The Exposure

It seemed to be surprised, almost, when the woman said that she wouldn't take it back, however, it did not lower it's guard because of that. The people behind the woman kept staring at it, and it grew even more wary. 'What were they talking about? Why are they here? If they won't take me back.. Why are they here?' A ton of questions were running around it's head, but it concluded it as not far too important, when in reality, should be. In it's train of thought, the woman turned around and seemed to be smiling as she waved farewell to the being. Before it could reply, it was held in the man who brought her to the building earlier, and watched the male laugh as they fell through the hole.

The creature on the other hand, imitated both the woman and the man's positive (more or less) expressions, and smiled as well. "Bye bye!" It waved, falling down the hole along with him to god knows where, though someone might be dumb enough to follow them down the hole.

Arden hesitated before wrenching open the door to the building, rushing across the alleyway, and then hiding in the shadows. Peeking her head out, she studied the guards, before straightening and rounding the corner. A light skip formed in her steps, Arden never feeling so free before this. Here she was, in the midst of a mission, and she was sneaking off to see a boy! Oh, her father would have been furious. Before Arden could let out a bubbling laugh, the resounding beeps from her pager broke the blissful moment she was enraptured in.

"What is it?"

"Target has escaped, but doctoral examinations say she is unharmed. Permission to open fire?"

A lot of things almost spewed from Arden's mouth then, many of them mixed emotions that clashed and didn't even form true sentences. Doctoral examination? Open fire? Escaping target? Arden let out a laugh of pure anger and exasperation. "Must I micromanage everything?" Damn, and Arden was truly hoping to reform her purists ways. She hoped someone could see the internal struggle that threatened to bring her to tears. She didn't want to kill any blights, no matter the severity of their illness. But if she continued playing safe and soft, the target would get away and with it, Arden's last hopes of destroying discrimination in this society.

"Pursue the target, permission granted, fire at will. Capture the doctor, we have a rat in our ranks".

Arden turned brusquely from where she stood in the middle of the street, breaking into a jog after her response. Hopefully she could catch them outside if they had gotten that far. Chances were, with the idiots Arden had as guards, they were already on the first floor. Tucking the pager into her pocket, a heavy weight slid in and settled on her abdomen. The weight of guilt and remorse for the actions she had permitted. Arden had to be a purist at heart, no other sympathizer would even think of doing things in such a manner as hers.

No use throwing a pity party, her actions were set into motion. With them, Arden cast out last thoughts of the teenage boy she had hoped to know, and the chance to see him again. Kicking open the door to the building once more Arden, forced her way in, ready to fight for #957.

Hearing the commotion around Mya couldn't help but to laugh.

"What idiots, what absolute idiots. I can't believe they were so stupid as to let that man take her through a trap door."

As soon as she heard the scramble of footsteps she decided that it was her time to leave, she could investigate the building and where that door led to any other time. Mya jumped from the second floor and landed on her feet safely and started to walk away through an alley.

"Those Bluecorp idiots won't be able to find those two the way they're going, nor would they ever be able to find me."

As she was in the alley she heard a voice saying to capture the doctor. Mya started to quicken her pace knowing nothing good would happen if she was caught. Dang I'm not on their favorite employee list, now am I.

Mya slowed her pace when she was close to her place and continued to walk. When she got inside her home she couldn't help but remember what the man who took the girl with him said. She laughed hysterically mimicking his words.

"Blueshit company....Blueshit company....Haha what an interesting comparison to the actual company. I think I'll look into the man further, he may be one of my pawns to victory, and the girl will be my winning piece."

She looked at the picture of her parents.

"When I finally have their cooperation I'll be able to cure blight and show the world what Bluecorp really is, and my revenge will be so oh so sweet."

"Wanna.. Go.. Home.."

The creature said, whilst in the man's arms as he carried it. When it spoke those three words, it didn't really know where 'home' was. It couldn't consider Bluecorp it's 'home' due to many reasons. It was slowly gaining a mind of it's own, being able to know what it actually wants for the most part. Although very mentally delicate, no better than a toddler. It snuggled into the blanket it was given, not knowing physical warmth aside from the glass chamber; which usually resulted in it being forced out and being knocked out even before it could realize what was going on around it, so this was a change.

It didn't know where they were going, nor did it know these people around it. It didn't know where this man was taking it either, but he had acted in a positive way towards it for the most part, so it didn't dare get hostile towards someone who was trying to help it get away. It was able to trust him more or less, but it wouldn't hesitate to impale anyone who attempt to backstab it in the chest.

Although delicate and can be sweet, it was a living, deadly, and walking weapon. Created to infect the world, created to take over the government, travel through a seas and claim countries, all single handedly. It was created to do that single handedly once it had control of it's remaining abilities it had still been unaware of, even though the explosives were deadly enough.

Arden wasted no time clearing the first floor. She would find them. She would. She would. She would. It was the only thing Arden could think among this quickly deteriorating situation. Brushing strands of hair from her face, Arden crouched behind rubble, listening for any footsteps. Closing her eyes, Arden waited for a moment. A scratching noise in the corner, must be a rat. There were scuffling footsteps outside in the alley, pounding footsteps the floor above, and... stealthy footsteps laden with heavy weight. Arden opened her eyes, pursuing the footsteps quickly. She needed #957, that experiment was the key to her success in shredding the veil off Bluecorp and breaking the walls of discrimination. No one could take her purpose away from her.

Arden leaped out into the small hallway, seeing a figure round the corner. Sprinting down the hall, retrieving her pager, Arden pinged her location to the rest of the squads. Moments later, a chorus of footsteps sounded around her, but they soon were drowned out by the blood roaring in her ears. Arden was going to capture #957, for the sake of all blights, and especially-

For her sister.

"These are dark times. I do what I can to help." He says sadly. He starts jogging back towards the building."I'll see what I can do about helping you find work. I can't gurantee it, but I know some people you can talk to"

A smell had caught her attention. It stained her clothes and her hair. It smelled like a bonfire on the 4th of July, or the smell that came from the toaster when Kleo accidentally left her bread in for too long. Something about it made her shiver, it did not feel good.

Kleo heard a soft sound come from a charred spot on the ground. A Cat. Kleo let out a panicked breath when she came closer. She could see kittens. She kneeled down and saw the blackened form of Twitch. The cat's body was heavily blighted, Kleo nearly mistook it for another. But there was the unmistakable flash of ginger fur through the Blight. It had spread so quickly and was still spreading. Kleo had never seen anything in this bad of a condition before. The kittens were already dead. Their small forms huddled together, their fur was matted with blood and their skin were bruised.

Kleo's lungs hurt. She could not breathe through the stench, her pulse thudded against her chest, hard and fast. Kleo covered her mouth in shock. Her hands were shaking. She was sure that humans were the only beings prone to Blight. How could someone inflict this on an animal so innocent. Twitch had stopped breathing. Her ragged breaths reduced to a last pitiful wheeze.

Kleo clenched her jaw in anger. It engulfed her and consumed her. Kleo's head was heavy, the sounds around her were muffled, muddied like when you go underwater. She had lived in this World long enough that it's sharp edges had dulled. She was used to the murderers, beggars and thieves but she refused to let this slide. Whoever did this was dangerous. Kleo could tell by the severeness of the Blight. Kleo wanted to know who.

Home? Ray could notice the change in this girl's personality, or rather, the creation of it. He smiled. His way of thinking seemed to have finally resided in her being. This was good. It meant there was hope. It meant he... no, they, could finally bring Bluecorp down after several years of failure.

With his arms wrapped tightly around her and his jacket flapping upwards due to their free fall, Ray pressed another button. A second later, a massive net emerged underneath them and Ray landed with his feet on it safely. "Welcome home." He finally replied. He slowly put her down and adjusted his weight over the net to stop it from bouncing. He walked over to what seemed like concrete grounds and flicked a switch on the wall.

The lights switched on, revealing a huge underground military base. Tanks, military vans, machine guns, bombs, grenades and every other sort of advanced weaponry, spread around the base. Two pillars stood tall above the concrete floor of the hall. Connecting them was a large stone with the engravings "The Black Tulip". Ray reached his hand out to the girl to pull her to the other side. "Come on, don't be shy. Take my hand" He smiled at her.

@Teomessos

When she had asked if they were home yet, she was referring to the little to no memory of the human DNA that was injected into her. God knows where that DNA came from, but she had copied all of the facial, and physical features so it would have to have been a girl. Hkwever despite that, all it's hair was a silver blue colour from the water and the blight. Though, she was possibly learning to develop, as water itself was able to literally adapt and humans quickly adapted as well.

She was surprised, almost, when the net had caught them, and her blight did not spread due to her being wrapped up in the blanket. If the blight were to come in contact, then it would spread from that part, rapidly to the point it could go from the tip of the middle finger to eating up the entire arm to the neck in the span of five minutes from her own severity of blight. As she was put down, she looked as though she were in a daze, and didn't know when to snap out of it.
"Where.. Sister?" She asked, a different question now.

It witnessed all the weapons, and there were more than she could count; not like she could anyways. She luckily didn't know what they are, otherwise she would link them to death and make everything explode; which was the last thing he wanted happening. It did, yet it did not want to take his hand. Unable to explain it, it showed it's hand to him. The skin looked perfectly normal, however the over layer that covered that seemed to turn transparent, and then it would reveal the blight on her hand.

The blight was severe, like everywhere else. There were no blight on her finger tips, however it was at the base of her palm and formed a crack shape on the top of her hand, extending to her middle finger. The other fingers were all fine, however, it just wanted to warn him since it at least knew how fast the blight spread.

@Uchiha Obito

"Go ahead, take my hand. I won't be harmed." He winked at her, knowing he was safe now. He wore two layers of gloves on each hand and protective leather everywhere else on his body. Ray was infected, but his blight only covered his right eye and parts of his scalp. He still, however, did not wish to increase his infection. It was bad enough as it was.

He extended his arm further and took her gently by the hand, slowly pulling her towards him. The gaps between the net's ropes were not big, but they were big enough to swallow a petite girl's foot, so he had to be careful to guide her away from them. Watching her, he realized something he had never thought of before. He hoped Bluecorp hadn't realized it too. They still had his equations for creating blighted creatures such as this girl, meaning they could use that to produce an army of them when a sufficient number of scientists is available again. Ray gulped. That would be the end of the world.

He pushed the thought temporarily to the back of his head and smiled at the girl."Come to papa." He still wished to imprint in her developing brain that he meant her no harm, that he was her only family now.

Of course, it was still hesitant to take the man's hand, and so it refused to until he grabbed her own. She hadn't even noticed the gloves that he wore, and she didn't even know what gloves were in the first place. Although that wouldn't have completely saved him; since there was a chance he could get her blight, but it didn't look like it was spreading, so it didn't say anything about it.

However, if it weren't for the man leading it, then it would most certainly fall. Even though it could deform itself and walk through the net... Well in any case, it was following him slowly. What he didn't know was that she had literally obliberated the lab, and even if they still had the formula, it was a 1/100000000 chance they could replicate her exact structure without failing.

The girl was still confused, however, with the though of him telling her to come to papa. Though, she still didn't know exactly who papa was.
"... Pa... Papa?"

@Uchiha Obito

"That's it! Good girl." She was a quick learner. He was pleased. With a gentle pull, he brought her to the concrete side of the hall, where the weapons were. His eye patch scanned the area above them for intruders.

%Scanning... human presence... negative.
%Scanning... Infected human presence... negative

He turned his gaze to the girl again and switched off the eye patch. He gently planted a soft kiss on her forehead and smiled. Despite the fact that his being kind and warm towards her was due to his desire to save the world, he was growing some sort of a fatherly affection towards her, the kind of affection Alexa's death stole from him.
@Teomessos

She was still unable to comprehend most human emotions, but it didn't feel like it had to put it's guard up far to high, and it was acting paranoid without even realizing it in the first place. It was looking up at the weapons, unaware of what they were, and she hopefully, for the sake of this area, would not know what they did. However, it was still confused as to why he was acting so kind to her in the first place, as it was considered a 'monster'. "Good... Girl?" She asked curiously. It seemed to know what a girl was, however it didn't seem to know what 'good' meant in the first place.

She didn't seem to understand the gesture of when he planted a kiss on her forehead, one of the few places that was free from the blight in the first place, as the rest of her body was covered with it. Even with this layer of skin of her body, the blight would still find it's way to physical contact with others. For some reason, it didn't want the male to get infected because of her, thinking back to the cat that was so severely blighted. It looked up at him, and then the over layer of skin slowly began dissolving form her own will. This would reveal there best of the blight, all across her body.

It wouldn't be an over estimate if one were to say it were all around her body, as it was, sparing the inside of the palm of her hands, her fingers (save her middle finger) and sparing her face. It had spread up to her neck as well, however it had stopped spreading at this point for whatever reason. It enveloped her legs up to her neck, and it was literally pitch black with purple, blue, and somewhat green-red sports here and there. God knows what could cause this amount of blight on a regular person, and allow them to live, but it did this so he would know where the blight was, being unable to explain it.

@Uchiha Obito

Ray gave her a half smile and messed her hair in a childish manner. The way she 'shed' her extra layer of skin made him realize what she was trying to do, protect him. That made him feel... safer. However, he already knew the areas on her body where the blight resided. After all, he was the one who played the biggest role in bringing her to life.

Ray took off his eye patch and hung it on a stand in the corner of the room. His chocolatey vanilla hair slowly fell over his forehead, covering his right eye. A split second before that happened, anyone with a quick eye would have caught a glimpse of his blight. It spread like a scar -a thin line- across his eye and down to his cheek bone.

Sitting on a couch in the center of the hall, Ray watched the girl roam around the room, observing everything like a tourist inside the pyramids of the now fallen Egypt. He was fascinated by her curiosity for life and her interest in things other than killing and violence. Lisa he whispered to himself.
That's what I shall call her.

Skidding to a stop before Arden pitched over the side of the gaping hole in the middle of the floor (what even are people doing out here)? Arden paused, quieting her heaving chest into tiny puffs for air. Listening quietly, she heard tiny voices at the bottom. It was a fatal flaw to get arrogant enough that you would think the enemy had lost track of you. They had only been missing from the radar for about ten minutes since Arden's last ping. Even now in the black shadows of the hallway, a soft blue light lit up occasionally in Arden's pocket, signaling that they were tracking her. Staring down the hole, Arden took a deep breath hoping something was down there to break her fall. One last time, she ran her hands along the edge of the hole, not finding anything that could work as a ladder.

Sending a ping out to the surrounding squads who grew closer with the thundering of footsteps, Arden closed her eyes briefly. This was for the better of society. Arden was not wrong.

Jumping off the edge of the pit without a chance to get frightened the air whipped around her, lifting her ponytail and whistling in her ears. A curtain of mesh, a net maybe?, caught her fall, the harsh bristles of the rope dragging at her skin. Looking upwards from her sprawled position, Arden froze. The facial expression of mild surprise was the same.

From the sweet curls of the eyelashes and crinkled corners of the eyes from laughing so much, the nose and soft mouth only brought shudders of pain to Arden's chest. That was, that... She looked...

"Madeleine?"

@Teomessos @Uchiha Obito

She didn't seem to be hostile, or let out any negative emotions when he pet her hair, almost as if enjoying it. Wait, enjoying it? That was strange, it was new for her. Then again, like everything else in this world, it was all new to her. She had lacked memories, her only memories being in a test tube and violent expiriments being tested on her. Really, those were the only things she could recall.

When she saw the male's blight as well, she seemed to have been slightly confused, as she still thought she was the only one with the blight unless she were to spread it. She was tempted to touch it, as for some odd reason, blight would not spread to her. However, she had enough restraint not to, keeping to herself.

Of course, she was purely made from water, blight, and human DNA, so she technically had no parents, and was technically genderless as well due to lacking the genetils. She continued poking her head around curiously, like a child looking at a petting zoo. Then again, it wouldn't be an exaggeration if someone were to say she were exactly like a toddler.

Suddenly, her ears had perked up. Was that... The sound of the net? Quickly looking up, she found a familiar girl; appearing around her age if she had one, who appeared to be almost speechless. Of course, the expiriment didn't respond to the name, as it had no recollection. Though, she knew that girl from somewhere. She heard her voice, even though it were muffled, it was still the voice she heard yelling from outside the doors.

She knew the girl was from blue corp, and the expiriment had the original form of someone that was close to her, but how could it know?
"... You... Take back?" She asked, softly. Though the answer was obvious, she didn't want to start attacking out if the blue. The expiriment slowly returned to the man, almost as if hiding behind him.

@Uchiha Obito @Schuyler

Beep...beep...beeeeeeep
Ray's thoughts were interrupted by the loud alarm that came from the sensors above, which activated only when the pit was opened in any way other than the buttons on his jacket. He stood his guard and observed the free-falling girl. He could have disabled the net, but then again, he was no killer.

When the girl hit the net, he instantly remembered who she was. Bluecorp's heiress. He kept Lisa behind him and pulled out a gun from a small pouch that was wrapped around his right thigh.

Keeping the gun to the side, Ray watched the amazement on the girl's face. Madeleine? Who... He assumed the impact of the fall on her head had caused her to become delirious. "Feeling comfy?" He asked sarcastically, seeing how she was taking her time in standing up.
@Teomessos
@Schuyler

"Feeling comfy?"

The comment took Arden off guard, and then infuriated her. This man, not only did he have possession of #957, he had the audacity of making a snarky comment. That girl, she looked just like Madeleine, to the point that it had taken Arden off guard. Not enough to not be aware of danger. The man hadn't retracted the net, but Arden noticed something hiding in the shadows clutched in his hand. Well, he was hesitant to kill her. That was a fatal flaw. Arden had taken a few bullets before, assassination from extremist groups were not uncommon with her lineage. Standing up smoothly, Arden cast a small, pained smile to the little girl- no #957- hiding behind the man.

"Sorry about that, you reminded me of someone", Arden spoke kindly, smiling like a fox.

Facing the man again, Arden felt the smile drop from her face, anger turning her cold and composed. It was best to just assume the man had some sort of weapon, a gun perhaps, or a remote in his hand. If Arden were not so angry, she might've reminded herself to tread carefully. Well, there was an if in that statement. With her next exhale, Arden would drop into a crouch, moving her hand to slip the small knife from her boot and then move to lunge forward. If Arden was not intercepted, her other hand would slide to the back of her hip. Slicing upwards with the knife, Arden stepped to the right, anticipating his next move would be to move whatever was in his hand.

"Checkmate", Arden would whisper, turning the gun underneath her other arm and squeezing the trigger.

Mya ran back to the building regretting her decision to head back. Dang it why does my idiocy get in the way of my work. I can't really let Bluecorp get her then it's going to be pretty dang hard to get her back. Why am I so stupid? When she was home all she did was change into her tight black outfit, she put her black mask (that only covers up to her nose) on, and her black gloves on, she felt this outfit would be more for her job instead of the outfit she had on before. She also packed her better equipment a couple tranquilizer guns with multiple rounds of ammo for them, a few hand knives, a vile of substance that she doesn't remember what it's made of the tape on it just said "A", and some bandage wrap just for the heck of it.

She slowly rounds the corner to the building she was just at, Mya sees the Bluecorp squads standing in front of the door. She looks around to see a window a few feet away, she opens it and crawls in quietly. She runs up the stair as quiet as she can so she won't be heard. Mya gets to the third floor to find two Bluecorp people there where the trapdoor is. She grabs one of her tranquilizer guns and shoots two shots and they both go down. She runs over to the trapdoor and hears a women.

"Aw it sound like they're having a party and they didn't invite me, how rude."

Mya jumped into the hole quickly, not know what would happen she had her gun in hand.

"Well I guess it's a maids job to clean up after a big party, now isn't it."

".. Go... Boom.. Boom.."

The experiment was standing behind the male, and upon witnessing the events that were to soon commence, she had actually gotten herself ready. Slowly, down her finger, trickled a small, single, golden droplet of water. It fell to the ground, and it seemed to have a mind of it's own as it quickly scurried around the room. The three people in this room, they weren't idiots. They knew what the thing was capable of, and it could adapt. Adapt being a key word here. As it was in it's solid form at the moment, sure a tranquillizer would work, but that would need to be very strong stuff, as of this point, it was practically immune to that stuff from having a needle stabbed into it countless times. The tiny droplet had stopped, right in front of her. Now, who was in front of her? That's right. If the girl was really running to attack the man, then boom, she would go too. The thing smiled, however it wasn't kind and gentle.

"Not.. Stupid... Those.. Boom if.. Other thing boom." She giggled, and it wasn't that hard to decipher what she mean to say. 'I'm not stupid. Those weapons over there, this whole room underground has explosives everywhere. If one thing explodes, then it'll create a chain reaction.' It meant to say, moving back and looking down at the tiny spec of a gold droplet. "Wouldn't... Move.." She giggled, and she wouldn't hesitate to detonate the tiny, however, deadly explosive. Even in a tiny droplet, there was a large amount of blight in it, this infecting anything it touches, and anything that is caught in the explosion.

In front of the two, they wouldn't see an innocent girl, they wouldn't see a flightless, almost perfect purist. In reality, they would see a monster. She was only holding the blanket over herself, but it was clear after she took it off, since it got in the way. The blight was all over her body-- no. It was her body. At this point, her body slowly started to liquify, however retaining the human shape. Every feature was carefully intact, however her body was like a slime, and as slimes do, they leave something behind. In this case, millions, and millions of tiny explosives if she were to drag her feet along the floor. Her entire body, literally, was a dark golden colour with purple, green, and blue large floating patches in the water. The only thing that was spared from the blight were her eyes, which were still a soft, purple colour.

"YoU... TaKe mE bACk.. rIgHT?" It asked, the voice distorting from one tone to another. God knows what had caused this, but if attacked, it would be risking the attacker. Worst case scenario, the attacker would fall through her, and be covered with the worst blight known to man.
