As the voices talked to the marines on the board, Okami kept himself focused in his mission. These were the mighty and feared creatures of the sea, known because of their extreme beauty and ability to enchant any man on any ship just to then drown them in the dark and deep corners of the colossal mass of water called "Sea".

Okami walked toward the edge of the deck, right on the side of the sirens to see if the legends were true; He stared for a moment the beautiful creatures calling for the crew members to their unavoidable end. "Now...It's time...to start our task", Okami thought as he moved his back and moved himself to the center of the deck; "LISTEN UP! DON'T HEAR THE SIRENS! THE TIME FOR OUR TASK HAS COME AND I'M NOT GOING TO LET ANYONE DIE WITH OUR FIRST ENEMY!", he yelled at the marines and the crew trying to inspire them in some way, but his main objective was to make them sure of something, the mission will be accomplished... at any cost.

He walked toward the helm where the captain was located, "We must act carefully, these creatures may take control of almost if not any of us", he said to the captain with a muted but still dominant tone.

The captain looked at Okami. "Well, I'm afraid your mistaken laddie. These aren't any Siren...No. These are mermaids! If they were Siren's they'd be singing and we'd already be wrecked. No, these be the mermaids who...wait." The Captain's eyes went wide. "EVERYONE AWAY FROM THE SIDES!"

With that, the mermaids began throwing out whips of tightly woven kelp, grabbing one sailor by theneck and pulling him into the water. Not long after, the water below turned red.

Dale jumped back from the sides as he was told. He had heard of these creatures from his father and had read a lot about them. Though there was never any information about how to get past them. It was all so chaotic, though, once the action had started. After the, vampire thing, had attacked, the ship seemed to have been on high alert and suspicious of not only the seas but the creatures on board as well. And now mermaids. Pulling out a small pistol from his side, the boy disregarded the fear in the pit of his stomach and took aim at one of the mermaids, ready to pull the trigger once the shot was clear.

REngi squeaked, stepping away from where she was standing and staring at the kelp being flung through the air to coil around the sailors. Huffing slightly, she pulled out her pole and placed a hand on one end, as if to unsheathe a blade. The metal glowed dully as she pulled away the metal casing, revealing, well, a cutlass. The sheathing in her left hand had reformed into a small knife. The red-haired girl grinned, beginning to cut away any of the vine like kelp that dared to pass her.

((Well this got moving quickly all of the sudden))

The ropes of kelp quickly lashed forward on the deck, trying to grab anything unlucky enough to get caught in the grasp of the mermaid's whips. Alarm and panic started to run through the crew of the ship as ever sailor on board was unsheathing their swords to combat the sea assassins, or getting out of the way to find were they put their weapons. As another wave of kelp whip lashed out to the crew, one whip wrapped around another sailor's legs. The whip pulled the sailor's footing out from under him and he was quickly being pulled towards the gap in the ship's railing. He screamed for help as he desperately clawed at the deck of the ship hoping for someone to help him or that he might dig in the planks of the ship's deck, but the man's fate appeared to be sealed. That was until a mere 5 inches between the sailor foot and the gap in the railing the whip was cut by a singled dropping slash of a giant cleaver.

Varsh had severed the kelp whip, saving the sailors life. The anonymous sailor stammered to blurt out a thank you as he removed what little of the whip remained on his leg. Varsh just snarled."Thank me when the fight with these guppies are over. Now get up and get your sword, lest you want all of us to be fish food before our journey has even started!" The sailor nodded as he stumbled to his feet. "Finally a chance for some loosen up a bit! Come on you sea guppies! Show your faces so I may take pride in ending your pitiful lives as less than criminal scum!" the lizard-man taunted at the mermaids. In retaliation, two more whips lashed out from the main deck's port side. Varsh dodged one leaning his body to the left and cut the other with another mighty swing from his cleavers.

((Just for some ambiance and motivation
))

Darcia eyes shot open. She could feel the sea and the wind told her something was wrong as she opened her eyes to take a look she saw part of the crew being panicked about mermaids. Darcia had seen them before, her former captain almost fall for their sneaky tricks. Darcia jumped down as she landed on the edge of the ship. Glaring on the creatures inside the waters. She didn't want to be but she had to, taking a deep breath she she spoke some words as shadows surrounded her and spread over the waters. Lifting her hand up taking a hand full of mermaids out of the water before smashing them across the sea.

Alexander had came back on deck after he had put the girl to rest while he had out a medicine on her neck for the wound. Looking over he could see mermaids fly across and being fought with. Mermaids could control people if they were really advanced Alex knew this. Popping out to earplugs and putting them he quickly took out his royal sword as he joined the battle.

Estuary looked up from the water while she was bound on a rusty chain from an old ship. If only she could help, if only she could scream to let them know she was down in the water. Cursing her stupidity for going out on her own. You see the mermaids that were attacking the ship, and her captured her swimming on their territory, were banned from Atlantic. Estuary was captured since she was part of Atlantic, passing through their territory and they could use her to take revenge on Atlantic. If only she could get free and help..

As the whips hit the board of the ship trying to get to any close sailor, Okami saw how the sailors were being besieged by all the ropes in the air coming out from the water, "Tsch...We must counter, this can't be just us dying", he thought. In that moment Okami decided to take action, his daggers were short so a hand to hand combat is impossible, he doesn't have any kind of long ranged weapon in his sight, then he realized his options, one was almost suicide, but it was the fastest one, "It's too risky...I'm going to take the other way", he thought as he walked toward the deck.

Already in the middle of the deck, Okami closed his eyes to focus all his energy in his other senses, this allowed him to have a sharper hearing and smell, suddenly, from the east side of the ship a wet and solid whip headed toward Okami's location, he heard the sound of the weapon cutting the air; he opened his eyes and with a wild and fast move he gave a 180 grades whirl, a sole move of his hand was enough to catch the whip, "Ha, I got you", he muttered to himself as he used his over human strength to pull the mermaid wielding the whip out of the water, the mermaid was almost like flying because of the force, in the moment she fell Okami was already under the mermaid's body, waiting with his dagger in his hand for his victim to fell right on his blade just to see her blood moving down through his hand. The lifeless body laid on the board of ship covering the deck with the beautiful and characteristic red (?) tone.

Okami didn't loose time watching the floor and moved forward, he moved down the deck where an amount of cannonballs were saved, he took two of them, a chain and a bag of gunpowder; he had a plan, it was a bit crazy and almost suicide, but it was going to effective for sure.

The lashing of the sea weed whips began to irritate the Lizard warrior. Of course the mermaids where not going to show themselves and surge out of the water, not when its much safer and equally as effective to just wrap up and pull in there prey like a bunch monstrous fishermen. "Fishermen....fishermen...fishing....I got an idea!" Varsh exclaimed. He put is him arm out over the side the ship like bait, hoping to that one of the mermaids would try to wrap it. No surprise, one mermaid took Varsh up on his bait plan and wrapped up his arm in the kelp. The mermaid tried to pull Varsh in the sea, but the lizardman's inhuman strength was enough to keep the mermaid pulling him. In fact, the hunter had became the hunted in this situation as Varsh pull up on the kelp line, trying to bring the mermaid above the water. "HAHAHA! It like fishing in the swamps back home, expect the fish back there knew how to put up a fight!" Grasping hold of the kelp fishing line with his freehand, Varsh pulled up with all of his strength to eventually pull out the mermaid attached to the other end. The mermaid was in disbelief at the what she had tried to pull in, but that quickly turned into terror as Varsh heaved the still attached mermaid on to the deck with one giants swing onto the deck of the ship. An audible banshee's wail of a scream was heard as the mermaid was lifted and into the air and almost quickly as silenced as the sea assassin hit the deck with the sounds of crunching bones and mangled flesh.

The mermaids were not giving up. Evermore kelp whips lurched over the side of the ship. But suddenly...a scream from the water and effervescent wails came out of the water. The shadows of the mermaids could be seen fleeing the area around the ship. Something was wrong.

From the Serpent, a large wave could be seen coming. It appeared to be a rogue wave...without a storm? Suddenly, the truth was evident, and it was much worse than a rogue wave. A large, cylindrical, purple creature emerged from the side of the wave. The cylinder opened in four parts to reveal the huge, toothy mouth of a new creature. It was one of the high-bounty monsters. It was Tlanusi! The Giant Leech!
[All characters beware, not being careful around Tlanusi (Or any other high-bounty monster)(Whom I will be controlling directly) could result in an important person, or NPC's, death.]

Because of the wave Darcia quickly left the boat and entered the sky. Her big scythe in her hand waiting for the beast or her crew members to make a move. She knew she couldn't take the beast on her own.

Alex's blade quickly sliced into a last mermaid body as the wave came around. This was it, this was what he was trained for. The winged creates had already taken advantage and went into the sky. Alex himself waited for the right time while his guard wasn't let down.

Estaury stuggled to get free. Before the wave had come up to the surface she had heard the Tlanusi making his way up. Estaury panicked she was bleeding and wounded, this ment she would be an easy prey. To her suprise however one of the outcast mermaid, who was trying to get people of the ship with kelp had wrapped part around Estuary to gain weight but instead she was being pulled, causing Estuary to be dragged along and be freed from the old chain. Estuary fell on the deck next to the killed outcasts who toke her with her. And next to lizardman. She had been saved. "Thank you" she whispered.

Rengi whistled, blocking the sun with her dagger hand. "Woah, that thing is big. Really, big," she mumbled, a grin plastered on her face. This was extremely fun. "Alrigthy then, what to do first..."

'What the hell is that thing?' Dale thought, taking a step back to see the... Thing, clearer. Another of his nightmares come to life? He hoped not. Turning, he began to climb up a rope, trying to get a better angle to shoot the damn thing with.

Scottie was terrified. He had been edgy and nervous ever since the Serpent left the dock. The journey had been going smoothly for a while and the harpy had ceased to flinch at every sound. However, the young male went stiff from pure fear as the mermaids attacked the ship. They were beautiful, Scottie had to admit that, but his sheer terror towards the sea prevented him from even thinking about 'joining them'.

Shaking slightly, the harpy peered from the safety of the crow's nest as the sea weed whips lashed onto the deck, pulling men into their watery graves. The rest of the crew was fighting the mermaids off, Darcia had been quick to abandon the crow's nest as well, but the winged male was too scared to move. He wanted to help, he really did, but his body simply refused to obey him. It was like he was frozen.

When the mermaids fled, Scottie breathed in relief but he had a very bad feeling nonetheless. Even his brain, muddled with terror, could comprehend what could drive a monster away. A bigger monster.

His fear was confirmed when a quite big wave revealed a gruesome purple creature with sharp teeth. Lots of very sharp teeth. Scottie hugged his torso with his wings as he shook with his wide, fear stricken eyes fixed on the monster.

He seriously regretted walking onto the Serpent at that moment.

Darcia saw the Scottie being frozen with fear in the corner of her eyes. Darcia felt the need to protect the male, her instinct had let her away from the crow's nest now they were bringing her back. She wasn't planing on letting anyone get an horrible death, after all they were crew members. Darcia lowered herself down to the crow's nest, her eyes never leaving the monster. Darcia knew what it was like to be afraid. Even if she wasn't as scared of the monsters as Scottie was, she as well could feel a slight amount of fear taking over. She had fought with sea creatures before whenever she and her old captain would go out. However those were monsters no bigger then mermaids. "Sorry for leaving ya, don't worry I'll protect ya." the hybrid said as she pointed her scythe forward, ready to take on the monster.

Tlanusi roared. It sounded similar to the shriek of a stampedeing elephant, combined with the gross squishing and squirming of stepping on a pile of worms. The creature dove beneath the waves and re-emerged on the opposite side of the Serpent. It's head bobbed up near the railing. Slowly rising, the creature, it's mouth closed, looked around the deck with it's eyeless face. Everyone was silent, but when the creature came close to onecrew member, he whimpered and started backing away. That triggered it. In an insant the creature opened its jaws and grabbed the man. Throwing him up into the air behind it. The man screamed as he fell into the water. This was procceded by Tlanusi grabbing two more men and throwing them in near the first. Sudddenly, the beast disappeared into the water. One of th men howled in pain, as his leg was torn off when he was thrown. Then, as one man swam towards the boat, he screamed, and was pulled at high speed underwater. The other two paniced and made a mad dash for the boat.

This was just getting better and better. After the girl who had been holding the seal fainted and the beast was subsequently put in a cage she found that her healers ward was getting a little to crowded a little to quickly for her liking. The girl herself had been quickly rushed into the room by one of the men, and seeing that she had been not hurt very much the designated healer was quite happy with just letting the man patch the girl up, although not entirely pleased with the fact that . At least it had meant that she could spend some quiet moments unpacking and getting all of her clothes, weapons, and tools in the proper order. Although that peace seemed destined not to last very long.

Absorbed in her own thoughts Reneth missed the initial contact, honestly for a few moments she assumed it was a few of the crew getting a bit to friendly, at least until she heard the screams. Dropping the book that she had been absorbed in since the boat had departed from shore she left her room and headed directly to the trap door within the infirmary. For a brief second she was very confused as to what was going on, until a net sailed overhead and she had to duck down to avoid being dragged off the boat by her neck. For a few moments she considered ducking back below deck however at that moment a sailor was dragged across her line of sight and she had to make a flying grab for his foot. Drawing the dagger from her hip she sliced the whip free and helped him get to somewhere out of the way so that he could cough the air back into his lungs.

For now it seemed that the heavier crew members were holding their own against onslaught so Reneth was content with hanging back, occasionally dodging attacks or pulling injured crew members out of the way so they could take a few moments to catch their breath. The screams were bad but the sudden silence was even worse. And she saw the wave bulging up to meet them and she gave a heavy sigh. With quick steps she trotted towards the mast, trying to get a clear view of the monster that was closing fast. However once there she stopped and bent down to unlock the cage where the seal was kept.

"Not going to make you go down with the ship as well." She said softly before looking up to watch as the hideous monster rose level with the deck. The men were snatched in a blink of an before anyone could react they hit the water. Running to the railing Reneth turned and yelled to the rest of the crew.

"GET SOME ROPES PULL THEM UP BEFORE IT COMES BACK"

To his suprise, the mermaid that Varsh had pulled up was not hurt or aggressive. Far from it in fact, she seemed thankful that she was pulled out of the water when she did. Understandbly, the lizard man was confused. "Uh...your welcome?" he said looking at the mermaid with a cocked brow, looking to see if the mermaid hurt her head "You didn't-" Varsh was cut off by the a sudden rogue wave that hit the ship...but it was no rouge wave. A giant creature surged out of the water, a creature of many colors and even more teeth. If the creature wasn't so colossal, Varsh would have said it reminded him of leeches that inhabited the swamps back home. Everyone watched in terror as a casually grabbed and threw 3 of the crew out into open water, no doubt to make it easier to eat the helpless sailors. Varsh snapped out of his dumbfounded fear with the death scream of the first sailor being pulled under, but the other crew was still in shock at the monstrous sight. "LOAD THE CANNONS! GET THOSE OVERBOARD SAILORS BACK ON DECK!" he yelled as Varsh grabbed one of the rope ladder and rolled it down the side of the Serpent. "Don't just STAND THERE!"

As the creature pulled the men down, Okami heard the screams coming from out of the ship. He immediately took the resources for his plan and ran up to the deck. In that exact instant he saw it... the big and almost legendary Tlanusi, as he saw all the sailors almost paralyzed of fear he went with the captain to inform him of his plan, he was going to need help, this isn't something that only one man can do.

"Captain, I have an idea to end with that thing... I'll need three small boats, (Like those small live saver/emergency boats) two men with no fear and three barrels of gunpowder"

Grunting in pain Estuary sat straight up seeing the Tlanusi throwing crew members off. While pressing a hand on the cut one of the outcast had placed on her she reached out with her outer arm for some of the kelp laying on the deck. Quickly she wrapped it around her wound as she let out a slight scream of pain when it came in contact with her flesh. Dragging herself over to the edge of the boat, which took a slight time since her sword, and magic amulet to turn her fin into legs were still in the hands of the outcasts. She finally threw herself into the water as she went towards the sailors who got thrown over. Grabbing them and bringing them back towards the ship with a speed a little slower then her average swimming. She knew this was suicide since the Tlanusi reacted on the smell of blood, multiple mermaids had been wiped out of the sea by this beast. But they saved her from the outcast, she had to help.

The Captain listened to Okami. "Yes, do it! The whaleing boats are down one deck, haul them out. Take whoever you need, I need to get these cannons ready!"

With that. Tlanusi swam through the water at high speed. It circled one sailor who had not been grabbed by Estuary yet. Then, in a strangely clever action, the creature opened it's mouth and began...sucking. It created a powerful current sucking down the sailor..and anything else close to him.

Okami heard the captain approbation and gave a little smile, "Perfect", he muttered.

Immediately he ran down the deck and took the necessary resources, "I need two of you... Now", he said to the sailors down the deck with a dominant tone. "K I go", said one of them, he was clearly scared, but disposed to do it, "Good, I need you to put a barrel of gunpowder in each of these three whaling boats". Okami ran to the upper part of the ship and yelled "I NEED A FEARLESS ONE NOW".

That was what he needed. That was exactly what Harpy, third of the elder vampire lords, needed.

Every vampire has its specific strength and weaknesses. Harpy's centered around his ability to circumvent a threshold; the ability to bypass invitation to get into private property, be it house or inn or boat. On the flipside, the experience left him feral and wild and weak, with flickers of sanity the most he could have managed, and he had to hibernate frequently.

But Reneth had given him the one thing he needed: an invitation. She was not the owner of the vessel, but the symbolic gesture, the opening of a door into the inside, was enough for it to come to pass. For the moment, anyway.

Harpy Mclubby was free. The walking cane returned, the tophat materialized on his seal head out of thin air, the monocle grew out of his black seal eyes. He stood upright now, and took a step out of the cage. The garlic sizzled underneath his skin as he took his first few uneasy steps in a long time, but he was free.

"I thank you, blood harlot." he said. "Whore as you may be, I do owe you this debt." And then Harpy shriek, a bloodcurling black sound that tore into the hearts and minds of the living, and then he exploded into a shower of a ethereal fish. The shower found its shape, convalescing into a swarm, and it raced towards the sea monster. It struck it in the what could have been the snout of the leech, a force that sent the sea monster reeling for a brief moment, its toothy maw opened in pain. Its sucking ceased. The sailor was saved. Then the swarm it struck it again and again and again, the ghost fishes tearing off little chunks of flesh here and there, and giving the monster its due.

It wasn't anything close to a killing blow, but it was something. The creature was distracted.
