School Days

Brent had looked down at their interlocking hands and smiled, then looked to Kaleb when he spoke of his guitar. "I've got one upstairs in my bedroom. I don't think it's tuned though. I don't know how to play it though. I'm left-handed and it's hard to figure it out by the guide book or tutorials on youtube." he said with a chuckle. He wanted to listen to Kaleb play and to hear his voice. "Want me to go get it?" He asked. He didn't know whether or not he could leave him alone long enough to grab it, and he didn't want to.

Before he could say anything else, the sound of footsteps could be heard coming down the stairs. Brent immediately let go of Kaleb's hand and went back to the other couch. He looked at the other boy with a sad expression just before the door opened. "Hi guys." said a tall, slender blond man with slight stubble on his chin. He wore a dark grey business suit and glasses. He'd already escaped the grasp of the deadly tie he hated so much. Brent resembled the man so much, though he had his mother's eyes. His father's were a dark green color. "You must be Kaleb, the tutor? Donna just informed me you'll be spending a few days here. That's mighty kind of you. I'm David McDaniel, Brent's old man." He smiled just as friendly as Brent as he extended his hand out to shake it. Brent smiled, watching the two give introductions. He was glad that David was a friendly guy that tried to be welcoming of his friends. It was both genuine friendliness mixed with a little guilt. David felt that his absence from home would cause resentment in the home, so he always tried to be the 'cool dad' when he could to make-up for it.

Kaleb smiled and shook his head. "Nah, its okay, I'll play a song for you another time," he said softly. But when Brent left him, he felt sad, but he had hear the door opening and he looked up and smiled at the man that came down. He looked so similar to Brent. But Kaleb felt nothing for the man, like he had for Brent. He smiled at the man, standing up and shaking his hand. "Nice to meet you. And it's no problem, Brent's a bit hopeless in Math class, as far as he's told me," he said chuckling lightly. He let go of the mans hands and sat back down looking to Brent.

Brent laughed, "Yeah....I get a little confused when math equations turn into more letters and uncommon signs than numbers." He wasn't lying about that. David shared the laugh, "Yeah. I faintly recall a failed attempt of a certain someone trying to turn a F into a B on their report card in middle school." That made the younger blond's laugh turn a little more shaky with embarrassment. "So, I was wondering if you guys want to watch the game with me? 49ers vs. Packers. Don't tell your mom, but I've got a few bucks on Cali." he chuckled. That bit at the end made Brent frown, "You promised mom that you wouldn't make bets anymore. It stresses you out even more when you're watching the game." David let out a sigh and shook his head, "It's not much so it'll be alright. I just want to have a little fun. So are you guys in?" Brent shook his head, "No, we've got to study...and we're still getting to know one another. How're we gonna chat over coaches yelling at the refs...or you for that matter? Thank you though." David looked a little disappointed and sighed, "Alright. Well feel free to join your mom and me if you guys change your mind. Kaleb, it's nice to meet you."

When he left, Brent smiled and let out a small sigh, "He tries so hard. It's really endearing..." He looked-up at Kaleb with a slightly guilty look on his face, "I'm sorry I jumped-up like that. It's not that I'm ashamed of my sexuality. I'm actually fairly open about it, or try to be." he explained, "Dad's pretty liberal and isn't discriminatory towards the LBGT community, it's just...well, he has a heart murmur that's very dangerous. Too much stress could cause a heart attack. I don't want to risk that happening. I couldn't live with myself if it did. You understand....?" he asked. He didn't want to offend the redhead, but his father's health came first no matter how much he felt towards the other boy.

Kaleb stayed silent as the two blondes spoke and he just smiled, saying thank you. He wasn't a sports guy so he was glad that Brent told the man no. He relaxed a little more, when the door closed. He looked to Brent and nodded his head. "It's okay, I understand," he said softly after Brent explained how he didn't want his father to have a heart attack because of the stress. "I'm glad you care about him enough," he said softly. "I don't really have a dad so I don't know how that's like. My moms always open with me about things and let me and my brother have our own choices," he said softly. "At least he's not a homophobe," he added softly.

"Yeah...even though I wish he'd get a different job and all...I still love him very much and worry about him." Brent replied. It was why they couldn't let him know the truth about Kaleb's presence. He would definitely get overwhelmed about it. The blond just didn't want to explain that part to Kaleb, bringing that up again after he's managed to cheer-up slightly.

Now that they were alone again, it was hard not for Brent to try and resume their activities. He couldn't keep his eyes off of Kaleb. He wanted to feel his body, taste his lip, and experience the bliss of being in his embrace again. He, however, refrained from it. He didn't really want to jump into things that quickly. He wanted to do things right, unlike his experience with his ex. Instead, he tried to think of something that would keep them occupied and not focused on the negative aspects of them being together. "So...tell me a little bit more about yourself...your family. I want to know everything." he said as he stood up. He went over to his art studio area. He grabbed his sketchbook and some pencils and returned to his seat opposite of Kaleb. He didn't want him to see, but he was going to sketch a picture of the other male sitting across from him.

"Umm... Not much to tell. I play guitar for the band at the Casino. I don't really have a lot of friends my age. Most of my friends are friends of my brothers or Sunshine, who is my spirit sister, which is her way of saying that I'm her brother, even though we're not related by blood," he said smiling at that. "Selina is my brothers wife, but I was the one who introduced them. I met her while hanging out with Sunshine and my brother met her after a year of getting to know Selina. It was nice finding out they were soul mates, since my brother used to be very hard to love. He was always bitter and just mean but now, he's more like himself," he said softly. He looked at Brent and he wanted him back on his lap kissing him.

"Oh, that's cool that you're in the band." Brent said, smiling. It would be nice sing along to his talented music. He was really quick with his sketch, glancing up at Kaleb every few minutes. It was very hard for most people to sketch and hold a conversation at once, but somehow the blond managed. "I like them; your family. Everyone one seems really nice....and magical." He couldn't help but say that last bit. It was weird accepting all of that. "I don't really have many friends from the traveling. I did manage a small group my age or a tap bit older that I went to school with. We still text every now and then. But most high schoolers are too fickle to really try and keep long-distant friendships I've found out." He smiled at his sketch, working on Kaleb's face. He wanted to capture just how handsome he was. He recalled seeing him for the first time as he gave his introduction. It was the first thing that came to mind. Not that he was different, or rude for not paying attention. He just seemed handsome and made everyone else dull out. "So...uhm...do you have any...abilities?" he was really curious about that in particular. How could anyone considerably normal not be?

Kaleb shrugged, he didn't know if he had any gifts, although Selina believes he does. "I'm not really sure if I have any gifts. Selina says I'm stronger then I look because my blood is that of a gods, but I don't know what that means," he said softly. He looked at Brent as the Blonde drew and he smiled at him. He couldn't believe the day he had. The super highs and super lows. He loved the day because he had met Brent and they both liked each other. He hated the day because he found out he might die on Mardis Gras. But the love was more then the hate. He was still smiling at Brent.

When Kaleb spoke of having 'blood of the Gods' Brent thought to himself out loud almost in a daze, "I definitely don't doubt that..." He was referring to the redhead's gorgeous features that he felt were 'godlike' as he drew. When he realized he'd said that out loud he blushed deeply and was hesitant about looking up at the other boy. Still, that was an interesting description. Were there really gods? It made him wonder about what other magical beings and objects there were in the world.

The blond hoped that talking about themselves and doing this activity would put Kaleb in higher spirits. He wanted to promise him that everything was going to be alright and that everyone would be safe. He just had little to no confidence in himself as to how he could possibly do anything to save him. He was as plain and boring as they come. He was weak, girlish even. Above all else, he had no magical attributes that he was aware of. The only thing he was remotely talented at was art and song.

When he finished, Brent stood up and approached Kaleb with a smile on his face. He sat down beside him and rested his head on shoulder as he held the sketch up for the other boy to see. His ability to draw was amazing. In such a short time he was able to create such a detailed, realistic image. It was almost like a black and white photo. He'd even adjusted his facial expression to the smile Kaleb had towards the end. He thought he was alright at his work, but not as good as he really was. "What do you think?" he asked. He hoped he liked it. He was also more into just being there beside him, being able to rest his head on him without care or concern. He slightly nuzzled his head around, never being so comfortable he thought. He had a rosy complexion and a smile on his face.

Kaleb blushed at the confession. He didn't think he was that good looking but he wouldn't argue with Brent on it. He was feeling better about everything. He was happier with Brent then he had ever been alone. He took Brent's hand when the blonde came over and sat down next to him. He smiled in awe of how beautiful the drawing was. "It's beautiful Brent... I didn't think I was that handsome," he said softly to the blonde. He looked down at Brent though, watching him nuzzle into Kaleb's shoulder. He leaned down into Brent and kissed his head gently. "But your more beautiful then I could ever be," he said softly to Brent.

Unknown to them, Kalebs mother, Ameli, was driving to the outskirts of the city, heading to one of the large villa's near the ocean. When she slowed to a stop at the gate she got out of the car. She stood there waiting and the gates opened, a tall man with long black hair stood there. He looked like a god and it took all of Ameli's will, to get on her knees before him. "Hello... Acheron..." she said softly to him. He nodded his head to her. "Hello, Ameli," he said in return. "What troubles you?" he asked her. "Our son's life is in danger..." she said. Acheron looked confused. "Son?" he asked. "Yes, I was pregnant when you left me. Our son is in great danger. Selina has seen it and I need your help to protect him," she said softly.

Brent smiled, glad he liked. He closed his eyes and replied, "Well you are...I thought so when I first saw you..." That confession took a lot for him to admit and made his face rosier. His eyes opened as he felt Kaleb's soft lips upon his forehead and his smile widen. "Kaleb...do you feel...like we've met before? I get this feeling, as crazy as it is,...we've known each other for a long time." He sat the sketch book on the table then and returned to his position against the redhead. He hoped the other boy felt the same way. For the blond, it assured what Sunshine told him to be true and it made him feel so lucky to be able to meet his soul mate. Part of him wanted to confess it, while another part wanted Kaleb to make that connection on his own. Looking down at their interlocking hands, the blond pulled them up and he kissed Kaleb's hand.

While David watched the game in the living room, Donna was busy in the kitchen making him 'heart-healthy' snacks. She also did mindless chores to keep her nerves from getting the best of her. All that she'd witnessed and heard that day was overwhelming, especially for someone so skeptical. She wanted to question everything she believed in. She, however, focused on the instructions Ameli had given her. She was weary, looking around the house as if something or someone else could enter at any moment. She wanted to protect her family in anyway possible. Once she'd served David's football snacks she'd decided to fetch blankets and pillows for the boys. She felt sorry for the redhead boy. As a doctor one of the hardest things was to tell a patient they might not have long to live. Her mother's intuition only made that feeling worse, especially with the way Brent looked at the boy. She knew. His father had always looked at her with those eyes.

Kaleb smiled at Brent and at his question, he thought. "I'm not sure... I feel like I've known you all my life and that we are meant for each other.... And its odd, since I met you today, but I feel like if you ever left me, I would float away from the earth because you weren't there to hold me to it..." he said softly. He had never understood that feeling, when he read it in the twilight books and even when Selina had told him thats exactly how to describe a soul mate. But now he knew. "Brent... Are we soul mates?" he asked the beautiful blonde next to him. He knew that Selina had told him a lot more then he had said, but Kaleb didn't think about it that much, but now it made sense.

The blond listened to Kaleb's explanation and nodded thoughtfully. It was then that he'd asked the question. Brent blushed and looked away. He didn't understand why he reacted that way, but he was just so infatuated with the redhead. After a moment of hesitance, Brent bit his bottom lip and nodded. "Selina told me....that we are meant to be and that the Fates have our threads intertwined..." he admitted. His blue eyes looked-up at Kaleb's and he gave a soft, warm smile. He never felt so sure about anything else in that moment. "I never thought I would feel this way about someone; I didn't know it was possible. Just looking into your eyes makes me feel consumed by love..." Brent had never uttered 'love' to anyone; not in that way. As shy as he was about it, he somehow felt so sure and unafraid to admit it to him.

Kaleb blushed and he held Brent's hand, raising it up to his lips, kissing his knuckles gently. He looked at Brent a moment before leaning down and kissing Brent gently. He felt so happy. "I'm so happy that you moved here," he said softly, hugging Brent closer to him. He just loved holding the boy close to him. He just wanted to stay with Brent for the rest of his life, even if he did die in four days, he would die happy he was with Brent. He smiled down to the boy before he kissed him once more.

Acheron spent hours speaking to Ameli, and after a while he asked her if he could meet the fortune teller. "No, you know how Jacob gets when you go near her," she said softly to him. "Then I will need to meet the boys. I need to know how and what will happen, and their futures are connected so it will not be hard," he said. She sighed. "I'll need to call Brent's mother, before we go..." she said. She left the room and took out her phone, calling Donna. She asked her if it would be alright if she brought Acheron to meet Brent and Kaleb. She would also bring them food.

Brent raised his other hand up to the redhead's face, cupping his jawline softly as the two kissed. He stole the words right out of his mouth. He pulled away barely, smiling, and then placed several tiny kisses against Kaleb's lips. He wished now that LA never happened; that they would've moved straight to New Orleans so he would be able to have met Kaleb sooner. "I love you Kaleb." he whispered.

Donna was just returning from the linen closet upstairs when she heard her cell phone go off. It was in the kitchen. Setting the blankets on the dining room table, she answered it, "Hello?" She listened as Ameli asked about letting the boys meet this mysterious Acheron. She remembered how uneasy the mentioning of his name made all of Kaleb's family and she was hesitant to respond. "If you believe it's for the best...then yes you can bring him. Just...please inform him of the circumstances in regards to my husband's involvement." Her love and concern for David was almost as strong as her son's was for Kaleb.

(sorry this is kinda a crap post. I was interupted in writing like 4 times then had to walk my dog -_-;)

"Of course, he's already been informed and such. I would never bring him , if I knew it was dangerous for your husband or the boys," she said softly. She chatted with Donna, asking her what the boys wanted to eat that she's driving to town at the moment. The only reason why her family did not like Acheron, was because he left her while she was pregnant with Kaleb. He was Kaleb and Jacobs father, but he left her, 'for her safety'.

Kaleb kissed Brent back, running his hand through the blonde's hair gently, kissing him still. He felt his heart skip a beat at the confession and he felt warmth spread through his cheeks. "I love you too," he said softly to Brent, pulling Brent back onto his lap, running his hands up the blondes back as he kissed him deeply.

(It's okay, stuff happens and it wasn't crap at all. )

She was relieved to know that this person was safe and that he'd been informed about David's stance in the matter. Donna spoke with Ameli for a little while longer, telling her that the boys would probably like something simple. The doctor in her suggested healthy things like chicken and salad. Anything with multigrains. Once she let the other woman go, she peeked around the corner at David who was shouting at the TV, scolding him for getting too worked-up, the grabbed the blankets and pillows. She wondered if there was anything else she should bring since the two weren't coming upstairs out of safety.

Brent's heart fluttered at Kaleb's words. As he was pulled into the redhead's lap, he reached up to Kaleb's face with both hands, then slowly glided them down his neck to his collar bone. He kissed him deeply, running his tongue between the others lips, letting out small moans escape and vibrate his throat. His chest pressed into the other male's. He was completely intoxicated by Kaleb. A shiver ran down his back as Kaleb's hand glided down it, causing him to arch slightly.

(Alright, I'm glad. Sometimes when that happens, I lose track of where I was going with what I'm writing and it doesn't make sense lol.)

(I'm never disappointed in your posts:) )

Kaleb smiled and kept kissing Brent, running his hands up and down the blondes back. He kept kissing him though, letting his hands take in the feel of the blonde. He heard the door open and he pulled away, looking up towards the basement doors entrance. Kaleb let Brent go just enough for the boy to move over to the red head's side and sit next to him. He smiled to Brent's mother. When she handed him the blankets and pillows he thanked her. He was very polite and courteous. He listened to her when she said his mom would be bringing them food. He smiled and nodded his head in thanks for telling him. He had to admit, if she hadn't come downstairs, they would still be doing what they were doing, and would probably continue once she was gone.

(awe, thank you. Same with yours)

Brent couldn't help but to sigh. His parents had such impecable timing. He didn't want to let go of Kaleb. Not now, not ever. He looked at his mom and thanked her. He was still red in the face and Donna looked at him for a moment, suspicious of that fact, but trying not to show it. She wasn't born yesterday. Two young people in the basement all alone; hormones everywhere. It did make her want to leave them alone as quickly as possibly though. She'd respect her son's decisions, knowing that her opinion didn't matter and that nobody could stop young love. "I brought your Ipod and dock too. I know there's not much on TV and it may get a little boring down here." She said as she pulled it out of her pocket. She'd been dressed like a football fanatic's wife dawning a 49ers hoodie and matching hair ties. She looked cute like her son. "I'll uhm...text you when Ameli arrives."

When she left, Brent gave a mischievous grin and turned to face Kaleb. He slid back on top of him and snicked, "She totally knows." He didn't care at all. At least she respected his privacy unlike most parents. He ran his hand through Kaleb's red locks, smiling at him and flirting. He was overjoyed having been able to tell someone he loved them and they returned the feeling. He was so lucky. "Seems like we have her blessing."

Kaleb smiled and when she handed Brent his ipod and dock. He smiled. Kaleb had his ipod with him. He smiled and as she left he plugged the dock in and then put on his ipod, playing some music. Most of it was covers that his friends had made. When he sat back and Brent climbed onto his lap, Kaleb did not argue at all. He kissed Brent's neck gently, feeling the Blonde's pulse and feeling his hands in his hair. "I'm glad she didn't decide to stay down here," he murmured softly against Brent's neck.

(Sorry for the crappy post)
