Added Tempest back to active list. Subsequently updated Rayvon & Maeven's achievements as a result.
-
-
Purple Ribbon: You took a hit for Queen and Country, and have learned how to better handle pain. (Minor bonus to dealing with damage, less likely to fall into shock or succumb to injuries.)
-
Mighty Cleave: "With one great swing the King laid dead, and all his kingdom mourned. With a second great swing, so too did Kyria, and that ended any hope, of a land: Forsworn." Like the mighty Archangel Typhon, you have a potent swing, and put a little more strength into it than most do. (Minor bonus to damage output & armour penetration.)
-
Immutable Connection: You have cured a wolf of his corruption in a previous mission, though unfortunately the rest of his pack was slain in the conflict. All that's left is two wolf pups which he protects zealously. You found him following you all the way to the Liverian capital, and the Mage's Guild have determined that the magical influences have made him somewhat more intelligent than the average wolf, and that he's formed a bond with you, following you, obeying you, and protecting you. It's possible that further developments will occur over time--if he remains alive--thanks to his genetic code having been permanently set into a state of mutable changes by the prior corruption he had. (Self-explanatory.)
-
Purple Heart: On the battlefield, you take injuries left and right to spare allies from harm. The state recognizes your contributions with this medal. You could display it proudly, but with your luck, it'll probably be smashed by something. (Taking injuries in the defense of allies lowers the odds the injury will be lethal.)
-
-
Mechanical Apprentice: After working tirelessly and seeing the fruits of your labour maimed by others, you've found yourself frustrated, but that won't stop you from making the best Mechanist Dragon of all time. Ever. Perhaps the only one of all time, really. (One free upgrade to Fafnir.)
-
Playing Possum: You can't kill what you think is already dead, or so you hope. (Minor bonuses to escaping the attention of enemies.)
-
Sharpshooter: You've become accustomed to aiming, then firing. Nifty. (Minor bonus to accuracy.)
-
Wild Woman: You've gained a certain reputation for being indiscriminate in who you display your most energetic affections for. In short: You're a slut, and everyone knows it. On the bright side, flirtations from you are more promising and more likely to inspire allies, convince neutral parties to do as you ask, and cause enemies to hesitate. (Self-explanatory.)
All parties except Elendra have voted on missions. Auto-assigning Elendra (as between Rheinfeld and Liveria, a vote on Rheinfeld at this point is wasted.)
HERE ARE THE ACTIVE MISSIONS.
#1: Goblin Holds (5 votes)
#2: Kingdom of Renalta (4 votes)
#3: Kingdom of Liveria (4 votes) (+1 with Elendra.)
#4: The Underdark Coalition (3 votes)
#5: The Imperium and Amazons (3 votes)
The Underdark Coalition, The Imperium & Amazons, and the Kingdom of Tuleria all had 3 votes. I rolled two elimination rounds. The Underdark Coalition won the first round, and the Imperium and Amazons win the second round. The Kingdom of Tuleria stands alone.
At least, this is how it would be if I didn't step in with Kouri to veto vote this nonsense. What follows is a bitch slap to your common sense. Sorry if it hurts your feelings, but this is just inane stupidity.
Just so you're aware, just so we're clear, the Kingdom of Tuleria has an actual demon portal in it. Raging right now. It's on its own now. That's illuminated in bright bold red in the mission text.
Tuleria has only 3 votes in it.
This is compared to...
Amazons/Imperium: They won't unite as a nation if this isn't taken, and one of the two nations will get a bit chaotic, but there's no genocide or demon invasion.
Underdark Coalition: They'll split as a nation into two nations, and have a harder time beating back demons, but there's no genocide or demon invasion.
Why.
If you're voting in-character, I want to sit you down for a moment and ask: Unless your character is a complete sociopath, why would you choose either of these missions over the Tuleria mission? This should be one of your priorities:
The entire point to the Queen's Blades is to stop demon incursions and influence.
Everyone who voted for these two missions before Tuleria was secured patently failed this task. If this was any other nation in the game world, your characters would probably be executed for incompetence, but thankfully this is Renalta, which is progressive and won't execute your characters for that.
If you're voting out-of-character and making a justification in-character: In what universe would you abandon France to a Nazi Invasion to ensure England and Scotland buddy up?
In what universe would this somehow make Great Britain safer against a superpower with a significant foothold on mainland Europe? The answer is that uniting two political factions doesn't magically justify leaving a third to be genocided to power hungry monsters. That doesn't make any coherent sense.
If that comes across as angry, I'm not. Just highly confused why only three of you thought it would be important to close a demon portal when
that's your job, and explaining what the possible consequences of your decisions are. Remember that your actions don't exist in a vacuum, they have direct consequences: Voting for a non-critical mission in exchange for an entire country is
completely insane and
criminally incompetent. So please, remember: The entire point of the Queen's Blades is to stop demon invasions and incursions. Here's a demon invasion. Don't ignore it.
I don't want to take away your ability to pick and choose your own missions, but when your decisions look like the result of insane troll logic or a four year old after drinking five shots of vodka, I have to step in, because IC-wise, it would
break the universe if Kouri abided by a decision to genocide an entire people for either the Underdark or the Amazons/Imperium.
Kouri is stepping in to veto. My final decision on which mission will be vetoed will come tomorrow, when mission voting will officially end. In the meantime...
Mikan will be auto-assigned as one of the two compatriots for the Renalta mission. I'll reveal companion voting tomorrow.
I just figured to post this early because everyone has voted at this point, and while I normally try to avoid stepping in to stop players from making mistakes and learning, this particular error is... Rather egregious, so I'm stepping in. Harsh truth at it is, I hope y'all learn, and continue to improve in decision making.
What about those who voted for Renalta or the Goblin Holds, or Liveria for that matter?
The consequences hinted for these missions also involve genocide and significant damage to kingdoms, so while I don't consider these to be "on-par" to the consequences of leaving a demon invasion unabated, I can at least understand the reasoning behind picking these missions as mandatory choices. Ergo why they got high numbers of votes: Just so we're clear, yes, most of your choices were reasonable given circumstances, though humorously,
all three of these missions could be feasible abandoned for other nations over Tuleria and I'd be able to justify it IC. I can't do that with Tuleria.
If y'all have any further questions, feel free to ask. For now, gonna work on that veto!
