Zinnia lifted her head back to the sky, quiet as she thought.

Jack says he understands, but I feel more as if he is just saying so to be polite. I could tell him just about anything and he'd listen without judgement. It feels strange knowing that. It's not something I'm used to.

"They've always been there to watch over me, even when I was abandoned, so that's why the stars bring me comfort," she tried to explain. "And as for that man I used to know... I won't expect you to understand. It's a hard thing to understand unless you've ever loved someone so hard that... your heart aches for them..."

It's a familiar feeling to me, a feeling that's starting to come back with each moment that passes while I'm at your side. Only this time, the feeling is a bit more gentle, more pure.

Zinnia blushed suddenly, realizing what Jack had called her, added the honorific onto the end of her name. Had he just started doing that? Or had he always done it? "Uh," she began, rubbing the back of her head. "Just Zinnia. I don't need a label at the end of my name. My name from your lips is enough to make it special."

Absent-mindedly, Zinnia placed a hand on his back and gently rubbed between his shoulders like he had done for her.

I hope I get a chance to do something for you. You're always taking care of me. You deserve someone who can do the same for you.

@The Tactician
As Zinnia spoke on about his inability to understand her pain, Jack couldn't help but silently disagree. Though much time had pass since then, he still remembered the days he spent with the only other woman who might have held his heart so close. Ikra's betrayal had been a harsh blow to his ability to trust others with his emotions, leading him for a long while to be guarded against such entanglements and focus upon his quest and goals to help the people of the world.

Yet here he was now, trusting his heart to another once again. This occasion was different, there was no dishonesty between them or hidden secrets that would harm the other. There was only the love and attraction between the two of them, a fact that Jack welcomed.

"It is not enough to call you only Zinnia in my eyes. You are too precious to me for me to call you by only your given name..." Jack hummed, visibly enjoying the rubbing.

"Daughter"

"Ugh, gag me with a rope."

Victoria knew it was probably not the most sensitive response, but the events of the past few hours alone were enough to make her feel bitter, let alone the past few days. She looked into his eyes and tried to convey a sense of sympathy, but she just look pained. "Stiles, I'm sorry. I really am. It sounds like you've been through a lot, but like... it's just so far removed from anything I've experienced in my life, you know? It's hard to hear, especially after all this. Maybe later, after I've calmed down... I'll stick with you when we're forced to leave, okay? I'll see you."

Victoria left, blending in with the others as they dispersed from the room to leave this latest trial behind.

It was only a few hours later that the sun began to rise, prompting Monokuma to play music over whatever loudspeakers he had set up throughout the hotel. Even if this wasn't enough to get everyone up, Monokuma would have compelled the remaining to get moving through whatever power he seemed to possess. He gathered everyone at the lobby of the hotel, where they could see their school bus waiting for them outside.

Monokuma had yet to show up, so everyone was forced to wait in silence. A television in the lobby was on however, displaying the local news. It didn't seem like anything of interest was being discussed for the moment. The smiling male and female news anchors were talking about some kind of deer festival, whatever that was.

It wasn't until the two anchors took on serious looks that it seemed something interesting was happening. They started off with talking about a few of the missing girls and how new information had come about of them likely being linked. They talked of Mark Jefferson and how his death has shaken up the community... and how this latest discovery will shake up Bright Falls once more. "The body of one of the missing girls has been discovered, washed up from the lake." The female anchor shared a sad glance with her co-host. "Rachel Amber, one of the last girls to go missing, was a valued member of the prestigious Blackwell Academy. That her body has been discovered in the same lake that Mark Jefferson's body has led to increased pressure for police to search the body of water."

More was being said, but the television turned off as Monokuma entered the room. "Hello!" he said, gesturing for the group to head outside. Of course, they had no choice but to do so.

"Everyone get a good rest?" the bear asked, sounding chipper. He looked around at the faces staring back at him, smiling even as he was met with disdain. "Cheer up! I get the feeling today will be our last day together!"

Diana perked up at that. "Last day? Say it isn't so."

"He's lying," Jude said quickly. He looked tired, and almost sickly, as he stared down at the pavement of the parking lot. "He's always lying. He's going to keep us as long as he wants. He will use us until we're all used up. We have to face facts."

"Oh... so dour!" Monokuma giggled, before turning around to head over to the bus. "It's the last day," he said, climbing on to the first step, "but that just means you have to work extra hard today! That murder is not gonna solve itself, you know!"

As everyone was moved on to the bus, Monokuma held up a map of Bright Falls so they all could see. "We have two locations to explore today! The first is the casino, where you're all to immature to gamble, so don't bother! The other is the diner, where you can fatten yourselves up some more! The bus will be heading to both destinations, so make sure you have one in mind on the way!"

The casino mentioned was the One Eyed Jack's Casino, where it seemed one of the missing girls frequented. The diner was the Oh Deer Diner, where that same girl worked. It was time to split up...

On the lake's edge was One Eyed Jack's, a casino with a less-then-reputable reputation among the townspeople. "Casino? Hmm, sounds exciting," Shuten-Douji replied as the bus rolled up to the casino.

Those that chose to head here found themselves greeted by Detective Stephen Holder, who was standing out front, smoking. "Yo there, little detectives," he said, smiling at them. "Didn't think you'd show up. Been blowing through a pack waitin' for ya."

Jude didn't look too impressed. "Are you going to get us inside? Some of us aren't really old enough to be here."

"No problem, no problem." Holder waved it off. "Bear detective of yours said you guys get immunity. Woulda liked that when I was younger. Doubt the casino likes it, but I guess the bear does what he wants, huh?"

Holder led the group inside, where they would be hit with the seedy world of gambling. The building was filled with smoke and arid lighting, looking more like a brothel than an up-and-up casino. A few slot machines flashed and let out an array of noise, but were drowned out by the droves of people surrounding them. "Enjoy the sights and enjoy the sounds. Get a feel for the place. Hit me up at the counter in a few and we'll get down to business."

Shuten-Douji shrugged and looked around. "Hmhmhm... maybe I can fill my sake plate with something good? Will anyone join me or must I travel these daunting halls all alone?"

Nigel would have lulled over both choices and opted for the diner. He really didn't care to go to some shady casino and deal with any problems that might pop up there. "Okay kiddies, get in line," Nigel joked as he and whoever else decided to join him to the diner.

"Maybe we can get a good meal out of it?"

The Oh Deer Diner was a quaint little place, perfect for a small town like Bright Falls. Those who came here found themselves greeted by a perky girl behind the counter who smiled warmly at them. Her name tag read Rose. "Oh, hi! Welcome to the Oh Deer Diner!"

The girl giggled. "What can I get for you guys?"

A girl pushed past everybody and slapped a bill down on the table. It was hard not to recognize the girl from the school, Meira.

Corrin was tired and had a headache. She hadn't actually slept in about two days, due to nerves and watching TV. She went to the diner.

"Something that will wake me up..." She said in a tired tone of voice. She rubbed her temples, and winced.

Honda mulled it over-as much as he would love to hit up the diner, knowing Holder would be at the casino he preferred to go with that. As the detective suggested, Honda took a walk around the inside, getting a feel for the place. Though, he had an idea of the feel of this place: sleazy as hell.

"But I'd... like it if you called me by just my name. Nothing fancy. If I catch you doing it again I'll," Zinnia paused to yawn, "tickle you." After speaking her last two words, she closed her eyes and propped her head against Jack's arm. She actually fell asleep shortly afterwards, so worn out from the day that she found it impossible to stay awake.

The sunrise next morning wasn't enough to wake Zinnia, but Monokuma's rediculous music certainly was. The young woman groaned and sat up, covering her ears. "At least it's not as bad as that music I heard in my head when I saw Jason," she grumbled.

Reluctantly, she headed to the lobby with the others to wait for Monokuma. She didn't pay much attention to the TV, but did pay attention when Monokuma stated that this would be their "last day."

"Ugh, I'm with Jude on this one. I'm not sure if I believe this will be our last day of this nightmare," she remarked.

It was shortly after this that they finally loaded onto the bus and headed for their next locations. "Not hungry. I'd rather go to the casino. Sounds more wild and fun," Zinnia said, placing her hands behind her head. Not only that, but maybe she could more easily avoid Jason over there. With how noisy casinos could be, hiding from him would be easier if she ran into him.

Chapter Four

It took him a few moments, even after hearing Yurick's words, but eventually, Jack Frost managed to lift his head for the moment.

"I just... Wish I could have done something..." He muttered.

It was quite out of the ordinary to hear bitterness in Jack's words, but well... The whole situation was most definitely not sitting well with him, like when they had lost Sandy, he once again felt powerless to stop a greater evil from taking more lives. However, this time, he doubted such an evil could be stopped by dreamsand miracles...It seemed like they practically had nothing left to fight their impending doom with... To him at least, but hey, he was talking again, maybe he would be okay after all?

At first, there was silence as Yurick thought over Jack's words.

"You can only do so much. And it may be a bit blunt of me to say this, but you can't save everyone. It's just not possible. But what you can do is survive and help as many as you can, even though you have to make sacrifices at times." Yurick would reply.

After saying that, he'd sit in a chair across from Jack Frost.

"Take my words of wisdom or not, that's your choice. But don't give that dumb bear what he wants. Tch, if I had my powers, that thing would of been set ablaze days ago." the silver haired male grumbled as he rested his cheek against his knuckles.

Yurick didn't remember when he fell asleep, but he definitely wasn't in the best mood waking up. He had barely paid attention to Monokuma as the bear spoke. But he got rhe gist of it. So, it was either a casino or a diner? He hadn't eaten much in the past few days, and knew that he'd need to eat something at some point or another. But he wasn't in the mood and decided to head to the casino.

He was probably going to regret it but whatever.

The waitress faltered slightly, but graciously nodded despite that. "... Sure, coffees for everyone?" She hastily moved to start gathering some mugs.

Unsure if she found this place interesting, Zinnia walked around swinging her arms. "Jeez, is what Monokuma said true? Are we not allowed to gamble in here? Boooooooring!" she complained, eventually stumbling upon Jude and Bullet. "Usually I'm the one in trouble, but for once I'm not breaking the law. Unlike you young'ins I'm actually legal. Heh! "Nothing wrong with a nice pair of thighs." Darv murmurs as he ducks into the diner. For once the male bore a smile "If I may make an odd request, do you happen to have any fresh bread rolls?" he asks. While it was certainly a strange request, he had so dearly missed the hearty rolls of his homeland during this strange course of events. The chance to taste the familiar, warm bread was something he could not pass up.

Bullet didn't seem to take this in. Her face was expressionless, almost cold. "I say do it anyway. What's the stuffed animal going to do, execute you?"

The joke earned an awkward silence from Jude, but he eventually managed to open his mouth. "... Bullet, are you okay? We heard about Rachel."

Bullet's eyes flashed with anger, but she reigned it in. She turned slightly, giving Jude and the others a side-eye glance. "It's fine. It's... fine... I expected it anyway. It's about finding the killer now. That's why you're all here too, right? Anna and a few of the other girls went here."

Jude looked to Zinnia and the others, giving them a worried look. "If you say so... We're here with Detective Holder. He's waiting for us right now. You can join us if you'd like."

Bullet considered this, though she looked unsure. "Maybe... that would be a good idea..."

"A thigh man!" Meira exclaimed, pointing to Darv. "He knows the true power of a major pair of thighs!"

The waitress, Rose, nodded at Darv. "Yes, we do! Just one second." Rose went to the back for a moment, returning soon later with a paper bag for the bread. "So... did you guys here about the girl they found in the lake this morning? They say there's more bodies in there... and so soon after Mark Jefferson! He was such a wonderful man. I was a big fan." Rose pointed to the corner of the diner, where a cardboard standee of the teacher was placed. "I get it at a picture signing he did in town. Rose passed the bag off to Darv and asked, "will everyone's bill be together?"

I had it up in remembrance, but a few people seemed to think it was in poor taste..."

Rose passed the bag off to Darv and asked, "will everyone's bill be together?"

Corrin looked down at her legs. Her thighs showed through her armor. It was a weird setup, but she figured it was a lot like her being barefoot: Something to do with her being a dragon.

She looked at the waitress. "Can I... have some bread, and something to help a headache?" She asked calmly. "I'll just have it with water... or Fruit juice."

"It's hard to argue with a woman who could crush your head between her legs" Darv chuckles, nodding slightly "Of course, women with abs are my true weakness" he adds, laughing heartily
He stops laughing upon hearing there was a bill. Of course, how could he forget something so simple? He didn't have any money.
Reaching to his pouch, he feels the shape of his lucky ring between his fingers. Knowing the value of this in his own world, he wondered if it would hold any value here?

Like Jude, Zinnia wasn't exactly amused by Bullet's joke. In fact, it killed her mood. "I wouldn't say things like that," she said to Bullet, her voice low and serious. She quieted for a moment, however, when Jude mentioned Rachel.

That's right, she's lost someone too. I sort of feel bad for her.

"Eh, gambling is boring anyhow," she finally said when Jude and Bullet seemed as if they wanted the group to stay. "I'll stick with you two for now."

As much as Zinnia hated to admit it, she wasn't really in the mood to have fun anymore. She looked to be in better spirits than the other day, but really she felt just as downcast. Her false effort was only to keep Jack and the others from worrying about her. Zinnia knew she wasn't the only one hurting; it would've been selfish to mope around while everyone else was at least trying to continue on. The least she could do was try herself.

Poison would've headed with the group to the casino. Even if they weren't allowed to gamble the glitz and glamour was always a welcome change of pace from the usual doom and gloom in this place. "Just stick with us Bullet, we're gonna solve all of this just you watch."

Shuten-Douji had her usual half drunk smile on her face. "All of these familiar faces popping up...it is as if it was fate."

"Sure." Nigel replied. "Can we get a tab or something luv?" He asked the waitress loading up the charm in his worse. "The boss guy who takes care of our money stuff isn't here right now, but just put it under Monokuma and he'll get right on that when I give him the bill."

Bullet looked a little ashamed at Zinnia's reaction. She bowed her head. "... Let's just go then."

Bullet followed the group to the front counter, where Holder was waiting. He gave them a nod as the man at the counter handed him a notebook. "Hey little, B. You joinin' us? You all can get to work by doing two things for me. Need some of you to head up our teacher's room and take a look. The casino's got a hotel, and the room's not been touched since he showed up. We've got the last place he was seen alive. Rest of you can follow me into the back rooms where the security cams last had their eye on our boy. You guys got that?"

"I'll... head up into the hotel." Bullet took a wary glance toward one of the working girls, watching as she wandered into the back rooms. Judging by her expression, it was not a place she wanted to be.

"Sure thing!" Rose said sweetly, moving to do as Nigel asked.

Meanwhile, Meira was leaning over Corrin, though it felt more like leering. "Nothing helps a headache better than a good lay. It gets the blood flowing."

"How about a slice of pie?"

"Or that. Pie's good too. You ever get a cold and it actually feels good? Like you're body is flushing itself? I like that."

Once Rose was finished passing out drinks, she turned to Corrin. "But, yeah, food's all I can offer. Even if I had something for your head, I wouldn't be allowed to give it to you."

The waitress faltered slightly, but graciously nodded despite that. "... Sure, coffees for everyone?" She hastily moved to start gathering some mugs.

Meira turned to the group, staring at Rant's fist as if it bored her. "Oh, I'm sorry. My boobs are always getting in the way, right? Or maybe some of you guys should watch what you eat. The pie here's good, but it goes straight to your thighs." The girl shrugged and moved to stretch her arms into the air. "Or boobs, like in my case."

Those wandering around would eventually find the unmistakable sight of Bullet loitering by one of the poker tables. "Bullet?" Jude said, causing the girl to turn around and give the group a wary look over.

"... Yeah?"

Jude sighed and walked over to her. Looking at Bullet quizzically, he said, "aren't you a little young to be in here?"

Bullet shrugged. "Aren't you?" Jude didn't answer her, so she held up a card for him to say. "Fake ID," she whispered. She then put it away and crossed her arms, waiting for someone to say something.

Corrin stared blankly at Meira for a moment, thinking about what she had said. "What?" She asked.

When the waitess mentioned pie, Corrin turned to her. "Y-yes, that sounds lovely. I would like peach, or cherry if that's not available."

She would just have to see if that helped the headache. She picked up her glass of water and began drinking from it slowly.
