TL;DR: More fighting!

Knell just gritted her teeth as the skeleton crumbled into dust before preparing some hexes. Her courage faltered when she saw she was utterly surrounded. "Ah-" She hissed as she was slashed at and hit with a spear, just smacking against her cheek before going right past her ear. With that in mind, she began to run, back to her comrades while dodging and emitting hexes wherever she went at the horde. While she could feel that power draining, she was not going to remain in the area if she was going to be utterly surrounded.

Huffing, the Apostle was able to reach the other fighters, trembling a bit but remaining firm in her resolve. "Alright, alright..." she breathed as she glanced back for a moment, firing off a hex. It was probably safer to stay in the group rather than go off on her own, she didn't want to be attacked at the moment, nope. Her gaze flickered to each of her comrades as she readied a bit of weakened magic at her disposal. "I'm not sure...if you all would follow...so..." she said through gritted teeth, eyes trained on the horde as she trembled. There was no way they could defeat all of them, right? How...?

TLDR: With Llawr's use of Chaos, Jeremiah feels better- good enough to join the fight.

It was if by magic- one second he could barely see in front of him- the next, his pain had lessened to a manageable amount. Wait a minute- it had been by magic, Not Althea's healing dust, as he could see that she was being particularly stingy with it, but someone else. He felt more tough, and a little like he could do anything. Now, he took his hand off of the rock and reached into the sheathe at his belt, pulling out his second knife before joining the fray.

As he moved closer, a space in the front line opened up as if waiting for him specifically as Sorod launched himself into battle. He was sure that fighting was going to aggravate the wounds in his head, but it didn't matter, as he had to fight and help his fellow Apostles. Jeremiah quickly slotted himself into that space, always ready for a good fight. His predator rose up within him, and he joined the battle using his knives to cut down whatever skeleton came in his path. Sure, he wanted to help, but he wasn't strong enough to flip a whole freaking cart.

Soon enough, skeletons came crashing towards the new front line. As they approached him, Jeremiah let out a loud hum laced with Chaos- just a taste to see if the skeleton would fall to his magic- turning against their master and thus working for him . Maybe he could use his voice to turn the tide of the battle. He wanted to save his voice, but also wanted his options to be more than hacking and slashing. If it did not react to his magic the way he wanted it to, then he would slash out, using his knife to find the chinks in the armor to cut away the Chaos holding it together.

TLDR:
- Althea casts Healing Orb and places 3 at the minecart
- She then helps Diana to help up Zayne and Ren

Seeing that everyone was up there were several things to take into account:

1) Zombies are pouring out of all three mineshafts
2) Ren and Zayne were dangling off of a chasm and Diana was trying to help them

Focusing her healing energies, three Healing orbs about the size of apples appeared in Althea's hands. Althea placed the orbs on top of the minecart and called out to everyone "Hey! Break these orbs to heal quickly. I'm going to help Diana!"

Hopefully they'll think to use the minecart while they're at it she thought, remembering what Shurik said.

Running over to Diana, Althea grabbed hold of the massive dandelion and called down to her patients.

"Grab hold and we'll help you up!"

The sounds of combat were getting more and more intense, and Sorod especially was taking a real beating. She needed to help as soon as she could, and the horde would only get worse when the zombies got past the cave entrances...

TLDR:
  • Lilirel does what Sorod asks of her.
  • She manages to catch a glimpse of some of Sorod's infernal runes.
  • Instead of throwing the mine cart she places it on the track and kicks it down the tunnel.
  • Lilirel turns her attention to the central tunnel and stands by Shurik to fend off as many undead as she can while the others focus on the left tunnel.

YY53pcY.png

Everyone had eventually got to their feet and were preparing for what was to come. Words were flying through the air, plans coming together in how to defeat this horde. As Stella spoke Lily looked a her. What she had mentioned made sense, this event didn't necessarily seem like the result of a chaos storm but there was a chance that it was. Finding the source of the undead regardless, would certainly be beneficial. Hopefully it was something that the Apostle's could deal with swiftly. These mines were rather confining and tight, it would be difficult to fight them off with large weapons. Keeping her attention on the front lines Lilirel watched everyone move about.

Sorod's words rang loud and clear as he spoke up. The glow of the chaos fueled runes across his form growing brighter as she caught them shifting. "Okay little one. You can stay here but I need you to hold on." Lily spoke quietly as she sheathed her blade and moved towards the closest mine cart. Glancing back towards the changing front line, as Knell retreated and Jerimiah moved up, Lilirel caught a better look at some of the runes that had formed on Sorod. Symbols she recognized.

Upon rounded eyes and thickened brow,
Her crown of glass sparkled in colors aglow.

Turning her attention to the action at hand Lilirel heaved the cart up with a grunt before turning towards the left tunnel. Stomping her way to and through the front line, she lined the wheels with the track. With an exhale she took just a moment to stare down the tunnel before bringing her foot up and kicking the cart forward. Stepping back slightly she glanced towards Sorod, her eyes shifting to the same segment of runes.

Stained of tears and sadness deep,
A broken queen stumbles to sleep.

Patting him on the back she continued moving backwards, giving the golem space to charge forward as he had prepared for. Clenching her jaw, Lilirel once again drew her sword, taking hold of it with both hands this time, she turned her attention towards the center tunnel. Sorod surely had the left tunnel handled. With Valeria and Jerimiah aimed in that direction she decided that perhaps Shurik shouldn't be left alone to deal with two tunnels overflowing with the undead.

TL;DR
> Tells Ren that the answers they seek might be below so he debates on heading down deeper.
> Notices the stem and soon finds Llawr with relief.
> Asks Llawr what's going on above and questions both Ren and him whether they should head down further since if what they need to know is down below, getting down from the ledge is going to be harder than where they are now.
_____________________________________

Hanging on the entire time with his fist dug into the rockface of the chasm to keep himself from falling further down into the seemingly endless abyss, Zayne questioned his choices on whether or not he should simply descend further or attempt to climb back up towards the top to see if he could assist the other Apostles on whatever was going on. Overhearing the commotion going on above, it wasn't until the sight of something or someone descending down rapidly towards him that he would arch a brow; finding out it was actually Ren who had also fallen towards him, he'd only shake his head before directing his gaze back down at the darkness below. "Hm, it sounds there the others have their hands full up above...Though, with everyone up there, they should be alright. I was thinking of going down to the bottom of this place, maybe there are more answers below about what happened here?" In the midst of his response to her, the sudden rush of energy rushing through his body had Zayne clench his left fist several times just to notice the change from when he had dropped into the chasm until now. "Huh, Well..I won't complain..."

Moments after answering Ren, the sight of something dangling beside the two soon interrupted his thoughts of heading further down the chasm. Igniting the flame in his left hand brighter just to get a better view of what was before him; it had appeared to had been the stem of some sort of plant and from what it sounded like, another Apostle had sent this down in hopes to help him and Ren climb back up.

Before he could so much as answer whoever was helping them from above, a familiar presence soon made their way down the stem; Llawr. Seeing him descend down the stem was at least some relief to know that the others must've been okay even with all the commotion going on above. "What's going on up there, Llawr?...It doesn't sound like anything good.." Questioning the male, he extended his left hand to reach for the stem; making sure his flames were at a passive so that he would not end up burning the entire thing just from touching it. "Call it a guess, or whatever...But For some reason, I feel like something is down there.."

After grasping a hold of the stem, yet another voice called out to those down below as he only gazed up the darkness from where the trio were compared to that of the top. "What do you think Ren, Llawr?...If we go back up, I understand that we can help whatever is going on up there; but If the answers we're seeking are down here..It's not going to be an easy task going down this far let alone getting to the bottom from where we are already." Questioning the two that were still down with him, if they were to agree he would see about descending further, though if not he wouldn't argue and simply ascend to the ledge above to assist in dealing with whatever was up there.

TL;DR: Payne defends against the undead, allowing time to take in their strategy. He tries to communicate with them, using soulspeak.

Payne fell hard as anyone else did with the mine-carts. The shock of the impact almost forced him to release his transformation. But he held on. Grabbing his sword and shield off the ground, Payne rose as the undead were upon him.

Immediately Payne went on the defensive. There was no telling what these creatures may be capable of, better to be patient. Defend himself. Learn their patterns. Their strengths and weaknesses. Life in the swamp was nothing but patient. He had waited weeks, even months between some unlucky soul wandering into his swamp. Ever patient.

Pushing back to the guard of another undead warrior, he began to wonder if the undead spoke soulspeak. The only beings he had known to speak it were the souls of the dead, and other Vodyanoy. Would the undead as well understand the muttering language of the soul? Taking in a breath he looked the warrior dead in the eyes and spoke:

"Undead warrior. Why do you fight us? Why are you here?"

TLDR: Extensive fight scene at the left tunnel. Valeria heeds Sorod's words and falls back behind to await his charge.

The decision was made. To Valeria's left the black chasm fed her sight, a useful tool for disposing the undead without congesting the area. With 2 approaching from the front. The silver, curved sword slashed at the exposed joint of the arm, metal screeched at the collision of sharp edge meeting plate. The arm was Severed from the body. Next the head was removed, leaving a headless warrior to fall. With a touch of grace, and a pivot of the body her sword met its target as she stepped over another corpse. The pale green light faded from the undead warrior, leaving only a ghoulish corpse.
With the next wave, she found herself pushed close to the edge. Small droplets of rock chattered off from the edge from the fighting above. Falling into the black chasm below. A warrior of the undead soon followed. As she grabbed a hold of the collar, and sent the warrior over her shoulder to fall silently. The light from the undead warrior faded, as only its eyes were caught a glimpse in the darkness. Until nothing remained. Her count had come to eight, prevailed by her unique style of fighting. Acrobatic, swift and elegant. Her body moved with fluidity, timed footsteps.

At Sorod's words, Valeria pushed harder towards the left tunnel. Shortly following the cart propelled towards the tunnel by Lirilel. To further her advance a rune was placed on the one of the undead warriors chest. Lrepa the push rune. Valeria charged towards the undead and used him as a step. The rune activated and pushed her over the heads of several undead, her body somersaulted in mid air before landing between more undead. Her cape wrapped around her crouching form, as she struck at the legs of the nearby undead and took down a few more in a flurry of strikes. Valeria remained at the side, thinning the line as she waited for Sorod to charge forward so that she could follow behind. The Undead left behind were greeted by a more potent rune. Prepa placed at the edge so that those she missed would be sent over the edge.

TL;DR

  • Shurik feels Llawr's magic take hold and hears Sorod's request to clear him a path
  • Shurik enters his Fugue State with "Clear a Path" As his command.
  • Shurik goes full speed ahead into the enemy line to complete his command.
Shurik Plate 500.png

Llawr's magic took hold in Shurik just as he heard the suggestion from the iron one and Shurik, just about to swing his sword once more stopped and laughed to himself. His grin spread wider as he stepped back. "Finally, an idea I can use." Shurik looked to the people on either side of him and spoke to Lilirel and Jeremiah "See you guys on the other side." He lifted his blade so it pointed straight up, closed his eyes, and took in a deep breath. He simply said "Clear the left for Sorod." He released his breath and his sword arm fell down and brought the blade down with it. The sword crashed into the ground, but his fingers gripped deeper into the handle. Shurik folded forward and finally opened his eyes, the pupils had changed and the purple hues in his iris now glowed.

Fugue State Eyes.jpg

Before he could be replied to, Shurik ran full tilt at the left flank of the undead, crashing himself into the enemy shoulder first, his sword dragging and cutting the rock behind him. Once Shurik was as deep as he could go in the monster lines, he spun his body to the right and sent a cleaving slash in a 360 degree spin with more force than before. As he came full circle, Shurik let out a deep, primal roar towards the enemy and moved toward the rest with single minded determination.

TLDR:
-
Giles prepares to defend the the right path
-Shoots a few shells into the right path to make some sand
-Uses 'Desperado's howl' in the right tunnel
-Prepares another explosion for the right path

Everyone had already jumped into action except for Giles. He could've fell back and helped the other Apostles with their recovery but it seemed that they were in good hands. Sorod and his crew over at the left path had no problem clearing the horde, Giles gulped, if he had knew the Golem was this powerful he'd never tease him. Shurik on the other hand, was clearing a path all on his lonesome. Giles chuckled softly, if he had known his party was filled with badasses he would've just laid back and let them do all the fighting.

However, there was still one path that was unaccounted for and Giles quickly jumped into action. He pointed his trusty revolver towards the skeletons on the right and began to unload it's entire cylinder. As the shells made contact with anything in their way, they ruptured into large bursts of sand that settled onto the floor. With one finger Giles guided the sand behind the first 'line' of skeletons, He slowly made his hand into a fist as the sand began to concentrate into a small floating orb. As the orb filled with the remainder of the sand, it started to shake violently as it started to approach it's maximum density.

With one quick motion, Giles forms a fist and the orb of sand violently explodes, sending a large blast down the right tunnel whilst releasing sand out the entrance. Giles stood patiently, anticipating the fatigue from using such a technique but he seemed fine. He looked down at his palms, confusedly. "The hell?" he muttered.

He turned his head back to the Apostles behind him before looking back down to his hands, "Must've been that Ll-aw-r boy, or whatever his name is".
He looked up to the right tunnel and continued, "Looks like I got one more in meh'" he chuckled as he began to move the sand deeper into the tunnel.

TooLongDidn'tRead: Sorod asks others to step aside, because he's CHARGING! M-M-METEOR RUSH!

Seeing everyone spring into action, Sorod slowly started to take steps back, still hefting the shield to make sure the skeletons wouldn't get a strike at him. His fiery skin waned and waxed, the designs making a turbulent mix of yellow, red, and orange; from his chest, the flaming hands crawled out and gripped at his arms, increasing the stability of his already terrifying hold. Each step made the ground rumble further, echoing louder than even the battlefield as cracks continued to follow in his wake. With his 5th step, he'll wait for everyone to finish their attacks, watching them clear and control the crowds of skeletons with their supernatural abilities. This is when Apostles truly let their powers shine, when the combination of variation brings forth the motion; destruction and salvation are two sides of the same coin, and Apostles flipped that coin with the intention to commit to the outcome. Right now though, it seems they've chosen Destruction, and it shall be wrought upon their foes.

"SO-CLEAR THE WAY-ROD!"

He took his first step, and with barely any power, it already rumbled with the intensity of distant thunder. He took his second step, at this point, he'd expect his companions to move aside now, because the rumbling sound only became even stronger. He took his third step, and that's when he started to put his strength in his step, that alone shattered the portion of stone under him, the combined power of his weight and strength easily destroying mundane materials. He took his fourth step, now he's leaned himself forward to put more power behind the shield; the shield face is now a warping vortex of yellow and red, it spun like a whirlpool of inferno and hellfire, with some visages of the consumed appearing in its core. He took his fifth step, and that's when the cavalry arrived.

"SO-CHARGE-ROD!"

He charged forward, using the momentum he built up to rush forward, and rip asunder the foes on the left path.

TL;DR: Stella was happy that Sorod had called her wise, and followed Sorod's plan. She also casted a bigger light dome that blocked off the middle and right path from the undead so that everyone could quickly leave to the left.

Stella had smiled when she heard what Sorod had said, feeling the fear disappear slightly. It felt nice to have such an amazing team by her side, working together so well even under these dire circumstances. She saw Lilirel immediately follow what Sorod had mentioned, and soon the minecraft was kicked down the left tunnel, the screeching of the wheels loud enough to cause her ears to ring. Stella also heard Althea's voice from behind and saw the three healing orbs, nodding thanks to Althea in return.

Stella stayed behind with her orb of light, staying defensive while she watched the lanes being cleared. Right then, a thought appeared in her mind, one that could possibly make their journey down the left lane much easier. The undead at the left lane began to lessen, and Stella knew this was the perfect time to begin her spell. She put her pocket knife back, and moved to her location while quickly lifting both her hands.

Following Sorod and his countdown, she stood right in the middle of the entire group, and right as Sorod charged down the left tunnel, she finished her spell, a ray of light bursted from her hands forming a light dome that surrounded the party. It was much bigger than before, as she had to make sure that the undead from the middle and right tunnel wouldn't be able to follow them down the left. She took a deep breath and shouted once again as loud as she could. "My light dome will help block the other undead! Quickly! Follow Sorod down the left tunnel!" Stella had made it so that any of her allies could pass through the dome with ease while the enemies wouldn't be able to do so. She kept her arms up, keeping the dome for as long as she needed for everyone. She hoped they would decide quick however, for she didn't want to waste too much energy on the dome and wanted people to evacuate as soon as possible.

Tl;DR: Ren says to go down, because there's a lot of apostles up there already
Ren listened to Zayne, nodding about that. There wasn't much more she could add to up there, and if there was any huge problems... but there was Little Mage calling for them to join the group up there, and Diana made that rope...

"Down. I can ice for grabbing, but ice slippery. Not good, but can help?"

Ren knew that their group could handle the whatever was up there on their own, and it sounded like it was in hand, at least.

She created a large ice spike for her to stand on, carefully lowering down onto it so that she wasn't dangling by her ice claws. She heaved a sigh of relief at being able to let go. She gently tried to push the vine slash rope towards Zayne, so that he could get to a less dangerous grasp on the rock face.

"Up there sounds worse than down here. If solve problem for Mayer, then we solve problems for everyone."

TL;DR:
-Labra leaves Lilirel to do her stuff and lets go of the spell making them invisible to the others so they can now be seen
-She looks around then goes to find the foreman
-She thinks he's alright, but asks for help from Althea
Labra nodded once at Lilirel's words and slid off her shoulder, landing on the ground with a quiet grunt and a small poof of rock-dust. She saw Lilirel pick up a mine cart, then kick it down the left track, then noticed that some of her energy was connected to her. Hm.... Oh! I still have the spell on her! Should I leave it going or...Nope. It's taking energy. Moon's Slumber, let their eyes open and let us be seen. We have heeded your protectiveness well. Thank you, Moon Goddess. She glanced one more time at the woman as she sent a small prayer to her goddess. Wow, she's strong. The small Imp turned away and looked around to see what people were doing. She saw Sorod preparing to move down the left tunnel, Lilirel was standing in the middle-ish with her sword out, Diana and Althea were by the chasm, where Labra could sense three of the Apostles in the chasm, and Shurik was charging down the left path. She couldn't see the others from where she was standing, but could sense everyone's presence, so they were alive. That was good.
Labra turned away and looked for the foreman, as the least she could do was protect him the best she could. She found him around the curve of a wall, slightly hidden with his helmet light shining on him. She quickly scampered towards him, almost tripping on a discarded tool. She let out a small noise of protest and shook a small fist at it. The tool just lay there as she ran towards the foreman and checked him over. His breathing was slightly ragged, but she could hear no rattle, which meant his lungs were still in good condition. She felt him over for broken bones, but couldn't tell if there were any. The small girl poked her head back around the corner and glanced around for the healer and saw her by the chasm with the flower lady.
"Hey! Althea! Little help please!" Labra shouted, trying to catch the healer's attention. She turned back to the foreman and watched his face with a worried expression.

The Top Battle

The party's front line held for a time, but the members quickly dispersed to the left tunnel and opted to take the fight to the monsters rather than let them continue to assault them where they stood. While Labra's poison did little against the undead, Lilirel hurling the vial was effective enough to cave one of the skeleton's skulls in. The party would then witness, in the light cast by Stella, a wrecked kart get righted and set on rickety rails all by itself. Kicked with enough force to travel a ways toward the left tunnel, the kart was promptly derailed and smashed into the stone around the tunnel's entrance. The rails were too damaged to use. Not to be deterred, Shurik was able to cleave some of the undead getting in the way and further aid Sorod's plan. With the way mostly clear, Sorod was able to thunder up to the tunnel mouth nearly unopposed and stood as a nearly impassable wall ahead of the party.

Meanwhile, the right passage wasn't guarded at all save for a lone Payne. The undead did not speak with him with words as much as their corrupted steel and bone. Giles was a poor shot at the moment and made for poor backup, however, that was just the opener. Some moments later, a massive, sandy blast rocked the area and echoed down the right passage. Dozens of skeletons were dusted, leaving nothing but the sand and the questionable stability of the mine ceiling behind.

With the right clear for the moment and the left stopped up by Sorod, the center was all that remained, but the undead soldiers poured out without end. What remained of the front line protecting those by the edge were at risk of being overran, but fortunately, Stella's quick thinking and dome of light greatly impeded the flow of the opposing legion. While a few did manage to break through the barrier, it was slow going and left the skeletons vulnerable to reprisal before they could attack again, especially those weakened by Knell's hexes. However, the dome would only slow them down and would eventually fail completely or need lowered.

Jeremiah's chaos was able to charm one of the skeletons under his control. Separated by the light barrier, Jeremiah could look out on the skeleton as it no longer struggled and merely stared listlessly.

The tunnels beyond the central chamber remained dark save for the glowing auras of their approaching enemies. The end of the legion did not yet seem to be in sight. The tunnels narrowed to a point that swinging big bodies or large weapons through would be difficult. Additionally, Valeria disappeared at some point during the fight.

The Rock Face

While Ren's energy ticked down maintaining her ice that kept her from falling, Zayne was uncomfortably anchored for the moment. Llawr, however, was nearly dropped. Supported by only Diana up above, the flower was nearly jerked out of her hands by Llawr's shenanigans as he dangled by it. Even with Althea's help, it was still a wonder if the girls would be able to support much weight for long even assuming the flower held together from the abuse. On the plus side, everyone seemed to be benefiting from Llawr's buff to their defenses.

Foreman, when checked by Labra, was still breathing and appeared to just be knocked out. If he was left behind, there was no guaranteeing his safety, but the danger all around the Apostles would likely not let up until they resolved the source of their strife.

Below them all were unknown depths that none could see the bottom of. Likely formed by a natural cave system, the chasm did not have the telltale signs of digging that shaped several of the tunnels and passages seen so far. Aside from the smells of death, dirt, and stone, there was little to note. Same goes visually.

TLDR
- Althea leaves Diana with some wisdom before leaving the ledge
- She tosses a Healing orb towards Labra
- She ties up the three zombies going for Sorod and Shurik and stakes them

While Diana and Althea held the dandelion for support, those below didn't seem that interested in grabbing hold. In fact, a couple of them seemed interested in exploring the seemingly endless chasm below. Letting out a huff, Althea let go and looked at the situation around her. Labra was calling to her for aid with the miner, and the foreward and right path were crawling with more and more undead. Looking down to Diana, Althea made a hypothesis.

"If this is a dandelion, then why don't you grow the roots out? They've got really tough ones, even able to pierce stone!"

With her two scents thrown Althea ran back to the mine cart, grabbed one of the Healing Orbs, and rolled it towards Labra for her to use on the miner. She was prepared to fight the undead beside it, but Jeremiah seemed to have it under control, so she turned her attention elsewhere. Althea let out a gasp as it seemed that some zombies were about to flank Sorod and Shurik, so Althea pulled out the bear-trap that was attached to a length of chain and ran at them.

Just as she had predicted, the undead bodies barely flinched as she flung the trap into the farthest ones flesh, but that wasn't the plan right now. Now that she had an anchor on one of them, she ran around the group of three zombies, forcing the chain around their ankles and making them fall. Once they hit the dirt, Althea digged into her backpack and produced a hammer and tent stakes, and proceeded to pound the stakes into the zombies heads one by one. A wicked smile returned to Althea's face with each pound, and she looked at the other zombies with a wicked glee.

"No one hurts my patients while I'm around..."

TL:DR: diana responds to the help of friends gratefully, tries her berry best. grows roots into ground to help with weight and continues mending stem every once and a while, kinda panicking a little bit

Diana swiftly turned to face Llawr as soon as he mentioned his nickname for her. She took his instruction with obedient silence and nodding, only speaking when he began to climb swiftly down the homemade rope.

"Be careful, ok?" she shouted, the worry lines between her eyebrows increasing as she watched her young friend prepare to join the other two in the cavern. The bud was more than half her size and quite heavy, but that didn't change the fact that it and Diana almost tumbled off the cliff when he slid nimbly down the vine,

Diana accepted Althea's aid gratefully, answering with a wide smile despite the ginger's exhaustion. The two clutched onto the bud carefully, using Llawr's affinity to strengthen them. But his blessing wouldn't do Diana's work for her. She could feel her muscles numb by the moments while her affinity was slowly draining due to constantly knitting the plant fibers back together if they began to tear. She could barely hold up Llawr, let alone a rescuee or two.

Althea's proposition to grow roots into the ground filled Diana with relief. Why hadn't she thought of that earlier? Althea suddenly left to aid her friends in combat, and the panic began to slowly rise in the young ginger once more as the muscle tension increased. She tried channeling that panic towards the roots that were slowly but surely growing from the stem that remained on the rocky surface and into the stony ground. It was difficult, but she managed to weave and break the thick roots through the hard floor. She said a quick prayer before lessening the amount of strength she was using on holding the flower and letting the roots take the bulk of the weight.

To her relief, it stayed. For now. Diana made a mental note to thank Althea for the idea later. The others should be returning soon, right? Diana looked over the edge and found that the others had barely moved towards rescue. In fact, they seemed to be descending.

The sweat forming on Diana's forehead dripped onto the fabric of her skirt. She was kneeling down by the edge with one hand on the stem in order to continue fortifying it with her affinity while glancing down the cavern every moment or so to check for updates on their decision to descend or ascend. They'd have to choose fast, though, for the Chaos inside her was depleting quickly.

TL;DR: Labra accepts the orb, successfully avoiding the tool, healed the foreman(he's still out like a doused torch), she casts Hidden Moon on him, then settles in to wait for him to wake up, so that she could try and get him to saftey, as she sucks at fighting underground during the day, when she's supposed to be asleep. She will still help if needed and is ready to jump in, though.
Labra heard a faint rolling sound and looked up from where she was kneeling by the foreman. A small Healing orb was rolling across the ground
towards her. She looked at the orb, then at the foreman, then at the orb again. The horned Imp sighed and darted out from her cover, quickly scooping up the orb in her sleeve-covered arms, shouting a random thank you at the healer, and running back to the foreman, dodging skeletons and other Apostles in the way, and successfully jumping over the discarded tool.
Hah! Now to figure out what to do with the orb... She looked at the orb, turning it over in her hands as her eyes glazed over, thinking back to what the healer had told the group to do with the orbs.
So I just break it on the foreman? Wouldn't that hurt him? But I don't really have that much of a choice, now do I? Labra sighed and knelt by the foreman, carefully holding the orb. She looked it over one more time, then stood back up and took a dozen steps back. She threw the orb at the foreman, cracking it open on his head. She winced at the thud it made as it hit his forehead and cracked open. She watched while the Healing Chaos inside the orb did it's work on the foreman. She quickly went back to his side and put her hooded head near his chest again, listening to his breathing settle and his body relax.
A dull cracking noise made her head dart up and stare around the wall's curve. She saw the flower lady's flower digging it's roots into the rock and smiled slightly. That was smart. Turning back to the foreman, she sighed and leaned up against the wall beside him, slighly tense, with her eyes trained on the battle happening around the curve. She glanced back at the foreman, but he didn't stir from his sleep, so the young girl blew out a breath and decided to risk a small portion of her energy and cast Hidden Moon on the foreman to sheild him from prying eyes.
Moon behind the clouds, Moon behind a hill, hide this dwarf like your child, and see him through to saftey. Hidden Moon, activate. The absence of energy in her core left her a bit winded, but it quickly disappeared before the slow draining of her energy left a constant warning in the back of her mind. Still objects were easier to hide then moving objects. I don't think Mr.Mayor would be happy if we killed his foreman. She crouched by the dwarf's side and kept an eye on the battle, waiting to see if she could help anywhere. The only job she thought of was being a distraction, which she was great at doing.

TLDR: Jeremiah charms more skeletons and tries to hold the center line by himself.

IT was in an instant- that Valeria was there, and now, she wasn't, a newly made corpse on the ground. Shit, that left him by himself against a horde of the undead, and he had no time to absorb that fact. He did have two things going for him- the undead he had charmed meant that he could use his power, and the barrier that had sprung up between him and the undead. Jeremiah went to the edge of the barrier, waiting for it's inevitable fall- taking the time to stab and slice at the undead, downing them as best as he could through the barrier. Llwar had made him dexterous, which only aided in stabbing more and more of the undead while slipping away from their answering attacks.

When the barrier finally fell, he sang a beautiful low note at the undead still alive in front of him- grabbing a reasonably sized group of skeletons within earshot, wresting control from their master in an instant.
"DEFEND ME AND THE CENTRAL TUNNEL!" Jeremiah commanded in perfect pitch, his song ringing out beautiful, pure, and laced with Chaos. The undead trapped within his power would turn to face the onslaught, joining the already charmed soldier to form a squad of at least 10 skeletal undead. If those he had turned were to fall, he would call on another squad to defend him and the tunnel, of course heavily contributing all the while hoping for some help sooner or later.

TL;DR - Payne decides to not kill everyone with a chaos croak, and instead activates Water Armor. Continues to defend the right front.

Taking a breath at the brief reprieve the burst of sand had offered, Payne considered his options. The skeletons didn't seem extremely stable, so a good chaos croak in such a tight environment would likely be very effective, provided the mine didn't collapse in on the Apostles in the process. A last resort then, Payne thought.

Seeing as the other Apostles were making their charge to the left, and the center remained defended, Payne decided he to continue holding the right front. The other apostles were doing their part. He would do his.

With that intention in mind, he gathered chaos within himself and began to form Water Armor over himself. He moved closer to the mouth of the tunnel. If he kept them bottle-necked in there, they would have less room to overwhelm him with.

TL;DR
  • Shurik wakes up from Fugue as Sorod makes it to the left tunnel.
  • Shurik Calls for the Apostles to Move to the left tunnel behind Sorod
  • He moves over to Diana and calls for the ones on the chasm wall to make a choice, Up or down.
  • He provides some cover fire towards the central tunnel to help Jeremiah.

As Shurik pushed through his cleave and felt the undead under his blade, he felt the thundering roar of Sorod's charge. The moment Sorod crossed the threshold of the left tunnel, Shurik's eyes faded and his pupils returned to normal as he suddenly snapped out of his fugue state. After he woke up, Shurik's vision was dim for a few moments before he adjusted and righted himself. As he adjusted to once more being in control, He was nearly flanked by three of the undead but was saved by Althea and her… bear…trap? Shurik tilted his head as the small one drove a stake into the head of three skeletons with a smile and sent them out of the realm of the living. Shurik, surprised to be called a patient nodded to Althea to state his thanks before making a mental note to not mess with the small ones. He quickly prepared himself to defend and checked back on Sorod, who was now nearly blocking the left tunnel with his mass. "Another one in the bag" Shurik commented to himself.

Shurik scanned the battlefield and got a feel for the situation before deciding where he was most needed. Shurik noticed that everyone had become spread thin and there was someone still by the chasm. He growled under his breath and looked to Sorod's push into the tunnel. He once again looked back to everyone else before bellowing to everyone. "Everyone, move to behind Sorod into the left tunnel! We can funnel them easier that way."

With his voice still echoing off the walls, Shurik dashed towards the edge of the chasm, swiping to cut down any skeletons that got in his way and skidded to a stop next to the Apostle holding the dandelion. Shurik looked over the edge and made one comment. "Up or down, Make your choice quick." He turned to Diana and stared for a moment before speaking, "Will you be able to make it to the left tunnel on your own once we move?" Shurik let his sword set against the rock as he equipped his hand crossbow to his metal arm and checked the spell stored in his cannon as he waited for the answer.

Whether affirmed or denied that she could, Shurik turned his attention to the north tunnel. He provided some ranged support from his position, firing a round of bolts that arced over Jeremiah's created front line and into the tunnel itself, hoping to thin the herd as they moved forward.
