Normally Raz would have blown off the hunter, especially considering their last little spit.
But, he did understand the situation and quickly regrouped himself, tucked in his wings, and walked over to Eska.
The pup started to lick lightly at the man's hand, then nuzzled like a stupid dog.
God, he hated acting like a pet, especially since he had gained a lot of knowledge the past few weeks.

Hopefully the townsfolk will fall for it, thinking he was Eska's pet.
Burning at the steak didn't sound very fun.

The man looked down a little darkly at the wolf while his back was still to the townsfolk while the pup licked at his hand. Letting the show continue, he pet Raz behind the ears as he turned to the crowd, "Seems my wolf here got himself tangled up trying to help. Don't worry, this thing didn't drain that blood." yea, thing was on purpose. To really make it believable, or maybe just to get back at Raz some, "Heel boy." as he snapped his fingers and started to walk off. There were still two more traps and the creature he was after was known to eat more than once a night it seemed. Unless of course...well, hopefully there was only one.

When they were far enough away from the awestruck crowd who'd started whispering about how the man must be a great hunter to have tamed such a ferocious looking beast, Eska raised a hand ready to smack the pup. Instead he let out a noise almost like a growl and lowering his hand, "Get lost mutt, don't expect anymore rescues either, we're even now."

Razgul wasn't a pet and when the human finally stopped a bit away he bristled his hackles up angrily.
He appreciated the rescue, don't get him wrong, but the words that came after it? Not called for.
They actually hurt.
To think the man had taken care of him for weeks...now he was just a mutt?
Raz sat down where he stood and watched Eska, his ears to the side, wings loose on his back.
The pup's bottom lip was moving slightly, as if he were a human and about to cry.

His look didn't soften seeing the reaction the pup was giving him. He was upset at being made a fool like that in the last city when all he'd tried to do was help the kid with the request he'd actually made of the hunter! More and more he was feeling like Raz was similar to the other humans than what he'd first thought, and the pup had only given that theory another leg to stand on after pulling the switching stunt.

"You make me look like a complete fool back there in Darnisi, after it was you that asked to go mate no less! Then you follow me and screw up the trap for this creature. What do you want from me Raz?" He wasn't yelling, but his tone was not happy and clearly the near water works weren't affecting him anything more than getting more heated about the situation.

Razgul really wasn't sure how to respond.
He had just basically done what most orphaned pups did, stay with the one who finds them first.
Or, in this case, caught them first.
Even before he was sold he was getting attached to Eska.
It was kind of like when humans' hatch a bird, it imprints.
Normally a wolf pup does that when it's very young but after losing everyone his mind did it again without him realizing it.

So, the best response he could give to the anger he felt was to crouch down with the leaves against his belly, then roll over and produce his fuzzy underbelly.

The hunter only rolled his eyes at first at the display. As he was about to turn away from the pup rolling on his back, but then he remembered what the significance was within a wolf pack. Even common dogs humans had as pets responded this way...when they were faced with a situation of submit to a more dominant creature or fight for lead. Putting his hands on his hips, he stared down at Raz, thinking over the whole situation.

Eska stood there watching the pup for a good minute, looking into his eyes before shaking his head with a light sigh. "Fine, you can get up, but we are going to have a talk in the morning. Right now I need to focus on this blood sucking crea..." that's when the second set of alarms he'd set went off. Glancing to Raz, the man then took off running in that direction, bow drawn hoping to catch a glimpse if not a shot at whatever it was.

The pup's tail held hesitantly right above the ground an inch, waiting for the reply.
When it finally came he was back on his feet in a blur and at Eska's side, looking up to the other for any kind of attention.
A second later the trap went off and the pup followed abruptly when the human took off.
He wanted to be able to help but if he couldn't he would just stay back and let the 'alpha' handle the situation.
Yes, he'd just made himself a beta.

There was just enough moonlight, Eska caught a quick look at the thing as it was leaving the site. The creature had flown in on the prey, another goat nearby tripping the trap, hence why the previous kill caught an unusual pup instead of the intended target. Drawing back on his bow in mid-run, the hunter let the arrow loose, hitting the thing on it's back right between two giant wings. It seemed to try and take off, falling to the ground after a minute and not really getting anywhere.

Eska finally slowed to a stop next to the two dying animals, feeling sorry for them both. Removing his knife, he slit the goats throat so at least that one was out of it's pain. Then, looking upon the killing creature, a large frown appeared on is features. The body was about the size of Raz, with a wing span to match. It was a giant bat, "Gods only know where you came from my friend..."

The wolf pup poked at the creature with his paw, jumping back each time it flinched of made a noise.
He hadn't seem a bat as big as this before and he was rather confused.
After a few moments he shifted into his human form and walked back to Eska.
"I never seen it in my home."
He glanced back at the bat and frowned.
He didn't mind that it killed livestock, that's just what happened.
Heck, he had hunted humans for most of his life.

The hunter shook his head, using his bow as he squatted down to lift the wings up or flip the bat over. "Yea neither have I, Raz. I know ones exist that drink the blood of other animals, sometimes even humans. But...they don't get much bigger than a sparrow, maybe a raven sized one is the largest. This...this is just unbelievable."

The town's Elder found Eska again, this time successful and stopped about fifty feet from where the bat lay dead on the ground with the hunter and Raz inspecting it. At that moment he didn't even realize that the kid had wings (unless the cloak was there?) since they were facing each other. No right now the old man was horrified at the image of a gigantic bat and another dead goat. "By the Gods! What evil has touched that thing?"

Razgul actually took offense to the mans words, turning to eye him wearily.
His wings were tucked away within his skin.
"It might no be a thing you seen before but that does not make it evil."
Raz wasn't 'evil' he just lived the way he'd been taught.
Sure defending a blood-sucking creature wasn't the best idea but Razgul didn't understand about keeping his mouth shut to make humans happy.
He did what he thought he needed and that was all.

The hunter grumbled, his hand flying up and whacking the backside of the kid's head. "Shush pup." He said it low enough that only Raz would hear his words, and the hit to the head wasn't much harder than wolves playing together might experience. Right now it was purely about testing that display of dominance and submission from a few minutes ago.

Standing, Eska let the second goat, which had started bleating non-stop till it was hoarse, from the netting it got stuck in. Taking the net, he put the giant bat inside with some effort. He would want to look at it better later, in the sunlight, right now he needed to keep it from being eaten by any other larger predators attracted to the smell of a kill; namely wolves haha.

Carrying the carcass on his back, Eska nodded to the Elder and as he passed the man, "I'll look at this thing in the morning, if we're lucky, it's a once only freak occurrence."

The boy didn't argue at all and took the slap as one would from an alpha in a pack, like a threat and a jurisdiction.
He'd overstepped his bounds and quickly moved behind Eska, bowing his head.
Well...that was definitely an improvement from before?
Through the rest of the quick conversation Razgul remained silent and when the hunter picked up the dead creature he silently followed him back to wherever he wished to take it.
The boy was still upset about the human's disrespect but that couldn't just be cured by his words so the hunter had covered them up nonchalantly with the assertion of dominance.

The woman the hunter was staying with was surprised to see the younger man behind him as he came back, but even more so to see the giant bat on his back. Gasping she shook her head and slammed her door calling out that the evil thing would not be brought into her house. Very superstitious this town seemed to be. Nodding he asked her to at least pass him out some water and bread, which she did so through the cracked door while eyeing the dead netted creature carefully, as if it were about to reanimate and attack more people.

Eska thanked the woman for her hospitality and proceeded to the stables his horse was in for the night instead. Sure it wouldn't be as pleasant as sleeping in a bed again, but he couldn't risk loosing this carcass before he could look at it properly. Once they were settled in a clean stall across from his new horse, the hunter flopped down on the fresh hay with a heavy sigh. Leaning back and closing his eyes, one hand was behind his head, the other hovering over his lap. It was kind of habit by now to invite the pup to sleep there on his leg, and only having a few nights apart, he had missed it a little. It was nice to have a warm body to sleep next to that didn't smell of manure.

The signal to lay down was abruptly taken.
Raz had missed the other guy and quickly snuggled up with him in the hay.
He took a few moments to get find his tongue before finally speaking.
"Missed you..."
Sure he'd been following him bi-daily but that wasn't the same as being close.
Before he realized it he was licking lightly at Eska's neck. It was a type of comforting gesture meant for both involved but I guess humans might take it differently.
Oh well.

As soon as the kid was curled up against him, the hunter's arm wrapped around him. He'd grown comfortable with this kind of sleeping and had missed it the past couple nights. His eyes were closed when Raz spoke finally, only nodding quietly in response. The licking however got an eye to open, a very confused expression on his face. Softly he said, "Not sure what that means to you pup, but with humans that kind of thing is done before and during what you call mating." Eska didn't push him away though, it kind of felt good and he could brush it off as being some kind of wolf thing Raz was doing...right?

He put his hand from behind his head over onto his lap anyways, cause if the kid didn't stop there'd be evidence of how it wasn't just for comfort in humans soon.

The boy didn't really register the warning.
Males didn't mate so why would it matter? He was just showing affection for someone he missed.
So, the boy just gave a quiet grunt before shifting a bit more.
Said shift gave him better access to the others' neck because licking a shirt wasn't that comfortable.
At some point his wings had come back out and were resting against the hay on either side of them.
Yes, he'd shifted to kneel on either side of Eska's lap, all to make the licking easier.

Restraint; good thing he'd gotten his issue taken care of at the last city only a few days ago, or right now would be even worse for him. With Raz straddling his lap, the closeness to another person and the fact that his neck was getting so much attention, Eska was having a hard time keeping dirty pictures out of his mind. The pictures were all women though, so immediately he opened his eyes, forcing himself to look at the male in front of him. Raz looked younger, which didn't help much, since in the hunter's mind, the pup could look feminine enough with a little imagination or some special get up.

The hunter put his hands on the kid's chest, pressing there to push him back. Shaking his head, there was definitely a bit of heavier breathing started. "Not the neck, please. Anywhere but the neck." He actually meant almost anywhere but the neck, but didn't think that other certain private locations would be on the list of places to lick...silly Eska forgetting about canine habits surrounding sniffing at the very least the "junk" of other dogs or wolves as a way to get to know one another.

Oh he knew the whole junk sniffing but had noticed that humans don't do that to each other.
So, he'd learned very quickly not to do that.
He looked a bit perplexed at the request but mentally shrugged. Guess he still thought Raz was a bit dangerous...that's not cool.
The pup shifted a bit awkwardly, sitting down instead of kneeling over Eska's lap.
He quickly lifted up Eska's shirt, because again, licking fabric totally sucked.
Then he was licking at one of the nipples and around that area.
Well, it wasn't the neck and it was decently easy to reach?

(You are EVIL! :P)

Seeming satisfied that he'd gotten the kid to back off his neck, Eska let his head fall back onto the hay behind it and his eyes close. That was until his shirt was pulled up and the warm, wet tongue started working at a nipple. He couldn't help himself as a quiet moan gave a supporting role to the quickly stiffening mound the pup was now sitting on. His body was reacting to the sensations way faster than he could remind himself that not only was Raz a male, but he wasn't human either. No matter how much the man told himself that the kid didn't know any better, it didn't change his natural responses to the stimulation provided. "O-okay..just..." taking a deep breath and trying to pick the kid's face up from his chest to look at him, "unless you're trying to get me excited, kid, I think maybe you should just stick to the hands, arm and cheek okay?"
