What Akane saw was a human. At least the shape was the only thing it had in common with an average western human. As for the rest... a smooth silver-skin with purple patches where human joints would have been and a lack of a face. No, that wasn't quite right. Maybe it simply showed its back to her? But no way to know for sure unless checking the other side. All in all, however, it was certainly not as scary as the mouth-monster except the twitching...?
It was a hard phenomenon to describe. A gamer would easily compare it to something like a 30-fps-locked game suddenly running on 120 fps. But ultimately, the thing simply moved head and joints in small bursts of motion here and there. So hard to follow with the eye in fact that it left quickly fading mirages of where whatever part of its body had just been.
Nonetheless, Akane had set her mind on it. This time, she wouldn't run... right away anyway. She couldn't know where the front or back of the thing was, anyway, but if there was one thing she was sure about that clearly its weak-spot must have been the head! With sneakingly fast steps, Akane went closer.
A good smack, a low, distorted growl in response. Akane quickly turned around, a simple rush to the exit, and... out! It likely had cost all her courage to do what she had just done and, once again, the girl felt like running away. As fast she could, not even thinking twice upon checking the results of her courage!
The girl ran maybe 5, 10 meters, before suddenly, literally in the blink of an eye, a big yellow eye replaced most of her vision! Her body ran into it. Like into a concrete pillar, stumbling back in pain.

There it stood, once again. Right in front of her. The monster from just mere moments ago. This time, however, its smooth-silver-skin head had actually a big, big, eye taking most of the space. Clearly the front. It had its posture lowered, staring at Akane as the noise continued. The twitching continued. It continued and continued and continued and oh my god was it raising an arm towards her as well!?
What would Akane do? What could Akane do!?
@Ehb @Luma
A moment of heroism. A light in the darkness. A twist of fate.
If this had been a TV show like Politelight, everybody would have cheered for Sasara! The heroine transformed and took center stage! Except... she did not. A comedy relief? A plot twist? Unexpected nonetheless.
There was certainly not another miracle. Another button to push. Actual Magic to cast. Ultimately, Sasara used her weapon rather bluntly, and the poor staff was destroyed.
It was only thanks to Snowball's quick reaction that kept Sasara from death a second time. Making the monster taste all kinds of new things as it went 'Ablublublu' upon the Soda bubbling in its mouth. A strange taste for something alien like that indeed. It bought the two enough seconds that they quickly hid inside a book-store, a now very angry mouth-monster rushing after them!
Bang Bang Bang
The horror scenario quickly felt like a zombie flick as Snowball kept holding the door, the monster rapidly banging against it. As, very slowly, the wood started to crack. The hinges started to yield. Only a question of time until...
Bang Bang Bang
Another kind of bang. Gunshots. An unexplainable, but painful sound, after, and then silence. Until the door was tried to be opened once again, this time however via thehandle, and way more gentle.
Knock nock
"Hello? Are you alright?" A female, soft but concerned, voice now asked from the other side.
A trap in this nightmare scenario? Or a plot-driving savior in last second?
They had to decide.
