The last of the violins song faded into the wind and the night returned to its previous state. At the front of the train near the chimney a shadow deepened and then swirled as bright orange eyes came into view followed by a grey form that seemed to be as transparent as the smoke billowing out from the trains depths. The night was a dark, cold one to be sure. The kind that reminded Alexandria of the depths of the shadows she chose to spend her time in. A small smile curled her lips and she shifted into a seated position, legs folded up towards her chin, to stare up at the glittering stars high above. A hum vibrated from her throat.
It had been a good show tonight. The turn out was decent, no injuries were incurred during the acts, and no one had been foolish enough to venture passed the curtains into 'forbidden zones'. Of course there was always the adventurous tweens and teens that had attempted to prove their mettle by sneaking inside to see the show but those were dealt with easily enough. A few minutes of time-out shadow style left them disorientated enough for her to escort them out of the tent and the smart ones didn't come back. There had only been smart ones today.
A breeze tugged at her charcoal hair and it pulled free from the clip she had been keeping it in.
'I've heard that if you jump off of a tall enough cliff you'll die due to suffocation before you hit the bottom.' She mused, flexing her bare toes against the cold metal of the train. Absently, she wondered if it held any truth in it. The wind was quite powerful, and when she stuck her head out directly into its path while the train was moving she did experience a sense of not being able to catch her breath. 'Well, it is interesting enough to try some day.'
With a final glance at the sky, she gave the moon a little wave before the shadows seemed to crawl across her form and she spun out of existence. Farther down the train, in one of the hallways, a slender shadow in a corner darkened and out stepped the girl once more. Once free of the shadow her skin colored and her eyes reverted back to their original inky black. She blinked, and cast a glance around. Not a soul in the vicinity it seemed. That was for the best, some of the troupe wasn't altogether comfortable with her comings and goings anyways. Alexandria lifted a hand to straighten out her green and gold vest top that was cropped just below her ribcage and then gave a careless brush to the black capris at her waist. Apparently, she was prone to getting soot and dirt everywhere after she came back from outside. She still didn't see what the big deal was. Her gaze roved over her form halfheartedly before she deemed herself suitable and she strode off down the hall in search of food, every shadow she passed through greying her skin and causing her eyes to glow.
