[June 22nd, Late Afternoon / Ramen Shop]

"What are you guys thinking of having? I might just ask for whatever. I can't be bothered to make a decision as difficult as choosing my first Pokemon all over again."

Leo scratched his neck, "Whatever looks the most edible". He turned his head to Nao, "But uh, Bulbasaur...duh" Letting out a smile, Leo took his hands out of his pockets and clasped his hands. "I might just eat a table at this point"

"Can I get that?" Leo looked at Chiyo, and slowly followed her finger to the text. He coughed awkwardly as he read the price. Grumbling under his breath, Leo took out his wallet. "Sure~" He mumbled out.

Ordering the two meals for himself and Nao, (By pointing, as he had long given up on pronouncing the meals.) He glanced between Chiyo and the menu. "And the super mega thingy please". Passing the money over the counter he swiftly turned around. "Instant service, this is the thing of dreams."

Taking a seat, (or more like falling gracefully onto a seat while holding his food.)

Clapping his hands, Leo grinned. "Food, in my stomach right now" He chanted some song in English while he waved his hands wildly in the air.

Looking up at Chiyo with his mouthful of food, he began to speak before swallowing and continuing. "You see, if you run and exercise. You work up a mean appetite".

Leo looked around, somewhat crowded he thought. It was new and they were handing out coupons. There would probably be many students from Hisakawa.

[June 22nd, Late Afternoon / Ramen Shop]

"Can I get that?" Nao turned his head towards Chiyo and followed her pointed finger to the bottom of the menu. In big, red letters was written:

SUPER-MEGA-ULTRA-XXL FIRE-HOT SEAFOOD SCRAMBLE RAMEN!
EAT IT WITHIN AN HOUR AND YOUR ENTIRE MEAL IS FREE!
(Drink included with meal, if you don't finish it the price is 6065.50 yen - that's $50.00 for you learning students out there!)

Well, that was Chiyo for you. Despite her petite figure and lack of exercise, she always seemed to be hungry, and for some pretty ridiculous things, too. He glanced over towards his childhood friend, finding that the taller boy was clearly disconcerted with Chiyo's decision. Still, with a cough and a mumbled "Sure," he fished some money out of his wallet and paid for both of the boys' ramen. "And the super mega thingy please," Leo said to the server, ordering for Chiyo. Nao couldn't help but notice that Leo did not bother to say the names of their orders, instead pointing at the menu. Combined with Leo's earlier expression that he couldn't read the signs around the city properly, Nao said, "I'll help you with your Japanese some time." Teasingly, he added in English, "You must learn the language of my people." Of course, there was a noticeably Japanese accent, but he didn't have much trouble speaking that sentence. In fact, Nao was pretty good with his English, barring any times he would forget certain words.

With Nao's and Leo's ramen paid for, and everybody's food given to them, Leo walked over and pretty much fell into a seat. Whether they would have to pay for Chiyo would be decided later, depending on if the girl could finish it or not. Nao handed his coupon to their server and followed Leo slowly, keeping his eyes down on his ramen, not wanting to spill any. Upon reaching Leo's side, he sat himself with a little more tact than the other boy. And... ate with a lot more tact, compared to how Leo boisterously sang some kind of English song while strangely waving his hands in the air. Table manners. Some people didn't seem to have them. Not that it was Nao's business anyway, but it did make him slightly uncomfortable. Not that he would say so. Instead, he questioned, "What exactly are you doing? Is that some kind of ritual?"

Nao took his chopsticks and grabbed some noodles, pulling them into his mouth. It was pretty good. Hopefully this shop would see much success in the future so that he could visit it often. After Leo finished his chanting, he spoke to Chiyo, food still in his mouth, "You see, if you run and exercise. You work up a mean appetite." That was true, but it seemed like Leo was hungry often, even when not exercising. And Chiyo, well, she was just always hungry, even though she didn't do much exercise herself. Nao commented, "Or you could just do nothing and starve yourself until you work up an appetite far greater than you'd get from mere exercise." He turned to Chiyo. "Maybe we'll train you more gradually some other time. Only if you're willing, of course."

As Leo looked around, Nao followed suit whilst chewing on some noodles. There were many people around. Ideally, there would've been fewer people as Nao disliked crowds, but there wasn't much he could do about that. It did at least suggest that this newly-opened shop was doing well for itself and would hopefully continue to do so for some time. His purple eyes scanned over the room from left to right and back before stopping on a familiar girl. His mouth stopped working on the noodles inside. Mizuki? He stared at the girl for a few seconds, but it felt like an eternity had passed as regret flooded his mind, submerging the memories that lay trapped within. Nostalgia. Remorse. Emptiness. Pain. And he could do nothing but accept it. If only things had turned out differently. If only people, including Mizuki and himself, weren't so stupid. If only life were a little more fair, then maybe they'd still be together, and he wouldn't be as fearful of the future. Contrary to the stoic face he wore, much like he usually did, several thoughts spiralled down his head and pierced his heart.

The white-haired boy blinked as he returned to reality, turning away from Mizuki and peering into his bowl of ramen. Nao didn't want to be there much longer. It was awkward enough just being in the same room as his ex, even excluding the pain that was involved. He dug into the noodles with his chopsticks and ate swiftly. After finishing most of his bowl, he wiped his mouth with a napkin that was then crumpled up and placed beside his bowl. Digging into his back pocket, he took out his wallet and dropped 2000 yen onto the table. "This'll cover for some of Chiyo's food if she fails to finish. And, it would have made up for my food as well." Sighing, Nao stood up, and with a smile, said, "Thanks for the food, guys. I'll see you later. I have to go home now." Without waiting for a response, he turned on his heel and walked away from the table, towards the exit of the shop. With his back turned to his friends, his fake smile faded away. It was time to return home, or what he preferred to call it, prison. Then again, he didn't necessarily have to return to prison anyway; the world itself was a prison.

[June 22nd, Late Afternoon | Outside School | Ramen Shop]

While she was staring at herself in her mug, Mizuki spaced out and became lost in the memories of the past. All the happy things that had been turned sad after Nao left. Just as she felt like crying, Mizuki heard a familiar voice and looked up. There, before her eyes, stood her best friend with Leo and Nao. Mizuki's gaze however, fell on Nao right after she knew who he was with. He looked the same way as he always did whenever Mizuki saw him. The feeling that had been swirling in her stomach soon took her breath away and Mizuki had to look away. She continued drinking her soda and as she set down a half drank cup, the waiter came back with her ramen. Mizuki thanked him and broke apart the chopsticks. She kept her eyes on the noodles before her as she ate, not wanting them to find their way back to Nao. Despite what she wanted, her head was cluttered with memories and tears were now falling from her eyes into her noodles. Mizuki stopped eating and set down her chopsticks. As she leaned back, Mizuki stared at the ceiling hoping gravity would stop her tears. It didn't Tears fell faster from her eyes and streamed down her cheek. Kazumi put her hands to her face and let herself cry openly, without letting anyone hear her. That would only gain attention that she really didn't want. While she cried, Kazumi heard Nao's tone of voice and a few seconds later the bell that signaled when people come and go. He left the shop. The thought however, didn't stop the tears. Her mind, completely wrapped in negativity, then allowed Mizuki to realize full well the fact that Chiyo had ditched her and went out with those two. Anger and betrayal was added to the ball of negativity inside, which made the tears fall faster and Mizuki to ball her hands into fists. The world was so cruel. She hated it.

Shinji%20Ico%20Real_zps54r8obig.jpg

[June 22nd, Late Afternoon/ Ramen Shop]

The walk to the ramen shop was surprisingly short, and the walk went so quickly that Shinji nearly walked into Nao as he began to exit the store. It was a near thing, but Shinji managed to sidestep in time to see Ishida crying. There's the reason for his quick exit, Shinji thought. Wish I'd bumped into him though, for Ishida.

Shinji had no real feelings about the whole affair outside of that it was needlessly dramatic. Although, given how he was acting lately he'd allow it. One of these days, he was going to lock them in a room until they worked out their problems. For now, Ishida was crying into her ramen, and even if he wasn't feeling any better, he'd still help. He'd feel worse later if he didn't, that much he knew for sure.

However, he didn't really notice the other occupants of the restaurant when he'd walked in, otherwise he'd be trying to leave right then and there. The brief 'what if' scenario still went through Shinji's mind. What would Kane say? Would it be worse than what he'd already said? What if Robert figured out Shinji's secret?

He stood at the end of the table and said, "now the ramen is going to be too salty, Ishida." A fake smile to sell the joke and Shinji looked to see Robert lagging behind. "I am guessing Nao made you cry again? You two really need to talk things out before you end up crying into ramen again."

It was easy to pretend he was fine, Shinji realized. He just had to say the right things and smile like he used to and people wouldn't be aware of the truth. Thankfully, he used to smile very little except when it was with Toshi or his other close friends. 'Please', 'thank you', and polite language would keep the worst at bay for a while.

He still wished he'd kept his cool with Kane, though. Then maybe he wouldn't be as hurt as he was right now. Oh well, it was stupid mistake and what were the odds Kane was here as well?

"You can talk while I am waiting for Robert to catch up. He must have been distracted by some English thing while we were walking."

[June 22nd, Late Afternoon / Ramen Shop]

Robert was quite shocked at the ease with which he managed to convince Shinji. While Shinji was the type to cover up and hide his true feelings, his outburst left Robert at a loss of how to approach him. Taking the casual, 'act like nothing had happened' route may have been very British of him but it seemed to have some positive effect at least. He whipped his blazer over his back and began to walk out of the classroom, allowing Shinji to follow behind. The walk was short, but whether that was a result of the brisk pace they kept or of a short distance was unclear. The two were both so absorbed in their thoughts and idle conversation that neither of them noticed. While talking about the latest rhythm-beat game in the arcade was certainly a far cry from an emotional heart-to-heart it was enough for the two. At least that way, the problems seemed to be behind them in that horrible titan they called Hisakawa.

They weren't far from the Ramen shop when Robert eyed a poster and a display in the nearby convenience store window. Drifting off idly, he ogled the item for a time, impressed by the occurrence and the price. Making a mental note to return after their meal, Robert turned to see that Shinji was already long gone. He must be at the ramen shop already... he summarized. Heading in that direction, he saw Nao storming away from the shop, seemingly disturbed by something. Robert decided to discard it from his mind. Hopefully the lad's negative disposition wasn't a result of the food of which he and Shinji were about to hopefully enjoy. Pressing inside the store, he was greeted by the cool of the air conditioning and the pleasant jingle of the bell. There was an ambient hubbub of conversation, steaming kitchen utensils and chopsticks clattering against the ceramic bowls. That wasn't mentioning the chorus of that incessant slurping noise the Japanese made when eating Ramen. Ugh! While Robert recognised it wasn't rude in their culture and that the dish somewhat called for it, it was still something that went through him. Not in a million years would he dream of slurping his food back home. You'd be less of a social pariah if you killed someone. But... then again, where he was from it was still legal to shoot a Scotsman with a bow and arrow from the city walls - a fact he would have loved to exercise when he heard the unmistakable, boisterous din of Leo's voice. How did they get here? What kind of cruel joke is destiny (RNG) playing?

Once again, he chose to discard the thought. If he kept his distance, he and Shinji wouldn't have to interact with any of the others. Robert did feel somewhat guilty, however. The trip was intended to be an escape but instead it seemed their problems had already beaten them to their temporary sanctuary. He approached Shinji idly, not even noticing Ishida. "Sorry about that Shinji, the Family Mart is selling Yorkshire Tea for a limited time only. Real Yorkshire Tea!..." his sentence trailed off as he noticed Ishida's tear stained face and Shinji trying to comfort her. His face dropped from a look of elation to one of deep-seated concern. "Ishida-san... are you okay?" he asked, caringly. His voice was tender yet brittle. It seemed that nobody was having a good day today. Maybe this was the cause of Nao's exit...

[June 22nd, Afternoon / Town]

Beep .

Beep .

Katsumi Yukimura balanced herself with one hand against a tree as she let her simple cellphone vibrate . Maybe it'll stop if I keep running , she thought to herself before reluctantly taking her cellphone out . The brunette sighed in frustration as she clicked on various buttons to read the incoming message that she had received . Yes , Katsumi was not even close to being techno-savvy . She was closer to destroying her ancient phone , compared to retrieving her message . The brunette panted slightly as she recovered from the long run she was on . The stress was eating away at her and she needed away to get rid of it . What other better way than to run from it ? Literally .

'Hello , Kat . There is a new Ramen shop in town . I will meet you there in twenty minutes .'

Johann .

A tick mark of irritation appeared on her forehead as she closed her cellphone shut and slipped it back into her pocket . "As if...." , she mumbled to herself , and was about to continue her run in the opposite direction of the shop when the sound of her stomach rumbling was heard . Katsumi sighed before thinking to herself , "I'll get him to pay ." . After adjusting her sports bra and pants , she jogged her way to the Ramen shop .

"It's getting good business here ." , Katsumi mumbled to herself as multiple students from the First Year classes exited the shop .

The brunette then made her way inside of the shop , not bothered at the fact that the cold air was hitting her , as she was forgetful enough to not bring a small towel along with her . Katsumi's eyes then traveled to an empty table and she made her way there , realizing that there were a few faces nearby that she wasn't quite keen to see .

"I hope he didn't know about this ." , she mumbled before sending him a text .

'Arrived . Food's on you .' .

'Arrived . Food's on you .' .

Johann chuckled once before locking the screen of his smartphone . He then slipped the device back into his pocket . The blond was slightly surprised at the fact that his childhood friend had messaged him back . Knowing her , he had thought that she was cursing at the object halfway through the town . As he stepped in front of the Ramen shop , the noises of people interacting with each other , as well as the sound of woks clinging against the fire place , greeted him . Although it was louder than what he was used to , it somehow comforted him , knowing that there were many people out and about .

Just as he was about to enter , he felt a brush against his shoulder as Nao Morita made a hasty escape from who knows what . Johann merely shrugged before entering the shop . He immediately found his childhood friend seated at one of the tables that were closer to the kitchen . He laughed once again , at the sight of her staring blankly into space , deep in thought . The blond was about to join her when he realized that some of the students he knew from Hisakawa Koukou were in the shop , as well , and they were seated quite near to the table Katsumi was seated at .

"Hello there , Shinji ." , he greeted the male , wanting to avoid any contact with his enemy , Robert , as well as the emotional mess , Ishida Mizuki .

"Fancy meeting you here ." , Johann said before taking a seat next to the brunette female , slinging his arm yet again , around Katsumi's shoulder , not caring at the fact that she would reprimand him for doing so .

[June 22nd, Late Afternoon | Outside School | Ramen Shop]

The sound of a familiar voice made Kazumi jump in surprise. She quickly wiped her eyes, but it you could tell she'd been crying because of her puffy red eyes. As she lowered her hands, Kazumi saw it was Kobe and felt relieved. At least it was her best friend who was seeing her like this and not some stranger. Hearing his joke, she chuckled a little as she lowered her arms, revealing the red lines that ran down her cheeks where her tears had been falling. As he continued talking, Kazumi sighed sadly and shook her head. "It's fine. Besides, I don't think he wants to talk. I'm not gonna force him to do something he doesn't want to." She said while picking up her chopsticks. As Kazumi ate her noodles the proper way, without slurping, she repeated the words she'd been taught all those years ago. Hatred and sorrow are power; they are yours to control. All you have to do is turn them into strength, and use that strength to move forward. The words made Kazumi feel strong and after finishing her bite, Kazumi took a deep breath. Turn them into strength and use that strength to move forward. Do that and I will never lose. She told herself, making her confidence rise. So long as she blocked the images from her mind, she'd be okay. The world wouldn't - couldn't - get to her. A smirk appeared at the edge of Kazumi's lips and she sat up straight. Kazumi turned to Kobe as he spoke on, and she expected him to leave the shop to search for someone. She didn't want him to, cause she didn't want to talk to Nao, but Kazumi shoved those feelings down. Just as she was about to speak, the bell jingled and a moment later Robert was beside Kobe. I'm willing to bet Robert is the one Kobe was referring to. She thought to herself as she took another bite of her noodles. Robert spoke to Kobe, seeming to not have noticed her presence yet. If she wasn't use to it, she would've been hurt, but life's like that. She heard him trail off just as she swallowed her food and guessed he had noticed her. Turning to Robert as he asked if she was alright, Kazumi saw his worry. Putting on a small smile, Kazumi decided to show her courage and not her weakness. "I'm fine. Just had to let stuff out of my system. it's gone now so there's no need to worry." She replied, hoping it would make him feel better. "I promise I'll be fine." A white lie. Kazumi was never fine, never had been. But if she was to put her friends to ease, such lies were needed. "Take a seat. You must be hungry." Kazumi said, gesturing to the booth she sat in that was only occupied by herself. It'd be nice to have some company. Especially after one of her best friends ditched her to have fun with her ex and Leo. Kazumi quickly pushed down those negative things and called her waiter over so her friends could order.

Chiyo%20Ico%20Real_zpscbxdv0hl.jpg
~June 22nd, Late Afternoon / Ramen Shop~

"Sure~" Leo mumbled out, causing Chiyo to give him a big smile. A few moments later, there was a monster-sized bowl of Octopus-ramen in front of her, and it smelled delicious. Chiyo didn't butt in when Leo and Nao said somethings in English, she would rather not make a fool of herself Immediately after taking a seat, Chiyo put her hands together "Itadakimasu!" Grabbing her chopsticks, you could hear the click of a timer in the background,

Looking up at Chiyo with his mouthful of food, Leo began to speak, swallowing and continuing. "You see, if you run and exercise. You work up a mean appetite". "Or you could just do nothing and starve yourself until you work up an appetite far greater than you'd get from mere exercise." Nao turned to Chiyo. "Maybe we'll train you more gradually some other time. Only if you're willing, of course."

Chiyo didn't respond immediately, she was too focused on eating the tentacle sticking out of the side of her mouth. The advertisement was wayyy over-exaggerating this ramen, there weren't even any red peppers in it! If one were to look closely though, you could tell that Chiyo hated her lack of active-ness, even if just a little bit.

When Chiyo saw the look on Nao's face, she immediately knew that something was off. Following his gaze, her eyes finally landed on Mizuki. Nonononono, this is bad, she thought, swallowing and about to ask Nao if he was alright, when he dropped 2000 yen on the table. "This'll cover for some of Chiyo's food if she fails to finish. And, it would have made up for my food as well." Sighing, Nao stood up, and with a smile, said, "Thanks for the food, guys. I'll see you later. I have to go home now." Without waiting for a response, he turned on his heel and basically ran away.

Chiyo frowned, the salt from the ramen traveling up into the back of her eyes. Quickly blinking a few times to make sure she wasn't crying, the girl focused back onto Mizuki, who she then realized was actually crying recently, her eyes still red and puffy. An echo of sadness rippled through her, one of her best friends had just left, probably depressed, while another was just crying her eyes out a moment ago. If it weren't for the crowd of people currently surrounding the Mizuki, Chiyo would've gone over there straight away. Instead though, she just focused on her ramen, somehow managing to scarf the rest of it down before the timer went off.

Chiyo was sad, though it was more like a sad-mad aimed towards herself. She honestly had no idea how to help the situation between two of her best friends, it really hurt her to see both of them so...apart. Sighing, she stood up, "Thanks for hanging out Leo, I think I'll go home and blow some bubbles now before I make dinner, have a nice day." Not really waiting for a response, she turned to leave, quickly walking past Mizuki and her group without making eye contact. It wasn't like she was trying to hurt or ignore her best friend, she just didn't know what to say, or if any of it would even help her. [/fieldbox]

[June 22nd, Late Afternoon/ Ramen Shop]

Shinji had been joking when he said that Robert had been distracted by some English thing.

"Sorry about that Shinji, the Family Mart is selling Yorkshire Tea for a limited time only. Real Yorkshire Tea!..."

"I guess it's true about the English." Shinji mumbled.

Thankfully, Robert had caught on and asked Ishida what was wrong. Then Yuki arrived with Johann and before Shinji could react, Isihida spoke. She offered him a seat and food and before he could say that he didn't want to be around too many people right now, his stomach growled. Mutely he took his seat, his stomach doing the talking for him.

"So. Johann, Ishida, and Robert. Might as well all gather around the table..." Shinji said despite most of the others already being seated. "So, Johann. I haven't seen you around much lately. Get bogged down with the track team or something?"

Small talk was hard. He didn't want to talk, and more or less this whole excursion was just to silence Robert's concerns and now it was all just a huge group of people hanging out. Shinji just wanted to be alone and do homework before more drama happened. All he wanted was just to be in and out of the ramen shop, but apparently he was going to have to deal with Ishida -without Nao thank goodness- and Johann.

"If it makes you feel better, I'm pretty sure Nao was just as upset as you were...?" He left it hanging, just in case it was the wrong thing to say to Ishida. Honestly, the whole powder keg and event was annoying. If he actually could motivate himself to do something about it, he'd ask Nao the real reason he'd broken up with Ishida. "I nearly ran into him, he was so upset."

He wasn't sure how this group was going to react to each other, and if Johann and Katsumi were going to be all... couple-like. The details escaped Shinji right now, but honestly he just wanted to also be away from people being happy in a couple. Far, far away. That, apparently, wasn't going to be happening anytime soon.

The inclination to say something else to try and get the conversation was strong, but Shinji decided it would be best to let the others talk so Shinji could eat in peace and then go home quickly before more drama happened. His gut said that more would happen, because it just seemed to be that sort of day, but at the same time he knew that he'd started to drama earlier and high schoolers were inherently creatures of drama. He was tired and just wanted to go home.

Before he said something he'd regret, even if for once he'd stop being a hypocrite.

[June 22nd, Late-Afternoon / Hisakawa Academy, Main School Building, Classroom]

"Want to go grab something to eat before we go home?"

"Hibiki-nee...?"

Hearing her sister's request, Yuri was able to snap out of her daze. It was a little surprising actually, having her sister talk to her. They certainly did see each other pretty much every day at home. It was just that once they came into the school grounds, a whole new setting and set of rules applied. Nonetheless, Yuri was immediately appreciative of the Hibiki's reaching out to her.

It wasn't normal for Hibiki to reach out to her like this. Granted, it was pretty well established that they both had their own things to attend to after school. But it was at this moment that Yuri's dear sister was able to come through for her.

"Sure! In fact, I know this place that just opened.... We should give that one a try!"

Spirits lifted, Yuri could easily let go of her troubles with Hibiki around.

She didn't have to 'act' like anyone but herself around her.

[Later...]
[June 22nd, Late-Afternoon / Street, Near the Ramen Shop]

"...And that's why we should probably consider having some kind of intervention meeting in regards to Mizuki's night-time issues. There's no telling if she'll let herself out of the house and cause a scene with the neighbors next time."

Walking from school, Yuri and her sister idly chatted on topics moving away from school. It was a refreshing change from all the business and preparation talk from the weeks leading up to the culture festival.

"Oh, Hiniki-nee! It's right over ...there?"

The walk to this particular food establishment was stopped in it's tracks, at Yuri's braked foot-age.

"Isn't that pretty much everyone we know in class?" Yuri said with hesitation. "I'm pretty sure that was Nii-san and Yukimura-san who just walked in there. And it looks like..."

Ishima, Shinji, Robert, Kane, and Nao just walking out. The list of familiar faces went on. It seemed like everyone was conveniently congregating in a singular place.

Though, at this particular moment, Yuri was hesitant to go there. She glanced at her sister, shyly speaking:

"I, kind of don't want to feel like I'm stepping back into the classroom again. It sort of feels like that's what's going to happen the moment I walk in there. Still, ah..."

I really want to try this place out! I've been looking forward to it!

The words that Yuri had in her heart were refusing to vocalize.

Going in, and potentially getting noticed - after the things that have gone on today.

It was simply Yuri's policy to keep people involved in her school life out of her personal life. Things were simply easier that way.

"Let's see, ahh.... I just realized I should probably show up to work a little early today sis! I'd over to eat ramen with you and Nii-san but... Well, work calls I guess?"

She ended her sentence in a bit of a defeated note. Self disappointment.

Not on board with going to a place with all their classmates, Yuri looked like she was dismissing herself with a shallow excuse. Harisson and Ishida were all there at the Ramen place, however. Was it best Hibiki to leave Yuri to her own devices, for now?

[June 22nd, Late Afternoon / Ramenya]

Robert felt his hands ball into tight fists at the sound of Johann's voice. How eloquent and deep his voice was, how full of confidence - the bloody stuck up toff. Robert knew little of Johann's time in the UK but he could only imagine he was from somewhere in the south of England. Moving with Shinji to take a seat in the booth in which Mizuki was sat, Robert rested his blazer beside himself and made a pass around the room with his eyes trying to search out a waitress/waiter for him to hail. Robert's perception stats were clearly low as Mizuki pressed the bell provided on the table to signal the waiting staff.

"I guess I'm still not used to the Japanese way of doing things..." Robert chuckled, scratching his head awkwardly. The waiter was polite and courteous, explaining a few of the more popular dishes. Still, despite feeling awful for it, Robert couldn't look at him. Behind him, on the next table over, all Robert could see was Katsumi and Johann - Johann's arm draped over her shoulder. That bastard. Johann knew exactly what he was doing, he knew full-well about the break-up all those months ago. How bold and egotistical - as if he didn't already have two other girls on the go. It was a good job that Chiyo had left before she could see him.

Robert brusquely accepted the menu from the waiter, a quick nod of the head and 'arigatou' the only thing he could manage as the pit of his stomach swirled. He felt as if he might be sick if he looked in that direction anymore. Even worse, this whole tension was even more to the contrary of what he intended this trip to be. Anytime he tried to do something right or nice, it never seemed to go well. Maybe he was still being punished for everything. Maybe him attending classes more often, going out of his dorm and interacting, trying to build relationships... maybe it was all just the buildup to another massive event - another event that would destroy his life and destroy everything he'd tried to achieve. After all, it's hard trying to climb to the top of a ladder to escape when someone from the top keeps kicking it down.

Resorting to focus on the menu and the events on his table, he cast his eyes over the menu. "I'm not feeling like anything fancy," he spoke idly to Mizuki and Shinji, trying to strike up some level of conversation. "I think I'll just stick to Tonkotsu Ramen." He smiled and closed the menu. His eyebrows raised all of a sudden. If this was some sort of cheesy animation he might have even had a light bulb appear above his head as an idea struck him. "Ishida-san, myself and Shinji have discounted meals, so I'd be happy to pay for your meal," he offered with a warm smile. "Call it my 'feel better soon' present." He gave an innocent chuckle as he cocked his head to the side slightly. It was a gesture that seemed to come out of nowhere and normally he wouldn't be so generous to people other than Gyo or Shinji. After all, he and Mizuki got along but they were hardly close. Still, he knew how she felt and it wasn't nice. He was even feeling in a similar way now thanks to Johann. However, even if his life was never going to amount to anything, even if all of his happiness would burn before him and all of his relationships turn sour, he wasn't going to let it just happen. Like Shinji had said, it was time he started making life better for himself; become closer friends with Mizuki might be a nice start to that. It also helped that he'd just received a hefty sum of money from his inheritance so yen wasn't something he was too sad to splash out with.

[June 22nd, Late Afternoon / Ramen Shop]

"Maybe we'll train you more gradually some other time. Only if you're willing, of course." Leo nodded his head enthusiastically, "And then we can have training montages, and by the end of it. We'll we athletic gods" Leo took another mouthful of his meal, "Not that I'm not already" He joked through the food in his mouth.

When he looked back at Nao, Leo saw the look he had on his face. Leo snapped his head back and sure enough there stood Mizuki. Frowning slightly, Leo focused on her for a moment. Was she sobbing? It came to no surprise when Leo looked back Nao was already standing up.

"This'll cover for some of Chiyo's food if she fails to finish. And, it would have made up for my food as well. Thanks for the food, guys. I'll see you later. I have to go home now." Leo peered at him curiously as Nao turned around and walked off.

What a mess

Looking at Chiyo destroying the challenge, Leo grinned and cheered her on. When she had finished, Leo raised his hands in the air. "The myth, the legend, The unstoppable machine! CHIYO IMAAADAA!" Leo smile widened. "I think I just made a profit!"

"Thanks for hanging out Leo, I think I'll go home and blow some bubbles now before I make dinner, have a nice day." Leo nodded. "See you!" Smiling until Chiyo left. His face suddenly drooped into a grimace.

He stared at the group of students that had accumulated around Mizuki, a little posse, all trying to comfort Mizuki. Poor old Mizuki, Leo thought, What shame she can't get over herself.

He stood up (With a little bit of effort, his belly full of delicious food.) His eyes glanced over to Kitsumi and Johann. Going for a hatrick huh? He mused. Shinji and Robert, he wondered what would happen if he went over there. Perhaps Shinji would actually start crying, follow the trend of that group. Now that would be funny.

He took a step forwards, but noticed two certain people standing outside. Everyone in the universe, it seemed, was focusing into this shop. Looking between the two groups, Leo frowned. He could of just had a nice day out with his friends.

But everyone has to be a sad little bastard now-a-days it seems.

Walking, rather quick out towards Yuri and Hibiki, Leo raised his finger, point at the duo. "Yo, you two" He stopped, looking at the two with mild distaste. "Mizuki may be having a slight breakdown about how no one loves her, you two should comfort her-" Leo mouth twisted into a smirk. "As her sisters, or something along those lines." His eyes dashed between the two. "Well, whichever of you actually likes her. Can't ever remember which is which. Just both go in, stop her sobbing and making people uncomfortable. You know how it is." His eyes looked towards Yuri.

"And I'm not talking School Yuri. She probably needs human Yuri, if there is such a thing. You know, talk like people actually talk. Act like a general human being, at minimum. However hard that is for you. These-" Leo clasped his hands together. "Personal problems"

Hibiki%20Ico%20Real_zpsgwtcl5ja.jpg

[June 22nd, Afternoon / Hisakawa Academy, Main School building, Classroom 2-A]
Hibiki felt a smile pull at her lips as her sister turned around to face her, excitement soon lighting up her face. Hibiki liked it when she could help her siblings lighten up a bit, and forget about the other things around her. Smiling, Hibiki let her excited sibling lead her out of the school and towards the intended destination.

~~~~~~~~~~~
[June 22nd, Afternoon/ Street Near the Ramen Shop]
Hibiki was having quite the lovely stroll through the shopping districts with her sibling, her hands shoved in her pockets as she walked along with her. Chuckling at the last part of her statement, Hibiki nodded. "It's not good to make enemies of the neighbors, but we have to be careful that we aren't too harsh. Setting her off would make it worse." Hibiki said softly as they approached the ramen shop. She could see classmates coming out as Yuri stopped in her tracks, her face falling as she realized that it would basically be walking back into the classroom full of people.
And then she pulled some sort of lie that she needed to go to work, and that it might be best if she went ahead. Turning to her sister, Hibiki's face fell slightly and she moved one of her hands on top of her head, patting her hair slightly. "Don't push yourself too much. It's fine, we can go somewhere else." She said, looking at her sister. She hated seeing Yuri upset, it made her feel like she did a horrible job of being a sister to her.
"If you really want to go to work early, I will walk you there and go home. It's no fun to be out to ramen alone." She said with a soft smile, before a student walked out and looked at the two of them, causing her head to raise towards him. It was Leo. Narrowing her eyes, Hibiki could feel her fist clenching as he continued to spew crap from his mouth.
Feeling the hairs on the back of her neck rise, Hibiki gave one last pat to her sisters head before walking towards the kid. She was trying to keep her aggressive nature down and avoid just socking him in the face again, but she couldn't just sit there and let him insult her siblings. Walking forwards, she got real close to this guys face, her glare set strait on his eyes. "Listen you little punk, you can call me whatever you want, but as soon as you start calling out my siblings, that is where you cross a line. Now if you want to be the little bitch that you are, keep talking and you will have another fist in your face. If you have any common sense, you will back away now and apologize, and then maybe I will show you a little more leniency next time. It's time you grow up, and be glad I am giving you a choice this time." She said, thinking of her older self who would have proceeded to just beat the shit out of him.
[June 22nd, Late Afternoon | Outside School | Ramen Shop]
As Mizuki watched her friends take a seat, she noticed Chiyo walk past her at a somewhat quick pace. Mizuki was about to call out to her, but Chiyo was gone. Betrayal stabbed Mizuki hard in the chest and she had to swallow hard to keep that down. Once the pain of it passed, anger flared and Mizuki clenched her jaw. What the hell was that Chiyo?! If you don't like me anymore just say it! Mizuki thought to herself. Hearing Shinji, Mizuki calmed herself and turned her attention to him. "If it makes you feel better, I'm pretty sure Nao was just as upset as you were...?" The words made Mizuki wonder if he really was just as upset as she was. She thought back to the past weeks when he distanced himself from her then just dumped her. The memory had her believing what Shinji said was damn lie. She allowed him to finish before turning to face him, eye to eye. "I don't know about that. He was the one that left me in the dark, not the other way around." She told him, before turning to her Ramen. Mizuki ate a few mouthfuls before she heard Robert as he decided he would pay for their meals. Mizuki looked up ate him after swallowing and smiled. "Thanks, Robert. That's really nice of you." She said, feeling happy to be around those two. She knew Shinji didn't really care about drama yet he was still there, helping her get through it and while she wasn't close to Robert, he was still willing to pay for the food out of kindness. The thoughts swirled in her head then found their way to her heart, which made her smile happily. Suddenly, Mizuki felt a darker presence and looked up to see Leo looking at her with disgust. She glared at him, daring him to come over, yet he didn't. Instead, he walked outside. Mizuki knew better than to think she won, so she instead turned to her friends. "Are you two doing something after this? I think it'd be nice to get out and do something we all enjoy." Mizuki wanted to get out and do something with friends. Do something fun that would leave the pain in the past and end this day on a high note. Then again, she didn't want to waste their time and would be just as fine if they didn't want to. She wasn't going to push them.
[June 22nd, Late Afternoon/ Ramen Shop]
Well, so far Robert hadn't managed to punch Johann, which was a minor victory considering the fact that Shinji saw Robert ball his fists at Johann's arm being draped around Katsumi.
Which he remembered was Robert's ex, and now Shinji was desperately hoping that wasn't Kane he'd heard speaking earlier. The last thing he wanted was to be here, but the worst possible situation would entail this powder keg of delicate relations blowing up. Things would have been better if Shinji had just gone home instead of rolling over and if Johann had picked somewhere else to be.
Ishida pulled a face at his comment, too. Which would mean that she didn't believe him and the whole situation was... infuriating. Literally, Shinji tried to move out of the way, but if he hadn't done anything, the two boys would have collided.
Finally, Robert said what he was going to order and Shinji just hoped it'd be better as the situation developed. "I'll have the same, Robert. I'm not in the mood for anything super fancy either." Plus, Shinji didn't want to get anything expensive because he didn't want to be rude.
Then Ishida asked if he was doing anything after this. Shinji considered his options. Say no, wallow in self-pity and heart break, or continue to remain around the powder keg that was this group. Both weren't appealing, but at least playing video games you could go back before you put your foot in your mouth and fix it.
This... this was tense and Shinji hated it. All he wanted was ramen. Not ramen and drama. Maybe a joke would lighten the situation, but Shinji knew for a fact that he wasn't good at jokes. Still, he'd rather it be awkward because of the joke and not because of the history between most of the occupants of the table.
"If you want I could punch Nao later? Apparently today I'm very... punchy?" Shinji said. "I punched Leo today so punching his wanna-be is a step down, really."
Time Shift!
[Late-Afternoon --> Early-Evening]
[fieldbox= Nozomi Yuri, plum, solid]
Yuri%20Ico1_zpsfui4oskj.jpg
[June 22nd, Early-Evening / Street, Near the Ramen Shop]
"Don't push yourself too much. It's fine, we can go somewhere else."
Of course, Hibiki saw right through her. It would've probably been obvious to anybody that all of this was stemming from her anxiety carried over from class today.
"If you really want to go to work early, I will walk you there and go home. It's no fun to be out to ramen alone."
The white haired girl shifted uncomfortably where she stood. The truth was that she didn't have a shift today. Going to 'work' in this situation was just an excuse. She would've gone and ended up with her shift being 'cancelled' when she appeared at home later on. Moreover, it was important - majorly important, that she keep her actual job secret from the Hibiki and the rest of the family.
If they ever found out, it would probably end up with Harisson giving her the lecture about proper morals in regards to the opposite sex.
At the moment, though, it was just a little difficult for Yuri to come up with a proper response, with Hibiki being so accommodating. It certainly wasn't a normal thing for her to do, as far as Yuri could remember.
It was at that time that Leo paraded out of the Ramen shop. He approached the two sisters immediately, informing them that Ishida was making a scene in the establishment.
"Mizuki may be having a slight breakdown about how no one loves her, you two should comfort her- As her sisters, or something along those lines."
More or less right on the lines of what the two sisters had been talking about as they arrived.
"Well, whichever of you actually likes her. Can't ever remember which is which. Just both go in, stop her sobbing and making people uncomfortable. You know how it is."
After saying that, the boy's eyes focused towards Yuri.
"And I'm not talking School Yuri. She probably needs human Yuri, if there is such a thing. You know, talk like people actually talk. Act like a general human being, at minimum. However hard that is for you. These- 'Personal problems'"
As always, Leo managed to say things with a liberal dose of disrespect towards his audience. It was certainly true that they had to go in and check on Mizuki - if her so-called 'breakdown,' as Leo put it, was actually happening. But, when it came to family matters, things were dealt with on a different playing field. In Yuri's case, she knew very well that Mizuki didn't like her all that much. It was for that reason that Yuri usually did her best to avoid her outright, keeping out of her way.
The only person in the family that Mizuki would actually listen to was Hibiki.
With that in mind, Yuri turned towards her sister once more. Catching Hibiki just as she walked past her, moving forward to confront Leo.
"Listen you little punk, you can call me whatever you want, but as soon as you start calling out my siblings, that is where you cross a line. Now if you want to be the little bitch that you are, keep talking and you will have another fist in your face. If you have any common sense, you will back away now and apologize, and then maybe I will show you a little more leniency next time. It's time you grow up, and be glad I am giving you a choice this time.
"Hibiki-nee..."
It was the same.
The same sister Yuri was always standing behind as a child.
Before Middle School, Before the first friends Yuri Made, before Harisson had became a part of the family. Yuri thought that the only person she needed in the world was her sister. This comforting feeling, and the small urge to hide behind her sister's back made Yuri realize that there were still old parts of herself that never went away.
If things had never changed back then, then maybe Yuri would still be frightened little girl shyly looking from the safety of being behind Hibiki's arm.
But Yuri couldn't let herself go back to being like that.
"Nee-san, at the very least, we should go check on Ishida-nee-san if she's there, right? Lets go see her."
Yuri impored Hibiki to follow after her as she wordlessly passed by Leo.
[June 22nd, Early-Evening / Ramen Shop]
"...I punched Leo today so punching his wanna-be is a step down, really."
Yuri's footsteps approached Shinji and Company with just the perfect timing to be of great surprise when one of the instinctively glanced to see who was walking towards them.
"Excuse me..." Yuri said, walking up to their table. "Nee-san, I heard from Kane-san that..."
You were causing a scene in the restaurant.
Of course, after getting a look at her sister, it looked like that wasn't much of an issue anymore. So it seemed like going into the restaurant had become more or less... pointless at this point.
"...Kane-san just caught us outside, and implored us to go and see you since you were here."
Hoping that Hibiki would at this moment step in and continue for her, Yuri's eyes wandered off to the side as she spoke. She was not comfortable with talking to Ishida. When they crossed over Shinji, however, it made Yuri realize what she heard him say as she approached him.
She had dismissed it initially since her focus was on getting to her sister. But as it sunk in, Yuri was having trouble processing it. Did Shinji just say something that sounded like something from a sort Delinquent Character?
Her attention focused back to her bespectacled mentor.
"Shinji-kun...you said that you, punched Kane?"
Yuri's tone wasn't one of shock nor one of accusation. Rather, she was confused.
As she thought about all the times she had seen Kane today, Yuri began to realize there was something peculiar about how Kane seemed to be perpetually blushing on only one side of his cheek for some reason today.
[June 22nd, Afternoon / Ramen shop]
Admittedly , even though the female brunette was more 'Japanese' compared to the blond male , Katsumi didn't know which set to take . The menu was diverse in the flavors of Ramen , but it was far too complicated for her taste . "What do you suggest ?" , she asked the waiter with a small smile , obviously slightly embarrassed .
He didn't give much to it but merely pointed at a picture of a bowl of noodles , with the tip of his pencil , "Miso ramen is very popular ." .
She nodded before replying , "I'll have one and a glass of iced green tea ." . Katsumi Yukimura then placed her menu by the side of the table before giving the blond male a glare . Katsumi knew that Johann Harrison was touchy , and she meant a lot . But , he was mostly harmless and she didn't give much thought to it . Until she saw another blond . With his friends .
Robert...
"Did you know he was going to be here ?" , the brunette asked in a low voice , as she grabbed his arm away from her shoulder and gripped his hand , tightly .
Katsumi had to admit that she didn't know how to feel about the presence of Robert West . One would say that their break up was sudden but necessary . After the whole incident , she didn't feel like she could trust someone as much as she did with the British man .
[June 22th , Afternoon / The Ramen Shop]
"So, Johann. I haven't seen you around much lately. Get bogged down with the track team or something?"
The Russian-Englishman turned his attention from the food menu towards his other childhood friend . Johann had to admit , he had been quite busy lately . With what exactly ? The Social Morals club had their own affair he had to take care of . The swim team was on a break , but soon , he heard , they would start training again . To be honest , the blond was mostly busy attending long-promised games and matches . Yes , in which almost all were female players . But he could not exactly say that , now could he ?
"Far worse actually . The Social Moral club is not becoming easier and the swim team needs more practice for regionals , apparently ." , Johann eyed the person in which he had slung his arm over before asking , "What of yourself ? How are you these days , Shinji ?" .
He knew the answer to that question , but he was hoping that Shinji was getting better from the Toshi fiasco .
"Did you know he was going to be here ?" , Katsumi's voice entered his head and he looked to find that she was gripping his hand . Johann was puzzled when he realized that the brunette had silently gestured to her ex-lover .
"What ever gave you that idea , my dear ?" , he purposely stressed the last phrase out , wanting to see whether the other Englishman was fazed by it . Ever since their break up , Johann had another reason to disapprove of the male . Johann knew that regardless where or who they were with , Katsumi would give him a piece of her mind because of the act , but it was not as if he had not seen the worse parts of her .
Johann responded, and Shinji nodded and was about to answer when Yuri entered and his joke possibly had been heard by Yuri. Which would not have gone over well with her. There was a hope that she didn't, but she apparently did.
"Shinji-kun...you said that you, punched Kane?"
It wasn't accusatory, but at the same time... he literally couldn't tell her the reason why, because it partially involved Toshi and that was yet another powder keg that Shinji didn't want to deal with. He just wanted ramen, dammit. He struggled to explain the reasoning for his punching Leo to Yuri, the Social MORALS officer.
"Yes. He uh, was being himself and I've been si-"
"Sakura no hana wa itsu kuchiru..." Shinji quickly grabbed his phone and answered it, blushing at the fact he'd forgotten to put it on vibrate.
"Sorry, I lost track of time. Yes, I'll be home before nightfall. No, I'm just- I'm leaving now don't-" Shinji sighed. "Mom. I'm not doing- Okay I'm going now, see you. Don't-" He hung up.
His mother was always high strung, but she was an excellent excuse to leave before things got worse.
"That was my mother. As you can probably tell she's about ready to call the police to find me. I should go before she does that. I'm sorry I can't stay." Shinji said, standing up from the table. "Also, Yuri, don't you have work? I'd be glad to walk with you."
It would also give him space to explain that wasn't in front of everyone from school and also it would be nice to flee from the current group before things were worse.
