"No," the woman answered dryly. "You'll wash yourself thank you very much." She tossed a towel at him and turned away, leaving him to his own devices. She was somewhat less than impressed with the priestess' decision to bring him back with them.

He smiled slightly at her dry words, holding his hands up in surrender as she tossed the towel, which he caught effortlessly.

He bathed himself slowly, examining his body for any damage done when he underwent his rage. He examined how the bath stained red with the blood. When he finished, he walked out with the towel around his waist, not thinking much of it

Asuka was drifting about in a simple white cotton gown, a elegantly embroidered shawl draped around her shoulders. She smiled softly, humming in her mind as she did her daily task of relighting any of the hundreds of candles about the temple that had gone out. Her expression was soft, hair pulled into a loose braid down her back with several strands rebelliously drifting loose. As before, she was barefoot.

He ran into her, standing stock still when he saw her. He looked down to her bare feet and daresay holy attire, before looking down at his and sighing. He made a gesture like he's putting on a shirt, with a questioning shrug to make it a question

Asuka looked to him and smiled, nodding. After finishing with the candles in that room she carefully blew out her lamp and set it aside before leading him to one of the guest rooms. There were a handful of them for pilgrims and those visiting for divine revelation. There were clothes, simple but fine and of varying sizes, waiting in the drawers of the bureau.

He gave a curt nod as thanks, dropping his towel right then and there before rummaging around in search for something that fit him

Asuka blushed and turned away politely, rubbing a little at one warm cheek with her cool fingertips as she waited for him to get changed. She was somewhat fascinated by this man, creature- being. He seemed human in many ways but also somewhat apart. She had found no ill intentions towards any innocents in his actions earlier, yet they had been atrocious. He clearly did not understand human norms and acceptance.

Eventually he found something that was about his size, slipping on without much thought. What did worry him was the red forming across her cheeks. He narrowed his eyes fiercely, stalking to her and poking them inquisitively. He looked at her with worry as he poked them again

Asuka gave a soft gasp, startled from her reverie. She smiled curiously, tilting her head. Her cheeks were still warm from how close hpe was. Definitely naive..

No amount of poking seemed to ease up her red cheeks. He puffed out a bit of air and let her go. He looked in thought as he tried asking what he could do, then sighed and resolved just to follow her around, aiding in opportunities

The delicate priestess blinked a couple times in confusion, but then realized that her red cheeks had made him curious, and she gave a slight chuckle, one finger lightly brushing her lips as she lifted her hand to her mouth. She wandered back to her chores then, letting him follow if he wished. After lighting all of the candles, she moved to the grand room where she held audiences on holy days. It was perfectly round, the floor white stone tiles and the ceiling colored glass. She moved about silently, but smiling softly as she gathered the burnt-out sticks of incense about the sanctuary. Once she had them all she would empty the trays of remaining ash and set fresh incense to burn through the night.

He made a face of disgust.

She was a very important individual, yet they allow her to do menial tasks like this? After observing her actions, he grabbed her hand with a lot of force, flinching visibly as he realized how much strength he put into it. He relaxed to a gentle hold before taking the incense from her and doing exactly what she had done

Asuka gave a gasp when he first grabbed her hand, looking at him startled. She seemed confused when he took the incense from her hands and began to mimic her actions, but gave a small, hesitant smile to him. The priestess drifted behind him, gently inserting herself where need be- if he wanted to help she thought that was good. She showed him that blue incense went under the windows, and black in the corners of the room. White was set around the edges of the fountain in the center.

He nodded dutifully as she gestured to him what colours go where. He found the colours rather amusing, on his own way. Blue means good, and Windows are good points of entry. Corners are bad because you have no escape then. White was hope, and a fountain was a hopeful opportunity to make a difference in a fight.

After he finished, he puffed air out in satisfaction. He started to notice his fingertips hurt a bit, so he checked them. Apparently he had burned three fingers in his right hand and two on his left. He gave a small surprised noise before looking at her

Asuka smiled and gave a soft shake of her head, taking the hand and gently pulling him over to the fountain. She dipped the burnt fingers into the cool water, letting it run over them and take the sting away. This person had such a strangeness about him. Childlike yet dangerous, it was a mixture that perplexed her.

He tensed up when she took his hand, relaxing as he remembered that she wouldn't hurt him. He allowed her to put his hand in the pool, noticing that the burn pain vanished. It'll return when he pull it out, though. Although he still appreciated the gesture.

The town bell rang once more, making him jump out of his relaxed state. He knew that they rang the bell when danger happened. The thought that something could hurt this impossibly kind being sent rage and fear inside him, and before he knew it, he was storming out with murder in his eyes

Asuka looked up with surprise when the bell rang, her deep blue eyes widening. She was so close to speaking when he moved out, a slight sound starting to leave her before she pulled it back, covering her mouth in horror. The priestess ran after him with another quiet gasp, trying to catch him before he got outside. If it wasn't safe they were supposed to close up the temple, and she wasn't supposed to go outside when there was a warning unless she was summoned.

He hardly noticed her reaction. He was spiralling, feeding his own rage and amplifying it every second. He started to walk all the faster as he saw a dust cloud up. Flags shown, unbeknownst to him it was flags of an a lord from the neighbouring kingdom. The soldiers arrived just as he did.

A scribe pulled out a scroll, announcing to the gathering townsfolk as he came in earshot

"Hear ye! Hear ye! His noble majesty, Lord Ezrathil the fourteenth of the kingdom of Zymar. Our noble High Priest has declared the Church of Balance as heresy! All artifacts must be burnt and those who refuse to convert, executed. The priests and priestess especially will be locked in the temple and be burned to the ground! All w-"

There was more on the scroll, but the scribe per chance looked at the creatures reaction when he stated it. He knew that look. He saw it in a rabid dog before it tried to kill him. He made a hasty retreat as the creature stood stock still, twitching and panting in rage

Asuka pulled her shawl around her for modesty as she ran out of the temple to grab the male's arm so he would do nothing reckless, but her face grew pale as the herald spoke. She bit her lip and her grip tightened slightly on his arm as her hands began to tremble. The words were in her throat, but she couldn't say anything, even though she wished to scream at them. You can't do this! This is not your land, nor your people. Tears rose in her eyes she stepped forward, lifting her chin and taking a deep breath. She raised her hand, and gently, she waved the townspeople away. Like a mother shooing off curious children. It was better they not watch the temple burn. Better they be inside. Her smile was soft, sad, and loving.

She loved this world. She loved the people in it, and she loved her faith. She loved the Balance. If need be, she would die for it.

The people acted up regardless, threatening a riot as they push against the soldiers.

Then came a scream.

An animal scream if rage, fear and denial. A scream that sounded otherworldly and seemed to be coming from everywhere. The sound moved around as he did.

His eyes were wide, staring hatred into the soldiers that came to arrest her. A sickening sound came from his arms, like bones being crushed and flesh being mashed. His claws grew as big as the fingers that carried him.

A soldier went for him, his sword swinging as he only assumed that he was about to face a madman.

The creature's one hand blurred, and the man was missing his lower jaw, the thing flying somewhere on the grass. His hands blurred, ripping chunks and pieces out of the man as he stumbles back.

He didn't even have enough time make a thud when he hit the ground
