Murder Game XIV: Monokuma's Awakening

Shane was looking away from the body, staring at a corner of the room almost distantly. He looked sullen, as if this whole debacle was a huge inconvenience. It wasn't until Jack stepped toward him with an angry gait that Shane was brought back down to reality. "Oh, hell," Shane muttered, giving Jack an angry glare back of his own. "You out of your fuckin' mind? I ain't giving you this gun. You know why? I fuckin' need it. I found it, and it looks to me we all need some extra protection now."

Jude was still intently looking over Byakuya's wounds, leaning the boy forward to get a look at his back. Though he sounded distracted, Jude managed to ask, "you found it? Where?"

Shane let out an exasperated noise as he turned to Jude. "Found it in the roots of that big ol' fuckin' tree, all right? Kept it at my bedside in case something went wrong, and well, lookie here. Some sonuvabitch killed this kid and the girl's goddamn screaming scared the damn bejeezus out of me." Shane stepped forward toward the body, pointing to the wall above Byakuya. Evidently, there was a bullet embedded into the cabin wall. "I'd like to see all o' you not have an itchy trigger finger after hearing that one scream."

Looking up at the bullet mark for a moment, Jude sighed. "It may sound hard to believe, but I think he's telling the truth. There's not a single gunshot wound on Byakuya's body." Jude shook his head, leaning Byakuya back against the wall. "No... Byakuya was killed with a bladed weapon. There are multiple stab wounds in his back."

"Well there you fuckin' go!" exclaimed Shane, turning back to Jack and the others. "Now you ain't takin' this goddamn gun away from me, you here?"

And so it was time for everyone to retire for the night after a warm, hearty meal. Nono returned to her cabin with her friends.

"Good night, Kushinada-san. Good night, Honda-san. Good night, Bolin-san. Good night, Citizen Snow. Morikubo is going to sleep now... if you're going to tell ghost stories, go ahead without Morikubo. Morikubo... is tired from the day's activities."

Skipping out on spooky ghost story time, Nono had sweet dreams. In her sleep, she recited poems in her soft, raspy voice, something you would call sleeptalking. While she was a Wallflower by day, she was a poet that levelled Alfred Lord Tennyson by night.

For someone who feels so much fear on a daily basis, it was surprising how she didn't show evidence of having nightmares. Perhaps her nightmares were day horses with thrusty kicks?

Anyhow, it was time for our sweet princess to sleep.

May tomorrow be another day of hoolabaloo.

She ponders about how it'd be brighter with her other friends around. They knew how to make this regular camp into a heavy metal party...

... but little does she know, it was indeed going to be a bloody party, but not the heavy metal kind of bloody.

Twilight Update
"A Death in the Family"

Byakuya listened to the conversations going on around him carefully. Though there was little talk of the nature of the camp or who was ultimately behind all this, there was far less fighting going than there had been all day. It would seem that, finally, this forced coexistence was leading to some kind of cooperation. Byakuya now knew who the ones were to look out for were, those being Shane and Diana. Shane seemed the type who would never get along with the rest of the group, at least not before some major changes occurred. As for Diana, Byakuya had not the slightest clue why she seemed so hostile with him. It was a matter to worry about for another day.

"I'd like to say one final thing before we go to bed this evening!" declared the boy, standing up tall for all to see. His plate of food was unsurprisingly clean. "Tonight, our first night, is integral. Keep vigilant and keep on the watch for suspicious activity! However, do try to get a good night's rest... I will not tolerate tardiness for breakfast tomorrow morning! Attendance should be mandatory so that we may determine our plan of action for the day!"

"Riiiight..."

Diana was next to stand, smirking and staring straight at Byakuya. She looked at him as if he was totally beneath her.

"You still expect us to hop on your command? All you do is bark and frankly, it's quite annoying. You know, I don't think I even like dogs... and I certainly can't stand ones that won't shut up. How about you take your fat mouth and your fat self and walk right into those woods. Please, never come back." Byakuya was visibly furious by the time Diana was finished. He was tired of this girl's hate for him and her distaste for working well with others. He clutched a fist and glared daggers at her, but Diana coolly brushed the boy off and began leaving the cafeteria. Her laughter echoed in from outside as she left the Visitor Center.

"Tch..." Closing his eyes, it took Byakuya a few moments to gather himself. He eventually relaxed, dropping his arm and opening his eyes to look around at the group. "If that will be all the outbursts we have this evening, then I think we should retire for the night."

As the cafeteria filled with the sound of scraping chairs and footsteps, Usami spoke up once again. "Don't worry, everyone! I will be patrolling the cabin area to make sure nothing fishy is going on! Please relax and have a good rest! Remember to review the notice board to make sure you know where you're sleeping!"

The students left the Visitor Center and walked into the night. The notice board still stood, the name plaques hanging from their wooden pegs...

Having fallen asleep atop Chikage's head, it was only natural that upon being told to go to their cabins for the night, that Chikage would have returned Catbug to the cabin that he had been assigned to along with Lapis and two others. Laying outside the cabin for some time, Catbug finally awoke as the earliest glimpses of sunlight began to emit down onto the creature. Sitting up, Catbug groaned as he didn't get what he wanted to do last night, which was to have waved goodbye to Chikage as she walked off to likely join her own cabin mates. What a nice friend she was!

But Catbug was still pretty sleepy. Glancing up at the cabin door, Catbug shakily walked up the stairs before jumping up to grab at the door handle and pull it open. This was going to be quite the new and exciting experience! He'd get to have a whole bed all to himself! But before Catbug could celebrate as he jumped down and entered the cabin, he noticed a figure seemingly shifting under one of the beds.

"Hm... Meow! I see someone hiding under a bed!"

Getting on all fours, Catbug pounced forward and whatever may have been hiding under his bed was quickly alarmed by this talking creature rushing straight towards him. The stranger bolted out from under the bed, but not before giving Catbug a good clean kick to the head. "S-Stay back! D-Do you hear me I said stay back!"

Wincing and rubbing at where he had been kicked straight in the forehead, Catbug climbed atop the bed to get a good look at his assailant. It was surprising to say the least.

"You're just a little babu!"

"Ba... What?! I'm no baby, I'm twelve years old, jerk! Why don't you get your brain checked out?!" The young boy snapped back, clearly looking he was quite agitated and confused with everything that had been going on. But he also realized that implying a creature that looked like Catbug might not have been the smartest move, he held up his hands. "I... I'm sorry. It's just I don't know how I got here! I'm Mike..."

"Catbug! It's nice to meet you, Mike! You're at a camp!" Catbug explained cheerfully though it still wasn't very helpful to Mike. "... I figured it was a camp! The cabins, the woods, pretty much everything about this place! I don't know what I'm doing here!"

Oh. Well, then it seemed like he was in the same boat as everyone else!

"Same! But how come you didn't try finding us, Mike?" Catbug asked, to which Mike responded derisively with a roll of his eyes. "Yeah, because when I show up in a camp and have no idea how I got there, the first thing I'm gonna do is ask some Cat... Ladybug... thing for help! Can't you just call my parents or something?!"

"No phone! Well, at least I don't have one otherwise I'd totally let you use it!" Being a Catbug meant you were quite limited on where you could store things. But he could tell Mike was clearly frightened... Catbug would have done something, if not for the sudden and scream coming from another cabin. Catbug quickly turned and raced for the door. "Come on, Mike! We need to go see what that was!" Catbug yelled, seemingly expecting Mike to just fall in line.

Were the situation different, maybe Mike would have hesitated. But he wasn't going to give up on getting out of here just because of some weird talking hybrid animal thing. Reluctantly arming himself with a pillow, Mike ran out after Catbug. The pair were completely unaware of what awaited the two of them at the scene of the scream...

As morning crept upon the camp, Usami's voice erupted throughout: "Wakey wakey, eggs and bakey! Usami is happy to declare that a new day has begun! Let's face the morning sun and bring hope into our hearts!"

However, that wasn't the only thing to echo throughout the camp. There was a scream. Diana's scream, to be precise, followed by what sounded like a gunshot. Any who would rush to Cabin H would find a horrifying sight.

In the cabin was Diana, Shane, Nigel, and Mike Dawson, the group staring at the sight of Byakuya Togami's corpse. The fat boy was sitting on the floor of the cabin in a pool of blood, his back against the wall. His chin rested against his chest, his blond hair disheveled and in disarray.

"How... How?! Why is he dead?! What the fuck!"

"...!"

Having been one of the first, if not the first besides those who had already been residing within Cabin H to begin with, to arrive on the scene, Kyoko let out an audible gasp, displaying a rare sign of visible shock on her features when the body of their once so confident and self-assured leader would be found brutally murdered so suddenly.

Of course, it wasn't sudden at all, was it?

No, for people like her and him, these kinds of things were always bound to happen in situations like these.

Walking into the cabin in a bit of a daze was Jude Mathis, who stared at the body of Byakuya like it was some strange alien object. As if in slow motion, the buy turned to take in the room, his eyes eventually landing on one of the spectators. "You... You, make sure you bring everyone else here. Everyone has to know about this!"

Said spectator was Old Man McGucket, who said, "It's happening! The end times! I'll tell everybody!"

As the old man left, Jude started moving much more quickly, dropping down next to Byakuya to examine the body. "How could this have happened? At what time...?" As Jude pondered these questions, Nigel was next to speak up.

"Hey, no one touch the body until we figure out what the hell is going on." Nigel said this mostly to the expanding group of spectators, but he intended it for Jude as well.

"Oh...? I think it's quite clear what happened. The lion has been devoured by the hyenas," Shuten-Douji replied nonchalantly. Nigel would glare at Shuten-Douji, but didn't say anything before his attention went back to the dead boy and Jude.

"I'm a doctor!" assured the boy, glancing back toward Nigel. "I mean, I'm not a coroner... but I can do something. I have to give him a look over."

"I guess all that talk about happy days and sunshine was a bunch of bollocks, yeah?"

"Oh, no!!"

Standing at the entrance of the cabin now was Usami, who looked absolutely devastated. "No, how could this happen! Usami was on patrol! Usami tried to get everyone to get along! There wasn't supposed to be anything like this!" The rabbit moaned, lowering her head and covering her eyes with her hands. "Who would do such a thing...?"

A flurry of emotions hit Kyoko's head all at once. Fear and adrenaline from the realization that, as can be deciphered from a murder, there was a murderer running around, and more notably, frustration and anger for not getting the chance to discuss more with him concerning their situation, relations in their home worlds, what's been going on there, and so on.

Things that Byakuya Togami really would have discussed.

"..."

Silently approaching the corpse, she knelt before him in what looked like a rare display of morose emotion for a brief moment.

"... Even to the end, for every lie you told us, even the one about who you were, the simple truth rang out very clearly that you wanted to keep everyone safe under your wing, didn't it?"

With that, she would stand up, turning to face the others when they would appear one by one at the cabin, a look of heated determination on her face.

"... Listen up, everybody. There's been a tragic murder this morning, and we need to figure out who the culprit is before they can make another move. That much goes without saying," she spoke, crossing her arms as she maintained a cool, calm breath.

"In his stead, I will take his place as the leader. And we don't have time for objections."

"The first order of business is... Let's not waste any time and try to recreate the crime scene. Am I understood?"

It was all like instinct to her. Like clockwork.

Again, this wasn't her first rodeo.

By the time Kyoko was done talking, Diana had fled the cabin. Shane and Mike still remained, Shane looking only annoyed as he held a smoking gun...

It was yet another fine morning in Bright Falls! The sun was bright, the sun was shining and the sun was shimmering.

A rancid screech that emerged from Cabin H obliterated the chirping of birds and the howling of roosters into smithereens.

Nono rose from her slumber, equipped with sleeping gown and pyjama hat as she hears the noise.

Nono decided to start hollering loudly at her four cabinmates, in case one or two of them were heavy sleepers.

"EVERYONE! WAKE UP! THIS IS BAD! THIS IS BAD!"

But... what was bad?

"Kirigiri-san... what happened here?"

And thus, Kyoko was ready to explain the gravity of the situation.​

With that, she would stand up, turning to face the others when they would appear one by one at the cabin, a look of heated determination on her face.

Nono arms instinctively wrap around Kyoko's body in sheer fright at the corpse.

"S- sorry!" Nono rasped again, still sobbing from the supposed trauma of witnessing death itself. "Anyways, while Morikubo doesn't remember Togami-san's cabin, Morikubo remembers that it isn't Cabin H... Usamin-sensei says that she was patrolling, so maybe she saw something?"

"This really is a summer camp special." Poison replied having now moved over to her hamburger and taking a good bite from it. "Guys with scars are pretty hot by the way." She replied between bites. "And this burger's pretty damn good. Reminds me of this little greasy dive back in Metro City."



"Girl the past can go suck a big one. The future is the only thing that matters." Despite the way Poison said it, that was probably one of the most genuine things she had said during their stay here.

"... Listen up, everybody. There's been a tragic murder this morning, and we need to figure out who the culprit is before they can make another move. That much goes without saying," she spoke, crossing her arms as she maintained a cool, calm breath.

"In his stead, I will take his place as the leader. And we don't have time for objections."

"The first order of business is... Let's not waste any time and try to recreate the crime scene. Am I understood?"

It was all like instinct to her. Like clockwork.

Again, this wasn't her first rodeo.

By the time Kyoko was done talking, Diana had fled the cabin. Shane and Mike still remained, Shane looking only annoyed as he held a smoking gun...

[Chewy Rabbits]

Shane was looking away from the body, staring at a corner of the room almost distantly. He looked sullen, as if this whole debacle was a huge inconvenience. It wasn't until Jack stepped toward him with an angry gait that Shane was brought back down to reality. "Oh, hell," Shane muttered, giving Jack an angry glare back of his own. "You out of your fuckin' mind? I ain't giving you this gun. You know why? I fuckin' need it. I found it, and it looks to me we all need some extra protection now."

Jude was still intently looking over Byakuya's wounds, leaning the boy forward to get a look at his back. Though he sounded distracted, Jude managed to ask, "you found it? Where?"

Shane let out an exasperated noise as he turned to Jude. "Found it in the roots of that big ol' fuckin' tree, all right? Kept it at my bedside in case something went wrong, and well, lookie here. Some sonuvabitch killed this kid and the girl's goddamn screaming scared the damn bejeezus out of me." Shane stepped forward toward the body, pointing to the wall above Byakuya. Evidently, there was a bullet embedded into the cabin wall. "I'd like to see all o' you not have an itchy trigger finger after hearing that one scream."

"W-What the hell?! W-Why are their guns at a camp?!"

Mike hadn't arrived in time to hear Shane's explanation and quite frankly even if he had, it wouldn't have calmed him down. Going from bumping faces with some freaky talking animal to an angry guy with a gun, things seemed like they were getting worse instead of better. Clutching the pillow closer to his chest like some kind of security blanket,Mike turned and saw the corpse in the cabin and his face turned as pale as a sheet.

"Oh no..Oh nononono!"

Rushing back outside of the cabin, Mike stood off to the side as he began to wretch. Creatures, guns, and death? It's like he left home only to find somewhere even worse! Shuddering both in nervousness and fear at what was to come next, Catbug glanced out concernedly at Mike before waddling towards the body. Catbug may have decapitated the Jelly Kid but even so the concepts of death and not coming back alluded the creature's child-like mind.

"Mike! It's okay! He's just sleeping! Yup, just having a nice nap."

There was some shred of hesitance in Catbug's voice given the blood around the body. But was he saying this to assure Mike that things were okay? Or was he trying to convince himself?

Twilight Update
"A Death in the Family"

Byakuya listened to the conversations going on around him carefully. Though there was little talk of the nature of the camp or who was ultimately behind all this, there was far less fighting going than there had been all day. It would seem that, finally, this forced coexistence was leading to some kind of cooperation. Byakuya now knew who the ones were to look out for were, those being Shane and Diana. Shane seemed the type who would never get along with the rest of the group, at least not before some major changes occurred. As for Diana, Byakuya had not the slightest clue why she seemed so hostile with him. It was a matter to worry about for another day.

"I'd like to say one final thing before we go to bed this evening!" declared the boy, standing up tall for all to see. His plate of food was unsurprisingly clean. "Tonight, our first night, is integral. Keep vigilant and keep on the watch for suspicious activity! However, do try to get a good night's rest... I will not tolerate tardiness for breakfast tomorrow morning! Attendance should be mandatory so that we may determine our plan of action for the day!"

"Riiiight..."

Diana was next to stand, smirking and staring straight at Byakuya. She looked at him as if he was totally beneath her.

"You still expect us to hop on your command? All you do is bark and frankly, it's quite annoying. You know, I don't think I even like dogs... and I certainly can't stand ones that won't shut up. How about you take your fat mouth and your fat self and walk right into those woods. Please, never come back." Byakuya was visibly furious by the time Diana was finished. He was tired of this girl's hate for him and her distaste for working well with others. He clutched a fist and glared daggers at her, but Diana coolly brushed the boy off and began leaving the cafeteria. Her laughter echoed in from outside as she left the Visitor Center.

"Tch..." Closing his eyes, it took Byakuya a few moments to gather himself. He eventually relaxed, dropping his arm and opening his eyes to look around at the group. "If that will be all the outbursts we have this evening, then I think we should retire for the night."

As the cafeteria filled with the sound of scraping chairs and footsteps, Usami spoke up once again. "Don't worry, everyone! I will be patrolling the cabin area to make sure nothing fishy is going on! Please relax and have a good rest! Remember to review the notice board to make sure you know where you're sleeping!"

The students left the Visitor Center and walked into the night. The notice board still stood, the name plaques hanging from their wooden pegs...

Having fallen asleep atop Chikage's head, it was only natural that upon being told to go to their cabins for the night, that Chikage would have returned Catbug to the cabin that he had been assigned to along with Lapis and two others. Laying outside the cabin for some time, Catbug finally awoke as the earliest glimpses of sunlight began to emit down onto the creature. Sitting up, Catbug groaned as he didn't get what he wanted to do last night, which was to have waved goodbye to Chikage as she walked off to likely join her own cabin mates. What a nice friend she was!

But Catbug was still pretty sleepy. Glancing up at the cabin door, Catbug shakily walked up the stairs before jumping up to grab at the door handle and pull it open. This was going to be quite the new and exciting experience! He'd get to have a whole bed all to himself! But before Catbug could celebrate as he jumped down and entered the cabin, he noticed a figure seemingly shifting under one of the beds.

"Hm... Meow! I see someone hiding under a bed!"

Getting on all fours, Catbug pounced forward and whatever may have been hiding under his bed was quickly alarmed by this talking creature rushing straight towards him. The stranger bolted out from under the bed, but not before giving Catbug a good clean kick to the head. "S-Stay back! D-Do you hear me I said stay back!"

Wincing and rubbing at where he had been kicked straight in the forehead, Catbug climbed atop the bed to get a good look at his assailant. It was surprising to say the least.

"You're just a little babu!"

"Ba... What?! I'm no baby, I'm twelve years old, jerk! Why don't you get your brain checked out?!" The young boy snapped back, clearly looking he was quite agitated and confused with everything that had been going on. But he also realized that implying a creature that looked like Catbug might not have been the smartest move, he held up his hands. "I... I'm sorry. It's just I don't know how I got here! I'm Mike..."

"Catbug! It's nice to meet you, Mike! You're at a camp!" Catbug explained cheerfully though it still wasn't very helpful to Mike. "... I figured it was a camp! The cabins, the woods, pretty much everything about this place! I don't know what I'm doing here!"

Oh. Well, then it seemed like he was in the same boat as everyone else!

"Same! But how come you didn't try finding us, Mike?" Catbug asked, to which Mike responded derisively with a roll of his eyes. "Yeah, because when I show up in a camp and have no idea how I got there, the first thing I'm gonna do is ask some Cat... Ladybug... thing for help! Can't you just call my parents or something?!"

"No phone! Well, at least I don't have one otherwise I'd totally let you use it!" Being a Catbug meant you were quite limited on where you could store things. But he could tell Mike was clearly frightened... Catbug would have done something, if not for the sudden and scream coming from another cabin. Catbug quickly turned and raced for the door. "Come on, Mike! We need to go see what that was!" Catbug yelled, seemingly expecting Mike to just fall in line.

Were the situation different, maybe Mike would have hesitated. But he wasn't going to give up on getting out of here just because of some weird talking hybrid animal thing. Reluctantly arming himself with a pillow, Mike ran out after Catbug. The pair were completely unaware of what awaited the two of them at the scene of the scream...

As morning crept upon the camp, Usami's voice erupted throughout: "Wakey wakey, eggs and bakey! Usami is happy to declare that a new day has begun! Let's face the morning sun and bring hope into our hearts!"

However, that wasn't the only thing to echo throughout the camp. There was a scream. Diana's scream, to be precise, followed by what sounded like a gunshot. Any who would rush to Cabin H would find a horrifying sight.

In the cabin was Diana, Shane, Nigel, and Mike Dawson, the group staring at the sight of Byakuya Togami's corpse. The fat boy was sitting on the floor of the cabin in a pool of blood, his back against the wall. His chin rested against his chest, his blond hair disheveled and in disarray.

"How... How?! Why is he dead?! What the fuck!"

"...!"

Having been one of the first, if not the first besides those who had already been residing within Cabin H to begin with, to arrive on the scene, Kyoko let out an audible gasp, displaying a rare sign of visible shock on her features when the body of their once so confident and self-assured leader would be found brutally murdered so suddenly.

Of course, it wasn't sudden at all, was it?

No, for people like her and him, these kinds of things were always bound to happen in situations like these.

Walking into the cabin in a bit of a daze was Jude Mathis, who stared at the body of Byakuya like it was some strange alien object. As if in slow motion, the buy turned to take in the room, his eyes eventually landing on one of the spectators. "You... You, make sure you bring everyone else here. Everyone has to know about this!"

Said spectator was Old Man McGucket, who said, "It's happening! The end times! I'll tell everybody!"

As the old man left, Jude started moving much more quickly, dropping down next to Byakuya to examine the body. "How could this have happened? At what time...?" As Jude pondered these questions, Nigel was next to speak up.

"Hey, no one touch the body until we figure out what the hell is going on." Nigel said this mostly to the expanding group of spectators, but he intended it for Jude as well.

"Oh...? I think it's quite clear what happened. The lion has been devoured by the hyenas," Shuten-Douji replied nonchalantly. Nigel would glare at Shuten-Douji, but didn't say anything before his attention went back to the dead boy and Jude.

"I'm a doctor!" assured the boy, glancing back toward Nigel. "I mean, I'm not a coroner... but I can do something. I have to give him a look over."

"I guess all that talk about happy days and sunshine was a bunch of bollocks, yeah?"

"Oh, no!!"

Standing at the entrance of the cabin now was Usami, who looked absolutely devastated. "No, how could this happen! Usami was on patrol! Usami tried to get everyone to get along! There wasn't supposed to be anything like this!" The rabbit moaned, lowering her head and covering her eyes with her hands. "Who would do such a thing...?"

A flurry of emotions hit Kyoko's head all at once. Fear and adrenaline from the realization that, as can be deciphered from a murder, there was a murderer running around, and more notably, frustration and anger for not getting the chance to discuss more with him concerning their situation, relations in their home worlds, what's been going on there, and so on.

Things that Byakuya Togami really would have discussed.

"..."

Silently approaching the corpse, she knelt before him in what looked like a rare display of morose emotion for a brief moment.

Poison had woken up late realized that the cabin and the camp in general was way too quiet would head out of the cabin to see what was going on. Seeing the crowd gathering around Cabin H she'd make her way there.

"Hey guys what are all of you doing he- Is that a body?"

Neon Katt looked visibly distressed as the others looked the body over. "I-I thought this was supposed to be a fun time?"

Jack had known this would happen. He had had the chance to potentially prevent this by intervening further into Shane's matters, but no, he had simply thought the man was only full of false confidence and arrogance. Yet it was the samurai's own complacency and arrogance that held him from confronting Shane sooner. For that, a young man had paid the price, and for a moment, he felt the weight of the gunman's sins upon his heart before shaking it away.

"So, it seems my worst fears have been confirmed..." Without a moment's hesitation, he stepped forward with a glare leveled towards Shane, "I should have intervened sooner, to ensure this tragedy had not occurred... However, I will not hesitate now. I suggest you willingly surrender your firearm, before I take it from you by force."

Jude shook his head, leaning Byakuya back against the wall. "No... Byakuya was killed with a bladed weapon. There are multiple stab wounds in his back."

"Well there you fuckin' go!" exclaimed Shane, turning back to Jack and the others. "Now you ain't takin' this goddamn gun away from me, you here?"

And so it was time for everyone to retire for the night after a warm, hearty meal. Nono returned to her cabin with her friends.

"Good night, Kushinada-san. Good night, Honda-san. Good night, Bolin-san. Good night, Citizen Snow. Morikubo is going to sleep now... if you're going to tell ghost stories, go ahead without Morikubo. Morikubo... is tired from the day's activities."

Skipping out on spooky ghost story time, Nono had sweet dreams. In her sleep, she recited poems in her soft, raspy voice, something you would call sleeptalking. While she was a Wallflower by day, she was a poet that levelled Alfred Lord Tennyson by night.

For someone who feels so much fear on a daily basis, it was surprising how she didn't show evidence of having nightmares. Perhaps her nightmares were day horses with thrusty kicks?

Anyhow, it was time for our sweet princess to sleep.

May tomorrow be another day of hoolabaloo.

She ponders about how it'd be brighter with her other friends around. They knew how to make this regular camp into a heavy metal party...

... but little does she know, it was indeed going to be a bloody party, but not the heavy metal kind of bloody.

It was yet another fine morning in Bright Falls! The sun was bright, the sun was shining and the sun was shimmering.

A rancid screech that emerged from Cabin H obliterated the chirping of birds and the howling of roosters into smithereens.

Nono rose from her slumber, equipped with sleeping gown and pyjama hat as she hears the noise.

Nono decided to start hollering loudly at her four cabinmates, in case one or two of them were heavy sleepers.

"EVERYONE! WAKE UP! THIS IS BAD! THIS IS BAD!"

But... what was bad?

"Kirigiri-san... what happened here?"

And thus, Kyoko was ready to explain the gravity of the situation.​

M- M- M- Murder? This can't be right.

A murder in camp was absolutely catastrophic.

"EEEEEEK!" Nono hisses at the top of her lungs. "NONONONONONONONONONONONONO! Morikubo can't take this..."

Nono arms instinctively wrap around Kyoko's body in sheer fright at the corpse.

"S- sorry!" Nono rasped again, still sobbing from the supposed trauma of witnessing death itself. "Anyways, while Morikubo doesn't remember Togami-san's cabin, Morikubo remembers that it isn't Cabin H... Usamin-sensei says that she was patrolling, so maybe she saw something?"

"Ggrzzk....mm...five more...minutes..."

What was that noise, exactly? Sounded like screaming? And, from inside the cabin? Reluctant to wake up, Honda still forced himself to wake, finding the otherwise docile Morikubo looking absolutely terrified. That...woke him up a little. If someone like the Ultimate Wallflower was screaming so loudly, something was very, very wrong.

And, as he followed his cabinmate to Cabin H, he soon found out why. "Oh my God!!" The corpse of their former leader was now on the ground, and someome had a gun too?! He could deal with the body in a second, but this armed fellow needed to be subdued.

"You!!" He pointed at Shane. "There's been a murder,and there's very clearly a murderer on the loose! Do you really think keeping more weapons for them to steal and use is a good idea?!? And why did you even feel the need to shoot your gun?! Why did you shoot?!"​

 

[Klutzy Ninja Kitty]

Zinnia had been distracted for a while, playing with her fruit like a child. She had bit off a chunk of her apple and mixed it with her peaches and had bit off other chunks of her apple, stacking them on top of one another. She ate a little bit of it, but she was still distracted by playing with it for the most part, and also by listening to Genji and Wanda.

She teasingly hummed a love song while she listened to them, actually saying nothing so they could have a chance to talk. It must've been nice to be attracted to someone and be able to openly admit it. Zinnia was so used to being alone that she didn't really know how to express such things.

After dinner was over and the group began to head out, instead of heading to sleep inside her cabin, Zinnia climbed on the roof of her cabin and watched the stars for a while before going to sleep. She was lonely and missed Aster, so it took her a while. But the roof was a better alternative. She wasn't about to sleep in the same space as Tarelotte! Humph! :P

The next morning Usami's voice wasn't enough to stir Zinnia awake, but instead the gunshot was. She quickly sat up and straight up jumped off the roof and rushed over to Cabin H as fast as she could, skidding to a stop when she arrived.

"Oh jeez, Byakuya--" she began to say, pressing a hand over her mouth. "Are you sure he was killed by a bladed weapon, Jude?" she asked, disgusted by the situation but relieved at the same time all of her friends were still safe. She shot a glare in Shane's direction. "The gunshot was uncalled for."

[Khan of the Mardu]

Shane was looking away from the body, staring at a corner of the room almost distantly. He looked sullen, as if this whole debacle was a huge inconvenience. It wasn't until Jack stepped toward him with an angry gait that Shane was brought back down to reality. "Oh, hell," Shane muttered, giving Jack an angry glare back of his own. "You out of your fuckin' mind? I ain't giving you this gun. You know why? I fuckin' need it. I found it, and it looks to me we all need some extra protection now."

Jude was still intently looking over Byakuya's wounds, leaning the boy forward to get a look at his back. Though he sounded distracted, Jude managed to ask, "you found it? Where?"

Shane let out an exasperated noise as he turned to Jude. "Found it in the roots of that big ol' fuckin' tree, all right? Kept it at my bedside in case something went wrong, and well, lookie here. Some sonuvabitch killed this kid and the girl's goddamn screaming scared the damn bejeezus out of me." Shane stepped forward toward the body, pointing to the wall above Byakuya. Evidently, there was a bullet embedded into the cabin wall. "I'd like to see all o' you not have an itchy trigger finger after hearing that one scream."

Looking up at the bullet mark for a moment, Jude sighed. "It may sound hard to believe, but I think he's telling the truth. There's not a single gunshot wound on Byakuya's body." Jude shook his head, leaning Byakuya back against the wall. "No... Byakuya was killed with a bladed weapon. There are multiple stab wounds in his back."

"Well there you fuckin' go!" exclaimed Shane, turning back to Jack and the others. "Now you ain't takin' this goddamn gun away from me, you here?"

"Ggrzzk....mm...five more...minutes..."

What was that noise, exactly? Sounded like screaming? And, from inside the cabin? Reluctant to wake up, Honda still forced himself to wake, finding the otherwise docile Morikubo looking absolutely terrified. That...woke him up a little. If someone like the Ultimate Wallflower was screaming so loudly, something was very, very wrong.

And, as he followed his cabinmate to Cabin H, he soon found out why. "Oh my God!!" The corpse of their former leader was now on the ground, and someome had a gun too?! He could deal with the body in a second, but this armed fellow needed to be subdued.

"You!!" He pointed at Shane. "There's been a murder,and there's very clearly a murderer on the loose! Do you really think keeping more weapons for them to steal and use is a good idea?!? And why did you even feel the need to shoot your gun?! Why did you shoot?!"​

Zinnia had been distracted for a while, playing with her fruit like a child. She had bit off a chunk of her apple and mixed it with her peaches and had bit off other chunks of her apple, stacking them on top of one another. She ate a little bit of it, but she was still distracted by playing with it for the most part, and also by listening to Genji and Wanda.

She teasingly hummed a love song while she listened to them, actually saying nothing so they could have a chance to talk. It must've been nice to be attracted to someone and be able to openly admit it. Zinnia was so used to being alone that she didn't really know how to express such things.

After dinner was over and the group began to head out, instead of heading to sleep inside her cabin, Zinnia climbed on the roof of her cabin and watched the stars for a while before going to sleep. She was lonely and missed Aster, so it took her a while. But the roof was a better alternative. She wasn't about to sleep in the same space as Tarelotte! Humph! :P

The next morning Usami's voice wasn't enough to stir Zinnia awake, but instead the gunshot was. She quickly sat up and straight up jumped off the roof and rushed over to Cabin H as fast as she could, skidding to a stop when she arrived.

"Oh jeez, Byakuya--" she began to say, pressing a hand over her mouth. "Are you sure he was killed by a bladed weapon, Jude?" she asked, disgusted by the situation but relieved at the same time all of her friends were still safe. She shot a glare in Shane's direction. "The gunshot was uncalled for."

Looking over the body and the wall with his eyes from afar, Jack could see that Jude was correct. Given they had heard only one gunshot and it seemed that not were Togami's wounds stab wounds, it seemed that Shane was telling the truth that he had shot not at Togami but for some other reason. The others seemed to believe it was unneeded, however, he wondered for a moment why the man would shoot without cause... And not at Togami himself.

"Apologizes, Shane, it seems I was too hasty. Will you please explain why you fired your gun... and if it was at the culprit for this murder?"

He bowed his head when he apologized while maintaining his eyes upon the gunman.

Darv grunts, removing his helm and setting it down on the floor, he kneels, examining the wounds "I'd wager this is the work of an amateur. For someone who knows how to kill, one strike is enough"

Turning toward Jack, Darv quirks a brow. Another from Kar'hi? Fascinating "I believe he stated he fired on reflex, startled by the scream of the young girl" after a moment of pause, a sly grin crept across the sellsword's lips "Although that may be a cover up and he was responsible for both the gunshot and the scream. Who am I to say?"

Twilight Update
"A Death in the Family"

Byakuya listened to the conversations going on around him carefully. Though there was little talk of the nature of the camp or who was ultimately behind all this, there was far less fighting going than there had been all day. It would seem that, finally, this forced coexistence was leading to some kind of cooperation. Byakuya now knew who the ones were to look out for were, those being Shane and Diana. Shane seemed the type who would never get along with the rest of the group, at least not before some major changes occurred. As for Diana, Byakuya had not the slightest clue why she seemed so hostile with him. It was a matter to worry about for another day.

"I'd like to say one final thing before we go to bed this evening!" declared the boy, standing up tall for all to see. His plate of food was unsurprisingly clean. "Tonight, our first night, is integral. Keep vigilant and keep on the watch for suspicious activity! However, do try to get a good night's rest... I will not tolerate tardiness for breakfast tomorrow morning! Attendance should be mandatory so that we may determine our plan of action for the day!"

"Riiiight..."

Diana was next to stand, smirking and staring straight at Byakuya. She looked at him as if he was totally beneath her.

"You still expect us to hop on your command? All you do is bark and frankly, it's quite annoying. You know, I don't think I even like dogs... and I certainly can't stand ones that won't shut up. How about you take your fat mouth and your fat self and walk right into those woods. Please, never come back." Byakuya was visibly furious by the time Diana was finished. He was tired of this girl's hate for him and her distaste for working well with others. He clutched a fist and glared daggers at her, but Diana coolly brushed the boy off and began leaving the cafeteria. Her laughter echoed in from outside as she left the Visitor Center.

"Tch..." Closing his eyes, it took Byakuya a few moments to gather himself. He eventually relaxed, dropping his arm and opening his eyes to look around at the group. "If that will be all the outbursts we have this evening, then I think we should retire for the night."

As the cafeteria filled with the sound of scraping chairs and footsteps, Usami spoke up once again. "Don't worry, everyone! I will be patrolling the cabin area to make sure nothing fishy is going on! Please relax and have a good rest! Remember to review the notice board to make sure you know where you're sleeping!"

The students left the Visitor Center and walked into the night. The notice board still stood, the name plaques hanging from their wooden pegs...

Having fallen asleep atop Chikage's head, it was only natural that upon being told to go to their cabins for the night, that Chikage would have returned Catbug to the cabin that he had been assigned to along with Lapis and two others. Laying outside the cabin for some time, Catbug finally awoke as the earliest glimpses of sunlight began to emit down onto the creature. Sitting up, Catbug groaned as he didn't get what he wanted to do last night, which was to have waved goodbye to Chikage as she walked off to likely join her own cabin mates. What a nice friend she was!

But Catbug was still pretty sleepy. Glancing up at the cabin door, Catbug shakily walked up the stairs before jumping up to grab at the door handle and pull it open. This was going to be quite the new and exciting experience! He'd get to have a whole bed all to himself! But before Catbug could celebrate as he jumped down and entered the cabin, he noticed a figure seemingly shifting under one of the beds.

"Hm... Meow! I see someone hiding under a bed!"

Getting on all fours, Catbug pounced forward and whatever may have been hiding under his bed was quickly alarmed by this talking creature rushing straight towards him. The stranger bolted out from under the bed, but not before giving Catbug a good clean kick to the head. "S-Stay back! D-Do you hear me I said stay back!"

Wincing and rubbing at where he had been kicked straight in the forehead, Catbug climbed atop the bed to get a good look at his assailant. It was surprising to say the least.

"You're just a little babu!"

"Ba... What?! I'm no baby, I'm twelve years old, jerk! Why don't you get your brain checked out?!" The young boy snapped back, clearly looking he was quite agitated and confused with everything that had been going on. But he also realized that implying a creature that looked like Catbug might not have been the smartest move, he held up his hands. "I... I'm sorry. It's just I don't know how I got here! I'm Mike..."

"Catbug! It's nice to meet you, Mike! You're at a camp!" Catbug explained cheerfully though it still wasn't very helpful to Mike. "... I figured it was a camp! The cabins, the woods, pretty much everything about this place! I don't know what I'm doing here!"

Oh. Well, then it seemed like he was in the same boat as everyone else!

"Same! But how come you didn't try finding us, Mike?" Catbug asked, to which Mike responded derisively with a roll of his eyes. "Yeah, because when I show up in a camp and have no idea how I got there, the first thing I'm gonna do is ask some Cat... Ladybug... thing for help! Can't you just call my parents or something?!"

"No phone! Well, at least I don't have one otherwise I'd totally let you use it!" Being a Catbug meant you were quite limited on where you could store things. But he could tell Mike was clearly frightened... Catbug would have done something, if not for the sudden and scream coming from another cabin. Catbug quickly turned and raced for the door. "Come on, Mike! We need to go see what that was!" Catbug yelled, seemingly expecting Mike to just fall in line.

Were the situation different, maybe Mike would have hesitated. But he wasn't going to give up on getting out of here just because of some weird talking hybrid animal thing. Reluctantly arming himself with a pillow, Mike ran out after Catbug. The pair were completely unaware of what awaited the two of them at the scene of the scream...

As morning crept upon the camp, Usami's voice erupted throughout: "Wakey wakey, eggs and bakey! Usami is happy to declare that a new day has begun! Let's face the morning sun and bring hope into our hearts!"

However, that wasn't the only thing to echo throughout the camp. There was a scream. Diana's scream, to be precise, followed by what sounded like a gunshot. Any who would rush to Cabin H would find a horrifying sight.

In the cabin was Diana, Shane, Nigel, and Mike Dawson, the group staring at the sight of Byakuya Togami's corpse. The fat boy was sitting on the floor of the cabin in a pool of blood, his back against the wall. His chin rested against his chest, his blond hair disheveled and in disarray.

"How... How?! Why is he dead?! What the fuck!"

"...!"

Having been one of the first, if not the first besides those who had already been residing within Cabin H to begin with, to arrive on the scene, Kyoko let out an audible gasp, displaying a rare sign of visible shock on her features when the body of their once so confident and self-assured leader would be found brutally murdered so suddenly.

Of course, it wasn't sudden at all, was it?

No, for people like her and him, these kinds of things were always bound to happen in situations like these.

Walking into the cabin in a bit of a daze was Jude Mathis, who stared at the body of Byakuya like it was some strange alien object. As if in slow motion, the buy turned to take in the room, his eyes eventually landing on one of the spectators. "You... You, make sure you bring everyone else here. Everyone has to know about this!"

Said spectator was Old Man McGucket, who said, "It's happening! The end times! I'll tell everybody!"

As the old man left, Jude started moving much more quickly, dropping down next to Byakuya to examine the body. "How could this have happened? At what time...?" As Jude pondered these questions, Nigel was next to speak up.

"Hey, no one touch the body until we figure out what the hell is going on." Nigel said this mostly to the expanding group of spectators, but he intended it for Jude as well.

"Oh...? I think it's quite clear what happened. The lion has been devoured by the hyenas," Shuten-Douji replied nonchalantly. Nigel would glare at Shuten-Douji, but didn't say anything before his attention went back to the dead boy and Jude.

"I'm a doctor!" assured the boy, glancing back toward Nigel. "I mean, I'm not a coroner... but I can do something. I have to give him a look over."

"I guess all that talk about happy days and sunshine was a bunch of bollocks, yeah?"

"Oh, no!!"

Standing at the entrance of the cabin now was Usami, who looked absolutely devastated. "No, how could this happen! Usami was on patrol! Usami tried to get everyone to get along! There wasn't supposed to be anything like this!" The rabbit moaned, lowering her head and covering her eyes with her hands. "Who would do such a thing...?"

A flurry of emotions hit Kyoko's head all at once. Fear and adrenaline from the realization that, as can be deciphered from a murder, there was a murderer running around, and more notably, frustration and anger for not getting the chance to discuss more with him concerning their situation, relations in their home worlds, what's been going on there, and so on.

Things that Byakuya Togami really would have discussed.

"..."

Silently approaching the corpse, she knelt before him in what looked like a rare display of morose emotion for a brief moment.

"... Even to the end, for every lie you told us, even the one about who you were, the simple truth rang out very clearly that you wanted to keep everyone safe under your wing, didn't it?"

With that, she would stand up, turning to face the others when they would appear one by one at the cabin, a look of heated determination on her face.

"... Listen up, everybody. There's been a tragic murder this morning, and we need to figure out who the culprit is before they can make another move. That much goes without saying," she spoke, crossing her arms as she maintained a cool, calm breath.

"In his stead, I will take his place as the leader. And we don't have time for objections."

"The first order of business is... Let's not waste any time and try to recreate the crime scene. Am I understood?"

It was all like instinct to her. Like clockwork.

Again, this wasn't her first rodeo.

By the time Kyoko was done talking, Diana had fled the cabin. Shane and Mike still remained, Shane looking only annoyed as he held a smoking gun...

Sledge himself didn't seem to hesitate when screaming was heard... Perhaps he was already awake...? Well either way in his armor and gas mask he bolted out the door to Cabin C as fast as he could to where the source of screaming was coming from. Given his talent for speed he was probably one of the first people among the campers that got to the scene. Seeing Byakuya dead Sledge didn't have much of a reaction either. He just seemed to stand there for a moment as more people gathered to the scene.

"Stab wounds... Multiple could suggest a struggle... But since the wounds are in his back and no one discovered the body until this morning such a thing isn't likely. The next thing I would suspect is an ambush of some sort... Perhaps waking up in the middle of the night and getting up only to be brutally stabbed but... Regardless of if he could scream or not surely someone in the cabin had to have heard something....." Sledge had spoken up as he thought and sort of shot down his own theories. It seemed like he was merely brainstorming possible situations.

"I'd agree on that one.. The most efficient ways to kill with a bladed weapon is in one strike... So unless we're dealing with a sadist i'd wager we're dealing with some amateur... More importantly however we should be looking for people with bladed weaponry..." Sledge spoke remembering that all campers were stripped of their weaponry... He'd begin to suspect faculty members but didn't let that show just yet...

Byakuya was content with Kyoko's assessment. Even Zenyatta had ascertained the right idea. Byakuya nodded at the pair knowingly, looking satisfied. "Precisely. A gathering would also put everyone in one place for the evening, so I'll make sure to ask everyone not to leave once we've begun. Trust is of vital importance at this time, so those who wish to stray from the group will need to be made to understand..." Byakuya looked off to the side, his eyes trailing the line of trees circling around the great old tree and wondering what truth the foliage hid. "I'll be able to ascertain the unruly among us."

He looked back to find the "Ultimate Hextress" stripping down Kirgiri with her eyes, making Byakuya truly feel sick inside. What an awful feeling it was to feel the urge to throw up. The idea of throwing up food so carefully prepared and eaten was truly frightening.

"You can get a move on whenever you'd like," Byakuya deadpanned. He looked at Tharja as if inviting her to leave his presence. He would have said more if not for the sudden voice that boomed throughout the camp.

"Everyone! The sun is setting and it's time to eat! A bunch of yummy food has been prepared... so come down to the Visitor Center and enjoy! Please, let's all eat together!!"

The idea of food was tantalizing for the Ultimate Affluent Progeny. "Well then, it's time, and not soon enough. I have an Ultimate Appetite befitting one with a status such as mine."

The sun settled quickly, and soon the camp was bathed in soft moonlight. The wind had picked up, brushing against the trees and carrying whispers to the group of so-called students. Whether or not something really lurked in these woods, the foreboding atmosphere that the evening brought could give even the most stoic non-believer pause for concern. Hopefully Byakuya's concern about a possible danger lurking in the camp was little more than paranoia.

The Visitor Center was lit up, white lights adorning the roof of the building as if it was made up for Christmas. The lights were on inside, so everyone that entered would be greeted by the bright sight of the mammoth exhibit sitting in the lobby. A hastily made sign scribbled on in pink crayon and the smell of food directed everyone to a cafeteria area. A large window took up the back of the room, showing a display of the forest outside, brightened by moonlight. Though the area was small, Usami had somehow managed to fit enough tables and chairs into every nook and cranny to fit the large amount of students. Even Citizen Snow got a table all to himself.

Across the cafeteria's entrance sat an archway, separating the eating space from the kitchen. No one was inside, so who cooked the food sitting on display in the kitchen was ultimately a mystery. The food in question was lined up on the back counter of the kitchen like a buffet, ready for the group to poke and prod at. Dinner selections of all kinds were available, sure to satisfy just about everyone. Hopefully.

Standing in front of the wide window was Usami, who was practically beaming at seeing all her students.

"You're here! Usami is so excited! It's important for growing students to eat proper meals so that they can develop both their bodies and minds!" The rabbit giggled, clutching her tummy. "It's even known that eating in a group is a wonderful way to socialize!"

However, before anyone could make a move for the food, Byakuya barreled his way to the front of the pack. "I need to perform a food inspection! I, as your leader, will take samples to ensure the food is safe for consumption!" Byakuya charged into the kitchen, his immense footfalls shaking the room itself. He started grabbing at the food at rapid speeds, moving faster than anyone would expect of someone his size.

As food was being stuffed into his mouth, Byakuya spoke, "I am retaining my bodily functions... I still feel alert and aware of my surroundings... No sudden pain or even indigestion... I believe I can safely determine the food to not be poisoned." Byakuya waited to finish the last of the food items he'd tossed into his mouth. He wiped at his mouth with the back of his hand before turning around and facing the others.

"All right, then... proceed to grab your food items in an orderly fashion. Once you've sat down, wait in the cafeteria so that we may all participate in a debriefing. Please do not leave once we have begun."

Byakuya himself grabbed a sizable portion, somehow still hungry even after all the 'samples' he had taken. Diana was picky with her food, looking like she honestly wanted to be anywhere but here, but she had to admit that she was ravenously hungry. She specifically chose to find a seat next to Neon, hoping to continue their earlier talk. Jude, who still was exasperated from the mess that was the forest group, silently grabbed only the food he felt he could consume before sitting down in the cafeteria.

Once everyone was seated, Byakuya left his seat to move to the front of the room where Usami stood. The rabbit shook and quickly moved aside to allow the boy to speak.

"I understand that some of you may not be too happy with my natural ability to lead. That is fine. I will not dismiss your concerns, for I would likely feel the same if I were in your lowly positions. However, I look around and still see the same failures that I witnessed on the bus. We are like chickens with their heads removed, lost among each other. That is the true reason why I am standing here at this moment: to give you the direction you so sorely lack. All groups need a leader, that much is certain! Here, right now, I promise once again that I will lead everyone back to their normal lives!"

With an undeniably intense expression, Byakuya lifted an arm and pointed at the group sitting before him. "If anyone else spoke these words, they would ring hollow, but I am Byakuya Togami, and I am destined to bring these promises to fruition!"

These words seemed to set Shane off, who stood in anger.

"That's fucking bullshit, man, and you know it."

Shane knocked over his chair as he left the room, leaving his plate of food untouched.

"Hmph. No matter." Byakuya looked unconcerned as he crossed his arms. "If just he is absent, that shouldn't pose a problem. He can't do anything alone, and I doubt he would have anything useful to say anyway... Now, listen up, due to a lack of communication, can I determine that we found nothing out about this camp? Aside from the mysterious circumstances and the force that keeps us from leaving, is there nothing out of the ordinary to be found here? Speak now and express your thoughts."

Nigel just scoffed at Byakuya's little speech. "He really thinks he's in charge, doesn't he?" He would've remarked about fat white guys always thinking they were in charge... though Nigel had never met a white guy called Byakuya before.

Shuten-Douji was sitting next to him, reunited with her sake plate... She was drinking from it, but the people around her couldn't be quite sure what it was. "The cub thinks it's a lion, it is what it is. That line of thinking will put him at odds with the hyenas soon enough."

"Riiiiight..." Nigel remarked at the oni.

"U-Uuu..." Usami had backed away, shrinking into a corner of the room. "This camp is safe, I promise... Usami is here to protect everyone..."

Poison had woken up late realized that the cabin and the camp in general was way too quiet would head out of the cabin to see what was going on. Seeing the crowd gathering around Cabin H she'd make her way there.

"Hey guys what are all of you doing he- Is that a body?"

Neon Katt looked visibly distressed as the others looked the body over. "I-I thought this was supposed to be a fun time?"

Jack had known this would happen. He had had the chance to potentially prevent this by intervening further into Shane's matters, but no, he had simply thought the man was only full of false confidence and arrogance. Yet it was the samurai's own complacency and arrogance that held him from confronting Shane sooner. For that, a young man had paid the price, and for a moment, he felt the weight of the gunman's sins upon his heart before shaking it away.

"So, it seems my worst fears have been confirmed..." Without a moment's hesitation, he stepped forward with a glare leveled towards Shane, "I should have intervened sooner, to ensure this tragedy had not occurred... However, I will not hesitate now. I suggest you willingly surrender your firearm, before I take it from you by force."

"W-What the hell?! W-Why are their guns at a camp?!"

Mike hadn't arrived in time to hear Shane's explanation and quite frankly even if he had, it wouldn't have calmed him down. Going from bumping faces with some freaky talking animal to an angry guy with a gun, things seemed like they were getting worse instead of better. Clutching the pillow closer to his chest like some kind of security blanket,Mike turned and saw the corpse in the cabin and his face turned as pale as a sheet.

"Oh no..Oh nononono!"

Rushing back outside of the cabin, Mike stood off to the side as he began to wretch. Creatures, guns, and death? It's like he left home only to find somewhere even worse! Shuddering both in nervousness and fear at what was to come next, Catbug glanced out concernedly at Mike before waddling towards the body. Catbug may have decapitated the Jelly Kid but even so the concepts of death and not coming back alluded the creature's child-like mind.

"Mike! It's okay! He's just sleeping! Yup, just having a nice nap."

There was some shred of hesitance in Catbug's voice given the blood around the body. But was he saying this to assure Mike that things were okay? Or was he trying to convince himself?

"Ggrzzk....mm...five more...minutes..."

What was that noise, exactly? Sounded like screaming? And, from inside the cabin? Reluctant to wake up, Honda still forced himself to wake, finding the otherwise docile Morikubo looking absolutely terrified. That...woke him up a little. If someone like the Ultimate Wallflower was screaming so loudly, something was very, very wrong.

And, as he followed his cabinmate to Cabin H, he soon found out why. "Oh my God!!" The corpse of their former leader was now on the ground, and someome had a gun too?! He could deal with the body in a second, but this armed fellow needed to be subdued.

"You!!" He pointed at Shane. "There's been a murder,and there's very clearly a murderer on the loose! Do you really think keeping more weapons for them to steal and use is a good idea?!? And why did you even feel the need to shoot your gun?! Why did you shoot?!"​

Zinnia had been distracted for a while, playing with her fruit like a child. She had bit off a chunk of her apple and mixed it with her peaches and had bit off other chunks of her apple, stacking them on top of one another. She ate a little bit of it, but she was still distracted by playing with it for the most part, and also by listening to Genji and Wanda.

She teasingly hummed a love song while she listened to them, actually saying nothing so they could have a chance to talk. It must've been nice to be attracted to someone and be able to openly admit it. Zinnia was so used to being alone that she didn't really know how to express such things.

After dinner was over and the group began to head out, instead of heading to sleep inside her cabin, Zinnia climbed on the roof of her cabin and watched the stars for a while before going to sleep. She was lonely and missed Aster, so it took her a while. But the roof was a better alternative. She wasn't about to sleep in the same space as Tarelotte! Humph! :P

The next morning Usami's voice wasn't enough to stir Zinnia awake, but instead the gunshot was. She quickly sat up and straight up jumped off the roof and rushed over to Cabin H as fast as she could, skidding to a stop when she arrived.

"Oh jeez, Byakuya--" she began to say, pressing a hand over her mouth. "Are you sure he was killed by a bladed weapon, Jude?" she asked, disgusted by the situation but relieved at the same time all of her friends were still safe. She shot a glare in Shane's direction. "The gunshot was uncalled for."

Looking over the body and the wall with his eyes from afar, Jack could see that Jude was correct. Given they had heard only one gunshot and it seemed that not were Togami's wounds stab wounds, it seemed that Shane was telling the truth that he had shot not at Togami but for some other reason. The others seemed to believe it was unneeded, however, he wondered for a moment why the man would shoot without cause... And not at Togami himself.

"Apologizes, Shane, it seems I was too hasty. Will you please explain why you fired your gun... and if it was at the culprit for this murder?"

He bowed his head when he apologized while maintaining his eyes upon the gunman.

Darv grunts, removing his helm and setting it down on the floor, he kneels, examining the wounds "I'd wager this is the work of an amateur. For someone who knows how to kill, one strike is enough"

"However, I won't know until I get a better look"

Turning toward Jack, Darv quirks a brow. Another from Kar'hi? Fascinating "I believe he stated he fired on reflex, startled by the scream of the young girl" after a moment of pause, a sly grin crept across the sellsword's lips "Although that may be a cover up and he was responsible for both the gunshot and the scream. Who am I to say?"

With all the commotion going on, Bolin came flying into Cabin H. "Oh no! This can't be happening!" He started to break out in tears.




Before he could do so, he then noticed a scared catbug standing there as well. With a mightly scoop, Bolin held the tiny creature in his arms. "Don't you worry, little buddy, I'll take care of you. Nothing will hurt you. Everything will-will be alright." He was trying his best to choke down his tears to no avail while trying to comfort his new friend.

Shane gave the group a slight roll of his eyes. He wasn't sure why they so intent on pissing him off with a gun in his hands. "Don't you idiots listen?" He gestured to Darv aggressively. "He got it! Why did I shoot the gun? I thought the girl was being fuckin' attacked! She screamed so loud that she got all o' you out here, didn't she? And, hell, if you think I got the girl to scream, then go ask her about it."

Jude was still considering Zinnia's question toward him. "Hm... Well, it would have to be. The wounds are very deep, so either it was a long, pointed object or weapon... or a long, bladed weapon. Either way, I don't think I've seen anything that could fit those conditions. The forks and knives in the cafeteria are much too small." As for Sledge's suggestion of a possible struggle, Jude shook his head. "Yeah, a struggle isn't likely. He was stabbed from behind and there aren't very many other wounds on him... There did seem to be some scraping on the side of Byakuya's face, but its minor enough to not be related."

"Uuu... Uuu..." Usami was openly weeping now, having backed up into a corner of the cabin. She heard Morikubo refer to her, but the rabbit was too distraught to form words for the moment. Jude walked over to the rabbit and knelt down in front of her so that he could place a comforting hand on one of her tiny shoulders.

"Hey, hey... it's okay, Usami. It's not your fault. We'll figure this out and make sure whoever did this can't hurt anyone ever again. There won't be anymore deaths and we'll all work it out, I promise."

"Uuu..." Usami sniffed, rubbing at her eyes with her pink hands. She slowly nodded her head, though it wasn't clear if she was entirely assured by what Jude had said. "Usami was patrolling all night... I made sure to walk up and down the trail to make sure everyone was sleeping soundly in their cabins! But... B-But..."

"The trail?" Jude stood up and walked to the door of the cabin. He looked outside momentarily before turning back to Usami. "The trail weaves through the cabins, but H and I are uniquely placed, right? They're on one side of the trail, while all the cabins are on the other side. So, unless something very out of the ordinary was happening or Usami missed something--"

"I didn't! I was being very diligent for everybody's sake!"

"Right, so... I would have to imagine the only people who could have killed Byakuya were sleeping in Cabin H, or Cabin I. Morikubo, what did you mean when you said Cabin H wasn't Byakuya's cabin?"

Jack nodded as all of the information was passed on to them. Knowing they would know need to investigate each of the cabin members for weaponry, the samurai had an idea as to how to discover if Diana wielded a knife or dagger before now.

"One final question, Shane. At any point, did you notice Miss Diana wielding a blade of any kind? I doubt you have such a tool as I believe you would have used it, and out of your cabin members, Diana is the only one not here for us to question. At any moment, she could have dropped the blade in a hidden place to cover her tracks."

Thinking for a moment, he then sighed and shook his head, "And do not be afraid to admit her involvement. If this is a case of self-defense, then I am sure we can find some way for leniency."

H or I, huh? Well, there was one way to figure out where he was killed, then they could figure out the who! Honda kneeled besides Togami and started looking for certain pieces of evidence: how much blood was around the body, how warm the body still was, and if any blood had dried or cooled. He had to keep a mouth over his hand as he did so, trying so hard not to throw up everything he ate last night.

Putting a hand on her chin thoughtfully, Kyoko nodded at Morikubo's assessment. It looked like there was far more than initially met the eye indeed. That said, this needed to be shared with everyone, it seemed.

"She means that... if you were to look at the list again, you'd see that even though his body is in here in Cabin H, he was assigned to Cabin I instead, so it makes one wonder... What was he doing in here in the first place? I doubt he could have been dragged here posthumously without anyone noticing, considering his..." Kyoko cleared her throat, "... size."

"Still, good eye, Morikubo. Just stay calm and we can piece the rest of this together," she complimented the fearful girl.

"Now, if it's without a doubt that the culprits lie within Cabins H and I, then we still have a number of suspects. Here."​

"Assuming Diana and Walsh aren't co-conspiring and somehow covering this up, I think we can safely remove them from the suspect list, leaving... five suspects left. I already have a hypothesis on who it might be, but... I'll let the rest of you pick up the pieces to see for yourselves," the new self-proclaimed leader spoke, crossing her arms.

"You think I pay attention to her?" Shane asked Jack, eyes squinting. "You think I give a crap about her? I don't know if she had a weapon and I sure as hell don't know if she used it. I only woke up when she screamed, all right?"

"Dragged or lured, huh...?" Jude joined Honda in examining the body. "Give me some time and I'll clean up the blood a bit to do a better examination." Honda would find that the limbs of the body were cold but that Byakuya's torso was still warm. He would also find there was far more blood on Byakuya's suit than around him and that the blood on his suit had mostly dried, while the blood on the ground was still wet.

Twilight Update
"A Death in the Family"

Byakuya listened to the conversations going on around him carefully. Though there was little talk of the nature of the camp or who was ultimately behind all this, there was far less fighting going than there had been all day. It would seem that, finally, this forced coexistence was leading to some kind of cooperation. Byakuya now knew who the ones were to look out for were, those being Shane and Diana. Shane seemed the type who would never get along with the rest of the group, at least not before some major changes occurred. As for Diana, Byakuya had not the slightest clue why she seemed so hostile with him. It was a matter to worry about for another day.

"I'd like to say one final thing before we go to bed this evening!" declared the boy, standing up tall for all to see. His plate of food was unsurprisingly clean. "Tonight, our first night, is integral. Keep vigilant and keep on the watch for suspicious activity! However, do try to get a good night's rest... I will not tolerate tardiness for breakfast tomorrow morning! Attendance should be mandatory so that we may determine our plan of action for the day!"

"Riiiight..."

Diana was next to stand, smirking and staring straight at Byakuya. She looked at him as if he was totally beneath her.

"You still expect us to hop on your command? All you do is bark and frankly, it's quite annoying. You know, I don't think I even like dogs... and I certainly can't stand ones that won't shut up. How about you take your fat mouth and your fat self and walk right into those woods. Please, never come back." Byakuya was visibly furious by the time Diana was finished. He was tired of this girl's hate for him and her distaste for working well with others. He clutched a fist and glared daggers at her, but Diana coolly brushed the boy off and began leaving the cafeteria. Her laughter echoed in from outside as she left the Visitor Center.

"Tch..." Closing his eyes, it took Byakuya a few moments to gather himself. He eventually relaxed, dropping his arm and opening his eyes to look around at the group. "If that will be all the outbursts we have this evening, then I think we should retire for the night."

As the cafeteria filled with the sound of scraping chairs and footsteps, Usami spoke up once again. "Don't worry, everyone! I will be patrolling the cabin area to make sure nothing fishy is going on! Please relax and have a good rest! Remember to review the notice board to make sure you know where you're sleeping!"

The students left the Visitor Center and walked into the night. The notice board still stood, the name plaques hanging from their wooden pegs...

Having fallen asleep atop Chikage's head, it was only natural that upon being told to go to their cabins for the night, that Chikage would have returned Catbug to the cabin that he had been assigned to along with Lapis and two others. Laying outside the cabin for some time, Catbug finally awoke as the earliest glimpses of sunlight began to emit down onto the creature. Sitting up, Catbug groaned as he didn't get what he wanted to do last night, which was to have waved goodbye to Chikage as she walked off to likely join her own cabin mates. What a nice friend she was!

But Catbug was still pretty sleepy. Glancing up at the cabin door, Catbug shakily walked up the stairs before jumping up to grab at the door handle and pull it open. This was going to be quite the new and exciting experience! He'd get to have a whole bed all to himself! But before Catbug could celebrate as he jumped down and entered the cabin, he noticed a figure seemingly shifting under one of the beds.

"Hm... Meow! I see someone hiding under a bed!"

Getting on all fours, Catbug pounced forward and whatever may have been hiding under his bed was quickly alarmed by this talking creature rushing straight towards him. The stranger bolted out from under the bed, but not before giving Catbug a good clean kick to the head. "S-Stay back! D-Do you hear me I said stay back!"

Wincing and rubbing at where he had been kicked straight in the forehead, Catbug climbed atop the bed to get a good look at his assailant. It was surprising to say the least.

"You're just a little babu!"

"Ba... What?! I'm no baby, I'm twelve years old, jerk! Why don't you get your brain checked out?!" The young boy snapped back, clearly looking he was quite agitated and confused with everything that had been going on. But he also realized that implying a creature that looked like Catbug might not have been the smartest move, he held up his hands. "I... I'm sorry. It's just I don't know how I got here! I'm Mike..."

"Catbug! It's nice to meet you, Mike! You're at a camp!" Catbug explained cheerfully though it still wasn't very helpful to Mike. "... I figured it was a camp! The cabins, the woods, pretty much everything about this place! I don't know what I'm doing here!"

Oh. Well, then it seemed like he was in the same boat as everyone else!

"Same! But how come you didn't try finding us, Mike?" Catbug asked, to which Mike responded derisively with a roll of his eyes. "Yeah, because when I show up in a camp and have no idea how I got there, the first thing I'm gonna do is ask some Cat... Ladybug... thing for help! Can't you just call my parents or something?!"

"No phone! Well, at least I don't have one otherwise I'd totally let you use it!" Being a Catbug meant you were quite limited on where you could store things. But he could tell Mike was clearly frightened... Catbug would have done something, if not for the sudden and scream coming from another cabin. Catbug quickly turned and raced for the door. "Come on, Mike! We need to go see what that was!" Catbug yelled, seemingly expecting Mike to just fall in line.

Were the situation different, maybe Mike would have hesitated. But he wasn't going to give up on getting out of here just because of some weird talking hybrid animal thing. Reluctantly arming himself with a pillow, Mike ran out after Catbug. The pair were completely unaware of what awaited the two of them at the scene of the scream...

As morning crept upon the camp, Usami's voice erupted throughout: "Wakey wakey, eggs and bakey! Usami is happy to declare that a new day has begun! Let's face the morning sun and bring hope into our hearts!"

However, that wasn't the only thing to echo throughout the camp. There was a scream. Diana's scream, to be precise, followed by what sounded like a gunshot. Any who would rush to Cabin H would find a horrifying sight.

In the cabin was Diana, Shane, Nigel, and Mike Dawson, the group staring at the sight of Byakuya Togami's corpse. The fat boy was sitting on the floor of the cabin in a pool of blood, his back against the wall. His chin rested against his chest, his blond hair disheveled and in disarray.

"How... How?! Why is he dead?! What the fuck!"

"...!"

Having been one of the first, if not the first besides those who had already been residing within Cabin H to begin with, to arrive on the scene, Kyoko let out an audible gasp, displaying a rare sign of visible shock on her features when the body of their once so confident and self-assured leader would be found brutally murdered so suddenly.

Of course, it wasn't sudden at all, was it?

No, for people like her and him, these kinds of things were always bound to happen in situations like these.

Walking into the cabin in a bit of a daze was Jude Mathis, who stared at the body of Byakuya like it was some strange alien object. As if in slow motion, the buy turned to take in the room, his eyes eventually landing on one of the spectators. "You... You, make sure you bring everyone else here. Everyone has to know about this!"

Said spectator was Old Man McGucket, who said, "It's happening! The end times! I'll tell everybody!"

As the old man left, Jude started moving much more quickly, dropping down next to Byakuya to examine the body. "How could this have happened? At what time...?" As Jude pondered these questions, Nigel was next to speak up.

"Hey, no one touch the body until we figure out what the hell is going on." Nigel said this mostly to the expanding group of spectators, but he intended it for Jude as well.

"Oh...? I think it's quite clear what happened. The lion has been devoured by the hyenas," Shuten-Douji replied nonchalantly. Nigel would glare at Shuten-Douji, but didn't say anything before his attention went back to the dead boy and Jude.

"I'm a doctor!" assured the boy, glancing back toward Nigel. "I mean, I'm not a coroner... but I can do something. I have to give him a look over."

"I guess all that talk about happy days and sunshine was a bunch of bollocks, yeah?"

"Oh, no!!"

Standing at the entrance of the cabin now was Usami, who looked absolutely devastated. "No, how could this happen! Usami was on patrol! Usami tried to get everyone to get along! There wasn't supposed to be anything like this!" The rabbit moaned, lowering her head and covering her eyes with her hands. "Who would do such a thing...?"

A flurry of emotions hit Kyoko's head all at once. Fear and adrenaline from the realization that, as can be deciphered from a murder, there was a murderer running around, and more notably, frustration and anger for not getting the chance to discuss more with him concerning their situation, relations in their home worlds, what's been going on there, and so on.

Things that Byakuya Togami really would have discussed.

"..."

Silently approaching the corpse, she knelt before him in what looked like a rare display of morose emotion for a brief moment.

"... Even to the end, for every lie you told us, even the one about who you were, the simple truth rang out very clearly that you wanted to keep everyone safe under your wing, didn't it?"

With that, she would stand up, turning to face the others when they would appear one by one at the cabin, a look of heated determination on her face.

"... Listen up, everybody. There's been a tragic murder this morning, and we need to figure out who the culprit is before they can make another move. That much goes without saying," she spoke, crossing her arms as she maintained a cool, calm breath.

"In his stead, I will take his place as the leader. And we don't have time for objections."

"The first order of business is... Let's not waste any time and try to recreate the crime scene. Am I understood?"

It was all like instinct to her. Like clockwork.

Again, this wasn't her first rodeo.

By the time Kyoko was done talking, Diana had fled the cabin. Shane and Mike still remained, Shane looking only annoyed as he held a smoking gun...

Zenyatta would have given a nod to Genji, brightening up at the happier tone of his students voice, and the happier tone of Wandas voice. If there is peace between the two, and peace within their minds, then the teacher has nothing left to teach. He glanced briefly at Byakuya and Diana, shaking his head at their argument.

Where there is harmony for one, there is discord for others.

The monk would give a respectful bow to his student, Jack, Zinnia, Wanda, Poison, and just about everyone around, turning and walking to his dorm. It is unknown if Zenyatta actually slept, as 'sleep' is not a typical part of Omnic life, especially that of a tireless, wandering monk. He would sit on his bed in a meditative pose for hours on end into the night, silently communing with the universe and disciplining his mind amidst his slumbering allies. His body was completely frozen, so much so that Usami wouldn't have noticed he was still awake if she checked in.

It would be a very, very late hour when the lights on Zenyattas forehead would blink for a few seconds before finally falling dark, the quietly rumbling core inside the Omnics chest falling silent as it powered down.

The scene of a brutal murder stood before the peaceful monk, as he awoke to the sound of screams and argument. He silently stood in a doorway, staring at the scene before him. Lowering his head slightly, the monk shook it in either disappointment or sadness.

"Death is whimsical today..." he toned, his voice grim to match the scene, but not necessarily sad or shocked at all.

The monk would calmly walk past the crack investigators, and their new de-facto leader, approaching the large corpse of the boy. Kneeling down, the machine would clasp his hands and lower his head, his lights dimming slightly as he gave Byakuya a few moments of prayer.

"May you find some tranquility in another life, leader."

A quick nod, and Zenyatta was done. Rising from his position, he turned to look at the rest of the cabin. He would note Mike, a young boy who didn't appear on the bus yesterday, run out of the cabin, briefly followed by the innocent Catbug. He would walk past the investigators again, towards the cabin door. Stopping as he walked past Genji, he turned and rested a hand on his students shoulder, giving him a reassuring nod before exiting the cabin.

Death is no new concept to his student, but some reassurance never hurts.

"W-What the hell?! W-Why are their guns at a camp?!"

Mike hadn't arrived in time to hear Shane's explanation and quite frankly even if he had, it wouldn't have calmed him down. Going from bumping faces with some freaky talking animal to an angry guy with a gun, things seemed like they were getting worse instead of better. Clutching the pillow closer to his chest like some kind of security blanket,Mike turned and saw the corpse in the cabin and his face turned as pale as a sheet.

"Oh no..Oh nononono!"

Rushing back outside of the cabin, Mike stood off to the side as he began to wretch. Creatures, guns, and death? It's like he left home only to find somewhere even worse! Shuddering both in nervousness and fear at what was to come next, Catbug glanced out concernedly at Mike before waddling towards the body. Catbug may have decapitated the Jelly Kid but even so the concepts of death and not coming back alluded the creature's child-like mind.

"Mike! It's okay! He's just sleeping! Yup, just having a nice nap."

There was some shred of hesitance in Catbug's voice given the blood around the body. But was he saying this to assure Mike that things were okay? Or was he trying to convince himself?

"Pardon me.." a soothing, cybernetic voice spoke out from behind Mike, accompanied by soft, mechanical whirring and quiet footfalls.

If Mike turned, he would see...

A bald robot man with old, monk-looking pants, wearing sandals.

"Before you ask, I am indeed a robot," Zenyatta would quickly interrupt Mike before he would panic even further at the presence of the humanoid machine, "But, that is not important. What is important, is that you must calm down, young one."

Zenyatta spoke in his most calming voice, keeping some distance between himself and the boy, trying his best not to provoke him or induce further panic. As far as Mike was concerned, the robot didn't look like he was trying to kill him or grab him, and he didn't seem like the typical "BEEP BOOP DOES NOT COMPUTE" robot.

Looking over the body and the wall with his eyes from afar, Jack could see that Jude was correct. Given they had heard only one gunshot and it seemed that not were Togami's wounds stab wounds, it seemed that Shane was telling the truth that he had shot not at Togami but for some other reason. The others seemed to believe it was unneeded, however, he wondered for a moment why the man would shoot without cause... And not at Togami himself.

"Apologizes, Shane, it seems I was too hasty. Will you please explain why you fired your gun... and if it was at the culprit for this murder?"

He bowed his head when he apologized while maintaining his eyes upon the gunman.

Darv grunts, removing his helm and setting it down on the floor, he kneels, examining the wounds "I'd wager this is the work of an amateur. For someone who knows how to kill, one strike is enough"

Turning toward Jack, Darv quirks a brow. Another from Kar'hi? Fascinating "I believe he stated he fired on reflex, startled by the scream of the young girl" after a moment of pause, a sly grin crept across the sellsword's lips "Although that may be a cover up and he was responsible for both the gunshot and the scream. Who am I to say?"

Sledge himself didn't seem to hesitate when screaming was heard... Perhaps he was already awake...? Well either way in his armor and gas mask he bolted out the door to Cabin C as fast as he could to where the source of screaming was coming from. Given his talent for speed he was probably one of the first people among the campers that got to the scene. Seeing Byakuya dead Sledge didn't have much of a reaction either. He just seemed to stand there for a moment as more people gathered to the scene.

"Stab wounds... Multiple could suggest a struggle... But since the wounds are in his back and no one discovered the body until this morning such a thing isn't likely. The next thing I would suspect is an ambush of some sort... Perhaps waking up in the middle of the night and getting up only to be brutally stabbed but... Regardless of if he could scream or not surely someone in the cabin had to have heard something....." Sledge had spoken up as he thought and sort of shot down his own theories. It seemed like he was merely brainstorming possible situations.

"I'd agree on that one.. The most efficient ways to kill with a bladed weapon is in one strike... So unless we're dealing with a sadist i'd wager we're dealing with some amateur... More importantly however we should be looking for people with bladed weaponry..." Sledge spoke remembering that all campers were stripped of their weaponry... He'd begin to suspect faculty members but didn't let that show just yet...

With all the commotion going on, Bolin came flying into Cabin H. "Oh no! This can't be happening!" He started to break out in tears.

Before he could do so, he then noticed a scared catbug standing there as well. With a mightly scoop, Bolin held the tiny creature in his arms. "Don't you worry, little buddy, I'll take care of you. Nothing will hurt you. Everything will-will be alright." He was trying his best to choke down his tears to no avail while trying to comfort his new friend.

Shane gave the group a slight roll of his eyes. He wasn't sure why they so intent on pissing him off with a gun in his hands. "Don't you idiots listen?" He gestured to Darv aggressively. "He got it! Why did I shoot the gun? I thought the girl was being fuckin' attacked! She screamed so loud that she got all o' you out here, didn't she? And, hell, if you think I got the girl to scream, then go ask her about it."

Jude was still considering Zinnia's question toward him. "Hm... Well, it would have to be. The wounds are very deep, so either it was a long, pointed object or weapon... or a long, bladed weapon. Either way, I don't think I've seen anything that could fit those conditions. The forks and knives in the cafeteria are much too small." As for Sledge's suggestion of a possible struggle, Jude shook his head. "Yeah, a struggle isn't likely. He was stabbed from behind and there aren't very many other wounds on him... There did seem to be some scraping on the side of Byakuya's face, but its minor enough to not be related."

"Uuu... Uuu..." Usami was openly weeping now, having backed up into a corner of the cabin. She heard Morikubo refer to her, but the rabbit was too distraught to form words for the moment. Jude walked over to the rabbit and knelt down in front of her so that he could place a comforting hand on one of her tiny shoulders.

"Hey, hey... it's okay, Usami. It's not your fault. We'll figure this out and make sure whoever did this can't hurt anyone ever again. There won't be anymore deaths and we'll all work it out, I promise."

"Uuu..." Usami sniffed, rubbing at her eyes with her pink hands. She slowly nodded her head, though it wasn't clear if she was entirely assured by what Jude had said. "Usami was patrolling all night... I made sure to walk up and down the trail to make sure everyone was sleeping soundly in their cabins! But... B-But..."

"The trail?" Jude stood up and walked to the door of the cabin. He looked outside momentarily before turning back to Usami. "The trail weaves through the cabins, but H and I are uniquely placed, right? They're on one side of the trail, while all the cabins are on the other side. So, unless something very out of the ordinary was happening or Usami missed something--"

"I didn't! I was being very diligent for everybody's sake!"

"Right, so... I would have to imagine the only people who could have killed Byakuya were sleeping in Cabin H, or Cabin I. Morikubo, what did you mean when you said Cabin H wasn't Byakuya's cabin?"

"Young man, Bolin, correct?"

Turning from Shane for a moment, the samurai approached the young man who seemed to be breaking down and placed a hand on his shoulder, "Please, calm yourself. Your tears are not a good means to placate the pain of this moment, and so for now, hold your tears. You will have time to mourn at a later point, but for now, we must focus upon the task at hand."

With that, he turned from Bolin and faced Shane once again.

Jack nodded as all of the information was passed on to them. Knowing they would know need to investigate each of the cabin members for weaponry, the samurai had an idea as to how to discover if Diana wielded a knife or dagger before now.

"One final question, Shane. At any point, did you notice Miss Diana wielding a blade of any kind? I doubt you have such a tool as I believe you would have used it, and out of your cabin members, Diana is the only one not here for us to question. At any moment, she could have dropped the blade in a hidden place to cover her tracks."

Thinking for a moment, he then sighed and shook his head, "And do not be afraid to admit her involvement. If this is a case of self-defense, then I am sure we can find some way for leniency."

H or I, huh? Well, there was one way to figure out where he was killed, then they could figure out the who! Honda kneeled besides Togami and started looking for certain pieces of evidence: how much blood was around the body, how warm the body still was, and if any blood had dried or cooled. He had to keep a mouth over his hand as he did so, trying so hard not to throw up everything he ate last night.

"You look... somewhat familiar..." Nono winces as she takes a look at him, "anyways, Morikubo believes that the situation must have at least involved Togami-san moving from Cabin I to Cabin H in some way... since you believe that the culprit could've either been from Cabins H or I... Morikubo thinks...

... Togami-san was killed and moved by someone in Cabin I, so that they could frame someone in Cabin H...

... The killer lured Togami-san from Cabin I to Cabin H through some form or way...

... Noooo... Morikubo cannot think of anything else... this case, is sucking Morikubo's soul out..."

Well, that was all that could be emmited from her mouth.

Putting a hand on her chin thoughtfully, Kyoko nodded at Morikubo's assessment. It looked like there was far more than initially met the eye indeed. That said, this needed to be shared with everyone, it seemed.

"She means that... if you were to look at the list again, you'd see that even though his body is in here in Cabin H, he was assigned to Cabin I instead, so it makes one wonder... What was he doing in here in the first place? I doubt he could have been dragged here posthumously without anyone noticing, considering his..." Kyoko cleared her throat, "... size."

Instead, he joined Jude at the body, cocking a brow at the odd properties of the blood.

"Should there not be more blood around the body, and if the murder was done, it also be as dried as the blood on his body?" It seemed highly suspicious, given that if he began to bleed while on the ground, the blood should have begun to dry evenly whether upon his body or the ground itself.

Now, Honda wasn't a detective or forensics expert, but these details, and that scraping, gave him an idea.

"Holy crap! I don't think he was killed here!!! With all these stab wounds, you'd think the actual scene of the crime would be bloodier!!"

That said, Honda started a hunt for any signs of a dragged body, or bloodstains, from Cabin H to Cabin I, even looking inside Cabin I itself.
