So, I apparently didn't subscribe to nothing. This is all news to me. I'm awesome. I know.

Anyway, I've been behind on everything due to half of everyone I work with being out. So, I've been covering three spots along with my own. I'll get a post up as soon as I can. I also need to edit my 10,000 words for an open call at this publishing company. Man, I'm behind on everything.

Has anyone heard from @Shabriri since she posted her CS?

@Tyrannosaurus Rekt I hope you get caught up on things-- I know that feeling can be pretty overwhelming. Best of luck on the open call. c:

Thanks for the updates! I know how busy life can get. Had a death and thus funeral only last week unfortunately, add to that essays and thesis as well as archive research and poof there goes the time!

Hang in there lads.

Haven't heard from Shabriri yet, no, but I'll poke him/her if I hear nothing by next week.

I got my CS accepted earlier today, so yes, moving ahead. Speaking of which;

[fieldbox="Dahlia Derivan, goldenrod, solid"]
Gender Female | Age 28 | Race Human | Profession Apothecary

Appearance/Description
With her, for Gramheim, rather exotic features, tattoos and clothing, most people with a brain cell or two can easily tell that Dahlia is a foreigner from the south. She creates her own clothing by purchasing textiles from the ever-visiting merchants of the sea, and usually dresses in red, gold and green. Still, her most defining feature is probably her left eye. Severely damaged following an attempted eye-gouging, she still retains her eye, but it has attained a milky white color and Dahlia is completely blind on it. Apart from the eye itself, the area round it is surrounded by superficial scars. Because of this, Dahlia wears a ribbon (as pictured). She's lithe and short, about 5' 3" tall.

Personality
Dahlia cares about her clients and people in general, and rarely turns down someone asking for help. She has established herself as a potent apothecary, which coupled with her foreign methods and background has done little to have her accepted among others in her profession, and the inhabitants of Gramheim in general are typically distrustful of her, though there are those who don't share the suspicious view.

Typically considered friendly but reserved, reactive rather than proactive when socializing. Dahlia is of course well aware of the varied opinions about her, and she isn't one to impose her presence, preferring to avoid attention. She often visits public places as a way to show she's not afraid of others' opinions, but ultimately prefers to keep to herself rather than open up to others, garnering very few friends in the process. Furthermore, she has trouble trusting people as it is hard feeling at ease in a place which rejects you. This doesn't mean that she is timid or unsure of herself; on the contrary, if she didn't have the grit and determination she has, she would likely have left Gramheim a long time ago.

Nonetheless, when Dahlia feels safe to unveil her mask (sometimes literally), she's as friendly in private as she is in her profession. She's happy to tell stories of her homeland, though always the fun and engaging ones, rarely the darker ones, and never about herself, leaving most people very much unsure if what they just heard was the truth or a fairy tale.

Dahlia is very perceptive, and locals jokingly (?) says that she sees more with one eye than any two-eyed man ever did. True or not, it is hard to argue the fact that Dahlia is very good at telling when someone is being honest or not, as well as gaging people's emotional states. Some of her detractors argue it's dark magic at work, though this would seem a rather harsh sentiment. She knows how to find emotional weak spots in others, and isn't afraid of using it against them.

Biography
Born in a distant land down the river and across the ocean, Dahlia served a master as a slave. She was taught in healing practices and herbal remedies, and eventually worked as a herbalist. She has divulged little else about her background, other than that she was forced to leave her home when she was seventeen, eventually ending up in Gramheim when she was twenty-one. At the time, she was in the service of a small mercenary band from the East, serving as healer and whore alike.

The band was left temporarily stranded in Gramheim to sort out internal issues due to their leader dying in a bar fight. Dahlia saw her chance and tried to use her guile and the fact that the second-in-command - Jacys - had a proper hard on for her to get herself elevate the ranks, but Jacys' younger brother Rodrigon saw things differently. He had been the only one seemingly insusceptible to Dahlia's charms, and whether through deduction or, as Dahlia believed it, disdain, he would have none of it. Convincing Jacys of Dahlia's manipulating nature, Rodrigon nevertheless failed to impose the punishment he wanted to be given - exile - and instead promptly beat Dahlia half to death. Jacys was less than happy about this, but since the crew agreed Dahlia had to be punished, Jacys settled for exiling both her and Rodrigon, leaving them both in Gramheim as the mercenaries moved on.

Dahlia was subsequently treated in the local clinic, while Rodrigon, whose public beatdown of a defenseless woman had earned him little appreciation among the Gramheim inhabitants, was arrested and thrown in the dungeons, where he rots to this day. Dahlia eventually nursed back to health and resorted to prostitution in order to sustain herself. With her exotic looks, she was a popular whore and in less than two years she had earned enough to decide to repay the locals for saving her life by setting up her own apothecary. She offered healing remedies unheard of, providing decidedly different ailments for injuries and diseases at a cheaper rate than her competitors (the latter in an attempt to offset the former).

It was met with both initial and continual skepticism, but while she was forced to have her practice outside of the city limits, there were always people desperate or tolerant enough to allow her continuing her practice. After a few rocky years, Dahlia's tenure in Gramheim took a decidedly turn for the worse one night as she was visiting a tavern. Some drunken patrons came on to her, and although she recognized one of them as Chester Feeney, one of the more prominent criminals, she refused their advances. Chester, who had frequently used her services back when she offered them, did not appreciate being humiliated in front of his men, and with the help of said men, Dahlia was held down. Chester's intents were obvious, but Dahlia would have none of it and thought fiercely against the overpowering opponents, enough for Chester to give up and decide to make Dahlia too undesirable to be considered a sexual conquest anyway.

He told Dahlia he was going to gouge her eyes out, and proceeded to attempt to remove her left eye with a knife. Dahlia managed to squirm enough for Chester not to fully succeed immediately, but he did cut her eye severely, and left plenty of deep cuts around her eye in the process. Enraged, the criminal went for her throat instead. Alarmed by the noise, the city guard entered the tavern and one of them threw himself over Chester, saving Dahlia's life in the process. Chester and his men were quickly subdued and arrested, but before the guards could escort the men out of the tavern Dahlia grabbed Chester's knife and drove it through his neck, making it abundantly clear what she would do to those trying to take liberties with her.

She was arrested as well, yet witnesses at the tavern would argue it was in self defense, and eventually she was let free. It seemed the locals' hatred for criminal scum like Chester outweighed their distrust for foreigners like Dahlia. After this, Dahlia saw a considerably increased amount of clients, whether through pity, intrigue or whatever else. Regardless, Dahlia was soon allowed to set up her practice inside the city limits, where she has remained since.

It is now over six years since she was blinded, and many of the Gramheim locals have forgotten (or repressed their memory) what happened, and ever since her spike in popularity Dahlia has seen her number of clients in continual decline, despite her methods being clearly successful. With the increasing amount of violence, death and mysterious disappearances, some have even resorted to blaming Dahlia for the events, and although many view her as innocent or simply don't care, Dahlia's everyday life have become considerably more intense and anxious. Even so, or maybe because of this, Dahlia is determined to find out what is going on in Gramheim. She is too proud to leave, to proud to cower from others superstitions, and very eager to clear her name, perhaps even seeing herself accepted in the process.

Skills
- Perception. As described in the personality section, Dahlia is inherently good at guessing what people feel and want, and/or when they're honest about it. This means she's also good at finding out stuff people don't want her to know, as well as persuading others. While rarely pressing on these matters, Dahlia nevertheless remembers the details and has no qualms about using it against people if it benefits her.
- Healing. Dahlia is a proficient healer and uses evidently efficient practices taught to her in her homeland. They are often painful and unseemly, yet ultimately with a far higher success rate than her competitors'.
- Determination. Determined to a fault, Dahlia is fierce and unrelenting. In her life, she has experienced more than enough to leave one permanently traumatized, yet it has only served to strengthen her resolve. Where other's will or courage might falter, Dahlia will not.
- Martially trained. Mind you, this does not mean that Dahlia, discounting pure luck, stands a chance against a properly trained opponent like a soldier, merely that she has indeed received martial training (mainly by the mercenary company she once served) and knows which end of a sword is supposed to be pointed at the enemy and, moreover, that she's not afraid to use it.
- Knowledge of biology and anatomy. Dahlia knows how the body works and is quick to notice if someone is falling ill, or how serious a wound is. While not a proficient fighter, Dahlia nevertheless knows fully well how to hurt others. She knows what general weaknesses people have, and how to utilize it either in physical confrontation or merely in general.

Weaknesses
- Blindness. Perhaps the most glaring disadvantage (pun intended), Dahlia's partial blindness results in a couple of weaknesses. First off, she can't see to her left without turning her head. Secondly, despite being blind for years at this point, Dahlia still hasn't been fully accustomed to her state, and her vision in general is somewhat impaired by this. She is a very crappy marksman, for example.
- Physicality. Dahlia is short and rather thin, with little wiggle room left for muscles. In other words; she's not strong. While perhaps stronger than she looks, Dahlia is nevertheless considerably weaker than the average male.
- Social standing. Shunned by some and distrusted by most, Dahlia is not a very popular figure in Gramheim. The implications of this could be and are indeed many, with the most obvious being that it's hard for Dahlia to be treated fairly.

OOC notes
Leaving this blank for now, although I suppose I might add her name isn't her real name, but merely one she took on to fit in better (for all that was worth).[/fieldbox]

My PC is garbage, glad somebody caught that update on my page. ;a;

I haven't looked over any posts yet, and I'm not sure if I'll have the chance to for a bit. I've got catching up to do. ~_~

@Raddum

At first, I thought you meant PC as in player character and I was rather confused. I may or may not be an idiot. Glad to have you back, though. c:

@OwlFeather

Oh, he's garbage too. But there's no fixing that mess, heh heh.

Glad to be back, though. Just need to get back on track before I even try anything for this, lol. I have my own group RP to attend to, and I don't even want to start about my 1x1's.

I've already got an event lined up for Gramheim if you guys want something to nudge you along. My hope is it'll bring the PCs closer together, force them to work as one.

I'd also encourage you to interact with one another. Set up a collab on Google Docs or piratepad or something, get together and give your opininon on things or engage in whatever you think could be cool.

@Sini

Random question, apologies if you've already addressed it-- but what is the approximate population of Gramheim?

Alright, Grin is posted.

I am open for anyone and everyone saving him. That being said, if no one feels interested I'll have him get out of his own mess.

I just want things to be fun!

Is there any chance of joining still if not I would love to read the roleplay anyways. I'm sorta trying to catch up with the whole 'how to roleplay' thing, it's been far too long.. But alas I would like to know if there's still a chance. And if not I am perfectly okay with that. (P.S. Can anyone direct this noob who is just getting used to this RP site to where the roleplay story/thread is? I would like to read it so I'm not lost. I believe I have a faint recollection on where it is, but not quite sure.) But again! Just let me know :) Thank you!

I believe there's a link to the IC thread on page one at the top. c:

Yes, the very top of Page 1 in this very thread! Both the 'Info Group RP' and 'In Character Group RP' forums are located in the larger 'Group Roleplaying' category. ;)

As for joining up, we're still just getting started, so I imagine @Sini would be happy to get another character profile from an interested party, since we may have a few no-shows.

Thank you very much! I will read to my little hearts content; then I will hopefully be able to possibly work on a character bio. I would love to be a part of this in fact I just finished a Table top RPG not too long ago, and would absolutely love to be a part of this! :) Thanks again!

It's a secundary town, so a few thousand people but definitely less than 10,000.

I'm always happy to see new interested parties! I hope you'll enjoy the story and setting so far.

Anyone going to take Rexie up on his offer? Great way to get your guy/girl in on the action, so thanks for writing up that opportunity Rex ;)

Maybe Hendwick and/or Vladlena since they seem to be about in pubs fairly often? If the situation escalates, it might be a chance to get more characters involved, too.

Do we know if @Shabriri dropped?

Edwin will at least be in the tavern and around of the situation. He does have other motives, so if another PC is able to help that'd be a nice illustration of Edwin's sense of morality and obligation.

Expect my post by Monday.
