Fandral of Asgard

Chris/ Asher- The Apartment, John- On the Phone

" Yes John, I am glad we found young Asher. We can meet in the morning, over at the Sword and Cog, say, ten in the morning".

" I am fine with that arrangement. I shall see you at ten in the morning tomorrow, please don't be late to our little meeting-,"

Sadly, John was one for long winded goodbyes and was cut off in the middle of his little talk about meeting them there.

" As long as you hit the red button, it should indeed be off, well, hopefully it is."

Chris listened as he quietly spoke to him and he looked over at him. " I don't know what it is about this man, but there is something off about him, but I can't exactly pinpoint what makes me feel this way. Perhaps a gut instinct."

" I wonder what it is that makes me- actually, I want to ask Asher something," he said, as he walked over to the little boy who was eating an apple.

" So, your uncle John is coming tomorrow morning."

Asher nodded and uttered a total of eight words, but they were certainly chilling. " Uncle John protects me from the bad men."

Chris remembered what the thug had said and had a pale look on his face. " Does he-?" He asked.

" Bad men go bye bye." Perhaps Fandral or Jasmine wanted to ask what he meant by that.

"Ugh..." Rouge (G.U.N. spy and daring treasure hunter) picked her pearly white boot out of a muddy puddle disguised as a simple pile of litter with a frustrated grunt, "Is it so much to ask that these people take proper care of their own city?"

"These slums are considered abandoned for a reason," Shadow (G.U.N. agent) rebutted very matter-of-factly.

"Perhaps if you improve your judgement when it comes to purchasing attire, you can avoid this situation in the future," Omega (walking G.U.N. arsenal) added.

Rouge snapped her head around to give him an insulted scoff and scowl, "That better not have been a jab at my fashion sense, Tin Man!"

"My intent is not to forcibly eject you from your pedestal through the use of witty remarks made at your expense, but instead to remedy your illogical thought processes,"

All the while, Shadow continued to silently lead the bickering bat and bot through Charon's very own ghost town, nicknamed 'Rorre 404' after being evacuated on the numerous accounts of assault carried out by malfunctioning robots straying from The Undercity. In stark contrast to his partners arguing - confident their noise would attract no unwanted attention whatsoever - Shadow remained on high alert, and did his best to tune into his surroundings.

In a huff, Rouge folded her arms and turned her nose up at Omega, "Now you're just being blatant about it,"

"Solution A: you possess wings; therefore, you can easily fly over inadequate road conditions. Solution B: purchase or otherwise acquire darker articles of clothing; such clothing would prove more difficult to detect during acts of espionage, and more difficult to stain."

Rouge took a sharp breath in to reply, but by Shadow's silent command - a raised fist - she stopped dead in her tracks, with Omega following suit. With both their eyes on Shadow, he signaled for them to listen with a simple point to his sharp ear.

As predicted, the source of all the mechanical sounds entered into view; a pack of three rotund robots, turning their heads this way and that. The quietest of the pack was also appeared to be the quickest, as it strut far ahead of the others. The loudest appeared to be...limping, and dragging its metal leg through the mud. The third would be considered simply average, if not for its blue visor; a unique trait not shared by any of the malfunctioning robots on record. Still, it nary mattered. Its mere presence outside The Undercity was grounds enough to assume it was hostile like the rest.

As the pack of bots neared the middle of the road, Rouge quickly collected herself leaping into the air above them and shouting "Now!"

On cue, Shadow dashed from out of hiding to close the gap between himself and the quickest bot of the bunch with a spear of energy prepped in his right fist while Rouge's simple distraction lasted. Omega stepped out second with his dual miniguns already spinning, and unloaded an absurd amount of lead into the first robot that came under his sights; shredding the already damaged robot apart with machine gun fire. The third robot was knocked onto its back as Rouge swooped in to deliver a message from her boot to its face.

During the skirmish, Shadow lunged at the final bot left standing, and plunged his chaos spear straight through its metal plating and out the other end of its round body before the chaos energy dissipated. The robot did not falter, however, and instead responded by curling up into the shape of a wheel. It began to roll, but only succeeded in getting itself stuck in the mud, and made the predicament worse by picking up speed. Ever the glory hog, Shadow took the action as a challenge, and leapt into a spinball before flinging himself at the helpless robot; cutting right through it like silk. After the hole he left behind produced what could barely be considered an explosion, the robot slowed to a halt, and ceased to function.

Dlanor A. Knox - Battlefield - Outway

latest

"... AFFIRMATIVE. I see no plausible reason or threat to keep you stranded HERE."

It was an immediate response that Dlanor given the Ashen One. Just as she said, there wasn't anything that she could correlate him to some potential threat that she had been told to look out for. Along with looking for those threats, Dlanor had the task of escorting those that may need it to the Ragnarok barracks.

"As for who I am in advance, my name is Dlanor A. Knox, a member in the Wand branch of the COALITION. This world that we stand in is called the planet of Ash, and is where the Coalition's outpost, Ragnarok, is LOCATED. There are no present kingdoms to my knowledge, but nevertheless, you are welcome to lend your assistance when NEEDED."

Emphasized by her strange speech pattern, Dlanor explained the bare facts of where they were located at and her identity. Afterwards, she felt like something was amiss in the nearby area, but figured that it was best to move on and escort the Ashen One to the Ragnarok base before something would go off.

"Allow me to escort you to the Ragnarok's base of OPERATIONS."

Just like she had said it, Dlanor would waste no time in leading the way towards the Ragnarok base, not even giving in a moment for the Ashen One to clarify on certain matters should they come up.
The Ashen One - Battlefield - Outway

The Ashen One was slightly confused by the terms 'Ragnarok' and 'Coalition'. However, he was smart enough to know that the Coalition was some sort of faction.

"Thou hast my thanks. I swear my loyalty to the Coalition."

He wanted to ask questions about the Coalition, Ragnarok, and planet Ash, but she didn't seem to be in the mood to answer any of them. As they traveled, he continued to think about the dying world that he left behind. He became so engrossed in his thoughts that he paid no attention to his surroundings other than following his guide. The more he explored his memories, the more he was determined to help save this planet. He didn't need anyone to tell him that this world was also deteriorating. It looked very much like home, except for the different architecture. He felt that it was his destiny to be here, given that this world was called Ash.

The skirmish against the wandering robots did not last long. Usually robots that came from the Undercity wouldn't be off and doing things such as this... so something wasn't right about this situation here. However, it appeared that they didn't exactly wipe out all of the remaining robots, a lone robot which appeared to be a different model began to scurry back to the Undercity after witnessing what occurred.

"Scary... Must run. Ru... n... run!"

For a brief moment, that same red glow came from this lone robot's eyes, suggesting that it was alike to the few that Team Dark had just decommissioned in that skirmish. Unlike the other robot models, this one had a strange round head, making for an odd design... almost like it was an additional to what this robot used to be. Going along with it's apparent panic, the little robot ran into the alleyway that would lead down to the Undercity.

Hearing the Ashen One's expression of thanks, Dlanor didn't say anything but appeared to show some acknowledgement to that statement. Again, it was no problem to receive new recruits to the Coalition, given that they needed all of the help they could get, especially what happened according to the reports of a "Civil War." Leading the way, Dlanor couldn't help but hear a small skirmish not too far from their location. Without warning, the Inquisitor had the urge to check and see what was happening. It was her duty to patrol as much as possible after all.

Stepping into view of Team Dark, Dlanor immediately focused towards one individual present there as well as the remains of robots. Knowing about the ongoing case of wandering rogue robots, Dlanor knew that it had to be connected to those strange sightings... and seeing that Omega was a robot that bore that red eye glow like other reported sightings of wandering robots... Dlanor saw no reason to proceed with combat.

Assuming that this commotion was some sort of threat, he followed her. He came across a golem made of metal, otherwise known as a robot. This robot, Omega, appeared to be her target. He thought that if he assisted her in vanquishing this enemy, he would gain more respect from the Coalition. Little did he know, Omega wasn't a hostile.

He took Omega's metallic nature into account. Instead of throwing a Fire Orb, he threw a Black Fire Orb instead. He assumed that, because Omega was made of metal, it would be resistant to fire. Black Fire inflicts Dark damage, which is more akin to magic.

Team Dark - Outer City

Recovering from his spinball, Shadow rose from the muck, and came eye-to-eye with a fourth robot, who was presumably fleeing after witnessing the havoc Team Dark wreaked upon its buddies. "Hostile fleeing at twelve o'clock!" he shouted, and pointed in its direction.

"They are programmed to feel fear? Pathetic. Not even the lowliest of Egg Pawns are plagued with such programming," Omega chimed in whilst readying his twin miniguns for use once more, "Query: are they programmed to feel pain as well?"

"Uh, Shadow, we got company, and they don't look happy!" Rouge shouted back, garnering her entire team's attention.

"I'll give chase and catch the remaining robot while you two hold your ground!" ordered Shadow in reply. Omega's compliance was immediate, while Rouge had some words for the hedgehog...

"Ohhh no no no no, you are NOT running off on your own again mister!"

"You can handle yourself; I'll be back before you know it!" Shadow said before lighting up his hover skates and building speed in the runaway bot's direction.

"It's not MY safety I'm worried about, it's-!"

"Less conversing, more combating," interrupted Omega as his torso spun around to align with his head again; his miniguns aimed at Dlanor and ready to fire, but not before issuing a proper warning, "Warning: stand down, or face annihilation,"

Meanwhile, Rouge was looking quite helpless. Although she stood motionless, her heart and mind were racing while her eyes darted between an Omega poised to retaliate, and a girl with no pants and a lightsaber brandished advancing on his position. Seconds turned to hours, and during her mini panic attack, hardly noticed the ball of black energy flying at her burly bot of a bodyguard. In the face of the blow, Omega stumbled on his sturdy metal feet, while Rouge reflexively flapped her wings to rise high above the splash zone. Both turned their sights on The Ashen One.

"Odd. Hostile identified as human, but possesses metal plating. No matter; no amount of plating will stop me from-"

"Omega! Watch your six!" barked Rouge. Without question, Omega spun a full 180 degrees just in time to spot one of the robots from before, compacted into a wheel and rolling straight for him. Without hesitation, the walking arsenal bombarded his quarry with an array of missiles, and left nothing but a powerless pile of scrap in his wake.

"I promise that we won't cause you any trouble, and I'm sure that this mural could attract a lot of customers. So, please consider it."

Nagito gave a bright, but nervous smile at the owner. He had already made the bartender at the Cog-And-Sword somewhat angry by trying to buy drinks without an ID, despite the fact that Nagito was very sure that he was past the legal drinking age. He hoped that his luck would make it so that the owner was unaware of the incident, and would at least allow Nagito to buy sodas or other non-alcoholic drinks.

"My many thanks, sir!"

Saber Lily called over to Shirou's direction, catching her sword in the process. However, she would turn over to see Bowser charging towards her. What could she possibly do at the last second? The moment she was grabbed, the Knight Princess thought it was a good idea to try and get some sword thrusts in. Instead of that, however, Saber Lily's sword flashed in a golden light... and all of a sudden, a golden beam burst from the tip of the sword. Well, this was happening at the same time that Saber Lily would be slammed into the ground... this was a colorful situation she got herself into.

The beam that shot out from said sword was enough to cause Bowser to flip entirely in the air and land on his head, knocking him out cold before he bounced yet again and landed on his stomach.

To her, this was what represented the hostiles referred to in the reports given to her back at her quarters in the Ragnarok base. Her arm plated for a shining gold armor, she held out the Red Key in that said as she retrieved with her other a strange blue crystal, a Kakera. Letting it float over to her side, she had it piece together a mental bond for distant communication. While she did not need to inform the personnel at Ragnarok, Dlanor was rather referring to her other alignment, the Court of Heaven.

"This is Inquisitor Knox REPORTING. Proceeding with combat against hostile TARGETS. Permission to use the Red Key and the Blue Key at full CAPACITY?"

[ "Permission granted." ]

Upon being given permission from the higher ups, Dlanor retrieved the strange Kakera and readied herself to form another blade out of a blue aura. Alongside the abnormally sized Red Key, the Inquisitor summoned the supposed Blue Key, which was a much smaller sword compared to the Red Key but bore the same power when it came to raw "magic" alone. There was no time to spare on questions or briefings, especially with the Ashen One here. Surely he had caught on already that something was amiss here, and surely a fight would occur again.

Running into the fray again, Dlanor was focused on cutting the specified targets in front her, that being Omega and the surrounding robots that were in the remote area. All of that trouble... and it appeared that Dlanor was completely ignoring Rouge. Whether it be that her targets were first priority or that Dlanor rather not add on unnecessary combat onto the list for this mission, the Inquisitor was completely sunken into this mission, and most likely wouldn't stop under normal circumstances until the targets were dealt with.

Charon - Undercity

As Shadow would give chase after the fleeing robot, the tunnelway would descend further and further down until they were at the ground level of what was the Undercity. Under normal circumstances, this location would be nothing more than a factory district meant to keep the other populated areas of Charon running. However, there seemed to be crowds of robots that should be working in the factories just... wandering around, imitating human activities. One of those human features happened to be emotion, as seen with this fleeing robots.

"Run! Every... body run! S... scary... so sc... ary...!"

Majority of robots happened to get this little one's message, causing an outbreak of panic in these robots as they fled the scene. However, with the notably weaker robots out of the way, some stayed, and those were the ones altered or even meant for the purpose of combat. These models were obviously bigger than the fleeing robots, and that they were armed with a piece of weaponry that was foreign to them. Swords, axes, maces... even their firearms were charged up with an unknown energy source. Surely that energy source wasn't a natural source of power for these machines.

Just as one of the combat robots would try and engage Shadow head-on, a bright laser was fired at the robot, causing the latter to combust into an explosion. Unexpectedly, it appeared that some other robotic lifeform had assisted him.

"This is Pod 153 reporting in. A distress protocol has been filed by assigned YoRHa unit 9S in response to sudden machine lifeform activity. By 9S's orders, Pod 153 searched and found an individual that is unrelated to the impending machine threat in this unknown environment."

As the Pod would explain its purpose to Shadow, both by normal protocol and to show that it was a non-hostile robotic lifeform, it appeared that the open display of it's laser capabilities drew more of the hostile machines to fight them.

"Proposal: Eliminate enemy machines and proceed to find 9S. Failure to do so will result with enemy machines overwhelming civilization as identified aboveground. Statement: Beginning scanning processes to locate the black box signal of 9S and to mark his position to narrow down search."

There was almost little to nothing on what could be known about this "9S" and this Pod, but apparently they were the key to solving the robotic mess that was stirring up in the Undercity. As the Pod backed up to do its scanning protocols, a single robot charged forwards with a makeshift sword ready to slash at Shadow, and another robot accompanying it readying its fists for some punches.

"In... truder... scary."

"M... Must... k... ill... sca... ry... gone..."

As these two robots engaged in attacking Shadow, both had those red glows in their eyes. Something was truly wrong with these robots... and it was an understatement to say that it was simply a malfunction in their programming.

Asher/ Chris- Fandral's apartment

Asher didn't understand why the other man was frowning. He was only speaking the truth of everything that his uncle did to keep him safe. He knew that the rest of his family would do the same.

" He makes them go bye bye. Bad men breafh no more," he replied, the words seeming quite off for a five year old.

The answer was certainly not too common.

" Asher, does your uncle kill these bad men to protect you? Is that what you are saying?" He asked. The silence was sitting there for a while, but after a brief moment, Asher nodded to Chris's question. " Asher, can I ask a question? What's your papa's name?"

" Lucifer...." At the mere mention of the name, the book of Shadows started to freak out and shield itself.

Fandral of Asgard

" Well, that is an interesting answer. Master Chris your... book seems to be.... upset ? Very curious indeed. I am of course aware of those cre uhm, beings of power from that dimension. "

Fandral goes and gets himself an apple, using a belt knife to slice pieces off, offering to the others as he does so.

" I had heard of a version of this fellow who had retired, lived in Los Angeles running a bar. And as far as politics goes, in my own home dimension, many eons ago Asgard had a war with the 10th world, humans call Heaven. Nasty business really, Odin ended the conflict by separating that dimension from the other nine realms at the world tree. "

" In essence, I am willing to be.... at least partially open minded regarding this discovery. But, as we have discussed, this doesn't relieve our suspicions a bit does it. "

Well into the battle, a rather large figure approached the battlefield on a motorcycle.

The T-800 model stood up from the motorcycle and was holding what appeared to be a standard pump shotgun. Getting off of said motorcycle, the T-800 stood at around 6'2 and had the same cold dead stare on his face that he always had. Approaching the fighting group with a slow pace, the machine looked to Team Dark before turning to his intended targets. He first aimed the pump action shotgun towards the one known as "Dlanor", firing several shells at said attacker.

Rouge the Bat & E-123 Omega - Outer City

OmegaArsenal.jpg

After his initial target had been blown to smithereens, Omega set his sights on Dlanor once again while readying every single ounce of firepower he had at his disposal. "This is your final warning. Step no further or I WILL-"

"STOP!" Rouge screamed as she hastily swooped down in front of Omega to intervene, and wildly waved her hands left and right in a desperate attempt to defuse the violent situation, "Rouge, what are you doing?" inquired Omega, his droning voice betraying his confusion, "Diplomacy; now put all your toys away and throw those arms up, Tin Man!"

"Negative. I will not jeopardize your safety anymore than you already have."

The trained spy issued no rebuttal, instead filling the air with a dead silence that was broken only by the roar of an incoming vehicle's engine. With her large ears trained on the sound, Rouge gasped as a motorcycle wheeled into the lively ghost town. Omega's eyes snapped towards the ominous T-800 as it stepped off its ride, but he chose not to retaliate when the T-800 began firing upon his assailants. "Omega, do something!" Rouge commanded.

"Negative. Analysis of the situation suggests the best course of action, is to take no action," he refused in his strangely polite, mostly blunt manner. Rouge huffed.

"Then we disengage and regroup with Shadow!" she offered begrudgingly, "Our job here is done anyway,"

"Affirmative,"

With Omega finally in agreeance, Rouge took to the air to follow Shadow's trail, with Omega close behind on the ground. Along the way, Rouge activated her earpiece to notify the hedgehog of their new plan, "Shadow, Omega and I are escaping, and en route to regroup. What are your coordinates? Over,"

"On my way into The Undercity. Follow the road I took and watch for the first large tunnel on your left. Once you're inside, the path should be straightforward. Expect a large hostile presence," Shadow answered quickly, and right to the point.

Turning his attention upon his robotic assailants, Shadow threw his arm back and gathered energy up into his closed fist, ready to chuck a chaos spear at one before it spontaneously combusted! Clenching his teeth, the black hedgehog stood firm in the face of it, more than ready to face a much more capable foe...only for a walking box just over half his size to approach and begin rattling off about its protocols and processes. Its proposal, however, caught Shadow's ear, and got him to grin. "I was hoping you'd say something like that,"

At a moment's notice, Shadow dashed headlong into battle. He met the one robot head-on as it charged for him, and quickly chucked his spear of energy at its companion's legs before leaping at his primary target, growling "Chaos-" before disappearing, and reappearing right behind the sword robot to deliver a powerful kick straight the the back of its head, "Control!"

Upon landing, Shadow swiftly followed up on his disabling chaos spear, and bounced into a spinball, aiming to come crashing back down onto the boxing robot while it was recovering.

Watching Omega and Rouge flee from the scene, the Terminator conducted a scan on the assailant which he was attacking once the shotgun shells bounced off yet another assailant's shield.

terminator-scanning.jpg

(Note: This was the only good scanning image I could find that was the appropriate size)

Scans on the individual revealed that she was a member of the Coalition, which prompted the T-800 to place his shotgun back on his back via a nifty holder he had before sitting on the motorcycle once again. With one loud and vigorous roar, the engine cranked up before his bike sped off and down the tunnel along with Omega and Rouge. Once he reached them, he noticed that Shadow was fighting a barrage of hostile robots. Another scan revealed that these were in fact not made by the Coalition, which meant that the T-800 was clear to engage. As he was riding the mechanical bike, the T-800 model grabbed his shotgun with relative ease and took aim at the robots and fired several shells each of the robots almost nonchalantly.

The Inquisitor stopped in her tracks once realizing that another had took aim at her and fired. She was prepared to take care of those incoming bullets, but didn't have to waste the precious energy of the Red and Blue Keys as the Ashen One managed to deflect the bullets away with his shield. By that time however, Dlanor realized that this was the T-800 model that was specifically programmed to assist the Coalition, given that a single scan from him brought to light that she was a Coalition member. At least with that, their small skirmish had ended, and that they could focus on the impending robot threat developing in the Undercity.

"Let us make haste to the undercity's DEPTHS. I believe that those individuals from moments ago noticed something amiss with the machinery present THERE."

Knowing that the potential target was needed to be disposed of before the situation escalates with the surrounding robots, Dlanor made it clear that there was no time to waste, and advanced downwards in the Undercity.

Charon - Undercity

Just as others were arriving to see that Shadow was already engaging with some of the attacking robots, it appeared as if the robots weren't that smart or adaptive when it came to combat. Combined with the sudden gunfire from the T-800, the red-eyed machines were in full panic, attacking erratically with no direction to their movements. Most likely attacking themselves in response.

"S... scary... so s... scary..."

"Must... kill... must... die..."

"Do what she... says..."

Those were the notable words said from the panicking robots, almost becoming an eerie rhythm of robotic voices repeating the same lines over and over again. Surely with this type of behavior on these strange robots, it wouldn't take long to get rid of them before they do any real damage...

"Report: No matches to the data of unit 9S detected in available map regions, and will attempt a scan until said data is found. Warning: A mass of detected hostile machine lifeform signals located above current position. Proposal: Engage these enemies with ranged attacks."

The Pod would report on it's scannings and attempt to do so again to find 9S, but also warn the group that was already there or just arriving to the Undercity that there was incoming airborne machines. These appeared the same as the other robots on the ground, except it looked like they were forcefully jammed into a hover-like system to all them flight and what appeared to be artillery fire. The airborne artillery that these robots had shot out energy orbs, which gave off the notion of a magical substance and not a scientifically generated substance.

"KILL FOR THE QUEEN, AND WE SHALL BECOME GODS!"

"BECOME AS GODS! BECOME AS GODS!"

These airborne robots were more expressive through their chants and less fearful than their grounded counterparts, of which the grounded robots were hysterically killing each other off out of apparent fear, and thus the airborne robots were letting loose a mess of magical artillery fire at the supposed intruding group. Just as the Pod said, ranged attacks looked like the better strategy here if possible for those present.

@Takumi @LuckycoolHawk9

"Not one bit." Jasmine said in response to Fandral before taking an apple slice with a nod of thanks. Things had gotten rather strange, but she didn't mind one bit.

Dlanor A. Knox - Charon - Outer City

The Inquisitor stopped in her tracks once realizing that another had took aim at her and fired. She was prepared to take care of those incoming bullets, but didn't have to waste the precious energy of the Red and Blue Keys as the Ashen One managed to deflect the bullets away with his shield. Another overview scan from the T-800 revealed that the machines which had just arrived above the small group of Coalition members were in fact more hostile than the grounded robots, which obviously posed little to no threat. For the time being, he'd divert his focus away from the grounded robots screaming in terror and instead to the robots mid-air.

Lowering the speed on his bike so he could steady his aim on the flying mechanical assailants, the T-800 began to fire at them with his shotgun, still steering the bike with his left hand and firing the pump-action shotgun with his right hand.

Iris would look at the lich. "I can get you access to that back at Charon. Anyway, whatever's possibly tracking you can't find us in here. The first thing the GOC does is set up wards against any and all Multiversal magic." She glanced at a radio on a shelf and made a move towards it. "Our transports are warded as well. If anything wanted to track you and kill you, it'd have to track you to a vehicle, then get at us past several highly trained magical soldiers and several inches of lead-lined titanium-iron alloy." She stood by the radio. "Do you need anything else?"
