The Demonlution

"Sweetheart I Got -All- night." Isabella rolled her eyes and bared her teeth at him for the use of the petty name sweetheart, she could think of a few of her own that definitely weren't so kindly but just as degrading as this one was in her mind. "Call me that again and you won't make it the rest of the night, demon bait." With the loud and unnatural metallic sound her attention was instantly drawn to such a small object, she wondered if it was a toy of sorts but more likely a weapon. Of course her suspicions were instantly confirmed with the ear splitting explosion that, if left Shaine stunned, left Isabella kneeled on the floor with her hands over her highly sensitive ears. There was no doubt the explosion would both attract and ward off demons, but she didn't particularly worry about that right now with holding her wounded head in shock and pain. If she could have formed words she would have been screaming at the human most vile things of the edge of her mind or simply attacking him, but it took her a moment to recover and by that time he was talking again.

"Oh will you shut up already?" Isabella snapped pulling her hand away from the side of her head to reveal it slightly bloody. Fucking human trinkets. "You seem to keep forgetting we already almost wiped you out with just claws and tooth. What you have in weapons we make up for with numbers and our will to survive- something most of your petty race doesn't seem to have. Tunnelling into the ground? That's cockroach cowardice. If you have all these weapons and such confidence to use them then why are we walking your earths surface while you have to keep digging tunnels? Why do you waste your time picking off weak rouge lessers when you could be clearing a path for yourself? Why do you bother to have this conversation with a demon, rather then just shooting it? You know a fraction of demon power, and clearly even less then that about the spirit of a higher." Standing up she looked back to the stairs. He was doing it again, that confident way of talking to her like he didn't fear at all and it was making her nervous once more. What had she been thinking, trailing up here with him? "Now how are we supposed to get down in the morning, if you blew up the ground?!"

"You caught us off guard with us having no knowledge of what we were facing and I already informed you we have the weapons to wipe everything on the surface out. We have more bullets than you do demons, our bombs can take our more demons than you can effectively replace, and even then that's not even counting in Nuclear bombs. Humans may be soft and easy to kill when closed in on but we're damn effective in adapting to our environments and surviving against the odds. It's been proven over thousands of years no? You seem to be forgetting we were caught unaware of what was going on, surprised, and had no time it utilize out vast weapon supplies and if you're so sure about your demon power tell me if you can survive this." They had some time before the demons below regrouped and he picked up one of those fragmentation grenades and yanked the pin out- Keeping the spoon held down.. Oh man that confidence was BOOMING by now but it was an almost attractive confidence "This right here is a United States made M67 Hand grenade with a four second fuse. It has an injury radius of fifteen meters- Or forty five feet- IN all directions. This fragmentation grenade when detonated within those fifteen meters sends hundreds of pieces of shrapnel in all directions that shreds anything it comes in contact with as-well as a concussive blast- that- If you are within seven meters of will collapse lungs and cause other internal organs to fail. A painful death if it is not treated. However, the fatality radius where people are killed instantly is five meters- Or fifteen feet due to the fragmentation concentration and shockwave."

A smile touched his lips at these facts "Within five meters the blast will be so severe that bones can break, all internal organs will fail or collapse and your air passage will collapse- Immense swelling to the brain will occur as-well as internal hemorrhaging- That's just from the concussive wave of the hand grenade. if by some miracle you survive this you will be riddle with hundreds of fragments of metal that would have jammed into bone, torn through flesh, and wiggled their way into you as deep as possible- Keep in mind however these fragments can continue outwards at an excess of over two hundred feet still retaining their power- So you will be having a very bad day. Inside a room like this where the concussive blast would be forced to almost 'Bounce' off the walls well.. This grenade would ensure anything in this room was dead. Because in this room the actual blast and shock radius of it is amplified- This grenade would explode in this room, but act like four grenades of the same kind all exploding at the same time- Shrapnel would ricochet off these walls and turn this entire room into a pin cushion now i'm real curious -Dove-." His expression suddenly hardened- Cold, almost evil- Demon like eyes locking straight on her own.

"How many demons do you think this one fragmentation hand grenade that can be cheaply mass produced and distributed amongst millions of surviving humans do you think would do to a group of charging, vicious demons. How many do you think it would kill instantly and how many more wounded more? Keep in mind there are other hand grenades that act just like this one except with more shrapnel. There is a hand grenade called white phosphorous that when it explodes, sends out a billowing cloud of white smoke while sending out shards of burning phosphorous- A smoke mixture- That is extremely poisonous to the body and when burning, will not stop burning. If you get a flake of burning phosphorous on your arm it will burn its way into you and not stop burning until it is out of its own mixture and which case it will ensure death unless you amputate that arm or you manage to dig it out while its burning with a knife. Tell me.. What are the odds of us surviving right now if I released the spoon of this grenade?"

Isabella stared back at him cold and hard for a moment with a thought process clicking behind her mind before she actually... laughed. Lightly, quietly for sure, but it was most definately a laugh. Well fuck. She had to hand it to Shaine, even from day one when she saw his fighter spirit for the first time the demoness had almost always been a mixture of slightly fearful and fully guarded around him- now she was neither. She was absolutely intrigued. Sure he was obnoxious and boastful, ranting on about weapons so Isabella had pretty much thought him all bark and no bite until now for the lack of shooting or attacking her. This was different. There was no bluff in his eyes, he was ready to blow up the both of them and this place just to prove a point. He had that stubborn fighter spirit she rather held parts of herself but had never seen in a human. Rather then make her nervous it was... slightly alluring, actually.

She closed the distance between then in a few strides with her tail no longer wrapped around her waist, but instead confidently trailing behind her. Sounds could be heard below but it was true, they would be alone for some time and there was plenty of time to make a decision. "Not very high I suppose." Isabella smirked slightly, her voice toned with confidence of her own but not in a cocky way. More a natural, relaxed confidence. "But hey, that's alright. The world will keep on turning without the both of us. Your easily replaced and I have no perpous in this world any ways. So what if we both die here. Demons will keep on coming through, humans will keep tunnelling or end up blasting them away, and either one race will prevail or they will both come crashing down. The only difference is, if you do go ahead and blast us I suppose I won't get to find out which." She leaned in, only inches away now much with the same look on her face as Shain had when he had pressed his forehead to hers some time ago. She held no bluff, no doubt in her words just intrigue by his actions and personality. Her hands on her hips Isabella smirked again and spoke softly, in a challenging way. "Go ahead, blow us up. I'm not afraid to die."

Hemashed his forehead in against her own- Closing that distance fully between them to where their bodies were almost pressing together. She was so confident, so beautiful- And even further, she wasn't afraid like many others would have been. Others would have instantly tried to talk him down and tell him he didn't wanna do what he was going to do but she? NO.. No she dared him to- She almost -wanted- him to and he.. He was attracted to that? The danger- The beauty, like a CIA Agent on steroids in an apocalyptic world and as he held that grenade and she leaned in and dared him he'd almost growl silkily towards her "I'll do worse." He'll do worse? What the hell was worse than having all your internal organs collapsed, body shredded by flying shards of metal, and even further your body harmed so badly you couldn't even recognize it?

Well maybe it wouldn't be worse.. Maybe she'd like it- He knew he liked it. He had no fear.. No fear for her- If at all she held an aura of alluring almost and he soon found himself leaning fully forward to press a hard, rough- Almost.. Challenging? Kiss straight onto her lips if allowed- HIs left hand coming down to grip her by her waist to pull her forward towards him. The boldest thing a human could ever do or even think of was kissing a live, moving demoness and here he was. No fear. Not a shred of fear or worry in him, pressing a kiss right onto her lips and actually pushing into it- Almost daring her to push back into it herself as if it were a full challenge. Something was seriously wrong in this man's head but at the same time.. Something was so seriously right in his head

(( Oh my god your character's insane I love it ))

Isabella fully grinned as his forehead pressed against her own, reviling a sharp canine when the words slipped out. "I'll do worse." "I'd like to see you try." She growled the reply like stamping a challenge back at him at full force. Oh, she was brimming with confidence now almost flared up by his own and determined to show reflect that look he had. It was... almost admirable and Isabella was so intrigued, so into it, and so up the the challenge Shaine was throwing at her... and then her thought process hit a complete halt.

Her eyes widened and lips parted slightly against the pressure of the rough kiss completely unable to process it for a millisecond. The sensation sent a light scarlet flush to her cheeks rivalling the red wings on her back in its liveliness, a sensation of the human being to close she would have expected to feel disgusting- and yet it was the opposite. It certainly was a bold move, in fact almost an insane one although as soon as Isabella came to her senses she was back in the challenge mode and could feel that daring aura being thrown at her. She was certain now more then before that insane almost demonic confidence and reckless fearlessness was incredibly drawing her in... A hand flew up to the one around her waist as if to hold it there as she pressed back into the kiss with equal if not more force parting her lips again to taste him. There was full passion, full chemistry, full reflected daring attitude for a long rough moment in that kiss before her free hand swung up and connected with his jaw full force.

The impact would have sent his head snapping to the side and might have even gotten him on the ground, but definitely would have broken them off. Isabella reached a hand up to wipe across her mouth with a satisfied smirk. She wasn't sure which had felt better, the lustful kiss or the revengeful punch. Their was a dangerous amount of chemistry between her and this human male, and even though it hurt to admit he had shocked the shit out of her more then a grenade would have. "Alright, you win this round human." She stated, clearly admitting the defeat of this challenge. There was always next time... next time she would be the one to catch him off guard. Isabella looked so amused, something lively sparked behind those fiery brown eyes. "I can take you back to your base now, rather then wait for morning."

He was almost losing himself in that deep- Passionate kiss as his lips remained parted for her own- His tongue pushing forward to brush across her bottom lip and even to slip boldly forward past her own lips to brush against the very tip of her tongue in that passionate- Hard kiss until her free hand caused that brief lull and forgetfulness of the danger they were in to return, the blow hitting him hard enough to send him stumbling backwards- Slightly dazed with stars erupting throughout his gaze- Damn! She hits -Hard-, yet not at all was he well.. Turned off from her and or deterred- If at all part of him.. Part of him wanted more? Something was seriously wrong in the humans head- Was he from a mental asylum, just plain stupid, or did he actually- Under his own will- Kiss the demoness right then and there without a shred of fear and or regret?

Even as he stood there rubbing his jaw with his free hand and shaking the stars out of his head he wasn't regretting it. If at all it attracted him more to her- He always did like them with a little.. Bite or feistyness to them and damn was she feisty. Hell, he could find himself buying her a drunk in a bar and being bold and hitting on her all night- Not even caring if he got rejected back before the world turned to shit and it only served to keep him interested and almost -wanting- more from her

'Alright, you win this round human' the words seemed to slam into him and knock him out of his little phase as he managed to find the pin to the hand grenade and ease it back into its hole- Rendering the deadly fragmentation weapon safe- Shown as he released the spoon and set it back down, turning to face her this time "And what if I don't want to go back to my base right now..? I'm enjoying the fruits of victory currently and they're oh so.. Sweet." there was a teasing tint to the ending word as he stared at her- Not failing to spot that spark behind those fiery brown eyes as he began to pack his gear up and pulled his back bag close- Moving forward with narrowed eyes to butt his head back forward against her own if allowed- Lips stealing a brief kiss off of hers while his right hand came down to clasp the cheeks of her ass and give a hard, teasing squeeze. Oh yes. He just did that- He -wanted- to shock her. He -wanted- to make sure she didn't forget him and with all those bold moves he was making? He was sure she wouldn't be forgetting him anytime soon.

Safe for another day as he eased the deadly weapon back into a submissive state, Isabella rustled her wings lightly into place watching his every movement. Even though the human had caught her off guard and grabbed the over all win of the battle, she felt a small victory herself for keeping her own level of confidence in tact through it. It was so satisfying to watch him stumble back and run his jaw, brought a smirk. She was certain now that she didn't want Shaine to die, not before she could figure it all out because leaving him behind before that would drive her crazy. Hence the offer to take him back only now, rather then wait the unpredictable night because even with his assault on the bottom of the stairs that had stopped the snarling pack in its tracks- it wouldn't be long before something else was on their trail looking for a snack. In a way, with that bold move he had actually earned a small level of respect from Isabella.

"...Sweet." Isabella raised an eyebrow, wondering what type of game he was trying to play now. What ever it was, it was amusing but brought a short snort from her sounding much like a feline who always thought it was better then you. "Watch your mouth or you'll be seeing sweet stars again." She half wondered if he was suicidal, rejecting her offer of safety for the night among other highly insane and seemingly self-destructive choices and actions he had made that night. Actually, it was slightly irritating. She had given a rare offer and here he was still playing that confusing game of his that she was trying so hard not to back down from. Isabella was certain now he was just messing with her on perpous, trying to unravel her slowly and having a damn enjoyable time doing it but she was going to put an end to this.

...or not. Its not like she could really, the advance was so quick that if she hadn't seen the bold mischievous look in his eyes before hand Isabella would have thought he was attacking her. "Huma- Shaine-" She snarled just before being cut off by her own tongue when he was not inches away and she could feel the tension between them. This time, it was not a challenge aspect but a warning bell going off in her head reminding Isabella of everything she knew that humans were weak squabbling unpredictable creatures- serving no more perpous to her then a meal or a play toy. It was wrong, definitely gross, to be drawn to this one -most unlike any creature she had ever met- in the way she was. Damnitt, its almost like he wasn't even human because everything was drawing her in right now in ways it defiantly shouldn't have been and even when his lips brought closer again Isabella found herself leaning in to close the space and sending a shiver of something unknown down her whole form. Her reaction when his hand wondered down to cup her butt was... well, Priceless.

The demoness probably jumped almost a foot in the air with an instant scarlet blush that rose- it was an incredibly human reaction really, the vibrant blush rivalling her scarlet wings. She was beyond pondering on his bravery now because at this point, he must have just been insane to advance on a demon like this. "What are you doing?!" She meant for her tone to come out as a snarl or a growl but unfortunately it came out slightly more shocked sounding. Shit shit shit. She didn't want to back down again, part of it of course for the challenge aspect but another boldly large part for being drawn to this- then again alarm bells were going off in her head like madness now. Human, human with bad intentions! Her lack of a sensible thought was clear in hesitance, it must have been rather amusing for Shaine to see the way he caught her off guard once again leaving Isabella thoughtless for a moment before she moved one hand behind his back closing the distance again she had created and connecting again with a hard kiss.

I'm going to kill him after this. Isabella thought darkly to herself furious with the humans effect as her tongue brushed past his lips a moment after pressing his own into a submissive massage while her other hand ran up to grip the hair on the back of his head. He better keep his fucking hands at bay. The thoughts were slightly amusing to Isabella herself, because they were only half minded at the moment. It was a shame she wasn't more aware of her surroundings in such a situation, with a light rustle of wings as something made its way silently up the stairs that Shaine had his back too. The sound itself was curious, because as humans might have noticed lesser demons didn't usually have wings- but this thing what ever it was had an all-feral look in its green eyes.

Oh the stun- the shock, the reaction she just couldn't really give. He was throwing her curve balls left and right- Not a single one could she actually hit! It was a wondrous feeling to feel like he had the advantage at the moment- A feeling of almost bliss and a feeling of well. Being victorious. But over what? What was he winning..? He had of course confused himself just a tad- Maybe he should have been thrown into a mental asylum because this demon had a strange allure to it.. the Demoness was almost reeling him in towards her- Like a fish stuck on a hook. But what was the bait? A juicy worm? A juicy piece of demoness rear? No.. He wasn't sure what was drawing him towards her- He didn't understand why he was kissing her, touching her in all these ways he wouldn't even think of touching another woman in and yet here he was, touching her- Kissing her.. -Tasting- her even like it was nothing- Like it was all casual.. like she was a -Human- almost and part of it did bother him- this was wrong in so many, many ways. A human in a sense.. Courting and or showing possible interest in a demon? What a joke.. No way she even had the same interest did she..? He was just a hunk of meat- A mobile bag of blood she could feed on right..? Yet with all these thoughts he was still drawn straight to her- Like a piece of iron to a massive, powerful magnet.

And then the other kiss. The hard kiss in which he pushed straight forward into roughly- Hands at bay? Not a chance. As her tongue brushed past his lips his own tongue would clash with hers- Massaging against her own and twining against her own as his taste flooded into her mouth and his eyes closed into the hard- Rough, almost in a sense.. Lustful? Kiss as her hand came up to grip his hair and both his hands came down to cup the cheeks of her butt this time- Squeezing them together as he'd push her backwards in an attempt to pin her in against the wall, never once flinching and or breaking away from the kiss. No. This was a full on challenge he would meet head on in a full on fashion- There wasn't a chance he was going to back down and give her the upper hand. He was Shaine- A lieutenant! Nothing would ever gain the upperhand over him and or defeat him! It was ridiculous to even fathom him giving himself up to her and it wasn't going to happen. Not under any circumstances was it going to happen or was he going to let it happen- He was so lost in the kiss that he never even noticed the demon coming up behind them- And more specifically, him considering he was in a very, very vulnerable state at the moment.

This was a grave mistake.. He had his back full on to the demon sneaking up the stairs- Everything was open to it. The soft flesh of his neck and back- Every single part of him was open at the moment and for the taking. It had the perfect shots at him if it chose to take it and well.. Take him down and no doubt it could easily take him down considering the state he was in and the state Isabella was in- Both too entranced in eachother to even notice the lurking creature. Fatal mistake even. Something no doubt he was going to pay dearly for as he finally tried to break away from the kiss and.. Growl? Oh yes, he growl in against Isabella's lips- His forehead continuing to press into her own roughly- As if begging for her attention and affection- And even roughness "How does it feel that a human has the upper hand?" The words were growled lower this time, eyes narrowing dangerously. Something about him gave off danger- Adventure, even excitement. A human kissing and or loving on a demon. Start writing the history books.

Isabella slightly stumbled back as the rough advance continued, the hand that had been lightly gripping his hair suddenly went tense and firm as she realised what he was attempting to do. Even with the humans sweet skilful tongue in her mouth and his hands wondering much too low there was no way she was going to allow herself to be pinned against the wall by this human. Pressing against him she refused to take another step back even though they were less then a foot away from the wall itself- doing so in her mind would be a clear sign of submission but also saying that he -hah, the human!- was holding all the power in this situation. Which, of course, Isabella herself would never let happen. She pulled back on his hair clutching it as a warning but before a fearsome growl could bubble up and escape her lips, Shaine -actually and honestly, to her utter most dis-belief and slight tension- let out a most dominating sound of his own. The effect was instant on her mind, body language, and even stance as Isabella turned obviously hesitant in her fight allowing the man to back her against the wall before she responded with a much, much more violent growl of her own. What the fuck is going on? That was not a normal human interaction trait, that rough growl drawn up had -brief as it was- managed to slip all resistance from her mind because quite frankly... humans didn't growl. That was an animalistic trait, a demon interaction trait so of course she had responded to it better then any of his previous actions and found it well... hot. It was clear with his reckless confidence and her allurement to this stupid human that Shaine had the upper hand, but Isabella still refused to believe it or let him think that any more. She probably would have bitten him at that point, nipped his lip with a sharp canine hard enough to draw blood if he hadn't pulled away just in time to speak leaving her breathing slightly uneven from the rough encounter.

"How does it feel that a human has the upper hand?" Oops, bad choice of words. Well it probably had the effect he would expect from a demon because if he was expecting some sort of positive reaction or a back-down from the feisty demoness, he was in for great disappointment and regret. A vicious snarl ripped through as Isabella pulled back away and pulled his head away from hers with the hair scrunched in her hand but didn't go much further then a few inches- her back was already pressed against the wall. "Upper hand?" The words were thick with a challenge, and a fight back to his own as Isabella stared back into his eyes with heated brown ones. Her hand spread for a moment letting the grip go before tightening around the back of his neck digging claws in not quite hard enough to draw blood. "Weak breakable human, without your weapons I could kill you right now if I wanted to." She spat in a snarl even though they both knew very well nothing of the sort would be happening at the moment. The draw-in on both ends was too high, outcome of these actions too unpredictable to stop now, even slight sexual tension electrifying between the equal-sided domineering chemistry- it was all to great to back down from and hit an end now.

Something flashed behind Isabellas eyes in that moment broken from their contact as she met eyes with the higher demon behind. What a look in its eyes, pure animal even though it looked so human in form like her. Pure hunger, pure hunt, and now those eyes were rested on the back of Shaine- only one demoniacally possessive thought ran through Isabellas mind before she moved. Like hell he's going to make a meal out of my human.

With a feral growl ripping through Isabella tightened her grip on him and swung around to slam the human against the wall in her place just as the demon lunged. Both wings shot out to deflect the attack and wack! him to the side -to her much agony, Isabella had forgotten moving one of her wings was a very, very bad idea. She turned abandoning Shaine to go after the thing as it slammed against the wall from impact with her strong wings but it side-stepped her lunge. There was a quivering moment were neither of them moved, the human in the room was forgotten as they bared teeth at each other before locking in a deadly physical contact. It was all so quick, possibly quicker then Shaine could act because one moment they were tangled fangs snapping at each other and claws batting like two lions locked in a battle and the next, a flurry of feathered wings beating and blocking view as various spits of anger or pain could be heard. It was all almost to quick actually, before even what seemed like a second had passed the attacking demon dropped to the ground convulsing from what seemed to be a demons signature move, lacking the vital front part of his throat and leaving thick blood onto the floor boards. Isabella stood with her back to the human and tucked her wings in, quiet and still for a moment before she leaned forward and hit the floor on her knees, both arms around her stomach which was pooling black blood. A dangerous sound, something between a cough and a growl directed right at Shaine let him know she was not to be approched right now- in fact it would be best for him to just wait there because Isabella was certain if he tried to come in to contact with her at the moment for whatever reason she was either going to bleed out in front of him or rip him to shreds for not listening.

"Weak demon, without your claws I could snap you in half right now" The words were shot back. There was no way he was going to allow himself to be bettered by Isabella and part of it was sort of true. What would have happened if she didn't have claws in their fight in the mall parking lot? What would have happened if he didn't pass out from blood loss and they continued fighting like that- Who would have won in the game of fists and sheer violence? Certainly it would be an even match- If well. If Shaine could over power her in which case it would have been a one sides match just for him but he never once doubted the strength within her, she was strong. Strong, bold, Interesting.. -Gorgeous- of all things. He would never have imagined finding himself in a boxing match with her but if he had gained the upper hand that day.. Would he have killed her and ended everything there? Would he have just beat her into a twitching pulp of blood, bone, and sinew? So many scenarios played through his mind at the moment as he found himself suddenly being slammed in against the wall.

His reaction was instantly and natural- his right hand came back to draw that .45 caliber colt commander from its holster with a loud, metallic 'Clink' as its hammer was drawn back and readied to fire- Raised up towards Isabella's direction as.. Wait. Did she just protect him? So many confusing things- He couldn't even fathom what he was just witnessing. She had just protected him. He watched as she abandoned him and deflected the demon's attack and in the brief lull he just raised his handgun up towards the opposing demon- Ready to fire but they got tangled in another fight- Claws and fangs snapping at eachother in such a ferocity and tangle he had no clue where to shoot. He couldn't take the risk and end up accidentally shooting Isabella- It wasn't a risk he was willing to take and much against his liking he caught himself holding his fire- Biting down on his bottom lip until the demon dropped to the ground convulsing and pouring blood- Blood.. It seemed like only yesterday when that demon was him and he was the one leaking like a broken hose all over the ground

But at the moment there was only one thing on his mind. Isabella was hurt. And she snarled at him- He knew this wasn't going to end well.. She would bleed out if he didn't help her and if he tried to help her he would get torn apart by her or be forced to shoot her and there was only one sure way to solve this.

A loud 'Shlink' rolled outwards as the demons chirping below caught the scent of blood- Thinking there was a wounded meal upstairs and they were right. And they got a deadly present as they rushed into the room and a fragmentation grenade came rolling down the stairs towards them- Exploding in a bright ball of orange flame and black, putrid smoke below that tore through the entire pack of previous demons- The shock collapsing their insides and being so horrific in the confined room below some of their faces had completely exploded from the sudden pressure change- Shrapnel riddling all of them and killing almost all of them instantly- Those who were unfortunate enough to remain alive would have been badly maimed and bleeding out but at the same time the grenade blew half of the stairs away- Leaving a dangerous drop Shaine would die jumping but Isabella could make as a demon. It effectively trapped them in the tower but at the same time cut them off from the demons below and with the grenade going off- Hoping on the sheer, concussive sound to stun and shock Isabella he would have darted forward in an attempt to basically pistol whip her in the side of the head- to knock her clean out.

Should it have worked as he had hoped he would have went to work instantly- She as bleeding from her stomach. A deep wound likely- Hopefully it hadn't ruptured her stomach sac and with this wound he would have reached into his bag for a pad labeled 'Instant clot' to press it in against her stomach if he had knocked her out- The chemicals in the pad working hopefully to cause the blood to suddenly clot up and stop flowing so he could get enough time to get the serious equipment out- Medigel. A natural salve made by scientists years before from various organic sources that speeded up the process of healing- Four times as fast as it usually would have been naturally. Effectively it caused the body to repair the open wound the gel is placed against much faster and it was rare- Only given to the most important of people and Shaine..? Only had one tube. But it would be worth using it on Isabella.

As per usual, the splitting noise would have made Isabella kneel over with her hands over her ears -probably letting out a string of curses too- but she didn't tear her arms away from the wound. Simply kneeled over more as if trying to shelter herself from the noise letting out a rippling stream of growls. The reaction was all natural of course, every human with a mind knew not to approach a wounded demon but always take it out from a distance. In such a state, ripped open and bleeding out or not that was the most dangerous time- when all offences were up and ready to lash out at anything within reach because this is the time were another demon would spring for the kill. Kind of like that last breath fight that came with a soldier like Shaine, intensified to battle with the impending threat of death. Her form shook slightly but not with fear, rather just another natural response as her body tried to click away and heal the dangerously deep wound that had slashed its way through in her thin -and most uncomfortable- human shirt to reach the stomach. Shit, she regretted stepping in now and thinking back to it he probably would have been able to handle him self but there was only one thing running through her mind at the moment when it happened... If any one was going to take this confident, egotistic, dangerous bastard down it was going to be her in the end. She refused to even phantom it was anything but that.

Only minimal medical training would be useful here, although many higher demons bodies looked and functioned similar to a humans on the inside they were a whole other story. It was lucky for him that she wasn't in too bad shape, just loosing a lot of blood fast. Their was a curious thing to see, of course the time had never been taken to examine demons upon the table for anything other then scanning for weakness -which was hard in itself, because many lessers took up different shape and form- as other species might have. The black blood was much thicker then his, but it wasn't all black. With the wound open, fresh blood that seeped out was actually scarlet for less then a split second before changing color to a soulless raven shade. It explained the scarlet blush she had carried earlier and the slight pink tinge on her otherwise porcelain skin.

It was also lucky for Shaine that the blow had been lights out because there was no way Isabella would ever consciously let him use his human tools and treatments on her. She would literally rather die here, - or kill him... actually, probably kill him- then have those fowl tools lace her up or strong pungent smelling medication applied. The stuff that left an awful human scent for days and did weird things to her bodies natural healing patterns... Plus it the strong scent messed with her senses and mind. It just wasn't to be trusted.

The pain as Isabella came to -just as the human was finishing up- was scream-worthy but nothing compared to the wing torture she had endured over the last few days. In fact, this was a bit numb in comparison. Actually, it was quite numb... and cold... and stunk like hell. Within moments she was fully aware of the situation and her eyes flashed open. "What are you doing...?" She tried to snarl but the scent was making her head spin and it came out as more of a groan. She arched her back instinctively trying to get up. "Uggah what did you do? It stinks."

He kept the pad pressed in against her stomach even as she woke up- At the moment he was too busy focusing on her. Evaluating how deep the wound went and the damage done and if he =Would= need to use the medicinal salve and after the blood had clotted he tore the pad away- Tossing it down the ruined stairs into the heap of mangled flesh below where the dead and dying demons were and just like that he began to hum to himself. Why he was humming? Who knew- But in a few seconds searing pain would rocket across her stomach as he spread the wound apart just a tad with his fingers, looking around to make sure there was no stomach fluid and to get an idea of how deep the wounds were.

Good. They weren't too deep and luckily she wasn't having her own stomach acid eat her from the inside out- What a way it would be to go.. There would be no way he could have saved her if her stomach was ruptured and spewing its acid about inside of her and with this he simply drew back to tear her entire shirt off if allowed- Oh yes. He was going to leave her bare from the waist up with the exception of her bra and even more he had torn his shirt away as-well, fastening the ends together to form a long strip of cloth in which he would wrap around her mid section tightly- Just enough to hurt and apply pressure before he'd tie the end off tightly at her right side. Good, she wasn't going to die- This was all good and she had been lucky in his opinion- Though in her mind everything she had done was probably calculated and planned, including the her bleeding out everywhere part but at-least she was stabilized for the moment and everything was allright.

"Whew.." He found himself staring at her breasts briefly before managing to look away- pushing himself backwards to drag her along with him unless she lashed out to simply.. Hold her in his lap..? Yep.. He was holding her in his lap- Whether from care or the fact he was freezing cold, who knew? But he sure as hell was holding her in against him. Plus one point for the insanity human, Shaine has taken the lead!

Isabellas eyes narrowed for a moment as he began to hum, questioning her own logic for a moment in thinking this human was exceptional for his kind because now it was clear he was just insane. The thought was quickly pushed aside for two reasons however, the first one being that she should never question her own logic because it was almost always right, and the second of course being the searing pain jetting up her torso as soon as Shaine touched the wound making her curve her back towards the ground more with clenched teeth and barely open eyes. She refused to make a sound at this point, if she couldn't get up and away at least she could zip it and stop from showing any more weakness then she already was. This was awful, the mentality that a human was caring for her right now and patching her up... It was like an incredible shame to her strong proud race.

It was curious really, comparing human anatomy to that of many higher demons they were remarkably similar save for the extra pair of muscles on the back to help give firmer wing strength- most females were smaller then males with larger wings and longer legs, without packing as much muscle as them as well but of course made up for that with there tendency to be twice as violent - which Shaine had witnessed first hand. And now Isabella was witnessing something herself up close, as she lifted her head to snarl at Shaine -when he tightly wrapped the bandage into place, because it hurt but also because at this point she was fully furious and embarrassed- Isabella found herself actually checking him out for a brief moment before letting her head drop again in hopes he hadn't caught that. Damn... he wasn't half bad... for a human, anyway.

"Whew.." The sound made her open her eyes again for a glare. She didn't understand why he looked so relieved, it wasn't like he had saved her life or anything- Isabella told herself firmly anyway. Would have been just fine without the bloody human... The movement brought forth another snarl because she was definitely not ready or in the mood to get up quite yet but after a moment it was clear that wasn't the humans intentions. No, this was worse. Much worse. "Just because you stopped the bleeding doesn't give you the right to touch!" She snapped and her english was clearly off in the slight mind scramble but after a few seconds the demoness actually... settled down in the position leaned up half in his lap. It was... well, comfortable. His skin was considerably cooler then hers but the contrast was nice, and besides this close his scent was overpowering the strong one of medicine. Uggah gross, what a way to think. She stopped spitting and snarling, it changed to a low growl for a moment before Isabella fell silent with a grumble not unlike an animal trying to get comfortable on a cushion. After another moment she gave a short sigh letting her head lean back against him before a thought came to mind. "... What did you blow up? There was another explosion, those stairs won't hold out for much more you know."

He wasn't too bad as she checked him out but she was offered quite the sight of the man's body. He was muscular and dense- thick, broad shoulders making him look even more dominant to match the muscles which spoke of years of hard work and labor, years of toning, and even more. years of fighting. To make it even better for her in a sense was the fact he was -Riddled- with scars. How many times had he come close to dying? How many times had he prevailed? Angry- Deep scars rippled across his chest and stomach signaling claws- Razor sharp talons that had torn through him and into him as-well as what seemed like a bite mark on his shoulder. He showed them with pride- Even further puffing his chest up but what she would have seen even more was the fact she was being looked right back at. There was a prominent tattoo covering his chest- Depicting a soldier staring right back at her and around his sides she could see the beginning of even more ink across his sides that would depict a massive mural of the vietnam wall of fallen and MIA names. She may not know what it was, but it all screamed masculinity.

He was a patriot no doubt. A Patriot who found himself possibly falling in love with the very thing he had vowed to fight and defeat until the end- Talk about an interesting change of roles and with her snarling he wasn't daunted. He just did what he did and found himself holding her in against him as she began to relax back into him- Eyes locked forward on the other side of the room "The stairs are likely gone. They were destroyed to wipe out the previous pack of demons reforming below and to ensure our general safety until you regain enough strength to leave yourself. I will be unable to leave because of the height but I know you can leave and if you'd.. If you need blood.." Every single barrier of sanity was instantly shattered with these next words "Feed off me. Don't take too much though." Wait.. Did he just offer her to feed off him just to regain his own strength? He was utterly insane now. There was no questioning it but it was something NO ONE would EVER offer a demon. To expose ones neck to a demon was a death wish and he did.. He did just that as he ducked his head down next to her own to leave his neck exposed to her. He could only hope that if she did latch on, she wouldn't drink him dry and kill him knowing she had lost a lot of blood and needed some way to begin gaining that blood and strength back. What better way than to get some fresh blood in house?

Isabella scowled at the words, she didn't ponder on the "I will be unable to leave," part because in her mind the only meaning for them made no sense. This was a strong, fighting, -violent- warrior of a human and the words themselves indicated almost as if he had met his end and was well aware of it. Ridiculous. That can't have been what he meant. Regardless, she didn't have time to inquire about it because his next words were even more confusing until Shaine leaned down giving her full access. Wait, what? It didn't exactly click right away, Isabella spent a few seconds still leaned back against the man even after he had shifted- which was probably a first when it came to hunting... if this could even be called that. She had never turned down an easy meal before, and granted probably did need one right now to help along the healing process but a move like this had never been expected. Would have never been expected. This wasn't nessicary, she would heal over with his work just fine and he must have known this. No, this was extra just to help along. It was almost as if the human cared for her, instead of just playing with her and calling it even from saving him, he actually cared for her...

Oh, ew weird thought. She instantly shook the notion from her head and decided not to think on it any more before in quick movements she switch positions to face him -ouch- pushing herself up into a more up-right one -another ouch, her mid-section certainly was in rough shape- and leaned forward. One hand under his chin pushing his head up and the other one pressed tightly on the back of his neck almost as if to hold it in place, it all happened very fast -too fast for him to change his mind- as Isabellas lips and then teeth brushed the delicate skin. He was warm here. She could feel each breath and heart beat but now up close and he had a sharp scent to him, she couldn't quite place her mind on what it reminded her of. It was so easy now, without a struggle like biting into an apple as her canines pricked his skin...

And she found herself hesitating. It was still there, even with the lure and all she couldn't get that sharp question out of her mind. Why is he letting me do this. Saving her ass back on the streets, Shaine had obviously drawn the thing away to shoot at it because it was the best time to do so. Simple enough. The kiss had been a challenge, rough and as into it as they were she couldn't see it as anything more. He loved to toy with her -confuse, challenge, and dominate the demoness and that much was clear in her mind so it was almost as easily explained. Patching her up... well that had been payback for saving his ass from the demon attacker, right? A series of odd actions, explained until now because this one had no logical explanation. For a human to be offering themselves up as a demon meal, they had already established he was absolutely insane but a death wish was a little out of the park. Just do it. Don't ask questions. Just do it... A bit of scarlet blood trickled down Shaines neck from the slight prick before she pulled back, completely letting him go and drawing her hands into her chest looking rather disgruntled. She couldn't do it. "I'm not hungry."

If he had replied with words or an action, she refused to look at him again or respond... stuck in her own thoughts again. And then cut off his, if there were any, with a question of her own. "So lieutenant, does the rest of your little squad know their leader is a mad man?" She asked shifting her position again without permission to lean back against his chest, resting her head against his upper chest with most of her back pressed against him. It took a hell of a lot of damage to scar a demon, some damn deep wounds and Isabella had clearly been to hell and back because speckled on her smooth skin here and there were small lines, lighter then the rest of her skin just visible in the right lighting. They looked clean, either they had healed very well or caused by something that made a clean slice. "First inviting a demon to spend the night up in this little tower with you, then harassing her with your hands and mouth, patching her up instead of just head-shooting her, now this..." With a growl -at him of course, for not being comfortable enough to lay back against like this- She shifted again -nope, Isabella was not one to stay still- to scoot down and rest her head in his lap instead with her arms behind her head. This hurt much less. "You don't even know my name." Isabella smirked slightly looking up at him in this rather relaxed position herself. She was growing tired, quickly not gradually as demons did. " I doubt you even knew demons had names like you. No matter, I also doubt you could pronounce it anyways."

Not a piece of the man was regretting his decision to care for the Demoness.. It was if a whole other man had taken hold of him- His grip on her was tight and almost.. Tender in a sense and as she twisted around and switched positions to face him he found himself almost face to face with the woman- The hairs on the back of his neck rising as if his own natural instincts were screaming for him to run or shove her away but he did none of that. He sat there and gazed into her eyes as her hand pushed his head up and he felt the grip of the other hand pressing in against the back of his neck- Easily keeping him anchored in place where he sat there with her in his lap. She was so close.. That masculine- Almost.. Dominant? Scent of his wafting out around her- Twining around her almost like a noose as if trying to well. Have her become more attracted to him and when her canines pricked his skin he remained frozen in place- Eyes closed as his right hand came up to bury itself into her hair- His left hand gripping her by the small of her back gently "It's okay.." He whispered the words so softly.. Oh so softly until she suddenly let him go and drew her hands back into her chest

"Why?" He was puzzled at the sudden draw back- Eyes widened with curiosity before she shifted her position to lean back in against that thick, stocky chest of his- Head against his upper chest and without even.. Hesitating his right hand came up to caress her right cheek tenderly- Left hand coming down to rest over her wound.. Protectively? He was protective over her? Interesting "They know I'm a mad man. All these scars I've gotten is from being mad. I've done insane things to keep my soldiers alive. I am one of the most effective and well respected leaders amongst the humans remaining military.. I've taken demons head on before with a knife- I've run across a dark, open street crawling with demons carrying two flares in my hands to lure them away so my men could slip away and escape and.. I've gotten the hell beat out of me. I.. Had my neck so badly mangled at one time I should have died but all the officers used their Meda gel on the wound and the medics worked on me feverishly while the soldiers surrounded me and shot anything that moved. I give and get back.. I am the definition of a nightmare for most demons because I will do things most humans won't just to ensure the survival of other humans who will learn to do what I do from example." He paused briefly as his head ducked down to rest his chin on the top of her head tenderly "She liked me harassing her with my hands and mouth. She probably would have liked more but.. I doubt she could handle a human in such a sexual way." A simple shrug was offered before she shifted again to rest her head in his lap and his head simply fell back against the wall "Everyone has a name. I don't know your name but you know my name no? We can leave it at that because at the end of the day I know I'll become nothing more than a memory to you."

With those words he allowed a heavy sigh to roll outwards. He would become nothing more than a memory wouldn't he..? Why would a demon even fathom remembering him? Sure he had a well.. IN a sense a crush on her but he knew to her it would mean nothing.. Or at-least that's what he thought and assumed. All demons were different no doubt, some could remember and some couldn't. Would she remember him as a friend instead of an enemy?

When his hands moved, Isabella let out a low growl pushing her own hand under his to stop it from even coming close to toughing her stomach, it was against her nature to let him get so close to a wound even if Shaine had been the one to lace it up. Her hair brushed against his other rested on her cheek but she made no move to remove that one, in fact Isabella hardly noticed it. "...I will do things most humans won't just to ensure the survival of other humans who will learn to do what I do from example."

" Or your just into the pain and suffering it brings to yourself." At this point, it really seemed like it, Isabella thought to herself which brought upon a smirk although she didn't say it out loud still listening to him talk. Her face scrunched up at the thought of his next words, clearly dis-settled and thought again about making a come back but nothing came to mind at the moment. Nothing out of the range of just childish, anyway. Was that a challenge? No, bad. Draw a line. Liked it? Well, she had been into it but... Uck I don't want to think about this right now. Perhaps it was simply because she was growing tired, but this relaxed state was nice without worrying why a demoness would ever enjoy being handled or touched in such a way by such a supposedly repulsive species.

"Yeah, suppose your right." It was true after all, they both knew past this that nothing more would happen or could happen. Friends? Maybe for her, but it was hard to stay buddies when all your 'friends' friends would take any chance they got to get a bullet through your head. Shaine may have called off the search once, but whether he realised it or not as long as she stuck around in this city Isabella was just going to keep doing what demons do best. Hunt -yes, that meant humans and demons alike-, make a mess of the city -with her new found favourite toy, paint-, and eventually cause too much trouble in their eyes to be seen as anything of a dangerous nusince. On the other side of the team, even though she didn't stand with lessers Isabella still stood with those sane higher few like her who walked upon unknown places in this world. Should she ever come across one again, there would be no question she would abandon this city and follow them wherever they had plans to go. Humans and demons didn't belong together, not in a peaceful life or in the same world and both individuals in this room knew that.

Yet here they were, the demoness finding herself drifting off in a manner she never thought possible because it was near impossible for a demon to sleep when danger was about. The fact she was able to do this just said quite clearly... she felt safe. "A memory of the boldest, maddest, most full of himself and his race, the most intriguing human I have ever met. And my favourite human, at that." Somewhere in the middle of talking her eyes had closed lightly but the words slipped out without thinking first and Isabella instantly regretted them, they suggested even the slightest that she might care back so she moved on immediately with a sudden scowl set on her face, trying to pass it off as a useless comment he shouldn't ponder on. "And what will you remember of me, once I am gone or my life has come to an end at the hand of one of your lovely human trinkets?"

"Pain and suffering? Suffering no thanks but pain? Pain I am used to. I was a little child- Maybe six? Nearly seven when my house caught on fire. Fire is.. A fear to everything- Animals, insects, beasts- Demons? Alike. Humans fear it just as much in its unrefined and wild form- The form of a hungering inferno engulfing everything in its way to keep itself burning and going. Oh yes, That is what we fear as humans. A docile fire is nothing compared to the fires that are born of greed and thirst for more fuel and I was stuck in a fire just like that. Home alone- Parents are out watching a movie, probably having sex even and I forget the oven is on. Something caught fire in it and it spread up to my floor- A two story building for a six year old. Jumping? Likely means immense amounts of bone breaking. I opened my door to find flames engulfing the stairs and the first thing I do..? Walk right down them like nothing is happening. I don't know what compelled me to do so- But I remember walking through them as quick as i can- My Clothes baked bone dry and smoldering in some places, hair all gone- Horrid burns.. Burns all across my body and my arms. Not enough to scar but as a comparison, seventy percent of my body sustained second degree burns. One of the many other times I should have died and I remember just screaming in pure agony suddenly- It just came out of nowhere until the neighbors woke up and rushed over and I found myself being carted off in a hospital bed, screaming in pain and agony before they knocked me out with drugs. I have a few other stories of my own.. RObotic-ness. I guess that's something some men fear- I'm like a robot when I focus on something. Everything I do is methodical and for a reason. Nothing gets in my way when I set my mind to something and when something tries to I simply find ways around it because I have a feeling of being like water. I flow around obstacles and continue on my course, building up until I'm extremely powerful and carve canyons through mountains and anything else that gets in my way." He'd pause briefly as if he had confused himself and after a few seconds a soft sigh would roll outwards past his lips

"I'll remember you no doubt. You're too smart to be caught out in the open- The only reason I managed to get a sneak up on you was because I did it from a distance with a high powered rifle and a high powered scope- One of which is in short order. You take your guess. You're not stupid, you're clever. I just suspect you won't wanna waste your time about with me. Besides, why waste your time on a weak, pitiful human when you could be wasting your time fighting something else, feeding, or with another demon just like yourself? I'm nothing but a notch on a blade- Put there by an important event or in a warrior's case an important battle and then over time it is simply forgotten. I've never been remembered by anyone else but my family- ALl of which well. Are no longer here- Thanks to your kind of course. Great story right? Either way. I'm not a demon and i'm not of your race. I have nothing truly special about me except for my behavior and after that i'm nothing but a raindrop from a sky landing in an immense ocean of water." The words sounded almost sad before a shudder ran across his body- He was freezing. Almost ice-cold by now. One more downside to being a human, heat mattered and it was hard for his body to retain such precious heat when it was being lost so quickly

A smirk touched the demonesses lips, all caught up in being called 'clever' for a moment -although she already knew she was, it was still nice to hear it- as one who thinks as highly of themselves might be and didn't think about his other words as deeply for a moment. I am pretty amazing, aren't I? But past that, he was wrong on so many levels and needed to be set strait- Isabella intended to be the one to do that right now. She was of course, never shy with her opinion and it was always the right one. "I wouldn't call it wasting time, I do have more of a mind then to spend all of my days hunting and prancing around with other demons from dusk until dawn you know. No, I have a sense of boredom and thought... so when something captures my interest or attention I can't help but stick around if it insists on keeping me there with constant curiosities like this world often does and now the way you have. And besides..." She opened her eyes to look up although his head was back rested against the wall, she meant her next words even if they would probably be denied in the future. "Intellectually and physically your a match for me, but I wouldn't know a human could be that before you because your the first one to ever stop to get in a few words, get a few words from me rather then just shoot me on the spot even after I practically shredded your arm and took down one of your men. Further more, ever since you opened that annoying mouth of yours you won't shut up about the strength and willingness to survive of your race and you take pride in their actions, but fail to realise its people like you who make up the stand-strong heart of it all. You keep saying their fighters, but not everyone is one at heart like you are. Its not just your behaviour that makes you special, its the way you choose to live your life going from as small as giving a demon a chance to talk to... leading whole armies with that strong spirit and inspiring others to do it to. That's the stuff all demons want to be made of, its not only admirable but important in a world like this for any side to have so don't downgrade yourself by saying there's nothing special... Why are you doing that? "

Her tone had clearly gone immediately irritated but also very confused, because the human had begun to shiver and she didn't understand why for a moment so assumed he was doing it on perpous. It took another moment to realise his body heat was much too low, painfully pushing herself into a sitting-up right position off of his lap and rather on the floor she frowned at him. "Weakling." Still feeling the drowsy effects -and she no doubt would be until rest- Isabella put her arms behind her head arching her back to stretch much like a cat and let out a yawn sitting up still before returning to the comfortable closeness... that she would never admit to. Instead however, this time Isabella tucked her good wing around them brushing his back and although it would have tickled a bit it was like a warm blanket. Without regard for his personal or explanation space she crawled back into his lap shifting sideways and drawing her knees in so she was almost curled up with her head resting on his shoulder near the crook of his neck but now with the wing behind them and another curled to her side, Shaine would be getting full body heat of a demon which was to say the least... a bit toasty. Finally, she took one of his hands and brought it in to rest against her chest in her own smooth hands- almost instantly spreading warmth to the finger tips. "Now stop shaking. Its annoying and you made me forget that I was saying." Her brows scrunched up for a moment before she closed her eyes again rather comfortable like this once again. "Your stupid, but your also unique and I don't think there's any way I could ever forget a huma- ... Person like you. When the morning comes or when we leave here I'll make see it you get back to your base but if you ever speak of this to anyone, I don't care who, I will have to kill you." She grumbled the last part as a side note, not on topic but still very relivent.

'Leading whole armies with that strong spirit and inspiring others to do it to. That's the stuff all demons want to be made of, its not only admirable but important in a world like this for any side to have so don't downgrade yourself by saying there's nothing special' He went completely silent and rigid against her at those words. The words were a compliment and certainly nothing of an insult but.. She would never know the burden leading whole armies into battle had. She would never know the burden it left on a man's mind to lead them into a war where the majority could or would die. It was admirable and important but it took just as much of a toll on the mind and body as anything else. Combat is one thing- Shooting a man or a demon going after a friend doesn't get to a man's mind. They're your enemy after all no? You were raised and bred to fight these enemies- Taught all your life that they would kill anything in their way or perhaps had seen what they had done to other people but leading hundreds into battle- Like playing a game of chess was difference

"That's the stuff no one should want to be made of." He finally spoke but.. She had finally witnessed the more.. human emotional side of him as he seemed to deflate beneath her- Something warm coursing down his chin to land on her bare shoulder. A tear perhaps? "I say I am nothing special because I am nothing special. In others' eyes I may be something special but in reality I am no different than the man or woman next to me. The demon or the beast that courses through the sky- Free as the wind and the water." He drew in a deep breath- HIs body giving a shudder. NO matter how much raw courage and strength the man was forged of he still bore those human emotions that seemed to differentiate the two races at war "In this world a man, himself, is nothing. And there ain't no world but this one. I sit here before staring out across the ruins of a great city- I sit in my tower. My safety zone. I look over a place consisting only of crumbling stone and the remnants of what was once human civilization. Over fifty thousand people used to live in this city and now there's not a single soul breathing within it. The only thing remaining in the city are the skeletons of the dead- Demon and human a-like. I look out across this city- Half over-grown by vines and grass, trees beginning to grow amongst the ruined pavement and along its edges: What's this war in the heart of nature? Why does nature vie with itself? The land contend with the sea? Is there an avenging power in nature? Not one power, but two?"

He drew in a deep breath before speaking more "I look at man and nature and say to myself: We were a family. How'd it break up and come apart, so that now we're turned against each other? Each standing in the other's light. How'd we lose that good that was given us? Let it slip away. Scattered it, careless. It's sad because there's not some other world out there where everything's gonna be okay. There's just this one, just this rock." a few seconds later the vocal point of all the sudden emotion came out "All of these things I think about and then I look back to myself- The man leading soldiers to their deaths. I'm scared i'll make the wrong call- These aren't pawns, queens, kings, or knights on a chess board. These are living human beings who have a life- Have a family, children. And everytime one dies a part of me dies with him. A part of me cries and reaches out to the light hoping I can bring this man back when I have to walk up to his wife, girlfriend, or child and kneel down and tell him what happened to daddy or momma." after a few seconds he just.. He just seemed to go so silent finding himself suddenly engulfed in warmth as she shifted in his lap and brought her good wing around him- The shivering began to die away. He didn't even notice his hand being moved to her chest until he could feel the coolness of his half frozen fingers beginning to melt away into warmth and.. For the moment he simply ducked his head down to rest it in against the side of her own. "Sleep." the simple word rolled outwards.
