Silva got her sights onto Yellowbeard once again, but the shot still seems to be risky to take."Tch, still not a clear shot..." Silva mumbled and then scan around the Midas for possible threats to the crew. Then she saw a pirate rifleman aiming towards Adale. "Not on my watch." Silva said as she steadies her aim on the pirate's head before shooting her rifle. From her scope, she could see the rifleman fall down from the platform he's aiming Adele at. "Didn't get Yellowbeard yet... Hopefully I'd get him in the next shot." Silva puts down her rifle and took out her dagger to help defend her spot from being taken by the pirates.

Then a pair of pirates arrived at Silva's location, One of them charges to Silva. Silva dodged the vertical slash that the pirate attempted. Silva sees this as a chance to make an attack, but...

"Gahkhh!"

Silva gasped as the pirate landed a knee on her gut. She dropped her dagger as well. The pirate held her neck and took a closer look at Silva. "Heh... Yer a cutie, it'd be a waste to kill you here." The pirate smiled, looking down upon Silva who is currently struggling to get out of the hold. "Khk... You'll regret this..." Silva spits at the pirate's face, which angered the pirate as he slams Silva down to the floor. "Ye better learn yer place here bitch!" The pirate yelled in anger as he grabs Silva's hair and pulled her up. "Aaah!" Silva yelled in pain, "Fuck... you..." Silva fought back by delivering a hard punch on the pirate's crotch. The impact made the pirate let go of his hold, giving a moment of recovery for Silva.

Silva, now recovered, stood up and made a headbutt on the pirate's head, followed with a right hook to the pirate's body. "Stay down!" Silva finished with a hard straight punch to the pirate's crotch, knocking him out. Silva took a moment to calm herself before walking to her rifle and pick it up. "I'm trying again, cover me!" Silva said as she filled the rifle's tank with Erchius fluid and also loading another Widower bullet into the rifle. She looked into how many Widower bullets are left in the package, there were still a lot of it left, enough to shoot any major threats to the crew and probably also shooting Yellowbeard. She once again took aim at the Midas, scanning for possible threats.

Saki was given pause when the golden behemoth of a man decided to face her head-on. Clashing with him would get her nowhere, if it were a battle of raw strength. The gut-check caught her off guard, and the blow to the face sent her reeling back, which was fine with her, it gave her some distance, once she'd recovered. Clearly, this wasn't time to play around.

Saki took a deep breath to center herself, once more sheathing her sword and settling into a proper stance. She exhaled a cloud of condensation and glimmering frost. Time to get serious, if she was going to take this guy down. "We're gonna have to work together on this one," she shouted to her allies. Not that she really had one, but just all fighting individually wasn't going to cut it. She remained on the defensive, focusing on not being a further target and looking for an opportunity to make an unexpected counter or strike.

Ruu.png

A few pirates let off a few shots as some of the Mercs peeked around the corner. Much to Ruu's dismay they obviously missed. If only she could have worked with some more disciplined morons who could hold their fire until she told them to.

By now Ruu couldn't even bother to complain anymore. With the short period of silence that followed however, her pirate underlings seemed to be rather content in having 'pushed the opponent back'. Really.... just a bunch of morons. If only she could shred herself of any compassions for those big idiots and sacrifice their lifes as she saw fit.

A few more seconds, what felt like hours for Ruu, passed as her patience finally met its end. This situation wasn't even difficult in the first place so why was the Dragon Youkai treating it like such a big deal? She had been through way worse... and pulled through.

Giving a quick glance towards the pirates once again she sighed. They were disposable. Vermin. Scum. Lowlifes. The very same people that robbed her of her joy in life. Honestly, would they even care if she died? Most likely not. If anything those sickos might even do... things... to her corpse.

Shedding herself of any unnessecary emotion the Dragon Youkai finally decided. If the Mercs gave her THAT much time she could simply pull off her Trump Card. Sure, the collateral damage would be immense but as long as she made sure to keep the important pieces intact then Yellow Beard couldn't complain much... right?

The air around Ruu began to chill as her Crimson Eyes started to glow in an intense red. Just as she was about to call forth her Spirit Guardian however, shots suddenly started to fire again. Agatha's mercs made their move! The Dragon Youkai was confused for a moment, did someone in their group catch onto what Ruu had planned to do? "Tzch."

With the pirates keeping pressure on the shielded maiden it was on Ruu to break the tie. With her eyes still burning and the provocation of the Blood Devil it was Herman's loud Cannon, putting a lot of attention on himself, that put the final nail in the coffin. "RAAAAWWWRRR!"

Ruu commanded as she grabbed Herman's shell out of mid-air with unnatural precision and power. It didn't even seem to hurt her. "Stand back and cover me! Shoot at whatever openings they give!" The Berserker commanded as she now charged towards their Vanguard Sorina.

Jumping as high as to the ceiling, Ruu used her wings to stay in the air before she launched a counter-attack. "EAT SHIT!" Loyal to her draconic heritage, the Dragon Youkai let out what seemed to be an icy breath. Alas, way weaker than what could be expected from a 'true' dragon, it was mainly focused on Sorina. If she were to pull her shield upwards it would simply leave her open against the gunfire of Ruu's allies.

While most of the gunfire that Agatha's group was giving seemed to do naught against Ruu. It was way more effective against the her hand-picked companions: One of them already lying on the ground. He was...dead?

"Screw this!" Another one said as he refilled what seemed to be a very simple Erchius device that offered some protection against the enemies projectile attacks. "I'm going in as w- huh?!" Did the light just flicker? He shook his head in disbelief before charging forward, albeit still a good chunk behind Ruu, ready to Sonic Thurst Agatha&co into oblivion!

Laura saw the flaming ball of golden death moving towards them. It was gigantic and... most likely lethal for most of them. The Divine Knight had to make a choice: Either 'command' everybody to dodge and hope they would make it or...

"KYYYAHHH!" Laura yelled out as she threw herself into the way of Yellow Beard's attack. Tanking the entire thing to make sure nobody else would get hurt, Laura got rammed full force into a pole.

Pumping as much Mana as possible into her Barrier Jacket she hoped to 'survive' the attack...and while she did... the damage she received was still way more than anticipated."Urgh..." Weakly standing up, Laura's fair skin was burned on multiple places as well as part of her clothing shred to pieces, she used her weapon as support. Laura felt pain. Too much pain. It was like as if someone had dropped acid all over her. And she felt weak.

While Laura wasn't incapable of fighting yet it was clear that she needed a moment. Still, at least nobody got hurt by this attack and... was that blood obscuring her vision? Not to mention she felt kinda light.

Regardless, for whatever reason, Laura was their commander. And while she didn't have much experience in, well, commanding, all Laura could really do was apply some basic tactics.

"Those with area-of-effect weapons try to keep Yellow Beard's Crew busy! The others engage him at melee! Play it safe. Don't fight one on one. Work as a team, synch up your attacks, he can't defend himself from every side. I... just..."

Laura coughed. A lot. More blood? Well, whatever. She was painted in red before they arrived at the top deck anyways. "I just need a moment.... please."

A brief moment of ceasefire. The lingering sound of explosions from the outside skirmish and slight shaking remained, making the smith ponder of the others' situation. Agatha proposed her plan, then was countered by Shinobu's safer alternative. The owl Youkai got off a quick smoke, totally cool under fire. Herman kept quiet as he listened to the stratagem, keeping his guard up to ensure that the pirates wouldn't make their move while they were recuperating. With a quick nod and smile...

"Aye. Yer' the boss."

Three... Two... One...

It felt like time slowed down drastically at that exact moment. Everyone's actions were fully in-sync. The astro-girl fired her explosive rounds on the ceiling above. The Blood Devil let up, tower shield in front. The tanned smith aimed at the floor, then fired. His own explosive rounds gave off a small smokescreen the instant they made their impact on the ground, barring the opposition's view for a brief period before they resumed their ranged assault. The others climbed up, following after Shinobu, while Herman and Taka were given an ample-enough window of opportunity to fire back thanks to the vampire's efforts.

"W-woah!"

While their own weaponry were unique, these guys' toys were no joke, either. It's just three of them, but it was as if they were faced with bullet hell. The vampire's shield stood tall, but the stream of gunfire they were unloading was unreal, bullets passing above and from the sides of her escutcheon. But of course, ammunition was finite. Fortunately enough, the bastards ran out of it at the same time, Herman popping up and firing a couple of rounds at their position. His aim could or could not have been more lucky. The bullet was stopped mid-way by the gradually pissed-off Dragon Youkai, her roar signifying impatience and fury. A quick sweat ran down the smith's forehead.

"A-ah... Crap..."

Sorina was scary, Herman thought, but this chick may have topped it off when her glowing eyes met his. The Dragon finally made her move, inching closer towards their vanguard before flying up to the ceiling and unleashing a breath of ice.

"Shit...! She can't defend from both sides...."

With the thought immediately passed through the smith's mind, Herman dashed back to the corner, firing his last explosive round before retreating back to the corner of the corridor. That way, Sorina can focus on defending from the Dragon Youkai's offensive. Herman pumped his weapon with more Erchius rounds, exhaling a sigh of exhaustion.

"Man... This is nerve-wrackin'.... That woman's not playin'... *huff* But at least she left herself vulnerable flyin' up there... Hope Astro-girl and the others make this quick."

Taka returned the nod Sorina gave him, and chambered in a round. When she popped out from around the corner behind her shield, he was right behind her, and even used her shield to steady his gun. Once more, rounds flew from his rifle. This time brushing against the lit match and taking on a red hue before impacting and exploding. It wasn't anything grand like the others, but limbs would certainly disappear if he hit you. However, all of his shots appeared to do little or nothing, even when they hit. His calm, methodical shots were doing nothing. They either dodged out of the way, or moved so his shot hit where their armor was strongest. "How frustrating," he mumbled as he saw how little his efforts were doing.

But he quickly stopped that and once more took cover behind the wall instead of Sorina's shield once the dragon youkai started freezing things. He even reached over with his hand to drag Sorina out of the way while mentally screaming at Buras to distract her. And Buras did just that, taking off from Taka's shoulder and glad to finally be able to do something. He flew with amazing speed towards the still air born dragon youkai, talons outstretched, and ready to tear at anything that presented itself before flying off to harass some of the other now charging pirates.

Things took a sudden turn that Sorina herself did not foresee be it of inexperience or simply exhaustion. The Dragon Girl had taken flight in the corridor attempting some sort of Ice blast, as some men charge from the direction of the bridge to counterattack The two who were laying down the heavier fire seemed to have been dealt with by a joint effort of Herman and Taka, as the former backtracks from her like a coward to save his own skin, the later does something that slightly angered her.

Angling her tower shield to meet the attack the fool of an older man grabs her, pulling her back from the breath attack. Sending his own owl as Sorina falls backwards to deal with, or at least distract the Dragon Youkai. Well something was toast, or Iced, she thought to herself. Getting back to her feet, and shaking off Taka's grab, she sends a particularly murderous glance at Herman. One ran away and the other pushed her into a situation that while an attempt to save her was now likely putting her in more danger, choosing instead to ignore him as she wasn't sure on the handle the situation.

Given the situation, there was only one thing she could do. Dissolving her shield, the blood recollects to form wings, becoming exhausted, the fact was not all of them had Magitek defenses, and she could not possibly defend them all from the blast if she rounded that corner to deal with them. Add in the advancing Pirates... With her hand now free, the Blood Devil has a much easier time triggering the wrist mounted communications device, calling up Shinobu, with a rather simple message.

"Enemy Rushing! Hurry up! Engaging!"

Casting a glance at Agatha the armored vanguard gives a shrug as she releases the device. "I'm.." Pausing as if to search for words or to put aside a little pride, the aristocrat clenches her jaw briefly before continuing. "..counting on you Captain. Hopefully they care about that partner of theirs. This will buy some time, I've used up too much blood getting us here to just take her out." Jumping up from the floor, the Devil and the Dragon would be locked in a duel as she flew up from the floor and around the corner, wielding her lance in an over head strike, she opens up with a downward slash, connecting blades. Unless her partners did not care about her at all, they wouldn't fire. Right?

If they did, getting a good look at her foe, then she would take much more Damage than Sorina herself would, so long as she didn't die in this encounter she could regenerate given time, but her continuing on to the bridge with this duel would be the tipping point to her exhaustion, provided Shinobu attacked on time, or the others with Agatha bothered to help. Though it all wasn't so bad, Smirking wickedly as she locks in with close quarters, she laughs directly in the dragons face. "Ehehehe! Ahahahah! You're smaller than me! Now I feel a little bad about this~! " Pushing inwards and down with her blade Sorina keeps her cloak secured to her right hand as she maneuvers the blade, just incase Ruu went for another blast at close range. "But only just a little! Ehehehe!"

Standing face to face with Yellowbeard, it would be team two's task to take down the hulking figure before them. Truthfully, Drayton had hoped there was more to the pirates' captain than a stupid nickname, but that didn't mean he wished their target to be some behemoth. Watching as Saki and Wukong engaged and were more than held off, it didn't look good. This guy's brute strength rivaled a dragon—and that didn't bode well for a human like him. Typically, he carried himself as his allies' shield and sword, but this time Drayton supposed it would be best to cater towards speed and mobility.

It seemed Yellowbeard would take the initiative in attacking the group, aiming his handheld cannon team two and firing a large orb of fire. "Tha' hell kind of a firearm is that?!" He questioned. It seemed as though the pirate's gear matched his physique in terms of ridiculous power. Was the man even human? "Well... Guess not getting blasted should be first order of business..." However, before Drayton could make maneuvers to evade, Laura charged in front of the group, shielding them from the blast before flying back. Looking back at the squad's leader, it was obvious she was going to be incapacitated, at least for a while. Woman was lucky that didn't kill her. Though while she was incapable of acting, she was able to bark out orders.

Clicking his tongue, Drayton gripped the handle of Steelrune and drew it. "Damn it lady... I really don't like owin' people." With a scowl replacing his usual smirk, the twin swordsman dashed forward. "Well, you heard the lady... Keep the grunts off me so I can cut this bastard open!" Yellowbeard had magitech weapons, but so did he. This monster was tough, but it probably bled like anyone else.

Assuming he was covered, the path to the captain was a straight shot. Seemingly attempting nothing new from the prior two that assaulted Yellowbeard, Drayton sprinted straight at him, but he wouldn't be clashing blades with him. As he grew closer, the bounce in his step increased and the iron path he ran began to curve. While typically the type to take a foe head on, now the thief was trying to be dodgy, faking movement to the captain's left side, then moving in left with a spin and a slash at Yellowbeard's hip.

Yumi%20Tailline_zpszgkzwdji.jpg

Even before Shinobu began to explain her plan, Yumi began to act. The moment Shinobu asked Herman for his gun, Yumi already understood her plan. Thus, she jumps through the hole preemptively, barely giving the floor enough time to collapse before jumping through herself. Yumi acted with haste because she recognized the danger in the strategy. Whenever moving upward, you give the enemy the advantage of high ground. Not only would they have an excellent angle on anyone below, but they could choke them out easily with such a small entry point and gravity on their side. Since they were unlikely to see such a maneuver coming, they'd have time to establish themselves, but these opening few moments would prove critical to determining who would gain the advantage. Dropping a time anchor, Yumi would take no chances.

Yumi's diligence is quickly rewarded as she discovers a group of three pirates who were lucky enough to be in the perfect position to foil Shinobu's plan. They were ridiculously out of position, a testament to their lack of battle worthiness. However, the group was slow to act. None of them had the judgement to exploit the opening in the short time that it took Yumi to traverse through. Recognizing that Shinobu and the others would be wide open as they leap through the gap, Yumi took immediate action.

Acting out of surprise and fear, the two pirates wielding cutlasses jumped Yumi, trying to press their advantage before Yumi could gain a foothold. However, Yumi alters her trajectory by hooking her foot on the bottom of the floor, causing her to come in at a low angle. The difference only bought an extra half second, but that was all she needed. Slash. Yumi slices the pirates right through their bellies in one strike, transitioning into a combat roll. Panicing, the pirate with the rifle takes aim at Yumi, taking out her left shoulder. Although obviously in pain, Yumi remains silent, approaching her foe relentlessly like a horror. The fear that sets in buys Yumi enough time to dodge the next shot, slashing the pirate from underneath his armpit, then following it up with a stab to the back before time leaping back to her anchor.

Taking Helen by the hand, she tugs her forward, intending to bring her along with them. With their new position, Marumei no longer needed her protection, and they could use her power. Yumi suspected that Shinobu did not include her because she wasn't supposed to be with this group and wouldn't be the kind to tolerate any kind of disobedience. However, Yumi didn't want those feelings to get in the way from utilizing every person they could get. Regardless of Helen's choice, Yumi would carry out Shinobu's plan.

zAfAI4D.jpg

Helen had been steadily burning through her erchius fuel while using using her wings as a makeshift shield, she had designed them to act as so but still grunted at every bullet impact, both from the force of the round, and more importantly in her eyes, the damage being done to the complex machines, though it was useful as she was able to blast wind into the fire arms wielded by the pirates, occasionally managing to make one explode but mostly just interrupting their shots.
The dragon Yokai appearing caught Helen by surprise, it was one of the last things she had expected to encounter, after all, how common could they be? Though on second thought a dragon pirate made way too much sense, especially considering the ship was named the golden Midas, it was actually kinda stereotypical...
Either way she knew her magic wouldn't be much use, especially considering how much she was beginning to exhaust herself trying to keep up to the damage being dished out by the other mercenaries.

As she prepared to engage the dragon, who was clearly some kind of leader from the commands she was shouting, in close range combat with her wings, Helen felt her hand being grasped and nearly tripped over a discarded arm as she was dragged along, a bullet just missing her in the process.
"H..hey, what are you doing... Oh, you're Yumi right? Umm... What's the plan?"
Helen asked, her original indignation immediately fading to a somewhat tired sounding yet oddly pleased tone as she asked her question.
After all, Helen assumed Yumi wouldn't have grabbed her unless she had a good reason.
A moment later her assumption was proven true as the plan was explained, she was to help take down the dragon girl in an indirect way by rescuing anyone who seemed to be in trouble, which actually played quite well into her strengths which at that moment were essentially her ability to fly since her magic was rather drained.

So much slaughter. That was the only way Ádalé could describe the battle around herself. Faces turned into blurred things as her massive hammer cleaved through life after life and as she shattered another ribcage, the only thing she could think of was that it was so different from training. Back at home, injuries were rare. If someone was hurt too badly, then they would be removed from the session before they were given some time to recover. The long endurance exercises were not much different. There was a sort of understanding between knights to not go too far. Here? There was no such thing as restraint. Within moments, Ádalé found herself standing in the middle of dozens of corpses.

Like Laura, Ádalé ended up covered in viscera, but this was completely new to the knight. While the battle had helped to distract her as her thoroughly drilled in instincts had taken over her body, now that her conscience caught up to the situation, she found herself with a horrible feeling in her stomach. And the smell...! She turned pale and she had to take short, quick breaths in order to manage her upset stomach all the while Alris practically rattled in her fingers from the adrenaline crash. To anyone who looked at her, it was plain as day that she was not comfortable in her skin. Forced to focus on herself lest she lose the contents of her stomach, Ádalé closed her eyes and thenn asked two questions question to fill the lull between battles.

Divine One, have I done right? Is Your humble servant performing her duties well?

Of course, she recieved no answer. Neither Sol, nor Luna, nor the Divine One Itself saw it fit to gaze upon her with a message intended for her ears. The silence was absolutely deafening to her ears, but more so to her soul as she finally opened her eyes to face the remains of her work. One pirate with a ribcage that was smashed open. Another whose head she had vaporised. A mangled mess of limbs that used to be a person before she unleashed Alris' wrath on them. She was the one behind it and though they would return to the Well of Life to be reborn again, the sight was still nauseating.

Not nearly as much as the blood-curling scream that echoed through the ship or the distant sounds of a man begging for mercy, but she did not feel like she would be eating a lot for the next couple of days. But... She did the right thing, right? If Ádalé had not acted like this, the pirates would have killed her and they had been plagueing these skies for a long time now. If nothing else, she will have pleased Sol when she helped to bring order to these skies, thus restoring the doge's authority over their own domain. Perhaps even Luna would approve of this as Ádalé changed something. Taking a deep breath to solidify her self-control, Ádalé willed the shaking of her hands to stop and brought herself in line for the moment.

"Understood," she finally managed to say as Laura gave her orders, trying to focus on the task at hand so she could suppress her thoughts.

As they made their way to the bridge, it would become obvious to the more seasoned veterans of the party that Ádalé was new to this all. While the landing went off without a hitch, anyone with an eye for combat could tell that her movements were a little more hesitant than before. It was not a dramatic drop in her performance, but there was clearly something bothering her deep down. This was especially apparent when they finally ended up face-to-face with Yellowbeard: she could have dodged the shot aimed at the group quite easily as cover was plentiful, but she hesitated for a precious second. Laura ended up taking the hit for her, a fireball consuming the other woman.

Ádalé immediately regretted her course of non-action as Laura collapsed onto her knees, looking like she got hit in a bad way. Of course, the knight's first instict was to rush over and provide aid, but her sense of tactics screamed at her at the top of its lungs. There was a full-blown melee on the top of the deck right now with pirates and soldiers alike tearing into each other from all angles. To rush out without thinking was tantamount to suicide; as much as she wanted to do something to Laura, she could not rush in head-first. Fortunately, most of the pirates were occupied, but Yellowbeard... He was probably worth five or so pirates together. And at the same time, he was their boss.

Once more, Ádalé took a deep breath to center herself and took Laura's orders to heart. She was one of the strongest melee fighters aboard the Lughanta, Alris had a better reach, not to mention that Drayton already engaged and that fool was not wearing armour. He most definitely needed a distraction which Ádalé was happy to provide. Indecision buried beneath a surge of adrenaline, the knight rushed towards Yellowbeard head on. She did not even try to conceal her approach. In fact, she deliberately put force into her step to make herself a prime target. At the same time, her grip tightened around Alris and when she was in range, she swung with her full strength.

Truth to be told, it was somewhat of a gamble. If she hit, she would likely crush Yellowbeard's armour along with several of his ribs or permanently cripple one of his weapons. If she did not, then she would end up dangerously unbalancing herself and exposing her person to the riflemen. But at the same time, it would force Yellowbeard to retreat in some direction, thus opening him to Drayton's blades.

"What?" The brown-haired captain looked visibly puzzled as the raven-haired ex-soldier voiced her disagreement to her plans. The Nightingale's eyes narrowed in displeasure even as she let Shinobu finished her little monologue. Of course, they didn't join in throwing their lives away, the Lughanta was a mercenary company, not a suicide squad. While she appreciated the in-depth insight especially with her military experience, Agatha didn't appreciate the way Shinobu just glazed over her authority as if she meant nothing.

"..." A silent tense confirmation was all Shinobu would get from the captain before the flier enacted her plans. She blew a hole on the ceiling then took Yumi, Charlotte, and John with her. "Kazanari..." The Venesian growled in her head, "We're going to talk about this later." she turned towards the corridor where Sorina was already hunkering down with her crimson tower shield. "It is difficult, but I have my faith in you all." Agatha responded to Sorina as her quarterstaff shone green. She unleashed a magical wind current in front of the Blood Devil to help disrupt the pirates' accuracy while accelerating the shots fired by Taka, Helen, and the others. Speaking about Helen, wasn't the Lilim supposed to be with Laura's group? Oh... where was she now? Following Shinobu? That damned Witch couldn't make up her mind and people said they were smart. Guessed 'arcanely gifted' didn't necessarily mean 'intelligent'.

"Alright, everyone!" She addressed the remaining team members sans Shinobu's ambush group, "Give them hell!" Thus, the intense shootout began. Her crew against the red-scaled dragon youkai and her veteran pirates. Shots were exchanged, armors were grazed, and limbs were disabled. After a short while, it was clear that the Lughantans were winning. "Keep at i-?! What the fuck?!" Until the small horned girl had enough and decided to blindly charge at them in a berserker's fury. "Fuuuuck!" She really didn't expect this, sure the Dragon looked reckless, but this was suicidal. Of course, this was exactly what Sorina wanted all along, a 'worthy opponent' so to speak. "Keep firing at the pirates, careful not to hit her!" Was all Agatha could say as joining their brutal brawl would be tantamount to suicide.

@RedArmyShogun

Smacking away the offending white owl as if it was nothing but a pest, Ruu went straight towards Agatha's party, specifically the Blood Devil at the front.

"HAAAARRGH!!" The dragon roared in her bestial fury as she clashed her zweihander with the Blood Devil's spear, staring into the Infernal's crimson eyes with her own, both glowing, both were hungry to turn their opponent into bloody viscera. In a way, a certain amount of respect grew in the youkai's heart for this equally brave individual... "What?!" Only for it to be snuffed out immediately when the arrogant infernal bitch dared to mention about her chest! Well, she wasn't one to talk. There were nothing behind that armor!

The seemingly petty insult managed to anger the dragon further as her whole form shone a chilling bluish aura, a contrast from her red scales. One would expect she was a flame dragon from her colors really, but it should be common knowledge that one should never judge a book by its cover... or a dragon by her scales in this case. "DEMON! DIEEEEEE!!!" Ruu roared, her voice echoing violently in the corridors as she charged forward, crashing herself onto Sorina, then taking the Infernal along. She didn't care about these moronic pirates anymore, all she needed to do now was kill this purple-haired bitch.

Still with Sorina locked in a clash in front of her, the youkai battered through the Lughanta crew as they were forced to dodge the two, passing Herman, Taka, Agatha, and everyone else. The pair of Devil and Dragon rose diagonally upwards, breaking through the ceiling, going through wooden decks as if they were minor nuisances. A short moment later, they emerged through the Midas' top deck and still, Ruu kept going until they were a good distance above the giant battleship. It was at this moment that Ruu decided to kick Sorina away, breaking them apart.

With the reigning night sky, the full moon above, and the chaotic battle below. The Dragon Youkai flapped her spread wings, hovering in the air as she faced the winged Devil. Her hands gripped her oversized sword as she dashed towards Sorina, engaging the Infernal in an aerial melee duel.

"By Lilith..." The blonde witch couldn't believe her eyes as green irises stared at the multiple holes in the ceiling. One was courtesy of Shinobu and the other by Sorina and the dragon pirate. The Lilim was just recovering from the shock before her slightly-pointed ears heard the thumping of footsteps, multiple footsteps, approaching their location... from two directions of the T-shaped intersection. "Everyone, enemy approaching!!" She warned the Agatha and the rest of the crew as her cards flew from her pockets towards each side then enlarging, shaping into three barricades.

Just as she did so, groups of pirates emerged from the doors, they immediately opened fire at them, joining with the now leaderless veteran pirates. "This isn't good!" Not taking any chances, Marumei immediately activated all six of her grimoires, multiplying the endurance of her barricade. They could hold out, but not forever. "Those ambushers better not take their sweet time!!" The Lilim shouted. If Shinobu and co could descend upon those veterans and take them out from behind, they could barge into the bridge and hunker there. Preferably before any of these pirates shattered her barricades, thank you very much!

@Laura's Group

Served the white-haired bitch right! From her armor alone, Yellow Beard knew she was one of those 'goody-two-shoes' knights. Fools, the lot of them, whether they were serving the Imperium, Fraulia, or Venesia, they were nothing more than delusional idiots. However, the large captain could admire her courageous deed of taking the blow for her squad and surviving his hand cannon. Respect, he'd give her an honorable death. As the rest scattered to dodge, he charged up another shot, aiming it at Laura, he didn't taunt her this time, a serious look on his bearded face as he pressed the trigge-... "Urgh?!!" Only for the large gun to be shot off his arm. Not only that, the bullet pierced through the hand cannon and grazed his arm, leaving a big gash. He was lucky there. It was clearly meant to take out his head. That coward! Who did it?! He couldn't see any sniper! It couldn't be... someone from outside the Golden Midas? But the shields were still intact!

"Nnngrh!!" Grunting in pain, Yellow Beard was forced to ditch his broken hand-cannon and paused for a moment, looking at his right arm, it wouldn't do him much good now. However, he still had his cutlass and would use it to crush those who oppose him. Among the assailants, he spotted no less than five notable individuals surrounding him. A swordsman wielding two blades, a monkey-like infernal floating on a golden cloud, the previous golden-white dragon youkai, a knight wielding an oversized hammer, and a dark-haired red-eyed swordswoman. Excellent! The more the merrier! "COME GET SOME!!" The Captain challenged.

With surprising speed considering his size, Yellow Beard faced Drayton head on, making a powerful overhead swing even with one hand paralyzed. He smashed down, causing wood and debris to erupt but the twin swordsman narrowly evaded, circling his large frame. "Ungh!!" The blonde pirate captain felt the blades struck his armor on the left. "Arrrr!!" He swiveled to counter with an elbow jab, but Drayton managed to wound his hip before taking the hit. "Hmmgrh!!" He bled from his wounds, but it wouldn't stop him!

Then the dragon youkai came, moving fluidly like the river she embodied. The controlled swiftness of Mithral Current Kenjutsu clashing against the savage brutality of a pirate's cutlass once more. Knowing the difference in strength, the dragon youkai opted for feinting maneuvers this time around, dodging Yellow Beard's attacks before she quickly countered with iai strikes. "Arrrgh!!" The pirate captain were struck here and there, chipping down his armor as Saki's katana struck true.

Blades weren't the only weapons he must face as Wukong charged at him as well. Riding on her cloud-like hoverboard, the mischievous infernal struck Yellow Beard with the Ruyi Jingu Bang, the deceptively powerful strikes from someone of her frame managed to stun the hulking man.

This allowed for Adale, the hammer-wielding female knight, to close in on Yellow Beard. "Hmm?!" The pirate recovered just a tad too late to react as Alris slammed full force on his armored chest. "Gaaaaah!!" A clean direct hit that'd instantly kill any ordinary man, but Yellow Beard was no ordinary man. However, even so, the powerful strike destroyed his chest plate as it clattered to the ground, useless, Adale likely broke some of his ribs as well. The fact he was still alive and standing was a definite proof of the infamous pirate's power. "Haaarrr....!!" He coughed blood, but the man seemed to power through it as he unleashed a horizontal electric sword wave at Adale, forcing her to block with Alris to stave off some of the shock.

"Captain Yellow Beard!!" "Protect the Cap'n!!" Noticing their leader's plight, groups of pirates flocked towards the party, charging with their cutlasses and aiming with their muskets. A moment later, a volley of elemental fury could rain down upon the five who dared to hurt the captain. Was the mission a failure after all?

"Fire!!" A resolute voice entered the fray followed shortly with an accurate blast of blue flames raining down upon the pirates, disrupting their formation. He had arrived.

@Laura's Group

Riding atop of a customized airboat, around a third of the Lughanta's size, sitting on the open throne-like bridge. was Captain Camus of the Draconus. The eye-patched captain finally decided to personally join the battle as his vessel unleashed elemental death upon the pirates, targeting large flocks and avoiding friendly fire at the same time. This was one of Camus' trademark tactics upon facing battleships that could rival the Draconus. With this giant - for its class - airboat, he could phase through the Midas' shields and unleash rune cannon fire from the inside.

This was followed by the Draconus mercs jumping down from the airboats, clashing with the pirates near Yellowbeard, keeping them busy from assisting the captain, resulting in Yellow Beard's backup being mostly muted. The battle was obviously turning in the mercenary's favor. However, the pirate wouldn't go down without a fight! If he must fall today, he shall fall in battle!

@LowDefinition

Success! Well, partially at least. The widower shot meant for Yellow Beard slightly went off its mark due to all the chaos, but still managed to destroy his hand cannon and disable his right arm. It'd leave him open for further assaults, better than nothing. The ex-military sniper could rejoice for a bit as well as Aster managed to drive most of the pirates off her. It seemed the Lughantan crew was also pushing back the pirate boarders overall, but... the glow coming from the Midas' rune cannon didn't look good. All of her instincts warned her of imminent danger.

True enough, the Midas' orb-shaped rune cannon fired a powerful lightning blast at the Lughanta, striking at the crimson airship's shield with enough power to almost shatter it. It barely held on, but a second shot would definitely crumble it. However, this was the least of Silva's worries as the force of the overcharged rune cannon managed to tilt the cruiser and blasting those on the top deck with enough shockwave to send people flying, mercenaries, pirates, and herself. The silver-haired woman was sent tumbling on the deck together with her strapped rifle, helpless like a ragdoll.

"Silva!!" Aster noticed too late that the sniper was gone from her position. He gritted his teeth, recovered, and sprinted as fast as he could towards the older woman. "Kuh!!" He dove towards the ground a mere second after Silva fell off the Lughanta's port side, his hand grabbing hers, holding tight. "D-... don't let go!" His heart beat fast as clouds drifted below them, a plunge of this height would mean certain death. To make matters worse, both of them didn't wear parachutes as they weren't part of the boarding party. Aster had his grappling hook... but what good it could be?

Looks like he would find out soon as the Midas' rune cannon was ready to fire another shot. This would definitely take out the Lughanta's shield and severely damage its hull. The blue-eyed man prepared for the worst as lightning struck it... but not even a second later, it ceased. The Midas itself seemed to power down, the orb losing its glow, revealing the mechanisms inside. The whole battleship ceased moving. That was good and all, but... the duo had a new problem now, the cannon shot, brief as it might be, managed to tilt the cruiser just a little bit more to send both Aster and Silva off the edge.

Gravity embraced the pair as they began falling straight towards the sea below. "Tch!!" Without any choice, he held Silva close with one arm while his other hand grabbed the grappling hook pistol then quickly took aim at one of the swarming pirate airboats. Praying to the Divine One that his aim wouldn't fail him, his plea was answered as the tip latched onto the airboat, anchoring there as the two was taken on a chaotic joyride along with the vessel. Looking down at the golden-eyed woman, the blue-eyed man couldn't help but blush just a little as he could feel her... chest against him, but no time for such thoughts! They must detach at the right moment to land back on the Lughanta... or the Midas, whichever came first. In the meantime, perhaps Silva could take out targets as they traveled, beats doing nothing.

<----->

@Ehb

Using his... unorthodox 'tactics', the redhead managed to take over the engine room and intimidated the engineers to disable the Midas' weaponry. Unbeknownst to him, he just saved the Lughanta from utter destruction. Now, the young man was free to take his next course of actions, would he rejoin Laura and co in their hunt for Yellow Beard or would he switch and help Agatha take over the bridge instead? Certainly, he wouldn't sit around in the engine room... a room smelled of shit and piss, literally.

Yumi's maneuver was useful. A surprise attack worked both ways, after all, though Shinobu was surprised that there were three pirates up that close to the hole to begin with. The blast radius should have cleared the immediate area, and everyone was capable of ascending fast enough in order to protect the handhold they had made.

Still, the sight of three dead bodies by the time Shinobu got up was a welcome one. There were no other pirates there to greet them once Yumi sliced through the unlucky bastards. Still, it was a bit distasteful, leaving two men in agony attempting to shovel their guts back into the large cuts in their stomach. The cat-eared hybrid had some interesting habits, huh? The combat knife was unsheathed, and with two quick jabs, the raven-haired woman opened another hole in their skulls.

From here…she would have to visualize it, huh? She recalled the image of the hallways, of how far it stretched, took into account Sorina's report about the enemy charging, and nodded to herself.

"John, Charlotte, Yumi…Helen," she began, gray eyes lingering on the girl that shouldn't be there, "Twenty paces to the left and thirty paces down. Cut into the floor and h-"

SMASH.

A blur of movement and a draconic roar. Shinobu's eyes tracked down the source, managing only a glimpse before the mess of bodies continued to smash through more floors. Sorina and the dragon youkai, huh? A beat later, the sound of boots and warcries resounded from the hole that Shinobu had originally made.

A three prong attack, huh, with their main defensive line tossed skywards by the rampage of the dragon youkai.

Shinobu smirked.

Stupid bitch.

First, confirmation. Bringing up the communications gem, Shinobu asked, "Aster, is Silva still alive?"

"Yes, she is, over."

Second, the order. "Sorina, grapple and slow the dragon as much as you can. Aster, get Silva to take a shot at the skywards bastards. One is Sorina, other is a powerful enemy. Aim to injure, not to kill. You have thirty seconds. Charlotte, when time's up, go to assist Sorina. Focus on recovering Sorina before dealing with the Dragon. Aster, prepare a medic squad to retrieve Sorina."

Third, the counter. "John, Yumi, Helen, continue on to the spot I indicated. There should be less than four pirates down there. Take them out as soon as possible."

Fourth, the retreat. "Agatha, have everyone rush for the bridge. Tell Marumei to back away until she's inside the corridor, using her barrier to block off the new arrivals. I'll clear them off. I'll give you ten seconds."

Fifth, the countdown. Kneeling by the hole that she had created, Shinobu peered down at the pirates that were rushing by now, counting quietly all the while. One hand reached and retracted two Thunderwave rounds, the runic lines pulsating gently. Her spare hand went to her rifle once more, a finger curling on the trigger.

"Five, four, three, two, one."

Her suit hummed, thrumming with the Erchius fuel that empowered it. Her eyes widened, a look of utmost concentration.

Two rounds, two explosives, were tossed into the crowd of pirates that had amassed as Marumei retreated into the corridor leading to the bridge.

The barrel of the rifle pointed next, and with extreme prejudice, Shinobu fired.

One explosion resounded, followed by two more. The shockwave rushed through the corridors, smashed against Marumei's barrier, and even rose up through the hole, a cacophony of sound crashing all about. At max speed, Shinobu flew away from the opening, covering her face as the force of the blast ruptured the wooden walls. Splinters bounced all over, but she was gone by then, feet slamming into the opposing wall.

The blast should have wiped out the mob that congregated together.

Should have.

"Agatha, sitrep?"

"Oh? Angr-" With a smug look on her face Sorina is not able to finish the rest of her question as the Dragon Youkai just suddenly goes full on berserker fury. Noticing the Lughanta crew as she was impacted into, Sorina grabs onto the Dragon girl, if she was taking her somewhere, they both would be suffering for it. Though even that wasn't what she had in mind, as the pair crash through the ceiling the Blood Devil could swear she caught a glimpse of Shinobu. Onwards through the next few levels the main deck stops the pair briefly as Sorina's body was unfortunate enough to be the first on that exchange. It was one thing to be able to crack a brick wall from ones punch, another to break through solid wood floorings as a battering ram.

Fortunately with her armor and a natural durability matching the Youkai it wasn't a fatal exchange, suffering more dents to her armor plus bruised bones she had to admit that hurt more than being shot or slashed just earlier. Getting kicked away at speed Sorina flaps her wings to regain control and to catch her breath. "Gah!" Coughing up a bit of blood, Sorina smirks a rather satisfied grin. "It seems I stand Corrected, I must say I understand your anger, given my own family in that regard. Not just a Lizard after all, eh Dragon?" With a soft bow of her head as a sign of respect, the Moon to Sorina's back seems to shine eerily on her.

Basking in the glow briefly it seemed the dragon didn't have much a mind to listen, or if she had, was still angry. Fortunately being nocturnal at least made this situation somewhat more comfortable as Ruu clashes headlong swinging her massive blade. It was a truly wondrous looking night, punctured by the battle down below and the guns of mercenary and pirate ships clashing with fighters made for an amusing view, sadly a mishap here would cost the Blood Devil her head, of this Sorina was sure, as a wetness that smelled of blood ran down her forehead, carelessness here would indeed be costly.. But all the same It Was Fun.

Spinning her Lance up to intercept the blow, the pair meet with another exchange of blows, though Sorina was being forced on the defense bit by bit, while the suicidal ramming had hurt them both Sorina was already battered and bloodied from the previous battle and thus at a disadvantage, though even at full strength the exchange of blows told Sorina it would not have been easy. "Ehehe, why are you with trash like that I wonder, I wonder...such a waste.."

As the pair exchange another flurry of blows Sorina aims to buy time for others to assist, or an Airship fighter to blast the Dragon Girl in the back, twisting and turning, the pair perform a series of acrobatic dives and sweeps, aiming to kill one another in each swing they take, miss and deflect. Adrenaline and determination was about all Sorina had left to run on, and what blood still remained in her body. Boosting her self towards the Lughanta the Dragon was quick to pull ahead, cutting her off, swinging her Claymore in large Arcs as the pair flew alongside, clangs and sparks fly. "Ehehehe! I like that look in your eyes! Show me what you got!" Breaking into a battle roll opposite of one another, the pair fly upwards and loop, closing into a close range melee punctured by a corkscrew. It was hard to tell if the Dragon Youkai was enjoying herself or seriously wanted her dead out of seething anger.

Alternating her two hands with the poleblade, twirling the blade freely in the open sky, rather than the confines of a ship. Ruu's sword comes down with sudden speed, with the same rules of space and motion aiding her downward strike that seemingly split the air around it. Grabbing her blade with both hands Sorina grunts and struggles, steel and demonic blood clangs and chips, as her spear head finally tips up and over. Prying the blade back and sending it sliding, in turn the Dragon Girl sets about her own defense, sending the arrowhead crashing past her wings, only to be momentarily caught off guard as a series of bat shaped blood knives narrowly miss her face. Letting out a mighty roar the claymore is used in a fiery offense, twisting and twirling the blade hand in hand over her head to chase Sorina back, whom can only defend. As the blades interlock again Sorina is just able to shove her back, recalling all of her training and using it to just stay alive.

Breathing heavily as she parries another blow Sorina bursts away to lead Ruu on another chase when suddenly a voice comes over her magitek communication device.

Shinobu?

This plan was insane... No it was suicidal.. But what choice did she have? Defeat was the least of her worries if this continued to drag on. The question now was how to grab her, that sword was more than a simple problem. "Ehehehe...EHEHEHEHEH! AHAHAHAAHAH!" Allowing herself to be enraged, Sorina throws caution to the wind, embarking on an offense, that's just how it was, she was going to be a self-propelled target.

Exchanging another set of blows, Sorina waits for the sword to go wide, parrying then locking it with her spear, as she presses in tightly to Ruu. With the long sword locked behind her back, Sorina reaches in with her right arm, clawing her fingers in through the tough skin to get a purchase. With sweat and blood streaming down her face Sorina oddly for her personality, or perhaps because of; Honors the Dragon Girl with a bit of words of Wisdom. "Either way we both are going to get shot here..You know I won't let go, and if I did I'll keep coming." Pausing for a breath the Aristocrat grins dimly.

"I would wish to fight you again, but should you fall here and simply vanish, soldiers like you would be worth enough praise for a Pardon, I swear that on the name of House Caramitru. We would like that look in your eyes." Coughing a bit, Sorina doubted it would be so easy to get an angry dragon to back down, but ultimately it didn't matter.

"Even if you get me off, or kill me, look around you, Yellowbeard is finished." Letting her eyes drop briefly towards the Golden Midas, the battle was clearly going against him, it could be told from even here. "I say this as your enemy, but also as a soldier in Arms...your blade can earn favor with people who hunt trash, rather than spending your nights and days waiting for a knife to the back.. Or a neck in the gallows, you can only run so far."

In fact it really didn't matter, the talk while true was also to buy that crucial bit of time, besides if they weren't aimed for a shoot to kill the Dragon Girl had options before her, if she just faked death or surrendered. Even if enemies having to smash a fighter this masterful would be something to be upset over... either way Sivla was likely looking at them both in that huge rifle of hers.... Coughing a bit the Aristocrat smiles wryly.

"Oh My, I'm talking far too much. May we fight again.. Lizard." Concluding the last bit on a soft smile she closes her grip, and interlocks her right leg around Ruu's left, flapping her wings counter Ruu could at the least free her left hand and attempt to fight back, or to simply overpower her with flight, but judging by Sorina's hold she fully intended for them both to get shot through, for such willingness either the Demon was insane, or they were aiming for a non-lethal shot possibly.

This was going to hurt even more than this battle had... Those weapons thankfully were too weak to get rid of such honorable combat, but they did make it a pain in the ass. Awaiting the impact from Silva's rifle round, she was rather curious what Ruu would do, provided the Proud Youkai even listened. While she would much rather live, if she fell here today, it was highly unlikely that Ruu would live to see the sunrise, a battle of attrition was being fought and decided by who could afford to bleed the most, as if aware of that fact, Sorina's jagged sharp tooth smile is ever present.

"Sleep with the fishes, dogs!!"

Cera already evaded to the right side when Yellow Beard fired his hand cannon. She noticed that Ádalé did not evade as the fireball was traveling towards her, but Cera was too far from the knight to do anything. Suddenly, Laura put herself in the fireball's trajectory and took the full impact of the fireball. The half-Infernal gasped in horror when she heard her cries when the fireball engulfed her. Fortunately, Laura was still standing, albeit barely when the fireball dissipated from view. Cera was glad that the valiant Inquisitor was alive, although she shook her head as the situation could have gone better if Ádalé decided not to freeze at that particular moment.

"Those with area-of-effect weapons try to keep Yellow Beard's crew busy! The others engage him at melee! Play it safe. Don't fight one on one. Work as a team, synch up your attacks, he can't defend himself from every side. I... just..."

Despite her severe injuries, Laura barked orders to everyone.

"I just need a moment.... please." She coughed blood afterwards.

Cera's eyes narrowed. With the squad leader temporarily out of action, someone has to watch over as the pirates may focus on Laura instead of dealing the others. Her crimson eyes then moved to Yellow Beard, where Drayton immediately charged at the towering pirate.

"Well, you heard the lady... Keep the grunts off me so I can cut this bastard open!"

The black-haired sellsword was going to follow him, but she saw a figure approaching Laura in high speed. With her Scarlet Princess in hand, she dashed towards Laura's position as fast as possible.

"Look out!"

She reached at the Inquisitor's locaton, just in time to block a scimitar moving towards at Laura's neck. The pirate, who was wearing a yellow bandanna with a heavy stubble on his battle-hardened face, smiled.

"Not bad. Nice sword too."

Then, both of them clashed blades. Unlike the pirates from before, it was obvious that the bandanna pirate has survived countless battles. He could be one of the few high ranking lieutenants serving under Yellow Beard. However, something also tells her he could be a mercenary too, judging from his appearance and fighting style. Realizing that she was now equally matched, Cera took a defensive stance, deflecting blows from the fast moving scimitar. Although she now handles the large magitek sword one handed, she felt that she cannot keep up with her opponent's speed.

"Give it up, woman. Obviously you can't handle that huge sword you have there."

Gritting her teeth, Cera intercepted another incoming attack by the elite pirate. However, the deflection did little to him, and as a result he deftly moved to her left side and did a horizontal slashing attack. Fatigued, Cera was unable defend herself in time and the scimitar cut through her armor. The half-Infernal groaned in pain, taking a few steps backwards, while grasping on the new wound.

"Erraaaaaaaarghhhhhhh!"

Cera lets out a semi-demonic roar, her battered body tensed up, attempting to hold off the bodily pains. Her crimson eyes are now glowing, and every breath that she exhaled become vapors. With a tight grip on her magitek sword, Cera turns the hilt repeatedly, creating sound of a revving engine. The bandanna pirate in front of her smirked in excitement.

"A half-breed with a motorized sword. Heh."

The half-Infernal roared again, charging at the pirate. While swinging the Scarlet Princess at the pirate, she twisted the hilt and pulled the trigger at the same time. The Erchius propellant system was activated, spraying Erchius on the sword and the pirate as well.

"What the---?!"

By the time the elite pirate realized what was happening, their blades clashed, causing an red explosion between them as the sprayed Erchius got ignited, sending the pirate tumbling on ground.

Cera then turned at Laura. Noticing that the white-haired knight requires assistance, she revved Scarlet Princess and coated the sword with Erchius.

"Inferno..."

With both of hands on the magitek sword, Cera swung it with all her might.

"Slash!"

A flaming crescent-shaped wave was cast from the Scarlet Princess, traveling towards one of the pirates that intend to engage Laura. The wave then struck the pirate who was unaware of the attack, sending him flying away from the Inquisitor. As soon Cera was done, she heard movements approaching towards her. The half-Infernal quickly turned, with her sword up. It was an attack from the pirate bandanna from before, and Cera immediately guarded it. The elite pirate seems to have suffered injuries from Cera's previous attack.

"An exploding sword eh? It's gonna be a blast fighting with you!"

The pirate smirked once more, before they clashed blades again. Despite the elite pirate's acrobatic swordmanship with his scimitar, Cera this time managed to defend herself properly, as she was familiar with the pirate's movements. After a few clashes, both of them found themselves in a blade lock. With Cera's enhanced strength has the upper hand, she pushed him away and kicked him in his gut.

After shrugging the pain away from the previous attack, the pirate decided that he had enough.

"Let's... end this!"

After spinning his scimitar in a showy fashion, the pirate has his weapon trained at his opponent. The scimitar began to glow. At the same time, Cera revved her Scarlet Princess repeatedly, ready to end the fight as well.

"Sonic...!"

The pirate began to call his attack. Then his scimitar fully glowed in white.

"THRUUUUUUSSSST!"

As soon he was finished, the elite pirate bolted to Cera's position in full speed, leaving a trail of dust behind him. At the same time...

"RAWRAAAAAAArrghhhhh!"

The half-Infernal roared, her weapons outstretched, the Exceed System in active while dashing towards the pirate.

When the fighters meet, they used their weapons and...

A huge reddish explosion occurred between the two of them, with the elite pirate sent tumbling backwards, as well as Cera. Both the fiery sellsword and the pirate weakly stood up, before staring at each other. Then the bandanna pirate lets out a short groan and staggered, before holding on a large slashing wound his body.

"You..." He coughed blood in between his words. "You win..."

The pirate then crumbled to the ground, signifying that Cera has won the battle. However, she felt a sharp pain on her left shoulder, causing her to stagger and held on the wound. She felt her left arm numb and trembling with pain, unable to move it. The severity of the left arm injury becomes even more noticeable when blood was dripping from her left fingers.

"Damn it..."

She cursed as her left arm became useless. Then, volleys of ranged elemental rounds fell on her position. Cera lets out a surprised cry, before struggling to evade the elemental rounds fired towards her. She managed to dodge a few rounds, before she has to use her weapon to block the incoming attacks. Even then, it was not enough. A fire round struck squarely to her body, causing her to fall down in pain. Cera felt her body was at its limit, as she unable to get up on her feet. Her eyelids began to feel unusually heavy and felt nothing but pain.

"I'm not..." She groaned. "Going to..."

Then the half Infernal heard a series of explosions, most likely artillery fire. Using her weapon as a crutch, Cera once again managed to get up, but she was in a bad shape to continue the battle. Realizing that backup has arrived as she witnessed the Draconus mercenaries dealing with the new batch of pirates, she lets out a sigh of relief. With her right arm sluggishly carrying her Scarlet Princess, Cera groggily moved towards Laura.

"Are you..." Cera paused in between her words. "...alright?" She said with an uncanny smile, her face and body covered with her own blood.

@Agatha's group @Shinobu's group

The pirates surrounded them from all three sides, unleashing volley upon volley of elemental projectiles at Marumei's barricade. Unless situations developed soon, their chances of survival were minimal at best. "Damn it... we have no choice, but we have to move!" Hell, any other action was better than staying put waiting for the giant card barriers to crumble. It was at this moment that the brunette captain received a transmission from the little uppity flier.

"Yeah, Shinobu?!" The captain received the call with a raised tone, more out of the need to offset the cacophony around her than spite for the raven-haired woman. "Right, Over!" Wonderful, Shinobu had a plan. Damn it, if only she knew the dragon youkai would just leave her comrades, Agatha would have a strong argument against Shinobu's plan to split up. Ah well, no time to ponder about that. The first priority was to move from this spot. "Marumei! Move your barrier forward! We're going straight at the corridor!"

"About damned time!" The blonde Lilim snapped back, "Guys, keep your heads down! We''re moving!" Working her enlarged magitek cards, the witch moved her barricades along with the group. The ones at her left and right sides joining to perform a taller and thicker one that'd shield them against the rushing horde of pirates. Unbeknownst to her, it was also the correct move for another reason entirely, which was preventing friendly fire from Shinobu's explosive display.

"Nnngh!!" Both Agatha and Marumei gritted their teeth as flame and shockwave struck the barricade behind them. Their ears ringing and then everything went quiet for a few long seconds, broken by the static of Shinobu's confirmation inquiry. "Hah... well..." The captain peeked over the barrier, grimaced, then knelt back down, "Enemies eliminated. Over." Rest in pieces, pirate scums, literally. Now then, all that was left were these armored elites the dragon left behind. "Alright, lay everything on them then rush into the bridge!" Agatha screamed out, both to her team and to Shinobu's.

"Ah, fer fuck's sake... What now...?!"

What is it with him and these women of other races giving him "the look"? It's the third time now ever since he boarded that battleship. In quick succession, even! These quote unqoute "lovely ladies" definitely need a chill pill. Must be on their period or something, if that kind of struggle even applies to non-human women. As if he would know. Regardless, it seemed that the Blood Devil didn't quite get the memo that Herman gave her the breathing room to deal with the dragon youkai.

Cocking Rocky and Road by pumping his arm backwards, the smith peeked over the corner once more and witnessed the clash between the women in their indefinite period, on equal footing. The behemoth pirates that remained were recovering, ready to assist their commander. Herman fired an explosive round, his aim now unencumbered. Hoping to dislodge and disable their ranged weaponry, he directed his shots solely at their mitts. "Ngh!" "Grah!" And it worked. The occurring small explosions staggered them on their feet, their firepower now greatly reduced.

"Whew... Now t--"

..............

"Eh?"

Sorina was being pushed backwards, towards their general direction, by a great deal of force in the form of an even more enraged dragon youkai. What the hell did she do to get the opposition so fucking pissed?! Herman was forced a swift barrel roll to the side; an inch and a split second closer and he would have been caught by the berserker's deadly rush. In fact, the insane blitzkrieg grazed his right arm.

"Ngrhh!"

The smith gritted his teeth, forced to drop Road on the ground and leaned over to the corridor's wall, his left palm rubbing his injured right arm.

"Fuck! That hurt...

He glanced upwards, the two aerial beings now smashing through the ceiling and going up. Waaaaaaaaay up. Shinobu's surprise attack on the little girl failed, but it seemed they were still preoccupied upstairs. Perhaps they'll do the drop on the once-more recuperating behemoths in front of them? Groaning, Herman slowly recovered his weapon, a moderate distance from his reach. It was then that Marumei warned them of the upcoming dangers, in the form of more pirates coming from both sides of the intersection.

"Gotta be... kiddin' me..."

As Herman slowly got up, the first wave arrived from the left and right, firing shots. The Lilim erected barriers from her cards, defending them and delaying the backup's advance. But it was painfully obvious that it won't hold for long. They were completely sandwiched from all three sides, now with the big boys getting up and pulling out their scimitars. Should have killed them when they had the chance.

*huff *huff*

"The commander can deal with that vampire bitch. Without your shield, you folks are fucked." The big pirate uttered, raising his scimitar and resting it on the back of his shoulder. Approaching the weakened smith, he continued. "It was a foolish idea to come here, cretins. At least you can pay for your foolishness with your lives." Getting back up on his feet, Herman snickered. In the midst of the confrontation, the smith's footwear was quivering.

"Heh... Heheh..."

"The fuck's so funny, little man?" His opposition inquired. "Laughing in the face of death? Pathetic." Slowly raising his gigantic scimitar once more, the pirate moved in for the kill. Then...

*BOOOOOOOM*

"?!"The pirate and his remaining bulky compatriots were in wide-eyed awe, for what was behind the intensely smiling tanned smith, the congregation of their backup was blown away in one bang, shockwave roaring through the sides of the corridor's intersection and disorienting the rest. "What the fuck...?" At the same time, Herman's boots were glowing, emanating from the fuel cells attached to it.

"Erchius check... Full. Erchius consumption: Moderate. Ready for take off."

"You little shit!" The pirate's raised scimitar came crashing down full force, targeted towards Herman. But, no matter how precise and powerful his swing may be, it wouldn't matter if his motion was slow. Using the momentum from his initlal kneeling position, Herman jumped and boosted up in the air, emitting smoke, barely dodging the massive blade that landed on the ground. Backflipping through the air and positioning himself facing the front, the smith burst forward through the air, a trail of smoke following behind him.

"Get him!" Another pirate attempted a vertical slash at the flying smith, but the smith passed by it,. "W-what the hell?!" As Herman circled around the area, the elites' defending locus was quickly being enveloped with thick smoke, emitted from the man's boots. The generated smog disoriented the enemies, hindering their sight, and causing them to cough. *cough* *cough* *cough* *cough* "D-don't... *cough* falter!"

"Now, fellas!!"

While the encompassing smoke should have affected the mercenaries' vision as well, the sheer size of these veterans alone along with their loud hacking made them sitting ducks for the others to finish them off. "GRAHHHHHH!" The buff pirate who was out to kill Herman earlier slashed diagonally, clearing a portion of the smog and giving him breathing room. But what awaited him was...

... a flying smith beelining full-speed towards his direction, right-arm bent backward. "Ngh!!" It was too late for any reaction, now that he had made his strong-but-sluggish swing.

"Checkmate."

Aiming for the veteran's rough countenance, Herman drove his right arm forward, hitting him full-force with Road, complemented by pulling the tonfa's trigger, creating a literal explosive right-arm punch. "GAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH--" The ensuing explosion and momentum propelled Herman backward, landing on the ground at the exact moment his opponent dropped with a loud THWAM! The smoke cleared from the impact of the blast, and by that time, the other veterans should have fallen by now as well, if his teammates took the opportunity to strike correctly.

*huff* *huff* "Ngh... Haaaa... Damn..."

Dropping on the ground once more, Herman's previously sore right arm was now smoking, caused by his bold assault. An explosion from point-blank range with tonfazookas? Bad idea.

Yumi%20Tailline_zpszgkzwdji.jpg

Complying with Shinobu's orders, Yumi runs forward. Where before Yumi always verbally acknowledged her orders, this time Yumi did not. More accurately, she could not. Yumi needed every ounce of oxygen she could muster just to keep her mind and body clear. Yumi could hear the sound of heavy armor on the other side of the corridor. She knew that there could be ambushers, but this seemed awfully soon. Worried about getting pushed into a corner, Yumi moved as fast as her little legs would take her. Noticing that both pirates were melee combatants, Yumi breathed a sigh of relief. All the ground she had gained thusfar would protect Helen from entering into a close quarters engagement, and those pirates couldn't move too quickly out of respect of her dagger's range.

Yumi could tell that these pirates weren't like many that she had fought thusfar due to the carefully, trained movements they used while approaching. Eventually, Yumi finds herself steadily losing ground to an evolving footsies game, where the first to make a move would inevitably take a fatal blow. Neither Yumi nor the pirates dared make that move, but left to play this game much longer, Yumi would find herself backed to the wall. Yumi continues to retreat, hoping that Helen can give her the opening she needs to turn this situation around.

Helen was more than a little exhausted, though most of it was magically and physically she wasn't that tired, still though, as a Lilim she couldn't rely on physical strength in most situations.

However, while she felt capable of struggling through another fight or two, she wasn't entirely sure Yumi could, she had been watching the girl the woman throughout the fight and had seen her pull off many amazing, and most likely exhausting maneuvers.

Still, they had orders and while she may have ignored several others, this time it could get multiple people killed.

Watching the stalemate that Yumi and the pirates appeared to be locked in, the young Lilim mustered up what remained of her magical energy, a fire based attack would be both too inefficient and far too likely to cause friendly fire, and the pirates seemed vastly more skilled than the pirates she had fought so far, so melee was out of the question… So wind magic it was!
Feeling the familiar sensation of magical exhaustion she summoned a wind inside the ship and weaved it around Yumi to strike the pirates.
While far from dangerous or even painful, it was still enough to throw most people off their guards… Whether those pirates were like most people or not was a whole other question though.

Although Helen took care to ensure Yumi did not get caught up in the powerful winds, Yumi couldn't help but see an opportunity in the gale force. Throwing her hand into the wind, Yumi allows her body to be thrown forward, giving her an angle on the weak point on the backside of the pirate's armor. While normally such a maneuver would have been easily countered, the force of Helen's wind attack made this impossible. Slash. Landing a gorey horizontal slash across one pirate's back, Yumi lands like a spring against the floor, lunging with great force back towards Helen as she attacks the back of the knee of the second pirate.

Landing back into a neutral position, Yumi had succeeded in creating a win condition. Both pirates were cut across arteries, and would bleed out over the course of five minutes, with them rendered weakened to the point where Yumi could kill them far sooner. Yumi once again watches the pirates carefully. Now that the advantage had turned, she could not afford to get careless.

The pirate who had been slashed across the back managed to pull himself up through sheer force of will, he was in pain and losing blood fast, but if it was time for him to die… Then someone was going with him! Lunging forwards with the desperate force of a dying man, he prepared to impale Yumi on his sword.

Helen however, had been watching him closely, and though she was sure Yumi could probably hold off an injured pirate, she didn't want to take the risk and, burning some of the last dregs of her fuel, dashed forwards and caught the blade with one of her wings, the sharpened metal piercing through the weakened metal and getting caught in the internals.

She then used the other, still functional wing to hit the armored man with as much force as it could muster. However, this left her open to the other pirate, who had been waiting for a chance, and saw it in the now defenceless Lilim.

Seeing the skilled, well-thought out maneuvers devolve into the desperate last struggles of dying men made Yumi close her eyes out of some unannounced contemplations she so clearly was having. From this point, she already knew how each move would play out. Without even looking, she moves to slash the pirate which Helen left unaddressed. Yumi attacks the place he needs to draw back his weapon in order to strike Helen with the proper amount of force. Before he can even begin to swing at Helen, he helplessly drops his weapon to the floor. His wrist and all the connective tissue contained within were slit by Yumi's blade. With no further means of causing meaningful damage, the pirate tries to bash Yumi with his free arm, but Yumi rotates around his left side, stabbing him through the neck, ending his life. Finally, panting so hard she was practically hyperventilating, Yumi pounce onto the last remaining pirate, throwing her entire weight into stabbing the poor soul through the forehead.

Yumi falls down onto her knees, just barely able to retrieve her dagger from the man's skull, trying to gather herself after reaching her limit. Feeling weakness enter her body, she knew her adrenaline high that she'd been leveraging would fail her. Yumi coughs forcefully, desperately trying to avoid passing out.

Even to someone like Helen, it was obvious Yumi was completely spent, and didnt appear to have the strength to stand, nevermind keep fighting, that along with her own lack of remaining combat options was enough to make up Helen's mind.

They would be next to useless in combat, so with a sad sigh and a promise to come back when the battle was over, she released her ruined Seraphic Liberators and dropped them on the ground, afterwhich she quickly moved to Yumi's side to hold her up, so that if she lost consciousness she wouldn't hit the ground.

Yumi, steadied by Helen, lays against her. Yumi tries to mouth a message to Helen, unsure if her message would make it through.

The message made it through, or at least enough for Helen to be able to fill in the gaps, she had to report to Shinobu… Not an easy task with their current state, but as long as no pirates jumped her she felt it would be okay.

However she wasn't leaving Yumi behind and picked the girl up bridal style, more than a little relieved at how light she was.

Fortunately there weren't too many pirates left at this point so she was able to find Shinobu without much trouble.

"Umm… Shinobu!"

She called out to the woman.

"We took out two armored pirates, but im not sure if either of are really able to do much more in a fight!"

Taka felt like someone had grabbed his head and was squeezing really hard, and at the same time punching him repeatedly in the gut. Buras had been swatted away as if he were nothing. And the force was enough to break some of the fragile bird bones. Luckily the damage to both Buras and Taka was limited, thanks to Buras dispelling himself to prevent any further backlash to Taka. He would have been summoned back, but currently Taka was still reeling from the mental backlash and they were being pushed by yet more pirates down the hall and towards some particularly special ones. Ones that had managed to evade or nullify his rounds. They served as a focal point, a place to grab onto reality again and compose himself. The pricks had waved off his shots like they were nothing. Well, let's see how they think of them from this range.

Having been hunched over from the backlash, even while being pushed along, Taka straightened himself out and loaded three rounds into his rifle, grimacing as the echos of the backlash bounced around. He could make do with three rounds. He'd prefer less, but these pirates proved to require a bit more attention. And so, with his rifle now loaded with three rounds, he raises it to his shoulder and advances on one of the brutes. He took careful aim, and fired his first shot. The brute, who had a shield, let it ricochet off and continued charging with reckless abandon, unaware of his comrades problems.

Continuing his steady pace, Taka chambers in the second round and waits for the brute to be almost on top of him before firing. At that range, he was bound to hit something. And he did, the brutes hip to be exact. A bit lower then he expected, but it still worked. Quickly switching his rifle into it's sword form, he deflects the hammer blow that was attempting to crush him before burying the hilt of his sword into the brutes weapon shoulder, effectively pushing him. With a bullet in his waist and being in an awkward position, the behemoth fell. And as he did so, Taka made several clean cuts. One to the weapon arm, to make it useless. One to the back of the leg, to make sure he can't get up, and finally a deep jab into the shoulder of the shield arm. That all done, he switches back to his rifle, places the barrel to the man's head, and pulls the trigger, putting the cur down like the rabid mutt that he was.

[Guardian -- A title reserved to only the most cunning and strongest fighters of swiss. Or lucky bastards like John.]
"Cut into the floor? Are-" Shinobu was gone before John could ever finish. He let out a sigh and followed her direction, twenty paces down to the left, a sigh, another thirty down, and a final sigh. He then took his amulet off his neck and dropped it, he took his hand and dragged it down his face in frustration and mumbled. "Explode."

On his command the amulet erupted in a fury of flames consuming the floor around it and John ran passed, slid along the floor, scooping up his amulet and landing with a roll onto the floor. Hopefully his comrades would follow suit because the explosion certainly grasped the attention of the more adept pirates, made clear by their combined preemptive kick to John's side, forcing him into a wall. John regained his breath and looked at the four opponents before him, they were already acting, but so was he. In a quick maneuver, along with some luck, he ran passed each blade coming at him with the speed of a cheetah.

"Thank you, Drill Sergeant Urich!" John exclaimed as he brought up his amulet and then smiled, taunting his opponents. When the enemy focused on him again he spoke. "Let there be light."

His amulet flashed, but the pirates had instinctively rolled away, seeing its destructive power from earlier. While he was not able to leave them blinded, John got a breath in and readied his stance. He held his blade, defensively, waiting for someone in either group to initiate. Mind you all of this happened in the span of seconds, by the time John had completed an exhale his team had most likely entered the fray.

When he was joined by his comrades, the field had evened, and John immediately switched to the offensive. He rushed in holding the blade forward, and went for a lunging stab on one of the pirates, but the attack was easily parried as expected by both men. A friend of the pirate's managed to scrape John's hip, but it was nothing more than a flesh wound to the man and the Guardian stood ready to fight still.

Cocky as all hell after seeing how risky John was the pirate pointed the cutlass at John and shouted to his friends. "This one's mine lads! I'll join ye in a second."

"That's so stupid. Join me whenever you can boys!" John shouted to the guys backing up Agatha.

In the little time John took to say that, the pirate before him tried to get a sneak attack on him. The cute lunge he made at John was blocked with a slight movement of the blade. John tilted his head and stared on annoyed.

"Hold onto your trousers please." John said as he made a swing at the man who decided to dodge rather than challenge John's blade. "So, you're not stupid."

"Neither are ya lad!" The pirate said as he dashed across the floor trying to pressure John. Due to John's stance being broken to make the swing, he was forced to evade, but was able to get a kick on the guy's posterior knocking him back. He didn't let up though, he continued to kick the man, constantly switching the side he held his blade on to come down for the counter. The pirate soon found himself embarrassingly overwhelmed by the playground trick. Though, like any good fighter, he predicted it eventually and retaliated with a violent, rage driven, slash. It was met with John's counter, and he leaned in to the pirate on his knees.

"Hey, lad? You doin' all right?" John said, mimicking the pirate's accent.

"You makin' fun o'me?" The pirate asked.

"No, just stalling." John said as he let go of his amulet.

"Well, quit it!" The pirate shouted as he broke the stalemate, swatting John's blade away, and popped onto his feet. "Now, fight me!"

The pirate was serious this time and came in with a hard slash from the top that John blocked, and then followed with a series of smaller slashes that John continued to block and parry, until the pirate needed to retreat and rethink his plan of attack, and that's when John came in for his exchange of blows. He made a quick step in, using his blade like a shield to get close enough to deliver a jab to the pirate's side, but upon realizing that John was going in for a close-quarters fight to get the best use out of his blade's weight, the pirate distance himself and resorted to his pesky lunging again.

John sat there annoyed and frustrated, as each time he tried to get close the pirate kept him at a distance with his blade. Finally, John had gotten sick of it and sheathed his sword. He then proceeded to dodge the attacks of the pirate while he took off his amulet. The pirate then retreated, fearing the trinket.

"What're ya' doin' with the toy? Don't insult me!" The pirate shouted trying to encourage John to fight with his slow sword.

"Somethin' pretty ballsy." John said as he walked forward.

"I can tell that much!" The pirate tried to scare with a quick slash, but John anticipated the scare tactic and took the tiny cut to smack the man's blade down and then come down with the amulet.

"EXPLODE!"
The amulet came down as the blade came up to stab John once more, but the stab was of course thrown off by the explosion. So, was the pirate and John. Though, John didn't take time to recuperate and jumped onto his dazed opponent, wailing on him, in a simulated drunken fury. When the man could no longer move John got up with a ringing in his head and crazy grin. He looked forward, barely able to hear due to his own instrument of destruction and blinked a few times before he could really shake it off.

"Whoo. Lucky this thing barely had any juice left in it, that would've taken me with it. Just a super lucky day today, yeah. Glass half full, glass half full. See? What'd I say? Ballsy. Okay, who is next?" John said getting ready with his blade as he slipped on his amulet.

Charlotte was fine on the second line. In fact, she was okay with playing second fiddle to Sorina, too; the bloodthirsty blood-devil had a more murderous, hungry streak than Charlotte, the humble vintner, sommelier, and adventuress. As it was, it had been many years since the golden-haired vampire partook of a battle on a scale as grand and bloody as this one. Even with her pureblooded counterpart taking the lion's share of the combat, Charlotte was healthily exercising her entire arsenal in a way that made her positively glow. Her sword ran red with the lifeblood of the enemy, and uninhibited, a great ball of crimson accompanied her person, lashing out and piercing with unrelenting thorns any that dared to enter her area of engagement.

It was all rather fun, but fighting to her heart's content was not something that could last forever.

The red-eyed girl received Shinobu's message loud and clear. It was creative—she liked it. Charlotte was already in position to bail out her counterpart. Lifting the blood from her stained sword, the winged vampire shot up through the broken ceiling with outstretched wings, playing her role in the closing act of the pair's aerial duel.

And it was just in time. Shinobu's plan perpetuated itself like clockwork. Swooping in to take into her arms a falling Sorina, the victim of Shinobu's crazy plan, Charlotte obliged.

"Still have some blood left in you, princess~?"

Shooting off a carefree remark at the barely conscious girl, she retreated back into safety.
