It took a few more hours for Asuka to wake up fully. She gave a small groan and shifted, eyes fluttering open. Then the priestess gave a small squeak, blushing. A few moments passed before she remembered her hazy half-awake state of grabbing onto him. Lightly she cleared her throat to announce she was awake, cheeks rather pink.

He noticed her waking up, and more importantly her cute squeak, before she cleared her throat to signify that she was indeed awake. He only squeezed her a bit tighter, biting her gently on her neck in some instinctual desire, simply staying there for a while.

He relented after several minutes, letting her go as he climbed out of bed himself, heaving a massive yawn as he stretched his muscles

Asuka yelped, blushing darkly and bringing a hand up to her neck. She stayed nervously still, not sure what to do or whether she should try to move or not. Once he got up she sat up and eyed him a bit warily, pulling her sheets up to her chest as she tried to figure him out yet again, without much success.

He gave her a predatory look as he liked his lips. All he wanted to do was toy with her more, but he let out a controlled sigh, closing his eyes and focusing himself. He gave a regretful look before he quickly made his exit from her room. That was close. He shouldn't allow his instincts to take control like that with her. He might do something he'll regret

Asuka bit her lip when he licked his, seeming unnerved. That was decidedly different from the strange childishness of yesterday. His constantly changing attitude was starting to make her unsure if she would be able to make this work.

After a few minutes of him being gone she got herself dressed, and headed to change out the incense in the sanctuary.

All the while, he sat alone in one of the free rooms. He maintained his breathing at a steady pace as he tried to keep himself in control. The girl was messing him around. He didn't want her gone, though. He found her inescapable. He even made a ca-

Oh no! The carving! He didn't want her to see it! He got up and sprinted right past her, grabbing the thing and inspecting it right where she could see. After seeing it was fine, he heaved a sigh and turned just to see her. He froze, looking like he was stealing as he tried to hide her carving

Asuka yelped when he darted past her, turning and blinking at him as she held her white shawl around her shoulders. A slight sigh left her, and her lips curled faintly in a smile of surrender.

Understanding him wasn't going to happen quickly, that much was clear. Even so, she would still try. She had decided that, hadn't she? The Priestess crouched down next to him, tucking a strand of her white-blonde hair, wavy from being braided all night, behind one ear. A small crystal stud glinted in her earlobe.

He quickly sidestepped out of sight, jumping out the window and sprinting to the tree he took the branch from. He hid his obsession above, where nobody would find it unless they were looking for it. He gave himself a satisfied nod before he walked back towards the temple

He went ton help her with the incense again, blurring through the actions now that he was aware of how it was done properly. He didn't like her doing such menial work. Not her. Not the Priestess.

Asuka blinked in surprise, rather confused by his behavior as she stood and headed into the sanctuary. His reappearance and blurred motions startled her as well; he was making her a bit concerned with his erratic behavior. She gave a slightly hesitant smile of thanks as she drifted about, double checking all of the little bowls and making sure there was enough to last all day till they were replaced at evening prayer.

The sweet and slightly tangy scent always clinging to her made sense now; it was the smell of the incense.

He sighed whimsically as he discovered the little detail. He glanced at her adoringly when her back was turned.

He noticed a glint of something.

The man the glint came from looked terribly out of place. His eyes looked strange. Hard. It reminded him of himself. The man zeroed in on the priestess.

His look.

The creature put himself between the man and the Priestess he grabbed her and forced her behind him as he gave a low, predatory growl to the man.

He would've trusted the man if he went pale.

The man didn't.

He reached for something in his belt.

A knife.

Asuka gasped, eyes widening as she was pulled behind the male. She placed a hand on his shoulder, pushing back out to stand beside him so that she could see the man.

Her brow creased slightly. Her eyes and her face, they showed not fear, but sadness. That someone would wish her harm, in a place as sacred as this one. It was a gentle gaze, with no hate within it. She extended a hand to him.

He was shaking again. Furiously.

The man wanted to hurt her.

When the man saw her extended hand, he spat on the floor, glaring venom into her. He opened his mouth to show he didn't have a tong anymore and pulled out a medallion with strange symbols on it. Reversing his grip, he silently charged the two.

The creature wanted to skin the man alive. He wanted to drop his outside and watch him dry up like a prune. He couldn't. Not here. Not in the Priestess' special place.

He grabbed the man by the throat, lifting him up and walking with him to the outside. The man, eyes wide with panic, started stabbing the creature repeatedly.

The creature didn't care. He needed to get him out. Bury him alive. Leave his head and stuff a rat in his mouth

Asuka gasped, hurrying after him. Dear God, how do I stop him? Violence wasn't supposed to happen here, the courtyard had already been stained with blood once before. She grabbed his arm, shaking her head fiercely, eyes pleading. This was a place of prayer and healing, of peace and safety, not violence.

Her begging put him to a stop, even as his blood ran down his clothes. He glanced to the man and them back to her. He gave a sad sigh and shook his head. He couldn't allow this man to live. Allowing him to live would mean risking her life. He pointed to himself and pointed far off, trying to tell her that he wouldn't do it here. Without warning, he grabbed her by the back of the head and kissed her.

His face hardened thereafter, looking at the now weakening man with disappointment.

He won't be able to return to the temple. He had too much blood on his hands already. He didn't want to leave her as well. He blooded about the fact as he casually walked away from the temple and the village itself

Asuka gasped harshly, turning red and stepping back with a creased brow, a hand over her lips. She watched him walk away, legs trembling slightly. No one dared to touch her that way.

When she found him, she thought he was a childish being. But now, he frightened her. Silently she turned and fled back into the temple, closing the door behind her.

He wasn't surprised she did.

That night, tortured screams could be heard for an hour before it finally stopped as ubruptly as it started. He waited for her to fall asleep before sneaking into her room once more. Simply watching her with empty eyes. He thought he could walk away, but when he closed his eyes, he only saw her. She trapped him without realising it. She became his obsession

Asuka was curled loosely on her side, breathing peacefully. Her pale hair was draped in its braid over one shoulder. Her chest rose and fell, lashes silently fluttering against her golden cheeks. It didn't seem like she reacted to his presence at all.
