Chapter Four
"Daughter"
"Ugh, gag me with a rope."
Victoria knew it was probably not the most sensitive response, but the events of the past few hours alone were enough to make her feel bitter, let alone the past few
days. She looked into his eyes and tried to convey a sense of sympathy, but she just look pained.
"Stiles, I'm sorry. I really am. It sounds like you've been through a lot, but like... it's just so far removed from anything I've experienced in my life, you know? It's hard to hear, especially after all this. Maybe later, after I've calmed down... I'll stick with you when we're forced to leave, okay? I'll see you."
Victoria left, blending in with the others as they dispersed from the room to leave this latest trial behind.

It was only a few hours later that the sun began to rise, prompting Monokuma to play music over whatever loudspeakers he had set up throughout the hotel. Even if this wasn't enough to get everyone up, Monokuma would have compelled the remaining to get moving through whatever power he seemed to possess. He gathered everyone at the lobby of the hotel, where they could see their school bus waiting for them outside.
Monokuma had yet to show up, so everyone was forced to wait in silence. A television in the lobby was on however, displaying the local news. It didn't seem like anything of interest was being discussed for the moment. The smiling male and female news anchors were talking about some kind of deer festival, whatever that was.
It wasn't until the two anchors took on serious looks that it seemed something interesting was happening. They started off with talking about a few of the missing girls and how new information had come about of them likely being linked. They talked of Mark Jefferson and how his death has shaken up the community... and how this latest discovery will shake up Bright Falls once more.
"The body of one of the missing girls has been discovered, washed up from the lake." The female anchor shared a sad glance with her co-host.
"Rachel Amber, one of the last girls to go missing, was a valued member of the prestigious Blackwell Academy. That her body has been discovered in the same lake that Mark Jefferson's body has led to increased pressure for police to search the body of water."
More was being said, but the television turned off as Monokuma entered the room. "Hello!" he said, gesturing for the group to head outside. Of course, they had no choice but to do so.
"Everyone get a good rest?" the bear asked, sounding chipper. He looked around at the faces staring back at him, smiling even as he was met with disdain. "Cheer up! I get the feeling today will be our last day together!"
Diana perked up at that.
"Last day? Say it isn't so."
"He's lying," Jude said quickly. He looked tired, and almost sickly, as he stared down at the pavement of the parking lot.
"He's always lying. He's going to keep us as long as he wants. He will use us until we're all used up. We have to face facts."
"Oh... so dour!" Monokuma giggled, before turning around to head over to the bus. "It's the last day," he said, climbing on to the first step, "but that just means you have to work extra hard today! That murder is not gonna solve itself, you know!"
As everyone was moved on to the bus, Monokuma held up a map of Bright Falls so they all could see. "We have two locations to explore today! The first is the casino, where you're all to immature to gamble, so don't bother! The other is the diner, where you can fatten yourselves up some more! The bus will be heading to both destinations, so make sure you have one in mind on the way!"
The casino mentioned was the
One Eyed Jack's Casino, where it seemed one of the missing girls frequented. The diner was the
Oh Deer Diner, where that same girl worked. It was time to split up...

On the lake's edge was One Eyed Jack's, a casino with a less-then-reputable reputation among the townspeople.
"Casino? Hmm, sounds exciting," Shuten-Douji replied as the bus rolled up to the casino.
Those that chose to head here found themselves greeted by Detective Stephen Holder, who was standing out front, smoking.
"Yo there, little detectives," he said, smiling at them.
"Didn't think you'd show up. Been blowing through a pack waitin' for ya."
Jude didn't look too impressed.
"Are you going to get us inside? Some of us aren't really old enough to be here."
"No problem, no problem." Holder waved it off.
"Bear detective of yours said you guys get immunity. Woulda liked that when I was younger. Doubt the casino likes it, but I guess the bear does what he wants, huh?"
Holder led the group inside, where they would be hit with the seedy world of gambling. The building was filled with smoke and arid lighting, looking more like a brothel than an up-and-up casino. A few slot machines flashed and let out an array of noise, but were drowned out by the droves of people surrounding them.
"Enjoy the sights and enjoy the sounds. Get a feel for the place. Hit me up at the counter in a few and we'll get down to business."
Shuten-Douji shrugged and looked around.
"Hmhmhm... maybe I can fill my sake plate with something good? Will anyone join me or must I travel these daunting halls all alone?"

Nigel would have lulled over both choices and opted for the diner. He really didn't care to go to some shady casino and deal with any problems that might pop up there.
"Okay kiddies, get in line," Nigel joked as he and whoever else decided to join him to the diner.
"Maybe we can get a good meal out of it?"
The Oh Deer Diner was a quaint little place, perfect for a small town like Bright Falls. Those who came here found themselves greeted by a perky girl behind the counter who smiled warmly at them. Her name tag read Rose.
"Oh, hi! Welcome to the Oh Deer Diner!"
The girl giggled.
"What can I get for you guys?"
A girl pushed past everybody and slapped a bill down on the table. It was hard not to recognize the girl from the school, Meira.
"Yo, Rose. Get me a damn coffee, stat."
