[2nd April 2015, Tuesday - After School - Dojo]
Robert nodded his head to Katsumi as acknowledgement of her greeting, continuing with his warm-up. Dropping to the floor and onto his back, he began with his routine 30 sit-ups, counting each one under his breath. He couldn't help but notice Katsumi breaking straight into training. "You'll do yourself a disservice if you don't warm up first," he commented with a grunt as he came close to his 30. Rolling over, he pressed his knuckles into the ground, 10 press-ups, 10 more with only 3 fingers contacting the floor on each hand, 10 more with 2 fingers contacting each hand. Once he'd finished, he pushed himself back onto knees and groaned in pain as he wiggled his fingers about. "I always hated that one," he muttered to himself. The rest of his warm up was standard, a few stretches and more resistance training before he rose to his feet, pressing the creases from his gi and tightening his belt. He faced the shrine at the front of the room before bowing. "Pinan sandan." Almost as soon as he was up straight again, he pivoted left into a cat stance, delivering an block across his body and exhaling deeply. He looked to to Katsumi briefly as he continued his kata. "I'm glad you stood up to Kane-san in lesson today," he spoke aloud, performing a swift knife-hand strike quickly succeeded by an escaping move.
