What One Thinks is Only A Monster...

The pup slept quietly even as it was picked up.
The days events had taken a toll on him and now his body was just focused on fixing his injury.
Though when the hunter moved away he blinked open tired eyes to relocate him.
Razgul didn't want to be left alone after the earlier threat so if Eska left the room for some reason or didn't come to sleep soon he'd probably crawl out of bed and try to follow.
It was a pretty stupid move but that's what dogs do with their masters.

The man was standing at the side of the room, removing his belt and boots, then looked out the window. He was still concerned as well about the day's events. Everything was mulling over in his mind while he watched a flock of birds traveling south. Winter was coming, but hopefully that being wasn't looking for Raz still. At least it was harder for them to find him in the human form, especially if his wings were hidden. But the hunter knew the kid couldn't keep that up all the time.

With a heavy sigh he turned back to facing the bed, seeing the kid's eyes open he went over and sat on the edge. "Hey, get some rest okay? I want you healed as fast as you can, you understand?"

The boy watched Eska until he finally turned to face him, then as he walked over.
Raz shrunk under the covers a tiny bit, afraid he might be in trouble but when hunter only said to get some rest he let out a sigh of comfort.
Before Eska could move away at all Raz was reaching out and grabbing a careful hold on the others' pants.
"No going Essa."
He was determined to get the other to stay, even if it meant him being dragged out of bed.

The hunter really hadn't decided what he was going to do, and wasn't close to standing at all when his leg was grabbed. Frowning with a nod, he reached out, running his fingers across the kid's cheek like a parent trying to comfort a child. "It's alright, I'm not going anywhere right now. But I really need you to go back sleep." Eska shifted his weight on the bed so he was now sitting closer to the top of the mattress, one leg up on in the other hanging off. His back was pressed to the headboard, and the hunter was actually just stroking the pup slowly, showing the Raz some comfort for the time being.

The boy closed his eyes as his hair was stroked.
He wouldn't go against Eska's wishes so after a few more moments he was asleep once more.

Little did the two know they were being watched from outside.
The wolf had easily tracked the two with its nose. It hadn't needed to see them, their scents were ingrained in its memory.
It sent a message back to its master, wondering what the next move was.
He could easily get the wolf boy once more, and yes, its master was given that new information as well.

The master let it's pet know to do as it liked with the human, but bring the wolf boy back. What an interesting turn of events, not only a unique winged wolf, but one that could take the shape of a human. This one definitely needed to be studied, recreated, made better.

Eska had fallen asleep sitting up, though was uncomfortable feeling like there were eyes upon him, and so stirred often in his sleep. He had his hand still in the kid's hair, where it would remain until he woke or something else moved it.

The wolf easily slipped into the unguarded inn.
Most people in that town didn't mind wolves because they hadn't had any issues with the local packs, so when the man's servant was seen on the street no one really questioned it.
As the large wolf moved through the darkness of the building its paws clicked ever-so-lightly against the wooden boards.
When it stopped it was right in front of Eska and Razgul's door.

Normally a canine wouldn't be able to open the door but this wolf was different.
He hopped up on his back feet and bit the handle, twisting and pushing until the door opened in.

The next few seconds went by in a blur.
The large wolf was on the bed and had it's teeth around Raz's neck.
He was yanked out of bed and straight through the window in the middle of the room as the larger wolf headed off towards its master.

The second Eska felt something wrong, feeling fur and Raz next to him, he grabbed on tight, his arms about the strange wolf's neck. Unfortunately he was being pulled out the window, no boots or belt which meant no weapons, but he couldn't let this thing just have the pup either. "Leave my pup alone you stupid mutt!" digging his fingers hard into the wolf's neck as it doubled not only as holding on for dear life, but to try and get the thing to stop.

The wolf dropped Raz to the ground, knocking him out from the fall right as he was waking up from resting.
He landed easily and bucked like a horse, trying to shake the hunter off.
His mouth kept getting close to the man's limbs but his hold on his neck was just barely preventing him from getting in that bite.
After a few more moments of struggling he gave out a scratchy haunting howl as a call for help from its master.
It might have failed at its task but it was a very handy tool so hopefully his master won't mind helping him.

Oh boy did Eska hold on as tight as he could. He knew the second he lost the grip, Raz was gone and he had no way of finding him again after. The hunter didn't even have a chance to see if the kid was alright after getting dropped, but judging from the height at which the pup was let go, he wasn't betting on it.

Suddenly the dark cloaked figure appeared again, and though the face still wasn't visible, a sense of the thing's anger was evident like a blanket coating the area around it. "Why musssst you fail, beasssst? The Masssster won't be happy." The sound was barely a sound, like the hiss of a snake formed into words. Just as suddenly as this cloaked creature appeared, a sharp pain seared through the hunter's head. The man fought to hold on still, but it became unbearable, his hands letting go of the wolf to grab at his own face with an agonized expression to match the yell that was starting deep in his lungs.

Pitched off the wolf's back, Eska landed curled up on the ground just a few feet from Raz. His hand reached out for the pup, vision blurry still from the mental attack, softly calling to the kid.

(Why come yourself when you can send your created lackeys? >.>)

Touche.
The wolf instantly regained its' hold on Raz's neck as Eska was thrown from his pelt.
It quickly dragged the unconscious pup over the cloaked figure and bowed on its from legs.
The beast seemed to be trying to apologize to the human-like figure.
He picked the boy back up and dragged him a few paces towards the forest, then glanced back at the cloaked person, hoping it was still okay to deliver the pup to its master.

Right before Eska's eyes the three of them disappeared, leaving him panting on the ground just staring at the place they'd been at. The man lay there for how long he wasn't sure. Someone finally came out of the inn and saw him laying on the ground, helping him back to his room thinking he'd been drunk, went for a walk and fell. He was lost as to how to find the kid again, and so curled up in the bed where the pup was last sleeping.

They disappeared from in front of Eska's eyes, or at least that's how it seemed. In reality this hooded snake like creature was faster than anything, including the black wolf comrade. When they stopped moving, the thing let go of the wolf holding Raz and knelt down, pulling the hood back finally. The face looked like a cross between human and snake, slits for nose and ears, almond shaped eyes with diamond like pupils. It's skin was a queasy greenish color with flecks of copper and red mixed in patterns on the forehead and pulling back across the top of the hairless head. There were patches of scales on the putrid looking skin in random spots, perhaps a part of the experiment that had failed. The the snake-man was facing another, a man clothed in dark robes with a single braided rope belt around his waist and no other evidence of other clothing or things on him.

"What have you brought me my pets?" His voice was soft, calming, nothing to give away that the man might actually be capable of anything bad or dangerous. The snake-man answered, never lifting his face from the ground, "We have found a ssssspecial creature my Massssster. It can be human or wolf, and can fly." again the voice was no louder than a whisper. Guess when it was created talking wasn't a necessary attribute and was therefore never enhanced, and yet it learned how to anyways.

(for now use the master guy as an NPC? unless you can come up with another character in that area of one of us to play :P)

The creature stepped out of the shadows enough to see that it's hood was actually risen further above its head then a normal human.
It walked forward, its foot moving from behind the robe to show a furred foot with rather sharp claws.
The foot lifted Razgul's head up slightly, looking at the unconscious pup.
"Interesting...I've heard of these creatures but they were thought to be extinct.
Did you find any others with the hunter?"

The black wolf and snake creature both shook their heads and the cloaked male nodded.
"I see.
The hunter must have been lucky to find such a creature and planned to sell it."
He shook his head and 'tsk'ed quietly.
"Selling such a creature is a waste. No, this needs to be tested and...adjusted."
Turning the creature motioned with a slight black furred clawed hand for the other two to follow.

The black wolf grabbed up Razgul and dragged him away as ordered, following its master.

(I was thinking the master be a shapeshifter banished god. Like Anubis, with the large ears and claws and has 3 forms. A haired human form which he's in now with the long pointed ears. A regular human form, and a giant wolf form.)

The master led his pets down a hallway encased in shadows with only a few lone torches along the walls to stave off the complete and utter darkness. An archway at the other end led into a decent sized chamber, only a little brighter than the corridor they'd just left. There was a door on either side of the room, which might have been mistaken for round since the corners were shrouded entirely in black shadows. Closer to the back wall, maybe twenty feet from it, and about center from the sides was a wooden table. In the grain and the spaces between tiles on the floor below were still traces of what happened there previously, stained a deep burgundy.

A clawed hand stuck out from under the robes, motioning to the table. The Master wanted to inspect his newest pet before deciding just how to improve the boy. The wolf hadn't been so gentle, practically tossing Raz onto the table top which earned a glare from the snake-man. When it was done, both pets backed away, keeping their heads low and waiting for further instructions.

"Yaben." calling over the snakeman with his arms outstretched. The creature removed it's master's robe, revealing a mostly human body, a length of cloth stopping just above his knee wrapped about his waist. His head almost looked like that of a dog, with haired clawed feet and hands. Despite the simple robe before, there was now evidence of more ornate tastes, his neck, wrists and ankles adorned with gold and precious stones worked into jewelry.

Indeed the creature looked much like a canid, a fox, to be precise.
His ears were furred lightly in dark reddish orange and black and even with a slightly human face he still had a few whiskers roaming about.
As his servant moved back against the wall with his robe you could see that the cloth around his waist was slightly covering the same dark fur from his ears.
It moved down his slightly bent legs, mirroring the back legs of a fox slightly.

"Now then..."
His voice was dark and sultry as he walked over to the wolf boy.
It had shifted back into a canine and a calm smirk crossed Faux's lips as his clawed hand ran through silky fur.
"You are beautiful...but a few things need...fixed."

Raz started to growl quietly, his dark eyes narrowing on the figure above him.
He still couldn't move well enough to attack just yet but he wasn't going to just let this, thing, take him apart.
