Atlantis: City of Death

Okay, only two fifths of the characters are in, and the little red bar says I needs players...Anyone know how to advertise?

I may be interested...what positions are available?

Well, there are still about twelve more people needed before anything can begin. I need another three crew members, but I'm debating about whether to make them NPC's. There are also nine passengers available. Maybe you can do a family or something.

Character Name: Quentin Rennalds
Gender: Male
Occupation: Journalist
Age: 23
General Appearance:

PhotographerAlt2.jpg

Current Goal/Purpose: Get the story of a lifetime.
General Personality: Enthusiastic about his job and the expedition hes sure that he'll need to ad drama to the story to make it harrowing. Not above "embellishing" his stories or outright spying to get the details he needs. When on the job (and he always is) he never goes anywhere without his waterproof camera and voice recorder.

General History: Barely out of college hes looking for the story that will make him famous and secure his career for the rest of his life. His whole life hes been searching for things he shouldn't know about and writing storied about them. Raised by a single mother he still owes the government for his student loans wich just ads to his drive to succeed.

(i'll make the mechanic later)

Excellent...a family eh? *Starts drawing out the schematics*

Look forward to seeing it, Jack.
Vay, don't think he'll need to embellish much. I give okay, looking forward to seeing your mechanic, too. I may post my own third character wednesday.

Character Name: Jochen Swarts
Gender: Male
Occupation: Mechanic (crew)
Age: 34
General Appearance:

977c3cac45e7864c48b81667cace.jpeg

Current Goal/Purpose: To keep the boat going. Its a living. Also a little adventure would be nice.
General Personality: Typical little brother Jochen is slightly withdrawn and prefers to do the work himself though he'll return any friendship shown him. Not a great speaker especially in English he spends most of his free time in his cabin reading old maritime novels.

General History: From a poor background in southern Sweden Jochen followed the easiest path into the family trade of boat repair. Able to overhaul an engine by 15 he has a welcome addition to the family business. The youngest of 5 he became restless with life and found a job on an outbound ship, long story short this is not his first trip out into the blue water nor is this his first crew.

Good...You seem to have forgotten personality, though. Unless you aren't finished.

Nah, that's just standard for Vay's characters.

Hurr hurr.

Yes, a cameraman would be good and, no, I don't care how dramatic it is, eating babies is a serious no-no.
Unless they're demon cannibal babies. Actually, eating demon cannibal babies would probably be worse, since you don't want to eat their evil. So especially not demon cannibal babies.

Character Name: Terrance Dustry
Gender: male
Occupation: Archeologist/dating specialist
Age: 28
General Appearance: The man is of an average height, with dark brown hair. He usually wears a vest, just a leather jacket with its sleeves cut off, over a white button shirt. His eyes are a brownish green. He usually wears jeans because he likes to get close to whatever he's sampling.
Current Goal/Purpose: See this "island of horrors" for himself.
General Personality: Skeptic. Usually searches for the most rational explanation, even where one simply does not exist. He likes to think of himself as open-minded, though others may disagree. He won't believe something without an overwhelming tide of evidence.
General History: Both of his parents hailed from Greece, and they taught him much of the language. He was fascinated by his heritage, which is what got him started in archeology. That and Indiana Jones movies. He also loved the old greek myths, particularly the one about Atlantis, a city supposedly built by people who were half men, half gods. He never believed the myth, but he did keep a faint hope that the city would be real. So sure enough, when he heard that the captain had instructions to the Lost City, he went straight over. In a sense, he's the one responsible for this little voyage happening.

Character Name: Keith Richards
Gender: Male
Occupation: Cameraman
Age: 23
General Appearance:
Jeff_render.jpg

Current Goal/Purpose: Doing his job, and not getting eaten, or falling prey to the disaster that ALWAYS befalls the cameraman in the horror movies.
General Personality: Amiable enough, Keith is pretty laid back. Enjoys a beer, rock and roll, maybe even some pool. Not a fan of seamonsters.
General History:

Not much to say about me, I guess. Born in Los Angeles, sucked in school, sucked at sports. three or four friends. I couldn't draw for shit, write for shit. I had no toys, Dad was a drunkard. Mom was nice, but always busy. I was an only child, pretty lonely. My first experience with a camera was taking pictures with Dad's new digital one. It was pretty fun, but the real reason I got into film, it was easy. A Bachelors in English, a.k.a bullshit your way through college with the easiest courses, find a hobby and make a living off it. That's what I did.

Okay, but if you're worried about the supposed horror movie tradition of cameramen getting killed, you may want a couple other characters. I say yes to this one.

*pumps arm* YUSS!

I'm gonna try my best to stay alive, as a twist on the usual, but a sea monster threatens, the main characters need a diversion, Jeff will honorably make him self a target by fleeing in terror. I'm considering a longer lived(hopefully) girlfriend/mother/brother, dependig on how many more people join.

I don't think there will be that many more. We only need maybe another four players (unless everyone wants the boat to be bigger), so I feel this may get started soon...Crap. How am I gonna start this?

Let's see...I'm waiting on Jack...and Kitsune said she was going to join, but I haven't heard anything from her, so I guess not...Maybe I can make the number 25 instead of twenty.

I know I'm still responding to every single post (some not even so!) addressed to me, but Iwaku is just that cool! *throws arms up in air for emphasis*

I'll stick with just Jeff, and try to stay alive. If I die, oh well, I'll have completed my first roleplay!
