Right, what's the male planning on doing though? Does he stay in Astopol? Go travelling like his sister? Or what? That fire fear is nice though.

And jesus, Araki's such a nice, mellow non-douche now. Guess being the chosen one really rekt him in his past incarnation.

Bratty Savior title has been lost.

Oh, well, uh. He's staying in Astopol at the moment, continuing his training and such.
That fire fear is nice though.

I've read the disclaimer, it wont be too hard for me to follow. I was thinking that my char would be a swordsman prodigy who got in an accident, losing his right(dominent) hand and he only can do about half of what he could do with his right...

If he's a prodigy, why would losing his dominant hand be much of an issue? The concepts and talents are still there. It shouldn't take that long to get used to using only his left hand. Unless you're saying that he lost his right hand recently?

like i'm saying his opening post is him walking out of the 'hospital' and meeting with his old teacher.........

like i'm saying his opening post is him walking out of the 'hospital' and meeting with his old teacher.........
So he loses his right hand right as the RP starts? Kay then.

Another question then. You say that he's a prodigious swordsman. But being a prodigious swordsman does not mean that you're also talented when it comes to using Talentium. So is he also good with Talentium, getting dem massive buffs? Or is he just normal in that regard?

well, that I would let you decide, so that way he's not toooo strong..... but if all else, i'd say mid-high

@Azathoth fear of fire? My maid and your character are going to get along swimmingly :^)

well, that I would let you decide, so that way he's not toooo strong..... but if all else, i'd say mid-high
Hm...I'd say that he gets relatively minor buffs from Talentium then. Compensates for lack of stats with skill.

"What a bother..."
Name: Aresia Resan
Age: 17
Gender: Female
Race: Human
Height: 170cm
Weight: 65kg
Personality: Aresia is an hypocritical mess. Too lazy to cook, clean or do whatever else, living alone would end up in chaos. She tries to not care about money, believing that the more money you have the less you have to ultimately care about it. With this principle in mind, being a maid is just about the perfect job for her, as getting paid for cooking and all the other things is totally different from doing it just for 'yourself'. Despite that lazy self, Aresia gives 120% in her job, as she simply sees it as a mandatory task for the price her employer is paying her. It also needs to be said that Aresia loves to help out the poor, putting a smile on a person who is happy just about a loaf of bread gives the black hair a feeling of indescribable happiness, naturally she also hates slavery, and ultimately this is the reason she will most likely never amass riches.

Biography:
Born in Illiserev, Aresia was the fifth child of a mid-wealthy family that had since long the tradition of producing superb maids and butler. Of course, it shouldn't be any different with small Aresia, while being the fifth child meant she had way less responsibilities than her siblings, the employed maids and butlers made sure she would grew to be a fine maid...or butler in that case! At least Aresia decided for suits as those had way more style anyways.

Without too much effort, Aresia excelled at the maid school she was attending and it didn't take her long to get an internship for basically something bigger. In the end though, there wasn't much difference BUT Aresia was, despite being the fifth, finally getting some recognition from her lovely family! Thus, for the sake of celebration, she was finally about to go home for a while.

Though in the end, there were only funerals she could celeberate to. As it turned out, part of her family was butchered by some sexist vampire. Because of that, Aresia got even more time off, and after getting a small lead through an attack of the same vampire against the company that employed her sisters and mother, Aresia tunnel visioned on her great quest for revenge; and the Muspellzheimr Sword Art's style was just about perfect.

Continuing her training furiously and whatever else she had to do to allow for more training, the girl became a tad darker compared to before. But thanks to some cool white-haired dude named Aiv who stopped her from becoming a second-gen Sasuke 'Edgelord' Uchiha, she soon realized what she did was just silly, and while revenge was still kinda the main thing for Aresia, first and foremost she herself was the most important, let alone having discovered innocent sweet love! And the fact that Aiv teached her a pretty cool move just helped to strengthen that opinion.

Soon after, Aresia got herself a job, but quit unsatisfied soon after and got now re-employed by some wandering drunken mercenary.

Fears: Aresia fears, as edgy as it may be, dying, having not found a real reason she wants to live yet, dying would suck regardless. Furthermore getting scolded by her employer, as this equals having done a bad job and thus, not worth the money she gets paid. Or any failure regarding her contract in the first place, really. As much as she hates them, she also fears vampires, while the black hair has never seen one herself, just thinking about those brutal monstrosities gives her shivers. She also cares greatly about the rest of her family, which directly translates into fear of something to them happening.

Weaknesses:Taking whatever her employer may request (as long as it stays in the contract) very serious, this can turn into quite a problem. Being in the middle of the forest and the gentlemen wants to eat shark this evening? Sure thing, she will try to get that covered! Hating slavery, Aresia would go out of her way to do whatever she can, though for now she hasn't even gotten a lead. The same holds true for poor people, it wouldn't be a first giving 3 months worth of living expenses to some random orphanage she randomly stumbled upon.

Skills: Cooking, Cleaning, Mathematics, Writing, Reading, Etiquette, Managment yadda yadda and so on. Being an Illiserevian Maid calling her a goddamn mary sue wouldn't be too far off... fuck

Equipment: Talentium earring and bracelet, utensils to do her work properly, a mundane sword for practice purposes
Sword Arts:
Devouring Flames - Muspellzheimr
One of the many different martial arts thaught at the combat schools in Illiserev, Muspellzheimr inherits the destructive element of fire. Fighting with their bare fists it's thanks to Talentium that Muspellzheimr users could shift from disarming opponents to simple destruction, though disarming is, like in any other of the Illiserevian Martial Arts, a very core concept. Regardless, with explosions, fire, heat and live devouring flames that add to the stamina of the user being a main aspect of Muspellzheimr, this powerful combat art goes so far, despite the mandatory fire resistance, to even damage the combatant himself with burns and alike.

Since this goes against the principle of maid/butler combat being seen as an art, a more tamer version of Muspellzheimr is more commonly used, where a basic move, catching your opponent's weapon and overheating it until it breaks down, is already seen as one of the most advanced moves. In fact, it is not uncommon for a Muspellzheimr practitioner to let their employer die simply because of not going all out.

Sword Skills:
From the Ashes
While simple in execution, a miracle nonetheless. From the Ashes is simply a Sword Skill that restores the user's life into top-notch form. Having lost an arm? Got it covered. Having the Cursing Curse of 1000 and 1 Curses? Got it covered. At the verge of starving? Got it covered. A tiny bite scar on your hand? Got it covered. Furthermore, upon execution, a medium-sized energy blast occurs around the user as well, pushing away any pushable objects. It also goes without saying that this skill does cost a lot of Stamina, which is the only thing depleted nonetheless, and thus won't allow for endless loops. This is a Sword Skill teached by Muspellzheimr.

Collapsing Dreams - Null Singularity
Aresia's much hated finisher move, absorbing anything that could be considered life in the vicinity into a small singularity in her palm. This has the consequence of weaker life forms(up to infants/small animals/some plantlife) dying by default while suddenly turning cold and dark, with the orb essentially being a second light source. Said orb can be used in two ways, either as a strong finisher move, trying to hit the opponent and unleashing hell on him or by digesting it, giving a major power boost that slowly destroys the body. Damage done by this Sword Skill through absorption to the environment is heavy enough that whatever damage might have been done won't recover for a while.

Ice Banisher - Ignition
Ice Banisher - Ignition is a counter Sword Skill that can be used to temporarily disable your opponent. By theoretically freezing and dissipating whatever energies he is putting into his next attack. The stronger the attack, meaning, the more resource accumulated and spend, the stronger the disabling effect. Required for the use of this Sword Skill are pronunciation of the words and vision of the target, 'Ice Banisher' can be said at any given time and be followed up by 'Ignition' even 5 minutes later, though, for the entire duration of those 5 minutes vision needs to be maintained. Ice Banisher - Ignition has only reduced effectiveness against attacks way over her own power-level. This skill is especially effective after having witnessed certain attacks multiple times, as the hardest part of Ice Banisher - Ignition is timing.

"I will soar."

Name: Verek Henders
Age: 17
Gender: M
Race: Human
Physical Characteristics: 5'9" with an average build leaning towards the thinner side. Blue eyes and greyish white hair.

Personality: Verek is an odd combination of ambition and friendliness. He wants to be successful and lead because people will follow him, not because he has money. He enjoys the company of others and won't use people callously or manipulate them to do what he wants to advance his position. But if he decides gaining something is worth more than he'll lose he goes for it. Even if what he loses is his friends or the lives of others. Greed is his weakness. He isn't quite sure where he wishes to end up yet, as Illiserev's style of governing does not suit him. Wherever it is it will be at the top.

Biography

Verek had an ordinary childhood for the most part. Before his father's success his parents wanted him to have the skills and knowledge to start his own business when he was older. After the war the studies continued so he could take over the family business when his father was ready to retire. The only real event of note was the arrival of Ashe into the household after the war. Children being children he didn't question it as much as an adult would have, and the pair bonded easily.

Despite his studies he had a good number of friends in Illiserev. Which made saying goodbye quite sad when he and Ashe were taken to Dansilla by their father a few years after her arrival. Sensing the inventive power behind the new art of magic his father hoped to capitilise upon runetech early. Knowing he couldn't stay away from his own business too long he enrolled both his children in Ericsson's boarding house school to learn for him. Before the man had to return to Illiserev Verek managed to arrange a meeting with Escellar for him which proved quite profitable for them both.

A year or two later, with Ashe remaining in Dansilla to study further, Verek returned home to see how his father's business was doing. Thanks to his support of Escellar he had managed to acquire an airship shortly after their creation and business had been rapidly expanding as a result. Eager to show off to his son his father invited Verek on one of the supply trips. It just so happened that pirates chose to attack the airship that day of all days. Unarmed, inexperienced and quite young the boy hid in the captain's cabin for the entirety of the battle.

At one point one of the pirates made it to the cabin, having broken through the defender, and tried to break in. Hearing movement from within the pirate began threatening to drop the person inside over the edge of the ship and watch them explode upon the ground below. Terrified by the thought and scared of dying to the man Verek has feared falling from an airship ever since. However the pirate was found and dispatched and when ti was safe at last Verek emerged. Exploring the insides of the ship afterwards he discovered an odd looking knife that had rolled into the furnace room. The crew, preoccupied with keeping the ship running now they were undermanned, had not yet found the weapon. So the boy claimed it as his own.

Combined with hearing from Ashe how one of their classmates had become some sort of fight club champion, the experience of helplessness on the ship made Verek ask his father for combat training. Learning the knife his son had found was made of talentium the man agreed, and sent Verek off to a butler/maid school to learn. There he was taught the ice snake sword arts style. Though he showed skill with the art he had little combat experience, and those at the school who had been training for years regularly beat him. Especially some fire fist woman who became a bit of a rival, even if she didn't know it.

Having gained enough experience to be competent in battle he returned to Dansilla to continue his studies once again, having fallen behind on runetech advances. Despite his fear he found himself fascinated by airships and their ability to fly. And because of his fear he was inspired to create a personal flying device that would allow someone who fell overboard to land safely or to simply move around faster in normal life. As such a lot of his time was spent in his room studying everything he had missed from Ashe's notes and those flustered first years had to find other recipients for their letters.
Fears: Falling from a great height. Abandoning those he knows for something material he values greater. Being manipulated and losing.
Weaknesses: Can be a teensy bit greedy and impulsive i.e. likes shiny things. Easily tempted. Stubborn with a one track mind. Not the best fighter yet.
Skills: Tinkering, engineering drawing, artistic drawing (not good at this one)

Equipment: Talentium knife, 'Jetpack', supplies for drawing runes

Magic - Runetech
'Jetpack': What is effectively a pair of spellshooters strapped to his hips they are inscribed with an air rune of his own design. When activated they expulse a blast of air that will send the person wearing them straight up into the air, before gravity reasserts its dominance. They are generally angled upwards with a level on the belt before use, and are used as an escape mechanism. Verek occasionally uses them to enhance his short range ice cloud attack by increase the speed of the shards.

Sword Arts
Verek generates a long whip of ice from his dagger whose length is as sharp as a blade. He spins this whip around himself as a defensive measure to block any incoming attacks. When he sees an opening at medium-long range he will either slashed with the whip or do a more traditional whip attack except using the sharp tip to pierce instead of slap. Doing the former he can quickly flick the whip into lines that form a constant barrage of attacks. At short range the whip can shatter into hundreds of individual shards that fly at his opponent in a large cloud.

Sword Skills
Jörmungandr: Effectively the opposite of his defensive whip shield, the talentium of his dagger splits from itself into a long wire than shoots out to wrap around his opponent and tightens, cutting every patch of exposed skin. Deadly to unarmoured foes but can be blocked by weapons due to the thinness of the wire. The tip can also be pierced into a stationary object, allowing Verek to pull upon it and really slice anyone caught within it to shreds.

Relationships
ADOPTED, BADASS, RUNETECH SIBLINGS with Ashe.
One sided rivals with Aresia
Alexa: Tentative friends from school
Araki: Classmates
Raela: Also classmates
Charlotte: Known through Alexa

@Skyswimsky K, first off...teached should be taught. I'm not really understanding what you mean about this
In fact, it is not uncommon for a Muspellzheimr practitioner to let their employer die simply because of not going all out.
Also, in regards to her Collapsing Dream, note that it will only weaken things like trees and shizz. So small plants and animals and infants will die, but it won't kill everything. Also, soil doesn't actually have 'life', meaning that no, the environment won't become dead land for a long time. Her counterstrike Sword Skill will not work if she doesn't have the strength to match the attack she's trying to freeze. Unless you want to go in the angle that she CAN stop any attack, but will have to dip into her lifeforce or something in order to get all the energy required to stop it?

@DoughGuy Why doesn't Verek like Illiserev? It's literally 'only one can stand on top', and pretty much allows anyone to rule as long as they're filthy rich. Isn't greed his thing? XD And how big is the knife? Are we talking about a Swiss Army Knife? A kitchen knife? What?

He's greedy, but he doesn't want to rule through greed and riches. He wants to rule through the people. And the knife would be combat knife sized.

So basically...Akio v2. Glad to see you've fallen so far, Dough. :p

Charlotte Covinghall

"Actually, learning music was really pointless."

Age:

18

Gender:

Female

Race:

Human

Physical Characteristics:

Standing at 5' 7", 115 lbs. Charlotte has a slim frame and an average height. She has ruby red eyes and medium brown hair.

Personality:

Free spirited and adventurous, Charlotte is not what you would expect from a girl raised in highest echelons of Illiserev society. Lively by nature, she is not one to idle around and is usually out and about. Being from higher society, she's good with people skills, but isn't much of a person that hides behind a stuffy false mask of perfect personality. Charlotte is frank and likes to horse around; she's a person that gives and takes jokes fairly well. She makes insults with a smile. She's a fairly moral person and her book of ethics is loosely akin to a knight's code.

Biography:

Charlotte was born to one of the three ruling oligarchs of Illiserev. The third child among four siblings and growing up in the heart of Illiserev, she was no stranger to wealth, fame, and simply the best of the best. At their peak, her family held assets that could rival a nation state, thanks to a booming wartime industry and a secure trade network. Shortly after the war, the Covinghall family fell into rapid decline, onset by the passing of her eldest brother and father. Her father was a general, but quite old, and for all intents and purposes, the general manager of their household and a guy that got wield a fancy lance. His humiliating and untimely death by banana peel was horrid, but didn't ruin the family. But the unexpected death of her elder brother in a fire in Dansila began to spell the beginning of the end; the youngest son was a well-known lout, but ambitious enough to seize power. His ill-informed business practices would drive the family and their assets into the ground; his only saving grace was the managerial capability of their younger sister.

She was homeschooled for much of her life, tutored in the humanities, mathematics, and self-defense by her family's myriad staff of butlers and maids. She showed a particular talent for music, however useless, and astronomy, which ended being useful. Unlike the rest of her family members, she opted against pursuing business. After all, she had two siblings running the show, and the family enterprises practically printed money. Instead, she studied sword arts and skills. Charlotte attended school in Dansila for about two years, hoping for further education in Astopol. Unfortunately, she ended up being recalled home at the death of her second brother in a drunken horse-and-buggy accident.

Unexpectedly the head of the family, Charlotte worked to manage the estate before passing on the responsibilities of the businesses to her younger sister. But with a new head the desk, it was quickly discovered that the family finances were worse than they'd seemed; her asshole of a dead brother had been cooking the books and squandering their money on who-knows-what. It was evident that they were deeply bankrupt. In the following legal proceedings, the family debt was bought by a wealthy family friend, who ended up not being as friendly as they'd used to be.

With alarming swiftness, he seized all the assets of the Covinghalls, and made to send slavers to capture Charlotte, who barely escaped the family estate with little but her lance and a few coin. Her sister was not as lucky and was captured, but the man was seemingly reasonable enough to appoint her as a secretary to his fat brat of a son that ate too many melons. As for Charlotte, the 'friend' enlisted the help of an entire mercenary company to track her down, and this eventually came to be as she made her way to request the aid of another family friend. Forced to fight, the girl was nearly overwhelmed before a childhood friend and her retinue by chance came upon the scene. With their aid, she was able to break through their encirclement and escape. In return, Charlotte offered to accompany her friend on her travels.

Fears:

Flying, heights, large insects

Weaknesses:

-Impulsive when angered.
-Overthinks important things to the point where inaction becomes impulse again.
-Is a broke ass motherfucker.

Skills:

-Plays some instruments
-Knowledgeable in business management
-Knows her humanities well, especially astronomy
-All the things you'd expect from a (formerly) rich and noble person
-Acceptable at cooking

Equipment:

The lance "Excelsior"; a sleek and long reaching lance with a talentium blade. Just slightly over two meters in length, it is versatile in close quarters as a staff or its intended purpose as a medium range weapon on the battlefield. Only twelve years old, it has already served as the faithful weapon of four heads of family.

Magic:

"Ivaldi" and derivatives. This spell harnesses the power of the sun, but at its core is very simple: it amplifies the rays of the sun. It's particularly useful for warming a nice space, even outside, in the winter, or lighting a fire in an orthodox way, or any manner of ways where it would be nice to have more sun.

It's the most lethal in its most advanced state, where it can be loosely defined as an "anti-army" spell. In this state the rays of light are well amplified and focused to the point where it is visible and looks like a near solid beam of light. It can boil a person in a few seconds, but at this level it is slow, cumbersome to direct, and energy draining. It's dodge-able and generally ineffective against individuals and small groups. Can't melt steel beams.

Sword Arts:

Charlotte's sword art style is all about finesse, and to a lesser extent, speed. With her element being gravity, her focus is on disorienting the enemy and getting the upper ground, sometimes literally. She can conduct heavy, sweeping blows aided by lance modified by gravity, and then immediately jump back with a weapon that's now as light as a feather before returning with a series of quick, successive jabs. Footwork is key in balancing these gravity-distributing acts.

Sword Skills:

Charlotte's special brand of skill is "equalization." It's heavier, far more forceful than even those backed by her sword arts; strikes from skill are backed with the blunt pressure of a tsunami. It's an incredibly heavy strike; a hit from the blade can break through the most valiant guards, pass all but the strongest armor, and render magical shields and wards useless.

Relationships:

Saved by her childhood friend at probably the most opportune moment, ever. She's since made herself a member of Alexa's retinue alongside the meido-butler Aresia. She sometimes refers to Alexa as "master" and dresses up as a maid for amusement. The irony is palpable.
