Billy reached out instinctively and yelled at once, which in turn caused a blue barrier to appear between Star and Jack. Billy's eyes glowed a bright blue as he took a few steps toward Star. "What are you doing? He's a civilian. His back was turned to you!"

Tommy took a few steps toward the pair. "Woah, look--" He looked at Star, sizing her up. "She's just a kid. Didn't know better."

"We can't screw around, here," Billy said pleadingly. He took a deep breath, blinking until his eyes stopped glowing and the barrier was dispelled. "None of us are in our home worlds. We invaded this guy's ship, and for what appears to be a pretty mundane world, he's taking it pretty well. He really doesn't have to do anything for us."

Billy made a frustrated noise and looked away. "I mean, he was annoying me too, but still. Come on."

Right now America wanted to throw this Jack guy overboard, but at the possibility of him telling the truth... "Well do we really need the sails? What if we just...pulled the ship forward?"​

"Oh stop it you're makin' me blush! Actually if you could keep it up I wouldn't mind that one bit actually." Captain Jack replied to Killian, assuming of course that he meant Jack. "And that would be wonderful, there should be one left somewhere...probably...hopefully."​

"Y'know, I always thought that pirates were gonna be cool. You're just lazy and boring." Star said flatly in a somewhat disappointed tone.

"And you are ruinin' my captain work." Jack responded back to Star. "Would I be lazy and boring if I did this?" He turned his back to the group and tried to get back to sleep.​

"I'm sure...Killian was it? Can help us with the ship." Songbird replied turning to Killian. "This ship looks like it's going to fall apart at any minute but we can do this...right?"

"If you are going to pull this hunk of junk I'll find us some rope. Or push whatever floats your boat."​

Had Killian Jones not been on his best behavior right now, trying to contain himself in front of Star and Emma, he would've kicked the hammock out from under that man and put a sword to his throat. Oh how he wanted to make that pirate look in his eyes and learn that he wasn't any man's servant. He was the captain here. Nevertheless, Killian intended to reply to the man, agreeing to his suggestion, but cut himself off when Songbird would ask for his assistance. About bloody time. Whether they trusted him or not, Killian was up for offering his genuine assistance. More often than not, he actually was trustworthy if he had the same goal in mind as his comrades.

"Aye, I'm your man," he replied to Songbird before turning to Jack. "Sorry, mate, you'll have to get someone else to fetch your rum for you. Besides, it's not a job befitting a captain like myself." Glancing back to Songbird he added, "It's not ideal, but we may be able to make it work. She's fragile, so we'll obviously have to treat her gently, but we can damn well try. I've successfully sailed heaps of junk just as awful."

He glanced to Star, frowning when she would make her comment about thinking pirates were gonna be cool. She didn't mean him too, did she? Well, he had been acting a bit soft lately. Killian hoped that he wasn't tarnishing his reputation due to his clearly obvious attraction to Emma. "Not all pirates, lass. Don't loop me in with him. If you do, I may have to start behaving more..." Killian trailed off, dragging his hook along the side of the doorway he stood in. "...like a real pirate."

Killian found himself just as surprised when Star would attempt to attack Jack. Even he hadn't acted on his urges to attack the man. It amused him, but Billy shouting at the girl afterwards didn't. He stepped toward Billy, glaring at him. He was a bit protective over Star and didn't care for that sort of behavior directed at her. "As your ally said, Star is a child. Raising your voice at her is not wanted nor needed. The man didn't even notice she attacked him and he is uninjured thanks to your efforts. No harm done, if you ask me." He glanced to Star, frowning deeply before he would place a hand on her shoulder. "Lass, be more careful next time. This man isn't worth your trouble." Who would've thought he'd be the one giving out such advice? Usually, he was the one acting on his feelings of hate when it came to anyone he didn't like.

"Uurgh..." It was lucky Zé was already green, as this boat's rocking and rolling would make him feel the same. "The sooner we hoist these sails, the better..."

"Hoistin' sails?" Tigger's ears perked at the task, a smile on his face. "Why, hoistin' sails is what Tiggers do best!" Bouncing out on the deck, he looked around. "Now uh, where exactly are these sails that need the hoistin'?"

"If you want to be her parent," Billy said, looking halfway between embarrassed and hurt, "then maybe I shouldn't be the one you're glaring at." Without fanfare, Billy rose into the air and flew off to examine the tops of the sails as a sign of being done with the conversation.

"He certainly would have noticed if Billy hadn't protected him, but I guess he's the bleeding heart type, huh?" Tommy then appeared next to the edge of the ship as he looked at the horizon. "Man, what a view. I've never actually been on a boat like this. You think there's some gear lying around for us to dress a bit more... appropriately?"

Tommy was digging the idea of actually becoming a pirate, at least for a little while.

[Crow]

The man continued to snore heavily even after the hat was removed. He smelled heavily of booze and things you wouldn't want to put a name to.​

Finally the mans eyes opened and the glanced over to the group...

Only to roll over to his side and continue sleeping.​

"The rum is gone and the wenches are gone. Is only me left on the high seas." Then like a sudden thought came to him he turned back towards the gathered crowd. "Wait a tic...when did you come in? Didn't you see the door was closed?" Then he realized his hat was gone and he quickly snapped it back from Xehanort as he got up on very shaky feet.

"Can't anyone get any privacy anymore?"

"Yeah well, we landed on your ship and with no crew here we just got curious." Songbird replied to the man.

America too spoke up. "Who are you anyway and what are you doing in the middle of the ocean with a boat like this?"

The man looked almost hurt that America didn't know who he was. "The Fool's Errand isn't as much a boat rather than a very huge stick. Little miss I'll 'ave you know that you're in the presence of the greatest pirate who 'as ever sailed the seven seas! Captain Jack Sparrow! And why I'm alone well..." Captain Jack just shrugged. "Difference of opinion really."​

"We are but...we need to plan it out. We need something...a trump card against Thanos before we can even think about it." America replied as she listened to the two brothers. When Tommy finished she just shrugged. "Right now I'm just along for the ride. Or that's how it feels anyway. It's not like I thought: Oh how cool would a boat be right now! So the question right now is if I even can jump to Thanos if I wanted to."​

"Everyone wants to be on my crew!" Captain Jack exclaimed. "Until they don't but that's not important." For the second question he pointed towards Speed. "'Fraid not, mate. Green boy over there got it right. Ah'm on a one man quest for great treasure! The crew didn't agree, but this will be the greatest treasure in our life time!"​

"'Tis true..." He responded solemnly before grinning. "How lucky am I then for the fates to grant me another crew!"

Songbird looked around before pointing back at herself. "You mean...us?"

"Aye! Hoisting sails! Swabbing decks! I promise I'll make it worth your while. We'll split the treasure...seventy-thirty!"

"We're not interested in any treasure. All we are here for, probably, is to find a heart of light."

Don't need treasure? Great! Captain Jack was happy he didn't have to share. "I wont share then, begrudgingly of course but...What is this...heart of light thing? Sounds quite...borin'."

America looked at the rest of the thinking real hard about if she should tell him about everything that's happened. She decided not to. "It's kind of a metaphor, you know someone with a kind strong heart."

Captain Jack stroked his beard for a moment before answering. "I know one of those! Help me find my treasure and I'll help you find one of those metapoor thingies."

"Fine...what should we do then?"

"Go down to the brig and see if you can find another rum bottle." He said this as he made his way back to the hammock. "I'm getting really dry in my mouth from all of this talkin'."

"That it?" Songbird replied annoyed that they seemed to be treated as servants. "What about getting this actual ship moving?"

"Oh yeah...hoist the sails maybe?"

"I'm pretty sure no one here actually knows how to do that."

"Then this will be the perfect learning experience!" Captain Jack said getting comfortable in his hammock. "When it's done I'll come do the important part. Holding the wheel to our destination!"​

"I could be wrong, did I at least get the pesky pet part right?" Herbert asks, looking around to see if this 'Captain Jack Sparrow' had any pets.

It wasn't Rockhopper, but it certainly was another kind of bird.

While others were hoisting sails, Herbert had some enquiries of his own.

"A Sparrow, huh? You don't really look like one," Herbert questions. He never did figure what a human was, after all. "I wish to know what this important treasure is. The Golden Puffle? The Ruby? Something better than the two combined? If we're going to be part of your crew, we should know what's in store. As long as it's not something cheesy like 'the true meaning of friendship', I'll definitely hop in."

"He's offering us a clue to the heart in exchange for finding the treasure," Tommy said to the bear. "Even if it is the true meaning of friendship, I don't think we have a better option. Unless, of course, if Miss America here decides to whisk us away to somewhere new. Personally, I'm ready for us to lay low and get our pirating on."

"I'm nobody's parent," Killian hissed in reply to Billy before he would head off, defensive on the topic. Sighing, he decided to move from his spot and join Tommy, looking out over the horizon while he had a chance. "Never, eh? Well, there's nothing like it, mate," Killian stated, endearment in his voice as he would watch the waves below. "There is no better feeling than being out on the open seas. I'll tell you with sincerity, my ship is the one and only love of my life." When Tommy would question whether or not this boat had some pirate gear lying around, Killian smiled. "If it's a proper ship, then perhaps."

Herbert then remembers Xehanort's words.

"... free of hate..."

"- on second thought, that does kind of make sense. Can't believe I just said that."

Herbert then grins.

"Looks like we have enough people hoisting the sails. I'm going to opt to... clean the cannons. They're probably dirty after firing so many cannonballs."

Herbert clearly wanted to do more than just clean them.

Marco, who had gotten over his seasickness and rejoined the group, leaned back over to Hiro and shrugged.

"Yeah, but she grows on you after a while." Marco said as he watched the events transpire before them. He was about to jump in and stop Star, but then Billy intervened.

Now normally Star would have just shot back with some classic teenage sass, but the fact that her boyfriend was feeling better made her think of an even better, more diabolical idea.

"Oh I'm sniffle sorry." She said as she put on most convincing sad face she could and even made her tears well up by simply thinking about sad things like hurt unicorns or sad puppies. And wouldn't ya know it, her plan worked.

Marco, being the nice guy he is, took his arm and placed it right around the princess' shoulder, with Star not hesitating to take this opportunity to bury her face in her boyfriend's shoulder and fake-cry.

"Nice going dude. You made her cry." Marco said to Billy in an annoyed tone before turning to Star, his expression and tone lightening a bit as he gave her a reassuring pat on the back. "There there. Everything's gonna be okay."

And although Star appeared to be sad and stuff, she was really enjoying every second of this. Why? Well mainly because of the fact that she got to be so close to Marco again. Cause that was always good, no matter the circumstance.

Killian tried to ignore Star crying. Yes, he tried rather hard to do so. But for some reason, he really couldn't. Her cries got inside his head like nails on a chalkboard. He turned and moved over to the girl, trying to be very subtle with his actions. He was already appearing soft lately, and god how he didn't want this action to hurt his reputation anymore. He took Star's hand and wrapped a ring in it, stepping back afterwards.

"If you'd kindly stop crying, I'd like you to hang onto this for me. It's good luck," he added, winking at her. "And chin up. We still have a long journey ahead of us." Killian had bunch of rings, and handed her one that wasn't very valuable so he didn't mind parting with it--even she wanted to keep it forever. Although he could've done better, this was the pirate's attempt to try and console her. He wasn't very good at it, but it was something.

Star had honestly forgotten all about Billy by the time Killian had made his way over to her, and instead was just leaning on Marco's shoulder with a smile on her face and her eyes closed. Which, of course, made it all the more surprising when the pirate made his way over to her and tried to comfort her.

"Wha-- oh. Thanks." Star said, a bit dazed. Once she fully understood what was going on, the princess looked at the ring and smiled at it, leaving her spot against Marco's shoulder for the time being. "Ooo! Pretty!" She declared before showing her ring to Marco. "Look Marco!" Star said, earning a smile in response as he looked up at the sails.

"So uhh.. how are we supposed do this?" Marco asked, looking up at the sails with a confused look on his face.

Killian wouldn't remark on the ring again, as if the situation had never happened. Instead, he glanced to Marco, ready to answer the boy's question about the sails. "First, we check the halyards, or the lines we use to hoist the sail, to make sure they aren't wrapped around each other, or anything else," he explained, moving off to do just that. Of course, there were a few other steps to this process, but they were a bit much to explain to a child. He tried his best to use words that he, and even the others, might understand as he instructed them on how they could hoist the mainsail. He stood straight as he spoke, seeming proud of what he knew. Sailing was absolutely everything to Killian, and he could do it well.

Now normally Star would have just shot back with some classic teenage sass, but the fact that her boyfriend was feeling better made her think of an even better, more diabolical idea.

"Oh I'm sniffle sorry." She said as she put on most convincing sad face she could and even made her tears well up by simply thinking about sad things like hurt unicorns or sad puppies. And wouldn't ya know it, her plan worked.

Marco, being the nice guy he is, took his arm and placed it right around the princess' shoulder, with Star not hesitating to take this opportunity to bury her face in her boyfriend's shoulder and fake-cry.

"Nice going dude. You made her cry." Marco said to Billy in an annoyed tone before turning to Star, his expression and tone lightening a bit as he gave her a reassuring pat on the back. "There there. Everything's gonna be okay."

And although Star appeared to be sad and stuff, she was really enjoying every second of this. Why? Well mainly because of the fact that she got to be so close to Marco again. Cause that was always good, no matter the circumstance.

Marco deadpanned when Flash pointed out that Star was faking her sadness.

"Uhh yeah. It's kinda obvious that she was faking. It just gave me an excuse to hold her, really." Marco stated. Luckily Star didn't hear that statement, as she was too busy goggling over her newfound ring that Killian had given her.

Before going with Killian to work on the sail, Marco realized that this was the first time that he actually had a chance at talking to Flash. So while he had the time, Marco asked Flash a question that had been on his mind pretty much since they were in that cage at the beginning of this whole mess.

"What exactly is your suit made out of?"

Killian wouldn't remark on the ring again, as if the situation had never happened. Instead, he glanced to Marco, ready to answer the boy's question about the sails. "First, we check the halyards, or the lines we use to hoist the sail, to make sure they aren't wrapped around each other, or anything else," he explained, moving off to do just that. Of course, there were a few other steps to this process, but they were a bit much to explain to a child. He tried his best to use words that he, and even the others, might understand as he instructed them on how they could hoist the mainsail. He stood straight as he spoke, seeming proud of what he knew. Sailing was absolutely everything to Killian, and he could do it well.

"I am quiet familiar with running a ship." Hercules declared, rubbing his bearded chin as he looked about the exterior. He walked around the ship and made note of the differences compared to what he was most familiar with. "I had sailed with Jason and the Argonauts on their quest for the golden fleece. The ships of ancient Greece shouldn't be that far off from what we are currently on now. Though I am always the one everyone could go to if there is something to be lifted."

"I could be wrong, did I at least get the pesky pet part right?" Herbert asks, looking around to see if this 'Captain Jack Sparrow' had any pets.

It wasn't Rockhopper, but it certainly was another kind of bird.

While others were hoisting sails, Herbert had some enquiries of his own.

"A Sparrow, huh? You don't really look like one," Herbert questions. He never did figure what a human was, after all. "I wish to know what this important treasure is. The Golden Puffle? The Ruby? Something better than the two combined? If we're going to be part of your crew, we should know what's in store. As long as it's not something cheesy like 'the true meaning of friendship', I'll definitely hop in."

"It's you...know...treasure. Special kind of treasure. Golden...doubloons." Jack responded from his hammock.​

"He's offering us a clue to the heart in exchange for finding the treasure," Tommy said to the bear. "Even if it is the true meaning of friendship, I don't think we have a better option. Unless, of course, if Miss America here decides to whisk us away to somewhere new. Personally, I'm ready for us to lay low and get our pirating on."

As that happened Jack quickly got out of his hammock and unto the main deck. "Perfect! Now hold it steady men...and women!" Making his way to the wheel Jack removed a compass from his coat pocket to check the direction. "Full speed ahead! The treasure will be ours soon enough!"​

Marco, who was growing rather annoyed with all the anger directed toward Star, looked over at America and sighed.

"Okay, listen. I know that you guys haven't exactly known Star for that long, as in like two hours, so I won't get too mad here. But can ya knock it off with the hostility towards her? I get it, she shouldn't have tried to hit that pirate guy with a rainbow. But she's sorry. Yeah, she might not have been completely serious with her apology earlier, but I mean it all comes from a good place. She's not a bad person. Now can we just drop it already?" Marco asked as calmly as he possibly could. Star, who found this whole statement rather sweet of him, just smiled over at Marco.

"Awww, thanks Marco~" Star said before leaning over and giving the safe kid another kiss on the cheek which still earned a blush from him.

"Heheh.. don't mention it."

I get enough of that from my mom back on Mewni as it is." And with that, Star stormed off to be by herself for a bit.
