Moon, Blood, and Wolf's Bane

Now he was completely under a spell that the female was likely not even trying to cast. Every kiss and each caress had exempted him from reality into a paradise for however long their stamina would last. Fingers now tipped with the beginning of claws grazed along her backside once again before trailing up to her shoulder blades. Arms that dared not exert the potential force hidden within merely wrapped around Natasha as the hands continued their caresses. Magic that only love made hold any sway in a world which now seemed so consumed with fact. Yet their species proved that still something existed that did not quite fit in with that world.

Until she removed the eyepatch.

Shaken out of the living wet dream, he blinked at her now with both eyes exposed. Surprise consumed his expression in a genuine shock at not only Natasha's actions but her words. Frozen as his mind tried to recover and staring up with confusion. Only one eye was complete of course, as the wound brought on by silver still required time to completely heal. Nothing could be seen from it other than perhaps a vague distinguishing between light and dark. Constant care had kept from becoming a puss-filled eyesore of infection. Yet it was still certainly no pretty sight to behold as it revealed how disgusting regeneration could appear if not done quickly or below the skin and out of sight.

Jason closed the injured eye off from view.

". . .Natasha. . ."

Kisses tried to blind him to the fact that mistake from the past was still not forgotten by his body. Yet what he saw with his good eye showed someone who accepted who he was at this very moment. Someone who did not still live in the past and hold him accountable for what happened to their former leader. Natasha wasn't lying to him, not right now. . . it just didn't seem possible. Kiss by kiss his mate transported him away again from his pain, not to mention the sensations below. After all he WAS still inside her and could feel those smooth walls gripping at his length and pulled him out of what could have turned into a self-pity party just then.

". . . I love you."

Jason's pace picked up, as if at least some of the weight bearing down on his shoulders had been removed. Or shared with another.

[bg=#4A4A4A]Sean nodded in understanding as he leaned into Parker a bit more, he seemed so depressed the way that he had said that. His gaze followed Parker's as a woman with white-blond hair dashed away from the fountain, the man that was sitting there with her seemed surprised but dashed off after her a moment later. He could almost feel the other wolf's hesitation as he watched the streak of blond disappear from sight.

The squeeze to his hand brought a large grin to his face and he returned the favor. What a strange day...meeting like this is one of life's little serendipitous moments.

"Continuing our walk sounds like fun, I could use a break from the paper I'm writing for class anyway. Any local haunts you want to go see?" Sean shot a sideways glance at the boy, his coy grin still playing across his lips. It would be nice for Sean to get out and meet the locals, he did after all want to move here for a reason and he hadn't been doing much of it.

[BG="#663300"]Kaleb's heart soared with every second that he was close to Remmi, and it took him by surprise when he felt the way that she was pressing her body against his, making his breath shallow for a few moments. Could it be that she really wanted him? Wanted him... like that? This was confirmed when he felt her tugging at his clothes, and then, he was surprised again as she jumped and hooked her legs around him. The scent of her... the hormones... His pants were starting to get quite uncomfortable as he felt her pressed up against him...

And then she stopped.

He knew what had happened, and he cursed himself. How could she not have noticed? She had distanced herself from him and she looked so hurt that he didn't even know what to do. And then... that sound she made... Dammit! She ran... and he didn't blame her... But they were still a long way from the pack, and he was next to the bike... she wouldn't get far....

He gave her a moment or two before going after her, not running, but walking. Taking his time, to think of how to explain. What to do... How to fix this...

He finally caught up and slowly pulled her into a hug. He didn't deserve her touch, he was an idiot.

"I'm sorry, Remmi... I should have told you..." He started, his voice dripping with sorrow as he held her close, not out of sexual feelings, but comfort. He hated that he had upset her, he hated that he was the cause of it even more. "You have a right to know.... I.... not of my choice.... She... I..." He couldn't even speak!

He started to get choked up.... How was he supposed to know he'd run into her? How was he supposed to know that he'd be able to get away from them? Why didn't he resist!?

"I had..... sex... with one of the other pack... She.... I.... didn't...." He felt horrid. How could he even explain this?! Especially the part about hooking up with ONE OF THE PACK THAT KILLED THEIRS. idiot, idiot, idiot. "It was last night..." He admitted, choosing to leave out the fact that it had been because she had heard he was still a virgin from her pack mates... How the hell do you resist someone when you're half asleep and made submissive?! And how do you EXPLAIN that to the one that you actually love?

"I... I don't deserve you... You don't.... you don't need this shit..." He stated quietly, then kissed her forehead, taking a deep breath before taking her hand and leading her back to the bike. His face was solemn as he got on, pulled her behind him, started up the bike and gently pulled her arms around his waist, not out of anything else but giving her something to hold onto while they rode. Safety.

"I'm sorry...." He said in monotone before the roar of the bike started and he got them back to the town as quickly as he could. He then got off the bike and walked off back to that cabin that the other pack had used. The whole damned pack had gone to that bar.... and apparently only two survived, and his ass would be screwed if one of them was that bitch.... and he didn't know if he meant that word in the literal sense or as a cuss word anymore...

He punched a wall, then again, and again. He then heard something in one of the back rooms, and wanted to kick himself. He had overlooked one small detail....

He walked into the room, the only room that had decorations that didn't match the rest of the cabin. Toys and dolls littered the floor and he looked at the small girl who smiled up at him and asked him when her mommy was coming home. It was almost impossible to believe that she was a kid of this pack... way too innocent... What the hell.... could he do.... about her?

Mommy was the one that had slept with him.

What now?

"Uhhhhhmmmm... Mommy's at the bar, kiddo..." He lied, and the kid believed him. He still didn't know if the kid's mother was among the dead, or at the hospital... he'd have to go check once he bedded down the kid for a nap and made sure she was asleep.

Two very stupid lies. To two innocents.

[BG="#CCAAFF"][DASH="black"] Natasha had been a little anxious when she had made that move. For a moment, she was worried that the fun was over, that she had chosen the wrong time to pull what she had.

But was relieved when it seemed like he had moved on a bit, and then his pace quickened. She was happy to see him overcome the shock and still continued... perhaps once they were done with their moment in his truck... they could actually talk about what seemed to be a shadow over him... that day he had lost his eye... She could tell that he had been bothered by it... but.. just having sex and taking off an eye patch doesn't cut it... She felt like she had to say one last thing...

"Our Alapha's death wasn't your fault... you did more than most could... You risked your life... He made you leave, Jason... it's not your fault... I don't think he'd hold you accountable for it." She said quietly, kissing him gently during each pause. She could be a klutz... and absent-minded... and an idiot at times.... but she cared... and she loved Jason...

"I love you too, dummy..." She giggled as she kissed his nose and then his forehead. "I love all of you... Every little bit." Natasha explained and then gasped, too close to that edge to talk coherently anymore... She trembled and pressed against him, her hands on his chest as she tucked her head between his neck and his shoulder, nipping and kissing that small place as her body writhed against him.

"Jason!" She exclaimed in a gasp. Her eyes changed as his had, and her nails elongated into claws as his had as well... she hadn't really noticed, nipping Jason's neck a little harder, her body trembling, almost at the end of it.
[/DASH][/BG]

Jason had nearly fallen completely back into the complacency that this sex offered up so freely, when his mate spoke again. Words that tried to console him for that mistake he still believed belonged to him alone. Removing the eye-patch had pushed the envelope of what his guilty conscience would allow him to accept. He could believe that she didn't hold him responsible for what happened to their ex-Alpha, but he himself had not yet reached that point. So when she started talking about that sensitive subject again there existed two options to decide between within a split second. Choice one involved letting the words sink in, bother him, and ruin the mood utterly for him at a time so close to the end of it. Or he could simply block out those offending words and not listen to her the split second he realized what she was talking about.

Selfishly he chose the second and concentrated only on what her body did to his own.

Muscles tensed as the pressure built up in every fiber of his body, anticipating what was about to come next. Jason said nothing in reply to her, only letting out gasps, groans and growls. Eyes were closed as his face contorted in uncomprimised pleasure. Loving her didn't require speaking sentences, though the word that escaped his lips with every other sound was her name. Bordering on brutal his pace picked up, allowing his hips to just about slam into hers as the clawed fingers gripped her thighs tightly. Kisses and nips at his neck only added to the feeling that made something equal to an explosion feel imminent. Neither body would have allowed the other to escape their shared embrace now.

It made him feel better already to know that Sean would still walk with him. Now, he was faced with the trouble of deciding where to go from here. Parker didn't socialize much with the others, mostly because they were older than him, therefore there wasn't much in common aside from being wolves. He also just didn't visit many of the establishments here, because he was venturing into the forests instead.

"I dunno, actually. If ya see somethin', just tug me to it. I hear the antique shop's purdy cool, and the bakery's nice if ya like sweets and breads."

Parker smiled back at Sean and then commenced his footsteps, watching as the shops were left behind. Really, he didn't care where they went. As long as he wasn't alone, nothing else mattered. This was an adventure for him, too. It was about time he did some actual touring of this place. The year he's lived here passed so quickly, even for a person hiding in solitude.

Remmi hated how he was so weak because he thought that he was. It honestly had driven her crazy in this short amount of time. She was so pissed off that him the she didn't move to hug him back or say anything to him as he was trying to explain himself. The only thing he had really given her was a list of excuses and whining about how weak he was. She was so angry with him that he couldn't just be straight up with her.

She didn't wrap her arms around him as they rode back to the town, in fact she jumped off the bike when they first hit the town. Her feet hit the gravel and she slid a ways. She was an animal she had amazing balance and grace and right now she felt like one. She was so angry she wanted to tear something to shreds. Preferably that bitch. He was the idiot that couldn't brush his fucking teeth! She ran to what she has come to know as her home. She stripped off her clothes and got in a scalding hot shower.

She had never had a worse ride in her life. She had always thought that a motorcycle ride could make anything better, until now. She threw on a mini skirt knee high black leather boots and a tight corset. She pinned up her hair and painted her face. She grabbed a bottle of Jack and left her house. She was pissed and she wanted to drink since the bar was closed she decided to take her bottle with her and hell have no consequences. She didn't know what she really planned to do looking like one of the hottest bitches of the West. Kaleb didn't want her, fine, someone sure as hell would even if it was for a night.

[BG="#663300"]Moments later, Kaleb found himself in the middle of a tea party with a teddy bear named "Stuffles", a wolf plush named "Paw-Paw", and the little girl. There were no cups... no teapots... No table... it was all make-believe, and he tried to play along as best he could. He pretended to sip at a cup and complimented her on the tea, and the pup grinned widely.

"Hey Kaleb?" The girl had finally asked, in a tone that made him look up, but she was waiting for him to say something. She repeated his name.

"Yes, Shawna?" He finally asked, and she had pretended to put down her cup, and then smoothed out her pants, very business-like... And then popped a question that he cringed at.

"What happened to Mr.... mister.... That guy...?.... Where'd the pack go?" She tried, and Kaleb understood enough to know that he'd have to lie again.

"He.... He took a long trip... And so did the pack..." Kaleb stated quietly, and she frowned before shaking her head.

"It's the truth." He tried to lie again, and she shook her head again. "Nuhhh-uh." She replied and then got up and walked out of the room, Kaleb following her. "You're lying.... where's mommy?"

Kaleb took a deep breath, then finally picked the girl up and carried her to a nearby table, sitting her down on it before kneeling before it, at her height. "I don't know.... I don't know, sweetheart.... Mommy and the pack went to go to another pack here.... they..." He stopped when he saw the look in her eyes, saw how wide and wet they were getting.

"Find her!" She exclaimed, and Kaleb took another breath and held the girl's small hands in his own. "I'm going to." He swallowed the lump in his throat and then it started, those big tears were rolling down the kid's cheeks. He didn't expect for her to hit him, and neither did she apparently, when she had the most surprised look on her face as she rubbed her little hand while Kaleb raised an eyebrow at her.

"I'm coming with. Let's go!" She yelled, and he nodded, knowing he wouldn't be able to get out of this one. She went to go get her tiny backpack and then grabbed one of his hands while he was still kneeling on the floor and dragged him to the door and then demanded to be carried. So he set off to the hospital with Shawna on his hip.

He smelled Remmi somewhere nearby... and thought he saw her... but... Remmi wouldn't wear something like that.... would she?

All he knew was that he was torn between hoping for the kid's sake that the woman was alive, and also wanting her to be dead because of Remmi, and then he felt horrible about it.

"TO THE HOSPITAL!" Shawna hooted, and Kaleb cringed, hoping none of the pack was able to hear the kid as he walked a little further, then entered the hospital.

[BG="#CCAAFF"][DASH="black"]If Jason replied to Natasha about what she had said, she hadn't heard it, but she let it go... It was too hard to think now...

For a moment, she remembered how last time, she had been afraid.... they hadn't even really finished... she couldn't remember why... All she knew was she felt his body pressing against
hers and she only wanted more...

Natasha felt his hands on her thighs, she heard his voice, heard her name on his breath.

More.

She whimpered as a wave of sensations rolled over her. Something building up and tensing in her body as she kept up with Jason's pace, and then knew that it was close. What both their bodies longed for. Everything else simply didn't matter for now. Time.... just felt like it stopped as suddenly, in one move, Natasha let out a howl of pleasure. Her whole body twitched and trembled, tightening around Jason in some areas. Her back arched and her eyes shot wide-open before she felt his body responding to hers. Warmth filled her from head to toe as she laid against him, feeling the way their skin pressed together, interlocking her hand in his as she rested her head on his chest, her eyes half-closed, pleased and calm.

"I love you." She murmured quietly before kissing his chest.

She'd have to put some clothes on at some point, but for right now, she just wanted to lay there for a while longer.
[/DASH][/BG]

Remmi walked through the town sipping her bottle. Her glossy red lip stick smeared on the edge of the lip, she had abandoned its cap on the street as there was no use for it. The black leather of her boots was soft against her legs as the three inch heels added to her height correcting her posture. The corset was like a second skin to her torso, accentuating her tiny rib cage causing her breasts to look like they could strangle her if she moved wrong. Her outfit was red and black with small hits of gold.

The town had buzzed to life. New traveled fast especially in small towns. The bar was still covered in crime scene tape, and the city had seemed to grow about tree times its normal population in only a few hours. People were all over news like this no matter the size of the town. It was like some kind of side show attraction. The police were too busy with the bar to worry about an open bottle.

Her senses were shot with how much she had consumed, she saw a man walking with a little girl to the hospital and thought that was something more people should care about then what happened at a bar with a gang that had warrants in many states. Many men approached her, as she flirted drinking more she couldn't really bring herself to do much. Kaleb still cut through her heart like a hot knife. Damn him.

It was a popular season for bikes Remmi had noticed as she ran her fingers over one catching the attention of its owner. He was practically drooling over her looks as he approached her and rand his fingers down her arms. She had no idea what was going on or what made him think that he could touch her without invitation. She licked her lips in nervousness and he took it as an invitation pushing her against his bike. She was trapped by the bike and this mans body. She tried pushing him away but he just roughly grabbed the back of her neck and forcefully kissed her. She had tried kneeing him in his junk but he trapped her leg between his, his free hand grabbing her other leg on her thigh underneath her skirt holding her in place.

They would have looked like they were in a passionate and hot embrace if it were not for the fact that her eyes were open and tears were starting to roll down her cheeks. She felt helpless the liquor taking her reactions and common sense of a wolf away. She could have floored him but she was drunk and slightly frightened over this situation. It was one that she was completely new to, the girl in her was frightened and didn't know what to do and the wolf in her was hidden and distorted by the liquor. The worst part was that nobody noticed and if they did they must have assumed, that by what she was wearing, that was who she was with and they were just being inappropriate in public with a disregard for authority.

Jason felt his body gripped in the tension created by Natasha's throes of passion that squeezed until his threshold had been reached. Fingers tipped with claws had dug slightly deeper into her silky white flesh. A howl escaped his lips in unison with her as the tension was suddenly released in what felt like nothing less than an explosion. Eyes open yet seeing nothing but white for a split second. Completely forgotten were the problems of the pack and the world outside the truck.

Now her head rested on her chest and while one hand interlocked with hers a free arm looped around her waistline. Simply laying there with her like this was all he really wanted from life. A soft smile of complete satisfaction had spread upon his lips. Then he heard those words. Ones that it would never pain him to hear come from the lips of his mate as long as he lived. Barely a second or two went by before his reply came full of strength and with doubt nowhere to be heard.

"I love you too."

A FEW DAYS LATER....

Things in Raymond were getting worse. Though the people of Raymond thought it could be a wild animal or crazy serial killer killing the people of their town, the Raymond werepack knew better. At least... up until the death of Marette. Her body found in the woods mauled near to pieces. All of the people found before had been weres. It was previously assumed that a hunter was trying to kill them off. But now...? Humans were dying too. The events happening in town were coming to the brink of chaos.

Making matters worse, the town is now under investigation. Everything from the F.B.I to the were's worst fear. Wolves sent by the Were Council to handle "unsavory business" are in town. Their identities not yet uncovered, but the pack knows they're there. Waiting for a chance to wipe out those that broke Were Law and to make the entire mess of Raymond disappear...

AT THE HOWLING HIPPO

The Hippo had remain closed during the week. Cleaning up after the gang members jumped in trying to smash the place. Still closed, there was only two inside. Staring each other down with a mutual dislike. Saraliya standing behind the bar with her hands resting on the top and nails tapping on the surface. Grace sitting in a stool across from her. A loaded shot gun sitting across her legs.

"This is a load of bullshit." Grace growled at the woman across the bar.

Sara flashed her teeth in a grim sort of smirk. "Frankly, I don't give a shit. But you saw the truth. You know what we are, and more importantly what that little spawn could be. You need us."

Need was a tricky word, Grace thought to herself. Her hand lay over the shotgun, and she was so tempted to start shooting. But after what happened with Zack... what happened over the past few days. Her conversation with Sara had been alarming, but damned if it didn't make sense. Werewolves. Werewolves. Zack was a werewolf and now... the baby she carried was likely to be one too. It made her feel sick and horrified all at the same time. At first she even considered not having the child. ...but... That just wasn't going to be an option for her. This was HER kid. She'd deal with this shit.

"You expect me to leave this town and everything I care about. I can't do that. I grew up here, everything I love is here." Grace responded, forcing herself to even her tone out.

Sara was looking obviously frustrated. "And I'm telling you that you're going to be fucking DEAD within days! Or haven't you noticed Raymond is swimming in dead bodies?! And that THING," she pointed at Grace's stomach, "is against our law. Any wolf that finds you is going to kill you AND the kid. I promised that wouldn't happen."

"Right. Promised the man that lied to me and slept with YOU. I am going to so willingly put my child's life in your hands." Grace spat back. This conversation was more than she could deal with. Sliding out of her chair with gun in hand, she turned to head for the door.

"He did it to protect you, stupid bitch!" Sara screamed back at her. Always to protect Grace. Not because he wanted to make the pack safe and strong. Zack only ever thought about Grace. He slept with her to take the heat off Grace, and things were even worse than before...

Grace only smirked. "Uh huh. That look on your face says otherwise. I don't want your help. I want you people to leave me alone." With her final say, she stalked out the door, leaving Sara to fume.

[BG="#663300"]Kaleb was a wreck.

He hadn't even seen the pack since that fuck up with Remmi... let alone anyone else besides the people in the cabin with him.

He sat at the small kid's table with Shawna, playing pretend again, but they were being watched. He felt the unwanted caress of fingertips on his back and he shuddered, but not out of pleasure. Regardless, he pressed on, smiling and pretending to pour tea for Shawna.

He had become lowly again.... and the only consolation was that with luck, no one would find out.... But he wanted to get OUT of this cabin!

"Kaleb? Why did you betray us?" Shawna asked, and he grimaced, almost feeling the grin that was forming behind him.

"Because Kaleb is very confused, deary. He thought that he could just slink away to a new pack..." He heard her say, and then he felt her nails drag down his spine. He felt sick to his stomach.

"Shawna, why don't you go play outside? It's so nice out today, you shouldn't be cooped up in here." She prodded, and Shawna seemed excited about it.

"Can Kaleb come with?"

Plead say 'yes', please say 'yes', please say-

"Kaleb's still grounded, sweetie, go play." Shawna was off in a flash.

And like that he felt her arms around his body, and her hands pulling at his clothing. He felt her mouth at his ear, saying things that he didn't want to hear.

"Please, Leslie, I"- Kaleb began, but he felt hands twisting in his hair and teeth sinking into his shoulder, he wanted to yell, but he toned it down to a groan.

"I don't want to hear it. How could you, Kaleb? I bet you had planned that all! But it doesn't matter.... you're helping me make this right.... This pack is NOT going to die out.... You're going to help me make sure of it...." Her words were like poison in his ears as he tried to ignore what was happening.

"I can make you happy..."

Kaleb cringed and shut his eyes. It felt wrong... He didn't want this... He didn't know how to stop it... "No" wouldn't work......

Not with this woman.

"Come on, Kaleb... Don't be like that....." Her voice was as soft as nails and about as sensual as a piece of shit. He didn't want her.... he wanted to get out of this cabin and see Remmi again...

Like he'd actually have a chance at that...

He let his thoughts drift miles away from his body.... unsure of what to do anymore....

_________________________

[BG="#CCAAFF"][DASH="black"] Natasha hadn't been feeling good this morning.

To say the least.

She had a headache, but that might be because she had been worrying over Sara having to deal with Grace.... this whole situation was madness!

Natasha was also worried about the possibilities... what if they couldn't protect Grace? What if Grace ended up dead in the end, regardless of what they did? What if that baby ended up stillborn.... what if she actually gave BIRTH!? What if what they said was true?.... or what if it was false?

She tried not to think of it too much. Just waiting for when Sara would give her and Jason the 'ok' to make a dash with the pups.

She tried to distract herself with thinking about what her and Jason would do when they were far gone and waiting for the rest of the pack to follow after. About the pups..... about being alone with him.... sorta...
[/DASH][/BG]

"Do you think they're okay in there?" asked Dimitri. He was a young wolf, teens ... nearly seventeen. He was nervous and kept pacing, the collar of his jacket was pulled as high as possible as if to ward against the cold. He'd been in the Raymond pack all his life and when their last alpha had died, it had been like someone had pulled the rug out from under him.

Not the rug, Rion thought. It had been like someone had bound, gagged him, and thrown him into a sea of ice cold water. It was not an encouraging thought. But he didn't know whether he could relate to it or not. They were standing behind the Hippo, outside, waiting to see if Grace was going to accept Sara's protection or not. Noel had only laughed softly when Sara had told them her plans.

"I haven't heard a shotgun go off yet. Or a body dropping to the floor," Rion replied. He preferred to keep listening to the conversation but Dimitri was a nervous wolf. He needed to be soothed. Except the music Noel kept playing was distracting and unnerving him. It was beautiful but there was something about it that made him want to shut his ears and turn away. He finally couldn't take it anymore. "Never knew you could play."

Noel grinned but didn't stop. There was a beautiful violin against his shoulder, polished dark brown. The way he had his head against it, you could have sworn he was leaning his head against a lover's. "There are lots of talents a wolf can pick up ... when he has time."

Dimitri's eyes were wide as he leaned forward. Such beautiful music ...

Rion glanced to the side and saw the look on Dimitri's face, then shot a glare at Noel. "You could stop fooling around and help."

Noel laughed and finally stopped. He was sitting on a wooden crate as he rested the violin in his lap. "Help. Help what. We've already dug our own graves."

[bg=#1a1a1a]
The back door of the hippo came flying open as Sara kicked it and stomped out. She had a bottle of whiskey in one hand, and didn't seem at all apologetic that she was drinking from it. It didn't take a rocket scientist to tell by the look on her face that the meeting with Grace didn't go over well. On the bright side, she wasn't full of bullets. On the bad side... she was pissed off and only the three of them were standing there within claw reach.

"What a stupid bitch! Don't you think when someone says against the LAW and GOING TO DIE and HEY LOOK THAT'S A WOLF IN THERE that your stupid ass needs help from something a little more dangerous than a double barrel shotgun and a bunch of fucking curse words?!" Sara ignored the fact that she and Grace used similar methods of being angry, and instead turned her glaring over at Noel who was mooning over a violin like he was some sort of street performing bard. For a fraction of a second it looked like she was going to throw the bottle at him. Instead, with a few deep breaths, she calmed down enough to rub her temples in thought.

"...she's not going to accept help. But I am not going to break a promise. When it's time to go, she's coming with us, whether she likes it or not. Just gotta figure out how." Sara eyed Dimitri who was shuffling about like a lost pup. He was a perfect example of what happens when people don't know their place and think about how their actions affect the pack. He was a lost kid having to deal with crazy shit.

Sara took another swig from the bottle, and very suddenly gave Rion a swift kick to the shin. It wasn't too hard and it looked like she wanted to say something more, but was holding her thoughts back behind that annoyed glare.
[/bg]

Rion's eyes narrowed. He stole the whiskey bottle from Sara and threw it over his shoulder. Dimitri fumbled with it; Noel caught it. If Rion's shin hurt, he didn't show it. "So you slept with Zack, congrats. So you made him a promise, good for you. He's dead, Sara. Your boyfriend isn't coming back." It figured that she and the human female had so much in common ... more than fucking the same man. He leaned forward. "But don't think for a damn minute I'm going to be your scapegoat." Then he turned and disappeared around the corner of the Hippo. It was anyone's guess where he was going to end up.

Noel took a swig out of the whiskey bottle. The violin was nowhere to be seen. "Well, nothing seals a pack's fate like a half-were whelp." He grinned. "This should be fun."

[bg=#1a1a1a]
Sara stood there dumb founded for a moment. Sure, she expected Rion to snap back at her. But snap at her about Zack. That was something that everyone should have just assumed was a rumor and the only one that knew the truth about it was...

"Noel, you freaking told him! You- what even- are you- God damnit!" Hands out, Sara was quickly approching Noel like she was about to strangle him. Pop his head right off his neck and probably chew on his spin for a few hours. But Dimitri was there looking stunned and bewildered. He didn't need to see her murder Noel. ...She would just do it later!

Sara snatched her bottle out of Noel's hands, growling at him with promise as she stomped away to follow Rion.

"Go on and walk away! That's what you're best at, isn't it? Rion Larrow, escape artist!" she shouted at his fleeing back.
[/bg]

As it had turned out at least one person really did pay attention, Rion. One moment she was being manhandled on a bike and the next Rion was there checking her for injuries and taking her to his house. She may have been drunk enough to call him her hero but her mind may have chosen to block that moment. She woke up with her mind hazy and walked into the bathroom to his naked body getting out of the shower. It wasn't awkward seeing him naked it was just shocking to the both of them. She should have know when she smelled like him, as she was wearing one of his shirts and just her pair of panties. She hadn't done anything in the few day accept stay curled up in Rions bed. She had been like a zombie and barely eaten since Rion told her where Kaleb was. She hadn't cried in front of him but Remmi was sure that he knew what she did after he left. In the past few days she slept cuddled up to Rion.

Rion hadn't said anything to her about his bike but she guessed that he was pretty pissed and just too nice to say anything right now about it. Everything was just too much for her to handle. She had him back, it was only for a short time before he left her for that whore and it tore her heart to shreds. She had gotten a taste of the one thing that finally made her feel complete and he ran back to what? That? Maybe thats what he wan.. no. It couldn't be that. So Remmi put on her clothes that Sara and Rion had brought her.

She slid on her skin tight dark blue jeans and a black form fitting baby tee. She laced up her black steel toed combat boots and neatly tucked her weapons where they belonged on her. She braided her hair into a neat bun as she set out to the cabin. Sara had only told her that nobody could die, she hadn't mentioned anything about threatening or a little rough play.

Remmi was watching Kaleb sip tea with the little girl she had heard about. The woman that walked in the room was not unfortunate looking, yet. She had dismissed the child and Remmi quietly and swiftly came in the window as they both had their backs to it. Her blood boiled as that bitch talked about making him happy. She grabbed that wores hair throwin her to the floor.

"Happy this, bitch." She snarled as her boot connected right in Leslie's baby maker.

Noel stood and patted the startled Dimitri hard on the back. "Welp, it looks like we have a lot of work ahead of us, doesn't it?" They walked into the Howling Hippo. "Have I ever told you about the time I ..."

Rion was growling as he turned, stalked back to her. He could take slings and arrows and bullets from pretty much anyone but when it came to Sara, she was an exception to the rule. She always did know how to press his buttons and hell if he didn't always let her.

"Don't start, Sara. I'll admit I made a lot of mistakes and leaving the pack like that qualifies as one. But I'm doing what I can now, considering all the shit's that's gone down." He glanced away. But that wasn't what he wanted to say, or ask, and they were alone now ... "Why. Why'd you sleep with him."

Sara glared at him, but was hesitant to answer. Anyone else she could tell without regret. After all, her intentions with Zack had been obvious from the start! There was so secret that she had her eyes set on being pack leader, and was going to do anything to get it. But that was after Rion was long gone.

Fuck it, it didn't matter! She didn't have anything to feel bad about!

"Why wouldn't I? The pack needed an Alpha and I needed someone to back me up. No one would ever say no to Zack." She sure as hell couldn't. Her assurdness about it slowly faded, replaced by those lingering doubts about whether or not it had been worth it. In the end, Zack took off and things were even worse than before. "...He said he would do anything for the pack. ...I didn't realize his pack only consisted of that human snack and her kid..."

Suddenly something occured to her and she narrowed her eyes at him. "...What do you mean he's dead?"

Rion was silent for awhile. That had come out of nowhere. He'd thought someone had told her by now. Guess no one wanted to deal with Sara when she was pissed. His eyes moved back to her face. "I found a body this morning. I couldn't identify it right away. I called a few of the others and they confirmed it was Zack's scent, and we found his truck half a mile away."

"You know. You didn't have to screw him to become Alpha. No one ever says no to you." Then he turned and he was walking away again. In the end, it didn't matter if he stayed or went did it? Sara was already the Alpha, no one else was taking charge and it wasn't his place, whether or not his dad had been the last. Maybe she'd felt something for Zack and that's the real reason she'd screwed him and made a promise that was going to kill all of them.

Rion didn't get very far before Sara threw her whiskey bottle at him. It didn't hit him, but crashed on the rocks near his feet. Sara was leaning forward on her toes, very nearly ready to spring forward and tackle him to the ground. Take a good bite out of him like he so richly deserved.

"You don't fucking get it! No one ever took me seriously! I wasn't BORN to be the Alpha! I wasn't you! Do you know what I had to do when you were gone? The shit I had to try and deal with after you father died?! Did you think everyone just fell in line at a snap of my fingers? I had to FIGHT for it! I had to do everything and anything just to keep our pack together!"

"...and you.... You run off wild and free and blow in to town like things haven't changed. Rescuing and sexing up with stupid women like Remmi, pissing around with Noel while I'm busting my ass to deal with wolves that don't know up from down!"
