Basic Info
Dennis Rhodes
Male
26
Appearance
Fc- Enjin | Gachiakuta
Height:
6'4
Build:
Lanky
Blonde hair clinging to the remains of dyes gone past, Dennis is an explosion of colourful punk fashion thrifted from all the best dumpsters in town! He enjoys piecing together all sorts of fabrics and discarded styles to try and create something unique to help him stand out and maybe start a conversation. Stretched lobes support two hefty rings with a body decorated in nonsensical permanent doodles half decent and half appearing to be a self-application of wobbly smiley faces and (importantly) an angry hedgehog saying something comically unpleasant on his ankle.
Many thick rings decorate his fingers, scuffed or modified with interesting rocks in place of gemstones (or possibly jagged shards of metal if he feels a rough night impending). The rest of his jewellery shares a similar trend
, often made from mismatched beads or bones he's come across or traded. Though his craftiness has yet to translate to his make-up as he's still in the "tutorial" phase of his journey and has a hard time just getting the basics right when his hands get so shaky. In the end, his frustration often leaves him with nail polish on his hands and eyeliner smudged to oblivion.
His jacket, a patchwork of metal and leather scraps dyed a deep red, is a project continually being worked on with new buckles, pins, and different badges being pierced into the piece as he goes along - almost like a living document of his life. However, Dennis is surprisingly not very precious about his clothes, so long as the damage isn't intentional he's happy to shake it off as "added personality" and can be surprisingly forgiving. His boots are the greatest example of this sentiment, being scuffed to oblivion and stubbornly sewn back together again and again. Dennis isn't one to throw things away, being a resourceful and inventive guy when it comes to recycling worn pieces.
Personality
Motivation(s):
Life is a drag.
But, maybe, if he can actually get through this course? Prove he's not a complete dumbass and that his useless 'girly' hobby can actually amount to him doing something with his life?
To think that he could actually spend his time doing something he loves instead of scanning gum packets?
Well, that would be pretty cool.
Not to mention someone's gotta step up to keep his lil' gangsters lights on.
Current Personal Goal:
Learn how to apply make-up without looking like a feral clown.
Best & Worst Qualities:
Resourceful | Hot-Tempered and Excitable |
Reliable | Slobby - Disorganised |
Experienced Brawler | Academically Weak |
Fears:
Working a 9-5 corporate job and having his soul ripped out of his chest temple of doom style.
Having to rehome his Hedgehogs.
Getting arrested and removed from his course.
Talents:
Working with Textiles - especially upcycling. He's notably proficient with leather.
Bare-knuckle boxing. Not that he's ever seen the inside of a ring.
First aid/Small animal rehabilitation.
Relationships
Family:
Dennis dislikes mentioning matters of family.
He had a dad. A mum, for a while.
They just aren't worth talking about.
Best Friend(s):
Morgo
Relationship Status:
Single
Backstory:
"Well, it would be nice if Dennis every actually showed up to my class"
Wouldn't it just? But see, Dennis was far too busy in those days to care about trivial things like an education, spending his time bunking off with his mates smashing up junk cars in his dads scrapyard or getting into all sorts of troubling substances. Of course, all good things must come to an end, and as smug as Dennis was to sit and chew his pencil to the stub in his highschool final exams he couldn't help but feel his heart sink when he found himself alone beside friends
excited to read their scores aloud.
Excited because they had
passed
.
Hadn't they all been in this together?
Or was Dennis the only one that took their group idiocy seriously? You're telling him these dicks when home and actually studied? Actually went to school a few days a week? Or was it really that easy and he was just... that... dumb...
Was he?
Suddenly Dennis didn't feel so cool.
Being an odd one out was only fun when there were other people to be odd with.
.
All of his friends spent their summer talking up their own "next step" - colleges, universities, jobs already secured with family. Dennis and the chaos he thrived in became an obscure memory into the bad example he'd eventually become, fading away from his friends and family to try and tackle life alone. It wasn't exactly easy, most places turning him away for his "threatening appearance" or rocky reputation. Being in his home town was doing him no favours so within a year he was securing himself a shitty little flat in the big(ish) city with his friend Morgo, finally getting some night shifts at a gas station to keep himself going. But oh, what a drag the day to day grind is! Dennis sought to inject a little flavour back into his routine and bit by bit his own style was born with a newfound confidence, urging him to develop these skills until he was eventually convinced into moving to America with Morgo and made the big leap into signing up for a student loan to properly hone in on his newfound passion.
.
Still feeling like an oddball, he's been putting in the extra effort to talk to the other students, especially since... the body.

Influential Memory:
One day while walking home from the station he thought he saw a cat picking on a scruffy kitten and investigated to see it was in fact a lil hedgehog in distress. After a good twenty minutes of chasing the cat down and some light trespassing to find where his pal had been dropped, Dennis eventually emerged from a broken fence panel the adoptive mother of Gnasher - a three-legged hedgehog.
The time and care it took to look after the animal helped to pull Dennis from the depressing mundane his life had begun to slip into, providing him with some purpose outside of his own selfish wishes.
Personal secrets:
Currently hiding a hedgehog rehabilitation centre in his dorm room.
Also happens to run a small business repairing clothes for people.
Tries to hide his Liverpool accent around new people.
Crush:
None
(Shadow the Hedgehog)
Magic Transformation:
☆
A hard slam of fist against palm and Dennis transforms!
☆
His skin hardens and melds into tough metal plating, his hair stands up on end
in a striking white glacier, and his face becomes entombed by a helmet not unlike what you'd see from a biker.
His outfit comes in two parts, an offensive and defensive mode. While offensive, his jacket shortens to a crop with spikes adorning the shoulder pads. While defensive mode is engaged, a sudden poof will explode out from the seams of the jacket and have Dennis appearing as though he were wearing a large winter coat. However, as humorous and admittedly comfy as this looks, each strand of fluff can stiffen into a short spine that can help to deflect partial damage back at his attackers and absorb blunt force.
His face, as mentioned prior, becomes an expressionless bike helmet reflecting back at you. The visor is dark as onyx, impossible to remove, and touch as a tortoise shell. In a similar fashion any cracks to this outer shell appear to still hurt him physically.
Weapon:
Dennis has two comically large belt chains hanging off either side of his hips. These can be used like heavy whips or sent forward as magic binds, stretching or shrinking themselves to fit the shape of the creature needing to be pinned. The length of time Dennis can tie down an opponent depends on a straight battle of prowess which, at least at the start, can be a struggle to maintain for long.
When whips and chains aren't as exciting, he's happy just to bare-fist box. Though it certainly helps to give you an edge when your fists are as tough as steel.
His powers come from an unassuming bead of glass, encased within a metal ring by yours truly. The bead swirls and glints faintly, as if containing a tiny galaxy barely blinking back at you.
