Suzume

Grass-types? How did a Talonflame and a Steelix lose to Grass-types? Suzume wondered this as she watched the gathering of people and Pokemon fret about the injuries of the bird and steel snake. The female, even though she had a variety of wounds that needed stitches, appeared to be as stubborn as she was. She was moving about, which was somewhat idiotic to do. Her wounds may rip open further and it would be more painful. A feminine looking man with a Salamence and Dratini stated that they would look for berries before walking into the forests. Everyone was doing something except for her and Caius, who just stood there and watched.

"There's no way we can get the Steelix up the cliff, or whatever you're trying to do," she finally spoke, walking up to the Steel-type and looking over it. It was pretty beat up, and trying to move it over and over again would cause it more pain. The Noivern at her side followed, leaning over and sniffing at the beast. He smelled of earth and fear, which struck his heart with a bit of pity. What could he say to comfort the Steelix? It wasn't like he could say that everything would be alright; the group of humans may hold it captive or he could succumb to his wounds. As he thought, he heard something within the forest. Something was chasing the Salamence and its human back toward the shoreline...

All of a sudden, three green figures burst forth from the brush. Caius hissed angrily, beating his wings and leaping back from the attacking Pokemon. It was a Sceptile, eyes wild with bloodlust, flanked by two Grovyle. They appeared to want to do more harm than good, and the dragon looked at his partner. She too sprang back from the Steelix and the raptor-like Pokemon perched above his head. Suzume drew her katana, her nose wrinkling and brow furrowing as she scowled at their attackers. However, before she could do anything, a flame-tipped arrow whizzed through the air in a beeline headed for the Sceptile's chest. Surprisingly, the arrow missed, and the three Pokemon began to ravage the group.

One of the Grovyle snarled as it leapt towards Suzume, its long, blade-like leaves attached to its arms glowing brightly. It's fast! she thought, dodging the attack before it could do any damage. Unfortunately, the sudden lurch to the side knocked her off balance, and she faltered a little as she tried to regain her footing. The Pokemon came at her again, attempting to slash open her chest with a fluid movement. Now, the Grass-type was fast, but Caius was faster. The wyvern screeched and tackled the beast out of the air, slamming it on the ground and sinking his fangs into its shoulder. The Grovyle let out a blood-curdling scream as blood welled from its wound, knocking off the Noivern from its chest. The two Pokemon put distance between one another and began to circle each other, hissing and spitting like mindless creatures. Suzume watched, grinding her teeth as she clutched her katana. Caius would win. He had the advantage both in speed and agility, along with flight.

But she... was useless.

Wyeth

Too many things were happening too quickly. Apparently, the wounded bunch were attacked by rogue Pokemon. The woman, a pale-haired lady that looked much like another of their group, was carried to the upper cliff and told that she would be tended to. What would they do with the Steelix there? They would probably have to heal it there and then have it climb up on its lonesome. It was definitely troublesome, but what were they going to do? They couldn't just leave it there... It would be cruel and heartless. And even if they had to leave it, then they could at least end its life out of mercy. Something tells me we aren't going to reach Aurios before winter... Wyeth told himself, and a frown crossed his lips as he watched the situation escalate below them.

The savage attackers showed themselves in a flurry of violence. One Sceptile and two Grovyle began to attack the group below them, and Wyeth once again did not know what exactly was going on. He hadn't seen a battle like this in a while... The woman that was tended to suddenly shot a well-aimed arrow at the Sceptile that took its place on the Steelix's head, and he expected it to hit. He was surprised to see that the creature dodged the arrow, his eyes widening as the woman with the Salamence attacking the quick-footed beast before it could do any more damage.

Quinn spoke up, debating whether or not to help.
"Honestly, I think that there's enough people down there," he answered after a moment's hesitation, not making eye contact. "We should protect the camp up here just in case there's more of them. I don't think they're stupid. They must know that there's more of us." It was frustrating, but what could they do? Ciel huffed, glaring up at Wyeth as if he disagreed. "If things get too bad, then I'll shoot arrows down there. We can't lose to just three of those brutes."

@Sen

Night had followed up behind the group watching the rear most of the time. Leaving the rest of the group to deal with those up front while he dealt with attacks from the rear. He had even stuck behind the only person away from the group to conclude that she would have no accidents. Night adjusted himself on Venasaur's head looking down at him. "You're holding up perfectly Venasaur, if you get tired of carrying us just let me know alright?" He spoke knowing the pokemon couldn't actually respond in a way he could understand him but that didn't matter. The pokemon still came back with a simple response "Saur....." (Whatever) before continuing it's path. Night patted the pokemon's head before falling onto his back leaning his figure against the tree ontop of Venasaur's back. The eevee that circled the tree stopped only to climb on top of Night and settle down in his lap giving a soft 'Mew' before closing it's eyes.

Hours had passed and now they were at camp, all sitting around the fire communicating and such.It was peaceful at the time yet it would easily change the sounds of a roaring pokemon caught Night's ears. Although he had distanced himself away a bit to watch the group he jolted up and looked to his three pokemon surrounding him. He quickly made his way towards the beast. Apparently this pokemon was severely injured He ran his fingers down the side of the pokemon examining it closely. A steelix up close was something he didn't picture himself seeing, knowing the pokemon would always run and hide away from human contact. Night had even tried to gain one at one point yet never had the chance. Night brushed his fingers against it's hard exterior body looking over to the one who tried to lift it. "This pokemon is over atleast a ton in weight, you won't pick it up." He spoke before focusing back on the pokemon. It was then where the pokemon began to shake itself waking from the unconcious state. Night instantly jumped back and waited for the pokemon to relax a bit. "Come on Steelix it's ok, we're here to care for you not attack you."

He could see the grass pokemon who were now emerging from the area causing Night to wonder how they had even gotten to them without much notice. His attention averted to Suzume who had fallen on the ground, Night quickly rushed over to assist giving them his hand to help up. "Come on this really isn't safe for us to be here right now, let the pokemon handle it." He spoke only to duck from the attack of one of the Grovyles' The slash attack was countered by Night's ralts who raised it's hands and made a sound from it's throat catching the pokemon in a hypnosis. Night knew the hypnosis wouldn't last long but it was a start. And the pokemon had chosen to do that on it's own rather then waiting for a command. "Good job ralts!" He spoke before grabbing Suzume's arm and dragging her to her feet without much option. That attack had been a bit to close for his comfort. "Lets get over to the rest of the group." He spoke and began making his way around the giant steelix and towards everyone else. "Ralts, keep knocking them out with hypnosis. Be careful!" He spoke behind him leaving the pokemon to it's newly obtained job.

Upon reaching the rest of the group he looked down to the Steelix and watched his Ralts place another one into a slumber before rushing off away from battle. Venasaur on the other hand had joined the fight with Eevee still on it's back hiding up under one of the leaves. Venasaur used it's vines to smack other pokemon away from Ralts standing it's ground with a huff. Clearly the pokemon was angered at the other grass pokemon. Night's attention averted back to the steel type pokemon. "You know, we might be able to move Steelix if Venasaur and Salamance push it up the hill. Should be able to roll it up with little problems.

Midnight grumbled at the sight of the damaged steelix. Why on earth were they worried about some snake that was injured in battle. In his mind set if the pokemon was to weak to battle against grass pokemon then who cared what happened to it. A strong pokemon like that should have eaten the grass pokemon alive. Of course he didn't pay anyone else attention nor did he want to talk to them so he sat to himself in the group. While everyone was talking around the campfire, Midnight was away practicing kicks with Hitmontlee. While everyone was caring for the fallen pokemon and the girl, Midnight stood aside and watched. Until the Grovyle attacked, then Midnight was interested in everything. "Now heres exactly what I was waiting for! He said with a look of happiness that the pokemon were attacking them. Midnight pointed towards the closest Grovyle and looked to Hitmontlee. "Double kick that bastard!" The pokemon grunted with "Lee" (Yes sir!) then made his way into the fight only to have his kick to the Grovyle met by a slash attack. Midnight only smiled and shook his head. "A grass type isn't no wheres near as strong as a fighting type when it comes down to it."

Midnight glanced to his brother who was making his was up hill while his pokemon sat at the bottom to fight. He knew his brother didn't like fighting which made things interesting to him seeing he was caught dead center of a fight. Midnight looked to the Haunter who seemed to slowly appear next to him giving Midnight a wide eyed look with it's tongue sticking out. Midnight simply laughed and attempted to grab the pokemon's tongue watching his hand slip through it. Only response from the pokemon was a laughter. Midnight shook his head and looked back to his Hitmontlee who was trading kicks with the Grovyle's punches. "Be careful or I'll end up getting you, make sure none of these idiotic grass pokemon don't get near us. Put their asses to sleep and give them a few of those disturbing Nightmares you have rolling around that head of yours."

Kiyoshi X
Kiyoshi didn't try to stop the wounded girl, she wasn't going let her wounds rest at all. When Minami told Kiyoshi about the girl's other Pokemon and the steelix being hurt, Kiyoshi went over to Toshi. "Ying and Neno come with me, now." The Pokemon obeyed and hopped onto Toshi, who then flew them all down the hill. Kiyoshi could see the fight going down, Suzume's wyvern was fighting one of the Groyvle, they were fast, but most grass type Pokemon are fast. "Toshi, land down there." Toshi started to fly further down, at high speed. "Ying, get ready." Ying got into his spiral stance, he jumped off of Toshi and used Psycho Cut on the Sceptile that was harming the steelix, the Sceptile was knocked off of the steelix. After safely getting off of Toshi, Kiyoshi and Neno went to aid Suzume's wyvern Caius.

Kiyoshi took out his Phoenix Talons, ready to slash these monsters. Neno used Sucker Punch on one of the Groyvle, making it stumble backwards. "What is wrong with you, you do not come here and harms these people!" Neno was super mad at these Pokemon, he was usually the calm and nonchalant one of Kiyoshi's bunch. Even Neno had a breaking point, these Pokemon were getting out of hand, and for what reason? The Sceptile went to slash Ying, who dodged it and came back with a forceful Close Combat attack. "You gotta try harder then that." Ying started to taunt the Pokemon, which just made it matter.

While Kiyoshi, Ying, and Neno were busy fighting, Toshi stood over and watched. Toshi wasn't a big fighter, he would only jump in if he was needed. Toshi may not act like he can pack a punch, but he really does. His Aerial Ace could do a lot of damage, if only he would fight for a change. "Neno use Psybeam on the Groyvle, now." Neno rolled his eyes, but none the less he obeyed and shot a psybeam at the foe. The Groyvle was dazed and confused, it worked! "One down, two more to go!" Kiyoshi yelled to the group of People and Pokemon.

As a complete and utter chaos was unfolding a small group of four individuals slowly approached a steel snake. Never in his life had the only human in the group seen a thing like this, but then again such a huge creature wouldn't have a good time in the swamp. However even if he hadn't seen such a thing before he knew what a damaged Pokemon was. Around them there was also other Pokemon which the boy had never seen, but there was a few he knew and that was the grass type lizards. These things had also been running rampant in the swamp for weeks now and thankfully Eishi had learned a few things about them, like that their speed was what made them such great and deadly fighters.

"Decorem" the boy said in a soft voice as he pointed towards the giant steel snake. "It looks like it is hurt, try your best to help it." and as he finished speaking the tiny girl dressed in white rushed over to the snake before kneeling down, folding it's hands and starting to sing. The song was clam, filled with emotions and even as the fighting all around was much louder then the song itself it pierced through it. Her voice rose in volume and the air around her started to give of a faint pink glow which then began pulsated outwards from the source of the song. Hopefully this healing pulse at least provide some minor pain relief to the giant snake.

The three remaining members of the group headed towards the rampaging group of grass types and as they came reasonable close Eishi had the yellow spider climb into his hand before he used all his strength to throw it up into the air. "Stickyweb!" he yelled as the spider reached an area right over the Sceptile and the tiny spider instantly started to spin around releasing huge amounts of sticky web, coating the ground and anything else beneath it. Hopefully not to many allied Pokemon would get caught in it.

Then they were two. The boy and his living candle. Leaping of Eishi's shoulder the candle landed on the ground and awaited instructions. "Okay here goes" before he had even told Sagikasai it's purple flame grew in size until the flame was bigger then the wax body. "Inferno!" and with that a beam of intense heat shot from the candles mouth and onto the sticky web the spider had just released, making the would think into a huge net of sticky flames.

Now all Eishi, Naraku and Sagikasai could hope for was that their combo would at least do some damage to the rampaging creatures and hopefully not so much to everyone else.

Before she could even yell to Salamence to use Hyper Beam, people were already attacking the pokemon she wanted to attack. Just when she was turning to check on the Steelix, a Grovyle jumped out at her and slashed at her. Dianna dodged to the right, but the Leaf Blade still connected, slashing her cheek. "Tch! These things are too fast for me to get my heavy sword close! Longwei, Fly!" Salamence then swooped down and hit the Grovyle at full force, knocking it back quite a bit. "Now, Longwei!" Then the huge, blue dragon flew at Dianna, grabbing her and landing while also setting her on his back. "Charge!" He swiftly ran to the Grovyle while she held her sword out to the side and slashed when the grass pokemon was close enough. After the slash, Salamence circled around, allowing for another one to the back of the pokemon.

Before the sword connected, however, it jumped up and used razor leaf, knocking Dianna off of her dragon and causing him to fall ontop of her right after she hit the ground. The leaves had lodged themselves all over Longwei's side and stuck into Dianna's arm as well. She let out a yelp, which wasn't too awfully loud either. Longwei instantly reacted to the feeling of his master under his huge and heavy body, trying to get up as fast as he could without crushing Dianna even more. The only thing he managed to land on, though, was her left leg, leaving her stuck until Salamence was able to get up. "Yeah, one down indeed! Get this Grovyle out of here before he decided he wants to do more than crush my leg!" She looked at Salamence who, for some reason, wasn't able to get back to his feet. What was going on? Is he hurt that badly? Were the leaves in his legs removing his ability to move them? She didn't know, but she wanted so badly just to help him, but couldn't even stand up...

The chaos beyond the hills unfolded ever so beautifully, for the members of the alliance engaged in combat with the darkness they've longed to find. This was what Phoenicis wanted from the very beginning; the nations' stalwart defenders all in one place, doing battle with one enemy. And though the enemy has yet to unveil itself to these brave warriors, its pawns, these Grass-type Pokemon corrupted by the wickedness, was as much a test as the source of the evil. Her eyes once more narrowed at the sight of her flaming arrow miss its target, but it mattered not, for she knew the next one would pierce her assailant. She did not care for his Grovyle compatriots. All Valerian wanted was their pack leader. She watched from the camp above the battlefield, analysing every pause and window of opportunity before she could strike. As she gazed upon the havoc wreaked, she readied three arrows between her fingers. With Borvo's flame, they too, were ignited into flaming arrows. They flickered in the daylight, and she was naught but a silhouette to the men, women, and Pokemon beyond the hills. She outstretched her arm and followed the Sceptile with her eagle eye.

It was then, at that very moment, that she knew when to strike. A yellow arachnid, yet another Pokemon of the bunch, caught the Sceptile in its webs. It was out of pure fortune, seeing as the Sceptile had the fleetness of foot to dodge such an unsubtle attack. However, the disarray of battle proved that even it, a master of battle tactics, would falter sooner or later. From atop the hill, Valerian smirked. It was payback time. Valerian made a loud whistling noise, and to this Gustav's eyes widened. It mightily rose from its position, ignoring the scars and gazed upon the helpless Sceptile. Its greatness casting a long, rock-strewn shadow upon both the allied forces and the Grovyles, its steel body reflecting specs of light in all directions. All the Steelix needed was a couple of moments doing nothing, and it would regain a little energy and thus, the will to fight. These people and Pokemon, in their honour, protected the mighty snake. And so, Gustav will repay them kindly.

With one, fell swoop, Gustav caught the pack leader in its iron maw, its sharpened teeth digging into the Sceptile's arms and body. It disabled his assailant's arms so that Sceptile may do nothing. The mighty Steelix was careful not to hit any of his aid and, upon crunching the leader within the grip of its jaws, stood up even higher. Gustav directed his head, making the Sceptile lock eyes with the daughter of his master. Valerian, in response, smiled and whispered a short prayer to Entei, hoping that upon Sceptile's death would eradicate the darkness from within. The abrupt actions of the Steelix would then surprise the rest of the party as well as the Grovyles into inaction.

She let loose her flaming arrows, and mere moments, pierced the corrupted Grass-type in the chest. The three arrows create a sort of triangle within the bleeding Pokemon, who began to burn and smoke from the inside. Their attacker was dead, and though this was so, Steelix once more slammed his head and the Sceptile into the ground before throwing its lifeless carcass like garbage. Steelix threw the scum back into the forest. With another, mighty roar, it looked at the Grovyle and huffed and puffed like an angered bull. Gustav taunted the Grovyle as it cast its shadow above them. It moved its iron head closer to the two Grovyle and breathed on them, to which the remaining Grass-types fled.

The battle was over.

Gustav laid flat on its rocky belly again. Borvo nodded, acknowledging the might of his brother in arms. Knowing she was still weak, Valerian slowly walked back to the makeshift bed and rested her head upon the wood. She couldn't thank the people just yet, since they were still below the waterfall, but Minami was there, and so were others. Smiling at her nurse and doctor, who reminded her of her late mother, Valerian whispered a soft thanks. She would also give her thanks to the others who fought valiantly to protect Gustav. "Thank you everyone."

Borvo flew down and perched atop Gustav's head. Since the Steelix was still a tad bit hurt, they stayed by the riverbank as Gustav began to drink its cold waters. Gustav and Borvo began nodding to the brave Pokemon warriors, giving their own form of gratitude.

The girl watched on with sadness on her face, watching her team members fight the corrupted Sceptile and its companions. So this was the extent of damage it could do to a Pokemon, whatever the 'vile thing' was, it was heartbreaking to see once kind-hearted and caring Pokemon to fall underneath the thing's spell. The Grovyles and the Sceptiles she knew growing up would have never attacked humans or Pokemon like this unless it threatened their peace and their dens. Stargrove remained by the Steelix's side, the healing properties of aromatherapy leaving behind the faint scent of flowers. Even Stargrove had an expression that could only be interpreted as disappointment.

As the Steelix began to thrash about, the green figures defending themselves from the attacks from the humans and their Pokemon, her steed leapt out of the way, not wanting to get hurt. She could do little in this battle, her Stargrove could only use grass-type attacks, useless against these warriors of the forest. Gritting her teeth, all she could do was get out of the way of the angered Pokemon and their attackers.

When at last the battle seemed to have settled down, she felt a little guilt as she had done little to help with the battle. "Would any of your companions like to be healed?" the young girl piped up, the smell of flowers enveloping her steed once more. If Thea specialised in helping wounds of people, it was Stargrove who surpassed her skills in Pokemon healing with the power of aromatherapy and Leech Seed.

By the time Salamence was able to recover from the knock down and stand up, it was over. The loud roar of the steel snake made Dianna cover her ears until it was done. "Sorry, Longwei. I shouldn't have rushed things..." She spoke in a soft tone to her pokemon, who in return, rubbed the top of his head against her cheek. She stood up, only to cringe in pain of her injured leg, grab it and then look around in hopes no one saw or would try to help her. She didn't want any help from anyone, she figured she could just walk it off. If anyone tried to come to her aid, she would simply shake her head and continue on up the hill, fearing she would only seem weak in the eyes of her comrades. She didn't even bother to pull out the lodged leaves from her arm, side and leg, instead she helped her pokemon walk up towards the camp.

As soon as she made it up the hill, Dratini immediately greeted her with a jump onto the shoulders. Dianna only smiled before thoughts rushed through her head. As she let Longwei lay on the pelt, she began swiftly and carefully removing the leaves from her pokemon's legs, wings and side. "Sorry, Longwei. You wouldn't have gotten hurt if it weren't for me rushing into things. This limp I have received is only my punishment for doing so. I believe this is a warning from Ho-oh, telling me to be more careful next time. I'll be sure to do so before I hurt you or anyone else again. I swear..." After that, she sighed. Longwei responded with a nudge from his short, dragon snout. "Sal- Salamence." (Fret not, Dianna.)

"What the-" Tachibana was slightly shocked by the appearance of Sceptile and Grovyle. He was not aware that they inhabited these areas. As the reptillian beasts began to attack the group, Tachibana had to take action.

He drew a blade and put its hilt in his mouth, then drew another pair of katanas to dual-wield with his hands. In other words - triple wielding.

He was well aware of the general physiology of grass-type Pokemon. The leaves present on Grovyle's head, arms and tail - they would grow once more in a matter of days to weeks if removed. However, these leaves were important for performing certain attacks. Without them, they would be weakened, or even imbalanced.

During the battle, Tachibana had sliced the leaves from the Grovyles' leafy tail, and leafy 'wings', in an effort to imbalance them, which it did, resulting in a victory by the team that attacked soon afterwards.

"My actions have only imbalanced the feral ones. They should return to normal in a matter of days of rest, based on their size. Such is the regenerative capabilities of certain Grass-type Pokemon."

Tachibana then felt a sharp pain. He held his hands at where "One of them used Leaf Blade on me. Thanks to my garbs, my wounds are reduced, but I fear they may grow if left untreated."

The petite woman slid off her steed, looking up at the tall man who had approached her. As he spoke, the more she looked concerned, peering down she spotted a bloody wound. She was glad that his clothing was thick and protective enough to save him from the full brunt of the Pokemon's attack. Thea took a deep breath and nodded, opening her bag, filled with herbs and berries. The scent of flowers from Stargrove's aromatherapy was calming and gentle, she knew it would be effective for surrounding Pokemon and their injuries, but it did not do much for humans. That was why Thea spent most of her time learning how to treat humans over Pokemon, even if she loved the creatures just as much as people.

Picking out specific plants suitable for treating external injuries, she began to mash them together into a paste, smashing the plants into a mush in a glass jar until it looked like a mess of forest green glob. It looked disgusting, but in a way it was a sign of its effectiveness. "Apply this to disinfect it, but if the wound is too large I might have to sew it up..." she murmured worriedly.

@Crow

"Thank you, Thea..." he applies the paste to his surface wound. "I was not aware that Sceptile and Grovyle inhabited this land. I could only infer its inhabitants from the Pokemon that flew in the sky when we first got here. In other words - I am unsure if anything else will await us before we encounter our first Trapinch trap."

Tachibana feels the land with his feet.

"Hard and rocky, much like the rest of the land. However, we must still be wary."

indie-flower.regular.png

"Neither did I." She shook her head as she spoke, her words held a tone of puzzlement and lingering concern for the tall man in front of her. "I'm more surprised by how they behaved... I've never seen Sceptiles or Grovyles act like that." Thea thought back to the few of their kind she had met in the Verdante forests. Proud Pokemon, but they had common sense. They seemed to be peace-loving, quite relaxed creatures, unless those that were precious to them - family and homes - were threatened, they could also be merciless warriors of the forest. "Is this what that thing is doing to the Pokemon...? Disgusting." Her last word was spat out with contempt and malice, a shadow crossing her pale features of her child-like face.

The break was hard-earned. The pack of Stantler had been moving down the mountainside nearly all afternoon, moving to a more suitable breeding location. Finally the pack leader signaled them to stop in an opening beside a river, upstream of a waterfall. It was an ideal fertile location to rest and eat, though not nearly quiet enough to stay for the breeding season.

Shoulders back. Wrist straight. Arrow nocked. String drawn tight.

Deep breath in, just like father taught.

CRASH.

The stantler popped their heads up and darted out of the clearing before the arrow could be released. Gentry lowered his bow disappointingly, though he didn't have long to focus on his missed meal, as the sound driving his food away was coming from the direction of the camp. Before he could even stand to his feet, another crash shook the ground beneath him. Absol perked up, tilting his head to listen and letting out a growl.

"Looks like dinner will have to wait, Absol." He threw his bow over his shoulder and brought his fingers to his mouth to let out a sharp whistle Moments later Salamence had landed in front of them and the two jumped on. "Back to camp, Sal. Might be trouble."

As they soared close to the camp, they could see the massive steelix below, likely the cause of all the noise, and managed to witness final seconds of the battle. Salamence landed on the hill above the waterfall where a group of people were standing by an injured woman who wasn't with the group originally, the one who ended the battle with her flaming arrows. She was laying on a wooden bed, being tended to by Minami with Quinn and Wyeth close by.

"I leave for one minute and all hell breaks loose." He stood and looked at the people and pokemon below and could see a few of them had been injured in the battle, as Thea was tending to their wounds. He shook his head in anger. He was angry at the pokemon for attacking and a bit disappointed in himself for not being around when they did. He looked to Minami who had stitched up the stranger and gave an approving nod. Gentry then turned and knelt by the makeshift bed. "I hate to do this while you're still recovering, but we need to ask you some questions. Who are you, and why were these Pokemon after you?"

The next day...
Suzume
The rays of the rising sun did not wake her up. Nor did the murmurs of the waking people. A warmth above her head woke her up, the steamy breath stirring the stray strands of hair that had fallen loose from her bun. A lazy hand reached up to stroke the stirring Arcanine above her, and the striped beast grumbled sleepily as he tilted his head into her calloused palm. Suzume's glossy eyes slowly opened to the scene in front of her, her fingers working themselves into the soft mane of her mount. Before she had fallen asleep, she had caught sight of many people retiring to their separate corners of the camp to rest themselves. Some stayed up to protect the group as they slumbered, and she could spot some of them leaning against trees, their eyes swollen and rings shadowing the skin underneath their sockets. Something told her that she should have stayed up as well, but she found herself a bit too tuckered out in order to be a night guard.

She stretched her arms above her head, a yawn escaping her lips. It was a tad too early for her liking, but something told her that they should get moving. More Grovyle and Sceptile could be shadowing them, and might attack before long. Or they could have alerted some bandits or bounty hunters that could be after them. We have to get to Aurios before winter... A stern voice rang in her head, one that made her bitter and want to stay where she was even longer. We'll lose many of our men if we don't get there before the first snow.

"Ugwahhh~!" An unusual voice escaped her lips as Suzume stretched one more time before she got to her feet. She felt a little light-headed, but that might have been because of the bad sleep that she had. Hopefully, she could sleep better the next time. "Everyone has to wake up! Get off yer lazy asses and get moving! Unless you all want yer asses to freeze in the north..."

Mauve sighed, lifting his head off of his crossed paws. The violet-eyed Umbreon was annoyed that his master made such a ruckus so early in the morning. He shook out his fur as he got to his feet, his tail swaying slightly. 'I forgot how terrible it was to be woken up by Suzume,' he said to Seraph, who remained quiet as he stood up, himself. The Dark-type leaped on top of Suzume's shoulder as she began to walk around, lightly kicking people in the side if they weren't up by the time she got to them.

"Come on now, don't be lazy!"
Wyeth

He had been of the ones to stay awake.

It was absolutely astounding to see the sun set and the moon rise. While one could see it more clearly in Fulmion, the way that the moonlight bathed the rock and water was beautiful. It was the type of thing to show a pretty lady or for a poet to look upon for inspiration. Not to mention the stars that dotted the broad expanse of black above his head; it was much like looking at a black cloth sprinkled with diamonds. The only thing he didn't like, however, was the forests and cliffs. Even though Lux stayed beside him the whole time that he stayed awake, he couldn't help but feel like something was watching him. Beady eyes twinkled from behind the cover of brushes and branches, making him shiver once or twice in their presence. The reason that this was scarier than facing an opposing army... was that you could tell what they were capable of.

By the time that the sun came up, Wyeth had fallen against Lux's neck, his lance clenched tightly in his hand. The men and women were beginning to stir from their sleep, which meant that his-- along with the rest of the night's watch --had done their job. His Charizard's ice blue eyes rested on her exhausted owner as he rubbed the skin under her jawbone, a weary laugh bubbling forth from his lips. "Let's hope that no one attacks while everyone's awake, Lux," the Fulmi told his mount, a small grin crossing his chapped mouth. The dragon simply shifted her feet before following her owner out of the forests, her flame-tipped tail held out behind her. The sound of her footsteps kept him awake, at least, for now.

The sound of someone yelling woke him up even more, and Wyeth tucked loose strands of hair behind his ear as he watched the blonde from before go around and begin to wake everyone up. He flinched when she delivered a painful kick to someone's side, but thankfully the victim woke up and did not dare to confront her about her rough awakening. By Raikou, she's something else, ain't she? He shook his head, turning towards Lux and strapping his lance to her back. Making sure that it was firmly secured (for if he dropped it, it wouldn't be a nice sight), he pulled on his bow and strapped his quiver to his own back. Ciel joined his side as he climbed on Lux's back and waited for the group to set out. Without falling asleep, of course.

"It appears that the sun has risen once more," Tachibana awakens as the very sun in the sky shined upon all. The dawn of the day bathed upon everyone.

As Tachibana rises on his two feet, he feels the very ground.

"The ground is slightly softer than before. We must be wary," Tachibana speaks. He looks upwards as he gazes upon a few Swablu, simply hovering across the land.

Dianna had been tending to her pokemon all night while he slept, making sure that her loyal Salamence companion was safe from any harmful infections. She had yet to tend to her own injury, the crushed leg, but she knew it was terribly unlikely for an infection to catch her. She didn't need anything for her leg, at least in her mind. She was still rubbing her leg to make it feel slightly better and winced every once in a while due to a pain spike when she moved it at all. When the sun started to come up, she took a deep breath and looked over at all the stirring bodies then smiled. She liked to know everyone was safe, another reason she stayed up all night. Then she looked to who seemed to be the leader of everyone since she was waking everyone up.

"Quite a morning..." She mumbled as she softly woke her Salamence and placing the still, and heavily, asleep Dratini in her bag. She knew the poor thing needed its sleep after the long day it had yesterday, so she refused to wake her. "Sala, Salamence- Mence." (You really should take care of your leg.) "Yeah, I know you're talking about my leg. No, I don't need help with it. It's fine." Dianna tried to convience him that she didn't need anything as she patted him on the side. "You can't fly right now since your wing is still healing from that injury. Sorry, bud, you're going to have to walk." She turned to the woman giving wake-up calls and mounted her Salamence, ready to go.

Kasumi

Kasumi had stayed awake the entire night, watching both the night sky and her soon-to-be companions. They had no idea she was there, of course, and she intended to keep it that way until the time was right for her to join them in their journey. Once she figured out what their journey was. Obviously they had one, a group this large would not have formed if there was not set goal for them to achieve. However, she was fearing that she might have to ask them plainly what their mission was, otherwise she might never get an answer from just eavesdropping.

The beams of sun first peeked over the horizon and she sighed softly, causing her Absol, Kiseki, to glance over at her. "I'm fine." She assured him, ignoring his doubtful gaze. A small pat on Taika's flank awakened the large Arcanine, his huff of disappointment awakening Mokin from her perch in the tree next to Kasumi herself. The Staraptor gave an annoyed squawk and flapped onto her shoulder, pointedly ignoring the two males of her group. Kasumi smiled softly at the familiar antics of her family, and rose to her feet, stretching to make sure she was limber for the rest of the day. She would continue to watch that group of people and Pokemon, and decide on the right time to reveal herself. If nobody else found her first...

It was getting late, and the dangers had just been avoided. Gustav and Borvo was still down the river, whilst Valerian rested on the uncomfortable bed, but a bed no less. Gentry, who was unkind to ask questions so directly, was met with a glare from Valerian's eyes. As weak as she was, Valerian coughed a little. "I'm from Leonias," she said, her voice appearing to have spite. However, she recognised the man, Gentry, as her countryman. Though she did not know him personally, both he and Valerian lived different lives - he being a lowly farmhand, and she being a warrior. "I think I've seen you before. You're from Leonias too, yes?" She asked him, drinking some tea. With a hand quick in spite of her injuries, she reached for his collar and drew him close to her face. She placed her cold, crisp lips before his ear and began whispering. "Leonias hired me to scout ahead before this group. I usually work alone, but I was compromised. I myself didn't even go to the nations' meeting. Those who hired me firmly believe in our nation's principles, and I myself don't trust many of your... compatriots." She pushed him back, thinking of her father and mother, who were killed by cruel men from Aurios. "Talk to me in the morning... it's getting late." And with that, she dozed off into the cold and bitter night.

@Chexmix

The sun lingered off in the distance, reluctant, perhaps, to show its face and wake both the nations and the wild Pokemon. The light of day gleamed beautifully against the group, reflecting off of the waterfalls. Gustav, the mighty Steelix, and Borvo, the loyal Talonflame awoke below the falls, shocked and thankful that no more predators attacked them. They were fully healed and ready to go. Valerian, however was still crippled and bleeding. She had broken the makeshift bed to create crutches. With a loud whistle, Borvo flew towards the group, while Gustav stayed behind. She looked at the group. "Forgive me for the hassle, everyone. I thank you all for the help." She said. "My name is Valerian Albright, a high-ranking officer of the Army of Leonias, Archery and Marksmanship Division. I was sent to scout ahead to retrieve information on the wickedness that has befallen these lands."

The sun's light reflected brilliantly off the cascading waterfall. Creating an extraordinary palette of pink, purple, and orange against the clouds and waters, it was truly a sight to behold. Many travelers across the years had proclaimed Leonias to have the most beautiful sunrises. It seemed to Gentry like the sky was constantly ablaze, a fact that was slightly unsettling but also comforting. He could never forget the fire that burned away his past, but it was a constant reminder of Entei's righteous flame which similarly blazed a trail into the future. Gentry had seen the same sunrise a thousand times, each one evoking the same emotions.

As Gentry leaned against his sleeping Salamence companion, he was considering the words of the woman from Leonias who had been attacked yesterday. It wasn't odd for a person from Leonias to recognize Gentry, especially a warrior, as he was a decorated war hero himself. She spoke of Leonias' Principles which her employer firmly held to, and those words seemed off to Gentry. He had been sent by the King of Leonias, the mission an attempt at forging long-lasting peace between the nations. While he certainly didn't trust all of his companions himself, his loyalty to the King was unwavering, and if the King wanted peace then so did Gentry. Who then was her employer, tasking her to spy on the group in the name of Leonias' principles? He turned the questions over in his mind overnight as he stayed up to keep watch over the camp, cleaning and sharpening his greatsword.

Gentry's thought were finally interrupted as Suzume was making a war path through the camp waking others up. As she reached Gentry he held out an arm towards her boot. "That won't be necessary. I've been awake all night." He pushed the blade into the ground and used it to help himself stand, then raised it over his head and into the sheath on his back. He then whistled, waking up his pokemon who were all huddled around Salamence, who began standing and stretching their legs. Gentry observed the others as they woke up, they were almost pitiful. Several hurt and hobbled, others clearly exhausted. Thea was surely fatigued from the amount of healing she had been doing. Gentry looked to Suzume and spoke, "It seems like we'll be travelling slow today. Some of the others did not fully tend to their injuries. We need to reach Aurios as soon as possible, but we can't travel in this condition. If we can make it north to my hometown of Stonesthrow, we'll be welcomed and given fresh supplies. It would take two weeks at the rate we've been going, and won't take us much out of our way. We'll never make it across the trapinch valleys as we are."

Night lookes to the female who was up and yelling for everyone to get off their lazy asses and get up. He on the other hand had been tending to his ralts who seemed to have a nightmare and from his understanding it was one of a giant ghost creature yet he couldn't figure out the full story. Night had assumed it was his brothers doing with his haunter seeing they were laughing the night before right before everyone had gone to sleep.

He watched the female start walking and kicking people who were still down only to frown seeing her get closer and closer to his brother knowing it would end bad if she kicked him. His brother was never a morning person as it was and he knew that yet he couldn't exactly stop it. "We're moving? Where too exactly? "

------------------------------------------------------------------------

Midnight slept quietly and soundly after having fun the night before giving one of his brothers pokemon a nightmare as well as a few around the area. It was something comical to him and he actually enjoyed doing this with the haunter he had. It made things fun and entertaining to see the scared people and pokemon.

His sleep was soundly when a sound of a female screeched across the room towards the group of people who were still down. Rather than getting up he simply rolled over and ignored it until she was about to kick him, yet before he could react Night had shaken him and woken him up his self. He would get his brother back later but now wasn't the time.
