I would just like to point out that I know almost nothing about the subject therefor I have no opinion on the matter. I would also like to sya how respectful everyone is on this sight. OH we have a disagreement? Lets handle it in a peaceful manner then give each other likes when we are done. I never see anyone fight on this site, or if I do it is more sarcasm and jokes then anything else. ITS STRANGE.

You should have been there for the RACKS vs dicks war

So I heard some people want info on a certain IC...

  • Operation Codename: "Awakening"

    Zone: East End.
    Type: Assassination/Document Acquisition.

An informant within the Blood Bank corporation has alerted us to a potential threat from their main laboratory. Apparently, it's the kind of grotesque, inhuman thing that could drive public opinion to our side if we got our hands on it. Before we can plan a way into the facility however we need access to blueprints of the facility and knowledge of any security measures they have in place. The lead director of the science division, Aleksander Konsveka, is going to be partying at a night club on the east side. He is going to generously donate his laptop to us, one that will be kept in a back room of the night club in a bulletproof suitcase.

Naturally, a chance to remove a Konsveka from power is also tantalizing.

The Sanguine Capitol is as of yet unaware of our true strength as a rebel cell. After this operation, it will be very clear to them what kind of threat we possess to the heart of the Sanguine State.

There will be two deployment options for everyone here. You can proactively infiltrate the nightclub as an upper class member of society--it isn't particularly difficult for us to acquire you fake ID's and appropriate garments. The other is to ride in the back of a retrofitted bank truck, which we'll use to blow through the front doors of the nightclub. We need the publicity, and we need to send a wake-up call to the rich bastards who seem content with the impoverished vanishing off the streets: Collaborators will not be spared the wrath of God.

Good luck, everyone. Operation starts in five hours. --Rolland Alaszar.
  • A few Vampire Enforcers, several bodyguards (local forces--not military police!), Aleksander Konsveka.

    Name: Aleksander Konsveka.
Age: ? (Guestimate: Turned into a vampire in his 50's, so likely around 80-90 years old.)
    Sex: Male.
Appearance: Described as tall and handsome, often found in expensive suits and ties. Intel is aware that he keeps a bulletproof vest on underneath his suit. He has a pair of red eyes thanks to contacts, and is one of the weakest members of the Konsveka family, having a lanky, almost sickly appearance underneath the suit.
History: Not much is known about Aleksander. He is part of the Konsveka family, an uncle of Anna Konsveka who is the wife of Carl Dua Konsveka. He became the head researcher for the Sanguine State. He's known as a rampaging egotist who looks down on human beings as nothing more than cattle for scientific experiments and slaughter. The media often portrays him as a misunderstood genius. Don't listen to the media: He kidnaps women from night clubs to engorge himself on their flesh. He's a wolf in sheep's clothing.
Crimes against Humanity: Mass genocide, kidnapping, ethnic cleansing, rape, high treason, jaywalking, kicking puppies, baking kittens.
Abilities: Vague. It's been reported that he's figured out advanced blood-related powers, and charms. Beware looking into his eyes!
  • Intel reports the following.

--There are four vampire enforcers protecting the laptop in a back room located down a flight of stairs into the basement. The door to the basement is guarded by a dozen bodyguards, who are sympathetic to the Rebellion. You will still need to convince them to let you pass. If you're especially charismatic, you might even be able to convince them to join you in the assault on the vampire enforcers. We need this laptop. If we fail to acquire it, life will get much harder for us.

--There are six vampire enforcers guarding Aleksander, who is sitting a few feet away from the DJ. They are all heavily armoured in riot gear. Taking them down won't be easy, though when the bank van hits, they can be caught off guard.

--Agents inside the night club won't be targeted by enemies until they either try to infiltrate a restricted area, or attack an enemy.

--While it would be nice to take Aleksander alive, he is a strong vampire in his own right and may attempt to escape the night club if given the chance. He will not surrender until he's been injured and all of his personal vampire enforcers are dead. There is no penalty for killing him to ensure he can't retreat to reinforce the main laboratory, which will be his main objective to protect should he survive and escape.

--The tightly packed crowds of civilians will present natural visual cover for vampires and humans. Lycanthropes as well, if they keep their heads down. This cover won't last for long after the initial conflict starts, but it's better than nothing. We would prefer to avoid civilian casualties, though due to the nature of this operation, some will be inevitable.

--The interior of the nightclub is divided into "combat zones" for your simplicity. The zones are as follows: Dance Floor, Staff Hall, Basement, Second Floor.
----Dance Floor: Large open area, there are a few columns decorated in a Greco-Latin fashion which are thick enough to provide solid cover, though they're several feet apart from one another. The DJ's desk is on an elevated platform and is surrounded by bulletproof, two feet high railings, and is a naturally defensible position for the vampire enforcers to move Aleksander should he not be taken out in the initial few seconds of shock.
----Staff Hall: Opposite the front entrance and large dance floor is a hallway behind a steel door. This steel door is unlocked and open normally, though bodyguards may attempt to lock it down when the fighting starts. There are several "private entertainment rooms" on either side of the hallway. At the end of the hallway is a wooden door, easily breachable. This door leads to a small storage room which, in turn, leads to the basement.
----Basement: Where excess electronics equipment is stored, mostly in the dark. The suitcase can be found on a simple aluminium desk. Expect to be ambushed here, vampire enforcers prefer to take prey by surprise.
----Second Floor: Our knowledge of this area is limited. We're aware that there is a spiral staircase in the dance floor area that leads to a walled off second floor, though it seems mostly to contain changing rooms and storage areas. The owner of the nightclub likely resides here. It may end up being a secondary point for Aleksander to retreat to in order to make a last stand should he feel unable to escape.

--Prior to this operation, there will be a factory bombing on the south end that will attract the attention of the military police. Thus, outside interference will be limited for this operation to unarmoured, under-trained police officers.

--If starting inside the night club, you can either disguise yourself as an invited guest or a bodyguard for one of the guests. Bodyguards are allowed to bring any equipment they wish with them except explosives, though are restricted to the dance floor and must keep several feet away from Aleksander and the DJ. "Invited Guests" may bring light munitions with them and nothing else, though can easily find themselves near the staff hall and easily able to infiltrate their way to the basement when the fighting starts. They're also allowed on the second floor. Our "bodyguards" may be mistaken for Rebels before they open fire when the fighting starts.

--If starting inside the bank vehicle, when it breaks through the wall, the back doors will swing open. The bank vehicle is heavily armoured, and can withstand even explosives. Take advantage of it as cover initially before moving out to the pillars in the Dance Floor area.

--The night club owner may try to call for the police. While police presence is limited, it may be advantageous to further delay police response by taking the club owner hostage or killing him. He may also be convinced to act in the best interests of the Rebellion, if a particularly charismatic person can talk to him. He will be located on the second floor near his office when the fighting starts.

--One could feasible blow a hole in the surrounding drywall of the second floor to fire down at the DJ booth on the dance floor with explosives, rendering the DJ booth's bulletproof cover moot...

--There may be a secret underground passageway to the sewers located somewhere inside the nightclub. Should everything go wrong and your escape vehicle (the bank vehicle) be destroyed, you may want to try searching for it. It's located either in the basement or beneath the DJ booth. We're unsure if Aleksander is aware of the secret tunnel, as it appears to be a drug runner passage.

IC will open Saturday.

CAn we plan what we want to do before actualy starting the IC?

That's the whole point of putting this info up, is so you can plan, with the other players. :bsmile:

two because the players seem like they'll get a bit too cocky and bite off more than they can chew.

As long as I don't get into a brawl with a lycanthrope I should be fiiiine.

When we make plans, Birov laughs and pulls a baneblade from behind a bar.

Well, Anya seems a pretty natural infiltrator, specifically mimicing a high-society member.

Nah, Brovo won't pull a Creed.

He'd pull out a WAAGH! from it.

So I'm thinking that the laptop should be what gets hit first. I assume that the Vamp Enforcers would either try to wipe the info from it, or just flat out destroy it if shit looks like it's going badly for them, so starting a brawl in the Dance Club first seems somewhat bad. Fighting the bodyguards outside will probably also result in the Enforcers taking action to ensure the Laptop doesn't fall into wrong hands, since I assume they know it contains highly sensitive information.

That basically means both strategies will need to be used. Infiltrators into the night club and then the armored truck to say, "Hello, Hello," once the laptop is taken care of.

Jeanne should probably (definitely) be part of the group that heads for the laptop for diplomacy purposes. I'd say Jonathan should lurk in the crowd near Aleksander since he's the only Lycan with Shredding Claws (unless I overlooked someone) that can easily deal with the Enforcer's Riot Gear.

Anastasiya being an invited guest would be convenient considering she has light munitions. Anyone want to collaborate on this scenario in particular? Being invited guests and finding ourselves at the staff hall, easily being able to infiltrate our way back to the basement.

I'm thinking my character should be an invited guest with the aim in mind to try to deal with the club owner. Gabriel's ruthless enough to kill the guy to prevent him from calling the cops, but only if diplomatic measures fail. It'd probably be a good idea to have at least one other person head up there with him in case of nasty surprises lurking about.

Doc might be up for the task, he would probably do best as an invited guest and at the very least I would expect him to hang back for a bit as things get exciting.

A clever human with some arms and nanites and a vamp with traits that would be useful for the task of securing the cooperation of the club owner (bats and blood as a means of distraction, charm if needed) seem like an adequate pair for the job.

That way the figthers, so to speak, can focus on fighting and the sneakier characters can hit the basement?

My own character would probably be best fit to be disguised as an invited guest's body guard or she can reside in the truck. She doesn't have the ability Shredding Claws so going anywhere near Aleksandr and the riot guards would be suicide. She does have Hungering Charge so she would be most useful in the roles I stated earlier. There doesn't seem to be many Lycan characters.

Considering Gabriel hates Vampires, that might not be the best of ideas. It'll probably be harder to convince the club owner if the two trying to do so already seem on edge with one another.

Granted, Doc could try to do so alone while Gabriel hangs back, but the presence of more people might help in convincing the owner.

I'd say she should probably go for the laptop then. With Hungering Charge in the close quarters, she'd probably be useful for taking out one of the four Vampire Enforcers out at the start.

I figure the team breakdown should probably look something like this.

Laptop Retrieval: Jeanne, Josephina, Terra, Gabriel, Anastasiya, Elisabeth, Abby, Terissa
Infiltration (Club Owner): Alexander, Doc, Anya,
Infiltration (Assault): Jonathan
Bank Truck (Hello, Hello): Karl, Mafuyu, Leonardo (Somehow get to the Second Floor and blow a hole to lob grenades please?)

Laptop Retrieval gets large numbers for quickly overwhelming the Enforcers protecting the laptop, securing it, and then providing back up for dealing with Aleksander.

I am sure both Doc and Gabe can be professional on the job, furthermore stacking charm and vamp charm seems like a good idea as there is no need to invite more enemies to the party.

Hrm, after looking at the groups suggested by Zombehs, maybe Gabriel on club owner duty isn't the best fit after all. He doesn't have the Diplomat trait (I forgot that one existed actually), so sending someone with that would be better. Three for that job might be overkill, but I suppose they shouldn't have much trouble getting down to the dance floor in a hurry so that could be fine.

Having Jonathan be the only one standing by to engage Aleksander immediately is probably a bad idea though. Ideally we should have at least 2 or 3 people ready to pounce once the bank vehicle hits to hopefully take out a couple of his bodyguard in those first few seconds, and unfortunately the lycan Shredding Claws won't be able to come into effect on the surprise attack due to the transformation time. Some people posing as bodyguards with heavy munitions on hand would be ideal for this, whereas for fighting purposes it would probably be better to have some lycans in the bank truck to be able to preemptively transform and then Hungering Charge into the fray. Jonathan might actually be best used this way even though he lacks Hungering Charge, because transforming out in the open with 6 Vampire Enforcers only temporarily distracted might end very badly.

Then for the basement and actual laptop retrieval, we absolutely want at least one human with the Diplomat trait to be present to hopefully get those human guards on our side. Fighting 4 Vampire Enforcers that'll be trying to ambush the group will probably suck enough without having to fight through a dozen humans first. If we're at least moderately sure of our chances to woo the human guards (or even half of them honestly), sending 8 people down after the laptop is a bit much. I'd say 6 should suffice, and the other two should be ready to pounce on Aleksander and his guards.

@Zombehs

agreed with Leonardo being in Bank Truck. In addition to securing the second floor with explosives, he could also secure everyone's escape -- while everyone else is making sure we get that laptop, he could set explosives near where the Vampires' vehicles would be or where they would likely exit to pursue us.

Once the Vampires try to give chase, BOOM, detonate them all and cause just that much more confusion.

Everyone with Heavy Munitions is part of the Bank Truck group I believe. I suppose Mafuyu could act as Jonathan or someone else's bodyguard, but Heavy Armor and Heavy Munitions is probably going to draw way too much attention. Karl is not really suited for being out in the open either.

The three were also sent up so that when the Bank Truck does arrive, hopefully Leonardo can get up there and blow a hole in the wall so they can provide fire from higher ground as well as better situational awareness.

Reason Jonathan is alone is because he can transform behind one of the pillars without any of the Enforcers noticing thanks to his custom trait. The sight of a Lycan transforming will probably frighten some people but I assume it'll be hard to notice, especially when a truck comes plowing through the wall moments later.

And while, yes going 1v6 is a horrible idea, he's more of an ambush waiting to happen. The moment Aleksander and his escorts are too distracted by Karl and Mafuyu firing the big guns, hopefully with some explosives, John's going to join the fray.

And given the Enforcers armor, I figured anyone with only Small Munitions would be better off helping finish off the four guarding the laptop. Two extra guns would put the four down all the faster and get all eight back up. Also, more people would probably help influence the bodyguards.
