Kanda chuckled, pulling Emily into the bed. "I was just wishing you were here." He kissed her forehead, curling her into his side. He sighed, content with his girls on either side of him. They seemed comfortable with his heat and he smiled, pulling them closer.

He was happy...exceedingly so. But...he had to ponder about both of his girls. One was a child and should be vulnerable to his heat. One was a homunculus that he had no clue where it came from...

Emily curled up into his side, and Ila did the same, as if noticing Kanda's heat returning. The girls both knew Kanda was there, and so were content and happy in their pleasant slumber, and both knew they'd be safe from any darkness so long as he was there.

Come morning Deacon was at his usual spot at the bar, orange juice in hand and a pile of books in front of him. He spoke nothing of seeing Ila try to leave the previous night, but a pleasant smile was on his face as even he was happy Kanda could finally find someone to bring some glimmer of hope to his coldened heart. "Lyra, mind if I have another juice?"

Kanda woke the next morning with a grumble and shifted in his sleep. He panicked, feeling the two girls on him before he remembered who they were.

Lyra passed Deacon another juice. "Not a problem. Celebrate my brother being back!" She said with a giggle as she seemed to float around the bar, wiping every space and refilling drinks before they were empty. A sleep and ruffled Kronos came down the stairs from the second floor. He ran fingers through his hair, entering the bar area and wrapping his arm around Lyra's waist.
"Hey, beautiful..." He murmured, putting his head on her shoulder and causing her to stop running around like crazy.

Deacon raised the glass with a warm smile. All seemed right in their little guild, it was a day he'd write about in his book. The sun was high, Lyra was happy, Kronos was soon to take her hand in marriage, their leader was back, and he had found happiness in a pair of complete strangers.. and Juice. Nothing could make the day any better. "Agreed! Here's to having Kanda back!"

The commotion down stairs and the mild panic in Kanda force Ila to stir, and soon her eyes woke with a warmth in them to rival the setting sun in a violet hue. She'd bathed in Kanda's magic.. she hadn't lost control, but she could feel that life... the strength of heart and soul that made her no longer worry or doubt. Then she sat up, checking first to be sure that she still had on her clothes (which she did) and checking too to see if Kanda was still alive.

Much to her relief, he was just fine, and she leaned over feel his forhead. "You seem better... How are you feeling, big guy?"

Kanda closed his eyes as Ila leaned over him, checking his body heat. "I'm feeling just fine Ila....Deacon's magic did wonders like usual..." He looked up at Ila.

Lyra raised a shot glass of whisky. "Hear hear!" She said before downing the pungent alcohol. She laughed, turning around in Kronos' arms to kiss him on the lips.
Kronos' eyes went wide and he pulled away from her with a raised eyebrow. "Is someone feeling better?" He chuckled, shaking his head. "Not in front of the kids." He said with a wink and gesturing to the full guild hall.
Lyra looked at Kronos seriously. "I have something to tell everyone..."

"That's a relief... Though scars are a bit sexy.." She said casually, sitting back admittedly a little disappointed, then red eyes met hers from the other side of Kanda and she choked slightly.

"...What's sexy?" Emily asked, and Ila almost died on the spot. The woman sighed and shut her eyes, and as if it was Kanda's fault punched him in the arm and rolled out of the bed.

"When you're older, kid." Ila said, then glanced back to them. "Come on, let's see what the commotion going on down stairs is all about.

Deacon arched a brow at this, innocently oblivious. "What that?"

Kanda felt his eyebrow raise and he shook his head. Lifting Emily, he picked her up in his arms and carried her. He groaned, putting a hand on Ila to steady himself a moment. "Commotion?" He scrunched his nose in thought.

Lyra laughed. "Well, as we all know, our Master passed away a few days ago and there was quite the fuss as to whom was going to take the job..." She looked at Kronos before looking back over the guild. "Since I am here all day every day anyway...I shall be the new Guild Master."

Ila helped Kanda out of the room, supporting him as best she could as Lyra was giving her announcement, then paused whens he'd reached the end. A smile lit up her face, and Ila immediately gave a hollar with the rest of the guild who was stirred into an uproar with drinks spilling through the air.

Deacon however, wasn't so happy to hear it. His eyes lowered, but a smile was forced on his face. He didn't have a good feeling about Lyra taking up that mantle.. he'd always thought it would be Kanda... but he supposed like everyone else, He'd need to realize Lyra was a young woman, and his elder by rights. He had no business worrying for her, at least while Kronos was looking out for her, right?

"Cool, how does it feel to be the brother of the Guild Master, Big Guy?" Ila beamed, and Emily gave a hoot from Kanda's arms.

Kanda growled, a frown on his face. "It's fine I suppose...she would be better at handling it than I would."

Kronos wrapped his arms around Lyra's waist once again, pullling her close and laughing. "Enjoy it while you can, sweetheart...pretty soon you'll be annoyed by all these rascals!"

Ila noticed the growl and the frown and raised a brow, curious. "What's wrong, Kanda? I thought you'd be happy about it.. This means you don't have to be Guild Master! Smile will you?" She insisted, punching him lightly on the shoulder.

Kanda looked at her with a raised eyebrow. "I was happy bout it...until I thought about all she would have to face now..." He shook his head.

Lyra raised the glass for a toast and all the guild members followed suit. "So, here's to not destroying things!" She winked.

Ila smiled faintly, understanding his concern and reached an arm out to pat him on the shoulder. "I think she'll be ok, big guy. She's got Kronos to watch out for her, and her concerned big brother."

Deacon raised his juice with a grin. "Like THAT'LL happen!" And the rest of the guild roared with laughter. "But Let's hope you guys make it a LITTLE easy for her starting out."

Kanda nodded, leaning into Ila. "True enough...but who will watch Kronos?" His eyebrow rose. Shifting Emily in his arms, he began the long trip down the stairs.

Lyra laughed. "Now, now boys and girls...I am not afraid to punish!" She winked at the crowd. "Here's to us!"

Emily clung close to Kanda as he leaned on Ila, and Ila helped him down the steps. Ila couldn't help but smirk at Kanda's clear concern, then parked Kanda at the bar as the Guild give a loud "Hoo-Rah!" to Lyra's toast. Everyone was in good spirits, they now had leadership AND one of their most important members had been returned to them.

"Well then, might we get a few final drinks from our new guild master? Or will we now be able to help ourselves at will?" Ila grinned with a slight tease.

Kanda sighed as he was seated at the bar, holding Emily on his lap.

Lyra looked at Ila with a raised eyebrow. "No. I'd run this guild into the ground if I let you lot have free drinks! But, for the next hour or so I'll let it be an open bar." She smiled, going around and giving Kanda a hug. She kissed his forehead. "I'm glad you're home big brother..."

Emily reached up to Lyra when she came in for the hug, but pouted when it was Kanda who'd recieved it. Dragon eyes glared at the floor as her cheeks puffed up like a fish.

Ila reached over to pat Emily on the head. "You have to share him at some point, kid." she chuckled, then at the words 'open bar' she was gone to sate her thirst for something stronger than water. It'd been so long..too long, with too many worries on her mind and too many things going on. She'd earned a drink by now.

Lyra smiled softly at Emily's reaction and bent down to kiss her on the forehead. "You deserve a big glass of milk for taking care of Kanda for me." She grabbed Kanda's hand pulling him over to the bar. She quickly made a glass of milk and set it in front of the child before looking up at Kanda with a raised eyebrow.

Kanda shook his head, sat down, and pulled Emily onto his lap. "I can see you have questions. No, she isn't mine...you should no better than that..."

Lyra put up her hands defensively. "I wasn't going to ask that..."

Kanda smiled. "I know. I found her and took her in and now Emily is mine..." He stuck out a tongue at his younger sister, showing spirit and life he hadn't had in a while.

Lyra chuckled. "Beer? Wine? Ale?"

Kanda waved a hand. "No. Milk."

The kiss had Emily beaming with the sort of satisfaction expected of a child praised for doing a good job then she took her milk in her hands and happily drank it.

Ila watched them over the rim of her glass. Kanda did seem rather lively, much happier than the cold knight of flame that had come to save her. It was a change, but a pleasant one, and one she'd hoped wouldn't go away anytime soon. Though the want of milk did catch her a little off guard. "I didn't think you'd take being a daddy so seriously, Big Guy. Not that the look doesn't suit. " She said with a tilt of her glass.

Kanda looked over at Ila with a raised eyebrow. "What are you talking about?" He took a drink of the milk, looking at Lyra with puppy eyes. "Sis...do you have any of your cookies stashed back there?"

Lyra sighed, shaking her head as she brought out a tin of her cookies. "Kanda...you're going to get fat and lazy again..."

Emily saw the cookies and nearly jumped out of Kanda's lap, to get at the tin, flailing a suddenly empty glass around in excitement.

Ila opted to not be around the craziness and took a few steps toward the job request board as the doors to the guild hall were calmly opened by the hand of the young man with the wolf as his companion. The escort mission had been completed and he walked silently through the hall as he always did, never one much for drawing a lot of attention to himself or making a lot of noise like his guild counterparts. He was known simply as Wolfram to most, and as he never socialized he never really gave his real name. All that was known about him was his magic was "Wild" and his wolf was used in some of hte more powerful spells he could use.

Wolfram approached Kanda with calm black eyes then pulled out a note worth 250,000 Jule, folded it in half and placed it on the tabletop infront of him. "Your and Ila's cut." He said simply, then tilted his head to the side. "Glad you're alright."
