Humanity's last hope is a bunch of teenage Dragon Riders?!?

Think of a world where there are dragons.

Not just the ol' regular run-of-the-mill-actually-more-like-burn-your-mill-to-the-ground type of dragon, oh no. Think of dragons as a more...diverse species. Underwater dragons, Tree dragons, space dragons, small dragons used as pets, even large dragons that help us protect ourselves, dragons are something that we've co-existed with since the dawn of humanity. Our culture is even very dragon-friendly, with everything ranging from beauty contests to flying competitions to battling duels. There's even a special way that countries can settle arguments by having their best dragon-rider combo duel one another. Though the only way any of this can work is when the dragons have a special bond with their human "rider", since after all the dragons are the ones who choose who they're going to spend the rest of their lives with.

But now, over the past couple of centuries, thing's have been going wrong. Slowly, more and more dragons aren't choosing people to be with, and instead are roaming the wild more and more, whilst countries are raging war against one another, intent on finding out the true reason behind the dragons' disinterest in the human race.

Meanwhile, there have been reports of children going missing. They've always been in random areas of the world, but most of the stories are along the same premise. A child that's somewhere between 3-7 goes off to play in the woods/desert/beach, doesn't come back, etc. The funny thing is, nobody's really paid attention to these cases, what with the wars going on and whatnot, so the children never get found, and are presumed to be dead.

But what if these children weren't dead, but instead taken?

What if the dragons saw a certain something within that led them to believe that they were the hope of the future, and therefore were taken and raised with the dragon that chose them?

Deep in the rainforests of South America, there lies a cave. Dragons are abundant, as they are in any other part of the world, but what sets this place apart from the rest are the small paths hidden in the trees, just big enough for a person to walk on. These paths connect some small tree huts to a large cave in the nearby cliffs, and this is where our story begins. Humans have been in war for so long that even their children are born with some dark intention, something that all dragons despise and never want to partner with. So now, the great dragon Ryo has decided to send the last of the children found this past decade (meaning they are now teenagers) along with their dragons, to try and establish peace among the world.

Though normally anybody in their right mind would shoot teenagers walking with dragons, some precautions must be taken. Using the last bit of his magic (oh yeah, that's a thing here) Ryo blessed the dragons with the ability of a humanoid form, though characteristics of their dragon form would still be visible in hair color and eye color, not to mention their humanoid form is much weaker than their dragon form.

So, starting in South America, can the last of the 'Riders' along with their dragons save the world? Or perhaps the world is already beyond the point of saving now?

Dione's is slender with a feminine look to it. As far as her womanly assets go, the redhead is a endowed at a medium sized b-cup. She has a fair complexion though it often becomes tinted with a light rosy hue. Her cheeks are lightly dusted with freckles, which also happen to appear on her shoulders. Her eyes are a bit round and hazel colored- a trait she received from her mother. Dione's eyes can be described as expressive though there's a hint of exhaustion stirring within them. Her lips are slightly full and can often be spotted in a small grin from time to time.
Personality:
Dione can be described as friendly and outgoing, though she's far more tame than her brother is in that regard. She carries herself with the utmost confidence, hardly allowing anyone else to knock her down from her pedestal. This might be the reason why she doesn't allow nervousness or anything else to muddle with her emotions or thoughts. Although, this could explain why she's so assertive and honest about things. In fact, she doesn't mind informing others of her thoughts and her own opinions on certain subjects.

It's rare to catch Dione upset or even stressed about something, considering she prefers to keep things private and limited to a certain extent of individuals. For her it's burdensome to inform other people about her issues. She can't shake off the feeling that it's a bother for other people to hear about her problems. Therefore, Dione is constantly bottling up her own emotions in her efforts to keep things to herself. Nonetheless, she does have her moments of vulnerability where she ends up confessing and becoming more in tune with her emotions.

When it comes to intimacy and romance, she's the type to give it her all and not feel shameless about her bold actions. It explains why she shows no hesitance to engage in public displays of affection though she does when to limit herself in public. Despite her shamelessness, Dione can be rather cunning when it comes to romance- constantly creating a subtle distance between herself the other party involved. For her it's uncomfortable to be the one to fall for someone first and share everything about herself to them. She needs to know she can trust that individual fully before deciding to commit to them completely, both body and soul at that.

In regards to her day to day personality, Dione comes across as playful and rather impulsive in the presence of loved ones and friends. This explains why she's often seen with a smile on her glossed lips along with the mischievous twinkle in her eyes. She enjoys playing around with others though she can often be led astray and go along with the pace of others. Naturally, this isn't always good thing considering she's occasionally hanging out with the wrong crowd a majority of the wrong time. Along with that impulsiveness of her's, she's foolishly brave to the extent that she'll put herself in harm's way- especially if she's witnessing an injustice of some sorts.

A dragon can have up to 3 powers, one must be a breath-based one and another must be some sort of defense/support based one. The third is whatever you want, but of course has to be related to your dragon's element/skill set....

For example, let's say I made a basic plant dragon.
[spoili]My breath-based power would be a stream of cool water that can cause plantlife to grow at a rapid speed.
My defense/support would be healing via water-breath.
And the third...controlling plant life of any type.[/spoili]

After all, his immense desire to surpass his brother, Eton, and his father, Deimos's expectations, led him to try the very hardest to surpass any expectations thrown his way.

However he won't reveal anything unless it's crucial or it's harmful to the person involved. Instead of using this knowledge to his advantage, he prefers to keep a secret until he feels that it is necessary to speak up about the issue. If the situation were reversed, he wouldn't hesitate to confront the individual involve and inform them that some things are better left unsaid.

She comes off as disobedient and stubborn, making decisions then sticking to them almost permanently. It is very difficult to sway her, and even Situ Bi claims that it is somewhat difficult, following this by 'you must know that nothing is impossible'.
She has a sweet side and cares for others. Although, she uses her heart too much and her head too little.

History:
Yaya was an orphan who lived in the rural parts of China. She had to farm all by herself at the age of 6. However, one day, while chasing a rabbit who stole her crops, she got lost in some woods, only to be found by a black, tortoise-like creature who introduced himself as 'Situ Bi'. He decided to have a little chat with the girl and soon learned that she was an orphan, and thus thought that he would adopt her.
He brought her into his village, where his kind, the Xiang, 'dragons' that took the form of the four guardian symbols, lived. It was a nice utopia-like place filled with peaceful animalistic warriors.
At some point in her life, she outgrew her clothes and ditched them, being as bare as the rest of the Xiang.
Situ Bi taught her the ways of Gongfu when she reached 10. When she was 13... it was time.

She says that she is one of the Xiang, and in turn, is a dragon.
She often mentions herself in third person.
Yaya is the adoptive daughter of Situ Bi, but she believes that he is her real father.

Situ Bi is a black-hued tortoise-like creature with a snake-like tail, much like a chimera or Nue. From snout to end of his shell, he is 10 metres long, while the tail is 15 metres long. He wears an Asian conical hat.

His main breath ability is water-breath and its advanced version, ice-breath.
He possesses a hard, defensive shell, as well as a serpentine tail with vision and a sharp bite.
He can control water in many ways, and an extension of this ability granted him flight.

Human Appearance:
He is 1.35 metres tall in his human form and resembles a young boy. He looks younger than the picture depicted above.

Personality:
Situ Bi is a wise tortoise who values all life. He tends to speak words of wisdom as a form of motivation for his peers.
He is very disciplined, and some might say that he is 'no-fun'. Well, it is true that he hides his fun side, but that does not mean that he cannot show it from time to time.
He is somewhat bound by his cultures and traditions, unwilling to defy them. However, he might sometimes feel that he must.

History:
Situ Bi was said to be a wiseman among the Xiang, a bizarre race of Oriental Dragons. He provided the Xiang with great wisdom acquired during his journeys.
One day, he stumbles upon a young girl whom he later names Yaya. He raises her as one of the Xiang, teaching her the ways of the Xiang, such as martial arts and values.

Situ Bi is the member of the Xiang race, a race of Oriental dragons with rather wide plumage and a natural knack for Chinese martial arts. Xiang babies resemble chrome-hued grub-like creatures. No matter their parents, when they grow, they will mature into one of these four dimorphisms at the age of 13 human years - Qinglong, Zhuque, Baihu and Xuanwu. They are ruled by the Xiang Emperor, Emperor Huanglong. The Xiang take pride in values and martial arts. In ancient times, they were responsible for coronating human kings.

Situ Bi is a Xuanwu, a tortoise-like Xiang with authority over water. Despite his tortoise-like shape, he is actually kind of fast.

In Xiang Culture, it is a taboo to take the form of a human, at it is seen as 'deception'.

Situ Bi treats and accepts Yaya as his real daughter.

Alrighty, so both are accepted, but I just have a quick question about Dione's.
Who's her brother? Is he an NPC or do you mean brother as in a sorta monk-ish fashion (for lack of better words)

I'm completely fine with it being there though, so you don't have to change it! I'm just curious...

Alrighty. I have been pondering. I actually wanted Yaya and Situ Bi to share a dynamic, but maybe someone else might want to ride a turtle.

Maybe I'll consider allowing someone else to ride Situ Bi... I'm pretty conflicted about my choices, to be honest.

... that being said, are more than two characters allowed if there aren't enough to fill the spaces later?

Appearance:

Despite his slender frame he is actually quite strong. Although not as strong as some of the others he is also very quick and agile, making up for what he lacks in strength.

Personality:
Kusanagi has always been quite playful and always enjoying himself regardless of the situation which has caused some tension between the others. Always joking and never taking anything serious as it seems, but he always gets the job done. He just likes to take enjoyment in battle and the completion of the obstacles before him. While he thinks the others don't understand it, he never opens up about this feeling which allows some miscommunication but he doesn't mind.

He has always been very intelligent, quickly seeing through lies and deception. Kusanagi is naturally observant of how things unfold around him although. He is able to solve problems efficiently even though he likes to play around while doing it. This has been a useful trait when trying to locate animals or some of the others while traversing in the jungle. He developed it while sneaking off into the jungle at night to explore, always looking for new animals or plants. While growing up with the others he noticed how the others acted when telling the truth and when they lied, always taking notes and seeing if he could poke holes through their theory. He has gotten quite good at it and can tell when someone is trying to lead him on or manipulate him.

Kusanagi is quite distrusting when it comes to humans. He believes that only dragons tell the truth so he prefers the company of dragons to that of the others he lives with. While not openly talking about it, it's clear enough by how absent he always is and how can always be found somewhere near the dragons quarters. He is either hanging out with them or checking up on them but never really disturbing them so he can build trust. He knows not to push the boundaries of the dragons and respects them so they allow him to be there. That has causing some resentment with others who are not as able to gain the trust of the dragons.

He is quite upfront which some people hate. He understands social ques and he knows what the proper response is but he can't help himself from either correcting someone or confronting them regardless of the situation. That sometimes gets him into trouble with the others he grew up with. He will hold is tongue if he likes you or respects you such as the Great Dragon Ryo. Usually you can gauge how much he likes you by how rude or brash he is being towards you.

~ Quiet and Thoughtful, but facial Expressions reveal a lot of her inner being
~ Quick to laugh and quick to cry, but Empathic and very Considerate
~ Awkward and Stares a lot, but doesn't mind if others laugh at her Quirky Actions
~ Rarely Gets Angry, but expresses Frustration and Anger in her Sketchbook
~ Makes a repetitive and sometimes annoying clicking noise out the side of her mouth when thinking but witll stop when called out... then starts tapping her foot or something else
~ Dresses very girly and smiles a lot at the boys... but admires the girls when no ones looking

Dragon Appearance:

Gigantic. No really. She is HUUUUUUGE~~!! If a dragon is a fighter plane, Chastaine is their aircraft carrier. Being a Space Dragon, she may not touch the ground nor water, but she may use her tail to anchor herself to the earth or scoop water. She may only be grounded/swim while in human form.

Powers:
Breathes a scintillating cosmic mist, coloured like her human hair, that she may use to hide those behind it as if they are invisible; non-dragons do not even see the mist. Only dragons' eyes may see the mist, so it is in effect useless to dragons as an invisibility cloak and used best only as a smokescreen. Note that it is however, like Volatile Acid to Non-Space Dragons yet to non-dragons it feels like fog/vapour.

The immense swirlling disk upon her back allows her to teleport herself and those upon her body. She may only use this ability twice per day. Basically the power acts as a 'there and back' useage. The distance is limitless. BUT!! She must have travelled to that location before.

She has mind control over the mist she breathes out her mouth; able to shape it and position it at will. But like other Space-Dragons after 3 uses of breath and manipulation, she must spend a full day 'eating' air and radiant light.

Human Appearance:

200cm / 85kg / graceful and finely muscled build / shifting blue to violet with bright pink highlight hair / swirling violet / pink marbled eyes / right-handed / mostly wears simple but elegant white gowns; shawls, scarves, serongs as coloured accents. No shoes.

Personality:
~ Has an air of Haughtiness and Arrogannce, but she is not vain nor self-centred
~ Pushes Penny hard and Scolds her a lot!, but only because of the gravity of the situation; save the world!
~ Rather Talkative, but still full of good advice... once you weed through all those words... All. Those. Words... all of them...!
~ Combat-Oriented and Military Smarts, but still takes time to pause and appreciate artistic endeavors.
~ Becomes Cold and Quiet and rather Standoffish when upset; and very violent when she is Angry, but afterwards when calm she will become rather Kind and even sweet. BUT! That Sweetness lasts not long and when it ends its rather abrupt.
~ Loyal, Tough and Gruff, but inwardly she cannot help but feel deep sorrow for what the state of the world has made her become. Never will she lay eggs only to raise her offspring in this terrible terrible world. Ever. Never again.

Likes: Combat, training/teaching, lecturing/correcting, order and organization, gazing back into the skies day or night, meditation, problen-solving, squishing things violently, storms, flight, babies and younlings, artsy stuff.

Dislikes: Sitting still, being interrupted, jokes/pranks, public displays of affection, Penny's lack of physical fortitude, waiting for Penny to wake up, watching humans eat food or drink (Chaza 'eats' air and sun/starlight) wearing clothes (absolutely refuses to wear shoes), spiders.
