CHAPTER ONE
"A Murder Mystery Role Play"

Approximately an hour had passed into the evening and already the party was quite lively. The feuds, the dancing, the insanity... it was hard to believe the party had only just begun. As Jade had promised, he had an event planned this evening, and it was his goal to start it off before the feast commenced. Gathering himself on stage, the hotel proprietor was once again basked in the light of twin spotlights. The man waited patiently for his guests to settle down before speaking.

"Such lively guests I have this evening! Quite a delight you all have been so far... Hopefully, you'll enjoy the event I have planned just as much as I have enjoyed all of you." Jade almost sounded bubbly. Whatever he had planned, he was excited for it. He gestured with his hand toward the crowd, pointing out Rowen Ilbert, the sole human server. Rowen nodded and began to make his way to the bar. "Our gracious butler will be assisting me for this event. We will draw names to pick out players in the game. What is it, you may ask? Why, it's a pretend murder mystery! Guests chosen to participate will be given a role they have to play, and one of these roles will secretly be our killer. Participants will investigate the clues laid out before them and then will perform in a mock trial at the end of our evening! All our guests will be watching, so please try and make it dramatic!"

Having left the back room of the bar, Rowen was making his way on to the stage now with a closed basket. On the top was a hole large enough to fit one's hand inside. "Here we are!" Jade exclaimed. While Rowen held out the basket in front of him, Jade reached a hand into the hole on top.

"Remember, if your name is called, participation is mandatory!" With a flourish of his hand, Jade pulled out the first name and read it intently.

"First we have Peashy... Then..."

***

By the time Jade was finished, almost fifty names had been called. The guests not chosen were told to continue waiting for the feast while those chosen were brought into another section of the hotel. Your destination was the lobby, a pristine and elegant place that served as the waiting area for guests of the hotel renting out rooms.

YLE15lv.jpg

"Thank you all for joining me this far," Jade said once everyone was gathered around him. "I know some of you chosen have had a few issues with each, but let's try and put all that aside for the sake of having some fun, shall we?"

1jk0W71.png

"I am happy to oblige, Mr. Curtiss."

Nodding, Jade gestured to the double doors behind him. "Rowen will stay here to set up the mystery. I will escort the rest of you to your rooms. There, you will be locked and given your role to read and practice. You'll find a card in your room. Once you hear a knock at your door, it's time to start the game. Respond to the knocks and your doors will be unlocked. After this, you're to proceed back to the lobby."

MUCPfEW.png

"Then, you'll perform an investigation before proceeding back to the banquet hall for this night's feast!"

Even if some of you weren't into playing this game, Jade's words seemed strangely convincing. There was nothing that had happened so far to indicate something weird was up. It was probably best just to follow along in order to not cause any issues. Besides, it's not like you'd miss the feast.

***

Once everyone had been shown to their rooms, you would find that the role cards that Jade said would be inside to be missing. Perhaps plans had changed? Regardless, the knock on your door would come soon enough. On your way to the lobby, nothing seemed really out of the ordinary...

However, the same couldn't be said for the lobby itself. A quick examination would reveal an unsettling sight: Rita Mordio lay motionless on the lobby's floor. She was at the side of the room in a puddle of what appeared to be blood. It's not entirely unexpected as this was meant to be a mock murder mystery, right?

HKu2anc.png

Except, as Jade walks in to greet your group, he looks confused upon seeing Rita.

dYZy9CY.png

"That is... very strange." Moving across the lobby, Jade came to stand over Rita. Letting out a sigh, the man raised a hand to his face and adjusted his glasses. "Everyone, I advise you to stay calm and under no circumstances should you leave this room until I've finished talking. Rita was not to be our pretend victim tonight... it appears she's been murdered for real." Looking over the group, Jade seemed to be deeply thinking about something. "... I will check with the Prinnies just to be sure, but no one else but this group and the other employees of the hotel should have had access to this part of the hotel. So..."

Looking back down at Rita, Jade nodded. "So, someone in this room is likely the killer."

seULCvQ.png

"This can't get back to the party. This night is for Lady Melodia, and she deserves a pleasant evening. This stays between the people in this room. I will contact the authorities when the night is over, but that may be too late... So, hm. All right. Obviously, our pretend murder mystery has been cancelled, as it seems a real one must be solved. Interesting, isn't it? If and of you have nothing to hide, then you are obligated to assist. Obviously, I will help best I can."

Leaning down next to Rita's body, Jade examined the girl closely. "I'll need help looking the body over. Some of you check out the room for anything else that might assist us. If you leave to go back to the party, under no circumstances are you to tell the other guests. A panic could start and make our personal investigation impossible."

With your current situation as it was, you had a few options to you. Would you investigate Rita's body? Check for wounds? Search her pockets?

Perhaps you would look around the body for clues?

If you wished, Jade didn't seem to mind if you wanted to head back to the party, but telling anyone of the that a real murder had occurred instead of a fake one was forbidden.

Before the war, Sarah studied Law. She had just gotten her Law Career started when the bombs fell. She could defend herself or anyone who was found to be the Culprit. Innocent until Proven Guilty. She also investigated bodies thoroughly in the Wasteland. She knew what to investigate.

Sarah Knelt over the body to investigate it. she first went through her pockets and then checked for wounds.
Raven and Rose listened and noticed the body and both nodded then moved to examine it. "I wonder what happened." Rose asked. Raven sighed not really going to ask such a question when they cold find out.

To say ChromeSkull was a bit on edge after the murder of the kid was like saying the ocean was a bit wet. Pulling Ghostface towards him with his drink in hand, ChromeSkull quickly typed up a message and held it in his face.

DO YOU UNDERSTAND WHAT THIS MEANS, MICKEY?

Ghostface looked over his shoulder and then back at Rita's corpse.

lNklNBI.png

"..We didn't do that did we?"

NO. WE DIDN'T. NOW KEEP YOUR MOUTH SHUT.

Truth be told ChromeSkull wasn't sure who killed this brat. But he sure as hell wasn't being framed for this. Ghostface could take all the heat, sure but not him. Which is why ChromeSkull started to head towards Rita's body for any kind of clues.

1BKVgiE.jpg

Mickey also didn't think he killed this girl. Killing without a purpose was fun at times. But not when you ran the risk of being in the same company as a being who could drag you down to hell.

"Chrome, you better figure this out. I'm not ready to meet the Devil yet. I still have so much I want to do!"

That was what someone who had just seen a murder would think right? It was hard getting into the headspace of the same people he usually gutted with a hunting knife.

"..." Kiritsugu simply observed the scene for a bit in silence, trying to get a gist of the surrounding area. Once that was done he instantly heads to investigate the body. Knelling down next to it he said to the others "Female, Dressed as Servant... Unless if she's more than meet's the eye I would suspect this is someone sick sense of having fun with us, seeing as this was meant to be a game. Those of you who came here simply to fool around I suggest you leave, this is no place for you. Those willing to take a matter seriously though? Come forward, help will be required".

Meanwhile Gilgamesh didn't even flinch at the sight of the dead body... Not like Kiritsugu did either. If anything though Gilgamesh got a small smirk on his face, but this basically confirmed it... This was another murder games. Though suddenly he heard a familliar voice... Kiritsugu! He was here this whole time? And now he's ordering everyone around? He stepped forward and proclaimed "Hmph! You dare order me around Emiya? Lest you forgot you lost last time we met, and now you don't even have your Servant Arthur! What authority do you have?".

To which Kiritsugu only sighed... "Going to make this difficult then?". Rising to meet Gilgamesh eye to eye he said coldly "Last I recall, you lost the Holy Grail. Right in your grasp and I took it from you. I'd hardly call that a victory. And look, I don't care for Arthur either. She was powerful, but a fool. But she at least had a sense of purpose, urgency and knew when to not only take situation seriously, but show basic respect and care to people... If you want to flaunt your ego and Gates about since no one loves you be my guest, but I have actual matters to attend to. So get in line, or get out of my face". Then kneeling back to the body he added in "Oh, and if you're thinking of attacking me... Please take note of our vast array of guest... Someone here would take you down, and that wouldn't be nice, would it?".

Tch! Gilgamesh could only clench his teeth in anger at this. The nerve! That man dared speak to him like that? Knowing full well his power and worth? But admitingly Kiritsugu did have a point, correcting his disrespect would simply get him killed. So instead he simply stated "Hmph! Play with your corpses then! I shall look for actual evidence!" before going to look around the body.

Hajime couldn't help but groan as the party's festive nature officially broke down in the wake of the murder's discovery. I knew this would go badly... At least it wasn't me or Slavya this time... "Come on, everyone, let's get to work," His tone was one of grim determination, and a notebook and pen were already in his hand. Where he had pulled the tools from, only he knew, but it seemed he always carried them with him.

As he approached the body without any sort of disgust or horror, he knelt down and began to examine Rita's body, "First off, introductions as we examine the body. My name is Hajime Hinata, former Hope's Peak Academy student and murder mystery hobbyist. I have experience with this sort of tragedy." Hard not to when your friends killed each other one after another in two different simulations, one virtual and one strangely real... "Saitama, I know this is sudden... but choose someone to watch the crime scene with you, please."

WV0E0ft.jpg

He had entered his room rather joyfully, a sink and water to wash off the goddamn cheese from his fins before they got sticky and disgusting on his pristine white skin. Shame he couldn't share a room with Wadanohara, but it was a murder mystery game and he had to follow the rules. Unfortunately, with mandatory attendance, it would mean he needed to walk around as one of them. Sal wished he could stay like this as a shark for a while longer, but it would certainly be an disadvantage with his lack of hands. He wouldn't be able to hold onto anything!
Sal_%28humanoid_form%29_30.png

The fact that a real murder had occurred was uncalled for though. A lifeless body on the floor surrounded by their own blood. Anyone in the room could have done it. Now the night truly was getting more interesting. "Poor thing," the shark man sighed, watching as some members of their large party began to examine the body. He decided to walk around room searching for clues.

Well this was interesting.

So far, Tracer had little to complain all things considered. She had some nice punch, a few fine biscuits, and even a smile from an arguably cute girl! Giving the young woman a brief salute, the pilot looked about, noticing some of the guests gather around, the host and hostess of this hotel beginning to converse. OVERWATCH apparently had sensed something off with this abnormality, and all things considered, the whole concept of space-time travelling was still new. But, as always, she had faith in Winston, who had saved her life from being a literal ghost.

"Eh first one to the pop, last one a zot, up up lets get a movin'!" the woman encouraged the others, quite fond of the idea of having a game. Games were fun, right? It'd be like playing billiards or even chess! As much as she didn't have the patience or attention-span of chess, the Englishwoman always proudly boasted about beating some silly Irishman in a game of chess with a "posh" accent. Grabbing the exposed neck-folds of her aviator jacket, the speedster zipped and zoomed away to her dorm room, a giggle echoing as the upbeat gunslinger awaited.

Gleefully taking her card and rushing out of the door, Tracer was just beginning to think this was the time of her life! No crazy, mask-wearing mercenaries to worry about, only the bliss of a fun game with arguably strange...ermm, strangers! Keeping her agile state, the woman rushed down the narrow corridors, weaving and dodging past the others in her sheer glee to be the first one at the scene.

"O', excuse me lad! A'ye, 'pologies, oi, sor'ry 'or smackin' ye in yer Khybar Pass! Didn't mean it, honest!" was all the narrow corridor seemed to emulate, Tracer's swift and energetic voice uttering with such an unbearably happy tone. Skidding to a swift stop, waving her arms about haphazardly, the woman's lips churned into a frown, recoiling back at the sight. Soon, the OVERWATCH agent was no longer playing a game, but rather, seeing a familiar sight that had haunted her as with everyone else in OVERWATCH.

Death

Looking down, the spiky-haired aviator sighed, clenching her fists together. Snatching her Pulse Pistols, the Englishwoman looked about precariously, speaking aloud to those around her.

"The world could use more heroes ye know. Keep a look out ev'ryone. Gibbers, I thought I'd seen the last of...well, this 'ere." the Cockeny-accented woman commented, investigating around the body. But, mostly, Tracer was acting as a patrol, filling in the role of a heroine and protector for those that could not meet such a demand. Even in this hotel, the arguably uptight and morally good heroine kept her ideal identity- a true agent of OVERWATCH.

"Well, that's good. You two seemed pretty close when we left the camp..." Hajime murmured as he slipped another bite into his mouth before nodding at Saitama, "Yeah, she's Neo, Saitama... And sorry if I upset you earlier with asking about you being popular..." At least you didn't help commit genocide, Saitama, so you have that going for you.

tumblr_inline_mr6cqdo4Tk1qz4rgp.png

Suddenly, Hajime's attention was taken away from him as he spotted Slavya in the crowd approaching, her uncertain question carried by her beautiful voice. A soft smile tilted the corners of his mouth as he shook his head at her question, "Weird penguins blowing up... Neo splashing a jerk with her drink... No, you didn't miss much, Slavya, seeing as you're the life of the party now."

"Oh, and this is Saitama, a superhero," Hajime explained after that quick compliment, looking to the bald man, "Saitama, this is Slavya, m-my girlfriend." For some reason, he still hadn't gotten used to calling Slavya his girlfriend. Thankfully though, he had managed to say it this time without much of a pause, "Anyways, Slavya, there hasn't been much to do besides get food and drink. There's supposed to be a special event soon, but who knows when that'll start."

@Verite @The Great Detective @york
tumblr_inline_mfy8cve7sc1qf6dad.png

"Oh, don't worry... It's nothing..." Saitama simply said with a melancholic tone in response to the comment about his popularity.

They probably still haven't forgiven me for destroying most of Z-City. Not my fault that meteor I punched out broke into several parts. Jeez, it's almost like they think I helped commit genocide.

...

Well, good thing no one died. That's all I'm good with.

When Slavya would appear, Saitama would give the girl a wave, before continuing to dig into his ice cream.

"Yo."

Again, it wasn't like he was really bored or anything. He was just... neutral. And his neutral state, ever since becoming too strong that no fight ever proved to be a challenge anymore, was just kinda... dead inside. Not his fault though.

@The Yuletide Tactician @york @The Great Detective @Alyto
tumblr_inline_n9p1aspzYe1subh1h.png

"... They don't appreciate you, do they? You try to help them now, but you don't get the recognition?"

It seemed Hajime was keeping a close eye on Saitama, making an assumption like that. However, before Saitama could reply back, he shrugged before grabbing a drink, "Sorry, jumping the gun there. Just forget what I said if it was wrong or you don't want to talk about it."

@york @The Great Detective @Alyto @Verite
UuQveDH.gif

"Well... When you kinda put it like that, it sounds a little unheroic of me," Saitama responded, before giving a sigh, "Even though I'm considered a professional hero now, I'm mostly just a hero for fun. For a hobby. I never really cared about what other people thought just as long as I make sure they're alive and well. But... well, y'know, it eventually does get kinda annoying when I don't get any credit. Especially when it's your own disciple taking all the fame. Bet all the girls like him for his hair..."

"Don't worry. You're fine. Not often I get to talk about stuff like this. Not that I worry about it or anything. Really, at this point, the main thing I worry about is finding an enemy strong enough to hold his own against me."

Following suit, Saitama would proceed to pour himself some sake, and then... down the hatch it went! Normally, he'd much prefer tea. But like anyone, sometimes, alcohol helped a lot.

@The Yuletide Tactician @york @The Great Detective
tumblr_inline_n9p1850srp1subh1h.png

For the entirety of Saitama's rant, Hajime nodded along with an attentive expression, taking his words seriously. He noted down each detail of his word, making sure he understood the pain that the superhero was experiencing. Finally, once Saitama finished up and downed a cup of sake, the former Ultimate Despair piped up once again, "No, no, it's not unheroic... It's human, Saitama."

"Even when you've got powers like you do, it makes sense that sometimes, things just wear you down eventually. It especially sucks when it's because of your hobby that you're in pain like you are, but... Don't worry, Saitama. People will someday realize the good you do for them, whether it's out of fun or out of duty. They'll realize who the real hero is, and you'll get your justice. You've just got to have hope, you know?"

"Oh, and don't worry, there are some women who love bald guys," He finished with a smile, trying to end with a joke with an edge of truth, "Anyways, I know it's a little weird since we just met... But if you need to talk anymore, I'm here for you, Superman."

@york @The Great Detective @Verite
tumblr_inline_mqm4wrRd0w1s5ig4s.png

As Hajime spoke, Saitama seemed to really consider the younger man's words. Human, huh? Yeah... maybe. After everything Saitama had done, and looking at what he was capable of, it was easy to forget... He was honestly just as human as everyone else. But, almost like Superman himself, it was easy to forget that because to normal people, he was like a god among men.

Well, technically, Superman was an alien, but whatever. That's different.

Though Saitama would seem to take Hajime's words to heart, it didn't look like his facial expression changed much to signify this, though he would still speak once that was over with.

"Huh, maybe. That's pretty deep. You a psychologist or something, kid?" He would inquire curiously, though before he would be able to hear Hajime's answer, his attention would be drawn away over to Peashy.

"You know, you're not the first person to think that." Well, okay, Fuyuhiko did say Ultimate Counselor instead of Psychologist, but same difference. He shook his head with a sigh, "But no, that's... too stressful of a job. I'm just good at listening, I guess."

WV0E0ft.jpg

I have experience with this sort of tragedy." Eventually though, she spoke up again, looking to have recovered a little "Glad I could find you here..." she said, smiling a bit, she gave Saitama and Neo a little wave, about to greet them before suddenly remembering something, and looking around a few times.

"Hey! Did anyone see Yulia around? She... Took off just as we got here."
Slavya said, looking a little worried, then she blinked a few times, remembering that not everyone here knew who Yulia was... "Oh! She has cat ears and a tail... She shouldn't be that hard to miss." She added, cocking her head to the side as she tried to remember where Yulia had run off to...

WDz76gR.png

Yulia in the meantime seemed to be getting just a bit impatient as she waited for Gaster to finally answer her question, her tail swayed from side to side, and her ears sort of drooped... Though, they suddenly perked up when they were suddenly being informed about a murder mystery taking place... It sounded rather familiar; almost like that strange game that Aku had played with them, one they had managed to thwart, by breaking the rules a little... As she joined Slavya, thankfully resolving her confusion for the moment, they both listened as the details of the event were plotted out... It looks like they were meant to head to their rooms in order for the event to be prepared, and, well, Slavya didn't seem to mind; maybe she wanted to spend a bit of time alone with Hajime? Or, she was just a bit frazzled about getting here late... Though, Yulia seemed to have this strange look on her face, as if she knew something would go wrong very soon, but, she didn't say anything yet...

What was most immediately apparent about Rita's body was the large slash across her throat. Around her head were shards of a mirror. Just next to the body was a broken mirror, so it was likely the pieces went to that mirror. In Rita's pockets was a piece of crumpled up paper and some electronic wiring.

A red gem embedded into a piece of jewellery around Rita's neck was cracked.

It was hard stepping around Rita's body with all the blood around her. "I'll need to have a Prinny clean this up as soon as possible," Jade muttered.

Well, it seemed like whoever had done this may have used a glass shard. ChromeSkull wasn't a genius by any stretch of the imagination but he didn't see it as too far a gap to jump in trying to decipher just how this kid was offed. If that was the case than that crossed Mickey off his list as far as he was concerned. Guy was practically attached to that knife of his.

But the question still remained. Why kill the kid of all people? Why not someone more important like that Jade guy? He was helping to run this whole thing wasn't he? Might have had more of a profound impact if he'd bit it. To the others in any case, ChromeSkull was just more concerned with him and Mickey being pinned with this. At least Mickey had managed to do that much and keep his mouth shut about their true profession.

Still, that left Kido in the equation. But she was cunning enough to escape from the two of them. Surely, she'd be able to see that it'd be much too obvious to just throw the blame on the two of them.

Making his way over to ChromeSkull, Ghostface knelt down and reached inside the kid's pockets.

"If the kid's the one who went bye-bye, maybe she had something on her worth killing her for? What's that paper say on it, supes?" Unlike Hajime, Ghostface meant Supes to be take in a derogatory manner than a compliment. Something about the way the guy looked just seemed to come off as just asking for some ridicule. Even if there was a murder to solve and him and ChromeSkull were two serial killers which probably meant they had more at stake here than any of the others.

Pulling out what seemed to be electronic wiring, Ghostface tilted his head to the side. "What the hell was this doing in there..?"

"Burnt?" Sal pondered, as he inspected the table. Many guests were invited to the the party, many of them having abilities or weapons capable of causing a small fire, enough to sear a table like this. With a gloved finger, he rubbed the burnt areas of the table, frowning to himself. "Do we even have any guests who have fire-orientated abilities? We can start from there, perhaps~" The shark rubbed his chin, "Maybe those wires had something to do with it?"

BogeyMurphy looked at the body disinterestedly for a moment and shook his head

As he walked past the pair of murderers, it was as if a shock chord played, a sound they were both no doubt familiar with. That sharp, sudden spike of sound that played when a jumpscare happened in a horror movie
As he turned to them, for a split second, they'd have a glimpse of the beast's true face
tumblr_n8ge7fE9541qegjq5o1_400.png

"What a fine evening this is turning out to be" he murmurs "But I suppose all three of us are used to seeing corpses, aren't we?"

With that ominous nugget of wisdom, he strode into the crowd, melting away without a trace

Kido wasn't feeling too good with the whole murder thing. A simulation would be fine, but a real one was quite a bit different. She was tempted to go rejoin the party, but she couldn't just leave the murderer free. Speaking of which, there were two murderers right in this room, weren't there?

It was them! Someone, arrest them!

...Was what she'd like to say, but at least in public the two hadn't made a move yet. And she had no real evidence anyway. But, if it was even possible, her suspicions of the two rose further, which really said something considering they tried to kill her.

If it wasn't them, it had to be somebody else, so Kido figured she'd take a look at the body. Unfortunately, the aforementioned serial killing duo were there, which made her heavily reconsider. Seeing some superhero type there though, she felt a little safer, even if the costume was just for show. Trying to avoid contact with the others, she tried to look at the mirror pieces to see if there was anything interesting or useful about them.

"Right then, let's begin this investigation!"

With that declaration, Hajime's eyes darted about the crime scene, taking it all in as his pen scratched against the paper of his notebook. Victim is Rita, redhead. Last seen by Saitama, myself, and Morrigan most likely. Saitama is reading the paper, therefore, read it after he does to prevent him lying with it. Carefully, Hajime began to check each piece of the shattered mirror for blood, in case they were the murder weapon, "The victim was killed most likely by the slash across the neck. Therefore, the mirror shards and any tools or weapons with blades brought by guests are possible murder weapons. Gentlemen and ladies," his eyes glanced to Slavya and Yulia, "Do any of you have a knife, sword, or any other blade of some kind?"

The blood on the stairs formed a trail right up to the second floor. It continued further to a set of double doors. Opening them would reveal... a second dead body. Rowen Ilbert lay motionless against the wall of the hallway, the back of his head leaning back to rest against the wall.

The table was still hot, so it was burned recently. How it only got burned isn't clear, nor is it clear why whatever was done to it didn't burn away the wooden table completely. Next to the broken vase is a book of what appeared to be strange math formulas.

On the crumpled paper was a note that read:

- AVOID MELODIA
- Figure out light
- Talk to Mr C

Standing up, Jade looked at the electronic wiring in Ghostface's hand. "... Rita was an engineer. She maintained various machines within the hotel. It's really not strange at all for her to have that on her person."

As for the mirror on the wall, it was now askew. It was broken, looking as if something impacted it at its center. The shards on the ground were mostly covered in blood just by being around the body. Of those laying in Rita's blood, it's hard to see which one cut her throat, if any of them were used at all.

Around the room were a few points of interest. The table in the center of the room looked burned and a broken vase lied next to the table. Stairs leading up to the second floor of the lobby had what appeared to be blood on it.

Jade looked over at Peashy. "You may go back to the party if you wish, but please keep a low profile."

Before Morrighan had a chance to converse further with her newfound companions, the ballroom was swept with a wave of energy as Jade returned to the stage. In the tumult of shuffling bodies and scurrying prinnies, Morrighan lost the group before being able to introduce herself properly. Jade announced their rather peculiar game, and after a short period of waiting, it had seemed to Morrighan that the game had begun. However, as she drew close to the body of the girl, it became increasingly apparent that this was no playful ruse. As a goddess, Morrighan was rather adept at sensing the life forces of all living creatures. Death, or rather the absence of a life force, also had its own distinct quality. The girl's body was grey and silent, causing a dull pang in Morrighan's gut. She took great pity upon the child.

A few moments later, Jade appeared to confirm her suspicions. He explained that the body was not part of their planned faux-murder mystery. What a strange turn of events, Morrighan thought. She paused to consider the implications of the events that had taken place, wondering how it might effect what was to come next. Morrighan's thought was interrupted by a crimson flicker of the gem around Rita's neck. It was beautiful, but a long and black thread-like fracture had spread across its surface. Morrighan leaned closer to study the gem in greater detail, wondering what details, if any, it could offer about the girl's untimely death.

Hajime's eyes narrowed at the broken mirror and the bloody shards, crossing a line out of his hypothesis, "The mirror... I think that it was broken by her body, so the shards weren't the weapons..." If those aren't the weapons... That means someone slashed her neck in some other manner. His eyes went around the entire group, searching for someone to present a weapon of some kind, "Any volunteers...?"
