Grant Kazaki/Rei Amane
Manhattan Area, City Streets to Central Park
November 17, 2020
"Fuck... Well, that was a bust," Murmured Grant, exiting a disheveled apartment room.
He originally had planned to meet a friend, though with the current circumstances, now he just wanted to make sure they were okay, an unlikely outcome. Then again, he didn't note their shambling "corpse" to be wandering around, so that may be a good sign. Grant considered giving him a call, but on second thought, if the bastard couldn't mute his phone during his classes, it was unlikely it was muted now. Better to just hope to run into him, if he is still "himself".
Sighing after coming to that conclusion, Grant shoved his phone into his pocket, and looked outward on the "zombies" still stumbling around the apartment complex from the second floor apartment. If anyone he still knew in the city was still kicking, they were probably gone from their homes, schools or places of work, so there wasn't much point bypassing all these things to go looking for them in places they most likely have moved on from. Not to mention it had taken him practically two damn hours to get to the apartments unscathed. For now, it was best he go looking for some place safe, or at least safe-ish.
"Well... I guess I should go grab some stuff to keep me going..."
If he recalled right, there was a small general store over by the park; one of those privately owned shops that actually managed to survive not getting bought out or put out of business by the bigger corporations. It was probably a good place to go check out, likely anyone that thought of getting supplies would go to a safeway or something, so he shouldn't have to worry about running into anyone. Now if only he could just walk out of this place, but looking down at the moaning creations of those orbs, he was quickly reminded of why that was a poor course of action.
"Fine then... up to the roof, then I'll climb down the back..." Thankfully, most of the shambling buffoons had either fallen off the railing or were locked in the rooms in which they were turned, so he wouldn't have to worry about much as long as he moved on high ground.
That thought wouldn't last for long, though. as ex-College student traveled closer to his target destination, he began hearing gunshots. Grant was no gun-nut, but the blasts didn't sound like they came from any small caliber gun either. Maybe a sniper rifle? Regardless, he needed supplies from a place that wasn't already looted, and even if there was a marksman posted in the area, he'd know where not to go by all the dead bodies, or so he figured.
And figure right he did. Grant stayed posted in a shop a few blocks down from both his destination and the park, and sure enough there were corpses a-plenty littering the street that lead to either. What was more concerning were that the corpses of people were there too. Well, people who weren't "changed". Regardless, obviously this sniper didn't care if the things in her scope meant her ill will or not, so it was best that he avoid them. Then again—could he really just leave it like this? He could easily enough go around, get to the shop, then leave, but what about anyone else? Would this sniper just shoot anything they saw? In this kind of situation, most would probably agree that it's best to look after yourself, and they're likely right but—He just couldn't. Blame it on that hero complex of his, but Grant wouldn't walk away. Besides, he might need a gun later down the line, might as well help some people out and secure some extra firepower at the same time.
~~~
With a sigh Rei stares down her sight, so far there were 12 bodies in this crossing area, some were zombies, some were normal people. Regardless one should have figured this was a pretty goddamn obvious do not trespass sign by the time of the fifth body. But some people never seemed to get the message.
Not that she wanted to kill them all. The Zombies as she thought of them, there wasn't much helping that, the normal humans however..after the events of this day, and even that security guard trying to kill her; Well Rei was past taking chances. If they couldn't understand, then in a way killing them like this was helping them..though at this rate it wouldn't be long till maybe she herself was hunted..
Noticing slight movement from the self made kill-zone, her little observation tower in Central park gave a good overview of the surrounding area, though the taller building in the distance easily dwarfed this structure. If she had to guess it was a fire-watch post for the park services, but it was lacking in some basic supplies and comforts. Regardless it suited her needs for now, it would be difficult for a person to simply march up the entry ramp, it had overhead cover, and short of some taller trees, it was the tallest thing on this side of the street. It was for all intents and purposes safe for a short stay.
"..another person that can t read the signs hmm.." Allowing her vision to zero in, whoever or whatever it was, he or she was being exceptionally careful in facing the sniper. Though this was an unwelcome distraction...she had other issues to deal with after all. Using her upper and middle left arms, the Sniper rifle peers over the observation port, waiting ever so still.
~~~
Now that Grant had decided to do something about the sniper, there was just the act of actually doing something. From this kill-zone, they were probably somewhere in the park or a tall building behind it, and since there were likely to be a lot of these monsters in one of those large office buildings, a tall, secluded place in the park was a better choice; probably one of the fire-watch towers. If that was true, then going around and approaching it through the trees was probably better.
Making his way outside the store, if he booked it from his side of the street to the other, and didn't get blasted, it'd take a lot less time to go around, enter the park and come up on the tower through the greenery. Sighing, Grant readied himself and prepared for the sprint. There was no way this sniper was good enough to hit him before he made it across the street. He'd definitely make it—and then kick their ass thoroughly for the trouble. Not hesitating anymore on the matter, he pushed his feet of the ground shot into a sprint across the clearing of buildings.
~~~
Like a moth to flame, Rei is drawn to the movement to her flank. Turning her rifle to bare on the source, the Russian eyes the target down.
"..Male..Teens..late..Heterochromia..hmm.. Bleached..something metallic.." Without the slightest hesitation Rei prepares to fire though be it a muscle twitch, a desire to deter, or maybe as he reminded her of Sasha a delay is caused. Firing the SVD the 7.62x54 round flies towards the youth. Missing by scant inches ahead of him. As the semi-auto system cycles chambering a new round, Rei wished she had a real sniper rifle and not this DMR style weapon. It wasn't accurate enough.
Aiming for the next shot Rei scoffs a bit as a Zombie came from behind the boy, with another group not so far behind. Prioritizing them as more dangerous, the next shot speeds close enough Rei wagered the boy would lose his nerve, if not feel the heat as it slams into the skull of the first spotted creature. Correcting aim for the group in behind, perhaps he would have the wisdom to just flank her and keep going to wherever he was going..if he wanted to be foolish.. well the Spetsnaz would have to deal with him then.
~~~
Well, he cleared the street. That was a good sign, though the bastard still shot at him. If they weren't a crappy shot, he might've been hit. They still tried though, and Grant was going to clobber them for it. Now it was just a matter of getting through the idiot "things". It's not like they were focused on him, what with the gunshots and all. Thankfully, their trigger-happy antics seemed to have drawn a bit of a crowd, meaning she would be occupied, and so would they. All he had to do was move quickly and quietly.
Upon reaching the park via the alleys and side streets of the buildings, it was emptier than the city. Grant guessed that those things went where the people were, not too many of which were in the park likely. Well, except for the damn sniper who would be bringing them back. He would have to be quick about it.
Moving through the brush, he had a rough idea of where the tower was, and even if he didn't, all he had to do was follow the gunshots.
"Yeah... keep firing... I'm gonna beat your ass for blasting at me." They probably were feeling smug with themselves, thinking they scared him off. Unfortunately, this "kid" that didn't look like he could even handle a normal school bully at first glance knew how to take someone down in a fist fight. He also hadn't been afraid of anything in a long time; that was the old him. This "new" him honestly didn't give a fuck.
Finding the tower, Grant didn't see the marksman posted in his direction, but he heard the gunfire and saw the tower illuminate slightly after each boom of the gun; it was definitely the right place. Carefully treading up the staircase leading to the top, he began to see the figure of a person. At this point, he was scowling and plenty tired of the sound of a large caliber rifle going off every minute.
~~~
Slapping in a fresh magazine, this boy, or perhaps man had a lot of nerve, or a little of sense. With a brief lull in the fighting, or maybe even a longer termed one, Rei hears the creaking of boards, though it wasn't as loud as it could be, partly on her own account. Though this situation was most curious, still keeping watch ahead with her back towards the entry, sprawled out to take advantage of the position her rear-end was somewhat propped up while her front leans on the railing, almost as if playing pool. From this angle he likely wouldn't notice the fact she had more than two arms, until it was far too late.
With her left arms remaining stationary Rei uses two of her right arms to secure one of her handguns pulling the slide. Curiously she was unable to as of yet to use more than any two of the arms at the same time. Much like a person in physical rehab she needed time and tasks to make use of all six limbs..of course he didn't know that, whoever he was. So she waited, with one hand on a pistol, and her normal right braced on the frame, with the normal left holding the rifle in position.
~~~
There they were, not even caring about the possibility of someone coming from behind. Didn't matter to him, it just made it all easier. All the damn gunfire had given him quite the headache by this point and he was going to make sure this chick felt it...
...Wait, chick? Looking at the figure more closely by their shape and—"assets" that it was a woman. Well, that might make things even easier. It wasn't as if women were useless or anything but, head to head, he'd easily be able to take one, especially by surprise. Still, the unfortunate luck he had to have been shot at by a pretty nice girl. Well, she was pretty well cloaked, but she had a nice ass at least, leading to a whistle before and attempt to close the distance. The whistle was, in part, a signal to panic her and catch her off guard, and in the other part just a compliment to her looks—he was still going to deck her for shooting at him though.
~~~
Turning around slowly with the poncho concealing her lower most arms the upper human most pair remain where they can easily be seen. Now was the time to see if he was brave or a fool. Looking him up slowly from head to toe, he seemed the brave bit, but the fact he was unarmed, well that clearly classed him as a fool and one she didn t need to hold back on. Though maybe in this case a warning would suffice, and a display..though by his whistle he seemed to have gotten some of what he had wanted to see.
With a sudden twist the lowest most right arm throw the cloak up, pulling the handgun up, this also had the effect of showcasing she had 3 pairs of arms in total. With the Russia made handgun moving upwards Rei begins her first steps towards the man, without the slightest bit of hesitation. What she intended to do could be anyone's best guess, but it likely wasn't peaceful.
~~~
Well, the whistling didn't work as intended. The woman didn't seem surprised nor panicked and even had a pistol ready to be drawn by her third arm out of six total. Well, still, if he rushed her fast enough and got that pistol out of her grip, he was golden. He could take her...
...Wait, six arms?! Pausing in his advance on the woman, Grant let loose a rather weightless and wide swing of his right arm towards the woman, being in genuine shock and confusing regarding her additional appendages. He wasn't hallucinating. He knew damn well sure that he wasn't. So why the hell did she have six fucking arms? They obviously weren't props or some costume crap as she had grabbed one of her pistols and was pointing it at him with it. How the hell did this happen?!
~~~
Sneering beneath the mask, so was he horrified as well.. she can t help but ask herself. Regardless there were more important questions to ask. A pity she didn't fully understand how these limbs worked. Or she could have easily just shot or restrained him right there. Choosing to use her middle most right arm and human left arm, she grabs the punch in a standard take-down. Pulling the mysterious male forward, then using her own body weight to flip him head over heels onto his backside, the sniper proceeds to sit atop his waste with her legs straddled, though her legs seem to be arched as if ready to jump from her position, or being able to roll him onto his back for arrest under normal circumstances.
His punch in and of its self spoke of a man who was used to fighting, however.. Well she wasn't about to humor him on his own turf. Aiming her handgun at his forehead while cocking the hammer back while one of her free left arms pulls his right arm up in a twist as if to pin or dislocate it.
~~~
You could just tell sometimes that things weren't going to go your way, even before anything started; it was just a feeling you sometimes got, and rarely was it wrong. Sure enough as he threw that lackluster flailing of the arm that could hardly be called a punch, it was grabbed and he was flipped onto his back, proving that the person he was dealing with, while likely not holding enough melee skill to best him in a head on, one on one, they at least knew some professional moves.
Panicking at this development and the shine coming off the small handgun that would undoubtedly make its way to his forehead, Grant once again flails his arm, but instead it is grabbed, twisted or pinned. It hurt, but—something was wrong. He knew what it felt like to get his ass kicked, for his bones to get broken or snapped out of place but this feeling was different. It was like a strong pressure building up under his wrist where his bones were, almost as if there wasn't enough room for it, followed by a harsh and sudden stabbing sensation as a white, solid blade shot out from the area of the build up. The dull white object that shot out embedded itself in the ceiling, though honestly, Grant didn't care about that. He didn't even notice that. All he could focus on was the immense pain resonating in his wrist and forearm, so intense that it even forced this "new" him to cry out in pain.
"GAAH...! ...FUCK!" He screamed, gritting his teeth after in order to stifle another shout, afterwards attempting to yank back his arm in order to coddle it, but the woman held it firmly in place.
~~~
With eyes wide in shock, the Japanese Russian watches the hard white bone fire bare centimeters from her face impaling into the ceiling. Standing up from him, literally in fact, Rei left the man with his arm.
"Blyat! Dirmo!" Swearing in Russian, she hurriedly goes for the piece of bone to examine it. She was no medical expert, but this was for sure bone. More durable than the normal material, almost like iron or steel.
Was he some sort of monster as well. What should she do with him.. Yet another problem to deal with.
Sighing and setting her thoughts aside Rei decides to partly check on him, and partly interrogate him, her choice would be decided based on this. Sneering a bit and speaking in good English with a thick Russian accent the almond eyed girl snatches his arm once more. Feeling and squeezing it, regardless of if he was bleeding or not. The bone was there..she didn't twist that hard. So what in the hell was that.
"Stop crying like a baby. I have questions, you will answer them or I will shoot you. If I like the answers I may tend to your wounds.If you have any, boy." Keeping her gaze on him, she wasn't bothering to look at the arm.
"What are you? Why did you come here? Why should I not kill you here and now...and why did you whistle?" Staring him down, it was fortunate he was in pain it seemed. Pistol still trained the mask hid whatever thoughts or emotions she may be having.
~~~
Instantly recoiling the arm to coddle it, the younger boy hunches over with his arm held under. He didn't know what the hell happened or if it was bleeding, but it damn well hurt. It seemed as though the woman didn't much care for whatever pain he was going through as she swiftly returned to his side and ripped back the arm away from him, effectively gaining another shout in anguish from him. Seemingly out of breath from doing—"that", it was unlikely that he was faking. After collecting himself a moment, he replied to her questions, obviously not in enough pain to not be a smartass.
"...Asian and European. Why the fuck do you care, lady?" Taking another moment inhale and exhale roughly.
"...Why don't you take a guess. Why would I come here and try to kick your ass. Why would I possibly come up here?"
Explaining that, he once again paused to exhale several times. Oddly enough, the boy seemed more aggravated than actually afraid.
"And I don't know. Why shouldn't you? Already killed like 10 people that were just trying to survive." Looking up at the woman again, he seemed to either be getting used to the pain or that the pain itself was deteriorating. Scoffing, he shifts his gaze to the side in defiance.
"To think I thought you had a nice ass."
~~~
"Ten is it? I rather doubt most of them were human. That or you are slow to catch on. By my own count it was four or so. They should have noted the bodies and stayed away. As should you. Mister Amerikan Hero." Scoffing at his claim of ancestry she doesn't say anything in regards to it right off the bat at least.
"I guess it never occurred to you they may try and kill me for being what I now am. Just as they will you Mister European Asian. Or most people simply fire bones from their arms in Amerika?"
If she had to judge all of his answers there was no reason at all to keep him alive, in fact she might as well say as much.
"...well you know some flattery at least for your age. But you failed your questionnaire in flying colors as your people would say. You are a terrible salesman. I guess I"ll give you extra credit." While she seemed unmoved, her eyes had briefly narrowed at that remark.
Reaching up to remove her mask, she hadn't dared see what had became of her face since this all began, he would be the test dummy for that. With her scared and burned portions to the left, her right looked rather normal till one reached the base of her neck, her mouth was like one would assume most mouths to be. Minus when she spoke razor sharp shark like teeth were in place of the human ones you would expect.
"Tell me what do you see, what do you want, and what do you know of this city?"
~~~
"It's an exaggeration," He growled in response.
"And you do know that you have the option of not pulling the trigger, right? Not sure how much you know about guns, but they don't fire themselves."
What was with this woman? They would try to kill her? Yeah, the six arms are weird, but this early in the current events, no one would have the means to even try to kill her, especially not if they didn't know she was there in the first place. She as well seemed to have the misconception that people had the luxury to lynch freaks and people different from them.
"Lady, you do know there are these blood-covered things going around attacking everyone, right? I could be a fucking X-man; people have bigger things to worry about than a smartass that can shoot bones, which I won't because that shit fucking hurt, or a lady with six arms and a nice ass. Unless of course said nice ass starts shooting at people first," Pointing that out, Grant sighed once again.
"You seem the paranoid as all hell type, so maybe if you don't want a target on your back, you shouldn't be going ahead and painting it on there yourself. Get me?"
Catching his focus as she reached to remove her face mask, Grant could be heard muttering repeatedly and incoherently. It was hard to make out, sounding a bit like "No Mileena," over and over again, not that she was likely to understand. Upon removing it, he studied the woman's face and decided it was best to not be a smartass towards the first question. He'd talk a lot of shit, but he knew not to fuck around when a woman asked about her appearance. Not to mention that this one had a gun.
Sighing and shaking his lightly, the Asian-American wasn't the best at legitimately "comforting" people.
"...Someone that went into the wrong fight?" Pausing at that, he then turned back to his more snippy remarks, albeit answering the inquiries more.
"To have my arm back, this gun away from my face and for you to stop butchering people for no reason? And I go to college here. What do you think?"
~~~
Muttering something in Russian a bitter laugh emerges from the woman s mouth.
"Hmm...the wrong fight is it? Maybe so..maybe so..but you are wrong on that, better things..very wrong.." With a somewhat sad look to her face Rei quickly replaces her mask. He was far too observant or maybe insensitive, she wasn't sure of that, but she would not let herself be so easily read.
"You should not so readily assume all I ve shot this day were innocent..some people you have to shoot..and for some of us that process is far too automated."
Reaching a snap decision of sorts Rei releases the army, and puts her pistol down to her side.
"I claim you as prisoner...or conscript..the point is I cannot let you run off as you please..and you seem to have your own ideas of me. As to people there are seven more I must kill..there is reason for these." With her voice adopting a more harsh tone it didn't seem it was up to debate. He likely would have objections and questions, some which she would answer, but on the subject of his freedom...well that was not up for debate.
"...I need a guide...and I do not trust you..but you are also monster..or are we.." Shaking her head to set that thought aside, Rei seemed to narrow her eyes again with a shrug.
"It will not be so one-sided as this..maybe." Whatever she had in mind, she wasn't being upfront with it, that was for sure.
"Otherwise I will do this my way..so how is your arm?" She had half a mind to ask him if he wanted water or food, but she found it better to wait when there was an obvious sign of this, then she could just offer it offhandedly.
~~~
Pausing at her quick change in facial emotion, Grant lets out a sigh and his scowl persists.
"You women and cheating with your sad faces... God damn it," He complained with a huff.
"And I didn't say everyone you killed was innocent, but I doubt you could determine that when they're a few blocks away and have no idea you exist."
Checking his arm and rotating his wrist to make sure that he still has full functionality of it, the younger of the two freezes and stares up at her in a deadpan.
"...What." Prisoner? Conscript? What the hell was she on about? Regardless, it seemed she wasn't going to budge on the matter, and considering her multiple arms and guns, resisting her was probably a bad idea. The thought of being used to hunt down seven more people wasn't very appealing though.
"Oh yeah? And what'd these guys do? I don't care what you threaten to do to me, I'm not going to lead you around and help you commit murder; if there's actually a reason to take these fuckers you're talking about on, then there shouldn't be a problem in explaining, right?"
Leaning back against the wall of the tower cabin, while he seemed going along with this rather stoically, it was obvious he wouldn't be yanked around by a leash. Listening to the woman, there was something seriously wrong with her, not just with how she thought and her outlook but just the fact that what she said tended to be very vague.
"Lady, you pointed a gun out of me and made me shoot my damn bones out, then claimed me as a slave—No, not prisoner, slave. Prisoners sit in a cell and get taken care of, slaves actually do things and make your life easier. Regardless, how is this not one-sided and how do you think it feels?"
~~~
Glaring at the younger man with thinned piercing eyes, the Russian did not seem to be in the best of moods. With all that happened that was of little surprise. Still under the influence from the Vodka only hours before the Sniper kneels back down, looking him in the eye.
"Well..Slave.. How about I just shoot you now and be done with it?" He was..kind at least, with his remark on her sad face..well maybe kind wasn't the correct word. Regardless it was why she didn't just shoot him off the bat.
With a contemptuous snort she decides to at least inform him of some of her problems of this day, though still not out right with her details.
"..They are deserters and traitors. I am...hmm..Not policeman..border guard? Something like that in English. There actions lead to me having to kill..or mostly re-kill a number of my friends, boy. And how do I think it feels..heh.." With a slight chuckle it seemed he had struck a nerve of some sort.
With her eyes widening and the pupils shrinking her voice takes on a more arrogant tone that sounded almost hurt.
"I wouldn't know. I woke up today vomiting blood, became this and have watched the world go straight to hell, while I am in a land I don t like nor know. So you tell me how it feels! You stupid Gopnik..I guess you would even call that idiot security cop I had to kill innocent as well, even though he shot first...well any that mean me harm, I'm not giving them a chance to shoot first..already this day minus those things I have almost been killed, or at least people tried three times.." Standing to her feet Rei half ponders getting more to drink, this situation had slightly aggravated her.
~~~
"Oh, more guessing games. Let's see... Because you've already grown too attached to my sparkling personality?" Grant inquired in a sarcastic manner before scoffing.
"Lady, your threats aren't going to work because I know you were already going to shoot me. If you were going to do it, you would've done it already. So cut the tough chick routine."
Furrowing his brow at her rather vague explanation, it's obvious he's rather confused.
"Did... like... some Spetznaz group come to Manhattan that I wasn't aware of...?" He questioned her with uncertainty.
"And I'm nineteen..."
Suddenly, the woman seemed to break out in a fit of aggravation. Apparently he hit a nerve. Widening his eyes lightly and watching her go through her emotions, he finally sighed as she began to calm down. Shaking his head slightly spreading his arms in a "what" fashion, he begins speaking in a bit of ignorance of how to reply.
"So... Did you want a hug, or...?" Letting out a troublesome groan, knowing she likely wouldn't take too well to that, Grant quickly starts responding to it seriously.
"Look, if you want to vent. Fine, then vent. And I don't care if you shoot someone so long as it isn't sporadically."
~~~
"Federal'naya sluzhba bezopasnosti." Rei says by means of reply to the younger mans reply.
"Federal Security Services, Spetznas detachments of the Border Security Force have been used as Embassy Guards of the Russian Federation for several years now. Just like your American Marines protect US Embassy compounds. Though this is not my first time here, I was here once five years ago. Not as the FSB Mind you. I had just nearing 19 and my hair was red."
"..." Just staring at his hug remark it wasn't clear what she thought of it, while her eyes were still narrowed she didn't pull the gun on him. Plus he seemed to understand somewhat what level of power she had, or rather the willingness to use it.
"Don't offer what you won t give..and if I were to vent I would need to be drunk, so no story time for you...and its not as if I wanted to kill them. They didn't stay away." Putting the pistol back on her belt, and placing the SVD behind her back via its sling, the sniper goes back to watching the street and surrounding area.
"...I am Rei Tenzova Amane. I am Japanese Russian..well half Japanese...if you want.." As if mulling the words to say next she wasn't sure how to act without appearing weak.
"..if you see yourself as slave be thankful your master can be kind..a prisoner you said should be taken care of..da? I can cook..I...just, what is your name..anything else we will have to wait and see." Whatever it was she intended to say, it seemed she had some difficulty with it, but overall wasn't a psychopathic killer. As one of her arms rummage around in the poncho, a tin of some sort is thrown towards the still unknown man.
"...rations..will have to do for now."
~~~
"So... random moonspeak is going to be a general thing with you, huh?" Grant questioned with a deadpan. When she went on to actually translate what she had actually said, he nodded as if in understanding, before adopting a thoughtful expression at the end of her words.
"...Red hair, huh...? ...Huh, not bad, I think."
Moving on from that, the woman seemed to have taken his remark about the hug sarcastic for the wrong reasons.
"Wait, you mean you actually want one? Or will accept one without shooting me?"
Watching the sniper as she turned away from him and resumed her previous time-occupier of watching the street, she finally introduced herself and strangely enough was Japanese as well as Russian. Afterwards she seemed to be trying to—comfort him? Either that or make him see the bright side of things. Staring at her for a few moments, this woman, Rei, would find it common for him to reply with unhelpful, smartass remarks.
"So... we're going to stick with this bedroom role-play thing...?" Once again sensing that the woman would likely become aggravated, he sighed and answered seriously.
"Grant..."
Catching what was tossed at him, the Asian-American looks at it as she states what it is. Huffing, he shoved the container in his coat pocket.
"Well, Princess. You wanna leave this place anytime soon? I'm sure everyone, living or otherwise heard that damn rifle of yours. I don't think it can take out an entire swarm from all directions."
~~~
"Ask me again when I have Vodka." Rei says in regards to his questioning on the hug. With narrowed eyes at his bedroom remark, it was as good time as any to rain on his parade from her point of view, though likely he not be against the suggestion. Opening them more to a normal state she shrugs slightly with the suggestion.
"Well, I had planned to keep you in my sight when you sleep. I can sleep lightly..so get no funny ideas. Its that or I lock you in a closet. So yes, darling if others are around maybe I will treat it as such." To what extent she didn't elaborate on.
Letting a light chuckle slip with his last remark, he was an asshole in some regards, or maybe the term smartass was better. While off putting for US Society, it wasn't far apart from what she was used to.
"I m sure all that other gunfire I hear the distance isn't more impressive. You talk as if I have a machine gun..but very well, we may go elsewhere. But you will assist in my search and you will join me when I return to the Russian Embassy..unless I shoot you somewhere along the way, or you kill me as I am suspecting you may attempt...mister hero. Or maybe I am wrong on that.."
Watching him, it seemed she was with her body language saying
Lead the way.
~~~
"Huh... So I do have a chance with the chick that almost killed me..." Contemplating that, Rei then clarifies that she will be keeping him in the same room with her no matter where they go—albeit for a worse reason than he'd have preferred, and apparently it was that or a closet.
"Yeah... you are not shoving me in a cold, dark, confined place. Had enough of that in middle school." Folding his arms with a look of defiance, he did say he wasn't going to bend to her will. Besides, he didn't mind the alternative that much; if she wanted to stay up staring at him out of paranoia, it was fine. It didn't stop him from sleeping.
Sighing, she at least understood that it would be preferable to get moving. Standing up, Grant began dusting his clothing off and straightening his jacket before freezing at her outline of his services.
"Wait... What? The Embassy? Why the hell do I have to go there? Or you for that matter? Unless this is secluded to New York, I'm pretty sure the Government is dead," He pointed out, shaking his head once again as he turned to head out.
"Yeah, yeah. I'd say I'm not gonna kill you but it's not like you're gonna believe me... So, let's go."
~~~
"..Hmm..given you are so interested in me, if your words are true.." At the edge of her mask, the woman known as Rei seems to have a slight red blush. It seemed without the mask her emotions likely showed all too well.
"Just shut up, lead us off.." Shaking her head as if to clear her thoughts the red hue slightly above her mask seems to vanish.
"..I wish to bury, or at least burn the bodies of my fallen comrades. If I would I would bury all the rest I shot, but we don t have the time." Following in behind Grant she had little idea where they were headed. Asking at much there did seem to be some small shops in the area.
"Where are we going? I have some ideas of where we can check..but maybe we should find out what is happening.." Leaving her thoughts off on that note, if there was anything out of the ordinary besides the undead, it would be the mini mart store in the distance, that seems rather out of place for this region of the city.
