"When the King falls, and what was once green turns red, I shall stir.
It shall be on the day that dogs bark, and birds flee,
the clocks shall stop ticking, the age of the once fallen will arise.
Watch for my blessings of my children, and you will be blinded.
Listen for the rumors of my blessings, and you will become deaf.
On the day that Life and Death greet one another, hand in hand,
a child will be lost- yet alas, they will not.
With the rising of the new god, comes the decrepit loss of tradition.
The lands will turn to rust, the clock will start once more, and my children will strike.
On the day that the sun becomes the moon, I will rise.
And my anger will rage across the land,
my rage shall burn everything I love,
it will make the sun shiver,
it will cause the waters to freeze over,
it will bring Death himself to my knees.
Only then, will immortality become nonexistent,
as shall mortality,
with Time being my only witness."

"Long ago, the world lived under the rule of the Almighty Zycie, a woman blessed by the Earth.
She was said to have eternal beauty, more wisdom than even the all-seeing seers, and the power of the most feared depths of hell.
Zycie was placed upon her golden throne by the people, who worshipped almost everything about her- for in their eyes, there was not a more perfect being in both the living and unliving realms.
...but they all overlooked a single flaw- a flaw which could only bring about their downfall.
You see, with all this praise and worship and everything, Zycie was always under extreme pressure. Externally, she was the most graceful, the most kind, the most wise of all.
But internally, she was driving herself to the point of madness.
Sensing this within herself, the Goddess did two major things before stepping down from the throne. She made it known that all the women of all species would now be rare to find...and that families shall only ever have a maximum of two children.
With this said, all families with more than two offspring had banished all but their eldest two children from their families. The ones who didn't...witnessed a great tragedy.
The second thing was her prophecy, told only to the high priest Kostucha-- the only mortal ever said to also be a lover of the Goddess. With the knowledge that the Goddess didn't know when she would return to the waking world, the two lovers made a vow.
For as long as Zycie slept, the elven priest Kostucha would never age a day more.
For as long as Kostucha stayed within the temple, no tragedy would occur that involved her or her disciples.
Ultimately, this lead the priests of the temple of Zycie to shut their doors to the world, only to open once more for the chosen ones."
...
"A century passed, and the tragic tale of Zycie and Kostucha became just that-- a story. The Hilldew family became our royal family, three generations of wise human kings passing away...and the current generation becoming nothing more than a tyrant, corrupted by the new "priests" and their creation of the "God" named Rozmyte Hilldew.
This God has done nothing but take from the people, according to my sources...and he has already forsaken the wisdom of Zycie, seeing her as nothing more than a myth. However, his priests do not brush the story off so quickly--they already know of the existence that is "Zycie's Children".
...and they'll do anything and everything to stop them from awaking the Goddess."

And that's where you guys come in! As the "blessed children" of Zycie, each and every one of you has felt a calling that lead you to this temple.
Some of your characters may know each other, others could be complete strangers, but the only thing that they all notice right away is that something within them causes belief that none of you are foes.
But, you didn't think awakening the Goddess would be an easy feat...did you?

In this world, four main species coexist with one another peacefully. Of course, there are a multitude of monsters and beasts that live in this world-- and as our group of adventurers hear of and/or interact with said creatures, this list will be updated.

Sentient (playable) Species:
- Humans
-
There's the Humans, although the quickest to die, are also the most tenacious amongst the species. With their quick reproduction, they can be found all over- though a majority of the human population is centered around the capital Zeffari- home to the royal family- along with the surrounding towns. - Elves
-
The Elves, known for their cunning minds and vast knowledge, sadly aren't the best with following social standards. Most Elves make their home in the forests and jungles of the world, up in the treetops. Although, this only refers to the Elves who decide to settle down in one place-- many other Elves make the most of their lives by traveling all over the lands, stricken by a severe case of wanderlust in some cases. - Dwarves
-
The Dwarves, small in size, are considered the species with the most pizazz, if you know what I mean. Populating the inside of large mountains, and building marvelous cities on sheer cliff-sides, it's no wonder that most dwarves have a (sometimes over-the-top) sense of pride amongst themselves. - Giants
-
Finally, the Giants, averaged at a height of 9 feet, are the most heart-felt out there. With their large buildings and intriguing villages in the grassy plains, some like to think of them as simple-minded. Although, those who attempt to take advantage over the sincere and curious nature of these large folk...usually end up getting themselves into trouble anyhow.

Insentient (unplayable) Species
- Fairy
-
A species that's been considered as endangered-- and by now, extinct-- our group comes across a single fairy when they reach the Temple of Zycie.
Fairies are labeled as different "categories", usually matching with their alignment with the earth. Fire Fairies could heat up even the coldest of permafrost, Water Fairies could part great lakes with a simple question, and etcetera etcetera...
The exception of this great power, is that they can never reproduce-- leaving them without any sort of bonding instincts for the rest of their immortal lives. But, due to their small size, it's extremely easy to kill them once you find out their alignment. Drown a Fire Fairy, burn a Water Fairy at a miniature stake.
Fairies are highly valued amongst the world, as they have the potential to make any magic item as powerful as they wish with their enchantments. Because of this rumor, the poor species used to be on the market at prices one wouldn't even dare to imagine.
Keep in mind, nobody has actually seen a fairy since the last one died during the reign of Rodrick Hilldew--and that was about half a century ago.
-
As the group travels to and/or learns of new places, this list will be updated.
- Zeffari
-
A walled fortress of a city, it's directly in the middle of the single continent which makes up the world. Legend says that the Goddess Zycie helped create this architecturally-sound location in order to provide a safe place amongst the Home to many, it's extremely overcrowded with the human population. There are 3 main walls that categorize the city into multiple layers. Each wall houses a single gate, always open to the public, yet also guarded by the Zaffari Guards.
The outermost layer lies in between the perimeter and the first wall, and is populated by few farms and many slums. A large portion of the Zaffari human population lies here, as feeble farmers and uneducated slum folk. Though, there are few who aren't doing so poorly in this layer-- specifically, the Recreational Nightclubs, and "Rabbit's Foot" houses. There's a reason this is referred to as the "district of pleasure" within the city.
The second layer of the city lies between the first wall and the second wall, and is home to many merchant guilds and middle-classed citizens. Overall, it's the shopping district of Zeffari...and also the perfect place to find information.
The third layer of the city lies between the second wall and the final wall, and its inhabitants consist mainly of the rich and aristocrats of the population. With a multitude of privately hired security, many parties take place in this smaller layer of the city. Most importantly, the main Temple of Rozmyte Hilldew is located here within the spiffy and richly-decorated section of Zefarri.
The final layer is simply the Hilldew castle, home of the royal family, the newly-crowned "head priest" and their multitude of servants.
- Temple of Zycie
-
An old, decrepit temple found a few kilometers south of Zeffari, at the base of a mountain. The external appearance of the temple is overran with weeds and ivy. A waterfall from the mountain can be seen landing behind the building.
Inside, the building is still old, yet well-kept. The ground and walls are made from stone, cracks of old age seen among them, and many rooms lie on multiple levels. Throughout the hallways and rooms, one can always find some sort of imagery depicting a beautiful woman.
There is a large banquet hall, another large room that's unfurnished--with the exception of a colossal statue of a woman, wearing marble robes and holding a goblet-like cup.
There are stairs leading both to the second floor above ground, and numerous floors below. The second floor above ground is prohibited to be gazed upon--as it is the level that Kosbucha's closest priests inhabit.
What lies in the first floor beneath the ground are rooms for sleep and personal prayer...but past that, only the priests know.

Here lies the character sheet used for this roleplay. Anything marked with an asterisk is optional, and it doesn't have to be in the exact order I put it in here.
If there are any questions, feel free to ask!
(Also, I stole the idea from Sansa's Ultimate Character Sheet, just so we're clear.)
And Remember! Pictures are your best friends...so try to use at least one, please?

[/fieldbox] -
Here are some nitty-gritty details that are set in stone about this roleplay...that don't necessarily belong to any specific category. Some of these can be really important for character creation and world-building...so don't skip them please!
- Blessings
-
The whole concept of the Children of the Goddess is that they each have one "blessing" that will help them in the future. Sometimes this comes in the form of powerful magic, or extraordinary sense-enhancement, or...eternal beauty, and stuff.
But this blessing doesn't come without it's cost. As payment for being born with this innate gift, some terrible tradgedy must befall each Child. The death of a loved one, never being able to fall in love...the tragedy must balance out how powerful the gift is.
So, in your character sheet, please write out a blessing , along with a curse befitting of your blessing. Note that I will have to accept it, so try not to make it too outrageous.
- Inventory
-
As our adventurers travel throughout the lands, sometimes they will come across items that have usefulness--
--What is this, a role-playing game?!?
...Anyhow, each character will have an "inventory" section, which basically lists what junk they picked up during the course of their adventure. This section will be updated regularly in your Character Sheets. But since I'm not going to limit how much each character can hold, whatever your character currently has in their inventory is available to be stolen, lost, and/or damaged during the course of the story.
"But Raven, what if there's something really important in our inventory, and it gets stolen/lost?"
That, my friends, is what Siri is for.
- Siri
-
Siri was created by the Goddess to escort her Children.
Blessed with Space Magic, she can act as a storage unit, shrinking down items until they can fit in her item sack. The only problem with this is that using this magic greatly exhausts her after a certain number of uses.
So, with that in mind, Siri prefers to use her magic only when the group gets to a populated area. That way, the group gets to do their shopping, and she has enough time to recover her energy on the trip to the next town. Of course, she can use her magic a couple of times in between these trips, but it will take some persuasion...
Siri also can take on a human form, in the off-chance she gets separated from the group. In this form, she cannot use any magic, and she's incredibly fragile. If she takes on substantial damage, she will revert to her original form...unconscious.
- Magic
-
Throughout the course of the story, our group will encounter magic.
In this world, one is either blessed with the innate power to harness and direct the natural energy surrounding them, or they use artifacts.
This "natural energy", invisible to the eye, is something akin to the life-force of the earth- and follows the law of conservation of energy: that is to say, you cannot create or destroy this energy, but only transfer it.
Artifacts are defined as "any ordinary object that possesses magical power". It can be as ordinary as a lantern that never loses its light, or as complicated as an amulet that lets you transfer your soul into a smaller, inanimate object. Overall, they do the work for you, but at a price.
For example, that lantern? It only works if it's being held at all times. And that amulet? It would only have a certain amount of uses per day. There are certain exceptions to this rule-- one being if it was enchanted by a fairy, or any other creature that has the ability to use enchantments.

Now, for the fun part.
1) Try to post at least one paragraph, at least once a week. There's no posting order, so unless you're double-posting, you won't have to worry about much.
2) Don't be a major butt in the OOC, please. We're all here to have fun, so it really shouldn't be too much to ask that we keep all IC drama within the IC.
3) To show that you've read this far, please pick a color (like blue , for example) for your character and list it somewhere in your CS.
4) Remember, we're a mixed group here. Cussing and violence is A-Okay, but try not to do the undercover boogie or the bedroom twister anywhere here.
5) Finally, HAVE FUN!
7) To show that you've read all of these rules, please finish and place this sentence in the INVENTORY SECTION of your CS.
"I'm prepared to make a sacrifice to the Goddess in exchange for..." -
