Working on it.

I swear I had posted 90% of a sheet two days ago.
Apparently, I was quite wrong.

Ahh well, got a better idea.

Am I too late to get in on this? It sounds doooooope.

Civilian Name: Cody Wright
Mage Name:
Age: 37
Gender Identity: Male

Appearance: Standing five foot seven, a barrel chest and muscular arms, Cody gives the impression that he's almost a cube in shape. While he is muscular, he is far from chiselled or toned, but has strength for simply working hard, every day of his life since he was young. Has dark brown hair, with a bit of a red hint in his beard. Light blue eyes, strangely enough.
Presentation: Cody wears a revolving mix of 4 pairs of pants and 5 shirts. No graphics, just plain work clothes that are getting perhaps a bit stained around the collar, and slightly threadbare. During colder months, he is rarely seen without his heavy, light grey hoodie, or dark blue coat. He shaves his hair once every month or so, and shaves his beard maybe twice a month. He just doesn't seem to take much care in his appearance.

Primary Motivation(s): To reconnect with his mother, and his half-sister who he has yet to meet, on the other side of the Empire.
Secondary Motivation(s): To live, not just exist. Cody feels like he is caught in a trap of working double shifts, just to to afford eating and sleeping. He can't remember the last time he saw his friends, let alone anyone who was not part of The Diamond. Simply put, he is trying to find a way out of the depression, anxiety, and sheer apathy that has consumed him for the past five or seven years.
Obstacles & Obligations: Not much to be honest, he hasn't had much contact with friends in the past several years, and he tried his best to stay out of debt, though there was one or two loans that he might have forgotten about years ago. On the other hand, other than his mother essentially loaning him the money he would need to make the move? He doesn't have anyone to call in favours on.

Approach to Problem Solving: Avoidance. He used to be much more straight forward, relying upon rational thought to solve problems, researching when he wasn't sure of the options or potential long term effects of large issues. He stood up for his ideals, and wasn't afraid to stand up for others. In the past several years though, Cody has retreated from the world, just sinking into a state of despondence.
Example of them solving a problem:

Magical Power Utility Style: Honestly, would like something outside of my usual comfort zone. So...something other than physical modifications, or defensive abilities.
Magic Power: < blank for now, you'll fill this in when you get it >

History & Background: Cody was, at one point, a kid of high spirits and enthusiasm for life. When he could, he joined CRIT, and has seen combat. He mostly did March Patrols, helping to protect some of the smaller towns from the monsters and creatures that threatened him. He mustered out when he was 26, and started working as a civilian. He did well for a while, but for one reason or another, his life just seemed to start falling apart just after he turned thirty. Curveballs just seemed to start coming in out of nowhere, like his father getting mugged, getting into an accident, then passing away within a year. The company he was working for being bought and sold, leaving him in the lurch.

It was four years ago, that he came to The Diamond, and managed to get two part time jobs, doing heavy labour in two different factories. Life hasn't gotten much worse, but it hasn't gotten better. So, when he finally responded to one of the several calls from his mother, and listened to her offer? He decided..perhaps the only way to break out of this cavernous rut he was living in, was to get the fuck outta dodge, and start over entirely.

So this has us at

Tomorrow, you say? Hrhrhrm.. I think I could whip something up by then, if you'll have me.
well i mean now tomorrow means today for me

i'm going to be doing the post sometime after either i get to do my laundry or get my eyebrows done

I know yesterday I was like "I'll try and pump a sheet out tonight" but then we got started with Haikyuu and then it was Princess Jellyfish and then it was Howl's Moving Castle and then we just kept on going with Little Witch Academia and Colorful. By the time I got to sleep it was 7am. Whoops.

Anyways, I gotta go hop in the shower (I'm maybe meeting my roommate's mom for the first time. Shit's real man.) I'll be working on the CS aside from that, though. If you feel you need to get the IC post up and I still haven't posted anything just lmk and I'll sit my ass down and wait for the next arc.

Maggie Potter
Trans Female / Twenty Four / Escort

"Call a jack a jack. Call a spade a spade. But always call a whore a lady."

presentation// Chesterfield is a difficult place to be trans. Women who stand too tall or are broad of shoulder and low of voice tend to get suspicious looks, and men who are shorter or have wide hips are the subject of rumor. Maggie Potter, despite having spent years becoming who she is today, still struggles with the sort of confidence that, ironically, is the only thing that could protect her from bigotry. Even when she wears her finest clothes - which come from a small, hard-won collection gifted by or pilfered from clients - she slouches somewhat, talks softly, and has a hard time making eye contact. She understands, of course, that comfort in one's own body is a better shield against cruelty than beauty, but it's also much harder to wield.

motivation// Above all else, Maggie wants to be seen as a woman, by all those around her, and by herself. Even if detransitioning would mean better job prospects, it's not something she's prepared to do. She knows who she is, and she means to stand by it. Beyond that, she dreams of the day she no longer has to sell herself to get by. She'll continue to do so until she's paid for everything she needs, surgeries and the like, but she hates every second of it. She desires love, not a roll in the sack that ends with her being thrown out, half-naked and barely compensated. Love, however, seems less likely to her than an end to this sort of work. She's more or less resigned herself to loneliness.

obstacles and obligations// As the favored play thing of several foul-tempered men, Maggie is not without ties to the city. Her leaving could raise the ire of a prominent banker, a moody drug lord, and a candidate for sheriff, among others.

problem solving// As someone whose story is rarely heard, Maggie considers it deeply important to consider all sides of a situation. She does her best to avoid conflict by putting herself in the shoes of those who oppose her, and striving to understand them. Once she does, she forgives them and tries to put out any fires. It's no wonder she finds herself in tough spots fairly often with an attitude like this.

magic// Unknown.

history// Life before womanhood doesn't exist in Maggie's mind. She's blocked as many of those memories as she can, and she certainly doesn't share them with the other residents of the Diamond in the Rough. As far as any of them know, she could have transitioned early, or just before moving in.

The truth of the matter is that she came out at a young age and was forbidden to take steps towards self-actualization. Her parents were fervently religious and did everything they could to squash the seeds of femininity growing within her. When they still hadn't done so by the time she turned eighteen, she disappeared without a word, unable to bear their presence any longer. To avoid them hunting her down, she took nothing but the clothes on her back.

The earliest days were her worst, scrounging for food and taking any client who could accept her poor makeup and tattered clothes if it meant them getting off. But Maggie is nothing if not determined. She started to save up, and bit by bit, made her way up from nothing. The Diamond in the Rough may not be much, but it's actually a step in the right direction for her.

Lordy, that was a coding nightmare. I hope I'm not too late. Also, I hope it's cool that I left the magic thing blank, I sorta feel the same as everyone else. I'll take anything, but I'm the sort of writer that likes torturing my characters, so I wouldn't mind the sort of power she hates actually using. Some sort of seduction/pheromones kinda thing.

Civilian Name: Parker Rothwell

Age: 20

Gender Identity: Agender. They use they/them pronouns.

Appearance: Tall and thin from stress. Parker's not very physically imposing. Like, they can maybe lift a heavier salmon? They definitely don't have a gym membership. The long hair gets inconvenient, so it's often tied back, but it's never occurred to them to just cut it. Nails are bitten to the quick, and there are small, faded scars across their legs and stomach; relics from a childhood run in with chicken pox. They got the whole Don't scratch! spiel, but they've never been the best at following directions. They're extremely near-sighted, and can't function without their glasses.

Presentation: Parker is intense. Though they aren't physically intimidating they more than make up for it with sheer force of will. They approach life with a certain level of determination and bullheadedness that can make others uncomfortable. They are not interested in compromise. Parker often gets caught up in the moment; the now consumes them. They aren't worried about the future, it'll roll around soon enough. This intensity can leave them struggling with self care, so they've set up an elaborate series of reminders on their phone. Drink some water, take your anxiety meds, for god's sake shower. That kind of thing. Clothes are an after thought. They buy mostly secondhand, and figure if it's clean and comfy it gets the job done. Parker doesn't often get around to actually folding laundry, so they can end up looking a little rumpled.

Primary Motivation(s): Authenticity is a driving force for Parker. They crave honesty and genuine passion. Yeah, life sucks. But at least they're real.

Secondary Motivation(s): Freedom. Parker would do anything to stop feeling so pinned.

Obstacles & Obligations: Parker's parents are the big one. Not only have they carefully cut Parker from their funds, but they've also ensured that any of Parker's useful past relationships will remain nonsalvageable unless they return home. New relationships are proving difficult as well: people aren't interested in what looks like a trust fund kid playing house. It doesn't help that living on their own means has been a huge culture shock. Parker hasn't been coping well.

Approach to Problem Solving: They aren't one for contemplation. If something needs to be dealt with immediately, that's what happens, often with the first solution that comes to mind. If something is a more long term kind of issue, it gets kicked to the side until they have no choice but to deal with it. They're a quick fix prodigy, so the issues usually end up resurfacing.

Magical Power Utility Style: I'm up for anything, but something rooted in human biology and physical manipulation could be sick as hell.

History & Background: Parker's childhood was not one of wanting. Born Lady Vivienne Parker Rothwell, Parker spent their early years being ferried around by various nannies and caretakers, charming the Count and Countess Rothwell's many acquaintances with their precocious nature. Of course, traits that are fawned over in a child are often found less desirable as the child grows older. Instead of independent they were now argumentative. Vocal became inflammatory and curious shifted to nosy. Tensions grew.

Parker's parents considered themselves patient. Children naturally go through a stage of rebellion, don't they? Let her go out, make some poor decisions. She'll learn her lesson, come home, and be prepared to step into her role in society. As long as she keeps it tasteful.

Of course, they had a breaking point. The Count and Countess had decided to host a party for their child's twentieth birthday. The family home was readied, and the invitations sent. The turn out was impressive, and Parker spent the night greeting guests, until they finally found an opportunity to slip away. Eventually Parker was expected to cut the cake, and their mother set off in search of them. She found Parker necking with a Duke's visiting niece in the library. The Countess was less than impressed.

Parker, who was never one to do something half way, explained to her that no, mom, I'm not a lesbian, bisexuals exist y'know and while we're at it you've really got to stop calling me your daughter. The party ended as earlier than planned and was followed by a screaming match of epic proportions.

The next day found Parker packing as much as they possibly could into a duffel bag , slinging a backpack over their shoulder, and hopping on the first bus out of there. They've never been big on planning. With the small sum of cash they had stowed a way, they set up in an internet cafe and got to roommate hunting. Since Parker is an only child is set to inherit the estate, their parents are trying their best to keep things contained while quietly praying that this whole thing proves to be just a phase. They froze Parker's accounts and cut their phone bill in an effort to get them to return home. Unfortunately for them, Parker's future is not looking bright.

Well, it's up.

For the first round of posting, here's what I'm looking for. Interaction between your characters through collabs. Interaction with mine too if you want. Interaction between them and any of the Diamond Dogs ( Courtney's friends ). If you can't get a hold of me to write them for you, I did include names and a brief description for each so you could do a 'final scene' between yourself and one of them on your own.

Secondly, anything you want to bring up along the trip, and the beginnings of the real thing at the pizzeria. What you guys are doing, what you ordered, who you're hanging with there if anyone, stuff like that.

I expect you guys to have your powers active by OFFICIAL GM POST #3. But until then, you guys are just normal duders on a road trip.

So, @Uyu @Tyrannosaurus Rekt @HerziQuerzi @Goldmarble @govangogh @Piper and @Niiwa

Have fun.

SIDE NOTE FOR PEOPLE WHO DIDN'T GET IN THE RP IN TIME.

Feel free to submit your sheets anyway. It's only closed for the duration of the first arc. Following its completion, I'll temporarily open this back up in case more people want in still.

Plan on Cody having the second vehicle, bit of a run down old sedan
Please, feel free to approach Cody

RP NOTE THING:

So while it may be tempting to, after seeing that wow these people are jerks, to write your character out manuevring them socially in some way, I'd ask for you to not do that.

Unless they manage to ( likely through ganging up, using outside sources and threats, lying, or otherwise cheating ) get you right back.

This is not the time for your character to be yeah look at me cool guy defeating the bully, this is a time for them to either shrug and leave or try to defeat them only to make things worse in some way. Or, heck, just be simply defeated lmao.

Thank you c:

COMMUNITY BUILDING ATTEMPT
brought to you by random scrubs on discord

So after some people suggested I just go for it, I decided to make a lil Discord Server. Nothing much. Mostly there to try to establish some sort of RP community so we're all closer and more chill and friendly and that'll make things go more smooth and fun. There's also a chatroom RP section within it, for smaller bits of conversation or dialogue and such that you feel wouldn't work in a big dumb post ( and you're not feeling up to doing a collab through other means ). So, y'know, you just take the RP from there, edit it, and make that a post instead and it's all good.

Anyway, so, yeah. @Uyu @Tyrannosaurus Rekt @HerziQuerzi @Goldmarble @govangogh @Piper and @Niiwa should all totally hang out in there and become friends c: so the RP can go swimmingly as you guys enjoy each other IC and OOC. *fingerguns*

Because if you guys don't enjoy everything you may start to leave the RP and all the work put into this may be for naught. *fingerguns*

I just really want this to work. *fingerguns plus nervous sweating*

So while I'm still trying to hash out the collab I need for the GM POST #2, really, you guys feel free to go ahead and do a second round of posting.

All the second round was gonna be was an opportunity to collab with other people than you did to begin with before the action begins.

So with my delays now because of someone, I figured may as well just let you guys know that so you can write if you wanna.
