Initiation: A Story of Young Heroes
Click for IC Link

Welcome to the OOC for a soon to be (hopefully) amazing roleplay. The idea is simple, young superheroes rise to emergency situations when the veteran heroes appear to be missing. A dark magician by the name of Mercy has gathered enough black magic to unleash her sorcery on earth (the story begins in an original city titled Aerial City) . Her plan was to ultimately wipe out everyone with altered genetics (superhumans) and send them to a void with no return. Unfortunately she was naive and her magic did not have the strength for such ambitious plan.

So, to the extent of her ability she managed to cast a spell powerful enough to send all the adult heroes to her make-shift void - not exactly her plan, but all her dark magic could muster. She believed that with them gone she'd stand a chance in the conquer of Earth, then eventually destroy it. To her surprise, the young protectors of this beautiful planet would soon rise to the occasion and fight the battle their idols are unable to.

This is where your Original Character will begin their journey. Already a hero of their own (or just beginning their voyage to hero-hood) the young heroes will begin the fight against Mercy and her dark forces. The mission is to defeat her and release the veteran heroes from this empty void.

But this is only the story initiates..........there is much more to come.

Approved Characters

Name: Spot

Vigilante (Superhero) Name: Junak (pronounced "yoo-nawk"), Croatian for "hero." Some people, especially the media, have taken to calling him the Croatian Crusader, but he thinks that's dumb and refuses to use it himself.

Appearance: As his name might imply, Spot is, in fact, a dog. A Dalmatian, to be precise. He has a large spot around his left eye, and his ears are solid black, but most of his spots are on his body rather than his face. Having just recently broken out of the laboratory where he was being held, he is still pretty underweight and his ribs are visible through his skin. He feels uncomfortable in a collar (or any other clothes) so he goes without.

Age: 12 months, which for a Dalmatian equates to about 13 in human years.

Height: 2'1"

Superpowers/Skills: Humanlike intelligence (including full speech capability), flight, and firing beams of light energy. In addition, Spot still has the superhuman senses and speed gifted to him by his race. He isn't a half-bad stunt flyer either and knows a bit of hand-to-paw combat.

Weakness: Spot's abilities draw from the visible light around him, whether it's natural or artificial. If placed in total darkness, he becomes powerless.

Mentor: None.

Personality: Spot is out to prove that he can be just as strong and smart as any human. He tries to repress his canine instincts, though more often than not this leads to him being unnecessarily frustrated by his own "juvenile" actions. Many people say he can be a bit of a downer despite the good he's done; some attribute it to his constant thirst for the spotlight. He values his loved ones above everything else, however, and he will set aside everything else if he realizes that someone he cares about is being hurt. He also has a strong sense of family and is an excellent leader.

Bio: Spot was born in a laboratory, as part of a villainous series of secret experiments to create superpowered animals. His original purpose was the infiltration and takedown of heroic strongholds, so he was given the intelligence needed to plan his entrance, the power to destroy, and the aerial speed to make his escape. His spotlight-hogging tendencies even led the scientists to give him a partner, hoping it would help him learn to share before he was deployed for the first time: that partner was a Persian cat named Angel, who had similar powers -- no flight, but the same smarts and more destructive ability.

Throughout Spot's upbringing and training, he grew attached to Angel, perhaps even romantically so despite their incompatible species. Shortly before the pair's first real mission, Angel was having a hard time managing a few physical tricks that would be needed, and the scientists were very tough on her. Spot didn't take this well, of course, and before anyone knew it a fight had broken out between him and the ones he had been raised by. The fight escalated into real violence, equipment was broken, other animals were freed...to make a long story short, it ended in disaster for the scientists.

Spot and Angel fled the compound and lived on the streets for a time. Though their upbringing had been nefarious, they had to admit it was incredibly satisfying getting to show those white coats what for. Though Angel just wanted to start a new life somewhere peaceful, that single moment of retribution bloomed into the starts of a superhero career for Spot and he vowed to do better than what the scientists had planned for him.

Name:

Matthias Le Beau

Vigilante (Superhero) Name:

"The Black Rose"

Age:

17

Height:

6'0" (weighs 90lbs)

Superpowers/Skills:

• Enhanced Learning Ability/Intellect - Thanks to the side effects of a failed science experiment performed at MEXCORP, Matthias has miraculously gained the ability to learn things at incredible speeds. He can learn these things, and imitate them to near-perfection, by watching TV/Movies/Tutorial Videos, reading books/comics, and, of course, just practicing the technique over and over. He can learn most of these things in a few days, but he still has to practice in order to master whatever it is he's trying to learn. It could come as no surprise that Matthias is very intelligent for his age, given the vast amount of information he can process and recall.

• Increased Physical Durability - A result of his constant physical training in various fields (combat, stamina, agility, etc), Matthias has developed the ability to run faster, jump higher, be more light-footed for stealth missions, and is able to take quite the beating before he collapses from pain.

• Gadgets - What kind of dark, brooding vigilante hell-bent on avenging his parent(s) would Matthias be if he didn't have his own slew of awesome gadgets? Among his collection, are a few grappling hooks, sharpened metal Roses (used as throwing knives or boomerangs to sabotage equipment/knock out foes. Some have special abilities and can disable electric devices, output a sonic signal to confuse enemies, or even explode), smoke bombs/gas grenades (complete with a portable gas-mask for himself), and a long steel quarter staff which he uses during combat situations.

Weakness:

• His Humanity - Bullets, Knives, Mind Control, Having his power's sucked from his body, Explosions, and pretty much anything that would kill a normal human being.

Mentor:

None.

Personality:

Matthias is rather reserved, but he is also extremely charming. He's a true gentleman in every sense of the word and often shows respect for his fellow heroes. He can be rather cold and ruthless while angered and oftentimes acts in the most brutal fashion, opting to let the 'bad guys' suffer as his Mother did.

However, he does have a certain wit to him that often comes out when he's enjoying himself (an act that usually involves beating up some muggers), but Matthias does his best to stay serious in nearly every situation. That isn't to say he doesn't trust anyone; he's just extremely cautious about who he shows his 'lighter side' to.

Bio:

Matthias Le Beau was born in the streets of Aerial City. His father never knew he had a son (his mother never told him), and Rose, his mother, was very poor. She was beautiful, though, both inside and out. Despite not having much, she always did her best to make sure Matthias was well kept and raised into a fine young man. She worked multiple jobs to support her family, as did Matthias. Even as a little boy, he would go around and perform odd-jobs for minor pay. Sometimes, he would get food or supplies instead of money, but he was grateful to receive anything. By the time Matthias turned 8, his mother had grown very sick. It was a very rare heart-disease. The early stages were curable, but neither Matthias or Rose had the money for surgery, so they were left without any options. In an act of desperation to try and get the money for an operation, Matthias volunteered for a medical experiment being held at MEXCORP, a world-renowned business known for scientific discovery and advancement in multiple fields, including all kinds of technology.

The operation was relatively simple. They were going to test out a stimulation experiment that, if successful, could program the human brain the knowledge about nearly anything. The information was stored on a computer chip, which, thanks to the transferral device that had been created for the project, would convert its data into memories and thoughts, which would then be implanted into the brain much like how a program would be inserted into a hard drive. The experiment went along normally until a sudden lock-down of the underground laboratory forced the main power to shut off, making the electrical probes in his mind to go haywire before dying out. When the power came back on, the experiment was over and Matthias was given his pay, only to discover that they cheated him. Before he could confront the head scientist, Dr. Gordon Greene, the source of the lock-down was revealed to him: a massive, mutated lizard, dripping with blood. As it turned out, the experiment he had participated in had been part of something called Project X2, which was trying to create powerful mutant super-soldiers for the army.

Narrowly escaping death at the hands of the mutant, Matthias ran to his mother, terrified and traumatized by what he had just experienced. Before he could confide in her, Matthias and Rose were abducted by men adorned in black suits. When Matthias awoke, he realized that the men were employed by MEXCORP. Apparently they had realized he was the survivor of the mutant attack and, not wanting the public to know they were creating monsters, the CEO, Morrison Alexander, had demanded that they be interrogated. Morrison was a corrupt man, employed by the government (which government, he was not adverse to say), but he knew that if anyone blabbed about MEXCORP's secret operations or their involvement with such projects, then the company would be run into the ground.

When questioned by the men, Rose claimed she knew absolutely nothing about the attack while demanding to see Matthias Believing that she was lying, Morrison took to extreme measures and began to torture her, using powerful electrical shocks that slowly increased in power over time. Eventually, the shocks caused a horrific effect. Rose's disease had made her heart weak, but the electrical shocks kicked it into over-drive. When the machine reached 30 Volts, her heart exploded in her chest, killing her instantly. Matthias had seen everything they had done and watched the bloody death of his mother as her chest actually gave-way, shooting a blast of blood across the room and coating the wall of the interrogation room. Rather then interrogate Matthias, Morrison realized that the better alternative would just be to flat-out kill the boy. Shooting him three times in the chest, fatally wounding Matthias, Morrison and his men left the abandoned building, setting it on fire as to destroy the evidence. When the fire department arrived and quelled the flames, Matthias and his mother's corpse were both pulled from the wreckage.

Somehow, Matthias survived the bullet wounds and was rushed to the hospital just in time for the doctors to save his life. Rose's body was brought to the morgue and a funeral was planned almost immediately after. While he recovered in the hospital, Matthias discovered something incredible. Apparently, a side-effect of the experiment at MEXCORP had allowed him to learn things at an extremely fast rate by not only doing the acts, but also watching or reading about them. Just from watching the television in his hospital alone, Matthias learned how to fluently speak French, break dance, and sing opera. He was released from the hospital the day of his mother's funeral, which he attended. Once she was buried, Matthias vowed vengeance for her murder and declared that not only would Morrison Alexander pay for his crimes, but he would also bring down/expose MEXCORP's secret operations to the public.

Having nowhere left to go, but fearing that MEXCORP might find him again, Matthias tracked down his father, Edward Fitzpatrick. His mother had spoken of him before and how she knew he never wanted children, so alerting him of an illegitimate-son was not something she could do to harm his life. But apparently, Edward's wife, Rachel, couldn't have children, so the Fitzgerald's welcomed Matthias, into their home after they confirmed he was actually Edward's biological son. Believing he could trust his new family with the truth, Matthias tried to explain how MEXCORP was actual corrupt and creating biologically engineered monsters. When nobody would believe him, Matthias was "reminded" that his mother died in a house fire after a local gang broke into the house and shot Matthias. Obviously, MEXCORP had created a cover-story to hide their involvement, which made Matthias increasingly vengeful towards the company. His father believed that it was only the trauma that was talking, but did his best to console his son. While trying to determine the best way to expose the truth about MEXCORP, Matthias came across some old comic books from when his father was a child. Taking a sudden interest in the world of superheros rising up and fighting against the corrupt, Matthias decided that he would devise an alternate identity and attack MEXCORP as a vigilante superhero.

For the next 6 years, Matthias used his advanced learning-capacity to his advantage, learning from the comic books he read. He also practiced any fighting styles he could find, world languages and accents, and even things like sewing, medical practices, and the development of technology. By the time he was 14, Matthias had mastered nearly every combat style known to man, learned the most advanced medical procedures (and how to practice them on himself at home with very few supplies), and had created an alter-ego for himself. Taking his mother's name, he would use her very existence to haunt Morrison and his company. Knowing that once attacked, MEXCORP would be looking for the man responsible. So, using his appearance and a newly acquired knowledge for cosmetics and make-up, Matthias created himself a female face for the alias of "The Black Rose". Mysterious, alluring, and deadly, Matthias decided that this "femme fatale" would be his way of not only avenging his mother, but also to protect the innocent from MEXCORP's sinister and demented experiments.

Bio:
Adam was born at an orphanage, he was passed over alot until one day a Formal business man came and adopted him. Adam was full of excitement when he said good bye to the nuns and got into the car. As they drove away Adam was full of questions and just couldn't shut up. That is until they suddenly pulled over. Adam was surprised by the sudden movement. The driver, his new father, pulled over onto a remote road and got out of the car. He approached Adam's door. Something was off he didn't look like he wanted a hug or to move him to the front seat, he looked like he was going to do something serious. The door swung open and Adam was injected with a strange syringe that put him to sleep. As Adam was losing conciousness his new fathre picked up his suitcase and tossed it out on the side of the road, he pulled out a gas can and lit his belongings on fire.

Adam woke up in a weird laboratory, strapped to a bed, and with a weird device strapped to his mouth. Adam couldn't see anything but he could hear everyones voice. He heard someone said something about an enhancement drug. As Adam struggled a man walked up, he adjusted his headset and pulled out a vile of purple liquid. They inserted it into his tubes and stood back behind bullet proof glass.

As the liquid made its way through Adam's body he could hear loud beeping noises going on in the background, that's when it hit. A burning sensation Hit Adam, it was as if he was being set on fire. He screamed and flailed about but nothing helped. The beeping got lounder and louder, that's when Adam felt extremely tired, his eye lids got heavy and he suddenly felt the pain stop. The beeping turned into a constant beep, he heard yelling, then silence.

Adam woke up in the back of a car. He was just thrown in haphazardly. He overheard the two men in the front talking about another failed experiment, and it was such a waste. They pulled over, got out of the car, popped the trunk and pulled out some shovels and started digging.

Adam got up slowly, it was hard for him to breath, his body felt like it was being electrocuted. He reached for the door handle and without trying to ripped it off the door. The noise alerted the men. "What was that?" Adam panicked and hit the door with his feet blowing it off the hinges. The door hit the two men knocking them out. He got out of the car his legs were tingling like crazy he took a step and almost tripped. His foot was moving faster than he thought that's when he realised his power.

He found a cell phone and called the police. A detective came arrested the men, and took Adam back to the station. Adam told him everything when he finished the detective hugged him and 2 months later adopted him.

5 years later Adam had control of his abilities he learned slowly by training in his new father's home gym, in the woods by his house or in the city. One day he saw a girl being harassed by punks. Adam jumped in and took them all out without a sweat. The girl thanked him and ran home, but she wasn't the only one watching. Adam was approached by a female Hero Missapear. She was a stealth hero, she was impressed with his skill she decided to take him under her wing.

They fought with eachother for almost 2 years as hero and side kick. She taught him the ways of stealth, he really looked up to her almost like a big sister. One day Adam and Missapear were in a battle that would prove to much for them, costing Missappear her life and sending Adam to the hospital for a week.

Name: Ryan Gray

Vigilante Name: The Architect

Age: 16

Appearance:
technomancer-jpg.105804

tumblr_n17tzrevf51rhb3jxo5_1280-jpg.105803

Height: 6'1"

Superpowers/Skills: Cumulative Superhuman Intelligence, Information Processing, and Resourcefulness
Ryan is a supergenius, but there's a bit more to it than that. He didn't start out as intelligent as he was when his powers manifested. Unlike others with Superhuman Intelligence, Ryan grows exponentially smarter every day, due to the specifics of his powers origin. After about two years with his power, he's already the sixth smartest person on the planet earth, and he's projected to reach the number one spot by the time he's 23. His brain thinks and functions at roughly 34 times the speed of that of the average being, allowing him to form equations and answers far faster than a normal person. Additionally, he doesn't specialize in any specific field of super-science, unlike many with higher intellects. He mainly uses robotic and cybernetic devices simply because it's easier for him to obtain the necessary resources for them than it is for biological creations.

As far as his combat abilities go, Ryan has a series of weapons tucked into his cybernetic arm, coming in the form of three distinct modes that the arm can be in at any one time, Slice, Blast, and Grapple respectively. The Slice mode is a Vibrational Blade that can be set between three distinct functions: Human, Inanimate, and Destruct, the last of which is covered below. The Human setting turns the blade's vibrational frequency into something that is incredibly painful, but non-lethal. As it directly applies vibrations directly to the target's nervous system, it circumvents some forms of superhuman durability. Though it is far less effective against opponents who have non-human nervous systems, and is no more effective than a large metal stick against those with totally alien biology. The inanimate setting is for use against constructs, robots, or inanimate objects, and causes the blade to vibrate at a frequency that allows it to cut through most anything, in a fashion akin to a lightsaber. With the Blast mode comes a Thermal Cannon that, despite it's name, does not actually alter the temperature of anything. Instead, it fires a line of specialized gas that when hit with an electrical current, either rapidly cools to absolute zero, or violently heats itself into white-hot plasma, depending on the setting. Because of the method by which it fires, the Thermal Cannon's freezing and heating effects come at a .0957 second delay from the projection of the gas, which in itself moves at around 300 feet per second. Like his sword, the Thermal Cannon also features a Destruct Mode, to be covered below. Lastly, comes the Grapple, mode. In Grapple, his arm extends at the wrist, with his hand at the end attached by a 120 foot steel cable. His individual fingers can also extend, granting an extra 60 feet of reach. The primary use for the Grapple mode is to swing around from point to point, though it is occasionally used to grab and reel in enemies, or bind defeated foes. Of course, with a foe bound up in his grapple, he can't swing anywhere.

He also carries a small arsenal of throwable weapons, consisting of knock-out darts and smoke grenades, though this can and often does change from mission to mission, depending on Ryan's funds and what is required.

Lastly comes Ryan's last resort, the Destruct Mode. When the weapon is in either Slice or Blast mode, Ryan can activate this mode via a verbal authentication code, which causes the arm to self-destruct in an enormous explosion. Roughly equaling the power of a modern thermonuclear bomb, this is by far Ryan's most destructive weapon. However, due to the requirement of verbal authentication, if Ryan were to activate it, he'd be mere inches away from the blast's epicenter, which would kill him instantly, no questions asked.

Weakness: Ryan's actual intelligence can be stripped from him via the same methods that counter or get rid of magic, however, unlike some spellcasters, anti-magic is only a temporary solution, as he will regain his intellect as soon as the immediate effect causing the magic-countering ends. Additionally, many of his devices are electronic in nature, and can be disabled by EMP attacks. He is also required to keep at least seven secrets, or he will lose his powers, along with any knowledge gained through them, permanently. Not only are these secrets crucial for maintaining his powers, they are also things that could be potentially dangerous, either for Ryan or for others if the wrong people discovered them. Additionally, while he's incredibly smart, he's still human. He's only so strong, so tough and so fast. While he can think and make decisions at incredible speeds, he's limited by his physical body's senses and movement abilities. He makes mistakes, and can only take so much punishment even when he's geared to the teeth with high-tech devices and armor, that is, if he's ever able to afford such things.

Ryan's biggest weakness is his wallet, as he's only been able to afford what gear he does have via a series of odd jobs and favors, and has had to all but forgo any and all non-ramen foods in order to be a hero. He does have a place of dwelling and laboratory in the sewers, which he's managed to maintain by siphoning off energy from the city's power grid, to run a patchwork yet effective generator, but he's basically homeless and starving.

Mentor: Nedral-than, demon-god of forbidden knowledge.

Additionally, many heroes and villains alike have been keeping an eye on him for some time, due to the potentially world-shaking nature of his powers. He's been given multiple offers by various groups to use his powers on their behalf, but he's turned them all down, wanting to go his own way and use his powers as he sees fit.

Personality: Ryan is a talkative, lighthearted guy, always slinging jokes and bad puns, regardless of the situation. His main flaw is that he doesn't really ever seem to shut up, regardless of how bleak the situation gets for him or others. That, and his tongue, which would make a sailor blush. He's been trying to cut down on the cursing since becoming a hero, but it isn't going well. He's got that sort of rock-star confidence about him that makes it seem like he always knows what he's doing. Most people compare him to Dante, from the Devil May Cry games. The good ones, not the shitty reboot.

Bio: Ryan lived the first 14 years of his life as a nerdy, but altogether rather boring individual, without much in the way of noteworthy achievements. At least, that's what he tells people.

In reality, Ryan lived with an absent father and an insane, drug-addicted mother for most of his life. His mother was horribly abusive, and dangerously, violently high more often than not. Early in his life, she burned the upper left half of his face with a hot pan, ruining his left eye dealing serious damage to his face. His mother used him as a vent for her various drug-related frustrations, and barely allowed him to so much as go to school. At what would be his 14th birthday, his mother sent him out to obtain a fresh set of needles, Ryan was kidnapped by a couple of cultists, who mistook his frying-pan burn scar for the chosen symbol of some sort of dark god. The cult, known as the Bringers of the Blissful Dark, had impressive mystical resources and skills, though were not particularly intelligent, relying more on brute mystical power over tactical, intelligent spellcasting.

Trapped cold, naked, and blind in the dark, Ryan was prepared to be sacrificed to Eredaun Mole'an, the demonic lord of ignorant bliss. Unfortunately for the cultists, Ryan was not the chosen sacrifice, and Eredaun Mole'an was not summoned. Instead, Ryan was connected to a rival god, Nedral-than, god of knowledge and the forbidden. Unlike many, he survived the connection, and wound up becoming the god's vessel on this plane. This granted Ryan incredible knowledge about all sorts of things, technology, biology, physics, mathematics, even magic, nothing escapes his grasp. Although, when it comes to magic, his experience being stuck in a dark, freezing cold cell for multiple days at the hands of purposefully ignorant cultists has resulted in Ryan not being particularly comfortable with the stuff. While he may eventually come to move on and recover from this, it won't be any time soon. Until then, he's chosen to stick to the mortal sciences for his crimefighting career. After being chosen by the otherworldly being, he used his new abilities to engineer his escape. However, in doing battle with the lead cultist, a woman calling herself Sister Silent, Ryan wound up with one of his arms being reduced to a mere skeleton of it's former self: literally. His right arm was almost completely destroyed, left with only blackened bones held together by the nature of Sister Silent's spell. The battle between the two was a bloody battle between Ryan's smart, tactical but weaker casting, and Sister Silent's devastatingly straightforward, yet ignorantly used and poorly applied spells he did come out on top, permanently scarred, and refusing to ever again use magic.

Since then, he's replaced his ruined arm and eye with cybernetic counterparts and became a quite successful hero, having taken down the vast majority of Eredaun Mole'an's cult, and made a large dent in the Irish Mafia. Unfortunately, Sister Silence managed to escape, and is likely to have begun re-creating the Bringers of the Blissful Dark. He's got a small crew of his own villains, though few are superhuman, as Ryan tries to avoid fights he isn't sure he can win. He does however, have a few superpowered foes, only three of these are anything notable: the above-mentioned Sister Silent, a mafia boss calling himself Gunsmoke, and a brutish monster calling itself Slaughterhouse.

The source of Ryan's powers, Nedral-than itself, is rather neutral as to it's mission. Unlike most demons that seek to devour the world and/or plunge it into eternal darkness, Nedral-than hungers for one thing: knowledge. This makes Nedral-than, while dramatic and rather self-righteous, comparatively chill. As such, Ryan's only requirements to keep his powers are as follows: to tell the demon lord one new thing about the way he or another perceives modern world each week, (If he does not deliver, then his intelligence loses it's exponentially increasing property until he delivers on new information.) and he is required to keep at least seven secrets, lest he lose any and all of his abilities. As Nedral-than's vessel in the mortal plane, Ryan is beholden to him to a certain extent, being required to follow any direct orders given to him by Nedral-than, but is ultimately rather autonomous.

mentors

Eʟᴅᴇʀ Rᴇɢɪɴᴀʟᴅᴏ Yᴀᴊᴀ Mᴀɢɪ
Reginaldo is a mastered monk of cosmic magika and many other space-related themes of magic. He comes from the Magi tribe that live in the snowy mountains and are often surrounded by stars in the sky. Their culture is all about astrology and astronomy because they praise the sun and the moon. Veatricia trained with him forever and is her most respected mentor just for showing her path and leading her to other teachers of the magic she's learned today. Veatricia does not know this is her grandfather.

Rᴏʙᴇʀᴛᴏ Yᴇssᴀ Mᴀɢɪ
Roberto is the son of Reginaldo, from a time where Reginaldo didn't know his place in the tribe. He's also rather fluent in cosmic magic and was more physical than magical with his teachings. He's rather stern, but respects Veatricia's personality and is pleased with her as a student. He's expanded her offense in stellar magic greatly.

Hᴜ Mɪɴ Lᴇᴇ
Hu Min Lee is an accomplice of Roberto, a master of alchemy and energy. He taught her much more of defense magic and increased her knowledge of magic passives in general. He's a strange fellow, but without him, Veatricia would have no defense skills or knowledge of mana control or other forms of energy transplanting. Hu Min is very doting of Veatricia, they get along rather well.

Zᴀsʜᴀ Hᴀɴᴀ Cʀᴏsᴇ
Zasha Crose is also Roberto's friend, who taught Veatricia in controlling her telekinesis. Zasha is skilled in photon control and force manipulation, she taught her through roughly in telekinesis. She also taught her a bunch of womanly tips in seduction, Veatricia adores her much more personally because they are both female and they both have blue-green hair. They're like sisters.

personality Veatricia is a very earnest, kindhearted girl with a big heart. She often has hints of naivete to her, but she's easy to be around and to get along with. She's rather eager and ready to be hardworking, but besides that she loves laying around and being lazy. She has her superhero moments, of course, but besides that she's much more than normal. Veatricia is much more soft spoken and to herself than others for one. It's just the way she is. She doesn't easily get flustered and red faced at things, and then she squeals and squirms. She's often teased by more outgoing friends. She's very intelligent and focused, and bonds with other over their minds. She often gets frightened easily and is rather innocent to some subjects. Veatricia is a worry wart, and often becomes motherly and swings in to save others or comfort others despite not being able to hold herself up as well by herself. Despite that she's nonjudgemental and is rather friendly, loves to help and grow in character.

bio Veatricia used to aspire to be a superhero because a weird mixture of events.
Her father was a medical scientist and her mother was a kindergarden teacher and part time magician. Her mother was the type of magician where she pulled rabbits out of a hat. She was more than good at what she did. Veatricia wanted to save people like her dad, but wanted to be a cool magician and manipulate magic just as her mother did. That meant she had to become a super hero to do both at the same time. At a young age, Veatricia didn't understand that a superhero didn't need super powers to be called a superhero, so she actually searched for a way to get powers.

She tried testing out multiple things, drinking hot sauce and waving around her hands to see if fire would come out her hands. Playing around in the bathtub to see if she could move water with her mind, jumping from the couch to see if she would fly... Nothing worked. She just said forget it. She'd never become a superhero, she'd rather go and hang out with her Grandpa.

Her grandfather was very big into superheros and into space. Whenever Vea went to stay by him, he'd always take her out in his country side home and they'd stay under the stars. Vea adored her grandfather, because he always used to teach her about comic book heros and astronomy. She took a great liking to them.

One day, after Vea went to bed at her grandfather's house, she heard a strange twinkling noise. Going down to the basement where she heard it ringing out, she peeked through the slightly open door. The basement looked alot more different than it used to be, it was like a laboratory. Her grandfather had a white coat on, his back turned to her as he watched a large pot of something glittering with light stirred with a huge, factory looking turn table. All over, there were prints about the cosmos, space, stars, galaxies, these strange circles. What was he making...?

Just as she questioned that, Grandfather reached out, his skin glowing blue as little stars fell from his hand into the mixture. Veatricia was so amazed. How was he able to do that? Was he a superhero all along?Suddenly, the gears stopped and all the noise diminished. Her grandfather seemed disgruntled, grumbling something about 'another power-outage' and 'sick of this old house'. Veatricia quickly stepped back and hid under the stairs next to old bicycles and other forgotten belongings crushed into the small space next to the wall. Her grandfather walked out the basement door and up the stairs, and Vea couldn't help but to go inside as he left the heavy door open.

The basement was dark besides the glittering mixture in the huge white bowl. The sparkles were glistening off the cieling, white smoke wafting from it eerily. Veatricia went towards it and peaked over... It looked like a galaxy, a sky packed to the brim of planets and stars and comets. Veatricia was infatuated immediately. She reached out to touch it, slowly, and just as the tip of her finger touched the contents of the bowl... It started travelling up her hand stickily. Veatricia screamed as it went up and up, the bowl contents emptying as it covered her without mercy, going up her arm and down her body, up her back and onto her toes. It flooded her, cold and ringing with something unknown. Her eyes glowed blue as she gasped out, soon enough the mixture overtook her eyes and blocked everything out. Everything suddenly became black as she fainted.

She woke up in the hospital, her mother and father worried to death and her grandfather no where around. Veatricia was told that she had acccidentally sleep walked into the brook and almost drowned. Somehow an ambulance was disaptched, but her grandfather had disappeared and couldn't be found. Veatricia was devastated.

While Vea could not explicitly remember what happened in that laboratory, she was plagued with strange but beautiful dreams. She wrote about them in a diary, how she met a tribe in the mountains who worshipped the sun and could create stars to give to the sky. She wrote about a man named Reginaldo who told her that she had a destiny, an ability sleeping inside of her that would wake up one day soon. She played with Reginaldo's son, Roberto, who was older than her and serious for his age. She grew with him, and they watched the old man grow older and wiser.

Veatricia one day had a school trip of hiking in biology. They were to go and study the plant life around mountains. Veatricia was fine until she noticed ethereal glitter in a path. She asked if her friends could see it but they could not. Vea felt strange, and impulsively started to hike up the mountain while no one was watching. She however, was weak and couldn't make it to the top to follow the sparkling material leading her up. There, a man walked up to her and helped her. By one look however, Veatricia recognized it was Roberto. From there, Roberto told her that his father was waiting for you to be old enough to come back and begin your journey. She was too weakened to come and start training, so she needed to be escorted by him up the mountain next time. It was decided that she would come back tomorrow to begin. Roberto helped her down the mountain and disappeared quickly behind her as her class spotted her. Veatricia was scolded and given a detention for wandering off, but in the scale of events happening, she couldn't care less. All she knew was that she was going to be a hero.

The next day, after school, she went to the mountains again and met Roberto. From there, they went up the mountain, where her path began.

Name: Zeke Barns
Vigilante (Superhero) Name: Zero
Age: 17
Height: 6 ft
Superpowers/Skills: He posses the ability to manipulate electricity, fire, and ice on a rather basic level. He can shoot it from his hands and use the lightning as a slightly protective barrier. He is also rather proficient in martial arts, lockpicking, basic hacking, and light firearms.

Weakness: In order to use his powers he must inject himself with a mutagen. He goes through the mutagen every 15 minutes in battle. The mutagen is a formula that his mentor taught him to create in a lab. The mutagen acts like a drug in the sense that once he comes down from the high of using his powers, zeke will become sick, nauseous, and fatigued.

Mentor: Patrick Barnes- a well known geneticist who has taken an interest in superheroes and in developing isotopes that could make someone a superhuman. Patrick one day was testing blood samples on a new set of mutagens that had been in development. He was surprised that the one sample from his son had shown a reaction to all the mutagens.

Personality: Zeke is kinda an easy going kind of guy. He loves the idea of being a super hero. For the majority of his life he was looked at as kinda a slacker and underachieving delinquent. The jersey at school often called him a zero.

Bio: Zeke grew up with his parents being geneticists working for the government. He didn't really get to see them a lot growing up. He didn't come from a bad home. He just didn't get a lot of attention growing up.

As he got older he began to act out a little and get into trouble. He would steal, smoke pot, and drink with his friends. One day he was called into his dad's office because he had something to tell zeke. He told zeke a lot of science that at the time he didn't understand. His father injected him with something odd and zeke felt strange. It wasn't till Zekes dad threw a baseballat him that something happened. Zeke with an outstretched hand blasted the baseball with a fire blast that destroyed it.

Zeke couldn't believe it and was told he would need to keep injecting himself with the odd concoctions if he wanted to have powers. Zeke thought it would be cool so he became his father's secret project.

Over time zeke would get familiar with his newfound temporary powers. He thought it was all for goofing off until one day when his father went to work that his lab got attacked by some ecoterrorists and he died in a lab explosion.

In his father's will he was given a flash drive that showed how to make the mutagens in his father's private lab and contacts to get the materials. In the flash drive it showed that his father wanted him to use the powers he was given to become a hero. Zeke wanted to honor his father's last request and so Zero was born.

Name: Diego Ortega

Vigilante (Superhero) Name: Burner

Age: 17

Height: 5'10

Superpowers/Skills:
Pyrokinesis, the ability to create and control fire around. His abilities extend to the fire around him as well. Though it is unclear as to whether or not his fire is chemical or magical. His abilities are controlled but set free he could wind up burning himself out and causing serious damage in a block radius. His powers also grant him an immunity to fire, and most burns.

Weakness: His fire still abides by the rules of science. Water can extinguish it unless it's hot enough. It cannot be produced without oxygen to burn.

Mentor:
Pyra, a heroine with the ability to coat her body in fire and fly.

Personality: Diego is a stand offish young man. He's not a mean guy but he can be a if he feels he's been betrayed or wronged. He is flirty with women and often likes to view himself as a ladies man. Diego prefers to be with people but if he knows nobody then he'd rather be on his own. He's not someone who's easily backed down but will shrug off conflict if it makes things easier.

Bio: Born in the slums Aerial City his mother played a crucial part in his upbringing. However he very often chooses to neglect her in stories of his childhood. At the age of 10 his mother promised she would return one night after she left. It was several days before he called his grandmother, (his fathers mother) who came to pick him up. He moved into her home on the slightly nicer side of town, still there were some complications. There were many local bullies and Diego was not the best at making nice. One boy, Trevor was particularly nasty towards Diego. They were in middle school when things got really bad. Trevor liked to wait for someone to come around a corner at school and push them down hard. Diego was used to it but one day Trevor laid into him heavily. He hit his head on the linoleum and his arms shot out wide, bursts of flame shot from them. Trevor's sleeves caught on fire and the boy ran away. When Diego was sent to the office it was assumed he'd been carrying a lighter and that Trevor had been the target of his aggression. Diego's expulsion was near immediate. His grandmother allowed him to be home schooled but eventually Diego took to entertaining himself in his down time.

He experimented with his powers, and eventually gained fair control of them. However they were not easily stopped if they burned too hot. So eventually he learned to form low heat but high density fireballs, capable of knocking things over but not burning them entirely. However when he was 15 he accidentally lobbed one over the side of his grandmother's apartment roof and it hit street level. Homeland security showed up after local PD thought a bomb had gone off, the hero Pyra had been in the area and investigated. She flew high above and saw him watching the scene from his rooftop. She flew down to question him about what he'd seen and spotted the many singed cups, melted bottles and blown up soda cans. When she pressed him for information he was more than happy to oblige to a pretty lady with similar powers. He showed her his ability to produce his fire, and what he could do. She called off Homeland Security through some cunning misdirection and had a long conversation with his grandmother. It was decided that Pyra would teach him to control his abilities, and that he'd work alongside her as her sidekick. Though it hasnt been easy for Pyra, as Diego continued to train he got more and more distant from her. Eventually he'd sneak out on his own and prevent crime on his own streets. She made him a costume to show her good faith in him and gave him the moniker Burner.

But it did little, as he never wore it and eventually the pair had a falling out. Though she'd never admit it, she kept tabs on him often.

He stands at average height with wide shoulders and a dangerous cut to his jaw. Though his eyes would convey anger he is often in a clam state.

Name: Isabella Collins

Vigilante Name: The Ghoul

Age: 17

Height: 5 foot 4 inches

Superpowers/Skills: She has a select skill of magical based abilities that originate from an onyx amulet that has now been infused into her chest. He can create a dark aura that can protect him. He can create a magical blast from his hands. She can create minor illusions in the minds of those close by, but in order to do so she must project the illusion toward the target and must stay consintrated on the illusion with no outside interruption. She can spawn basic melee weapons, and fly for a few miles. She has been trying to push the boundaries of her powers at times. The voice tells her that if she can harness her full potential that he could bend others to his will and become a god.

Weakness: It takes a lot of energy from him to preform any of these things for a long period of time. If he wants to have a boost of energy he must give a sacrifice of his own blood by slitting her wrists. For ten minutes she is given power that is almost too much for her body, but the process can possibly killed her. She has only done it once. She wears the bandages still.

The amulet projects a voice and personality into her head that she often argues with. This voice often tries to tempt her with ideas of more evil and brutish acts and often requests to take control of her body. The voice becomes more powerful as she uses his powers.

Mentor: The voice from the amulet is a mentor to her in a way. It has taught her how to use the amulet to an extent and does care about Isabella, but only because if Isabella dies before the amulet can be transfered to a new host then it does with him.

Personality: Isabella is a hard person to be around at times. She tends to not talk alot, but she doesn't want to be considered one of those broody loner heroes. The idea to her is melodramatic and highly overrated. She is mostly afraid of what she may do if she let's her guard down. She has come to hate her powers and herself at times. Thoughts of being worthless and suicide have entered her head. She is known to drink and take drugs in her alone time.

Bio:
Isabella used to love reading the exploits of the great superheroes and heroines that the news and comics would depict when she was a little girl. She grew up with her sister and her mother who was a single parent. She loved her family very much. They didn't live a glamorous life, but it was enough for Isabella. Her father had left an amulet to her that he said was given to him by his grandfather who found it on a trip to egypt.

When Isabella was fourteen she had been watching her sister one night when their mother was working late, but never returned. She would be given a call the next morning saying that her body was found on the street after being raped and murdered. Isabella was heartbroken. When it came time to see the body she heard a voice in her head. "I can show you who did it. Just put your hand on her head."

Isabella looked around and wondered who was speaking if nobody was there. She decided to follow the voices direction and put her hand on her mother's head. In that instance she had seen the last moments of her mother's life and she saw the attackers and what they did to her. She felt the pain and sorrow her mother felt. This enraged the teen and she wanted to make the men pay. The voice would chuckle at these thoughts and ask her how she would stop them.

Isabella had no idea. The voice revealed that it came from the amulet around her neck and offered her the power to take her revenge only if she was willing to accept it. Isabella was more than happy to at the time. She would feel a searing pain as she felt the amulet infuse into her body with only a little of the onyx stone poking out of her skin.

With the amulets help she was able to find the attacker. At first they thought she was just a normal girl. The entire experience was a blur for Isabella until it was over. She saw that all the men were dead in front her. Their bodies were ruined and mangled almost beyond recognition. Isabella almost threw up and was frantic. The voice chuckled and asked isn't this what she wanted. To make those men pay. To make them suffer. It was then she realized that in those moments she had given control to the amulet. She didn't want to be apart of this anymore but was told there was no going back now. Isabella was afraid of being caught so she decided to run away. Her sister is now with an adopted family who Isabella keeps tabs on from time to time. Isabella feels that if she is bound to this evil thing that she could perhaps do some good with it.

Daryl Henderson

aka

"The Night Rider"

Seventeen Years of Age//Five Foot Eight Inches

Skills
*Marksmanship: involves knowledge and skill on the use of various firearms. His preference is his technologically enhanced six shooter twin revolvers. They fire energy bullets rather than conventional copper rounds. The weapons generate said energy to keep the cylinders full at all times - providing him with infinite ammunition. With this knowledge, Daryl tends to have a knack for unloading bullets without precision which always ends with one lucky shot.

*Precision: Despite his desire to fire as many rounds as possible for his enjoyment, Daryl is very precise when need be. He is a good shot and tends to almost always hit his marker.

*Riding: Daryl is a talented motorcycle rider and mechanic. He knows the in and out of his motorcycle named "Tara" and can sometimes be seen talking to the beautiful Harley Davidson.

*Stamina and Endurance: involved the ability to withstand physically stressful situations that attack the cardiorespiratory system. So basically, he is able to keep running for a long time.

Weakness
*Humanity: He does not posses any superpowers nor magic that can protect him from people, the environment and himself. Daryl could easily be overpowered by any stronger foe, but he uses his will and brains in attempt to prevent such fate.

Mentor:
crush_by_gaston25-d773t8m.jpg

*More of an inspiration to become a hero, Daryl once witnessed Crush fight side by side with other heroes to defend Aerial City. The sight encouraged Daryl to become The Night Rider and fight crime and take down villains like an old bounty hunter. He tasked himself to let the police do most of the paperwork after he managed to drop off said enemies on the doorsteps of the ACPD (Aerial City Police Department) - it was his way of keeping it fun, he is no dark knight.

Personality
*Full of talkative commotion, Night Rider tends to speak his mind at all times - even if people don't understand what he is saying. Because he has a very deep western accent, his saying and lingo tend to lose people - both friends and enemies. He is also kind to those he loves and cherishes, doing everything in his power to protect them from evil. Enjoying current country music, one can also find Night Rider singing to himself and at times to his bike and others if he's in the mood for such shenanigans. Aerial City gave him the name Night Rider, if it had been up to him, he'd of gone by "Red Rag Cowboy Man" or something along those lines.

Short Biography
*Living life at a small trailer park near some farms, Daryl spent a lot of time around cattle, chickens and horses - among other farm animals. The kid devoted a lot of his youth working to help pay property tax. He was raised by a single mother of five so kids seemed to always be independent as mother never had enough time to deal with all of them. Her attempts were heroic though as she never got mad at them nor blamed them for having Harold (father) leave them. The woman was always baring a smile, even if it was fake - nobody could ever tell. Daryl loved her to death and still currently does as he roams the street as Night Rider.

The reason he fights crime is due to the huge influence of family life and watching Heroes such as Crush on television saving the city on a daily basis. Knowing his life had so much more to give, he eventually gathered enough money to buy himself a motorcycle. Initially he rode around with a red bandanna around his face thinking it was going to be easy. It wasn't until he was almost killed by a group of thugs that he found out how truly difficult the career was. He wanted to give up on the life, but he couldn't muster giving up. He was a fighter and true spirit like his mother. Such character gave him the push to keep trying and to fight the hard battle.

How'd he get the weapons?

As his popularity rose, Night Rider was given the honor to fight aside some other young heroes to stop a weapons manufacturer from smuggling into the city. By stopping a convoy of military grade weapons, Daryl came across the twin revolvers - a very coincidental event (or was it). Anyhow, he evidently took them without consent from his group and completely changed his original aspect to heroism. He redid his costume and gave it a more feels-like-home look, digging back to his ancestry and using it as inspiration for what his current look is.

Extra
*He currently does not have a motorcycle license

Name: Ariyah Porter

Vigilante (Superhero) Name: Siren

Age: 16

Height: 5'4" or 64"

Superpowers: The nickname Siren serves Ariyah justice, seeing as how her abilities would have people thinking that she came right out of a greek mythology story. She possesses the ability of limited aquatic respiration, which allows her to remain underwater for an extended amount of time before she must come up for air again. In conjunction with aquatic respiration, Ariyah can manipulate sound waves. The manipulation is to an extent; Ariyah can only manipulate her own by either making herself louder or not heard at all. She specializes in 'Siren Song' which is where her nickname arises from. Ariyah is able to emit an almost melodic sound when she speaks (or sings if she chooses to) that could lure those towards her. Her final power is water manipulation where she has the capability of using water as a weapon, but it's an ability she has yet to master.

Skills:
Ariyah is a proficient swimmer and runner. Her stamina is a bit above the normalcy due to her years spent swimming on her own. That's about it though. Ariyah has no experience in self defense, although she could probably fend for herself in water.

Weakness:
-Her aquatic respiration will only be 'held' for a certain amount of time, and it also depends on the depth that she's in. The deeper she goes, the less oxygen she is able to get out of the water.

-Although Ariyah is a sound manipulator, loud noises do hurt her. She can only manipulate the noises that she makes but can not control external forces; and the louder the noise is, the more it causes her to be in pain.
-When it comes to her 'specialization' in Siren Song, Ariyah is only able to lure/hypnotize only the weak minded and the weak willed. She is still learning how to control this ability, seeing as it is still somewhat involuntarily done.

Personality:
Ariyah is a very strong willed young woman who tends to voice her opinion when she thinks is necessary, but she knows when to choose her battles. She does come across as timid at first, seeing as how she likes to observes before speaking to strangers but once she is befriended, it's easy to get along with her.

Bio:
Ariyah never really expected to become anything in life. In her mind, she believed that she would grow up without telling anyone of what she was capable of and settle down as an adult, somewhere far away. The young woman wanted nothing to do with anything that had to deal with violence or the supernatural.

Unknowingly being the product of a human and an Atlantean being, she lived with only her mother in a small, too bedroom apartment near the school she went to. Her mother, being a lawyer, was able to care for the two of them and still have sufficient money for them to go out and do leisurely activities but Ariyah chose to only go to a lake and swim.

However much the young woman tried to be a loner, Ariyah had found herself saving people from drowning, along with talking people out of doing wrong. Along with the good, there came the bad. Not being able to control the majority of her abilities, Ariyah decided to stay and reach out to others that could do what humans couldn't.

Appearance:
Standing at 5'4" and weighing around 137, Ariyah is not as slim as others of her height category. She has prominent curves that are only accentuated by the fitting clothing that she wears so that nothing gets in her way when and if she's being chased. Her hair is constantly dyed silver, because to her, it is the only way she can truly express herself. She has bright blue eyes that some could say match the waters of crystal clear beaches.

Name:
Quinton Chester Moreau
Vigilante (Superhero) Name:
Fade
Age: (Nothing over 17)
15 years old
Height:
5'7
Superpowers/Skills:
Teleportation: Quinton can shift to different locations for easy travels and for combat, his ability makes him fade to a black aftermath smoke and disappear to another location. His ability makes him teleport around city limits, since his abilities haven't gotten to greater limits. He is working on remote teleportation, where he can teleport different items to places he thinks about.
Adoptive muscle memory: Quin's memory adapts to whatever he sees, and whenever he watches something on television, or sees something in real life, he can adapt it to his physical and mental being. Examples of these are seeing a ufc fight, and adapting the fighting skills, or seeing somebody speak another language and copying the words of the language in your dialogue and understand the words.

Weakness:
Teleportation: Quin cannot teleport past a certain distance, close to a regular city length at a time, it also tires him out if he does close to that limit or at or higher then the limit. His remote teleportation can only be used for smaller items, since he recently acquired the skill, and no living organisms can be remote teleported

Adoptive Muscle Memory: His ability can only work on realistic items, like seeing somebody fight on television, but not something like superman punching somebody into a building. Also he cannot adapt superpowers because they are way too hard to adapt, which needs a mastery of the ability to even try to adapt a power.

Mentor:
Former: Pitch black/Father
Now: Vincent Mathers/Uncle
Personality:
Quin best trait is his determination, When Quin strives for something he wants to do or believes in, he won't rest until he reaches whatever he strives for, getting this trait from his father. He also is loyal towards others and when he starts to get to know others, his loyalty becomes stronger. Quin also has an anger issue, so when something happens that he doesn't like, he will fight the argument. Quin is confident in himself, but doesn't like talking about his past, which he is ashamed of. Quin is clumsy and loves to have fun, whenever he has the chance, he will have fun with his friends.
Bio:
Quin was born from his mother and father, his father having abilities and his mother wasn't. His fathers power was darkness manipulation, the ability to control darkness and shadows, it was difficult for him early on to control it and to make sure it doesn't take his mind and body over, but as he grew he learned to control it better. He started to help out others and learned to use the ability for good, become a super hero. He later on met his soon to be wife and they got married.

As Quin grew up, he looked up to his father, and so did his mother. When he was six, they learned that he also had abilities, his father taught him a bit about combat, but couldn't teach him much since his teleporting power was much different from his fathers abilities. His father chose the name pitch black, and was a well known hero, which a lot of people around the world looked up to. But after a huge threat arrived, having the power of super strength and a healing factor, everything changed.

He fought the man of unknown name, and used a lot of his power to fight him, but it wasn't enough, the man wouldn't hit the ground. Pitch black knew he couldn't beat him with his abilities, so in order to make sure this creature doesn't destroy the city, he decided to use his absolute power to destroy him, after using the darkness, he disintegrated him. The following months were hard for pitch, as the darkness at times would make him lash out, it was starting to corrupt his mind. His mother noticed those behaviors and called him out on it, she started yelling at him to not let it consume him and to let go of his mind. After being annoyed and angered, he let out a beam of darkness causing her to hit the wall, killing her. Pitch was shocked and horrified of what he did, he ran away that night and never came back.

An eight year old Quin, watched through the door crack of what happened, and when he left through a window, Quin ran to her to help her, calling 911. The police and ambulances came to help her, but it was too late. Quin went to live with his uncle, who Quin's father was real close too. The government hid the news of what really happened that night, and had said that Pitch black and his mother were killed in their sleep, by a gunshot.

Quin wasn't happy that he had to live with his uncle, later having an anger problem and a mild PTSD. His uncle was protective of him and didn't want any seeing that he had powers, knowing the government would want to make him a hero to replace his father. Quin wanted to become a hero, he didn't want to become what his father became, but wanted to help those who would become victims of those with abilities. Two years later he learned about his other power, Adaptive Muscle memory and started to watch UFC fights and adapting there combat. His uncle Vince walked in on him punching Vince's sand bag, and asked him what he was doing, he told him that he wanted to become a hero.

Vince sat down with him and told him that he had abilities also, which were teleportation like Quin. He told him that he would train him if only he wouldn't be using it to become a superhero, and that the time would come to become one, he agreed and Vince trained him with his abilities. He learned a lot about teleporting and knew the standards of the abilities, it took a long time and by the time he was 14, he was ready to help. His uncle told him to be careful and to not screw with the powers, which he promised he wouldn't, but obviously disobeyed.

His uncle became a role model to him and was glad to have him in his life, but a lot changed when all the adults disappeared, so he swore to find out whoever did this and try to ban together with others who also had abilities.

So here's a weird question to kick things off: how do you feel about a superpowered talking dog?

Alright, I like superheroes, I'll do this.

Actually though, I've got a question. Is this set in an original superhero setting, or a prexisting one? If it's original, what's the pre-existing superhero establishment like? Is there a proper superhero organization with rules and accountability, like in Marvel or Worm, or is it more like DC, where heroes just sort of do whatever they feel like most of the time, and sometimes that means being a group, but they usually do their own thing.

He tends to keeps to himself he is a quiet person who you'd usually find in the library. He prefers animals and machines over the company of humans, still likes people nonetheless. Since he has no memory of the past he doesn't know how to express his emotions. He doesn't know how to react to jokes. When ever one is told the joke goes over his head. Over all he is a party pooper. Not that he wants to be that is.

Bio:
When he first awoke he didn't know who he was, where he was, or how he got there. The man he was greeted to told him he was his father he believed him. His father told him that he was supposed to carry on his father's legacy. When he learned of what his father's legacy was, he became angry, and broke out. He landed in the ocean as where he was. Was in the air. He was found by an engineer when he awoke the engineer told him that while he was out he made his circuits water proof, yet if he were to go into water he'd still sink. Deciding he wanted to help others he researched and learned what he could do with his body. Starting with helping out people with regular problems, then it went to fighting criminals, when he was offered a chance to do something bigger.

Ideally it'd be more DC like. There will the a "Justice League" type organization, but it is only for veteran superheroes and we'll see how that plays out later in the rp (if we make it that far *crosses fingers*). I wouldn't mind if you decided to have your character know other roleplayer's character, but ultimately our characters will have to team up to defeat Mercy and her goons. For now at least.

Alright!

Bear in mind, he's supposed to look feminine. His alter-ego is actually a girl.

**He also wears a black 'Musketeer Hat' without a feather**

Name:

Matthias Le Beau

Vigilante (Superhero) Name:

"The Black Rose"

Age:

17

Height:

6'0" (weighs 90lbs)

Superpowers/Skills:

Enhanced Learning Ability/Intellect - Thanks to the side effects of a failed science experiment performed at MEXCORP, Matthias has miraculously gained the ability to learn things at incredible speeds.

Increased Physical Durability - A result of his constant physical training in various fields (combat, stamina, agility, etc), Matthias has developed the ability to run faster, jump higher, be more light-footed for stealth missions, and is able to take quite the beating before he collapses from pain.

Gadgets - What kind of dark, brooding vigilante hell-bent on avenging his parent(s) would Matthias be if he didn't have his own slew of awesome gadgets? Among his collection, are a few grappling hooks, sharpened metal Roses (used as throwing knives or boomerangs to sabotage equipment/knock out foes. Some have special abilities and can disable electric devices, output a sonic signal to confuse enemies, or even explode), smoke bombs/gas grenades (complete with a portable gas-mask for himself), and a long steel quarter staff which he uses during combat situations.

Weakness:

His Humanity - Bullets, Knives, Mind Control, Having his power's sucked from his body, Explosions, and pretty much anything that would kill a normal human being.

Mentor:

Approved. It'll be cool to explore more of your character's background. Maybe we'll see those scientists again in the near future. I'll make an "Approved Character" tab under the rules and stuff and add Spot there.

Name:
Aiden Powell

Vigilante (Superhero) Name:
OBSIDIAN

Age:
16

Height:
5'11

Superpowers/Skills:
  • Skilled at picking locks
  • Combat specialist
  • Eidetic Memory
  • Increased stamina strength physical and magical
  • Dark force being has super strength (you could say on par with superboy)
  • Dormant magic capability (Darkforce manipulation)
    • Darkforce Manipulation: Darkforce is a kind of and is composed of pure negative energy. Aiden shadow is a kind of living mass of Darkforce energy that can separate from him and seems to have a will of its' own. The shadow can change from a solid to a vapor and can pass through solid objects. Aiden has limited control.
Weakness:

  • Does not have total control over darkforce and is afraid when using it
  • Physically he is still human, he is slightly enhanced (Like Captain America)
  • Dependent on tech suit (He knows how to fight without it but is afraid the darkforce will emerge)
  • Weak to items that harm those with magical capabilities
  • Resistant to physical and magical harm but not immune
  • Can only control darkforce being for 10-15 minutes, it can react on pure emotion making Aiden unpredictable

Mentor:

AZUR - A magical superhero capable of using positive magical energy he was teaching Aiden about magic and trying to help him control the negative energy. He felt that Aiden was tormented and until he found a form of peace this darkforce would control him rather then he control it. He was very stern when it came to training Aiden, and Aiden hated training with Azur but his magical power and control was great.

Wild Bullet - A alien superhero with super-strength, enhanced vision, speed and various powers. He was once dependent on his powers but lost a majority of his powers due to a demon sealing them away. He still had his advanced intellect and decided not to give up on being a hero and learned to fight. He differs from Azur as Azur wanted Aiden to learn control but he believed that Aiden's intelligence and natural physical talent was enough without relying on his magic. He was very social with Aiden which is why Aiden adopted his color-scheme into his costume.

Personality:
Aiden is reserved, he mainly only interacts with his mentors, he is not anti-social just stays to himself. He does not open up to others but he is always willing to help people. He has a big heart and is very determined when undertaking a task, he can be a little impulsive but only because he looks for every opportunity to learn.

Bio:
Aiden was a spoiled child with two loving parents, he wasn't rich but he was well off. He went to private school and showed a genius intellect, at the age of 14 he became a little rebellious he would leave home at late hours worrying his parents. The reason for this is because Aiden was bullied, that bullying made him run and hide at times. He would roam the city but one day he stumbled upon a ritual. One the rooftop of an abandoned building he saw druids summoning a dark energy, through the skylight. Unfortunately for him his footing was unstable and he fell and made contact with this dark energy, interrupting the ritual. The druids attempted to take him but the superhero known as White Bullet saved him along with the superhero Azur as the bullet had been tracking these druids and as they had a magical power source he had Azur assist him.

Aiden was returned to his parents, but he noticed that he was different he felt a connection to something else. He was also no longer weak as he used to be he could move better and was stronger even though physically he looked the same. He saw this as a blessing until he manifested the darkforce being, he had control over it for a short time but it soon rampaged and hurt people. Even in his sleep he was worried, and one day it manifested due to a nightmare he was having and destroyed anything in its sight and almost killed his parents.

Aiden ran away from home, and decided to live in seclusion until the bullet found him, and brought him in and had Azur look at him. Aiden told him what happened the day they saved him, and Azur looked into him and saw that the magical energy he came in contact with left him with a connection to the darkforce dimension. A realm of negative magic which was volatile and that it would react to Aidens subconsious, it enhanced Aidens physical capabilities to make him a vessel but due to their interruption he did not gain more magical power other then the darkforce being that he could manipulate. Azur thought it'd be best to mentor him, as did the bullet so the bullet informed his family and decided that he's house the boy and teach him and Azur will work on him to either harness or eradicate his connection with this dark magic.

Extra:
He is like a mix between blue beetle and raven.
He uses tech but doesn't use gadgets so don't want ya to think he's like robin, he uses tech like cyborg in a way to hack and gain information. Not like robin throwing batarangs or explosives.
His suit has thinks like night vision, infared vision and a electrical pulse since he uses hand to hand combat.
His mentor made the suit for him, he knows the basic maintenance of the suit

He's a inventor so he could make the gadgets that some heroes who rely on them use so think of him like Cisco in that sense so if anyone creates someone who uses gadgets already he could enhance them like cisco did for green arrow and black canary.

I have some trouble with your character. I know you put a lot of thought into him and I don't want you to think I'm trying to completely change what your character is supposed to be, but I believe he's too versatile. He has one too many abilities/powers under his belt, leaning him towards the overpowered category. To accept him, Id need you get rid of his "genius intellect" and technology aspect of the character, leaving him only with enhanced physical traits and the Darkforce Manipulation. OR you can remove the Darkforce Manipulation and leave him as a technology baring genius.

i can get rid of the genius intellect, but i like him having a high tech suit like blue beetle ... can i remove the inventor part and just have it like his mentor created the high tech suit for him would that be ok

On the subject of geniuses, I'm reserving one of those.

What If the shadow/dark energy manifests into a suit? That whay you can still get a beetle-like suit but leave the technology aspect for our WIP Cyborg up there.

--------------------------------------

I WANT EVERY CHARACTER TO SERVE A PURPOSE, THATS WHY I WANT VARIETY! **thats for everyone**

I was actually gonna make a cyborg but I was beaten to the punch, so I gotta think of sumthin else. CURSE YOU @Sasha Bliss !!!! Lol jk :p

Is that the Speed Force I see? Because I'm pretty sure that the GM stated no OP powers. I'm a huge Flash fan, and let me tell you buddy, the Speed force is basically the objectively most powerful thing in DC.
