The sound of sustained gunfire had Onyx on edge, even when Marionette agreed to work with them. They both knew what they were rushing towards but it was inevitable. Whether they liked it or not, it was their only option. But at least this time around they'd be able to fight back. While he had never considered it before, the realization that the Blackbird could have very well been like them actually intrigued him. As they ran, he mulled over the creature's ability.
'Duplicate.' He echoed the creature's word of power in his head, but his gaze shifted to Marionette? How had she been able to pull a Contender from her dress only a few night's prior? What all was she really capable of? How did she even know so much? So many questions, but it wasn't the time for answers.
Eventually, they came upon Alina. The girl had been running towards them, having accepted the fact she wouldn't be any good in a fight. He didn't blame her - he couldn't, considering the fact he had spent so much time running away and hesitating. With a quick exchange of words, they headed back to where the Blackbird and Heidemarie had last been, only to find a mixture of blood staining the ground. When he had stabbed the Blackbird, had its blood been silver? The memory was hazy, but perhaps...
"Splitting up again may be our best option." His gaze was on the fire in the distance. "We don't know if Heidemarie killed the Blackbird and the fact remains we still have a giant hole consuming everything. If she didn't, it could be wounded. There's a chance we could finish it off, but we'd have to make a choice and stick to it. At least one of us with a power would have to go with whoever decides to head back if we do split up. I'm personally fine with checking out the area some more to see if there's something we may be missing, but I'll go with whatever you guys decide."
