It’s the perfect getaway, just the place you needed after it all snapped. You know, when the pressures of modernity kept piling on your back until reality seemed a bit off. Some arrive to the asylum on their own free will, some do not. Rest assured, all are satisfied in the end.[/BCOLOR]

[BCOLOR=transparent]The institution has a long and fascinating history to complement its elegance. It was built in the mid 19th century by a wealthy philanthropist, one who saw the dire need for adequate mental hospitals after the Civil War. The design was largely borrowed from numerous European castles, combining security with grace and luxury. Afterwards, the facility narrowed down its selection of patients to a very unique group. A strange phenomena had captured the full attention of the sanitarium’s directors. [/BCOLOR]

[BCOLOR=transparent]That phenomena was the imaginary friend. Of course, it was never unusual to see a child with one, but an increasingly large number of adults who had one found themselves living inside the asylum’s walls. Over the years, countless advancements in psychology were made in those very same walls. Treatment after treatment, the problem never seemed to fully go away. Nevertheless, the Lehane Sanitarium is proud to announce that it has finally developed a cure for this particular delusion. [/BCOLOR]

It provides excellent nutrition, exercise, and recreation to the patients who accept the ultimate treatment. Despite the unorthodox nature of this cure, it is a resounding success over any lesser therapy. The scale of what has been achieved here renders the lobotomy a mere footnote in science. The treatment developed here replaces the original mind of the patient with that of the imaginary friend. He sports both chocolate hair and eyes, with gentle features often adorned by a thick pair of glasses. Despite his helpfulness, he seems to have a certain obsession with her and her painting skills. He will get very angry when she refuses to teach him or others give her too much attention. He hates it when they see her art, and doesn't want her to have any other friends but him. He has very violent episodes that send Eden into panic as they frame Pamela's past behavior. He always makes it up to her however, Eden too lost in life to argue to try to face Adam's abusive attitude.​

– ▌❝ biography . ❏ Eden was born a big healthy baby one beautiful winter morning to Eve Keppler and Joshua Goch. Afterward, Eve was declared sterile. Eve and Joshua have been always trying for a child, failing much in the past. Eve's sterility meant nothing now as they finally had one beautiful baby girl. Eden was a bright girl who often loved her mother's art and her father's brimming love. Eden grew up smart and motivated by her parents, showing signs of a talent for art young. However, Eve one day fell awfully ill and was taken to the ER. There, worrying signs were shown and Eve was diagnosed with uterine cancer. Her uterus was removed, but unfortunately, the cancer had spread to other parts of her body. She passed away while in the hospital. Joshua sat next to five-year-old Eden while she was painting and carefully explained that her mother was in Heaven now. "Well she should come back soon," Eden replied sternly in her little voice, "She promised to make me chicken tenders for lunch." Eden's teenage life was a gray one. With a now silent, lonely home life, she dug her face into her studies and into art. She took any activity available to mask the untreatable throb in her chest. It didn't help that her Father grew incredibly distant after Eve's death. They haven't eaten together at the dinner table in years. Their relationship died along with Eve. The Mother was the light of the home. [spoili]They often took turns cooking, Eden and her father. Usually when one is too lazy or isn't able, takeout is the option. Not today, however. Today, when Eden went down to see the progress of dinner, her Father encountered her with a genuine smile and invited her to dinner at a restaurant. This boggled her mind. They haven't done anything like this, ever. This was the first step to their mending relationship, but Eden didn't know why exactly her father crawled out of his protective shell again, and again and again. Dinner time together, movies, picnics. She was thrilled life was good once again, even though she would do anything to have her mother back again. In the midst of a once again healthy home, she still couldn't decipher why her Father did such a one-eighty. She didn't know until she saw the fake smile Pamela gave her across the restaurant table. Eden one night was introduced to Pamela, the woman with red hair glued to the side of her Father the whole night. That's why her father was so happy all of a sudden. This... Strange woman was the source and not his own daughter. Pamela was a clingy, obsessive one who was down right infatuated with Joshua. It seemed over the course of events they did together with Pamela that she found Eden's presence to be more of a barrier. She spent most of her time draped over Joshua [who ate up the attention] than actually get to know Eden. Eden saw through their relationship the moment they met. Her father liked Pamela but was probably flattered with her more than anything. He sorted for her than any other good woman because Eve had passed away, he thought Pamela's behavior was normal because Eve was here no longer. Eden reasoned with him about Pamela but he was blinded by what he thought was love. They wedded quickly. Pamela as a stepmother was a silly, toxic woman. Pamela was discontent with living with Eden and having to be around her while she was with Joshua. Pamela only wanted time with Joshua and had a dislike that was mutual between her and Eden. Pamela was sensitive, insulting, gas-lighting, irresponsible, childish, and petty. There was often arguments and tension between the two for so long that the hate was barely contained. These weren't normal family fights and Pamela was growing tired of Eden being in the way. When Joshua would step in, the stepmother would run to him and fall in his arms, blaming Eden. Manipulating Joshua, he punished her wrongfully alongside with Pamela as she painted her as some problem child. Pamela only wanted her husband, not Eden. She wanted this girl out of the picture. And she knew just how. Pamela schemed a terrible awful, inhumane plan. A plan that didn’t occur to execute to the healthy mind. An infallible plan to make the seventeen-year-old Eden disappear, but to milk any advantages from her. She started with cleaning out the unused cellar, before learning how to weld. With some trips to the store, she was twirling four new keys on her finger and installed sound proof foam to the walls. Joshua wasn’t home that day, which was the perfect time to wrap the soaking cloth around Eden’s mouth and nose and hold her hard until she fell unconscious. Pamela worked quickly, throwing Eden’s body into the cold and dark cellar before chaining her to the floor. There she stripped her of all her clothes, destroying her phone. She transported her art supplies, two dog dishes, a candle, and a few rolls of toilet paper to accompany the downstairs bathroom. With a few slaps, she woke Eden, explaining that she would be staying here and making art. Whenever she finished a new piece was when she would be able to eat. “So work diligently, good girl.” She cackled and slammed the door shut to heavily muffle Eden’s screaming. The cellar was locked four times with a click, click, click, and click. Pamela tearfully told Joshua that night that Eden had run away after a huge fist fight with her. She was so enraged that she left after saying she’s never going to return. The stepmother was an awfully good liar, and Joshua believed her. He had the police involved, but the search was called off long after. It was like Eden had fallen off the face of the planet, even though she was constantly screaming for help underneath his feet. Joshua was riddled in sadness that he had lost his daughter as well as his wife, so he’d take days off, go on vacations with Pamela that she suddenly provided. Pamela’s routine was this, wake up late at night to go downstairs into the cellar. Retrieve any painting finished to sell, and throw cold leftovers into the doggy dish. Eden had tried attacking Pamela, screaming so maybe her dad could hear her, everything. None of them worked. Her resolve was diminishing quickly, as well as her strength. Eden was in the dark all the time. Her mental health deteriorated heavily as she could only use the candle to paint. She was cold and grew malnourished to the point that she could see her bones. She began to hear things, a soft male voice that would comfort her when crying on the floor and encourage her to paint even though she was so very weak and broken. Eden was filthy, shivering and always sick. She hasn’t bathed in forever. She grew weak to the point that she couldn’t paint anymore, to which Pamela stopped feeding her. Eden’s world was just pitch blackness and the hard concrete floor. Hunger and the voice were her only best friends. The only thing that kept her alive was the voice in her head and stray bugs that would scurry along every once in awhile. Hearing her Dad upstairs occasionally drove her to the edge, an edge she couldn’t act upon. [BCOLOR=transparent]This continued for four agonizing months. The chains on her legs and feet felt like her own skin. It was freezing in the winter [Pamela graced her with a shitty blanket for her first one], and cold in the spring. Sometimes the ceiling leaked. Sometimes bugs would swarm the cellar. Every day wasn’t measured, she didn’t know when it was nighttime or daytime, another day or another month. Once, she heard the joyful hollers of ‘Happy New Year!’ above, which drowned out her own sudden hysterical crying. [/BCOLOR]The voice became Adam, and Adam became a boy who was enthusiastic about painting. Eden wasn’t sure if he genuinely wanted her to paint because he wanted her to eat, or because he just liked to look at her paintings before Pamela whisked them away to sell underneath Joshua’s nose. The world turned without her, Pamela growing lenient with making sure Eden was where she belonged. Joshua was thinking about turning the cellar into a pool for the both of them, to which Pamela heavily declined. Due to her very strong opposition towards this, he gave up and just decided to accompany her to any other fancy pool that she suddenly had the currency for. He still wanted to turn the cellar into something for some good, however. He was planning to make it a theater or something else to entertain guests with. Ever since Eve died, the cellar went out of commission. He checked it out one day, heading down those creaking steps. He didn’t remember the cellar being locked four times over and had to remind himself to see if Pamela knew about the key's whereabouts. Eden wasn’t aware of any footsteps because she was sleeping at the time. One faithful day, Joshua was planning to head out. Pamela was at work and he was off. While he got ready, he noticed that the jewelry box Pamela never touched was open. His wife always locked her jewelry boxes. Joshua peered inside to find four old keys. Wondering what they opened, he picked through the possibilities as he examined them in his hand. He forgot to ask Pamela if she had the cellar keys somewhere and decided hey, he had time. They looked big enough to open the locks. Joshua, as he headed back downstairs, figured that trying it wouldn’t hurt. Shoving the keys in and turning them, he was surprised to find that the first lock opened. He opened the second, third, and finally the fourth before pushing it open. It smelled like death and was pitch black… He patted about on the wall for the light switch. Strangely, the usual one was gone. Joshua unlocked his phone before opting for his flashlight, the small beam of light landing right on Eden’s emotionless, dirty, half alive face. That facial expression stayed on her face for the first and last time Joshua saw her. - Joshua was sending a happy birthday letter to Eden, who was in Lehane many miles away. It became her birthday today, but he wouldn’t be able to call her for her twentieth because he had work. Pamela wouldn’t get the same treatment, as she was placed under heavy charges and was now serving life in prison. It was a normal occurrence for a while for people to come knocking on his door, asking for interviews of what happened. News told about the girl in the cellar, the girl forced to paint for food. In the week that Eden was rescued and in the hospital, she was diagnosed with a severe case of PTSD and a moderate binge-eating eating disorder. Joshua felt beyond guilty for what had happened, for what Pamela had done to her, but it was too late for Eden to heal with normal treatment. It wouldn’t take a scientist for one to see that Eden had drastically damaged, plagued by severe nightmares, severe anxiety, and her tendency to become unresponsive even while conscious. Eden would talk to herself, zone out or burst into hours of weeping and wailing. Joshua had her admitted into Lehane, a luxurious getaway that hopefully would bring his daughter back to him. Every expensive subtraction to his income reminded him that he had failed to protect his daughter. Only Eve can watch over her now. [/spoili]​

In reality, his father was a medic in Vietnam, something which pressured the young Gabriel into practicing medicine. He studied human anatomy and psychology in Berlin. During this time, however, he was contacted by the CIA to initiate the final stages of Project MKUltra. Although the program was officially disbanded years prior, Gabriel collected what data he could and made many 'improvements' to the ultimate design. He was given free reign to carry out experiments on mental patients for almost a decade.[/BCOLOR][/BCOLOR][/BCOLOR]

[BCOLOR=transparent][BCOLOR=transparent][BCOLOR=transparent]When several leaked documents revealed these tests to the public, Dr. Alenes was forced to resign from the CIA in disgrace. The knowledge he gained over the years, meanwhile, remained intact. To that extent, he had taken up a career in psychology to further his unethical studies on the mind. The CIA permitted this work to go on discreetly (even funding it on occasion). It was Gabriel who invented the Transcendence.[/BCOLOR][/BCOLOR][/BCOLOR]

At first, things seemed to be okay, Cary began to mirror his drunk father, and got progressively more violent. After several fights with his father, the physical side got worse and worse. His father took him to the doctor's, who thought he had anger problems and sectioned him for a short while. This is where he began to mirror his therapist.[/BCOLOR][/BCOLOR][/BCOLOR]
[BCOLOR=transparent][BCOLOR=transparent][BCOLOR=transparent]At 19, he finally was diagnosed with the rare mirror syndrome, and began taking his meds. His father wanted nothing to do with his "crippled and retarded" sons, and every time one of them tried to reason with him, it'd get physical. When he got there, Cary would continue to mimic other patients and doctors, getting himself into a lot of unnecessary fights.[/BCOLOR][/BCOLOR][/BCOLOR]

APPEARANCE: Alex's frame is small and thin, too thin for a normal person. It looks like she would brake easily since you can see some of her bones and her fingers are sickly thin. Her skin is a snow like color and has a small birthmark on her right hip. Alex's died orange hair is frail and reaches her chest. Most days she wears it down only putting it up on special occasions. She has thin pale pink lips, a button like nose, and a rounded face. Her eyes a doe like and a bright blue with darker blue flecks in it. Alex likes to wear sweaters and legging most days but, will wear dresses if theirs a special occasion.

MENTAL DISORDER:
- Bipolar Depression (Also called Manic Depression) - "The exact cause of bipolar disorder isn’t known, but a combination of genetics, environment, and altered brain structure and chemistry may play a role. Manic episodes may include symptoms such as high energy, reduced need for sleep, and loss of touch with reality. Depressive episodes may include symptoms such as low energy, low motivation, and loss of interest in daily activities. Mood episodes last days to months at a time and may also be associated with suicidal thoughts. Treatment is usually lifelong and often involves a combination of medications and psychotherapy."
- Anorexia (Also called Anorexia Nervosa) - "Anorexia is characterized by a distorted body image, with an unwarranted fear of being overweight. Symptoms include trying to maintain a below-normal weight through starvation or too much exercise."

BIOGRAPHY: Alex was born into a rich, perfect family. Well that's what everyone thought. In reality Alex's family wasn't perfect. It was full of lies and manipulation. As Alex grew she had to meet her parents standards and be better than her older brother and sister. When she turned 4 her mother began to abuse her, saying it was for her own good. No one in her family knew, they didn't even question her when she showed up with bruises. School was horrible for Alex. The other kids picked on her for coming from a richer family.

For year's Alex dealt with this ridicule, never really knowing what love was. Not once had anyone told her she was doing a good job or that they were proud of her. All she got was insults and beatings. Starting her 7th grade year Alex started starving herself. Her mother and fellow students seemed to always tell her she ate too much. So this was her only logical plan to stop those comments. This only made them change what they said. After a few months they started to say she was too skinny, but Alex had gotten into a habit of not eating. She no longer could hold enough food to be considered a meal in her stomach.

Her parents sent her to a mental hospital when she fell down from exhaustion on day. She spent 2 years going in and out of the mental hospital. When she finally went back to school it was she in the 9th grade year. She managed to make some friends but, with them came a new bad habit. They talked her into drinking with them once and from that time on she continued to drink till she threw up. Her parents were disgusted with her but, Alex didn't care.

It was around this time that Alex met Finch. In Alex's eye's he was the perfect guy. Smart, athletic, handsome, and, funny. Somehow they started dating. Alex was amazed that Finch asked her out. When they started dating Alex was the happiest she had ever been and Finch treated her like a god. They dated for 4 months not once kissing, hugging, or even holding hands. One day Alex found out why. She found Finch making out with a women. When she confronted Finch he didn't deny it. She just admitted he used Alex for her money. After a few more relationships ending the same she closed herself off and but a lock around her heart. She wanted to make sure she never got hurt again.

Alex continued on with her life, drinking himself away without a thought of what would happen. Well one day Alex collapsed in pain. Her parents quickly took her to the hospital, where the doctors examined her. They told her one of his kidneys failed her. Alex was in shock. The day she left the hospital she vowed to never drink again.

Now at age 18 she has been hospitalized again after she collapsed from exhaustion and blood loss. The doctors diagnosed her with bipolar depression and anorexia.

Apperence: TJ is a lanky gentleman, with a scraggily beard and wavy, chestnut brown hair. His eyes are startinngly dark brown, with his gaze quite piercing. He has a strong build with above average strength. He walks with a slight limp due to a childhood injury he never fully recovered from. He has a scar that runs down his right arm.

Personality & Backstory

Mental Disorder:

-Wendigo Psychosis: It is belived TJ suffers from a rare disorder known as Wendigo Psychosis, which means the indivual who has this disorder devoleps an unatural craving for human flesh.

BackStory: Timothy James Kowalski grew up in a remote farming community in Nothern Montana, not that far from the US-Canadien border. He lived on his farm with his mom, dad, older brother, younger brother and sister, and his uncle. It is belived, when he was a child, he suffered a sevre leg injury, either breaking his leg or completly tearing ligaments in his leg. Whatever it was, TJ never fully recovered from the injury, and walks with a permanent limp in his left leg.

Aside from having above average intellgiance, TJ was quiet, normally keeping to himself in school and social gatherings. It is belived he was bullied quite a bit as a child, and because of that, he is shows a great deal of contempt to others, particulary men around his age. Despite this, he graduated top of his class and had been accepted to Northwestern to study Psychlogy.

That was...until, the trip.

Shortly after he turned 20, his father Tim Sr., his older brother Wade and his uncle Matt decided to take TJ on their annual hunting trip, as a way to celebrate TJ's success. TJ accepted the invation, as he saw it as he last chance to bond with his family before he left for college.

However, shortly after departed their home, the truck they had been riding in broke down in the middle of nowhere. When their phones couldn't get any service, Matt and Tim Sr. left Wade and TJ to watch the truck while they looked for help....

They never came back

After four days on little food, and with no real prosects of being rescued. TJ killed and ate Wade, reasoning that Wade's death would insure his survival. It was about this time that TJ slowlly stared loseing his mind, the fact he did something utterly horrible seemed to not bother him.

He was commited to Lehane shortly after.

Personality: TJ tends to shy away from human contact, unless he is eating another human being. He has actually snapped s docors and nurses, trying to bite hunks off them. When he isn't trying to eat people, he is polite and subdued, mostly keeping to himself.

» biography : As a child Hiro rarely saw his father, who worked more then he slept, and was raised by his nannie and mother. However
whenever his father had a spare moment he would teach Hiro. About the company he would inherent and all the plans he had for it. Hiro strove to make his father proud and be perfect. He worked hard so when
he joined the company so he wouldn't disappoint. Slowly this started to get to Hiro. The sleepless nights left him paranoid and tired and he stopped eating. No one noticed.
That's when Michi came. Hiro believed Michi was the son of a business associate of his fathers and they became best friends. Michi didn't care for Hiro and often encouraged his sleepless nights. Though did remind him to eat
when he almost became sick. Hiro loved having someone pay attention to him as Michi inquired about his work. He knew Michi understood him more then anyone.
Hiro's mother began noticing his odd behavior and consulted his father. Worried for their son's mind they had him put into Lehane. He was 15.

Knowing he disappointed his father Hiro became depressed. He ignored Michi for months, now knowing he couldn't be real, and threw himself into getting better. But in the end the loneliness and all that was done to him got to him.
He slowly began to go insane. No longer striving to be perfect or get better Hiro instead sought to be content. He began talking to Michi again and grew uncaring of the pain inflicted on him and others. At some point he even became sadistic.
Egging the docter's on and getting other patients in trouble. Few were spared. Using his above average intelligence Hiro decided that the world was his chess board and he the one moving the pieces. He made himself a cozy life, as cozy as he could, in Lehane and sat back to watch the show.

» Personality : Hiro used to be an obedient boy, who would do anything to make his family proud. Even if that meant stressing himself until the point of sickness. However, he always contained intelligence far greater then many his age. One that made others call him 'genius' or 'special'. That didn't stop him from ignoring the obvious.

After Lehane, Hiro gave up on being perfect or pleasing others. He instead grew enjoyment from toying with others and being the one in control. To the point he gained a god complex. He became ruthless, sadistic, and rebellious. Choosing some to be his puppets or caste away. Surprisingly he still holds a kind heart toward some and is always ready to smile. Even if it's a malicious one. No longer obedient, Hiro became content in a way he never was. Listening to others scream.
