[BCOLOR=transparent]/ captivating & deceptive /[/BCOLOR]
[BCOLOR=transparent]Kostas is a man who knows what to say and when to say; he's incredibly charming, and deliberately so, almost always utilizing such skills in order to get him something that he wants, be it a reaction or validation in the form of whispered sweet nothings under tangled bed sheets. He knows human emotions quite intimately, which is ironic considering that he is often at a loss when it comes to his own, and he knows the potential power of words, which effectively create something of a deadly combination that he abuses in order to gain what his fickle heart suddenly seeks. Kostas possesses a charm very much unique to him and unlike conventional ideas of the matter; he is not particularly eloquent or decorous, rather, something inexplicably dark and intangible lurks under the breezy, devil-may-care man he often presents to customers. Perhaps it is the danger that attributes to much of his allure, or simply the refreshing carelessness with which he treats life, but there is something so gravitating about the man, where you cannot help but think of him even after his presence has long gone. When he enters a room, heads automatically turn; it is difficult to ignore his person when so much of it demands your utmost attention, when so much as a single glance holds so much intensity and even the slightest of smiles is enough to send your stomach somersaulting. Like moths to a single, brilliant light, people are attracted to his being, where they suddenly find themselves unable to escape. No one can so beautifully sculpt a mind and then crush it to dust so quickly in their fist like Kostas can, and perhaps this, the chaos of emotions associated with him, is what draws them in.[/BCOLOR]
Such danger, however, is unfortunately paralleled by a dishonest character of many masks. Kostas is no stranger to lies, be it little, white ones or ones of greater magnitude and ultimately consequence-- the man lies, and often, compulsively to the point where he sometimes doesn't realize the falsities that so easily slip past his lips and wind themselves in the minds of lovers. He does it with little trouble, and his bad habits are only further reinforced by how eager others are to eat up every falsehood and untruth. Kostas, just as he is a man of charm, is a man of persuasion and manipulation. People are perplexed to find that they cannot help but want to do what it is he asks of them; he plants things in their mind so that they feel as if the sentiment was their idea in the first place. The face he shows towards clientele is different, and sometimes opposite, to the one he shows co-workers. To those who come to the Host Club seeking company and affection he is amiable, perhaps reserved, but nonetheless genial, which effectively disguises his suspicious evasion of personal questions. To co-workers, however, Kostas is irritable, irrational individual who terrorizes fellow hosts as means of venting his frustrations. He's trapped working in a Host Club that he could care less about for a woman he despises. Kostas, not used to remaining in one place for one time, has been tied down for an indefinite amount of time and the thought of having to waste away his youth there makes him constantly agitated.
[BCOLOR=transparent]/ brazen & possessive /[/BCOLOR]
[BCOLOR=transparent]Kostas carries himself with a pride that just borders arrogance, though he's adamant that the latter is simply confidence, not cockiness. However, that doesn't stop people from making the assumption that the man is narcissistic, which, to a certain extent, holds some truth-- it is no mystery that he fancies himself a catch, and he is not shy about admitting such. He is comfortable in his skin, with his body, and as a result sometimes fails to remember that others have not arrived at the same conclusion with their own. Thus, he is somewhat vulgar, using profanities as if they were poetry painted black. Kostas is more open to talk about subjects deemed taboo or distasteful, despite the fact that he is required to watch his tongue during working hours. He is, however, less willing to falter or bend when the subject of his ideologies is under attack. Regardless of right or wrong, Kostas never fails to stand for himself, unwilling to play the role of doormat. What he seeks is respect and admiration, neither of which can be achieved if he admits defeat and ultimately weakness. He is in such great fear of being taken advantage of that he makes a show of doing what he wants; if one wishes to truly control him, they must make him think that the idea was his to begin with, to present to him the illusion of free-will, for what Kostas seeks is an environment where he decides his fate. Thus explains his anger towards the Host Club, as the Mistress exercises blatant and unforgiving control over the man.[/BCOLOR]
[BCOLOR=transparent]A trait that has often lead to toxic relationships and romances, Kostas owes this part of himself due to the fact that he does not view others as people, simply objects and tools he can freely use, without consequence or thought, in order to fulfill his selfish whims. However, it doesn't stop him from forming inconvenient attachments that more than often manifest and make themselves apparent through the form of jealousy. After all is done, Kostas will go on his separate way and expect one to do the same with no questions asked, acting uninterested once he feels he has gotten what it was he aimed for in the first place. But as soon as he senses even the slightest inclination that his influence is lessening, suddenly, without warning, he reappears as a more forceful presence than ever in an attempt to re-establish himself in ones life as a primary figure. Such qualities, already innate, seem to have been intensified by his unfortunate position at the Host Club, which marks a time where he feels he is losing control over the chaos that has become his life. His anal-retentive tendencies have become amplified, as well as his recklessness, which tend to work against him, as he is suddenly left with more messes to clean in the wake of his destruction that only make him feel even more so at odds with fate. One often wonders why Kostas doesn't simply treat others better, and perhaps more so as companions rather than playthings. Though a valid point, unfortunately, he is of the mindset that once [/BCOLOR]he has invested enough of his time into something then it should stay his and remain such; should anyone threaten that, then they must be reminded he is not willing to share.
[BCOLOR=transparent]/ passionate & self-indulgent /[/BCOLOR]
[BCOLOR=transparent]One often gets the sense around Kostas that there is always some sort of electrifying, even at times overbearing, energy that exudes from his being. He feels emotions in strongly and in extremes, more so than others, which would not be such a bad thing if he was not so quick to act upon them. At times, its almost as if he completely lacks a voice of reason, as he almost always abides by his instinct, hence why he tends to invest himself fully in situations without looking back, or even forwards, for that matter. This particular quality lends its self a great deal to his obsessive nature, as once he begins, he is unable to easily stop-- self control is a foreign concept. Such explains why Kostas is particularly ardent about his beliefs and his hobbies; the man can garrulously go on for hours about the things that genuinely interest him, and once you've caught his attention, it's hard to shake him off. As a lover, he demonstrates similar qualities, as he is quite forceful and seeks a great deal of physical attention, which he feels necessary to validate himself and ultimately the relationship. Despite hating every second of his life that is spent working under the mistress, and though not nearly as popular as the Gentleman, Kostas has managed to build something of a reputation for himself, most of which are based upon two, primary factors: conventionally good looks and good sex. While one might seek the company of his fellow hosts for the sake of having a willing ear or shoulder to cry upon, most of Kostas' clientele come to him looking for more physical means of comfort, which he is more than happy to provide.[/BCOLOR]
Man is often subject to the follies of temptation, be it manifested in the form of lust or of gluttony, or purely avarice. Those of stronger will-power find such temptations easier to resist, however, Kostas is one that lies well beyond the sphere of the moderate and humble. From a young age, he has always wanted more, left constantly unsatisfied in which he was often faced with a sort of emptiness and felt that one-dimensional gratifications could somehow fill the void. It began with materialistic purchases; a new watch might stave off his restlessness for a few days until the yearning would creep back. As he grew older, such desires developed into ones that did not only account for what could be bought but also included pleasures of the flesh, desires to live what is coined as the "good life". His integrity and work-ethic, as a result, have severely suffered; they are considerably underdeveloped, as he caves quite easily to cravings in pursuit of short-term pleasure. Unwilling is he to patiently wait and cultivate long-term fulfillment, hence his inability to stay tied down to one person for very long. Kostas is one to ignore his voice of reason in order to chase after the yearnings of the heart. Morality remains a close friend when he is not required to use it, but it becomes a stranger when suddenly there lies something he wants. No person is off-limits, no item too expensive, no act too unscrupulous.

Kostas never knew his father, but as a boy, he feared him regardless. Tales of a menacing, foul man that would come creeping with the night while he was asleep never failed to keep the child in line. He was a good child, mild-mannered and of pleasant disposition, but fearful nonetheless-- his mother, Damaris, saw to it that there wasn't a time when Kostas wouldn't bristle at the very mention of the mystery man who had helped bring him into the world. She filled his head with fantastic, manipulative lies, kindling a fear within the two of them that dominated much of their lives, though her fear for an entirely different reason. A young, giggling Damaris with blonde curls and blue eyes, the product of strict immigrant parents and a traditional upbringing, traveled to Las Vegas with her twenty-six year old boyfriend for her eighteenth birthday against the will of her family. Damaris had often felt that her relationship with her parents was one that was entrenched in a constant battle for control over her life and the trip would be the perfect symbol of the new-found freedom she had achieved in reaching adulthood, a beacon of hope in the despairing christian college and stay-at-home wife future her parents had laid out for her.[/BCOLOR]
[BCOLOR=transparent]
It was just two weeks into the trip that, amidst nights spent gambling their short-lived fortunes away at casinos only to stumble back to their hotel room piss-drunk, Damaris, dollar store pregnancy test in hand, discovered the fated double lines that would go on to drastically change any plans the future once held for her. Her boyfriend, Richard, was more than receptive to the idea of raising a child, his own no less. She, however, expressed opposition from the beginning; it was she who wished to give the baby up for adoption, believing herself far too young and with far too much potential to let go to waste with the arrival of a son she could hardly care for. After much deliberation, which effectively exposed the weakness and futility of their relationship, they decided that the baby would go to Richard and Damaris would return to her family, ashamed, but her aspirations unaffected and in tact. Neither had expressed doubt of the agreement until October 23rd and the world of little Konstantinos, named after his grandfather, was brought into existence, transforming Damaris' own. It is often said a mother bonds immediately with her child upon deliverance, and though she had dismissed the notion as nothing but sensitive sap created to pander to the expecting, she could not help but think it true when, simply by laying her eyes upon the crying bundle in her arms, she fell instantly and utterly in love.[/BCOLOR]
[BCOLOR=transparent]Of course, Richard, nor his lawyers, would not give Kostas up so easily. As soon as Damaris was discharged from the hospital, thus began an onslaught of legal cases and court hearings, which ended with a ruling that granted the father, who was already established and able to handle a new life to care for, custody. Unsatisfied with only the occasional visit and desperate to keep her son, Damaris stole away with the newborn in tow. She lived for the next few months sleeping on the couches of friends sworn to secrecy and working graveyard shifts, always struggling and in constant fear of being caught, until she had earned enough money to rent an apartment out of town. The two never stayed in one place for long, moving from city to city well up until Kostas was 11. His mother struggled to alternate between raising a son on her own and working multiple jobs to support the two of them, so it was not particularly unexpected that he had something of a lacking childhood, forever the new kid at school and unable to keep many friends for very long before Damaris picked them both up by the roots and transplanted them in the next state over.[/BCOLOR]
[BCOLOR=transparent]It wasn't until Kostas was 12 that a man walked into the life that he shared with his mother, a man Damaris introduced as Arnoud Dahlman, her fiance. He was a lanky, pale man with a thick accent, and he seemed to come from nowhere; his mother had only been through brief relationships and flings, neither lasting more than two months, and rarely brought men home. They married quickly, and a Damaris Marinakis became a Damaris Dahlman. The family, now of three, moved to Denmark upon the urging of Arnoud, who was eager to return home with his bride. Such caused a great deal of resentment that Kostas felt towards the man, whom he thought had little right to so quickly arrive and then whisk them away, to steal away his mother. A distrust for father figures, which Damaris had steadily constructed in her son, made it difficult for the boy to ever accept Arnoud as anywhere close to a father, no less a step-father. It was with dread which Kostas received the news that his mother was pregnant with a girl, Arnoud's daughter and first child. He felt that the arrival of a child of Arnoud's would only further undermine the tentative position he held within the family, as it would solidify the man's presence as a permanent feature in the Dahlman-Marinakis clan. Kostas' relationship, however, with his sister, named Penelope and more commonly known as "Penny", was quite different than what he, or anyone for that matter, would have expected it to become. A constantly working Arnoud and Damaris meant that the responsibility of caring for his half-sister after she had grown out of infancy fell upon the adolescent boy's shoulders, and, rather than kindling bitterness, acted as the planting of an adoring and close dynamic. The two were near inseparable.[/BCOLOR]
[BCOLOR=transparent]A 16 year old Kostas and 4 year old Penelope saw the birth of Jacob, and, just fifteen months later, the birth of little Nicola, neither of which Kostas had the opportunity of knowing very well. He, a high school Junior just on the cusp of moving out, was often out of the house, not only because he was busy, but because the tensions between his parents and he had become so insufferable that he avoided the place as much as possible. During the hours which Arnoud and Damaris were at work, Kostas could be found at home with Penelope, though come dinner time, he was off with friends or simply driving aimlessly through town simply for the sake of not having to return until the household was far to asleep to notice that he had returned. The rift between Arnoud and Kostas was one that could be easily explained, as it had always been present from the beginning, but the one that was slowly beginning to develop between he and his mother was of a more complicated type. As he grew older, fear of his biological father was shed in light of curiosity, and questions of the man's origins became more frequent, with Damaris acting increasingly avoidant of such questions. He sensed a paranoia in his mother, that she was harboring a secret, which only bolstered his frustration.[/BCOLOR]
[BCOLOR=transparent]Only while attending college would Kostas discover the truth behind his origins. An undergrad student studying law, he had accumulated a great deal of stress before entering a state of depression to which he found no answer or explanation for. As if to make matters worse, while sifting through e-mails the morning of his 21st birthday, he came across a letter from a certain Richard Maddox. The contents would introduce Richard as his father, detailing the events that actually took place surrounding his conception and dispelling the fantastical lies his mother had filled Kostas' head with. He was, understandably, infuriated after reading the letter. Confrontation with Damaris did nothing to alleviate the unabated fury he felt, and, after an emotionally destructive dispute, he cut all ties with his mother. In the wake of the altercation, he, feeling somewhat liberated, arrived upon the realization that the path he was going down would condemn him to a cubicle for the entirety of his life. At 24, a year into law school, Kostas dropped out.[/BCOLOR]
[BCOLOR=transparent]Whether the decision was one of merit remains debatable; after he abandoned his studies, he moved into a flat with a roommate much older than he and of bizarre qualities. Though Kostas was never home, the flat later became largely his responsibility when his roommate went overseas to be with family, a feat that proved difficult-- with only a bachelor's degree as his highest education combined with his entitled nature, it was no easy task to find a job, let alone keep one. A great dissatisfaction with the pace of his life developed; he wished to live in luxury as opposed to squalor, to travel the world and bask in a multitude of cultures rather than remain trapped in Denmark, to carry out his days without having to worry about necessity or obligation. As distraction, he became a frequent presence in the nightlife scene of De Wallen, spending money he neither had or could ever pay off. His desperation increased as unpaid adn overdue bills steadily piled up. Eventually, Kostas met what he believed at the time to be a godsend, the mistress of a local host club, the Lonely Hearts. She acted as a patron to finance all of his expensive pursuits, treatment he reveled in. But as he felt her control over him tightening and his restlessness increasing, Kostas felt the desire to leave, though he was not as willing to part with her fortune. With the mistress still asleep one night, he pocketed one of her undoubtedly expensive pieces of jewelry with the intent of selling it and left.[/BCOLOR]
[BCOLOR=transparent]His efforts would become thwarted when, idiotically, he sold the jewelry to a man much more criminally experienced. The man easily tricked him and made off with the piece. Sensing impending doom, Kostas hoped that by lying low for a few months would be enough time for the mistress' expected anger to subside. Just days after, however, she appeared at his door, having encountered little hardship tracking down his residence, and, after explaining that he could not provide reparation for the stolen good, she replied with words so simple that at the time he had not realized the gravity of the statement-- "You'll just have to work it off." [BCOLOR=transparent]/ Damaris Dahlman | Mother /[/BCOLOR]
[BCOLOR=transparent]Formerly Marinakis, Damaris is Kostas' biological mother, a Greek immigrant who lived in America for a few years before settling in Denmark with her first husband, Arnoud Dahlman. Kostas' relationship with her, based upon a poorly constructed foundation of lies and manipulation, has grown increasingly strained as time passed and he grew, ultimately leading to the complete severance of ties between the two. Though she undoubtedly loves him greatly, Damaris has often struggled to play the role of mother, which partly attributes for the resentment Kostas feels for her, though only partly-- after discovering the truth about his biological father, his resentment grew bitter and she became something of a source for him to pin much of the blame for his neglected childhood upon. To this day, he refuses to speak to her, despite her persistent phone calls. Even the thought of the woman brings a foul taste to his mouth; he is so deeply mired in his anger that he cannot see himself forgiving her any time soon.[/BCOLOR]
[BCOLOR=transparent]/ Arnoud Dahlman | Step-Father /[/BCOLOR]
[BCOLOR=transparent]Kostas and Arnoud's relationship is a destructive one, in which they are constantly at odds with one another; a younger, adolescent Kostas was quite thrown off when his mother, who had been largely single for quite some time, announced her marriage to a man he thought had wormed his way in and corrupted the daily lives of the Marinakis family of two. From the beginning, he did not hesitate to express both his dislike and distrust for Arnoud, whom, to this day, has not managed to elevate himself much higher from the status of "acquaintances". Such frustrated the man, who struggled to earn his affection, and if not, at the very least his acceptance. Frequent arguing was nothing out of the norm for the next few years, which Damaris was typically caught in the middle of, forced to pick sides, often choosing Arnoud and effectively frustrating Kostas further. Though the two are unable to see it (even if they could, they would never admit it), they are quite similar in several aspects; unconsciously, they've shared some pesky habits and match each other in temperament, or the lack of one. Despite often disagreeing, a deeply hidden part of Kostas wishes to connect with Arnoud, to see him act as the father figure he so desired and so lacked while growing up.[/BCOLOR]
/ Richard Maddox | Biological Father /
Unfortunately, Kostas does not know his biological father very well, having just recently found out about him, as well as being separated by a large expanse of ocean. It was Richard (Kostas could never get into calling him Dad, no matter how much Richard insisted upon it) who first contacted him and it was through Richard that he found out the truth of his father's absence and mother's suspicious paranoia regarding him. They've met twice before, once when Kostas had just turned 21, and another time when Kostas drove to California to visit him, where he met Richard's wife and picturesque family. The entire occurrence made Kostas feel quite awkward and out of place, as if he were encroaching upon a perfectly functional home, so he has never been able to become quite accustomed to the Maddoxes, despite Richard's desire to grow closer to his new-found son.
/ Penelope "Penny" Dahlman | Half-Sister /
[BCOLOR=transparent]Penelope, the first child of Damaris and Arnoud's marriage, was born when Kostas was 11, leaving quite a bit of an age gap between the two. Of his three siblings: Joseph, Nicola, and Penelope, Kostas only really knows Penny, the former being born relatively close to when he moved out and was not around the family as often. His bond with Penny is quite unlike the relationship he shares with the rest of his family members, as it is, surprisingly, healthy and vibrant. They are particularly close, seeing as he was left to assume the position of both a brother and a parent while the Dahlmans were serving more so as financial providers, dedicating much of their time to their work. Despite the rift that has grown between Kostas and their mother, Penelope continues to talk to him, calling nearly every weekend-- such freaks out his lovers, who are quick to assume that it is another woman. She used to visit, though Kostas prohibited her from doing such after taking up a job at the Host Club, as he worries that her perception of him might change after seeing what he does for a living. Recently, however, Penny has hit something of a rough patch, and her relationship with her brother is suffering as a result. Her calls have stopped coming and she ignores his, causing a great deal of concern on Kostas' end.[/BCOLOR]

"My mother says lovers are like buses. You just have to wait for the next one to come along."
It seems that Kostas is perpetually stuck in a cycle of terrible lovers, one after another, who march into his life, masqueraded as some perfect light, only to leave in a destructive huff. He commonly attracts the type of person who is more interested in the idea of "fixing him" rather than in him, though such relationships do not last for very long, as they quickly grow frustrated and disillusioned after finally arriving at the realization that Kostas can only be fixed by his own will, and he certainly is not willing in the slightest. And, being someone who has had a number of girlfriends and even more so brief flings, Kostas has had his fair share of tumultuous romances. Three in particular have always stuck out as the most bizarre, the first of which involving a student named Rose attending the same college as he. A romance novelist, she was completely enamored with the image of her ideal man: tall, dark, and handsome, which she thought Kostas fitted perfectly. She was quite disappointed when, a few months into their relationship, he proved quite the opposite, however it did not stop her from trying to push him towards fulfilling such a standard. When he attempted to leave her, Rose, a kleptomaniac, stole his car keys, as well as various other necessities and possessions of value, and hid them for a few days so that he wouldn't be able to leave. The second of the three, and perhaps the most serious of all of his relationships, was with a woman named Emilia, whom he came close to marrying. After he decided marriage was not exactly a good idea, especially when concerning a man like he, in an act of desperation, she faked a pregnancy in order to keep him around. The third woman, Vivian, is one that occurred fairly recently and while he was employed at the Host Club. She was one of his clientele, and a dime a dozen at that-- yet another rich, privileged young woman who came to De Wallen on daddy's money for a girl's night out. However, she quickly grew attached to Kostas, even renting an apartment in the area at one point in order to be with him. When he ended it, she harassed him for several weeks, demanding that he take her back, only so that she could be the one to dump him.

/ the mistress | Caroline de Veen /
Caroline is a woman of will far more powerful than Kostas' own, coupled with the financial means and manipulative capabilities, to keep him successfully suppressed under her thumb. However, it is neither money nor an uncanny ability to influence and to exploit that has the man wrapped around her finger, rather, it is purely blackmail. It is, undoubtedly, a great source of frustration for Kostas to have every action dictated by a woman he so despises, all with a simple threat, a little what-if, a "reminder" of the unfortunate position he has grown increasingly entangled in. wip
basically he stole from her, like rly expensive jewelry
she caught him and he wasnt able to pay him back so she just has him work for her
unfortunately that entails a whole bunch of other stuff; hes essentially at her mercy
she blackmails him w threats of having him thrown in jail if he doesnt comply w what she wants
has forced him into being her lover
backstory: they met at a bar and hit it off bc both offered what each other wanted-- a distraction and money
relationship grew increasingly messy bc of complications w unsorted feelings and overall lack of fulfillment; it wasnt a good relationship
frustrations and tensions all around; constant arguing, angst, etc
he wanted to leave her but not her money so he took some of her shet to sell it off but got screwed over
and now here he is, at the host club 8)
tbh if anything good has come out of their relationship its that he has more room to be a terrible host and not get fired
/ the chaperone | Andre Prodanovic /
when kostas first started working at the host club he flirted w andre
and andre is like, homophobic, so dude was NOT having it
kostas is like "well fk u too" aND NOW THEY JUST REALLY DONT LIKE EACH OTHER
are always butting heads and arguing over the littlest things
around customers they're super genial and "hey friend" but behind the scenes tHEY ARe PUllING ouT HaIr anD kICKing ShINS
a bunch of petty babies tbh
/ the gentleman | Lorenzo "Valentine" Adalardi /
kostas abuses the heck out of this man
and honestly its because lorenzo lets him
/ the debauchee | Taedon "Helix" Zehren /
this guy knows too much
and it puts kostas on edge
hes got him under control 4 now
what with threatening to kill him and whatnot
/ the journalist | Wesley "Leo" Hassan /
hes pretty ok
super gullible so kostas tells him crazy shit just to see him react
he makes his coffee for him now (kostas basically treats him like an intern)

Kostas stands at an impressive height of 6'3", a height which never failed to garner much unwanted comments of how tall he is, and how much he dwarfs his peers, while living in the United States. However, after moving to Denmark, the comments are now a rarity; the male average is 6'0", meaning he no longer seems to tower over others or their female counterparts. Though he does differ in terms of skin tone; Kostas stands out against the mostly white crowd of De Wallen with his olive skin, which tends towards the tanner side, even when sun exposure is kept at a minimum. He is of lean build with well-defined muscles, a result of an intensive exercise regimen that keeps his athletic body nicely toned. With such long limbs, one would expect them to function quite awkwardly, though in motion Kostas proves differently; his movements are fluid and coordinated, deliberately powerful so that one cannot help but feel both intimidated and enchanted simply by watching him. Beneath ridiculously thick and low-set eyebrows rest lightly-colored brown eyes of an almond shape, framed by sparse yet wispy lashes. His dark brows, despite being relatively straight, are angled in such a way that makes him appear as if he is constantly smoldering, only adding to the imposing effect he seems to have over people. Kostas' hair, a brunette in color, is slightly overgrown from lack of a haircut for the past few months due to an uncompromising budget. Along his chiseled jaw, a perpetual cast of stubble grows regardless of how often he shaves-- come evening, a five o'clock shadow will have already begun to appear, thus he is almost never seen clean shaven for long. He possesses full, pale pink lips with a prominent cupid's bow, whose deep inner-corners make it seem as if his mouth is constantly turned up in a light smirk. His cheekbones, though not particularly high, are prominent and jut out in such a way that they further pronounce the hollows of his cheeks. It has the effect of making him appear older than he actually is, though only recently he seems to have reached an age that matches his appearance. Kostas' nose is one that remains the same width down the nose bridge, following a straight, constant path down before ending at a rounded tip. Due to his large nostrils, his septum is more visible than usual, and if one concentrates hard enough, they might notice the small bump where his nose was once broken.[/BCOLOR]
If one were to run their fingers through his hair, they would come across a thin scar, still relatively raised and new. He has had it for three years now, the result of a bar fight gotten out of hand and a beer bottle cracked over his head. The scar is concealed by his thick, tousled tresses, and as a result remains relatively unknown. Yet another scar, much older than the first mentioned, spans along the side of the knuckle of his index finger from where a kitchen knife missed its vegetable target and cut rather deep. It has faded and presumed the same color as his skin by now, though a faint, white outline distinguishes it from the rest of his flesh. The rest of his skin, however, remains smooth and cool to the touch-- his hands are often freezing, regardless of how warm he may feel. Often, Kostas smells like bay rum aftershave and cigarette smoke, which can be assumed is a result of working at Lonely Hearts. Though not particularly unpleasant, it is certainly unique, and has become associated with his image as a host. As for attire, Kostas wears the typical uniform that is commonly required of hosts, which consists of a dark suit and silver jewelry. On the job, he is more often seen in a black suit and tie with a simple, collared white shirt underneath, not particularly being one for extravagance. A silver band adorns his right ring finger, which bears no inscription upon its simple, polished surface. Outside of work, his clothing is much more casual; aside from a few, well-tailored suits reserved for work, his wardrobe is almost entirely plain cotton shirts and button downs. Kostas wears whatever is clean and comfortable, and it is not uncommon to see him bundled in a hoodie while lounging around at home.

/ quirks & tidbits /
• When anxious, agitated, or nervous, Kostas has a habit of running his hand, almost always his right hand, through his hair. One can tell when he's been particularly stressed when he shows up with his hair, which is typically haphazardly tousled, oddly raked in one direction.
• He smokes tobacco as means of stress relief. During his breaks he is usually outside on the patio with a cigarette balanced between two fingers.
• Kostas, because he sleeps with much of his clientele, goes through customers very quickly. Hence, he does not make a lot of money working at the club, ranking rather low among his fellow hosts in terms of commission. He is also older than a typical host, which deters some potential customers, as they come in search of younger males.
• Kostas possesses an irrational fear of needles; the sight of them makes him physically sick, as if he feels the urge to vomit. Getting vaccinations is quite a challenge for both himself and his doctor, so he's fallen a few years behind on them. It serves as the reason why he doesn't have tattoos-- although he would love to get a few, he'd never be able to muster the courage to subject himself to hours under a needle.
• Kostas has a bachelor's degree from when he decided to study law. Unfortunately, since he has not completed law school its self, he is not certified to practice law, and therefore the degree has become quite useless. It sits in a cardboard box in his closet, collecting dust.
/ coffee snob /
Kostas drinks a blatantly unhealthy amount of coffee; on a typical day he goes through four cups, and in each cup he puts about 3 sugar cubes. He's somewhat of a connoisseur when it comes to coffee, as he's had it so often and for so long, ever since he started attending university. It was this beverage that gave him energy when he was forced to wake up early in the morning in order to face the long, grueling hours of the day, and he drank almost exclusively espresso when forced to study up until ungodly hours of the night. Kostas has grown acquainted with several different varieties of beans and flavor combinations to the point where he can taste the subtleties in preparation and in undertone. So much of a small sip is enough for him to identify the mode of preparation and the type of roast, which he is extremely particular about when pertaining to his own personal tastes. The man, who is already a terror at the Host Club, becomes especially irritable when he hasn't had his morning coffee-- an essential to his survival.
/ stage name /
His stage name, Ares, is a play on his Greek heritage. The persona of the Greek God of War matches Kostas' own quite well that it seems a fitting pseudonym, and his customers seem to like it, as it evokes images of an all-powerful deity. Though he is only half Greek, his other half being American, he tells his clientele that he is fully Greek and was born in Greece. It is a barefaced lie, but they like it, as it adds a certain 'exotic' quality to the host. Whatever brings in money, he supposes.
