Just how far is it in Canada? I can understand copying us as we do have allot of good ideas (Someone once told me that Canada became the America that Americans wants it to be) But would Canada truly go as far as adopting stupid ideas? Sure things trickles over, but even those must have a road block unless its something people actually like.
Not as far as some people here might be getting the impression of me saying.
We don't exactly have people marching around declaring "One Nation under God! I love my Guns! Immigrants are Evil!" mentality.
Though we do (at least my province Ontario, which is where most Americans will end up going if moving to Canada) still have Catholic favouritism.
As in, even though legally preference of religion in schools is illegal, Catholic schools are still everywhere. Ontario just pays a fine every year to keep it around.
We are currently dealing with a Prime Minister who decided new Jet's were somehow more important than the education of our people.
Then there's the Trade concerns Brovo brought up.
Now, I'm not saying Canada is USA 0.5 or anything.
But we are more influenced by them than most other countries would be.
So if one's goal is "I'm leaving American crap!", why would they choose the country that's the most influenced out of almost all their options?
It's almost as if (assuming family connections weren't a concern) the person went "I want to leave! Eh... But I don't want to go far, so I'll go drive *just* across the border".
If you're going through the effort of immigration for such a reason, just go all the way and go somewhere not so reliant as the place you're trying to avoid.
