"Great, well let's get out if here. My base has it's own propane so we can get warm inside. This cold is enough to kill" he said zipping his coat as well. "Seeing as the streets are not very safe, it's gonna be a little more challenging to get there. Ever wanted to fly?" He gave her a smile before sprinting to the edge of the rooftop and jumped to the next one, rolling over his shoulder to soften the impact. He came to the edge of the rooftop and laid on his stomach letting his arm dangle over the edge ready to catch Rose. "Come on, I'll catch you." He said looking over at her. He refused to look down seeing as he already knew what was below him.

He was insane he had to be. Rose's eyes widened and she took a deep breath. It was either jump and go with him or starve up here on the roof, frozen. She decided to jump.

With a deep breath she said a quick prayer and moved back so she could get a running start. She sprinted towards the edge of the building and launched herself over to the outstretched hands that awaited her. She peered one eye open, expecting to be ripped to shreds but no, she was clinging to a pair of cold hands that she had grasped. She made it!

"You caught me!" She murmured as loudly as she dared. She was giddy with excitement now and helped hoist herself up.

Victor held on tight as he caught her. "See, told you I'd catch you" he said before pulling her up onto the roof. "Come on, I don't think we'll have to do that again." He said and gave her a smile before leading the way across the rooftop. There went a vent that ran between the building they were currently on to a building across from it. He dropped down on too of it and felt a debt form in the metal upon impact. "Careful it's a little bit of a drop." He said as he waited for her with his arms out to catch her. They still had a bit to go and they had at the most 20 minutes of sunlight left. But at least they would be able to clear more ground using the rooftops

She moved over and as lightly as she could, fell into his arms. Rose didn't like the fact that it dented under them but again, this was much safer than being mauled by the walkers below. She looked to the horizon and shivered, the sun was almost gone behind the buildings. She made sure to stay behind him as they moved quickly, the moving about naturally warming her up as well. She had been afraid of frostbite taking a few of her toes.

She wiggled them to make sure. Thankfully they were still there. "I can't thank you enough for this." She told Victor softly.

Alice raced to catch up to Conner, hopping another rooftop and rolling better as she landed. It was clearly getting darker and harder to see. The roofs were getting slippery with all the snow that fell. Running and leaping required a bit more control.

Alice followed Conner to his camp, thankful that she wouldn't have to spend another night alone.

"Are there others with you?" she asked.

Conner kept an eye on the horizon, glancing up every now and then. He noticed two figures jumping roofs in a slightly different direction than they were going. He wanted to call out to them, the more people the better, but couldn't risk more attention drawn this way in case there were walkers near the roof doors. Beside, night was falling fast and roof jumping was more dangerous when you can barely see especially with all the slick snow coating the ground.

Conner heard Alice speak and glanced at her yet continued to run and jump. After landing, he stayed near the edge just in case she slipped. He had more experience, being very familiar with parkour and all, and didn't want to risk her life after saving it.

"There were..." The few with him had risked their lives to save his, claiming that they were too old and needed to protect the young and future of humanity. They were only in their late thirties...

Alice continued following Conner as the sky grew darker. Her breathing was heavy and her footing was getting more awkward with every step. The rooftops were blanketed with ice and the blanket kept getting thicker. She did her best to control her steps, channeling them against the direction of each slip. Thus far, she hadn't fallen. But she was always a little too lucky throughout her life. She was bound to slip.

Their hurried steps were a bit louder than they wanted. A roof door squeaked open and walkers spilled out of it, groaning in their direction. Alice turned her head and saw them--at least a dozen. All of them covered in icy blood, all of them starving for fresh flesh.

"Conner, there's walk--"

Alice slipped on the ice. "Gnh!" She fumbled to get back up, somehow gathering control of her footing enough to do so successfully. She lost distance between herself and Conner and the walkers were gaining on her.

Conner heard the squeak then Alice's voice, sliding to a stop. He cursed under his breath, seeing Alice slip a little and the walkers coming out of the roof's entrance. Why the fuck did he leave his crossbow at the base, again? He questioned his own stupidity at leaving his weapon behind.

Conner looked around for any sort of object he could use as a weapon; it'd take too long to search his backpack for one. He grabbed a loose pipe and pulled until it gave. "Just keep running and jump to the next one!"

The male readied his makeshift weapon, prepared to protect this girl.

Alice had a bit of a limp now--she'd hurt her ankle. She kept running anyway; running through the pain and the sting in her ankle. She was running and moving so hard that it felt like she was inhaling the same thick ice that was on the ground. She kept looking ahead, refusing to give up like she was so willing to do back in the alley. She watched her red-haired savior running in front of her, acting as a beacon for hope of surviving this world after all. She followed and even gained some distance on the walkers ready to devour her in the middle of her next mistake.

Finally, the edge of the roof came up--Alice had to get enough speed to make it across without falling to the ground. She pushed through the agony in her ankle, putting more pressure on it to make the jump. She pushed off the edge with her hurt ankle, flying again, and barely getting making it. She turned, watching the walkers stumble right off the roof she just leapt from. Thank God.

Conner pierced through some of the walkers' head that got too close to Alice. He shoved the recently dead ones back into the others, hoping to slow them down- if only just a hair.

The red head quickly shoved the pipe in between his back and back pack and lunged to the next roof. He didn't have a running start this time and was only able to grab onto the edge, hanging from the side of the building. He groaned as he tried to pull himself up, it shouldn't be this hard. He looked down to find that a walker actually grabbed onto his ankle right as he jumped, dangling and snapping visible jaws as it tried to lift itself and sink it's teeth into Conner's leg.

Conner tried not to scream and proceeded to shake his leg that it had a hold on and kick at it's head with his free one. He thanked the gods for his combat boots once the dead thing let go of him and he finally lifted himself up. He sat down beside Alice, calming his breath as he about had a panic attack.

He raised his hazel eyes to look up at Alice, panting. "You..okay?" He knew they didn't have the time for this but they were near his base and he wanted to make sure Alice wasn't seriously injured.

Victor caught rose and set her down softly next to him before leading her to the other side of the vent and then running up a wall to get to the next rooftop. He turned around and laid on his stomach letting his hands hang down so he could help her up. As he turned around, he noticed two other figures on rooftops a bit off in the distance. He thought about calling out to them, but decided not to seeing as the walkers were already worked up. "Come on not too much further." He said to Rose as he led her to the side of the building and slid down a pipe onto a lower portion of the roof. He looked down on the side of the building opposite of the one he came from and found that there weren't many walkers on this side. "Come on, stay quiet. We don't want to bring anymore attention to ourselves over here. The base is just down the road" he said then dropped down onto a sidewalk then turning to catch Rose when she came down.

Alice panted in relief, no longer willing to go down without a fight like she was when Conner found her. I'm not dead just yet, she thought. The pain in her ankle worsened with the passing seconds--maybe it was broken. She finally acknowledged Conner's question after a long pause.

"My ankle. I think I fell on it wrong when I slipped on the ice back there. It hurts pretty bad," Alice said, wincing as she stood up so they could keep moving. She held out her hand to him to help him up.

"I can be in pain when we're in a safer place--right now, we're not safe. We need to move," Alice whispered. By that point, she could hear the groaning of walkers on the ground surrounding the building and was afraid of getting another surprise from a rooftop door.

"Hold on, two more roofs and a building and we should be there...." Conner answered back.

As he turned to her, he scooped up some of the icy snow instead of grabbing her hand, and held it to her swollen ankle. He hoped the ice would calm the swelling a bit and numb her pain.

"Better? It'd be easier to jump when you can't feel it..." His warm hazel eyes looked up at her in concern through his glasses.

He'd prefer her not to be on it at all as it could seriously damage her tendons or something, jumping and landing like they were, but they didn't have the luxury of taking a very long break and he wasn't confident enough in his own strength to carry her AND jump the way they were doing.

Alice jumped in surprise as Conner put some of the snow onto her ankle. Visibly swollen already? That can't be good.

She felt a strong chill run up her spine as he packed snow on her bare skin. It was already cold outside and snowing, the frozen water on her skin did no favors, but it had to be done if she wanted to live to fight another day. She almost didn't live to see the current day. She almost gave up.

"Mm," Alice said, nodding her head, "it's getting numb already." That was true. Half true at least. It was starting to numb but not enough for it not to hurt when they started moving again.

The red head nodded and stood, not exactly believing that her ankle was completely numb already but he knew they didn't have the time. He'd take better care of it once they reached his base. Almost there. He grabbed her hand and squeezed it lightly in reassurance and understanding then let go.

"Come on, then." He whispered then launched himself into a run, jumping to the next roof and rolling as he landed.

He popped back up onto his feet and made his way to the edge, laying there with his arms dangling from the edge just in case. He made a point not to look down.

Alice nodded and ran after him, wincing at the pain but pushing through it anyway--this was no time for a broken ankle! She hobbled forward, picking up as much speed as she could and leapt to the next building, Conner right there in case she fell short. She didn't. She rolled into her landing with more grace than she did without a broken ankle, somehow choosing to put the pain aside for later.

We're almost there, we're almost there, we're almost there, she thought. Almost to safety, almost to a place she can rest her head in actual peace.

Alice followed as they hopped the last building.

Conner sighed in relief and got up, running after her to the next roof. He rolled at his landing and popped back up, continuing his run yet the building ahead of them was taller than the ones they've been jumping.

The red head pulled out the pipe just in case as he jumped through an already broken window into the building. He rolled like usual yet stayed crouched. He listened for any signs of the walkers- sounds of movement or groans.

After a few minutes of silence, he stood and turned back to the window, gesturing for Alice to follow. This wasn't his base, but they had to pass through here to get to it.

Alice gripped her knife firmly as Conner listened for walkers, all the while her ankle felt like it was on fire. She did her best to keep quiet despite the pain. The snow half-numbed her ankle at best, but as the snow disappeared when she ran, the pain came back with a vengeance.

Alice followed Conner once he gave the OK.

"How much further?" she whispered to him, trying to be as quiet as possible.

"It's the next building over but we gotta climb a few flights of stairs.." He answered, speaking in a normal tone. "If there are no walkers here then there won't be any in the levels above." He smiled a bit to emphasize his confidence in his statement. And he was 100% sure of this.

Conner took off his backpack and held it out for her to wear, keeping the pipe. After she put it on, he turned and crouched, his back facing her.

"Get on, I can carry you the rest of the way." He glanced back at her, the pipe held with both hands- one on each side- like a sort of chair for her to sit on. He planned on carrying her up the few flights of stairs and give her ankle a rest. They were literally next door to his hideout.

Vivien winced while she climbed the emergency stairs as she heard a gunshot. It didn't appear to be very far from her. She dusted herself as she finished her climb to the rooftop of the electronic store she had chosen to hide away for the night.
'I hope that didn't attract any attention towards here....' She mumbled as she started to make camp, setting a series of alarms that would wake her in the event a walker managed to reach the stairs.
'Lily, I wish you were here still, I'm so terribly lonely' Vivien muttered to herself, taking out a blanket out of her pack and wrapping it around her body.
She settled into a sitting position, her back supported by the door towards the interior of the building. The cold was getting worse, she would need to find a place to stay for the winter very soon, or risk hypothermia.
'I will settle for four walls and a roof, really' She spat out, preparing for a long night.
