Birthplace/World: Beijing, China. At age sixteen and the time of the outbreak, he was living in Seattle, Washington with his aunt, uncle, and cousin.
Occupation/School/Grade: At the time of the outbreak, he was in an American high school in the 10th grade/Sophomore year.
General Appearance:
Xun-Long has black hair that has grown to frame his cheeks, and dark dark brown eyes, almost black. He stands at 5'11" and weighs 190lbs. He has a scrawny figure, but ever since he started his survival journey after the outbreak he has a developed more muscle, particularly in his legs. His skin is tan and on his left bicep is a scar from when he was shot by a soldier who mistook him for an infected. He usually wears a loose shirt, sometimes rolling up the sleeves, torn jeans, a green Mexican hoody for cold, rainy days, and a pair of running shoes.
Strengths: High stamina and a fast runner, fluent Mandarin Chinese and verbal English. Observation and tracking, and stealth
Weaknesses: Reading and writing in English, which can be bad if he needs to communicate with other via words. Gets seasick easily, impatient and cynical of others
Talents: He was a MVP for his track and field team with his best events being relay and hurdles, scavenging, and basic first aid
Inabilities: reading and writing English, making him also very insecure. Heavy lifting, driving
Fears: Xun-Long is scared of losing the people he cares about, but he is also scared of making connections and caring for those people, especially with the risk of losing them
General Personality: Xun-Long is stubborn and comes off as rude when one first meets him. He is very cynical and is not easily trusting of others. He prefers to be alone most of the time, usually doing something like checking for zombie breaches, scouting, playing lookout. He is not a fan of change and will not accept new additions or new people who come and plan on staying or partnering up, however, if given time, he will learn to warm up and eventually accept the new person, even talking to them.
Inner Personality: While he comes off as rude and won't talk, he is actually just very shy. It's hard for him to communicate properly since he doesn't want to be seen as
someone who needs to go back to elementary school and take basic classes.
Secret: While this may not be so important now in the world they live in, Xun-Long is actually an illegal immigrant from China. His parents, thinking he would do better elsewhere, sent him to America. He was told that while in America he had to be really careful about what he said, tell nothing of himself, keep conversations short, stay under the shadows and hide, and from now on his name would be Avery.
Weapons and Personal Possessions: Simonov SKS carbine hunting rifle, a backpack with standard items such as extra magazines for his rifle, two water canteens, a few granola bars, matches, a section of the bag dedicated to knives he picks off the ground that he likes to tape to the end of his rifle to use as a bayonet while saving the real one as a back up blade so he doesn't risk losing it. On his left wrist is a brown suede braided bracelet with three green pony beads given to him by an old friend who he has not seen in a long time. He believes her to be dead, but it's not confirmed.
General History: Xun-Long was born in Beijing China to a young couple in their mid 20s. His mother was a housewife while his father was a technology communications specialist. For twelve years, Xun-Long lived in a tiny apartment in the middle of the capital with his parents, leading a very regular normal life. One day when he came home, a man was in his apartment with his parents. The man told him he was going to live in America from now on but his parents won't go with him. He wasn't going to just some random strangers though. He had a few relatives in America, a family he's never known he had, and they would be his family from now on. He was told of what he had to do from now on in his new life, and two months later he found himself in a strange land across the ocean. His aunt and uncle accepted him with open arms and they were a very nice, decent family. It took him a while to adjust but over the next four years he learned to love them as if they were his own parents. Attending school was a struggle as he was not fluent in English as his peers, which really hit his self-confidence. He was alone and had no friends to talk with, and his grades dropped significantly, leading him into depression. After some encouragement from his cousin, he joined the track team and found his strength. His skills awed the other students and this was the moment when things started to look up, when he started making friends. Even his coach became someone who he casually greeted in the hallways. After that, his cousin became his brother and best friend, and Xun-Long really looked up to him. With his help, and help from some of his teammates too, Xun-Long was able to drastically improve his speaking skills and his grades picked up significantly. He went out more, hung out with friends, and started to have fun and enjoy life in this strange new country that has now become his home.
Present Life: After the outbreak, Xun-Long lost his aunt, uncle, and many of his friends to the infected. Communication was lost and he is not sure if his parents are even alive. For a while it was just him, his cousin, and a few peers. They teamed up together to survive in this new world and slowly, one by one, his friends were lost. His cousin was the last to go, having been bitten and was on the verge of transforming. Xun-Long, out of request from his cousin, friend, and brother, killed him before that could happen. For a long time he wandered around until he was saved by a man who took him to his home base somewhere in Seattle. This man, who we will call Sam, taught Xun-Long everything he knew to survive. How to kill the infected and zombies, how to shoot and use a gun, how to search and scavenge for supplies and how to use his speedy skills. Later a new addition came in the form of a young Japanese woman named Minako whose previous occupation was a doctor. It took some time for him to accept her, but when he did Minako taught Xun-Long how to apply basic first aid. Next came another girl by the name of Charlotte, nicknamed Charlie. This girl was as old as Xun-Long and while he too took a long time to accept her, eventually he did and the two became very close. She even helped Xun-Long improve his English and taught him a tiny bit of French too. For the next two years this was his family. It was a strange, mixed and very unorthodox family, but a family all the same. One day, a Mammoth appeared and attacked the base. Minako died and Sam, Xun-Long, and Charlie escaped. They moved on the road, and then Sam went missing. Xun-Long and Charlie continued forward until they were attacked by a hoard of creatures with a mammoth in their midst. Charlie and Xun-Long got separated and all he has to remember her by is the suede bracelet she gave him with the three green pony beads.
