War Of The Elements

She smiled back at him, though it was mote for ed then genuin and walked up to him, placing her hand on his chest. 'The pleasure is all mine Nehs BUT i am quite busy.' She began to gently push him backwards until he hit the door. 'So if you do not mind...' She looked at him then the door behind him, signalling that he should leave. This was starting to become more trouble then it was worth. How could she complete her mission if she kept getting interrupted. She had to memorise and burn those file before she arrived at the Earth Nation.

He felt her hand press on his chest as she pushed him back against the door. She said it was a pleasure to meet him but he knew that it wasn't the truth. She just wanted to get him out of her hair so she could go back to her work, but those files were what he needed as well. Shen had to formulate a plan in his head and quickly or else he would fail the mission as soon as he started it. What were things he could have done? Seduction? Intimidation? The intimidation factor would not work because he would not gain her trust that way. He was unsure about the seduction factor though. Would getting on an intimate level work with one as Mottomo, or would he end up getting a hand to his neck and getting his body cooked from the inside. He had a deck of cards in his mind and now it was his turn to draw, and that is exactly what he did.

He grabbed the wrist of the hand she pushed with, before pulling it down and attempting to entwine his fingers with hers. He looked deep into her eyes, but he did not know what line he should have used next. He paused for a moment, and right there he would have slapped himself in the face for not realizing it sooner. Shen could have said that he was supposed to be her bodyguard this whole time.

"Well you see miss, I am your bodyguard. I was called by the higher ups to protect you on your journey. Are you not proud of yourself? Your stature and reputation has got someone to protect you!"

The assassin was truly an idiot. He grabbed her hand and looked her deep in the eyes, yet said he was her bodyguard?

He was truly not a master of human interaction.

She was taken aback as he grabbed her wrist, tangling his fingers with hers. She stared at him and for the first time her face showed something other then her usual frown. The silence between the two was long as she waited for him to explain himself, her heart beating in her chest as he finally opened his mouth to speak. '...I am your bodyguard.' 'B-Bodyguard?' She cleared her throat as she regained herself, freeing her hand from his as she took a step back. 'I thought i told you i don't need protecting?' Her frown returned as she sighed and ran her hand through her hair. She had no place to disagree with her superiors and even though she was more then capable of looking after herself, she would just have to put up with him.

He felt her hand release from his and he sighed slightly. Another odd feeling filled his heart once more, but what would he call it this time. Affection? Infatuation? Whatever it was, Shen was not enjoying it. He watched his body move his hand to reach back for hers as if it was a reflex, as if that was his first time feeling another humans skin. A murmur came from the assassin as he looked away.

"Her hands were so soft..."

A shake of the head would kick these thoughts out of his mind. He was on a mission here, and he was having to remind himself too many times that this was not a field trip. The government of the Water Nation was depending on him right now, and there was no way that he was going to let them down. This was also the first time that he felt like he had such a great duty to his nation. Regardless, it was time to get the information that he needed from this woman, even if small feelings started to spring up here and there as he talked to her.

"Y-Yes, that's right, I am your bodyguard. Sorry if it displeases you, but it had to be done. We are going on a very important mission are we not?"

He was not in the right mind to assume so, and why did he even stutter. Was this woman really having that great of an effect on him? The documents shoved under the pillow could be nothing, or they could be something even greater. He nodded his head towards the pillow.

"Can you pull those files out now that I have explained my purpose? We should get going with our mission, miss."

She turned her head to look at the documents obviously hidden under the pillow before looking back at him. 'That is classified information and seeing as you are only a 'bodyguard' what is contained in those files are none of your business. Your orders are to protect me so... Just stay out of my way.' She didn't have time to be distracted by people, no matter how attractive they may be, or how cute his nervousness was... FOCUS! She mentally scolded herself before going over to her bed, grabbed the documents from their 'hiding place' and left the room, slipping past Nehs and casually walked down the corridor.

The ship moved gently as the waves pushed against its hull, making her feel a bit seasick.
I hate... water... She practically ran to the bathroom, locking herself in one of the stalls and brung up the contents of her stomach.

Feeling better, she rinsed her mouth out and tied her hair up in a bun before locking herself back in the stall. Sitting on the closed lid of the toilet she FINALLY had the privacy she needed to finish reading her documents.

Shen did not understand her. Isn't this what bodyguards do, they follow their target do they not? He watched her grab the documents up from underneath the pillow before walking out the room. As soon as she walked out of the room, he gave himself a mental slap. His feelings were impairing his speech and that is something that an assassin should not have happen to them. Shen was supposed to be a cold blooded killer, not a week minded fool who falls for a woman based on how beautiful she was, or how soft her skin felt. He guessed that these emotions were just natural for every being, and he would have to try his best in controlling them. Shen walked out of the room shortly after Mottomo before seeing her walking off in the other direction.

She probably had enough of him for now, and there was no way that he wanted to ruin their relations. The man had started up a relation, even if it was petty in comparison to hers with other individuals. Shen placed his Fire Nation mask back on and popped his neck. He walked off in the opposite direction, going up the stairs and to the deck of the ship. He looked towards the ocean, taking in the scenery. The sight slightly reminded him of home, and he took a deep breath, sucking in the ocean air. He breathed outward and let out a sigh of relaxation. Behind him, a group of soldiers were talking but he was too far away to properly hear the words they were saying. The disguised figure turned around before walking towards the group. A Fire Nation soldier grunted before making room to let him join in.

"Whats going on. Whats all the commotion about?"

"Did you not hear? We're going to the Earth Nation on term, but no one knows what that term is!"

"Well, someone has to know what that is, don't they?"

"Whatever. As long as we get to fight or light something on fire, I am all in!"

The other soldiers in the group laughed, all except for Shen. Once they were finished, he looked around among them and awkwardly laughed.

"Well, that was a bit late, but always later than never I say!"

He nodded at all of them before backing away, going to the side to look over the ocean once more. He murmured thoughts to himself.

"Earth...Nation?"

Nathans mouth dropped when he saw the large fire nation ship, fog coving it. The earth nations port lied 10 miles, the ship was more or less 6 miles away , With nathan standing the ship stopped, Sakura spoke, but Nathan payed no attention as he focused on the ship bending the waves beneath it, finally he ordered the command. "Fire! Fire! Shoot the ship!" With each word large bombs flew, large cannon's lied on the ship, one in the middle and two on it's side. Boom! The ship hit the boat with a flame, blasting the top, and setting the ship aflame. Boom! The bomb missed, blasting a large wave of water next to the burning fire nation ship. Bombs flew towards the port, blasting away the light house. With a final boom the bomb flew, hiting a large group of people.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Max wasn't the best stalker, bumping into people as he followed fang, unsurprisingly fang stopped, asking who Max was. "Yeah.....I'm not the best at being stealthily. " then the bomb came, killing a large group of women, men, and children. The bomb blew the stone from the ports floor, sending large stone shards towards Max and fang. Max smiled as the shards came, Max did a side kick, sending a large blast of air towards the shards, knocking them to the ground.
A maniacal smile spread over her face as she studied the documents, flicking through the numerous pages. 'Well this'll be a fun mission.' She mumbled to herself before she heard her soldiers screaming above deck, followed by the BANG of cannons. The force of them hitting the hull made her slip, hitting her head on the wall of the stall and causing a small gash to begin oozing out her blood. She quickly gathered the files and clicked her fingers, creating sparks that burnt holes in the folder. The ship was bound to sink and she had to get off it before that happened.
Making her way up to the bridge she addressed the Captain. 'What is happening?!' She ordered, being saluted by the Captain before being briefed. 'We are under attack by an unidentified ship. We suspect it to be the Water Nation.' Another cannon hit, throwing the ship around once more before the alarms sounded. 'Miss Mottomo, you must evacuate.' She nodded at the Captain, saluting him before making her way through the crowds of soldiers that were frantically running around.
She stopped when she realised her supposed 'bodyguard' was nowhere to be seen. 'Useless... When i need protecting that fool isn't here...' With there masks on it was difficult to tell them apart but she knew that if he died she would surely get punished. She could always notice blood on her subordinates uniforms, it was almost like her sixth sense and lucky because without it she could have never found him.
She spun Nehs around and pulled his mask off, throwing it overboard so next time he'd be easier to find. She almost smiled seeing his face but this was not a good time for 'happy reunions'. She grabbed him by the front of his uniform and began to drag him off towards the boats being lowered into the violent waves below.
The sounds of cannons could be heard in the distance as bombs flew towards the Fire Nation ship. The bombs hit the hull of the ship, probably causing a gap which would cause the now burning ship to sink. Another bomb hit the middle of the ship, close to where he was. He watched a large burst of flame fly up in front of him, igniting the deck of the ship. The assassin heard the cries of the other soldiers before shrugging, and backing away from the fire. Although the ship sinking would be a tragedy, he had seen worth. Shen was a man who had killed countless people, and a simple explosion of fire would not startle him.
"Well, isn't this a peculiar situation..."
A tug of the arm and the taking off of his mask would reveal the one he was supposed to 'protect', and that was Mottomo. He slightly smiled while seeing her, before quickly wiping the emotion off of his face. What in the world was he doing? He should have killed her moments ago for not giving him what he wanted and called it a day. But now at this point he could probably not even imagine harming a hair on her head. His daze was broken by himself being pulled by the uniform to the evacuation ships. The water was being shaken hard from the explosion, as if a typhoon was coming up.
"Ma'am, are we going to continue our mission and go to the Earth Nation or are we done here?"
Before Fang could respond to the odd boy he hears a nasty explosion followed by screams from the civilians, quickly turning he was surprised when the boy airbended the shards away from them. Fang glared at the unnesecary carnage, looking beyond the ferry toward where the blasts came from, he clenches his hands into fists. Who would do this? And for what reason? Noticing a woman that had been caught in the blast but was still alive her legs being severely injured, Fang quickly runs toward her. Jumping over the destroyed end of the dock, his long strong legs propelling him enough to land on the deck of the ferry, next to the survivor he had seen.
Fang quickly but gently picks her up in a cradling position, looking around for any sign of danger he runs his options through his mind in a rush. He didnt want to show his powers but...Left with little choice he jumps off the ferry using his water bending to making the water rise up to meet him, he bends the water to take him to the other end of the dock. The woman still cradled in his arms, now unconscious with severe injuries to her legs and abdomen.
She stopped momentarily as she faced Nehs. 'I have a mission to do and NOTHING will stop me from completing it. Now stop stalling and focus on staying alive, otherwise i'll get in trouble.' Still having hold of his front she continued to drag him until they reached a boat that had been waiting for her.
'Captain.'
She released Nehs' uniform to saluted him. Though it is noble to go down with ones ship, no Fire Nation captain or soldier should die by water. 'Miss Mottomo.' He Saluted her in return as he continued.' 'The boat awaits you.' He stopped when he saw Rehs behind her, eyeing him closely though not saying anything about his presence. She grabbed his wrist and dragged him onto the boat with her, the Captain following behind. She wasn't taking any chances on losing him again.
The boat was lowered into the ocean and was immediately bombarded with crashing waves. Salty water splashed onto her face, causing the gash on her forehead to sting. She raised her hand in an attempt to cover the wound from the water.
Looking back at the sinking ship, she watched as countless numbers of soldiers floated atop the water as it dragged the now smouldering ship beneath its waves. No doubt she had lost over half her men. 'Stupid Water Nation...' She mumbled, her emerald eyes filled with hate as she looked away.
For some reason, he slightly enjoyed her tone of voice and determination. She was truly and honorable woman, not giving up on the mission she was given, regardless of their ship sinking right in front of them. He felt her grasp let go as she stopped to salute the captain, and Nehs copied her as well. The man gave him a nasty glare, probably suspecting him of treason or simply not recognizing him. Shen would have killed the man on the spot for the look he was giving him if he was not a spy. The disguised individual felt himself being pulled once more, and into the boat. The boat was dropped down into the crashing waves, and the boat rocked back and forth vigorously in the water.
Shen watched Mottomo twinge in pain for a moment, before noticing that she had a wound. He also watched her look back at the sinking ship before muttering about how the Water Nation was stupid, and this made his heart twinge for a moment. The idiot did not realize until now that he was showing compassion for a woman from a different nation. There were plenty of Water Nation women who were equally as beautiful but she felt somewhat...different. Her hand moved to cover her wound, and Shen realized that he still had his canteen of water. He quickly pulled it out before unscrewing the top. His left hand moved up to remove her hand from her wound, and poured water onto it with his other hand. After a few droplets got on her wound, he dropped his canteen and placed his right hand on the wound.
Shen was using the water to soothe her wound. He hoped that she would just think it was the water soothing it, and actually not him bending it with his hand that was currently on her head.
He once again took her aback, he was good at doing that. He removed her hand from the wound on her forehead, although reluctant at first she let him. The water he dribbled on it was sooting, as was his hand and she couldn't help but smile at him. 'Thank you.' She whispered to him as she closed her eyes and relaxed, though this was short lived.
The boat reached the shore of the Earth Nation, and the soldiers around them rushed out to secure the area in case of another Water Nation attack. She let out a small sigh as she gently pulled Rehs' hand off her head and got off the boat.
'Report.' She grabbed the closest soldier and made him face her. 'All secure Miss Mottomo!' The soldier was obviously nervous and was relieved as she let him go and walked up the shore towards the town, not turning back to see if Rehs was following her. She was getting too cosy with him and she had to keep reminding herself that her feelings are a sign of weakness.
Glaring into a window at her reflection, she untied her hair, letting it fall down her back and began to detangle with her fingers.
A sense of comfort ran through Shen as he had his hand on her wound. He watched her get comfortable by him and he was slightly intrigued by this. They had not known each other for that long but they were getting closer than he would have ever imagined. Their trip was short though, and he noticed himself and the others on the ship getting off sooner than he expected. It seemed as if many things were going to surprise him today. Pulling out his canteen, he pretended to take a sip of water, but he was actually checking to see how much he had left.
The canteen was half empty, and he would have to fill up his canteen with fresh water soon at this rate. Slipping his canteen back underneath his uniform, he watched Mottomo pull up a soldier, checking on their status. The soldier confirmed that everything was clear, and Shen watched as she walked up towards the town. Still seeing that he had to keep his bodyguard persona up, he followed slowly behind. He watched her stand in front of a window and readjust her hair. Shen ran a hand through his hair before yawning slightly. He walked up to her side before giving her a smile. This time he could not even tell if he was faking it or not, but it did not matter. Moving to the wall in front of them, he leaned up against it before rendering words to her.
"Well miss Mottomo, what is our next course of action?"
Is this what a date felt like? Two people going to a place by themselves and conversing? Shen had never been on one, but this is what it seemed like to him. Waiting for her answer, he also contemplated about his nation. He now realized that they were ruthless and hardy, attacking the Fire Nation ship without remorse.
Was his homeland truly in the right to go around and take everything as if they already owned it?
Rehs moved to her side, a small smile on his face though she didn't acknowledge it. Satisfied with her hair she turned to him as he spoke. '...What is our next course of action?' He was sure pushy with his questions but she could understand that. Getting the order to protect someone yet know nothing of their plans can leave one wondering just why they need protecting when they are capable of it themselves.
She looked back at the soldiers, checking if they were out of ear shot. 'We are going to 'talk' to the Leader of the Earth Nation.' She whispered, taking a step closer to him. 'I can trust you right?' She asked him, her face almost worried what his answer would be. Out of them all he was probably the most capable of protecting her properly, not that she needed it of course. She'd be lying if she said she didn't enjoy his company. She gave him a weak smile as the silence fell between to two once more.
Sakura stood up, putting her arm out to stop Nathan. "There are innocents on that ship, like it or not. It's best if we let them hit port, find out what they want there, and then strike when the timings right." She was back to being a hardened assassin, as if forgetting the events of a few moments earlier. "Of course, if you wish to keep firing and murdering innocents, as well as provoke the fire nation to attacking the water nation, go right ahead. Chances are they have some kind of radio on that ship that they can contact their home land."
Blood, blood covered The stone floor of The port, While corpses lie whole and mutilated, slowly earth nation soldiers workerd on The horrible scene. Four watch towers stood in The ocean, just off The port, earth made walls tower The sky, looking as if ground and stone was pulled raw to make the defense . The towers where 6 floors, a earth Bender on each. Then The silence came, women and children stopped as they saw their le as setting apperace. Leaving The deck was a small earth nation village, then a small forest. After The walk You would finally com upon days of walking, you would finally see The earth nations capital, a large city made of earth. slowly she made her way to The port, her large green session dragging against The ground as she walked. Then finally she stopped. Her hair was in a ponytail, showing complete dark brown hair. Her skin lied as a dark shade of tan, while her feet fell bare.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Nathan smiled as Sakura spoke, slowly The fire nation ship he have seen fell, deeper and deeper into The vast ocean, the fire nation ship went down With out a fight, interacting their evacuation. "It's to late, You..You must take a life boat, meet The earth nation's leader, I am afaird i have started a war, I must inform our nation." Nathan was looking at Sakura now, his blue eyes filled with hope.

"Oy, you brought me onto this boat in the first place." She crossed her arms. "As sure as I know I don't want to be a tool of the water nation anymore, I know that I'm not leaving. You got me involved, and for whatever reason..." She looked back out to the ocean. "I feel like helping you, not quite going along with EVERYTHING you do, but protecting you however I can."

Nathan stood silent, never before had he gained a.....protector. Nathan could always fight for him self, if it wasn't bending then it was hand to hand. Nathan was quite fit for his age, making his appearance of a twenty one year old. Then he smiled, "Then let's dack. "

Talk to the leader of the Earth Nation? Judging by the way she said it, it seemed as if they were going to do something completely different to their ruler. As she took a step closer, his heart beat went from a steady one to a more fast paced one. She asked if she could trust him with this info before giving him a worried look, then masking it with a smile. An awkward silence came before he looked to the side. Her words pierced his heart. Could Mottomo actually trust Shen, could she even be safe around him? He would try to take this moment to follow his heart, at least once.

Shen put his right hand upon Mottomo's shoulder before nodding in assurance. He had to reassure her that everything was going to be alright, even if the fact of the matter was that she was talking to her killer at this moment. His left hand took her other hand and raised it up before looking into her eyes once more, trying to fake emotion. Well, who could he lie to now? Shen's compassion at this moment was real and genuine.

"Of course you can trust me. I am your bodyguard, right? Let's go ahead and 'talk' to this nation's leader."

The assassin had to make sure that their task would be completed without bending, or that would pose a serious threat for all three of these nations involved.
