Eralion roared at the sudden turn of events, grabbing whatever clothing was near him and dragging it over to Ellelunia, pressing it against her wound, trying to stem the flow of blood.

"Roaaaarrrrrrrrmmmmmmellll elarara" He was yelling at Raeos, but the words were just growls and unintelligable sounds. He settled for giving Raeos a terrifying look as he nearly stood ontop of Ellelunia with his front paw, making sure the blood flow was stopping. Looking down at Ellelunia he saw anger in her eyes and he didn't blame her, why the hell had Raeos shot her? 'Did he see her act and think it was something different? It doesn't matter' He decided. 'There's no reason to shoot one of your traveling companions.'

Raeos watched her reaction with childish bewilderment, noting all of her reactions. She was not immune to pain, it just seemed that she may have unnatural healing properties. This was all just a test, of course, to expose whatever supernatural properties she may have and maybe even test their limits.

"I didn't shoot you," he casually interjected. "If I had shot you, it would've hurt a lot more. I just stabbed you with the bolt."

He held out a hand to Ellelunia. "Come on, take my hand. Stand up. Show us where it hurts."

"NO! DRUID, GET THE FUCK OFF ME!!!" Ellelunia screamed as he pressed hard against her body, her voice cutting out as her pain seemed to dry out her throat. She shook herself out from under him, rolling away and pulling hard on the cloth he was pressing on her. It seemed she was having much more resistance against the cloth than she should have, pulling it now with her teeth as well as both of her hands. </SPAN>

Suddenly, Ellelunia cried out in pain as an audible rip rang through the air and her arm dripped with blood. Her skin had been ripped completely off, the fatty tissue and muscle showing from underneath as she cried. She threw the scrap to the ground, swearing loudly as she tried to breath, covering her shoulder like she had before, with her palm curved over it without touching.</SPAN>

"God dammit!" She rolled on the ground, wanting to get up and stab Raeos right in his stupid human face.</SPAN>

'What the fuck is going on?? Why was the shirt hindering her healing instead of helping it? Why is she bleeding so much!?' He looked at her and growled and a mishmash of sounds came out of his mouth and his eyes were wide open. He sat on the ground and just looked at her, waiting for an explanation. His bear jaw hung open as he watched her roll on the ground. 'Nothing I do is right!' He threw his bear arms up in the air in frustration and continued watching Ellelunia.

Ellelunia did not take his hand, nor did she decline it; instead, she rolled away and screamed at Bearalion. He bent down, resting his rear on his heels and placing his hands over his knees. Interesting. Ingesting every action and reaction of hers, he did his best to piece together the oddity that was unfolding before him.

He pushed on his knees and stood back up, meandering over to the bit of cloth that lay on the ground next to her. There was a small ring of blood and flesh that had adhered itself to the fabric and was left behind. He scooped up the scrap, examining it more closely, his eyes flitting back and forth between the rag and her now-exposed shoulder. It was disgusting, to be sure, but nothing that he hadn't seen before.

He gripped tightly in his hand and turned his entire body towards Ellelunia, whom lay on the ground. He scowled down the bridge of his now-healing nose, his tone reflecting the ire in his eyes. "Why didn't you tell us you had some sort of crazy power? Don't you think something like that would've been worth mentioning before we got into battle?" He curled up his free hand and stuck his thumb out, pointing with it over his shoulder to Erabear behind him. "What if the bear had tried to do something heroic?" His tone had moved from anger to one that was more accusatory in nature, the scowl still present in his lips and eyes.

Ellelunia removed her hand from her wound-which had completely disappeared. She clenched her fist, threatening to punch Raeos right in the face. </SPAN></SPAN>

"My secrets are mine to keep, besides, the druid is too kind to attack you without a verbal reason…" She lowered her fist and sighed. " What I can do to protect myself on the battlefield is personal, it has no bearing on how you fight" </SPAN></SPAN>

Orion came up to her and rubbed against her leg, motioning for her to look at the group of scared women grouped by the caravan.</SPAN></SPAN>

"Let's just get to the next town, I feel bad enough delaying these women from their freedom; they aren't safe out here…"</SPAN></SPAN>

Eralion was annoyed with Ellelunia. He pointed at Raeos with his bear paw and made some noises, but he was talking at Ellelunia. 'I did want to beat Raeos for stabbing Elle but he is right. We should know things like this. They know I can turn into any type of animal, we know Raeos is ... a short human, we should know what Elle can do!' He shook his furry head in annoyance and started walking over to the caravan where the woman were sitting, looking terrified. He tried to smile, and stood up on his hind legs, swinging his large arms up, paws out, and doing a little jig. The girl who had thanked Ellelunia giggled at him and started dancing where she stood, making the women feel more comfortable but still nervous. He hoped the sight would lighten their mood, he knew they had been through a lot and he wanted them to feel free now. Stopping his dance he was back on all fours and looking at Ellelunia with his eyes narrowed, with a look of annoyance on his face. He snorted at her and turned to follow the road, waiting for her to begin.

*******

It took them quite a few hours, but they reached the bridge crossing the Oxtail on their way into Hadar only an hour or two after dark. Eralion had since shifted back into his Sahrian form and put his clothes back on, so when they walk into the town there wouldn't be a commotion about a giant bear walking with them. The women on the caravan had mostly slept, but once they were on the bridge all of them were awake. Looking with excited eyes as they came up to the town, a few of them jumped off and ran in the direction of houses, which he assumed were their own houses. People were out and about by the time they hit the middle of the town, and everyone had seen them coming. A few cheers rose up but most people stared, amazed that these three random people had actually brought back the caravan of women who had just been stolen from their town, including the women who were with the caravan when it rolled through. Eralion just left a small smile on his face for anyone passing by to see, to know they were not a danger or a threat.

He scoffed at Ellelunia's threatening body language and turned away from her, tossing the rag to the ground. Raeos moved back to his horse, fashioning his leather pack to it's side and swinging his body up on it while scanning the caravan that lay in broken pieces on the ground. The three of them had really done a number on it in an extremely short period of time. He shouldn't be surprised, really; a horse-bear-whatever is a pretty powerful force and it seemed like the woman had a personal reason for engagement. She did not seem like the incredibly reckless type, yet she engaged a force that was a dozen times their own size. Even he would not do something so brash.

I wonder how much she can actually regenerate. It'd be useful to know how much danger she's in when she actually gets injured.

He shook off his doubts of Ellelunia and joined the two of them with the carriage and previous slaves. One of the women hopped out of the carriage and took up the reins of the horses in the lead, directing them down the path as the trio escorted them. Raeos rode in the rear of the group, resting his head against the neck of his own horse. Bit by bit his eyes drooped closed until he finally nodded off, his horse continuing to shamble forward with the rest of the group.

When he awoke, his horse had faltered and was behind the group. What actually woke him was the horse's head bending down to nibble on some grass by the roadside. "Grahh, stupid beast." His words were slow and slurred as he shook off his grogginess. With a few flicks and some prodding of his heels, the horse peeled off of its snack and returned to the path, Raeos pressing the thing fast towards town. It entered in to a sprint, which slowed down to a quick gallop as he neared the rest of the group. He did not return to them until they had already breached the inside of the town.

"So," he called out as he approached Ellelunia's side, "when do I get to take my reward from one of these women?" He had taken many supplies and large amounts of coin from the slavers, but there was always the possibility of something a little more.

The ride to Hadar was a grumpy one. Ellelunia's heart beat in her chest as her stallion trotted strongly ahead of the caravan, leading them all inside the city. Eralion had taken his natural form again, which made Ellelunia's face flush red secretly as she tucked her head into her chest in an attempt to cover her emotions. She watched him as he called out to her and made her stop, taking his pack from her and put his common clothes back on. The women inside the caravan let out a group "aww" as they oogled him, some of them fanning their bodies off as if a heat wave had struck them.

A pang of annoyance shot through Ellelunia's body when suddenly the human caught up with her. She had barely been paying attention to him, but now that he was at her side, asking her the most rediculous of questions;she wished he had gotten lost.

"I would rather sleep with you myself before letting one of these poor women go through that torture" Ellelunia jested, poking self sacrifice at him in form of humor. The women had begun to scatter, leaving them with an all but empty caravan. As the driver found her home, they halted, Ellelunia adding her horse to the front of the carriage to help the already trained pulling stead. She walked around back, throwing in their supplies and motioning for Orion to join her on the driving bench. Without hesitation, the large cat jumped up, trying his hardest not to startle the horses.

An eyebrow arched high at Ellelunia's comment, his lips sliding in to a smug smirk. He followed her lead, adding his horse to the front of the pulling team before hopping off. He grabbed the leather pack on the way down and slung it over his shoulder, turning away from the caravan and crossing his arms behind the back of his head. His fingers laced together, cupping the base of his neck and he took long exaggerated strides away from the carriage.

"Torture, eh? That's not what your sister called it." He continued his iconoclastic exit from the group, heading towards what appeared to be a small tavern in the center of town. Pushing open the door, he was greeted by the familiar smell of sweat, musk and grain alcohol. Inhaling deep and filling his lungs with the smell of the place, he took a seat at a table nearest the western wall. Within minutes, a waitress had come over and was addressing him.

"Well hey there. What can I get a gentleman like yourself?" Her voice was sweet and bouncy, hitting shrill arpeggios at the ends of her sentences.

Raeos' eyes swept doggedly over her frame several times, defying a response whilst he did so. When he had sufficiently studied her form, he directed his gaze back to her eyes and stared deep in them. "Go get the strongest, most expensive thing you have. Bring me back two of them."

She winked and gave him a bright smile. "I'll be right back honey." The waitress waddled back to the barkeep, relaying the information and was given two large bottles. She brought these bottles back to Raeos and placed them on the table in front of him, opening her mouth to tell him the price. "Alright hun, we're looking at-"

He withdrew a small sack of coins which he had stolen from one of the slavers and poured some of its contents on the table. From the sack came a river of gold coins, lighting up both his and the waitress' eyes. Raeos separated a dozen gold pieces from the overwhelming collection and shoved them towards the waitress. "That should be enough," he glanced up to the busty woman, eyes dawdling on her goods before moving up to lock on her eyes. "For you and the drinks. Come back later, you hear?" The corners of his lips tilted upwards in a sly show of intent to the waitress.

The waitress had been completely awestruck by this gesture and the idea of working a little harder for such a pay-off was not something that could be easily dismissed in her mind. Sure, she had patrons constantly ask this exact thing, but they weren't often packing an overload of gold on them. "Sure, sweetie. I'll think about it." She offered him a coy wink and left him once more, giving him a wonderful show of her hips as she walked away.

Conversations flew on the wind of the room to his ear as he opened up the first bottle. He raised the thing to his lips, taking in its delicious flavor. Almost instantly his chest was warmed by the liquid. Raeos' ears perked up as the bits of conversation were pieced together in his head, a few men rambling raucously about it.

"The thing is huge!"
"It took out both of the men I hired."
"...we'll all have to move."
"I heard some magician summoned it."
"It came out of the deepest part of the river!"
"The river isn't that deep, you dolt."

He leaned forward in his chair, placing his elbow on the table and resting his chin on his hand. What exactly are they talking about? It sounds like a fairytale. The free hand was his drink hand, periodically bringing the bottle back to his lips as he listened to the men converse.

Ellelunia's mouth hung agape, her jaw loosened from his obvious boast about sleeping with her sister. It was as if her body filled with magma, red hot and steaming for a quick moment before she jumped down and left the caravan with Eralion, pointing for him to stay put. She charged after Raeos, only to be cut off by some human men carrying large grain sacks and wine barrels into the pub. She groaned as she lost sight of 'her' human, having a hard time telling who was who. The townsfolk looked at her with wonder, not sure what she was, just as some of her own race didn't know. </SPAN></SPAN>

"How much for a ride?" A lecherous, bearded human said from his leaned position against the tavern window. His body was covered in dirt, obviously he had been thrown out . By the stumble to his step, he must have been the town drunk. Ellelunia managed to ignore him, pushing him over to the ground with a grunt, leaving the man crawling on the ground-sputtering curses. </SPAN></SPAN>

"Raeos?!" Ellelunia shouted as she swung open the door, the hard wood, hitting against the wall as she barged in. The patrons turned their glazed eyes to her body for a moment, most of them whistling as she walked by, reaching out and pinching her ass. Ellelunia clenched her teeth, ignoring them as best she could whilst she stomped her way over to Raeos, watching as he ogled his waitress as she walked by. The human woman gave Ellelunia a strange look as they knocked into one another.

When Ellelunia reached the table, she grabbed the bottle that sat on the table, taking out her knife and viciously slicing off the top. The lip of the bottle fell to the floor, bouncing around her feet as she raised the bottle to her lips and chugged. When the bottle was half gone, she slammed it down on the table, angrily staring into Raeos' eyes.</SPAN></SPAN>

"Tell me you didn't…"</SPAN></SPAN>

"Whoa! Hey, come on, that's..." His voice trailed off as Ellelunia brought the bottle to her lips. "Do you have any idea what I paid for that? And I used my hard earned money, too." He had not noticed her enter the place, even with all the slamming and yelling. The woman, and then the men, had held his attention too tightly.

However, he could not ignore her imposing frame as she learned over the table and stared a sharp, iron stare at him. His reaction to the situation was visible; his gait and swagger were receding a bit, faced now with an overly angry woman bearing down on him. "Didn't what?" He mused playfully, flicking the long of his scarf back over his shoulder. "Didn't tell you my name? No, I don't believe I did. That bear is a scoundrel, giving away my secrets. They are ours to keep, after all."

Her entire body reacted violently to his aggressive comedy. He noticed this and immediately cleared his throat, lightening his tone a bit and sitting upright in his chair. "She wanted to try and start a family. Who was I to say no?" He smiled and canted his head at Ellelunia, staring back in to her red-hot gaze defiantly. "It's your fault, really. I needed a release after your little escapade."

Their conversation was suddenly interrupted by the entrance of a sobbing woman to the bar. Any other visitor might have simply been ignored, or hassled like Ellelunia, but the atmosphere in the place seemed to thin when she entered the scene. The woman made her way over the group of men that had been feverently discussing a situation before, embracing one of them before wailing out her problems.

"Jaeden, It's...it's...my husband, and my boys!" She took in deep breaths between sobs, her words coming out erratically as she hugged her husband's friend. "They're after the bounty on the creature. He left me a note this morning and took both our boys. I...they...if they don't come home, I'll just die!" The men seemed to all know of her husbands plight, for there was a bit of an uproar and shouts of condolences as they comforted her.

Raeos let his attention linger on the situation for only as long as she spoke, then turned his eyes back to Ellelunia, sipping more of the delicious liquid and staring at her over the end of the bottle. "You know," he said between gulps, "you're paying me back for that."

"Get a life" Ellelunia scoffed as she pulled up a chair to drink with him. She turned to look in the direction his eyes had been shadowing, listening carefully to the words that were spilling wearily out of the distraught woman's blubber gob. There was a certain attractiveness to the dangerous mission that was laid out in front of them. The fact that they had been present when this conversation took place made it all the more perfect.

"Sounds like there is some extra coin to be earned..." She said under her breath; the idea of battle giving her good bumps. She looked at Raeos, the promise of adventure creeping under her skin to excite her.

Ellelunia's eyes caught his and he saw a familiar emotion in them. "Oh no." He called out, reaching across the table and grabbing her wrist. "Don't you even think about it."

The sparkle in her eyes was met with a dullness in his. His grip on her wrist tightened and he repeated his point. "We have other things to do?" Pausing for a moment, he recalled that she had never detailed the purpose of their mission to him. "Come to think of it," he began, his eyes shooting towards the door. "What exactly is the purpose of our travels? I get the feeling that we're doing something more than just going to different towns and performing heroic acts." His eyes drifted back to hers, the dullness still present.

Maybe she IS the reckless type. I don't want to be dragged away chasing a fairytale.

Ellelunia rolled her eyes at him, twisting him off of her wrist and grabbing the bottle again, taking another drink. It was starting to make her dizzy, her small size yet again a downfall to what should have been her Sahrian lineage. She pursed her lips, puckering them at him for a brief moment, begging him with her features.

"Since when has coin not attracted a human?" She laughed, lifting her boots and placing them on the table, her ankles gently crossed. "My mission is to light the signal fires- there is one nearby. What sort of adventure would it be without grandeur?" She tried to fill his head with fantasy, though it didn't seem to be working. She sighed heavily and took another swig, her head swirling a little with the lack of food in her system.

"Hey human! Bring some food and put it on my friends tab!" Ellelunia waved down the waitress, who had a very dissatisfied look on her face as she waddled back to the kitchen.

"You don't mind right? Of course you don't..."

"Without grandeur," he started, shifting his chair and turning his body away from her so as to not be taunted by her pouty lips. "We'll complete our objective. Why should we take these forks in the road? What would your sister say?" He turned back towards, opening his mouth to say something sarcastic before remembering the previous fire in her eyes and shutting his mouth.

His knuckles whitened as she called out to the waitress, ordering untold foods for the two of them. Given their past encounter, the waitress would likely return with the most expensive things this place could put out. Hands flattening over the table top, he pushed himself roughly up to his feet. "You're not going to stop, are you?" He turned his eyes down to her, putting a hand on her ankles and pressing in slightly. "Fine. We'll do it your way." He pushed her ankles off the table, stepping to the side and behind her.

Raeos approached the group across the way, interjecting in the middle of their conversation. He spoke loud and forcefully, commanding their attention. "Hey. Listen. Tell us where this creature is, tell us how much it's worth and my friends and I will return with its head." They turned their heads towards him and inspected him. At once the entire group roared with a boisterous laughter, calling out to him.

"You? You're tiny!"
"The beast would eat you in one bite."
"Go back to your home child, we don't need more deaths on our hands."

Normally, the insults would not bother Raeos. These men, however, were insulting his combat ability without knowing anything about him and after the events of the past few days it was a rather sore subject. He sprung in to action, bringing his elbow to the first man's face, extending the same arm forward and delivering his fist to the second man. He grasped the third man by the back of his head and pushed forward, driving the man's face down to the lacquered wood top. Pressing his hand, and summarily the mans face, firmly against the table he brought his own head down to the level of the man's face.

"Now, tell me where to go and how much we're getting paid."

The man delivered the information; somewhere on the Ox Tail River and thirty gold pieces for proof of the creature's death. Raeos returned to Ellelunia, relaying the information to her. "We'll eat first and then tackle the creature." The waitress arrived with perfect timing, bringing them two healthy plates of roasted meat and earthy vegetables. Raeos sunk back down in to his chair and ripped in to the meaty chunk before him.

"wow, was that necessary?" Ellelunia smiled, enjoying the fire that seemed to ignite in him with the sight of a challenge. "Attacking them seems a little extreme..." She was a bit speechless, surely she would have swept the floor with them too, but she wouldn't have been going for the face. The waitress delivered their food and Raeos began stuffing his face almost immediately. Ellelunia looked down at the food and tucked her long black hair behind her ear. The patrons were staring at them, like they were some sort of maddened couple, driven by money and adventure, but on the other hand, was that so bad?

She watched her human companion for a while- waiting to see if he would take any breaths in between eating. She started on her own meal, eating hungrily as her stomach edged her on. Hopefully Eralion had found a place to safely store the caravan and all their belongings. It would be one less thing that she had to worry about.

"So when do we go?" When she was done with her meal, she put her boots back up onto the table, her body full of the deliciousness.

"It wash absholootlee necesarreh." Words came out through chunks of meat and vegetables, some of the contents of his mouth spilling out on to the table. Bottle was brought to his mouth, washing down the food with some delicious warmth and clearing his cave for proper speech. "The men were not going to give me the information. I simply extracted it." More vegetables were stuffed in to his mouth and he spoke again. "Like you'd haff don it diffrnt."

The plate of food was finished off and he wiped his mouth clean of debris with his tongue and sleeve. After that, he finished the bottle of liquor, slamming it down on to the table with an exaggerated sigh. "Let's go now. I've left most of my things back with our horses and we should probably go get it all." After a quick glance down to his own pack, he added, "I should probably also acquire something larger than this flaying knife. I don't think it will be adequate against this presumably large creature."

Ellelunia's buzz was finally transforming in to a slightly annoying level of drunkenness. Her body slouched with comfort as she seemed to melt into the chair, her arms folded across her chest lightly. She grimaced as she watched him talk and eat, almost frightened by his lack of manners and round human teeth.

"I bet we could do it without our weapons..." She posed, wondering what his reaction would be. Her body tingled with excitement, or maybe it was the liquor; she wasn't sure.

Raeos raised an eyebrow to Ellelunia. Trailing his fingers over the tabletop, he contemplated her response. Maybe the girl had super strength along with her regenerative properties, maybe she could secretly control magic and was planning on exploding the creature outright. Or maybe she was just drunk. He folded his arms over his chest, staring down the brim of his nose at Ellelunia.

"Didn't your sisters give you equipment for us to use? I think this is one of those scenarios." He pulled the sack of coins from his pack and dumped four gold pieces on the table, leaving payment and then some for their meal. Stretching his hand towards Ellelunia, he beckoned her once more to take it and follow him. "Come on. Let's go retrieve our things and head out to tackle this. We can probably get to the river before dawn, dispatch the creature and return before it gets too late."
