Gil looked quite surprised at the teacher's suggestion, staring for a few seconds. Sighing, he removed his blazer jacket and adjusted his shirt and tie. He looked around for someone who was open. Seeing Yumi standing by herself, and having the experience of talking to her prior, he decided to at least see if it was possible. Walking over he smiled at her, stopping in front of her, standing a fair bit taller than her. Looking down slightly due to their height difference he asked "Would you mind if we partnered up for this?", his posture more relaxed than when he had visited her before.

Yumi.

Yumi's eyes were still scanning the room when a long shadow fell over her, turning her head she saw none other than Gil and was about to step out of his way; surely he was off to partner with someone more exciting than her, but was surprised when he spoke directly too her. He was a good bit taller than her and it was both somewhat comforting and a little uncomfortable all the same, the shock was probably evident on her face when he asked to partner with her, a slight hint of colour rising to her cheeks for reason's only her sub conscious brain would ever understand. "I...That is, if that is what you would like it would be my pleasure Gil Senpai." It would certainly take the sting out of trying to find someone else, "Though..are you sure you would like to partner with me? There are probably better choices." She just couldn't help herself, despite her intent to play it cool she offered Gil the chance to get out of the partnership if it was just a pity ask, he seemed kind enough to do something like that.

He smiled and chuckled. "My individual combat experience is somewhat lacking, so I'm liable to losing whatever sparring activity is set. I'd rather have my ass handed to me by someone cute and kind than someone who would gloat about it" He said, looks into her eyes a little more intently as he spoke, measuring his tone to her reactions. 'She's flustered' he thought to himself 'Cute'

Yumi.

As he confessed his lack of individual fighting experience she couldn't help but look a little disbelieving, he was so tall and strong looking and the way he could change, surely he was a capable fighter. Of course the words of her sisters floated back to her head Don't make the mistake of judging a book by its cover, more often than not the story within is far more exciting than what the cover will tell you. She was about to confess her own ineptitude when it came to any kind of physical violence, when he called her cute and her cheeks burned red with the compliment. Her mouth momentarily falling open, speechless, before she was able to compose herself. She convinced herself he probably didn't mean that she was cute, just that he'd prefer a cute kind person, he hadn't directly called her either and to assume as much was rather arrogant of her. Further more even if he had meant her he was likely just being polite, breaking the ice and trying to keep things relaxed and she was blushing like a goof ball. However his intense gaze made it hard for her to stop blushing. "I...I do not have much experience in any kind of combat...I think the closest I've come is being pushed over in the playground when I was a child." Which literally was just a kid pushing her over, there was no story, no fight back and no build up, just a sudden shove, an insult and then off the kid went as Yumi had lamented her ripped tights and bloodied knees. "So we can learn together...though I am sure you will beat me quite easily." She offered her best reassuring smile despite the blush on her face and the sudden inability to meet Gil's eyes.

'Curious' he thought, noting her seeming ineptitude to meet his gaze. He placed his hand on her shoulder, lightly but with a genuine pressure behind it, a real desire to reach out to her. "And why would I want to that?" He asked with a small smile forming endearingly at the edge of his mouth. "While it may be true that I have a certain... affinity for combat, I'm by no means guaranteed to beat you. I reckon there's a little more to your ability than you let on, Yumi. And that makes you very interesting to me" He continued, moving a little closer as his point drew to a close. "Well, among other things" He said, finishing the remark with a smile and a little glance over her, almost blushing a little before removing his arm from her shoulder fixing his tie yet again.

Yumi.

Yumi wasn't much used to physical contact, as a child the Sister's had hugged her and comforted her but they didn't make a regular habit of it due to the amount of children there. Likewise when she became one of the oldest there she was the one the smaller children ran too when they had problems, hugging her legs or wanting her comfort. This was different though, aside one time which was a blur in her memory she hadn't really been touched by a peer and so her instinct was to flinch as his hand came closer but she managed to suppress that urge. This was Gil and Gil wouldn't hurt her, he was nice and kind, his hand felt warm and comforting on her shoulder, something about the gentleness but the weight of his grip giving a realness behind his touch rather than a passing gesture. She focused on his face, her eyes flicking from his eyes in an attempt to look as engaged with his words as she was, and his chin which was a lot easier to focus on without blushing more. She smiled faintly when he said he had no desire to beat her and she didn't doubt it, it would though be a boring lesson if both avoided trying to win and she honestly wouldn't know where to begin with hitting someone, so she hoped the sparring would be more theoretical for both their sakes. "I don't think for a moment you would." She whispered in no more than a breath, cut short as Gil continued, she knew he had some experience, there was a way he carried himself that said as much.

Though she was not prepared for what he said next and her eyes met his as if trying to judge if there was some cruel joke or tease behind them. She had never been considered 'more' than she was, she was just Yumi, nothing special and certainly nothing unique and yet the way he said it made her feel a little special. When he continued to say it was that 'more' that made her interesting to him she thought she was certain her face had turned as bright as tomato, no one had ever called her interesting either. Once again she was too shell shocked to respond right away and she watched Gil readjust his tie instead, it had looked perfect anyway but she wasn't one to comment on such a thing, especially as she went to brush a lock of hair behind her ear that hadn't come free of the ponytail yet. "I...no one has ever accused me of being...interesting before. You give me too much credit...I just hope I don't disappoint."

She smiled at him nervously a moment then glanced around, in a bid to break the awkwardness -that she was pretty sure she alone was feeling- she cleared her throat and smiled. "I guess we should probably find somewhere to sit, right? I think we're blocking the aisle." She gave a little, nervous giggle, polite enough to cover it behind her own hand.

@Equinox

Lucifer didn't react to begin with. He could hear the others getting up and moving, but he didn't know why. Until he heard Gil say they word 'combat'. The moment he heard it, a toothy smile grew on his face as he got up from his position. Where was she? Where was she? Where was she? he repeated in his head as he scanned the classroom with his cold grey eyes. There we go, he thought to himself. His eyes fell on the jacket printed "Wyld Catz"

He walked over, to the pair as they were happily bonding. Lucifer stepped behind the boy Evan, grabbing him by the back of the collar he suddenly lifted the boy up out his chair and off his feet. Lucifer looked at Thea then at Evan, "Would you mined swapping partners with me?" he asked seemingly kindly. But the cold glare on his face said other wise.

His eyes then fell back on girl, he looked at her up and down. He could tell that she would be a good fighter. Also something about her soul said she had a little trick.

Thea.

Thea watched as her reluctant buddy, who was clearly having a rough first day, was hoisted out of his chair, her golden eyes followed impassively up to the one holding him up and she couldn't help but smile. Not that forced toothy grin, not the smirk but she smiled, it looked almost catty in some respects but was polite enough not to come across as mocking. Of course the sarcasm was hard to miss when she addressed poor old Evan. "Well would you look at that, looks like your prayers have been answered kid." Evan was probably her age if not older, "Thanks anyway though, it was nice chatting to you." As soon as Lucifer had released him though 'Evan' Was gone and she didn't really pay much mind to see where he went. Instead she turned her gaze to Lucifer, blew a small bubble only to pop it inside her mouth, her head tilted just faintly as if she were trying to work something out. "Yeah, probably for the best too." She commented to no one in particular, shifting in her seat she offered Lucifer a stick of gum, sugar-free (because honestly if you spent all day with Kami you would too) before continuing, "Orange sucks you know. They never get the flavour right." She said casually, "Never really got why, pineapple and coconut is better." While she was used to socialising in a sense it was with those of her 'own kind', street thugs and delinquents who just couldn't be arsed with the societal bull shit anymore. "You got a lovely way of making it seem like people have a choice...bet poor whats-his-face won't forget today." She'd forgotten his name already and with an idle flick of her wrist it was apparent she didn't much care either.

Kami had followed Thea with his eyes. He smirked as she asserted herself over the two boys. It looked like one was becoming her partner, and the other was heading his way. He smiled and sat on the table behind him, letting the other boy walk the entire distance. Kami watched as he approached, "So I guess she told you to partner with me. Well, lets see what Professor Ox is going to have us do."

Kami watched the other guy. He hoped they were not going to fight each other. Just the thought of it made his jaws stretch into spiked teeth yawn. When he closed his mouth he watched as Lucifer replaced Evans as Thea's partner. He smirked and shook his head, ignoring the guy who was pairing with him.

He declined the offer for gum, he never did like that sort of stuff. He wasn't a big sweet guy unless it was something he had made. Lucifer took the seat next to the girl. Watching as Evan scurried away, until heard her comment. He turned to face her, " Have you never had Orangina?" he asked her. It wasn't a common drink in death city, but he knew a few places that sold it. It was rather popular outside the city though. It was probably the only sweet drink he liked.

"So, do you think you are better than me?" he asked bluntly. Lucifer wasn't great at talking to others. It's the one reason he stuck around with Gil. Because Gil would usually talk for him. As he spoke he seemed to get closer to the girl, examining her body. The second thing Lucifer wasn't great at, personal space. His eyes trailed over her body, making note of each muscle and joint she had. She definitely had a nice physic, if Lucifer actually had a sense of personal space he would probably be blushing as he looked at her.

Thea.

Thea shrugged and stuck the gum back in her pocket, she looked briefly confused -which drew her lips into a natural pout- when he mentioned Orangina, "What the hell is that?" It sounded pretty upmarket to her, like some fruity high society drink or something. Of course when at home with her parents it was water or fruit juice, while with the boys and girls of her 'gang' it was beer or whatever the hell someone managed to bring with them and she never drank anything Kami offered her. "Never heard of it before sorry." She offered another faint shrug, she wasn't sure she'd like it even if she did know what it was and she had no idea how to get hold of something like that. Maybe she'd ask Kami, he seemed to know where the best place for anything sweet was online.

When Lucifer asked if Thea thought she was better than him she refrained from her first answer. Something about the boy had those fine hairs on her arms and neck stand on end and she was smart enough to heed them. He didn't look like the sort that would understand the mocking jokes she'd usually make or quite catch her sarcasm if she answered as she would have to one of the biker boys. While one of her brows dipped in a minuet twitch at his extended closeness she made no motion, yet, to get him out of her personal space, she'd become quite good with dealing with lack of personal space when Kami needed a sugar fix. Still, it was utterly unnerving and her patience wasn't known for being incredibly well wearing. "I ain't no worse than you." She answered without answering, "I honestly don't think much of anyone until they prove their worth my time or attention." She watched as he inspected her much as one might inspect a prize bull or greyhound before a fight or race. "If you wanna sit in my lap you're more than welcome too." She couldn't help the quip, his closeness was starting to bug her now and her hands faintly sparked in a dull light, like the beginning of an extended bomb fuse. "So you got a name or should I call you Orangina?" Another joke and she tried to make such obvious with a grin which was hard to maintain with him all up in her face like he was.

Lucifer retreated back as she seemed to get impatient. He ignored what seemed to be a spark or flame that was suddenly produced. He laughed a little, not at the joke more at her. He was happy he had found someone like her, someone who was going to be fun to play with. The laugh soon faded and his face returned to an emotionless like state.

"My name is Lucifer" he answered placing out his hand for a handshake. He did have some manners, even if he had to be constantly reminded about them by others. His hand was worn. The knuckles scabed and scared, and his palms were slightly rough. It was his relentless training that had caused this. Punching a tree day in day out. Or pulling on ropes for houres on end. But it wasn't just his hands, his whole body had been worn down by training. But slowly he had gotten used to it, and he didn't care anymore. Training became second nature to him. Violence being first.

Thea.

As Lucifer backed away Thea visibly relaxed a little, the tenseness of her shoulders dropped and the sparking near her hands had stopped quite suddenly. As he introduced herself she offered her own hand and took his in a shake. "Thea." His hands were pretty rough but then again, for a girl, so were her's. Her knuckles in particular were rough and calloused and she had faint scar tissue across them, the heel of her hand was also rather rough due to her own training. Her fingernails had been shaped to resemble more of a pointed claw than a usual demure oval and were painted black, they weren't overtly long though and due to their regular grooming they looked pretty tough.

In general her body was pretty fit, before coming here her and her crew would often need to out run someone or other, further more they often had to leap over fences and railings so she'd gotten pretty good at parkour but aside visiting a gym these days and sneaking out to see the old crew she hardly got a proper work out these days. Depending what the old goat had them do, it would be interesting to see what this guy was like in a fight, if he was anywhere near half decent; and not just at throwing a punch, then she may well ask him to become her sparring partner. Kami was just too lazy for that and her wallet couldn't take the hard hits for the amount of bribes he'd need to train with her. "So what do you think the old goat's going to get us to do?" She might as well have made small conversation with the guy, he was odd but he didn't suck or anything compared to Bozo he was positively a gentleman too, that guy was creepy as all hell.

((@TakTheTaco I hope you don't mind I moved your character with mine to the classroom so we could move on in the story.))

Christianna thought about it for a bit, then gave a slight, but mischievous smile. "I think we can skip breakfast. Let's head to class!" She practically dashed out of the complex, not realizing how quickly she was going, as she often moved at a brisk pace. However, she tried to make sure Ace was keeping up, slowing her pace at times. Her hair bobbed briskly along with her gait. Unfortunately, the walk to the school still took longer than she had anticipated, and they were only a couple minutes early. She always underestimated the time it took for her to finish up packing. Her big blue eyes took on a slightly frowny look, though there wasn't really any real reason for it. They weren't late, after all. The professor's assignment, however, startled her a little. She had to partner up with someone... not her partner? She gave her partner a nervous look, then cast her eyes around the room for someone... anyone. Wait, how could they tell who was a weapon and who was a meister? Or did that not matter...?

She saw a couple girls near her who were one of the few without partners, and she stood and moved closer. "Uhm... would either of you like to be my partner?"

Elyssia

Elyssia was fiddling with her hair, plaiting each individual strand together. She was rather bored, and instead of approaching others, she would let them come to her. The Italian let out a breathy sigh as people stood up to partner up, and she watched as the more helpless people just spun around with bewilderment, causing her to smile a sardonic smile; the only form of smile Elyssia was capable of. As someone approached her, she straightened up in her chair, taking her legs off of the desk and returning to a blank expression. "Eh?" She said, although fully aware of what the girl said. With the thought of still needing to find a partner in her head, slight panic washed over her as she thought this was a request, but then her reasoning caught up with her. She was tempted to ignore the girl - she sounded far too pathetic to be her partner. Even if she wasn't dynamic herself, she sure as hell wanted someone that could fire her up. But alas, she wasn't allowed to be rude here. Well, she could, but since she was lacking a partner, she would try her best not to get into fights for the time being."Oh. What are you?" Elyssia asked both bluntly and harshly, her voice sounding far more masculine than feminine, not looking at the girl. This was both a question as to whether she was a meister or weapon, and if she was a weapon, what her form was. Elyssia had learnt to ask the vaguest questions for the most insightful responses.

Ox sighed. This was taking longer than anticipated. "Partner up quickly and then stand in a space!" He said, his voice once again rising slightly.

East woke up on the floor. Floor? Floor. He looked around. Light, strange room, morning. Bed. Why was he not on the bed. He got up and saw the girl laying sprawled on it, wearing a nightie. Ah. Oh. Oh... oh dear. His face immediately went pink. What had happened last night? Memories flooded back to him. A new city, a new apartment, a new partner. Then celebratory drinks and the offer to help her shift boxes in her room. He had passed out straight onto the floor? Oh dear. He was picking himself up when she awoke. He looked over in shock.

Crystal glanced over at Ace a little guiltily, not wanting to just abandon him, but the teacher's impatience made her turn back. They didn't have much time, it seemed. She wasn't put off by the other girl's harsh manner of questioning either. This was the girl who could happily sit and listen to Excalibur talk and talk for hours every week, after all. She just smiled and answered quickly but quietly. "My name's Cryst... al. I'm a weapon, a broadsword to be exact. I think he means for the weapons to be partnered to meisters, so if you're a meister, I'd be happy to partner with you."

Kami groaned loudly proclaiming his displeasure. He stood up and moved fluidly over to an open area, his temporary partner followed. Kami flexed his arms, his skin rippled with spikes from his elbows to his fingers, which went away when he relaxed his arms.

Nadine - Jinx

The red head had begun to stir when, in her current state of sleep, she heard the shuffling of another that caused her to drag herself up from the sheets as pools of fiery red blinked open. A tired yawn broke the silence as she sat against the wall, rubbing at the corner of her eyes idly, paying little attention to the fact there was another present. Wearing a long grey top with faded red words upon its front along with a pair of loose pajama pants reaching her knees, Nadine reached over with a soft murmur, most likely cursing the need to actually wake up, to grab the phone that was settled upon the night stand. Flicking on the screen, she had huffed tiredly as a bleary red gaze stared at the digital numbers that stood brightly on the screen for a few seconds before fading to back to a blank state....

"...Late?"

Nadine seemed barely bothered by that fact but it didn't stop her from dragging herself to her feet, hand resting upon her temple as she furrowed her brows. Did she really care? Suddenly pouting, the girl dropped the phone onto the bed before turning around, a hand running through the deep red locks as she was forced to stop and stare at the other settled half way across the room. Her eyes had widened considerably before she ended up speaking, tone having become a whisper considering her mind had yet to awaken properly. With a hand having stopped half way through pulling out another tangle, she further messed up her hair with a small ruffle, a small grin coming to her lips. "East, right?" The weapon had asked, seemingly more cheerful now that a few minutes had passed and she had adjusted, if only a little. Noticing the pink that dusted his cheeks, the girl only grinned wider. "You are so adorable!~" She had cooed, smiling wider at the sight of her partner blushing.

Reaching up, Nadine scratched her cheek idly with a small hum as she studied the state of her room with a critical gaze...which was already a mess despite the fact she had only started unpacking! "How did I mess up my room when It was just unpacking..." She asked, honestly confused by the fact half of her items had been scattered upon the floor or boxes tipped over. "It is bad luck...a bad omen!" Nadine whined before turning back to East, smiling tiredly once more. "You know we are majorly late...right?" Heading to the set of drawers, she pulled out her clothes for the day before tossing them onto her bed as she grabbed a hair tie and begun to pull her locks back, snapping a band around them. Suddenly spinning around to face East, her expression had shifted to one of worry "Um...what are we supposed to tell whoever our teacher is? I mean this has got to be the worst impression ever..."
