"You he equal responsibility in this." Said Landro while he walked and Alyssa turned her gaze down to the floor as she then followed Landro and he clenched her hands. Once they were outside of the council room, Landro held up the door to the both of them and waited for them to step inside.

Alyssa walked over to one of the chairs that was around the large round table and she placed her hands on her lap. She wasn't so much worried about herself, she could make it on her own if she wasn't allowed to stay, but she didn't want Jack to get into trouble, after all, they were only trying to do the right thing.

Jack nodded and walked inside of the room, his eyes widened
"I never thought it would be looking this amzing in here"
He realized his situation again and fell silent
He followed her and still wasn't sure what he would hear within the next minutes, but one thing was sure he was most likely not going to enjoy it
"Even if we are both responsible, it was my task to take care of her and I let hit happen, so I am the one at fault here"
he looked over to here
"Also it isn't too important what just happened! You are safe and that is what matters, we should try to make her learn how to control the magic so she can fight with us, side by side!"

"Silence!" Said Landro and Alyssa felt her heart almost stop for a moment due to his booming voice and she clenched her hands tightly on her lap. "It is not as simple as to just learn her to control her magic. Have you never wondered why healers are always protected even if they know magic? It is because their healing magic come at a price. In order to heal someone, they must themselves take a portion of the pain or wound that is tormenting the person they are healing. To use fire magic you will actually burn your own hand as a sacrifice in order to be able to use it, if you use frost magic, you freeze your own blood so that you can have it flowing through your veins. If you do it without thought, then you are sure to meet an early end." Said Landro as he explained and he then looked towards Alyssa. "I'm more than sure that your mother told you about it, Alyssa." He then said in an almost accusing manner and Alyssa remained silent. Landro let out a heavy sigh and he pinched the bridge of his nose. "You cannot use magic as you use a sword, there are many laws. Plus, we cannot allow the Onyx Serpents to get their hands on her. She is the only one standing in their way of taking full control. If they were to get her, the whole world would fall into chaos. See her as a magic gem, if you will. One that contains power that must be protected at all costs."

Alyssa looked down at her lap and she frowned sadly as she heard his words. "I'm sure you know what this means, Alyssa. I cannot allow you to leave the keep, not without escort around you." Said Landro and Alyssa merely showed a nod as she looked at her lap and then towards Jack before she looked at Landro again. "You're not... going to punish Jack, are you? I asked him to go after you..." She stuttered and Landro glanced at her. "I will not punish him. He did what he thought was right, but I advice you both to use caution. That Knight which returned could've been a spy sent out to lure the both of you out of this keep. Unless I send my hawk bearing a message, do not pursue what you hear. Am I understood?" He asked and Alyssa nodded once. "Yes Master Landro." She said.

He listened to the explanation of magic and felt bad for wanting to rush things, he looked at her as his word rang in his head 'See her as a magi gem'
"But I will not just see her as an item to save the world, she is not a gem, she is a human and you can't expect her not to learn more magic"
he looked at her once again
"Let me guard her, I will practice even more and I will be there so that she is able to do her part and I will be doing mine! I promise I will not act so reckless again but let me help with this!"
Jack was determined he wouldn't let anyone hurt her and defend her, he felt that this was his purpose and he was willing to give it all he had

"You would be wise not I get too attached to her, because in the end, all those that have been born with the purity to cleanse out the evil of this world, all share the same fate." Said Landro. "You will be allowed to be her personal bodyguard if she so chooses, presuming that you will train even harder. A day may rise soon where we will be called upon to fight for everything we hold dear." He then said. "I want him to guard me." Said Alyssa without an ounce of hesitation in her voice.

He smiled at her and looked at Landro determined to fulfill his duty
"I don't care what fate may come, her fate is now linked to mine and I will do more than just my very best to be worthy of this fate"
Jack was tired, the day was much shorter than it seemed to him, but he still wanted to talk to her, get to know what she knows
"Landro, is there anyone we can go to, so she can improve her magical powers in any way?"

"Her mother was the only skilled magistrix that lived nearby, so I'm afraid that all she has to go on is the books in our library. At this time I cannot risk a possible mentor also being a spy." Said Landro and he nodded once in acknowledgement towards Alyssa's words. "So be it then, Jack will serve as your personal guard. Now, both of you may leave and get yourselves something to eat. Jack, you are dismissed for the rest of the day to do as you please." He then said as he waved his hand in a dismissive manner.

Alyssa stood up and she then looked towards Jack while she showed a faint smile. "Shall we?" She asked.

"Yes, I will fulfill my duty"
Alyssa smiled, he was happy about that. It felt like it was them against all the evils of the world and he would not want to let her down
"Yes, m'lady"
Jack went to her and left the room with her
"Do you wish to rest, or do you want to go anywhere?"

"I am feeling slightly hungry and I bet you must be as well, considering the circumstances." She chuckled and she brushed a strand of hair behind her ear. "Thank you for agreeing to protect me." She said as she looked up at Jack while they walked and she smiled gently towards him, her hands now being twined together over her pelvis.

"Y-yes you are right, let us do that then. It is the least I can do for you"
Jack led the way towards a room, already filled with the smell of food
"If we are lucky some might still be left"
He looked at her and couldn't get his eyes of her for a little while, he wasn't thinking about it up until now, that the person he is going to protect is not just a magician but also a beauty, as he got a little distracted walking next to her he just barely avoided running into the door leading to the kitchen
he coughed slightly embarassed
"J-just chose from what is left, if you like any of it. If you wish for it we can cook something else, of course!"

She couldn't help but chuckle as he avoided the door and she looked at the food. "I've never been a picky one so I can eat almost anything." She said and soon a plate with meat, potatoes and some vegetables was handed to her which she gladly accepted.

"Where shall we sit down?" She asked as she looked at Jack.

He got some food as well, taking almost the same amounts of food and looked around trying to find an answer to her question
"Over there seems good, it has a window so it has a nice view"
He took her hand and dragged her there shortly after he asked her
"Do you want anything to drink?"
he asked waiting for her reply to get them something

"Just some water." She said with a small nod as she then placed down the plate with food on the table and she then sat down on one of the chairs. She looked outside for a moment as the sun rested just behind the mountain tops and she seemed amazed by the view. Even though the area around the Keep was covered with snow, the Keep itself was warm we it had been built over a few hot springs.

She began to eat her food while she appeared slightly lost in thought. What was this fate that Landro had spoken of?
She shook her head slightly to dismiss the thoughts and then turned her head in Jack's direction. "Why did you join the Order, if you don't mind me asking?"

He got them water and got surprised by her question
"Well, a few months ago our village was attacked by some sort of army...I don't know who it was but they killed everyone mercilessly, I was out with my little brother adventuring through the forest and as we came back we got caught by the men and in front of my eyes they killed my brother, seconds after Landro came there with his men and saved me...after that I just remember waking up here, it seems I was unable to move for almost a month before arriving here but at some point even that shock let go of me and ever since I joined the order hoping to prevent such cases from happening again."

Jack sighed but wasn't sad, he has gotten used to not have a family and Jack was okay with Alyssa knowing, he wanted her to know, to trust here as much as he can
finaly he sat down and poured some water in her cup and then into his own.
He started eating and looked at her.
"How comes someone as beautiful and noble like you ends up here?"
Jack was wondering, he didn't actualy know if she was a noble or not up until now.

"I'm... I'm sorry for your loss." She said and she looked down at her lap, she didn't know why, but she felt guilt over what had happened.
"I'm not actually a noble, my father was one of the Knights within the Order." She then said while nodding once. "It's just the... magic thing, I suppose, that even makes me remotely special." She added with a small sigh and she looked out the window. "To be honest, I would've preferred to stay as an unknown nobody than have the fate that's been handed to me." Alyssa said with a brief smile.

"Don't worry about it, I would have bet you are a noble...you could be a princess"
Jack chuckled imagining hear in such a make up
"I think you are special even without your magic, I haven't seen you cast it yet and I think you are special not matter what, you probably wouldn't have escaped beeing known the way you are it's just too special not to notice it"
He smiled and continued eating avoiding to look at her as he blushed a little

"A princess?" She asked in a surprised manner and she lowered her fork as she was to take a bite but instead began to chuckle. "I don't know about that." She said with a gentle smile before she continued to eat and she blushed at his words about her being special. "So how old are you then? My curiosity has been killing me for a while now." She said as she looked towards Jack.

"I think you would have made a great princess"
He ate up and finished his cup looking at her again, almost in a staring manner
"It should be 16 years now, mhm 16 years it is, and you m'lady? I was also wondering for some time now"

"Hardly, I don't have any manners when it comes to... nobility or so." She said while letting out a small chuckle. "I'm fifteen. It was my birthday just last week." She said with a gentle smile and she lowered her fork once she was done eating and she drank up the water in her glass before she looked out the window. "Judging by what Landro said, I won't be having much freedom." She said while a sigh escaped her lips.

Jack sighed at what she said
"Don't worry, I will make you endure it, we'll be going through that together"
He offered her a smile and took her plate and took her glass bringing everything back to the kitchen and afterwards turning to her
"I guess you will go your room now?"
Still wishing for them to not part and just be together he sighed slightly but knew it was inappropriate.
