Kurureenu watched as the badge fell out, looking down at the very familiar symbols and layouts. Even the title was familiar, but there was a different name and face to the one she had seen before. She reached down and plucked it from the floor, staring for a moment before setting it aside for someone else to pick it up and look if they wanted to. After all, it did seem that Sophia had the same level of curiosity that she did.

"Are... Are there more than one?" Kurureenu asked hesitantly. She glanced over toward the men flying the chopper and back toward Rune. "More than one head researcher?"

She knew she saw this same thing before. From the man that didn't talk much about his job when he was home, only receiving bland medical-related responses when he did give her answers. She had always assumed it was probably a company developing drugs to go on the market, keeping secrets even from her to protect his position and his company. She had a brief glance of his badge, but didn't recognize the symbol because she couldn't read it proper from how quick he picked it back up.

"Do you know a man named Liev?"

Sophia looked at the badge when Ku set it down, frowning at what it revealed though she set it back down also. She wasn't sure what to think about this revelation, so she stayed quiet just listening. She hadn't had anyone that close to anything important like this, it was all news to her. There were far too many questions but only one that really mattered, was there a way to make a cure or an immunity to this virus?

Soul was confused. This time, staying silent, he wondered why specific directions and actions had been taken by both Hawk and Rune. His eyes grew wide, yet he did not speak. Someone knew something about who started the infection. About where it struck first, and how it left where it originated. Other than obvious answers, there had to be clues, notes, or whatever qualified as evidence to the hell that was unleashed upon the planet. He wasn't sure, but he was certain he knew where to start looking. He sighed heavily, realizing what kind of danger he was putting himself in. He was of the military himself, but not having the proper clearance could lead to bloodshed. He looked toward Sophia and Kurureenu before turning his gaze out the window.

as the aircraft started to descend on the landing pad jean readily had his guard up as soon as he saw a bunch of people dressed in anti-radiation suits and four to five MP's (Military police) waiting for them. "Don't worry its standard procedure to scan evacuees to make sure that they'e not carrying any of the virus its better safe than sorry!!" the pilot radioed over telling jean and company. jean then looked at rune and asked saying"will you be OK?, once we land their gonna take you!."

Rune heard Ku asking about a second one as she then asked about a man named Liev as he looks at her and sighs softly. "So your the girl he kept talking about hmm" he smiles weakly. as he saw the helicopter start to land on the heil pad as he sighs softly as one of the soldiers made him stand up as it touched down seeing the other in suits as he sighs as he heard Hawk asking him if he would be ok as he chuckles softly to him self as the soldier push Rune off as he got off after him. "Walk traitor" Rune realized he forgot his bag cause he was rushed as he looks back seeing it. "Please I need that bag I beg of you I need what's inside it" Rune pleaded as the other glares at Rune as he then hits Rune up side the head with his rifle knocking Rune to the ground as a side of his face was bleeding. "I don't listen to traitors" he sneers. Rune's eyes widen with anger. "Your all the fucking traitors you jackasses" he yelled as the solider then kicked Rune.

"That's enough punishment" yelled a voice as Rune heard it shifting his gaze towards it seeing a man wearing a black suit with a dark blue tie his brown hair slicked back. "Arron" Rune growled as he got on his feet and tried to attack the man as Arron pulls out a pistol and shot Rune in the leg making him fall to the ground. "Nice to see you Rune welcome back to work Liev will be happy his partners here to help him" Rune was on the ground hold the leg that was shot. "Get this man bandaged and back to work asap" Arron yelled as he saw the other four. "Aw warm welcome one and all"

Kurureenu's face reddened drastically from Rune's words. The man she was searching for was the same one Rune worked with. After all, she hadn't met many people named 'Liev' to begin with. Before she could ask him more, she felt the helicopter come to a landing and the soldiers had started to roughly push out Rune. She heard him call back about his backpack and she glanced over toward the thing that was still in its spot. She knew the soldiers would probably throw it away or something out of spite.

Then a gunshot brought her attention to the outside, the woman scrambling over toward the opening of the helicopter to see what had happened and catching Arron's words about Liev.

"Liev...?" she murmured before rushing out of the helicopter and toward Arron. "You know where Liev is? He's alive? Take me to him!"

Sophia watched Rune as he was pushed off the helicopter and they started to beat him up before this other man just walked up and told him to get back to work before shooting him. She shivered and glanced to the others then grabbed the bags, hers and Rune's as she started to get off. She did not like this but she couldn't exactly do anything else. Shooting an unarmed and bound man went against everything she felt was right. Her hands were still trembling as she went over to Rune, watching the soldiers warily as she brought the bag over to him. She wasn't sure what to think of his admission that he started all of this, but she didn't like that they were torturing him right off like that either, it didn't bode well for anyone else that might not follow their rules in the future. She knelt down, putting pressure to the bullet wound and glancing from one to the other of them. "Was all that really necessary? What are you going to do next, hit him in the head, kill him directly or let a blood clot give him a stroke or aneurysm or something so that you lose whatever information he knows and he turns and starts an outbreak here too?" She asked then shook her head "Go hit a punching bag or shoot a target, not a bound man that gave up willingly"

Soul stood up, dusting himself off. Remembering his data pad, he pulled it out and looked it over, seeing many yellow dots on screen resembling friendlies, and some red, meaning hostiles. He scanned the screen a few times until he noticed a blue dot. His eyes widened, and he spoke out of pure shock, "Impossible..." He thought he was the only one left that fateful night.
They surrounded them, coming from all sides. Soul was part of a team of four. There would be no way that all of them would make it out alive, or so he thought.
"Soul, get going. As our leader, you'll have the best intel to provide to any survivors. We'll clear a path for you." His second in command, Rachel, spoke up.
"No...that's...I won't let this happen to any of you."
"Alpha One, sir, in accord with directive K-H-O53, I have no choice but to override your command for this one order. Alpha Team must live, even if we are to die. You must live." Seeing no way out of an override, he complied with a heavy heart and fled that night as the undead were closing in on his team. He ran fighting, and never looking back.

Soul walked out of the helicopter with his pack on his back, his blade sheathed and his FN 2000 assault rifle held in his hands. He turned in the direction where his primary objective was, and sighed in relief.
"Once I find what I need..." He paused, turning to face his team, "I'm coming back for you." He turned away to walk off, looking at his data pad and following toward a blue signature he knew was all too familiar.

jean followed behind rune quickly getting out of the chopper as he saw the soldiers who were with them drag rune out by and started to beat him, jean wanted to jump-in and stop them but was blocked by the man in suit's entourage also seemingly dressed just like the dude. jean immediately recognized him as Arron an officer from the DOD. suddenly "bang!" he saw rune getting shot and like wise soul leaving. jean wanted to act and retaliate but he knew that only armed with a light scar-H assault rifle that has seven mags of live ammo and a 9mm bereta side arm will only buy them at least 2-3 min of survival in a shoot out plus they were inside a military base surrounded by countless soldiers and on an isolated island located miles and miles away from the mainland so it was impossible to escape and that all of them would end up dead so jean stood silently but then he saw ku rush towards the man that shot rune. jean's sight began to focus as he inwardly screamed "shit!" on the back of his mind and pushed both guards out of the way running towards ku blocking and embracing her to the ground shielding her as one of the guards aimed at her, and said to her whispering behind her ear "don't move or else all of us are gonna get shot right here, rune's wound is a trough and trough all muscle and no bones he'll be walking tomorrow. "

"hold your fire!, stand down solider!" a woman dressed in military officer's uniform yelled at he guard who was ready to pull the trigger, the guard immediately retracted his finger from the gun and stood in attention followed by the others as another yelled "RARE OFFICER ON DECK!!" as she arrived on the helipad.

"Mr. Arron are you trying to shoot Civilians on my island?!, let me tell you some-thing! the world's in a shit hole right now and we need any body and every body who are able right now and we are doing our best to ensure humanity's survival and yet here you are trying to destroy or end it?!, do this again and i will personally shoot you! my self do you under stand!" she angrily told the man in suit. the woman in uniform is clearly higher ranked than Arron, she then switched her focus to jean and rune who were on the ground.

"Sgt. hawks report to my office for debriefing after the being scanned and cleared from the virus by the CDC and take the DR. here and the others to quarantine for virus inspection, also tell them to patch-up his wound. dismissed!" the woman spoke giving orders to jean and the other soldiers to escort them as she tuned around and returned to her office.

jean was still on the ground covering ku but as he heard the man giving orders he stood-up right away in attention mode "ma'am! yes!! ma'am!!" jean responded to her then swiftly walked over to where rune was and carried him on his shoulder looking at the other soldiers as they showed jean and the others to the quarantine building.

(yeah sorry bout that! note: according to my knowledge rare officers starts from col. (colonel) to GEN (General), but correct me if i'm wrong)

Rune saw as Sophia bring him his bag as he smiles softly as he felt her touch on his wound as he winced a tad. "Thanks Sophia" he smiles as he then watched as she then started yelling at Arron. He chuckled as his leg was in pain as he then watched Ku run up to him asking about Liev as he was about to tell her to be quiet. Arron heard Ku ask about Liev as he smirked as he was about to take aim at her, but before he could he saw Hawk get in his way as he then heard her voice as he then. "People just keep ruining my fun" Arron groans as he put his gun away hearing her threats about shooting him as he chuckles as he watched her walk off waiting for her to get far enough. "Soon I'll be in charge and you'll be undead just like the rest of the world" Arron spoke softly to himself making sure no could hear him.

Rune felt as Hawk helped him up as he picked up his bag and his gaze met with Arron's as they both glared at each other Rune then looked at Hawk and chuckles "Well I called it bird brain were fucked well maybe me more then you" he laughs softly. "Also can you do me a favor and get my flask it's in the left side of my jacket I need to numb the pain"

Kurureenu let out a gasp as she was intercepted by Hawk and brought down. She didn't even thing about the guns around them that were probably trained on all of them. She just wanted to see Liev. She sniffed, tears stinging at her eyes that she quickly wiped away once Hawk went to retrieve Rune. The woman sat up, looking over toward Hawk and Rune. "Will they let me see him?" she asked, almost pitifully.

She stood up and carefully paced over to Sophia, quietly standing next to her. She felt defeated that she was this close to him and that he was still alive but she couldn't just simply walk over and see him. The woman spent the past few months hoping that she would find him alive and well or, if he was dead, not walking around like one of the undead. Kurureenu wanted peace of mind for his whereabouts, but she also wanted to make sure he was okay and well-fed.

Sophia wiped her hands off, watching as Rune was taken away then stood beside Ku, looking around at the soldiers. "Now what?" She asked quietly. She wasn't a soldier or a wife or daughter to one, so she had no idea what would happen now or where to go.

Soul walked toward a very tall building located in the center of the island. The walk seemed like hours, but the blue signature was closer than ever. He walked toward the building and entered through two sliding doors. He looked down at his datapad and saw that the blue signature was right in front of him. Looking up, he laid eyes on the familiar blond that had fought off the infection alongside him four months back. Her hair was short in the front and grew longer from the sides and stopped in the middle of her back. Her body was slender and slim, and she was five foot, four inches tall. She wore a dark gray uniform like that of a business woman.
"Rachel?" Soul called out to the young woman. Her head shot up, and her emerald green eyes widened in shock.
"Soul?" She asked.
"I...I thought you were dead." He said, trying to process that she was still alive.
"I thought you were dead too." She replied, stepping out from behind the desk.
"How long have you been on the island?" Soul asked her.
"I've been on the island for four months. Shortly after I gave you the order to flee, Alphas Three and Four ordered me to escape too...they didn't make it. Shortly after I fled, I saw a modified chopper and ran for it. the men welcomed me on board and I've been here ever since. How about you?"
"I recently landed with a team. About an hour ago, in fact. I'd been running and finding shelters to sleep in until the infected got closer. I'd pack up and run and stop at the next one. It was that way for four months until I met Kilo-Yankee in an abandoned city. She was on the highest rooftop in the city. From there, we met others and formed our own team. It wasn't until we arrived at the island that I realized that most of us were splitting up. Had you been dead, I'd still be with them. But a blue signature caused me to separate from them."
"And that blue signature was me?"
"Yes, Rachel. It was. I'm certain we need more eyes and ears when it comes fighting off the infected. Come with us. Rejoin me and help us to put a stop to this." He pleaded.
"Soul...I can't just stop working as a receptionist."
"Ask your superior if you can take up arms like you used to. If you're given the okay, get changed into a combat uniform and we'll go find my team." She nodded and walked off to inform her supervisor. After waiting for about thirty minutes, her supervisor walked out and saw Soul in combat fatigues and his assault rifle in his hands. He nodded to her and she went to get changed. Soon she came out in dark camouflage fatigues and stepped behind the information desk one last time to grab her Designated Marksman Rifle and ammunition before loading one magazine into the rifle.
"Let's go." Soul motioned toward the door. "We need to find my team."

as jean was carrying rune he also searched rune's left side jacket for his flask then gave to him, after a few blocks from the helipad jean entered a building and inside was full of plastic that covered every wall, window and door like curtains this building was the quarantine building where the CDC lab was hosted in order to contain and inspect people suspected of carrying the virus or any biological threat that may affect the people or personnel that are staying on the island base.

upon jean's entrance he was greeted by two persons dressed in anti radiation suits and immediately spoke while they approached jean and rune with a wheel chair "its alright sir we will help your friend in the mean time please follow me to this room for virus inspection!". so jean gave a nod to rune while saying "dude i'll find you tomorrow so you better be alive!" then seated rune on the wheel chair, the other guy in anti radiation suit took rune too the operating room to get him patched up, the one that spoke with jean was pointing in the other direction waiting for jean, ku and sophie to follow him. so jean gave a nod looking at ku and sophie as he moved towards the mentioned room.

(CDC stand for Centers for Disease Control and Prevention )

He grabbed his flask from the other as he smiles softly opening it and taking a drink. "Aw that will help with the pain" he chuckles as he was placed in the wheel chair and heard Hawks words about staying alive as he chuckles taking a drink from his flask. "No promises Bird brain" he laughs as he felt the other doctor start pushing him into the room seeing the table. The doctor then helped Rune on to the table as the doctor cut Rune's pants to see the wound as Rube stayed sitting up. "Well Doc get to work I have to hurry and meet Liev and see if he was able to crack the cure with out me" Rune sighs softly. "Well Rune it's nice to have you back and I'm sure Liev will be happy to see you" Rune chuckles softly. "Not as happy as when he sees his girlfriend" he laughs as the doctor begins to work as Rune groans in pain. "Dam doc no pain killers" the doc laughs. "Well this will teach you not to fuck with Arron hate to see my drinking buddy die on" he sighs. "Well good news bullet dissolved in your body, but there some bad news" Rune looks at the doctor. "What is it?" Rune asked. "There seem there was something in the bullet" Rune grits his teeth. "I see Doc don't tell anyone promise me I need to run tests Arron might be testing something on me" The Doc sighs. "For you Rune fine, but if you starts to change I'm shooting you myself" Rune smiles. "Thanks Doc" the doctor then stitched Rune up and helped him on the his wheel chair and pushes Rune to the lab were Liev was at.

"I can push myself from here" Rune spoke as he entered the lab reaching up grabbing a lab coat putting it on not caring his pants were ripped as he wheeled around. "Liev?"

Kurureenu followed after Jean, making sure to keep her pace in line with Sophia. After a few moments, though, she eventually reached out and grabbed Sophia's hand with the need of some kind of human contact. She was this close to Liev, but they were going to keep them away from each other. The woman can already tell that there was going to be something that will keep them from letting her see him. There was always obstacles... Especially when it came to the government.

Right now, though, she needed someone. A friend to help her keep her wits together as Rune was wheeled away to get his wound fixed and they were directed over to be checked for the virus.

~

Long light-brown hair tied back into a low pony-tail and a slouching white back sitting on the stool would be the first thing someone would notice walking into the clean lab. The man was bent over, elbows on the counter and hands on his head while he muttered to himself quietly and incoherently. He stopped, though, when he heard the doors open and tired brown eyes turned onto the newcomer. A gleam renewed itself slightly as recognition set in before it dulled again as more pressing matters came back to his mind to haunt him.

It didn't stop the man from standing and walking over to Rune to shake his hand vigorously, the professional remaining professional in their situation. "Rune! I was thinking the worse!" he exclaimed, dropping his hand as a small smile stretched across his face but never reached his eyes. "I guess we're stuck with each other until the end, huh? Was it just you? You had family, right?"

Sophia was quiet, taking Ku's hand when it was offered just to have someone else at her side. She was scared but she was glad to not be alone, at least until they had to be separated to get checked over. She watched the doctors check them, offering what answers she could to the questions they asked, hoping to get out of there soon.

"So, Soul, where do you think your team is?" Rachel asked.
"I'm hoping they're still together. I don't know where they could be." Soul replied. Thinking critically about the time that had passed, and the fact that he recently arrived on the island. "Where were you taken when you first arrived here?"
"The decontamination center. That's where..." She paused to look at him. "You didn't go through, did you?"
"No. I stood near the back of the helicopter scanning my datapad, and that's when I saw your signature. I immediately departed, following your signature with no pursuers."
"They'll come looking for you, you know," Rachel stated.
"Yeah..." Soul sighed angrily, "Another firearm aimed in my direction."
"Who are your friends?" She asked.
"Kurureenu is the first. She's the leader of our group. I take no credit for that. There's Rune, a man who likes his drink and killing the undead. Sophia is, to me, the quiet and shy type (Correct me if I am wrong). She's spoken somewhat but mostly keeps to herself. Hawk is the last of us. He has enough experience in the field, just like you and me. It seems off, though..." He trailed off for a moment before continuing, "It seems as though Hawk and Rune had some knowledge of what to expect, even though I gathered what intel I could about this island. Kurureenu, Sophia and I had no idea what we were heading into. It's funny; the pilot never mentioned you while we were in flight."
"That's because my boss was the only one who knew anything about you." She giggled before looking at Soul, "I couldn't keep my mouth shut about you. I always told him how I missed you and how I wondered if you were still alive. I'm glad that you didn't disappoint."
Well, that saves me from asking my next question. We've been through hell and back when the outbreak started. We met at a local coffee shop just before the outbreak occurred. Soul thought.
"What line of work had you as a receptionist?" He asked, curious.
"I was the receptionist for registering people to live on the island once the fled the mainland. Sometimes I wondered with the amount of paperwork I was filling out whether that or fighting the undead was more strenuous."
"We'll have to sit down and compare and contrast when we have time." We walked for a few more minutes before our line of sight connected with the decontamination center. Soul sighed, irritated. "Here we go..." Rachel placed an assured hand upon his right shoulder and smiled at him.
"Everything will be okay. They know me."

as jean entered the room for virus scanning a lab assistant gave him a lab gown and a plastic zip bag with marker for his clothes and gear at the same time showing him the counter and changing booth saying"we need to be thorough so please hand over tour clothes over here for decontamination then change there in to these."jean took the lab gown as he was listening and directed his attention to where he would turnover his clothes as well as where he could change into the lab gown. jean took his time changing into the lab gown making sure that all of his belongings were placed in the plastic bag then carefully listed them all, after that he went to the counter, dropped off the plastic bag them proceeded inside the decontamination chamber to get scanned and decontaminated, as he was scanned the lab professor was shocked as the results were being show to him, it was an astounding result."QUICK! find Dr. Liev, finally we have found a specimen that has developed an immunity against the virus!" the professor suddenly shouted in excitement the muttered to himself " i wonder if his comrades are also the same?".
