Liz looked around as they drove, fascinated by this new city.

Mack soon approached Ken's house which was a simple apartment complex that he owned. He cleaned up an apartment for him and Liz. to stay in free of charge or until Mack could find a job but it was free for the time being and it had all the necessities: a shower, a kitchen, a bed that fits two and free cable and internet access.

"An apartment? I've never lived in one of those." Liz said, her voice full of curiosity and wonder.

Mack smield then pulled up and parked, yawning loudly then grabbed his backpack form the car and headed up to the room which was already unlocked for them. He walked in and headed for the bedroom and immediately crashed on the bed.

Liz smiled as she took the blanket from the car and draped it over Mack. She then put her own backpack down and started to explore the small apartment.

There wasn't much but there was plenty of space for them both although there was only bathroom, one bedroom and two closets: one in the hall and one in the bedroom.

Liz checked out the kitchen and started putting the food they had taken away.

Liz finished putting the food away and crawled into the bed. She snuggled up next to her brother, her stuffed animal in between the two.

Mack continued to sleep, getting the much needed rest he deserved since leaving their past lives behind them.

Liz curled up behind him, finally feeling safe and drifted off to sleep.

Mack woke up the next day then sat up. He felt warmer than usual then looked at the body next to him to see that Liz had cuddled up next to him. He smiled then rubbed her head and moved some of the hair from her face.

Liz was holding onto her stuffed animal for dear life as she slept. She looked peaceful in her sleep, like nothing could taint her innocence.

Mack smiled as she slept the kissed her forehead and slowly got out of bed and made his way to the kitchen to get something to eat.

As soon as Mack got off of the bed, Liz woke up. Holding her stuffed dog like a small child would, she walked to the kitchen.

Mack began to make some eggs and bacon since the fridge had a bit of stocked up food. Combined with the food they brought meant that they'd have enough food to last them a good while. He looks up and sees Liz then smiles as she walks in. "Morning"

"Morning..." Liz said, rubbing her eyes.

"Did you sleep well Liz?" he asked, the smell of bacon wafting in the air and the sound of the bacon popping filling the room.

"Mmhmm. I didn't have too bad of nightmares." Liz said, sitting down at the table. She smiled at the smell of bacon.

"That's good to hear. I hope you're hungry." he says then places a plate of bacon, eggs and toast in front of her.
