@Saralaxy particularly for you, sorry for the small delay.

But I will be getting the main thread up really either later today or tomorrow. Don't be confused when the older players are role-playing a different scene from any newcomers. They have a different starting location, but we will all be converging very soon. Anyone who is currently in prog with a sheet, don't feel rushed that you have to finish ASAP. Definitely, make a good effort towards finishing, but we won't move on until everyone who wants to join is accounted for. I simply want to get things moving for prior sign-ups since I already made them wait an extended period of time.

Character Information

Forename: Sergey
Surname: Ailein
Race: Synthi
Age: 24
Gender: Male

Appearance:

Personality: Serg like all Synthi is rather smart. He even has mostly good common sense. He does struggle when it comes to socializing though. He is very friendly and outgoing, he is just not very good at picking up on social cues. He could consider someone who hates him a good friend. At least until they reach the end of their rope and outright tell him they hate him. He is very blunt but rarely speaks before he thinks. He just happens to think that what he says is appropriate. He is very trusting of people, but also very vindictive. He was never really open about his feelings, but he was all to fine with cold revenge. Grudges would never be dropped until he felt equal again.

His desire to learn was insatiable, but that only applied to topics that interested him. He loved all things chemicals and potions. He really loved the ones that blew up most, but unfortunately those mostly only caused trouble. The self testing he performed with his potions has given him a rather strong constitution as well. That or something he drank actually helped him, but he never really gets sick.

History: Serg grew up in a rather ordinary Afevresi family. Most of the action turned out to be trouble and was mostly his fault. His little sister was practically an angel, but his parents were very adamant that they might kill him if he ever experimented on her. He knew that just meant severe punishment, but he never did let her get in danger. He never did care about his own well-being though. Exploration was much more important than health. Between the many potions he drank and explosions he caused, his parents wondered how he ever lived and came out normal. School was rather interesting for him. He did very well in Math, PE and especially Science, but subjects like History and Language couldn't bore him more. Despite getting grades lower than other Synthi kids in those classes, he tried to justify himself by saying he was still smarter than other schools. His parents were on him for a lot of things, but for good reason. Tranquilizing a bully and locking him in a closet probably wasn't a good solution to problems. He was popular in the neighborhood though. His tear gas concoction combined with his vile launcher(which is his pun for vial) made him a nearly unstoppable force in the neighborhood 'wars'.

By the time he finished high education, it was obvious what his passions were. He began to study underneath of two renowned masters in the area. The chemist Garen Lombardi and the pharmacist Sarah Krain. He enjoyed studying with Garen more, but he didn't dare miss a day with Sarah. She was very strict and he was terrified of what she would do to him if he got on her bad side. The chemistry he learned from Garen was more interesting, but it turned out he didn't deal with explosions much. Evidently creating acids and oils and pasteurizing foods was much more beneficial to the community. It only took him a few years to learn most of what Sarah and Garen could teach him. He was fortunate enough though to visit Dazkla and Nothalass with Sarah on her trips. Their Flora and Fauna were absolutely stunning. Sarah was there mostly to pick up different ingredients. Things ranging from a flowers nectar that acted as an amazingly powerful and safe tranquilizer, to dung that when processed could help lower blood pressure. Even a fishes poison that evidently increased a man's virility, but the science behind that one seemed skeptical. After seeing all this, he knew he had to explore the world. How many different things would he be able to discover and test?

There was no way he was going to be held back from attending Afevresi Institution's trial. He was pretty fit and should be able to keep up well. The school primarily focused in enhancing that area anyways and if he pushed himself to accomplish it without any enhancers then he would certainly be in fine shape when he moved to Pokos and was made an official Explorer of the Guild. His plan was foolproof, hopefully.

Age: 19
Gender: Male

Appearance:

Personality:
A beast, perhaps, but even animals have a strange sense of curiosity. Lu'pex, much like the cat, is extremely curious. Though not blessed with the great minds of the Synthi, Lu'pex is one of the more cerebral of his clan. One should not look into that much. There is still so much that Lu does not know, and unfortunately due to his natural hinderance, he may never learn as much as he wishes

In general, Braniath's facial shape is characterized by an angular and handsome, albeit somewhat rugged, quality. His cheekbones are perched high on his face, appearing quite defined since his cheek and jowl below are both rather slender. Lending to his air of tautness, Braniath's chin is rather 'V' shaped, ending in a well-chiseled point. Although he prefers to be clean-shaven, Braniath sometimes goes weeks, perhaps months, without shaving due to the solitary nature of his life. Of his individual features, his nose, while rather large and long, is sculpted enough that it does not appear excessive. Below this is a wide mouth with sufficiently full lips. His eyes above, which are spaced a considerable distance apart, are of a yellow-green coloration, tending to be quite mercurial depending on the lighting conditions. They are almond-shaped and slightly angled downwards, adding to the sense of sharpness and upward momentum that many find apparent in his facial structure.

Framing the emerald emanating from his eyes is a prominent, almost jutting, brow. Per the general theme of Braniath's appearance, his brows are quite angular, imbuing his expression with a shade of constant skepticism or disconcertment. His forehead is rather expansive, crowned by a prominent widow's peak and halo of ochre brown. His hair, which is medium length, is usually pulled into a messy half ponytail reaching to the point just above his shoulders. The individual strands themselves are thin so that Braniath's locks are quite wispy when he moves. Although he tries to contain the coif within the ponytail, the young man can often be seen exasperatedly combing stray hairs behind his conspicuous, pointed ears.

Standing 5'7" at full height, Braniath is a less than intimidating figure. His body tends to be rather lithe with well-defined musculature simply due to the lack of apparent body fat. His tanned skin would appear quite normal except for the strange floral patterns tracing up and down his arms, legs, chest, and back. At first glance, these aberrations, which mimic the form of leaves, vines, and various flowers, would appear to be some sort of tattoo or body marking. Upon closer inspection, however, one would see that they are slightly raised areas imbedded within Braniath's skin. This decorative network comprises the integument with the highest concentration of chloroplasts that enables Braniath to perform photosynthesis.

2637bsy.png
Considering the solitary nature of Braniath's lifestyle, one might be surprised to find that this young Fytáli man is quite adept in the art of speech craft. Sharp-witted, caustic, and somewhat cynical, Braniath would appear to most as an aloof individual. However, this disinterested nature should not be confused with an ignorance of all the nuance and subtlety inherent in social interaction. On the contrary, when he does deign to engage with those around him, Braniath exhibits a thorough understanding and keen perception of the mental goings-on of others. This is not any sort of arcane trickery, but rather a result of Braniath's hypersensitivity to the nonverbal cues of those around him.

As a Fytáli, Braniath's connection to the energy networks of living things is not limited to plant-based life. Obviously, higher forms of intelligence, such as humans and animals, are much more individually complex than the expansive energy networks of the forest. Nonetheless, they are intimately connected to the flow of energy within and around them, allowing Braniath subtle insights into the best ways to interact with each individual he comes across. This apparent connection to living beings would suggest that Braniath has an underlying warm or caring disposition, but that remains to be seen underneath a veil of studied indifference.

9770k0.png
Braniath was born under the dark canopies of Dázkla, raised with the typical customs of a Fytálian upbringing. As has been noted, the Fytáli differ from other races in that they lead largely solitary lives, only brought together by the suffering of the jungle. As such, family units often find themselves spread out over many acres of land. It is very typical for children to leave the company of their guardian for sojourns in which they learn the ways of the forest as well as how to tap into its vast reserves of energy. Gradually, the duration of these treks into the dense undergrowth grows as the child ages until, eventually, the child does not return. The common Fytálian term used to describe this journey that all young men and women must embark upon is known as "taurliná." Such is the story of Braniath. As the roleplay progresses, I will be releasing his history in episodic passages that recount the various taurlináe that he has experienced throughout his youth and adolescence.

Skills: Braniath has two main spells, one active and one passive.
  • Whispers from the Old Wood
    • Type: Active
    • Stamina Cost: 1
    • Status Effect: Poison
    • Additional Requirements: Must be on land and in an area with vegetation.
    • Description: The caster connects to the energy networks of the forest. This enables them to influence plant growth, which can be used mainly for defensive purposes (i.e. rooting attacking enemies). If the vegetation of the local area is poisonous, then the caster's spell becomes imbued with the "poison" status effect.
  • Keen Perception
    • Type: Passive
    • Stamina Cost: 0
    • Status Effect: None
    • Additional Requirements: Caster must not be suffering any status effects.
    • Description: Using the information delivered to the brain via neural connection to the energy networks of plant life in an area, the caster has a permanent 35% chance to predict the movements of his enemies and sense approaching life forms. In heavily developed environments, such as jungles, groves, and forests, this percentage is increased to 60%. However, in areas with low density of plant matter, deserts, tundra, etc., this chance is lowered to 10%.

Here are your points to allocate. While I have nothing wrong with the skills you have chosen, the number of skills you can have are based on your stat point allocation. 6 points in 1 stat allows you to have one skill of that type, aka 6 Force = 1 Force skill. Since your second one could pass as a mind skill, and the former being a spirit, this is possible as long as you allocate appropriately. Other than that, looks good. I'll get your character updated into the wikia unless you wish to do it yourself.

Looks good to me. If you wanna add me on skype or PM me, we can work out some recipes to put into the wikia for your potions. I will also assume your combat will revolve around that chemistry, but let me know if you plan for an additional weapon so I can make it stats as well.

As I told our other sign-up, remember that 6 points in a stat = 1 skill, in addition to any of the other benefits that come with a stat. Synthi aren't particularly good at anything but their mind though. It does help that your weapons scale off your Mind stat, rather than Force or Spirit, however....Might have to update the formula since we now have a Synthi. Hurrrah!

The points have been allocated appropriately, I believe. You can look over them to double-check. Now, I only need my health stat. If there is anything else I can do to help you in the mean time, let me know. You probably have a lot going on in terms of trying to get the roleplay started, so don't worry about getting him updated into the wikia, I can take care of that. Aside from developing Braniath's history, I don't have much else going on until the RP itself starts.

On a side note, I had forgotten what a fun process character creation can be! All other participants in the roleplay, please don't hesitate to shoot me a PM, add me, etc. I would love to get to know you all.

If you want to handle him on the Wikia, go for it! I believe there is a formula for calculating the health in the Trinity Arts, but regardless, I'll get around to it before its needed. We aren't starting with an immediate fight, so no worries there. If you wanna chat with the current cast, feel free to check out the skype, but other than that, expect the main thread coming tonight after my final.

Finally posting this, I'm one of the vets and I've slightly procrastinated it
note: may have some errors after the new transition, I think we altered some formula? Not too sure though. Also might need to update it.

Forename: Caris
Surname: Jarasia
Race: Northern Sari
Age: 20
Gender: Male

Appearance:
o5e1pz.jpg

Personality:

Caris as a person is a loud and amiable, someone you likely can hear long before you can even see them. Talking to others is a second nature of sorts, and his attitude is hopeful to the point one could almost call naivete. Somewhat Brash, Caris has a tendency of acting first and thinking about the consequences much later than tolerable for important choices. Despite being a very emotional person, Caris actually has a very thick skin, and can tolerate more verbal abuse than he'd like to admit. When he is pushed over the edge however, Caris' anger burns brightly and quickly. If there's one thing that can push him over the edge with enough prodding, it's speaking ill of his grandfather's legacy. Caris believes in his grandfather's tales wholeheartedly, and his primary reasoning for becoming an explorer besides his wanderlust is to prove to the world that his grandfather wasn't just some crazy old fish who concocted some old wives tale.

History:

Caris is the youngest of three children to be born into the monster hunting family of the Jarasians. A well respected but small clan who hunt large beasts and take their hide and bone and other such parts and turn them into useful parts. From a young age Caris had always trouble keeping up with his siblings, who were always much stronger than him and were the pride of the family. It wasn't that he was ignored, it was just that his siblings constantly did things...better.

There was one exception to however, Caris' grandfather always seemed to give the young Sari comfort, encouraging him not to try harder, but smarter. Besides this, Caris' grandfathered told the boy tales of the great land of Vry'chios, a forgotten realm that his grandfather claimed existed despite all the critics denying any such world existed. Vry'chios was a land far beyond the distant sun, far beyond the horizon. His grandfather claimed to have seen but a glimpse in the underground and underwater ruins he himself had explored as a guild member in his youth, as he had been one of the earlier members of the organization. His colleges however, had laughed him out of the institution, insisting such a world couldn't exist. Caris always believed his grandfather and even to this day, wants to find CVy'chios and prove it really did exist.

As a result of his grandfather's guidance, Caris began to do his best to educate himself and develop tools to help him fight. Instead of relying on pure muscle and strength to help with the hunts, Caris became a maker of poisons and he poultice's to heal and cripple friends and foes alike. The poisons he applied to his trident and used them to slow down his foes. Taking down giant beasts in raids and saving allies alike. When not in use, Caris' brews can be found along the bandoleer on his chest. Caris also studied tactics, using brains over brawn in combat in order to get teh edge. He wasn't afraid to fight dirty if need be, using his natural northern Sarian strength but enhancing it with strategy and smart maneuvers. Caris also studied ruins and architecture that his father had always been telling him about. Hpoing to one day plunge into the depths of the world his grandfather had explained.

However, Caris did not want to spend the rest of his life risking it in raids against sea monsters like the rest of his family. He knew his tricks would fail him eventually and his grandfather's stories of history and ruins filled his heart. determined to follow in his Grandfather's footsteps, Caris set out from his home to become an explorer.

Character Sheet
Zahnii
Character Information

Forename: Zahnii
Surname: Manul
Age: 20
Gender: Female

Appearance: Short and stocky for what may come to mind for the typical feline Thári. She stands at just over 5ft tall and is a bulk of (deceptively) lean muscle and mottled fur (but mostly fur). Her fur is more ruddy in the warm seasons and silver in the cold, but her darker markings stay more or less the same. She has a boxy face, with short ears and large round amber eyes. She has a smile one can only describe as crooked and unflattering, her canines looking comically large for her mouth. She has black spots on her forehead, black stripes on her cheeks, and her fur shifts to a softer white under her chin and down her neck regardless of weather. Her tail is ringed with black. [REF]

Personality: Zahnii prides herself in her patience, a trait that is highly regarded in her tribe. Members of other races may find how she conducts herself to be eerily calm. She is a quiet sort, and observant. Her round eyes dart about as she takes in information about her surroundings. Some people might take her calm demeanor to mean she is a very thoughtful and intelligent sort but, that isn't quite right. She is, in fact, mostly illiterate. Though, she has been learning to read and write, and can sometimes be seen with picture books between her paws. But, the reason for her calm demeanor is simple: when one lives on steep cliffs one wrong move can end your life, and she knows this well. But, if she had one vice it would have to be her curiosity. Ever since she was a kitten she would dream of what the world outside held. It is this curiosity that drives her to learn to read proper and become an explorer.

History: The Manul tribe is not regarded highly among the other tribes of the Wild Plains. They are much more diminutive than the other feline tribes, more fit to their rocky homes built into and carved out of cliff sides and underneath plateaus. Their choice of home made them rather secluded from others, very rarely does an outsider marry into the tribe. It is far more likely for one to go off on their own in search of a mate that may not be so closely related. The small population that results from this tends to skew the gender balance one way or another, with Zahnii being born into a time with more females than males. While other tribes may let the women hunt based on exposure to progressive ideas and the rest of the world, the Manul has done so for many years out of necessity. But it is how they hunt that largely darkens their name. They watch prey from above, adept at climbing steep rocky slopes, and wait for the poor beast to get within range before pouncing their prey with a flurry of tooth and claw. To the Manul this way of hunting is disciplined, as it requires great patience and balance, but to other tribes it is seen as cowardly and even disgraceful to Kytikó, but no Manul can say that they have ran from a battle.

In these more modern times of exploration and slow, yet sweeping, progression the normally more tight-knight Manul clan is splintering and turning to in-fighting instead. Varying beliefs over how to adapt to the changing world are polarizing the community. The older members wishing for things to stay as they are, as the Manul have never listened to the other Tribes before, while the youth insist that if they don't jump into exploration they will truly be left in the dust and forgotten. It is with this thought that young Zahnii sets out to join the guild.

The only surviving child of a litter of four, born to the great hunter Vandzir and his tireless wife Zorahr. It is not uncommon to lose most, or even an entire litter, but those who survive are sturdy and strong. It has been an uncommon event throughout Zahnii's life to find an explorer braving the plains below. They were initially met with great hostility, often loosing many supplies (or their life) in the resulting skirmish. It was from these pilfered goods that a young Zahnii encountered books (the Manul are more about oral tradition) and found maps of the greater world beyond. She became curious, but her parents regarded them as nothing more than outsider nonsense and fantasy. Though as she grew older and came into her own her kind also began to listen to the strange outsiders that would occasionally pass beneath them. They were from a thing called a Guild and Agriagi was a land of untapped potential, full of fame and glory locked behind a harsh untamed land. Zahnii was entranced, she knew that becoming a great explorer would bring honor to her tribe and it would also allow her to explore the lands from the books that she had been trying to decipher in secret. Her parents certainly didn't approve of her wishes to go off and join the explorers (and in all fairness they weren't too thrilled by the idea either). So, deciding she quite frankly had enough of her thoughts being pushed aside she waited for a day when she was selected for the hunt and slipped away.

You just graduated from the academy and are on your way into the content in my first post.

[I'll draw something soon]

Oof cutting it close I know. I was gonna use an older oc from a somewhat similar rp and save some time but I noticed we already had a lot of Sari so >>; (Also I could go further to current time with the history if need be, I hope I wasn't too presumptuous with worldbuilding either)
You are good to post, I will get your stats and stuff at another time.
I am busy with my last few finals, so we can address that stuff around wednesday after.

So for the first lesson/event, everyone's characters are going to be learning some survival skills.
Tonight and tomorrow, I will be updating everyone on the Wikia(if you aren't already), so you'll be able to see your current stats and skills. If you find you want to change a skill to better suit how you wish to play your character, that is fine. That being said, after this event is over, all skills will be locked in for the rest of the roleplay.

Additionally, this event will serve as a tutorial for the combat.

Just an additional reminder that if you haven't already, you need to post for this current round.
Sign-ups will officially close on or about the next posting round, and if you have yet to integrate yourself into the world, then you will be removed from the rp. There will be additional chances to re-enter at a later time, but for now, I need to know your plans for participation as I make the teams.

Additionally, if you need time, communication is key. Let me know what's up, and your future availability. We can likely work something out.

Sorry everyone! My mothers been using the computer nonstop lately so I haven't been able to get on. I'll try and get a post up.

Just so its easily accessible, here is the formula app.
If you do not have a JAVA SE environment, it'll prompt you to install one.
Eventually, I plan to get the app a standalone so it won't require it.

Hey guys. Sorry for the huge delay. By this point, I'm unsure whether I've been kicked out or not but if not, expect a post up today. If you did decide to kick me, I understand. Just tell me asap please.

I haven't posted to move us along as of yet.
You are still a part of the role-play; however, I will say you will need to be able to consistently post.
Since we are gonna be divided into teams, having someone who cannot stay consistent will lightly hurt progress. As of now, it seems like we are managing a 2-4 day posting cycle.
Also, make sure you can run the .jar file I uploaded in my previous post. You will need that to do your formula calculations.
