[A Realm of Uncertainty] * [OOC/Sign-up] * [All Ages Welcome - CLOSED]

Oooh, perfect. Now here's a question; would the sylvan suffer from nature withdrawal on a ship? Admittedly, the nature is below them in the ocean, but its not exactly a deep forest...
Naw, each Sylvan has a different connection to the world. Think of all the Sylvans living inside city walls. Their connection is the grass and weeds and trees in the city walls. Then you have the Sylvans who travel the seas, as yours may. While you have a connection, depending on how you were raised and where, it could be a reverence or could be a respect.

But what if they change their setting, so to speak? Aerye is a fan of the deep swamps and dark woods; if the separates herself from them, would there be an initial period of withdrawal as she adapts?

Interesting! I'll look forward to that when the time comes. Thanks for answering those questions; I'll keep working away at my CS.

I'll be here looking for collectible 1100 on Saints Row 4 ;-; One away...the struggle...

Today I learned that I can actually search for my collectibles on my full map, not just the mini. What I spent ten hours looking for was found in twenty seconds. GG me

Don't worry. If that makes you feel upset, just think about the fact that I once spent half a day looking for my glasses.

Which were on my face.

Another question! In terms of magic, I'd like Aeyre to be able to do some small form of divination; in terms of reading tea-leaves or palm lines. The usual voodoo magic idea, with runes, potions, all sorts of creepy things in jars...is this possible? Can it be performed on top of other magics? And what are the limitations for it?

Is this still open to new players? I've been dying for an RP to join and medieval fantasy is my thing :3 Looks like you're low on Sylvans. I'd love to snag a role. Maybe the Queen?

Let me direct you towards Zaith as he has a better understanding of our magic system than I...

We are, of course, always accepting new players. I know we had decided to hold off on giving players access to the King because if they dropped with such an important role, we would be up shit creek without a paddle but Ill talk with the other DMs and see what about the Queen. Did you have an idea as to what country?

@RainyDays Hi there :)

To answer your question about divination magic, yes it is possible. In the Realm, regular magic works through pure will power being applied to etherium, which permeates the world. So there is no actual "source" of magic, per se, just simply a facet of the world being shaped. Because magic works like this, divination operates on a different mechanism. In fact, the only way divination works is through non-magical means - tea leaves, runes, palm lines, reading cards, even animal entrails are all possible methods of predicting the future. It takes someone skilled to read these signs, but there is no will power required as there is for magic.

As for limitations, divination produces no visions or anything, and the readings are typically somewhat vague. Other than that, we just ask that players use discretion on how much might be revealed to your character (or another player's if your character is doing a reading for their character), and then you or they can choose how they want to roleplay out the future.

Let us know if you have any other questions, and I hope this answers that one :)

I can give you my word, GM to GM, that I won't leave you in a situation where you're placed in a difficult place on my accord. Should the time ever come that I can't take part I'd make sure I leave only when all of my business is tended to and closed. I know how much effort it takes to build an RP this advanced and intricate and how annoying and hard it is to deal with changin the plot when an important player drops out. So don't worry. Lol I know my word means nothing without proof but the words are there nonetheless.

I'm going to look through the countries in more depth this evening so I'll get back to you with a decision?

First off, thank you very much for your reply! This is really good; I was expecting perfect vision, more vague things that Aeyre can pick up. I took a look through the magical areas again and you've really cleared things up.

Annoyingly, the main 'classes' of magic aren't the ones I'm interested in - if I drop this here...

"Aeyre's magic is non-conventional, in the sense that she takes a new route with her skills. Instead of trying to master two main schools of magic, Aeyre grew an affinity towards honing her Creation skills with the use of Incantations, procuring charms or enchantments to sell or keep for herself. There are rumours that she's even trying to scratch runes into cauldrons in order to make better potions, thus far with no success."

I don't even know if the idea will be accepted or not. Aside from some basic creation spells, I wanted Aeyre to specialise in making funny potions and voodoo trinkets to give out to people. What are the rules on this?

Sorry that I haven't been posting. Real life, being sick because of the damn weather. I think this rp is going to be grand getting back into should have posts up more frequent now.

@Jack Nolan I love Saints Row BTW.

Shit happens. We try not to hold grudges but if a tree falls on your character and breaks your legs, you know why ;)

Yeah...ok great rofl.

@RainyDays

Your character concept (unconventional magics) seems perfectly reasonable. We welcome it. As for rules, I recommend for Aeyre to take the Artifice strength. Just keep in mind that creating small magical items like potions and small charms takes a lot of effort (a lot of will power to create a lasting effect). More powerful enchantments (like magic weapons or armor) are extremely rare. But it sounds like you're headed a more subtle route anyway, which is just as interesting. We're excited to see what you come up with :)

Thank you; worry not, if I make anything too large and powerful then by all means - step in and say no. I don't really get offended by it!

All of her trinkets are temporary anyway. The only properly enchanted item I planned for Aeyre was a nose stud, and even then the enchantment is pretty simple in and of itself. So I'm glad we're all on the same page with the power level here!

In other news, I've completed everything but the history in my character sheet; if there's anything standing out about the use of my magic, then feel free to point it out to me so I can fix it when I add my history tomorrow.

Cowboy. That was quite easily the edgiest thing I have ever read in a forum RP in the history of ever. Fucking kudos.

I think that's the most profanity laden post I ever made.

Anyways, Paragon was letting the Prince through haha, though it could be argued that's more of a Renegade option
