"It matters because it's going to bother me if I don't know."
She simply gave House an exasperated look.
"It matters because it's going to bother me if I don't know."
He stared right back.
"You.. Wouldn't like it." She shrugged dismissively.
"Tell me."
Yvaine seemed uncertain of whether she should say it or not. He could probably sway her fairly easily, at this point.
"Please?"
"..." She sighed heavily.. But relented. "If you go anywhere, you shouldn't be alone. It's not..-" she seemed to hesitate, clearly searching for a safe phrasing to use. "-..It isn't safe. Especially when you don't know this world." She tried to avoid mentioning the specifics on the dangers around.
"Then I'll be wandering off."
She gave an almost pleading look. "House, really... Please, don't.." She said something else... But it had been muttered, and was incoherent.
"What was that?"
She just blushed.. And shook her head. "Nothing.. It probably doesn't matter to you.." she mumbled.
"It might."
She just looked uncertain.. But repeated what she'd said. Not any louder, though, so it couldn't be made out.
"Speak up."
Hesitantly, she repeated herself, again. Just a little louder.. "I.. I said I don't want you to get hurt, alright?"
"... Oh."
She just looked away, twiddling her thumbs, embarrassedly. She had a feeling he would probably just tease her about it, or wander off despite.
