Emberlynn walked out of the steamy bathroom, still drying her hair and in her pajamas. She looked at Aeon's sweet sleeping face. He looked so peaceful and at ease when he slept, but for all she knew, deep down, he might be hurting about something. What that something was, she had no clue and nor did she want to pry. Privacy was privacy.

She took the towel off her bright blonde hair and threw it back, brushing it out . She then threw it up into a ponytail, her usuall look. She even wore it when she slept. It made her hair cooperate better in the morning. She went over to check Aeon's rag and his fever. It had gone down a little bit more, but he still felt a little hot. Keeping it on him for about another hour would bring it down all the way. She grabbed it, soaked it in cold water again and gingerly set it back on his head. She noticed that he was shivering...

Emberlynn grabbed a nearby maid in the hall and asked her to bring an extra couple of blankets. She quickly obeyed, bringing 2 more blankets and handing them to her, bowing and heading back to her work.

Emberlynn threw the blankets over Aeon. His shivering stopped immediately and she jumped into bed herself, quickly falling asleep. She hoped he would find the note and take another vitamin before the finals, that way, he could fight with all his might!

Aeon found tears rolling down his cheeks at Analyss's memory. He quickly brushed it away before Emberlynn could see. When Emberlynn put the blankets on him, he felt warmer, the chills stopped running down his spine. He felt himself drifting off again, the embrace of sleep taking him. He was feeling better, and hoped he could participate in the tournament tomorrow and give it the best he's got.

Upon waking up, he took the medicine she left out for him, then took his leave, finding his Pokemon worried to death for him. After assuring them he was fine, and was going to be in the battle today, he ran to the Pokemon Center, taking out his best friend and champion Pokemon. He hadn't used her in any other Tournament, so it will definitely be a crowd pleaser.

Taking her to the Tournament Center, he was greeted by the administration with shouts of happiness. Smiling, he greeted them back, ready to fight.

Emberlynn awoke to the bed next to her empty. He had taken his supplement. Good. She was glad he was feeling good enough to get out of bed. She got up, took a shower, got dressed, etc....and then grabbed all her pokeballs, specifically setting aside the ones she would be using today. She grabbed her backpack, grabbed her ticket for the ferry back to Unova and headed over to the arena.

Whether she lost or won today depended on how well she battled. She would battle with everything she had. All her skills and knowledge she had gathered always went into the finals of every tournament she managed to reach the finals in. Now it was her turn to see how well Aeon would do against her.

She walked into the arena, it was abuzz with the sound of many people awaiting the two trainers who were going to duke it out today. Many sounded excited. They should be. This would be a great battle. She handed her pokemon to nurse joy and waited for them at the nearest bench. She wondered where Aeon was now. She hoped he was feeling better. She looked at the clock. The battle started in 1 hour. She was excited and anxious at the same time. How would this battle turn out? She didn't know, but she would try her hardest to win!

Upon arriving at the Tournament Center, Aeon saw Emberlynn, and went over to greet her. "Hey. Uh, thanks for taking me back to the hotel. I don't remember much of it, but I remember how kind you were." He smiles, and sticks his hand out. "May we both fight well and prove a challenge to whoever wins."

After shaking her hand, to pump himself up, he drinks energy supplements designed for Pokemon but worked on people all the same. "Well, I've got to go. I need to work out something with the administration. The next time we see eachother, it'll be in the Stadium." He made a phone call, not to a contact to finalize the details of his entrance, but to tell his contacts that there would be no theatrics during this battle: he didn't need it, not for this.

Emberlynn was shortly greeted by Aeon who thanked her for taking care of him. She smiled.

"No problem! Anytime!" she shook his hand and let him go as he needed to go finalize things for his battle. She wondered what kind of show he'd put on for their battle. Would he put on a show at all? She had no clue, but it was about time for her to be going into the stadium. So just before, she grabbed an energy drink, grabbed her 2 pokeballs and Jolt and headed out onto the stadium floor. The announcer was as loud and obnoxious as ever, but the crowd was really riled up. They were itching to see a good battle and a good battle is what they were going to get.

She stepped out onto the field, 10 minutes remaining until it actually started. She usually did this in order to calm her anxious excitement. Jolt sat on his haunches next to her, closing his eyes and relaxing as well. The people in the audience stared at the wierd little trainer, yet they still shouted with excitement . It all came down to this...Although, she had truly wished that she could have gotten the chance to give Aeon a hug before she got back on the Ferry to Unova to finish her gym badge challenge...maybe even...she blushed as she thought of even giving him a kiss. She shook the thoughts away as the clock had only one minute left to go. She stood up and held up her first pokeball, pumping up the crowd.

"YOU READY TO DO THIS?! LET'S GET THIS BATTLE STARTED!" Ember said with a huge smile on her face. Jolt began emitting sparks, his excitement growing as well. This was going to be a good battle!

Striding out into the stadium, all Aeon did to help the crowd recognize him was his signature sign, the two fingered peace salute.

After this last battle, he hoped to go to the Sevii Islands and take a break from battling. The Sevii Islands were an archipelago that Aeon had heard of as a kid, but never visited. Maybe, he thought, he might tour the world and find a final place to stop, a home. The Sinnoh and Unova regions sounded halfway decent, and he might consider staying there.

He hadn't discussed any theatrics for this battle because all they were were just that: theatrics. A farse. A false front. But now that Aeon had met Emberlynn, he felt he didn't need it anymore, to hide his true self from the world. To make it out that he was confident and cool, when inside he was really scared and broken. It's funny. After Analyss died, Aeon had never believed in love, that eventually, people will die or leave you, and you were out of love. He had decided to play it safe and never love again, even like anyone, but when Emberlynn came into his life, even if it was only for a few days, he went against his promise to himself.

He put on a smile for everyone, then raised his hand in a fist. "Are you ready?" He shouted to Emberlynn and the crowd.

Emberlynn smiled and raised her fist.

"I'm ready if you are! Let's do this!"

This battle, she didn't really care if her pokemon was against it's weakness, she was going to fight until the end. She wouldn't lose so easily. She wondered how hard it would be to fight Aeon. She hoped he was as big of a challenge as he was to the other trainers. She raised her pokeball and threw it gracefully into the air to reveal her first pokemon, Weavile. She appeared, throwing her hands on her hips like she normally did. It was her own little style of saying "here I am, look at me". She loved the spotlight on her and as her first pokemon, she should do a great job.

"Alright, Weavile, you ready to win this?"

Weavile looked behind her and with determination in her eyes, she spoke with excitement.

"WEAVILE!"

She then turned back to Aeon. Which Pokemon would he choose to fight her with? A fighting type would be smart or a flying type that could learn fighting type moves would also be a smart choice. But Aeon had already used Skarmory and besides, she had no idea if Skarmory knew any fighting moves or even if he was recovered from his first fight. Emberlynn pointed at Aeon.

"Your move, handsome!" she winked, awaiting the pokemon he would send out.

Aeon smiled, already pumped up. Throwing a Pokeball into the air, he unveiled his first Pokemon. "Arcanine!" He shouted, and from the ball came the dog-lion companion.

Bot giving Emberlynn a second to react, Aeon called, "Rock smash!" As Arcanine dashed forward, Aeon said after him, "Go get 'em, mate!"

Excitement ran through his veins. This would have to be a carefully calculated if he was to make it so she won, but it looked like he was actually fighting. It was definitely a break in his pride, but he believed it was a good cause. He had always looked down on trainers who did this, but now he realized how much of a hypocrite he was being.

But no matter! At least not at the moment. He would fight as much as he could for now!

Emberlynn sent Weavile forward.

"Weavile, let's go! Start us off with a Shadow Ball!" Weavile dashed forward, gaining much ground on Arcanine. He was smart to have chosen Arcanine. Arcanine was a fire type and super fast. He was the pokemon that would most likely stand a chance against Weavile. Weavile, however, was Emberlynn's slyest pokemon. She had tricks up her sleeve that not even she knew about sometimes. She was definitely the most mischevious pokemon she had. Weavile closed in, this time, following orders to a T and firing a shadow ball directly at Arcanine.

Whether he dodged it or not, Weavile backed up, ready to attack once more.

"Alright, through this dust, use Nasty Plot!" Weavile sat on the ground, dark energy surrounding the mischevious pokemon. It would be perfect cover for her to strengthen her Special Attack. Although, she'd have to time it right in order to counter Arcanine's speed. No matter if he got hit by the shadow ball or not, it was sure not to knock out the big, fast and powerful fire type. That she knew for certain. Weavile continued to use it until the dust started to clear. Weavile waited to see what the likely confused Arcanine would be doing.

"Watch carefully Weavile and when you find him, counter him with a Night Slash!" Weavile powered up it's Night Slash, waiting for the Fire pokemon to appear.

"Okay, Arcanine, we've practiced this. Don't let yourself be confused by this. Remember, it's a psychological ploy used by trainers to make you feel scared or confused when the truth is, in fact, that they are the scared and confused ones." This wasn't always the case, but it was for a great deal many. "Kick up more dust with Extreme Speed, and wait."

Arcanine followed his commands, and soon a cloud of more dust was in the air. He was using his superior hearing and smelling senses to tell where Emberlynn's Weavile was. As the dust began to settle, Aeon shouted, "Flare Blitz, now!" Arcanine dashed through the dust, preforming the move spectacularly.

As both Pokemon collided, a bright light exploded outward, an after-effect of the two attacks.

Weavile flew back out of the dust and fell back onto the ground hard. It turns out, that Weavile was fast, but Arcanine was faster. Weavile was down and out. Emberlynn didn't expect her to be out so quickly. He truly was good. Emberlynn called Weavile back in to get a good rest. Now it was her Second Pokemon and surely this one would be enough to finish off two of his pokemon. She threw the pokeball out with grace as Houndoom appeared. He crouched low, growling and ready to battle.

"Looks like Emberlynn has called out Houndoom as her next partner. Can she finally get this man's arcanine with it?" the announcer was as annoying as ever. She usually ignored them and focused on her battle.

"Alright Houndoom, Finish off what Weavile tried to do! Go! Start this off with running straight at Arcanine. It doesn't matter if he dodges, just watch his feet!" Houndoom obeyed perfectly, charging at Arcanine as fast as he could and all the while watching Arcanine's feet.

Aeon narrowed his eyes, a smile playing at his lips. "Square your haunches, Arcanine, brace yourself, then, Flamethrower!" Arcanine did so, placing his paws firmly out as he opened his mouth and shot forth a row of fire, along with a roar to match. "Great job!" Aeon shouted, waiting to see what effect it had on Houndoom. The blood inside him was rushing through his ears, a symphony of the delicacy this match would require.

He knew that Emberlynn's strong Houndoom wouldn't go down with just Flamethrower, so he whispered to Arcanine, "Next few attacks, go three degrees off center." That calculation would take most of the damage off the Pokemon, but still make it look good enough. Arcanine barked his hearing it.

Houndoom watched, seeing the flamethrower coming at him. Still Houndoom watched his feet, seeing them move just slightly. It was barely noticable, but Houndoom followed it, jumping over the flamethrower and heading right at Arcanine. He looked back, barking at Emberlynn. She knew this. He always reported back, no matter what he was doing. If he was doing what she told him to do, his bark told her that Arcanine was up to something. She had no clue what, but she had to move Houndoom accordingly.

"Houndoom, now, Using Bite, trip up Arcanine!" Houndoom lunged for his feet, moving fast so as to not have Arcanine escape. Whether he moved fast enough though, Emberlynn couldn't tell.

"Houndoom, If you've got him, use Crunch on the back of his neck! Go!"

A skirmish could be heard. Whether Houndoom came out unscathed or not, he should still be able to fight.

Seeing what Houndoom was doing, Aeon called to Arcanine, "You know what to do!" And Arcanine did, ducking beneath the paws of the larger Houndoom and crawling forward on his paws. That, combined with Houndoom's momentum, was enough to push Arcanine clear. The whole thing lasted a fraction of a second, and Aeon barely even saw it. "Good job! Recover and turn around before Houndoom can."

Arcanine did, turning his attention onto Houndoom. "Do the same thing to Houndoom!" Arcanine rushed forward, leaping to Houndoom.

Emberlynn smirked. She knew that Arcanine would counter, knowing that his Arcanine was about as skilled as her Houndoom. She held her hand out.

"Now Houndoom, Toxic!" Houndoom sprayed toxic spray at Arcanine, it being way too close to avoid and he let Arcanine slam into him. Houndoom slipped himself from under Arcanine and backed up, admiring his work.

"Well done Houndoom! Now that Arcanine is down, use Crunch!" Houndoom lunged at Arcanine, moving in really fast. If Arcanine dodged this attack, then Emberlynn knew just what to do. Although, dodging Houndoom at this close of a range would take a skilled Pokemon with a huge amount of speed. She didn't put it past his Arcanine to pull something like that off though.

Knowing that Arcanine was losing energy, and that he couldn't dodge this, Aeon shouted, "Turn exactly 24 degrees to your left!" Doing this would take most of the hit away from the vital points of Arcanine. And give him enough room to twist out of Houndoom's grip.

Telling him to do so, Aeon then shouted, "Flamethrower, now!"

Arcanine sent forth a plume of fire Houndoom's direction, then pranced off, making the distance between the two Pokemon greater.

Houndoom took the plume of fire to the face and still stood. Fire wasn't going to damage him at all. In fact, it was going to make him stronger thanks to his flash fire ability. And Houndoom couldn't use any Fire attacks just in case Arcanine had the same ability. Emberlynn growled. THis was taking longer than she had planned. No matter. The people wanted a good show and they were going to get one. Emberlynn stretched her arm forth, calling out to Houndoom.

"Houndoom, stay there and don't move...Just calm yourself down and build up the power you've already gained with flash fire..."

Emberlynn wanted to test something. If Aeon figured out what she was planning, they could finish off her Houndoom before the poison finished off Arcanine.

Aeon narrowed his eyes. Something wasn't right. Emberlynn wouldn't just tell her Pokemon to do something like that if she wasn't planning something. Arcanine was losing energy, the Toxic taking effect.

Knowing he had to take action immediately, Aeon shouted, "Arcanine, Bulldoze!" It wasn't his best move, but it would be enough to slow Houndoom down and do some Ground damage. "Now, follow through with Hidden Power!" Arcanine had a water-type Hidden Power, and, collecting his energies, he shot the attack towards Houndoom.

Houndoom, with his increased speed and power, dodged the attacks easily, leading Arcanine on. He had to drag this out. If he did, the poision would do it's job and KO the Arcanine soon. Emberlynn smiled.

"Good Job Houndoom....Now...Crunch once more!"

Houndoom quickly charged at the Arcanine, sinking his fangs into the Arcanine's legs. He then quickly moved away, going back to Emberlynn's side. She waited to see what Aeon would do. It didnt look good for his Arcanine. But it also didn't look good for Houndoom. Yes, he was powered up more from Flash Fire, but he was weak...A couple more head on hits would knock him out.

"Arcanine!" Aeon called, "Speed Boost, now!" Arcanine powered up, his speed increasing. Aeon smiled. He was loving this! His first real fight in so long! "Bulldoze!" Arcanine rushed forwards, hitting Houndoom head on. "Get back back before he can retaliate." This would be a close match. Aeon seriously didn't know if he would come out on the bottom on purpose, if it really was a loss. With Speed Boost, Arcanine's speed would gradually increase, but would it quickly enough for Arcanine to deal the final move and hit Houndoom before he was lost to the poison?
