Fighting the Losing Battle

The boy sighed, slowly rising and brushing his pants.
"So, are you going to stop me from leaving? Mr...?"
 
Alex sighed when she heard Rin behind her and closed her eyes, pushing her sadness to the back of her mind, hopefully leaving her face devoid of emotion. She didn't agree with being sad and especially around her. "What do you want, Rin? I thought you were going to stay with the human." She asked tiredly, being sure to only face forward and didn't so much as glance to Rin when she approached.
 
Walking through the forest Pandora's senses were on high alert, any change big or small and she would know about it.She could even hear Alex's heart beat and she knew the moment that Rin had joined her.
*Jouc must of stayed behind to look after the human,she could tell his foot was giving him trouble but he will be fine if that human try's to get away.*
 
Miyu hand was still as she kept her eyes on the girl. She showed no remorse to the child. When she saw her reaction to the papers, she took one step closer and pressed the tip of the sword to her neck and narrowed her eyes at her. She could see the hatred she had towards humans. But, at least she got the news which she wanted to hear.
Finally, she lowered her sword, she took a step back and sighed as she shrugged her shoulders.
"I know guys like him. He'd take you, experiment on you and use you to their advantage just to win a war. Guys like that truly do bore me."
She extended her hand out with the sword, her actions were almost as if she was going to slash the young girl. But she didn't. The tip of the sword touched the wooden box which was half the katanas size and the blade vanished in to it, leaving Miyu without a weapon once again.
"I cannot be bothered with such a job. I cannot have a prick like him take a girl like you either."
Miyu sat down on the floor, legs crossed as she reached in to her coat and took out her pipe and started to pack it with her flavoured tobacco. Her attitude completely different now.
"It was all coincidence that I found you here. I was hoping to have a days rest before I tried to come and find you."
Her eyes glanced up to carry on seeing the hatred the girl had, as well as she was questioning what Miyu was.
"And stop giving me such a look; you'll get frown lines before you even hit twenty. Yeah, yeah. You hate me for dragging you here like this, but i did offer nicely, but you had to go judging just like that loud mouthed vampire girl did."
Miyu placed the pipe in her mouth while rolling her eyes.
"Do you guys need any help? I may be just a human, but by the looks of it, you really underestimate our kind just like my old clan did."
She lit the end of her pipe and gradually puffed at the smoke and smirked.
"And if you accept my help, all I ask for in return is a large piece of cake to celebrate when all this is over!"
 
Rin walked a bit behind her, "I was going to but then Jouc decided he wanted to. It frustrated me but he was injured so I thought it would be better rather than having him running out here with a wound. We don't know if we are going to be fighting or not. His injury could be very bad if a fight did ensue. Besides someone has to make sure you don't do anything stupid or drastic."
 
"Easily." Was the only responce he gave the kid before sitting down on the rock ramp as he watched the kid, sure his foot was hurt but catching a human wasn't exactly hard. If the human even tried to run just a slight cut would cause the boy to his knees... mainly because of his power. Without another word he just waited for the others to come back.

Juvo didn't look up, he didn't even know their was a resistance... or what they were resisting. Humans were always 'kind' to him. They thought he was just a normal human when ever they happened to notice him, he looked like one. "Whats the resistance? Who are you keeping everyone safe from?" He asked still trying to figure everything out. He wasn't caught up on the latest anything, he literally has been living in a cave for the past eight years.
 
Evelyn flinched when Miyu swung her sword, thinking she was going to cut her but when she simply put it away, she visibly relaxed but didn't let her guard down. She watched the woman suspiciously and bit her lip in thought at the offer of help. Since the resistance's base was just destroyed and Oliver was… gone they could probably use her. "Well… I should probably talk to the others about that. They might not like another human with us, specially cus you threatened us too." She said, fiddling with her hands nervously and wouldn't make eye contact. She may be brave in battle but around people she doesn't know, she's really shy. "B-But maybe cus you didn't really hurt anyone that much they'll be fine…" She said thoughtfully and reached up to her throat where the sword had cut her and she wiped some of the blood off but the rest of it kind of just smudged on her skin.

Alex finally looked over to her and glared but it wasn't a full-hearted one like usual, this one was just to keep things with an air of normalcy even though all Alex wanted to do was beat someone up then be able to actually be sad for her once leader, friend and savior. "I don't do stupid things, what do you think I am? Some kid?"

The boy shrugs, coughing again.
"Mr. Easily, it sounds like it wouldn't be too hard to escape from someone with a name like yours."

Rachael raised an eyebrow at that but answered his questions, "The resistance is fighting against the humans. They have decided that they want to control areas that belong to us, what they call the supernaturals or non-humans. We are fighting to protect the many different races, elf, fairy, vampire, and the others, from the humans." She let him digest the information and waited to see what else he might want to ask her.
 
I had no time to react it happened, so quickly Jorc knocked my knuckle dusters off and left me without my element powers. I was just about to fall to the ground when Pandora grabbed me so I couldn't move. Then that woman ran off with Evelyn. I wanted to follow but as Pandora left I fell on to the floor I'm guessing Pandora forgot of my injured legs due to the rush to catch up with alex. I needed my knuckle dusters to help me get moving. I couldn't reach them so I had no choice but to lye they. I looked at my hands they were bleeding and hard to move. He looked over and saw Jorc and the kid. "Hey Jorc do me a favour open my bottle for me please" As he said this he struggled to get the bottle out of his cape and rolled it towards Jorc my hands are not in the best of order.
 
As Pandora got deeper in to the forest she started to smell some thing *cherry and vanilla tobacco i can only think of one person who has smoked that of late* with a smile playing at her lips she set of in the direction of the smell. Thinking to herself *I hope Evelyn is ok i cant smell any blood, but that doesn't mean a thing the stench of that smoke could be hiding it*
 
"Well, well we meet again" Pandora takes in the scene The new woman is sat there smoking her pipe and Evelyn is standing looking at her. "So did you find out what you needed? and are you going to be trouble? Pandora looks over at Evelyn,
"Are you ok Evelyn?" Pandora can only see a scratch on the girl but nothing that wont heal in time.
 
Alex stopped for a brief moment and listened, she could hear people out in the woods up ahead. "Come on, we're close. They should be just up ahead." She muttered to Rin then picked up the pace toward the source of the voices.

Evelyn jumped when Pandora spoke, she hadn't noticed her arrival. She quickly nodded and glanced down at the photos, if this woman was following her for a job, did anyone else have the info? Surely she gained knowledge of the resistance by watching her, knowledge that probably wasn't good. "Yeah, I-I'm ok… What about everyone else? Are they ok from the battle?" She asked worriedly. It had been a pretty bad battle, surely someone must have been hurt.
 
Evelyn's question stunned Pandora so young to have seen so much death and destruction "Yes Evelyn there are a few who have been hurt but nothing major they will heal perfectly well in time."She says with a smile, Pandora can hear Alex and Rin have heard her so they know were to come.
 
Evelyn let out a relieved sigh and smiled a little to her. "That's good… we've had enough bad things happen today." She said nodding to herself. After a moment she looked over to Miyu, "She wants to join us," She said, still looking at the woman but her words showed that she was talking to Pandora. She looked to face Pandora as she continued, "said she's help in return for cake afterward." she finished with a sweet smile and shrugged. "Figured I should prolly ask you guys if that's ok first."
 
Rin nodded and followed Alex. She could also hear voices and had no doubt they were close. Yet she chose to remain silent and just allow Alex tell her. Something was off with her and although she didn't get along with her it still bothered her.
 
Miyu couldn't blame Evelyn for not trusting her, hell, Miyu didn't trust Miyu at times! But still, she just sat there, smiling at the young timid child. But her smile turned in to a pout as her hands shot in the air.
"Hey! I didn't attack anyone first off! It was that stupid mosquito that attacked me first! I was just merely observing from a distance."
He put the pipe to her lips once again, inhaled some smoke and slowly let it out while licking her lips. She sure did love the taste of that tobacco.
And then she heard it, slowly looking over her shoulders, there was the woman that attacked her coming from the distance. Groaning, she looked back at Evelyn and grinned, it was obvious the young girl can't observe her surroundings as well as socialising.
"Speak of the devil and he shall appear, that's the right term isn't it?"
Returning to her feet, Miyu took the pipe back out of her mouth and held it between her fingers while he placed her hands on her hips. She remained silent as she listened about the update for everyone back at the burning cabin.
"I am sure there are others in the distance too, I don't know if it involves you guys or not. But… I just thought I'd let you know."
Miyu flicked out the ash from her pipe and returned it to her coat pocket and started walking.
"I am sure I am not the only human this guy has come for asking for work. I am pretty sure he would have gone to some rouge beings too. Probably the reason he came to me."
Miyu looked over her shoulders at the two girls and then looked forward to walk in the direction of the cabin.
"I was raised by supernatural beings. But due to personal reasons, I decided to live on my own in the forest, so obviously the person who wanted to hire me, thought I hated you guys when really, I couldn't give a rats ass about power or revenge. Its just two men I really dislike and its nothing but childish minds that want to take it out on the rest of the race then just that one person."
She felt like she was blabbering now, she turning and flashing a smile she placed her hands on her waist and spoke confidently.
"Come on, I got band aid in my bag. I am sure I can help with some people who can't heal."
 
Thoughts went through Scrubz's mind while lying on his back * I hope evelyn fine but I'm sure the girls will sort it. i'm just so tired. I need my drink soon*. He moves his hands to his face to look at the damage *Jorc really got me there he came out of no where at least it's healing up. I don't know if he meant to hurt me this much or not but glad he did I could of done something stupid as alaways.......... When pandora grabbed hold of me I'm sure I know her but how can anyone mistake me its not like I blend in. Then there's that woman her scent seems familiar but I just can't put my finger on it. I must be going mad next I'm going to think I know that Jorc over there*.
Scrubz breathed in deeply and looked at the kid "What's with you kid I'm here cause of you and the need for money. I've given up on the job now but tell me kid who would of sent me to get you alive at that."
*I don't think Jorc heard me I must of not spoke loud enough I'll raise my voice a little* "Hey Jorc do me a favour please dude open my bottle for me"
 
Pandora raised an eyebrow "she wants cake, well as long as she's not going to bake it, she doesn't come across as the baking type, if you ask me she would probably for get to put the main ingredient in." "But if she want's to join i have no problem with it."
"Just don't ask me to bake it, it's been to many years since i have made a cake and as i wont be eating it i really cant see the point."

Miyu eyes widened to the vampire words about her baking. She spun round, placed her hands on her hips and narrowed her eyes
"I have you know, I am an excellent cook! I just don't enjoy doing it and would much rather have others to do it for me. If it wasn't for my laziness in such manner, I wouldn't do jobs, to earn money to buy things such as eggs and butter, to make such, yummy, nomming heaven of a food!"
She licked her lips and then grinned proudly before turning her head again and made way towards the cabin.
